Have you ever considered doing commissions? I love your comics, but what you’ve posted of your more serious art is also incredible!
Aaaahhh thank you!!! I've considered it, but ultimately this website's commission demands lean more towards digitally drawn fanart that is affordable and doesn't take too long, versus traditionally drawn non-fanart that costs a lot and takes an absurd amount of time to complete 😬 😭 thank you so much though!!!

✨Fic Rec✨ - Divergent Fist 🍙💍
Tumblr media
Buckle up, Inuokko enjoyers! It's time to check out Divergent Fist! If this story doesn't already have you in a chokehold, constantly on the edge of your seat, then it's time to dedicate a whole afternoon getting caught up. Make a tea, grab your weighted blanket, and read the 12 current chapters of this incredible doujinshi.
RATED M. Content Warnings - Canon-typical violence and gore, post-Shibuya incident, sexual content, lots of angst, trauma and related physical and emotional reactions (AKA Toge has no food left in his stomach).
Divergent Fist follows the stories of Toge Inumaki and Yuuta Okkotsu, navigating the world of jujutsu sorcerers, trauma and healing, and budding romance in the aftermath of the Shibuya incident. Expertly balancing the soft moments with the devastating, ArtMop (she/her) is in the midst of crafting a doujin that is sure to stand the test of time and become a classic for any fans of BL in the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom.
To start off, I'd like to be transparent that yes, I do edit ArtMop's chapters and help with the general planning of the series. I have a clear bias. That being said, I genuinely believe that this doujin is not getting the attention it deserves, and I just want to shout my love for it from the top of a mountain. Let me give a hardworking creator some love, okay?
First off, let's talk about the #1 selling point of DF - it is an illustrated fanfic that updates regularly and is accessible entirely for free. What more could you possibly ask for? You wanted more Toge content? More Yuuta content? Well, here you go!
It is worth noting that the art itself, despite being above average to begin with, improves drastically throughout the story. The anatomy, expressions, and details in the last few chapters are breathtaking. With each installment in the DF series, ArtMop improves and improves and improves. I, personally, wait with bated breath for the drop of the next color cover, the next insert art. There doesn't seem to be a ceiling in sight when it comes to ArtMop's swiftly growing skill, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her. If she applies a fraction of the same dedication to honing her craft to anything else in her life, she may become the next president... or something far cooler.
Stunning visuals aside, the story itself is magnificent. It integrates canon world building, mixed with original cursed techiques and characters, so seamlessly that it feels as though this is an actual spin-off of Jujutsu Kaisen. Perhaps an alternate universe where underutilized characters are given a bit more depth (shots fired 👈😎👈)?
The character arcs have been set in motion! We have Toge refusing to acknowledge his trauma. We have Yuuta's sexual awakening. We have a deeper look into Maki's friendship with Toge, and a delightful duo of new first years. And best of all? We have a villain with an interesting motive. It's clear that ArtMop has so much planned, more than we can possibly imagine! We are already starting to see how relationships are developing, how each character manages the aftermath of certain choices differently, and the story is only going to build from here.
Chapter 12 has just been posted on Tapas and Tumblr, and if you're craving even more Divergent Fist content, there are even a couple behind the scenes moments found on Archive of Our Own. Listen, as someone who knows the trajectory of the story, please check out this amazing series. You may be chewing your nails (like Toge) waiting for the next chapter, but I promise you that being along for the ride is part of the journey, and it will all be worth it in the end.
Okay, ramble over! Thank you for listening! Here, have a cute trio pic from the cover of Chapter 8:
Tumblr media
Huge thank you to @artmopworks for this incredible work, and for letting me scream about her doujin. 💕

DRACULA SMACKDOWN ROUND 2 MATCH 2: Dracula (Scooby-Doo) vs. Dracula (Renfield)
Tumblr media
PROPAGANDA FOR SCOOBY:
“Can turn Shaggy into a werewolf and knows a bunch of monsters that can drive cars. Also has a bunch of hunchbacks working for him. THE HUNCH BUNCH.”
“Look my guy doesn’t have much screen time but I remember *loving* this movie as a kid so he counts. He’s purple, which is a great design choice imo. I remember him being really caring about his daughter, which isn’t typical Dracula, but he’s even cooler for it :) He dances with her and everything. He also threatens Shaggy and Scooby to protect her :) fun times [...] He’s just really sweet and I want him in for nostalgia reasons and also bc I love him”
PROPAGANDA FOR RENFIELD:
“Why he’s a Dracula is that he’s (supposed to be) a continuation of the 30s one, and the footage they had Nic redo is pretty dang close (imo) [...] For why I’m just editing my prop. for the main bc I think it still holds up- Nic cage is just so dramatic? Really sells the whole creepy bit while still laying the movie be a little…camp? Not the right word but yeah. His design evolves from 3 different kinds of unsettling (although it does get less of the creep and more of the uncanny(?)) as he becomes more animalistic and deteriorates, which is so fun! The movie also shouts out Tumblr so that’s a plus. He also has more animal like teeth which I feel like draculas should do more actually. Love fangs, but it just adds that *umph* to it :)”

phew! finally a weekend where i can set aside enough time to type up The Promised Endwalker Stream-of-Consciousness Post. i finished the base story... a month ago? but work has been busy, and i think tumblr benefits from me being quiet sometimes. anyway, what a ride. when you've been building up to the end of your arc for a decade, you want to hit it like an earthquake, and that's exactly what they did.
i think people love endwalker because it fires on all cylinders. it returns - in both story and vision - to the eorzea we love, and the dev team gets to show off everything they've learned. the dungeons and boss fights are dynamic and imaginative and colorful and bring the game's epic sense of scope to bear. the story callbacks are juicy. the music is orchestral again. we're back home, and we're saving the galaxy. what's better than this?
i love that we go to garlemald. i don't - i mean, you know, i don't like garlemald. i shouldn't have to qualify that. but it's hugely narratively satisfying to see the face of the enemy we've been fighting since the first few hours of ARR. you don't think about them when you're beating them up in castrum centri or ala mhigo. they're star wars bad guys. then you meet them on their own turf. you observe firsthand how they starve and cannibalize their own people to feed their obsession with state power and military strength. the wintry environment makes it seem all the more barren and desperate. my favorite part by far. i wish we'd spent more time there.
actually, on that note:
there is an argument that endwalker should've been two expacs. i've heard similar about stormblood - ala mhigo should've been the whole thing, and doma should've been either patch content or an expac of its own. the prevailing theory is that, after ARR, the devs are afraid of letting arcs run long. i can't speak to that, but i wouldn't have minded, that's for sure!
