Instead, there was merely one quick shot of Flack smiling beatifically in the audience. Perhaps that cutaway did capture something: the failure of popular music's official institutions to fully track Flack's importance. She is beloved, yet underestimated, a treasure too rarely held up to the light. One reason for this, unavoidably, is racism. After the 1980s, when new radio formats and outlets like MTV did much to undo the genre-busting experiments of the previous decade, Flack continued to be a regular presence on both the black-oriented R&B and white-dominated adult contemporary charts. But the influence of this firebrand who had openly defied others' definitions of "soul" was increasingly downplayed within the emerging histories of both rock and soul. I showed up earlier to my rehearsal today so I could crank up the amp and program a specific #synthbass sound for tomorrow's show @lincolncenter #NPRmusic #turningthetables with #gabymoreno #lizzo #nonahendryx #alyndaleesegarra #ronniespector + so many other talented artists and musicians. . . . . . The idea was to create something that sounded a little bit 'synth bassy,' but still like the groove came out of my hands, instead of a computer. I mixed an #oscilator with an #autowha + a #choruspedal. And I'm player no everything #palmmute. . . Here's the result, I put my 📱 on my music stand and shot this to hear how it sounded. . . Turning the tables

No matter how many times we may put the truth out there, others may still choose to turn the tables, if they’re that way inclined. To reverse their position relative to someone else won’t help them.

Someone turning the tables on someone else, doesn’t mean that what that someone else has implied, is not the truth. The reality is the truth doesn’t stop being the truth because we choose to ignore it.

But the universe will always know and work to a different tune. Us turning the tables doesn’t mean we will never be confronted with the truth, because the truth will always show its face, no matter how much we try to run from it.

No matter how painful it is, the truth is better than having to deal with what are the consequences of us turning the tables. The truth is something people and society turn its back on.

When we turn the tables we’re avoiding something we don’t want to deal with, which means there will always be an element of struggle in our lives somewhere else.

Turning the tables mean there will always be consequences to deal with. It’s what turning the tables mean, particularly if it’s other people we’re turning the tables on.

Ah, yes, it's a bit of a cliche, isn't it? The miss me. As for turning the tables? Well, shall I act surprised then? Oh, dear me! Anon is still alive!?

MACKENZIE- “Why...why are you doing this to me Oz...??”

OZ- “Again manipulation. You think faking crying is going to make us feel sorry for you, or would you like for us to go on...Deandre, is there something you want to say???

MACKENZIE- “STOP.....STOP IT!! I don’t want to hear another word.

OZ- “No Mackenzie, we won’t stop...unless YOU STOP! I know more things about you that you know about yourself, so if you want to continue and harass everyone just so they will be your “friend” then try it, but as of right now it is OVER and you STOP!”

MACKENZIE- “Fine...I’m done.  I am done with all of you. I am out of here, and don’t worry, you don’t have to worry about Mackenzie being there for any of you when you really need me.

With that, she gathered her things and stormed off. After a few minutes, everyone relaxed and tried to enjoy the rest of their night.