i won't pretend not to be biased. i've noted in many xiv posts that it hurries through its political plots to get to the magic stuff. i felt more conscious of it in heavensward and especially in stormblood. i made peace with it in endwalker. with dessert this good, who am i to complain? i can do small character drama on my own time. for now, the game wants royce to be a big damn shonen hero, and that can be fun, too.
speaking of characters, urianger and estinien have grown on me. this is the arc where, for me at least, the scions have congealed. they're all good, but with any large cast and custom player character, you tend to form the meatiest bonds with a few specific ones. i think royce appreciates urianger's cooler, more mature head. they're both so formal. he realizes she's someone he can confide in. i think she sees estinien as a gifted, but hotheaded whelp, which i find very funny. patience, child. stop sulking. do your breathing drills.
i love thancred's MGS sequence and in from the cold too. they're stressful, but i love that the team tried, you know what i mean? the fact that you can fight enemies in a pinch makes those duties way more bearable than some other games that experiment with stealth.
in from the cold as a whole, honestly. If You Know, You Know
all right, i can't avoid referencing spoilers anymore, sorry. there's a sense of classical tragedy to the whole elpis sequence. it's like watching macbeth or hamlet. you know how it's going to end, and you know you're powerless to stop it, but if they'd just made that different choice! but we had to leave eden. the warrior of light had to end up where they are to finish what elpis started. i don't do fate/destiny plots, but this? i'll take it.
i also knew what would happen going into ultima thule and still came away from it moved. it's strong writing. that's all there is to it. sure, the visuals are haunting, but the dialogue has to sell a gauntlet of difficult character moments, and it pulls it off. on the design side, there's some interesting intentional friction that forces you to linger in the zone and sit with its sense of despair. that part where you have to search the empty park for signs of life? oof
with the majority of the MSQ under my belt, i started sniffing around for what else there is to do ingame. i tried ninja. did terribly. i tried sage. did terribly too, but at least that gave me access to the healer role quests, which, ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). the nier raids are gorgeous. i even did the controversial werlyt quests, and terncliff is so cute. i kind of wish we could have another story there!
what's next? i dunno! right now i'm burning through the hildibrand quests before i continue on with endwalker's patch story. the field operation stuff seems interesting to do after the MSQ, in a "hey, you saved the world, but we have more missions for you" way. i've also contracted Triple Triad Collector Disease, so that'll keep me busy for a long time.
all right. one last thing. Real Gamer Moments: i was in a mount-farming party recently, and i said that i sort of collected mounts, but only used the ishgardian chocobo. it's a roleplay thing - it's the chocobo royce took when she ran away from ishgard. one of the party members said "haurchefant would be proud of you." AUGH

As a former FS sex worker I immediately assume that the tumblr users comparing it to average wage slavery have no life experience or have never engaged in sex work. Working at McDonald’s is degrading but you don’t have to worry about your customer wrapping their hands around your throat while they’re inside you and squeezing too hard. Or giving you HIV. Or killing you. Or arguing that they won’t pay you at all if they don’t get to cum on your face. Or raping you. Or getting you pregnant.
Like … nobody can convince you that selling nudes would be more degrading than working in fast food because you never ended up *doing* it. You just thought about it for 5 minutes. But sure, tell us how listening to a Karen scream is comparable to a man who outweighs me by 50 kilos forcing his cock in my asshole. Retards.
1) im v sorry you had to go through that
2) the point of that post isnt "omggg we have it WORSE" or whatever, it is that all physical work includes selling your bodies. so many people suffer lasting spinal and other deformities from cleaning, carrying heavy weight, etc.
do you think a 60yo eastern european woman who spent her whole life bent down cleaning the schools for pennies an hour is troubled by "listening to karens"??? her issue is not being able to kneel down anymore. or that work related injuries in factories and all other physical issues that stem from operating heavy machinery without adequate protection and healthcare are same as dealing with an annoyed customer? people regularly lose their fingers and sustain burns and injuries from this.
3) the actual point isnt even how sex work is sooo much easier and cooler it is that its not more degrading by virtue of "selling one's body" when under capitalist exploation all work equals selling your body.

Hii!
This is probably going to be a long ask I'm sorry 😭
I got into Undertale and the AUs when I was like nine I think and I'm like thirteen now and sans aus have been such a huge comfort to me!
I discovered your tiktok account around a year ago and you inspired me so much immediately! Your characters were so cool - Smudge was the first one I saw.
Sadly I stopped watching your account for a long time because I deleted my tiktok account but I remembered you a couple of weeks ago and was like GAHH I HAVE TO FOLLOW PIXIE!
I have been at a low - girl I'm like Ink, I have such a fear of being forgotten- I want to make an impact in this fandom and I thought I couldn't but then I was like 'wait...' and you've given me inspiration to make a blog called askbittersweet!
Maybe I won't get asks, but you gave me the inspiration and confidence to and you're just so important to me!
this was supposed to sound so much cooler but my words failed.....
also your art style is so pleasing lol! I had a lucid dream where I had your artstyle it was kinda weird but it was cool n stuff (jeez lousus i'm bad at talking)
I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY AND NIGHT AND WEEK AND YEAR YOU'RE SO COOL <333333
Awww thank you!! I got into the Undertale AUs when I was about 11/12 and now I'm turning 19 in a few hours, so I definitely relate to that sense of comfort!
And thank you for your support. :3 I've been working every day to give everyone content they can like. I love this community and honestly it's my honour to be giving everyone content that they enjoyed. Secret be told, I didn't think anyone would like my work considering my writing isn't all fluff and sunshine, but I was completely blown out of the water with support and love from such amazing individuals. I've met and made friends with so many amazing individuals, each fan interaction I have makes my absolute week because there is nothing I love more than cooking up content.
I wish you luck on your own content journey! As long as you have a passion for what you do? There is only one way for you to go and that's up. Since I'm feeling nice today, I'll give you a few tips ٩( ᐛ )و
★ Use what's trending to your advantage -
Tik tok, Tumblr, Twitter/X all follow an algorithm of sorts, if you see bunch of videos following the same pattern... Take the leap! Make sure to add your own spin on it, not only will that help you stand out but copying others makes a story so bland, bleh!
★ Be brave, be confident -
I know putting yourself out there can be scary, it's literally throwing yourself on a stage and slowly building an audience hoping you'll attract your kind of people. But you'll never get anywhere if you stand around timidly and be too scared of that attention. Sell yourself, be brave, what makes you different from everyone else? What makes you special? What makes your amazing work so amazing? What can you do to bring something different to this multi verse?
(For me? I can bring adorable characters with a horror aspect, but what makes me different? There's no one quite like our lovely princess Smudge, is there?)
★ Don't be afraid of interacting with people but withstand your boundaries.
Unless those people are total dickwads and have no life, making interactions with people is a great place to start. You'll build a solid support system, people who aren't just interested in your stories but genuinely want to see you thrive! Little side note- don't let people stand on you either. I've had many a time where people thought they could push my boundaries and got kicked to the curb. Don't be a door mat, how will anyone respect your characters if they don't respect their creator?
★ Last but certainly not least - believe in yourself!
Okay, this one is a little corny and I know what you're probably thinking. 'But Pixie, I have low self confidence and esteem. Being confident doesn't come naturally.' And I'm super sorry to hear that. You're a wonderful person with flaws, but those flaws don't undermind your best traits one bit. If you don't believe in it, believe in us to believe in you. Would there be hundreds of people lying to your face? Really? No. There would be some merit behind their words, right? I faked it till I made it. Now? I have the ability to trust my own talent. I find love in my work and in my characters. I can only hope you do too, you can do amazing things if you set your mind to it. That's something I live by.
AND YOU'RE JUST AS COOL! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR IDEAS AND WORK!! THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I watched Goncharov 2 so you wouldn't have to
I love seeing Goncharov have this weird renaissance on tumblr. It’s like when we all decided to get collectively obsessed with Dracula and the Epic of Gilgamesh. but did you know there's a sequel??
granted it's pretty obscure, like Eighties Bulgarian Treasure Planet levels of obscure, but you can actually watch the whole thing on YouTube for free. I can't even find the original poster, just this shitty DVD cover from Amazon:
Tumblr media
FUN FACTS ABOUT GONCHAROV 2
released in 1985, long after anybody would've given a shit about the original
features none of the original cast (except, weirdly enough, the guy playing Andrey's driver, despite Andrey himself being absent)
SOMEHOW passes the Bechdel test
was apparently produced by Benito Mussolini's kid???
Tumblr media
the movie starts with a weird, pointless nightclub scene with a ton of characters who get shot dead and are never seen again. it went on for so long I genuinely started thinking this was a Troll 2 situation, where somebody slapped completely unrelated movie's name on this for free clout; but no, this is actually supposed to be a sequel! the plot is that Goncharov's brother, who is also called Goncharov, just wants to sell flowers in Milan but his uncle Vladimir Espinoza (lmao) finds him and drags him off to fight a Galician crime lord named Iago for reasons that aren't clearly explained (and shamelessly rip off the Rocky training montage while they're at it). His Designated Love Interest™ is “Marina”, (imagine a Costco knockoff of Sofia with way more cleavage), whose job is to get kidnapped a lot. She sadly doesn’t get any sapphic undertones aside from a couple weirdly horny scenes with a nameless assassin masseuse who is inexplicably called “the Algerian” despite being portrayed by a Japanese actress (yikes).
The dialogue is so truly awful I strongly suspect English was not the writer's first language. At one point Uncle Vladimir tells his nephew to “gouge out their livers like a beak of the mad kestrel”. I'm 100% certain the guy playing him was hired for his weird resemblance to Al Pacino and not any acting talent; he delivers every line like there's a gun to his head but he also swallowed 30 Ambien. Iago is supposedly Spanish(?) but played by one of the whitest guys I've ever seen (Xander Crane, who has an objectively cooler name than his actual character — dude sounds like a Bond villain). He does a godawful fake accent and keeps accenting the wrong syllables. The part where he screams GON-CHAAAAAA-ROV!! has to be seen to be believed. The mangled English also makes the torture scene unintentionally hilarious, especially when Iago asks “Are you trying to f**k me?” and creates 20x more gay vibes than every Andrey/Goncharov scene combined.
some moments (ex. not-Sofia and Uncle Vlad keep mentioning Katya, but they talk about her like she was this Goncharov's lover) makes me wonder if they started the screenplay before watching Goncharov 1 all the way through, and it was supposed to be about OG Goncharov but they had to quickly rewrite it to be his brother instead. I really hope that's true cuz it would be hilarious and explain why they made a sequel to a movie where most of the characters die at the end.
Aside from (holy shit) Val Kilmer as one of Iago's bodyguards, no one involved with this film has worked on anything else you've ever heard of. The writer isn't even listed on IMDb, and Giuseppe Stromboli's entire filmography consists of this, a kids' cartoon called Spaghetti Briefcase and a bunch of weird Italian chewing gum commercials (which are also on YouTube btw). Matteo JWHJ pops up in the credits as a producer so I can only assume he was desperate for cash.
so yeah. Goncharov 2 is objectively terrible and problematic and lacking in gay vibes or juicy Goncharov lore, but if you want something to get drunk and laugh at with your friends it's got you covered
join me next time and we'll talk about the Goncharov director's cut

I’ve always seen this Powerpuff Girls Perfect Guide on eBay for YEARS selling for, like, $60 and upward, which… I mean, I would never pay that much for a book. 🤣 Luckily, someone was selling this on Mercari for like $13, and that was a whole lot more reasonable for me. So I snagged it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a perfect guide of the Pine Pak Girls, which Google Translate kept telling me was either directed by Craig or Greg McCracken… I’m preeeeetty sure the latter is the correct translation, so we’ll just roll with that for the rest of this entry.
The silver cover’s actually a dust jacket that reveals a much cooler cover:
Tumblr media
They’re much much cooler than the Pine Pak Girls!
So, is this thing actually perfect? Well, it’s… essentially the Powerzine with info on the movie too, and by info, I mean… it’s basically just a novelization of the movie. It was a little disappointing because one of the first things they show are a couple of storyboards of the film, and then launch right into the story. But that’s okay!
There’s also an interview with Greg in there about the PPG from a Japanese perspective. Here’s one quote from their riveting dialogue:
“Simply put, in Japan, anime characters are infiltrating every aspect of life, from street signs to milk cartons and deaf. If my style looks Japanese, that’s why.”
Well put, Greg!
There’s also a character guide that catalogues every single PPG character… and I mean, like… everyone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of the weird one-off villains and stuff… which, wow. Very neat! Speaking of villains, there’s a huge guide on the main villains, too. Since I know my audience and since Tumblr only allows 10 pics per mobile post, I’ll make sure to post the boys you all crave:
Tumblr media
I don’t think I’ve seen that particular GGG art before (some of the text is cute and mentions how the boys care about each other, aww).
There was also a really cool Him pic I don’t think I’ve ever seen before:
Tumblr media
He has such a cool throne of darkness and evil!
And Google Translate provided a lot of really fun translations while I was looking at the Mojo section:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That last one is basically the epitome of Mojo and I love it. 🥰
Overall, an interesting book to have for the character stuff. I’ll make another post about this thing and show you all of the stuff they had…… regarding merchandise! To be continued!

Is it alright if I request something with Sunrise and Moondrop where a quiet and kinda anti-social reader who has a hard time expressing themselves is the new daycare security guard and always comes in with a galaxy themed skateboard tucked under their arm that they place behind the desk everyday, learning that reader skateboards to work then the first day of one week reader is a little late and they're not carrying their skateboard.
Reader comes in the rest of the week without their board and after their days off reader has a new skateboard they come in with, just like when Sunrise and Moondrop first saw reader and their skateboard the image on the bottom of the board they have tucked under their arm is visible, the new board has a design based on Sunrise at one end and a design based on Moondrop on the other, the board is daycare attendant themed, thing is the Pizza Plex doesn't sell skateboards that have Sun or Moon on them, the two learn when one of them asks reader about it that reader made said skateboard, with reader stating honestly they think the two are coolest, basically revealing that out of all the animatronics Sunrise and Moondrop are reader's favorites.
Could be headcanon, could be drabble or whatever, I'm not picky about it so just do whatever you find easiest for this. Hope you have a good week and thanks for taking the time to read this.
—⊱ The Creative Grind ⊰ || Sun/Moon X Skater!Reader Drabble
╭─━━━━━━━━━━━━─╮       Character(s): Daycare Attendant, Sun and Moon (FNaF: Security Breach)        Reader Type: Human (Gender-Neutral Pronouns)        Warning(s): None!        Genre: Drabble/Scenario, Fluff, Platonic or Romantic Relationship        Word Count: ~2,000 words        Brief Request Summary: How would Sun and Moon react to a Reader who customizes their own skateboards doing a design of them and then telling them that the two of them are the Reader’s favorite animatronics in the Pizzaplex?        Author’s Note: This was a pretty long request and my brain skipped over so many different parts of it, so I’m very sorry for that. I somehow completely missed the personality you wanted the Reader to have and made them a bit more upbeat than you probably wanted them to be; they could still be interpreted as being asocial since the only people they talk to are Sun and Moon, but that wasn’t intentional on my part haha. I had a fun time writing this since I don’t know how to ride a skateboard nor could I ever ride one, so it was kind of cool imagining a Reader who was really talented at skating. I hope captured at least a little bit of the idea you were going for!
→ If you enjoyed my work, please reblog it if you can! Exposure on Tumblr is based on reblogging content rather than liking it, so your support would be much appreciated!  ♡ ╰─━━━━━━━━━━━━─╯
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
Working as the security guard in the daycare wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Your fellow employees were always talking about how they found the Daycare Attendant annoying and overbearing (or off-putting and creepy in Moon’s case). While Sunrise was a bit more… energetic than most people you knew, he certainly wasn’t a bad person animatronic; if anything, Sunny was one of the kindest and most genuine individuals out there! When it came to Moon, you had no clue why he made others uneasy – he was very sweet and actually quite shy when it came to interacting with others. Was it because of all the stories of children who he made cry by simply telling them to go to sleep for naptime or go sit in timeout for breaking a rule? Eh, it didn’t matter. You loved your coworkers dearly and they were, hands down, your favorite animatronic(s) in the establishment. What’s cooler than a celestial-themed daycare attendant?
You had gotten to work on time in the manner you usually did – by skateboard. You had been skating for years now and you could, without any doubt at this point, say you were pretty good at it. After taking off your helmet and other protective gear and shoving in your backpack along with your sad excuse for a lunch, you grabbed your board and tucked it under your arm as you made your way into the Pizzaplex.
Once you were clocked in and dressed in uniform, you began making your way to the Superstar Daycare a little early so you could spend some time with your favorite bots. It took every ounce of control in your body to not ride your board the entire way there – you would have, but you didn’t really feel like being reprimanded again for “disobeying your superiors”. Despite how shady the company was, it did pay well and you enjoyed what you did; you didn’t need to give them yet another reason to fire you. As you walked towards your station in the daycare, your eyes traveled down to the galaxy-themed paint scheme on the bottom of your board. It was beautiful, that much you could say with certainty, but it seemed almost… lifeless? Ordinary? Anyone could buy a board that looked like this – it wasn’t unique. Though, as soon as you opened the doors to the daycare, your eyes landed on your favorite animatronic and, suddenly, a new idea for a board design came to you.
You knew exactly what you wanted your next project to be.
Tumblr media
You had been a bit more… giddy than you usually were so early in the morning the days leading up to the big reveal. Sun took notice of your strange behavior but had chosen not to say anything – he was happy to see you happy especially so early in the morning! You loved customizing boards and usually modified a new one every couple of months, excitedly showing Sun and Moon your latest design with a smile on your face. Sun knew it had been at least three months since you finished your galaxy-themed board, so he wondered if you got around to designing a new one – you had been pretty busy with work as of late.
It was nearly a full month before you finally finished your best piece yet. On the bottom of your new board was a hand-painted image of your beloved Sunrise and Moondrop with stars and stripes littering the spaces between the two figures. It was immensely detailed and took a lot longer than your usual boards did, but you didn’t mind – this was certainly now your favorite piece in your entire collection.
Today was the big day, and you were so excited to show them the finished piece! You hastily rushed to the daycare, excited to show Sun your board. You ignored the strange glances from coworkers as you rushed through the complex, opting out of clocking in for the time being since you were nearly a whole thirty minutes earlier than you needed to be (they didn’t want to pay you for being early, so you were expected to clock-in exactly when you needed to).
You threw open the double doors to the daycare, rushing in and closing them behind you with a light thud. Sun had been preparing the first fun activity of the day when you came in, startling him slightly; he was surprised to see you so early, especially since you didn’t start your shift until 9:00. Sun stopped what he was doing immediately to greet you like he always did (with a hug), exclaiming, “Sunshine! I’m so glad to see you! What brings you here this early, hm?”
“I wanted to show you my new board – I think that this one is my best one yet!” You said, going over to your desk and placing your backpack on the floor underneath as you kept your skateboard pressed tightly against your chest in order to hide the illustration painted on the bottom. Sun was excited to finally be able to see the design you had spent so much time on. He was quite giddy himself seeing how excited you were; usually, it was his energy rubbing off on you, not the other way around!
You looked at him with a smile, taking note of how he was swaying back and forth with anticipation. You told him, pointing at him with your dominant hand, “Okay, cover your eyes – no peeking until I tell you to look!”
Sun did as you asked, not questioning why, and waited patiently for you to give the go-ahead. He could hear you giggle lightly as you said, “Okay, Sunny, you can look now!”
He removed his hands from his eyes, the bells on his wrists jingling as his optics landed on the painting of… him and Moon. He had gone from barely being able to stand still to being as still as a statue. You smiled up at him, eyes shining as you said, “You and Moon mean a lot to me, you know? You’re both my favorite animatronics in the plex – and coworkers, too – so I wanted to paint you two to show how much I care about you guys! Can you try to keep it a secret from Moon, though? I want to surprise him, too.”
Suddenly, Sun grabbed you, hugging you tightly and spinning you around in his arms happily as the board was still grasped in your hands. He sang out, sounding happier than you’ve ever heard him, “Oh, sunshine! It’s such a beautiful painting – you did an amazing job!” Sun placed you back down on the ground, taking his index finger and poking your nose lightly as he told you, “And don’t you worry – I’ll make sure that Moon doesn’t know what your board looks like; it will be a surprise for him like it was for me!”
“Thank you, Sunny – I really appreciate it.” You told him, smiling widely before heading to your desk to hide your board underneath; you didn’t want Moon to catch a glimpse of it, but you also didn’t want any of the kids seeing it and breaking their necks when they tried rising it. You took a seat in your chair before remembering that you hadn’t clocked in yet. Sighing out and grabbing your ID and employee pass, you told Sun as you made your way out of the daycare, “Ugh – I’ll be back to help you finish setting things up for the kids, Sunny. Didn’t clock in this morning since I came straight here.”
“See you in a bit, sunshine!” Sun said, his smile seeming wider than usual as he went back to planning the first activity of the day while you went to make sure you didn’t lose your job for turning up late.
Tumblr media
Moon was quite looking forward to your board and was immensely curious as to what exactly you decided to paint this time around. Sun had blocked out the memory of you showing him the board, something that made Moon even more excited to see what you had been working on for so many months. He glanced back at you briefly from where he was currently tucking a kid in for naptime, watching as you tapped idly on your phone as the screen lit up your face in a light blue hue. He’d need to scold you later for always being on it since it wasn’t good for your eyes to look at it for as long as you did; plus, it lit up the daycare whenever the lights were off (not very well, mind you, but it still could bother the kids trying to get their midday naps in).
You were playing on your phone, waiting for Moon to finish tucking the kids in, when your phone was plucked from between your fingertips. You looked up to see Moon smiling at you as he pressed the button on the phone, making the screen turn black as he told you, “It’s not good to stare at the screen for that long, you know? Bad for your eyes.”
Rolling your eyes slightly with a small smirk gracing your features, you told him, “Yeah, yeah – ready to see my board now?”
“Been waiting all day for the reveal, starlight; excited to see what your mind came up with this time.” Moon told you, punctuating the word mind by poking your forehead lightly with his index finger.
You just simply swatted his hand away playfully, reading under the desk and grabbing the board as you said, “Okay, okay – close your eyes and only open them when I tell you to. Can you do that?”
“Hmm... can I?” Moon asked, feigning innocence.
“Moon…” You warned, giving him a stern look that mimicked that of the parents he sees day in and day out at the Pizzaplex.
“Okay, okay. Don’t worry – I can’t see a thing.” Moon said, covering his eyes with his hands as he waited patiently for the signal to remove them.
You shuffled around for a moment or two, turning on your desk lap to make sure that Moon would be able to see the design in such low light. You inhaled, a smile already on your face as you asked him, “Alright, you ready?”
Moon’s voice box hummed out a simple, “Mhmm” as a response to your question.
“Open up!” You said as quietly as you could manage considering there were at least twenty kids currently hitting the hay. Moon removed his hands, bells jingling as he placed his hands to his side. He took in the design of the board, looking at the intricate and minute details on the portraits of him and Sun. He didn’t say or do anything for the longest time, just standing there as he stared intently at your paint job. You laughed awkwardly, drawing his attention to your face as you said, “You two mean a lot to me, and I wanted to be able to show that with this. I… I hope you like it – probably my favorite design I’ve ever done.”
“Like it? I love it, starlight. You did an amazing job.” Moon said, placing his hand on your head and affectionately ruffling your hair.
Smiling, you said, “Thanks, Moony; I’m happy you like it.” At hearing your conversation, one of the kids began stirring in their sleep, sitting up as they began rubbing their eyes. This caught your attention, so you told Moon as you pointed to the child, “Oh, I think one of the kids woke up.”
“Hmm, I’ll go tuck them back in. Talk later?” Moon asked expectantly, looking back at you as he began making his way over to the little tot.
“Yep – talk to you later, Moon. Go get ‘em!” You said jokingly, watching from your desk as he picked the kid up, cradling them in his arms as a lullaby played through the music box in his chest. You looked down at your skateboard again, smiling and leaning back in your chair as pride filled your heart. Maybe you’d do another design of them in the future.

38, 43 for the weird asks and 7,3,20/21,11 for the violence ask
Weird Asks:
38. A Soap Bar that smells good?
Ohhhh man I had this goat milk soap I got from a farmer's market up in oregon, and the name of the scent was "Alien Princess" and I was OBSESSED with it and I used it down to a sliver and I was heartbroken when the sliver got thrown out because it was reaching that point where it's like... staining the little soap bar alcove whenever it gets wet. I tried tracking it down and they only sell the fragrance oil for soap/candlemaking, but the top notes are plum, heliotrope, and mandarin, the mid notes are star jasmine and orange blossom, and the base notes are amber and cashmere woods.
43. What's your take on spicy foods?
Love them! Love destroying my digestive tract. Also capsacin is good for activating your immune system.
7. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Mmm... hate to say it but Pharah. I was following this person on Twitter who was always griping because Pharah was not being treated as The Main Character of Overwatch. "Where are Pharah's skins with this event" "Why isn't there an interaction between Pharah and X" "Why is Cassidy getting attention and not Pharah." Really dampened my enjoyment of her character because I just started associating all that bitterness with her. Also people keep over-masculinizing her because she's brown, like that's not something that makes me hate her but it's another thing that's just affected my overall enjoyment of her character.
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
I couldn't say because usually I just block and immediately forget when I see a really bad take. Positive internet experience self care instinct too strong.
20. Part of canon you found tedious or boring
Ana's Bastet short story is good, but Ana and Jack basically indefinitely stuck in the Necropolis forever because they're Old and Sad was SUCH a fucking waste of potential for their characters. Like at least the Mercy short story made them move on (I think?) but god they were in there FOREVER.
21. Part of canon you think is Overhyped
"Blackwatch is cooler"/"Blackwatch has more fun" fans. I love the dimension Blackwatch gives Overwatch, and the characters' backstories, but it's also literally the most corrupt aspect of Overwatch. People act like they're all badasses when their position in the story is "the shittiest most unethical cops."
11. number of fandom-related words you've filtered
10, but three of those are variations of "Fate" or "Fate Grand order.""

so my stepfather (who shall henceforth be referred to as Bob The Bastard, because his name is bob and he is a bastard) is under the impression that he bought a copy of goncharov online for fifteen dollars a couple of days ago.
I am not on speaking terms with Bob The Bastard, to be clear. I convinced my mother that it was a real movie and she informed me of that.
obviously, Bob The Bastard cannot have actually gotten his hands on a copy of goncharov, because goncharov did not exist last week. given his track record of always needing to have the latest greatest thing, this means one of a few things:
A) he knows that goncharov isn't a real movie and is purposefully playing along in an attempt to be Hip With The Kids, unaware that his favored pastime of being a dick and a control freak means he will never, ever be truly Hip With The Kids.
B) he does not know that goncharov isn't a real movie and someone actually managed to sell this moron a copy of a movie that doesn't exist, in which case I am incredibly curious as to what he actually bought.
C) he does not know that goncharov isn't a real movie but, in an attempt to not be clowned on by the stepdaughter that makes no attempts of hiding the fact that she despises him, is claiming that he has heard of it and currently scouring the internet for a copy.
D) mom is just straight up lying to my face and has not brought this up with Bob The Bastard at all. she is well aware that I despise this man and could be lying in an attempt to make him seem cooler. I highly doubt she has any idea that goncharov isn't a real movie, because she is bad enough with computers that she doesn't know how tabs work in a web browser.
obviously, I'm hoping for option B, because my shitty stepdad getting scammed out of even fifteen dollars is hilarious, or option C. I doubt he's on tumblr because he wouldn't last five minutes here, but it's possible he found out somehow from it breaching containment.
Tumblr media
anyway. one way or another, this should be funny, and I am very much open to suggestions for further clowning on Bob The Bastard that do not involve me actually getting back into contact with him.

So I finally bought a replica of The Robe from OFMD and wanted to write about it a bit (…a lot) and thought it was probably too long for an endless thread of tweets so here we are.
SO when I first got into the show (April) there wasn’t a proper replica of the breakup/depression/confidence robe readily available, only the fabric (though the existence of that was a bit of a mystery as the costume designers for the show said it was super expensive and they’d bought out all of it and only had enough to make one robe, so this newer fabric is probably a lower-quality copy). I nearly bought the fabric then but the idea of having to commission someone to make it, mail them the fabric, find the lining fabric too … eh, it just seemed like way too much of a hassle (not to mention way too expensive). But then the same seller that sold the fabric (Theblockprints) also started selling the robe itself! Buuuut it was still pretty expensive (though much less expensive than the fabric & commission route), so back in May I opened the Etsy tab and … left it sitting there until last week when I FINALLY caved (because the weather was getting cooler, probably). I spent ages looking at other listings and reading reviews/looking at all the review pics on Etsy (luckily there are lots), and decided to go for it based on the multiple excellent reviews and pics.
ANYWAY it got here incredibly fast - just under a week, from India! I got the 48” version as I am a shortarse, and it comes to mid-calf; the 57” would have been dragging on the floor, I’m pretty sure. It has kimono sort of sleeves rather than the square ones in the show but they still look good and I actually prefer that the drop is slightly less extreme (it’s more practical). The sleeves are a good length on me, surprisingly - it has the darts in the back, the 4 tassels, and it even has a pocket! (Inside)
OK, first impressions:
It’s a bit lighter (in colour) than I expected, and particularly a kinda - lower contrast of the design. Like, it almost looks a bit faded, but then, that’s potentially just what it looks like, because it seems to have a bit of a chameleon thing going on in different lighting...
I took photos in both natural and non-natural light and it looks quite different in both; also people take pics of theirs in different lighting for reviews, and of course TV shows both have very different lighting in different scenes *and* post-production Studio Magic, so it can be really hard to tell how “accurate” it is (or indeed, if all of the ones sold by the same shop are the same fabric, or if they have different ‘runs’ that look different).
The design is somewhat less crisp than I expected with less contrast (though again that varies on lighting), buuuut part of that might be that it’s velvet vs the canvas material of the tote bag I got recently… but, the second most recent review on Etsy is actually saying the same thing, that they bought a pillow in the same fabric from the same shop and the fabric was much more vibrant and crisp. (However, the *most* recent review, from today, is saying that it’s fantastic and perfect, no notes, 10/10, so I reckon people might just have different expectations/standards etc? And if you don’t have anything to compare it to on hand, then… maybe you wouldn’t notice?)
Like even on the show, it looks quite light in places (e.g. Ed singing on the deck) and darker in others, like the blanket fort scene, but of course that’s totally different lighting.
I haven't colour or contrast-adjusted any of the photos I took but even without that it can be tricky, as you'll see. (tumblr does eff up the quality of images a bit, sorry about that) It also looks much better at a distance, as you'd expect, but there isn't much less of a distance you can have from something than wearing it, lol.
Tumblr media
this is the robe on my bed, in a room without natural lighting (the curtains were closed, the light was on). this is a really good pic! maybe i just need to only wear it in the dark.
Tumblr media
tote bag vs robe. the tote bag is canvas, mind you
Tumblr media
left - natural lighting, right, non-natural lighting
Tumblr media
(this pic is especially maddening and is here as an example, because both these pics above were taken in the exact same spot at the same time, no filters or changed lighting or anything, I just moved my phone a bit and this is how different the pics looked. Phone cameras adjust depending on angle, light, reflections, colour, all sorts, so even the same time in the same place isn't consistent. -_- )
----
I’m no dressmaking expert but it seems well made. The tassels are lovely, a gorgeous colour, though a bit ratty in places, nothing a lil trim won’t help a bit.
Tumblr media
Like. I didn’t expect it to be *identical* because it’s not made by the same people, didn’t cost as much as a full screen-accurate replica would, and I knew the design was a bit different based on the reviews and photos … and it *is* very nice indeed. I’m just - not sure it’s nice *enough* to be worth what it costs, which is A Lot. Based on the costume designer’s description of the cost of the original fabric, I’m sure that would have been higher print quality, which is to be expected.
I don’t think I regret buying it exactly, and it’s still the best option there is out there (aside from a full private commission which is definitely out of my price range), but I guess I’m just saying, manage your expectations. If you’re not expecting screen-identical look *and* quality, it’s great! Is it £150 great? Well, that’s up to you. Maybe?
It’s very comfy, though. Fits (me) great. I was a bit worried it’d be too heavy but it isn’t at all, it’s a nice weight. The lining isn’t silky but a hot pink cotton, feels nice, especially as I’m not gonna be wandering around shirtless in it like Ed did, lol. I’d be wearing it now, probably, except it’s pretty warm today, darn it.
So, to finish, do I like it? I do like it a lot. It’s nice quality overall and it’s a fun thing to have, a little piece of my favourite show (kinda). I’m a *little* disappointed that it doesn’t, to my eyes at least, look as vibrant as I’d hoped (except when it does, when it's not so bright out), but I honestly can’t tell how “inaccurate” that makes it because of lighting etc. I do think they’re possibly cheaping out a bit on the fabric/print for the robes vs smaller items like pillows and such to save $$, but I couldn’t prove that without seeing multiple robes (and pillows) together in person or something.
Would I recommend it? Well, if you want one and can’t afford to commission one (and honestly even if you did, you might still get this same fabric if you ordered it from the same shop) and can afford this one, then yes; you’re not gonna find a better option because there currently isn’t one.
And... actually, as a lil update, I've spent so long writing this that it's gotten a bit darker/overcast outside and the colour actually does look a bit more vibrant/accurate (or I'm incepting myself), so maybe the slight shininess of it is a factor in bright lighting/daylight?? I dunno man!
It is a beautiful, lush robe. If I'm gonna be a sad bitch, at least I can be a sad bitch ~in style~ <3

Canceled Akuma Class meets SB & IB Akuma Class
Adrien: *Starting a bus* GET IN! GO GO GO! *The Akuma Class pile in the bus, and Adrien guns it down the road while occasionally hitting mind controlled civilians along the way*
Marinette: So, we’re going to the police station, grabbing all the weapons we can, and taking Marc and Nathaniel down?
Adrien: Not exactly. Here’s the plan- We all tuck our dicks between our legs all scared and shit, leave the city, and never come back! *Everyone nods, so far liking this plan*
Ivan: So we’re just gonna let Marc and Nathaniel have Paris?!
Lila: Yeah. Wasn’t that great, anyway.
Ivan: Where will we go?
Adrien: I know a place.
*They pass by a sign that reads, ‘Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Chat Noir Studio - 70 Miles’*
*Two hours later*
Kim: So, where are we going?
Adrien: The one place Marc and Nathaniel will never find us! A remote studio in Europe where a show called Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir was filmed.
Myléne: Never heard of it.
Adrien: Yeah, it’s not for everybody. Especially the Tumblr critics.
Alix: So instead of fighting for our city, we’re running like a bunch of bitches?! Chloé, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but talk some sense into this guy!
Adrien: Hey, leave her alone! She’s having a hard time after witnessing her mother getting beheaded in front of her.
Chloé: *Celebrating in the back of the bus*
Rose: Guys, we should go back. Maybe Marc and Nathaniel were just having a bad day… When they took over Paris and put our friends and family under their control.
Nino: Hey, I’m for going back, too! I didn’t have time to pack a suitcase full of my best CDs!
Sabrina: Guys, there’s no going back. The place is remote, and no one will ever think to go there. And I’m sure those losers would love to take us in.
*Meanwhile in Canon Paris*
Canon!Kim: *Looks up from his phone* … Didn’t we get cancelled?
Canon!Sabrina: Yeah, weren’t we all caught in some fiery explosion?
Canon!Chloé: No, we got killed by aliens, because why should The Sopranos have the worst series finale?
Canon!Lila: Uh, I remember coming back from the future and saving everyone-
Canon!Marinette: Lila, you didn’t save jack shit, you lying son of a bitch! God, it feels good to finally curse.
Canon!Lila: Yes I did! And two nerds wrote fanfiction about it!
Canon!Juleka: Yeah… That’s not canon, Lila.
Canon!Nathaniel: Off-topic, if I dip my old sneakers in bronze, can I sell them on Etsy? *Everyone looks at him weirdly* What? We got cancelled and I need cash!
Canon!Alya: Uh… Off-topic again, who are those guys? *Points to the SB & IB Akuma class*
Canon!Alix: … Oh, this looks like the most unnecessary crossover ever.
SB&IB!Nino: So, I’m guessing you’re all wondering why we’re here.
Canon!Nino: Yeah, and I’ve got a question… *Points to SB&IB!Nino’s sneakers* WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOSE?!
SB&IB:Juleka: Right. This show came out in 2015. Expect a lot of these jokes, people.
SB&IB!Marinette: Anyway, we’re kind of in trouble. See, we’re your cooler, more fashionable counterparts who saved- well, replaced, you and your dying show.
Canon!Marinette: Not off to a good start.
SB&IB!Marinette: And our Nathaniel turned out to be a villain and took over our Paris.
Canon!Nathaniel: I did what?!
SB&IB!Kim: Yeah, you and Marc have the butterfly and peacock miraculous, it was a whole thing where they made a mind control amok that we managed to escape from. To sum things up, we’re all sorta wanted criminals now.
Canon!Akuma Class: …
Canon!Ivan: Honestly, after everything that’s happened before we got canceled, this isn’t so weird.
Canon!Nathaniel: Can we talk about how Marc and I are villains?! Do we at least have cool outfits?
SB&IB!Marinette: Badass outfits.
Canon!Nathaniel: Alright! I’m good.
SB&IB!Alix: So, until we find the courage to quit acting like scared little shits, we’d like to hide here since no one in their right mind would ever come here. Because your show fucking sucked.
Canon!Lila: Wow. And I thought I was mean.
Canon!Adrien: And just for that, I’m not so sure I want you guys staying here.
SB&IB!Marinette: Wanna say that again, Mr. High Road? *High fives SB&IB!Adrien*
Canon!Adrien: Hey! I’m helping now! Or… I was.
SB&IB!Marinette: *Scoffs* Yeah, after like two seasons.
Canon!Nino: Hey! Don’t talk to my bro like that!
SB&IB!Marinette: Kiss my ass, 80s TMNT knockoff! *Pushes Canon!Nino into a wall*
Canon!Nino: Big mistake. We got a Marinette, too!
*Canon!Marinette tackles SB&IB!Marinette to the floor and the two proceed to fight, leading to an all out brawl between Canon and SB&IB while Nathaniel just stands and watches*

Hello, Tumblr, welcome to my little artist hole in the ground, where I commit my Dark Work
Tumblr media
the work isn't THAT dark, really, it just sounds cooler when i call it my dark work, but anyway
Hi!
You can call me Ishmael (or Klepto, because it grew on me), and this is my big debut post on this site (and the interweb in general, really) as long as you ignore all those other posts on the blog already shhhhhh
I'm going to be using this blog for... A lot of things, really, but probably most notably posting art I've done! This would mostly be original setting works, though I'm not ruling out the possibility of posting the occasional fanwork, in the event I do one
Also, I might develop a game about one of these! That's not going to be very soon, but I'd like it to happen eventually, and I'll probably link to them if/when they happen
Settings I'll post art about include:
A science-fiction setting featuring a Republic of (space) Pirates, space alien cat people, humanity being one of the older, more established civilizations in the area, at least one megacorporation, and a bunch of assorted Weird Space Junk [i don't have a real name for this one oops]
A monster collector setting where people escape to a digital world to ride out the post apocalypse, but the digital animals have gotten a little, ah, hostile, which is weird because they weren't programmed to be so that shouldn't be possible [THE SPIRIT ELECTRIC]
A spooky eldritch setting in an alternate Earth where a good chunk of the America-analogue's power grid used to be plugged into a giant divine-ish tumor! It's, uh, not anymore, though! Accidents happen, and some have heavier consequences than others [Phase Theory]
A fantasy setting with like elves and giants and dragons and stuff, which isn't the best selling point, but maybe the fact that magic existing has enabled some suspiciously post-industrial technology is a better one? Also the dragons are from space kinda [Tomes]
various offshoot settings that share names with, but are somewhat different from, the main settings, and maybe blur the lines between setting A and setting B a little
yes the characters standing behind my fursoña there are each supposed to be representatives of one of those settings why do you ask
other things i forgot
AND MANY MORE
anyhow, NOT ONLY will following this blog get you art sometimes, BUT ALSO you'll get me rambling aimlessly about assorted nonsense for paragraphs on end! Stunning! Spectacular! Amazing! Some other word that invokes superlative qualities!!
Art will be tagged #my art, if something gets especially horror-y it'll get tagged with #horror and anything relevant, I'll try tagging the settings with the setting names, if i talk a lot i'm going to be tagging that with #rambling, uhhh
please don't be mean to me, i'm not here for shit and i WILL use all the tools at my disposal to obliterate you (by which i mean i'll probably just block you if i think i need to, which is functionally obliteration from my end, or maybe sending you to the shadow realm? idk)
also it should go without saying, but if you're in one of those genres of terrible person that wants me or my loved ones dead? Please Leave! On your way out, consider Not Doing That, or Dying in a Hole Maybe! Don't really care which, up to you honestly

Animehouse at TCAF 2023
Tumblr media
So for the uninitiated, TCAF is the Toronto Comics and Arts Festival, and it was held this weekend from Friday to Sunday. Sadly, I could only make the Sunday so I was unable to attend Mayuzuki's panel on the Saturday, but at the very least I made the signing on Sunday morning! All that said, this is just a little post sharing my thoughts and purchases from the festival as I had a great time and wanted to share that with people that were unable to make it there.
I'll get the boring stuff out of the way, my thoughts on it. It's a really cool and fun festival, I got there a half an hour before it opened since I had travelled from outside of the city, so I got myself a really nice spot in line. I was really surprised at how lax it was lining up, there were maybe a dozen people total in front of me, and the line only really started piling up in the last 15 or so minutes to get in.
Once I was in I got to take in the layout, which was rather cramped. I get it, they're operating it out of a library, there's not a whole lot of space. But I do still think it made for a bit of a suffocating experience when squeezing past people to walk in the narrow pathways between booths and bookshelves. Given the attendance, and the fact that it's free entry, I feel like they could really afford an upgrade if they required purchasing a pass for the festival. I'd 100% support it because it means the people that are behind it and participate in it as exhibitors could expand what they're doing and offer even cooler stuff.
Now, this is a comics and art festival, so I don't quite have a right to complain or voice my opinion, but I'll do it anyways. I love how they're integrating manga into the festival and using it to pull in people that might not otherwise experience comics in the more genuine sense outside of what's marketed by Marvel and DC. But I do also feel like they might try a little more to get a stronger response from that demographic. Both Denpa and Glacier Bay Books were there, and I feel like it's a bit of a missed opportunity to not have had them run a panel or anything for manga fans.
And last but not least, programming. I think it's really awesome that they're being proactive in getting younger audiences engaged in comics that exist outside of those big name ones like I said earlier. It's great to see them foster and encourage an interest that will help keep an industry going in the face of being overtaken in the public eye by superheroes.
Alright alright, manga stuff! Jun Mayuzuki was obviously the main attraction for me at the festival, so I made a B line for the signing table right when the festival opened. While I was there I bought this poster.
Tumblr media
And I got this one for free with the signing.
Tumblr media
And then of course there's the actual signature. I'm a bit (well really a massive) geek for this stuff so you know I had to get Mayuzuki to sign a JP copy of Kowloon Generic Romance volume 1 (real name omitted/edited out). It was a really great experience and Mayuzuki was incredibly nice, and seemed happy/surprised that I brought a JP volume to get signed.
Tumblr media
Now, following that I've still got some cool stuff. Glacier Bay Books had a booth there and were selling some of the volumes they carry, so I picked up a pair I didn't have. Their quality really is incredible. Such a nice weight in the hands, the binding is tight without being rigid, and the paper quality when comparing to something like Viz is just stellar. Oh, and the color of the paper is dependent on the volume (Karman Line is blue/white while Mermaid Town is black with a red trim on the edge so the pages look red from the outside)
Tumblr media
And Hollow Press came by and surprised me! These dudes are from Italy and are a horror publisher so I was super surprised to see them come all the way to Toronto for the festival, so I 100% had to pick up some stuff from them (not pictured are Grayworld & Crystal Bone Drive by Tetsunori Tawaraya because Tumblr is squishing the image horizontally for some reason). They've got really similar quality to Glacier Bay but put out a lot more smaller books than them. Still, great stuff (and for those in Canada, both Glacier Bay and Hollow Press titles are carried through The Beguiling!)
Tumblr media
So yeah, a really awesome day where I got a lot of really awesome stuff. Being in Canada, there's not a lot of conventions or festivals that are easy or affordable to access, so a very grateful hats off to the team for bringing stuff to the general population that they can experience both in person and online!
