ISAT fanfiction for Palestine

I realized I can feed two birds with one scone and motivate myself to write more and help raise money for charity.

The 2nd chapter to my intersex Siffrin Hates Doctors fic. I was originally just going to have it 2 chapters but it might end up being 4 with Sif's interaction with the rest of their family over it + him and Mira dealing with useless doctors.

Alternate Act 5 scene where Isabeau sneaks back after Siffrin rips into him and overhears their conversation with Loop. He manages to talk them down and Loop gets them to tell Isabeau what's really bothering them. ($20 for this one because it's kicking my ass)

Loop is sent back to their own Universe after the 2hats fight right to the moment before they were sent back for the final time. They panic and their friends race them to the infirmary but they can't say more than a few one-word answers. When they finally give them space, Loop calls stardust and begs him to help on what to do now that they're not Siffrin anymore.

A continuation of Kamary's "Loop wins the 2hats fight and takes over Siffrin's body" where Isabeau loops back to right before the fight ends knowing what's going to happen.

Siffrin tries to loop back after Bad Touch Event but Isabeau grabs him and is pulled into the loops. Siffrin now has to face the consequences for his actions and spill the beans. ($20 for this one because it's also kicking my ass)

Post-loop Siffrin for some ~mysterious~ reason gets simultaneously transported back to the moments before he looped in every loop. Will be an anthology of sorts of several-months-free Siffrin's reaction to being back in the blinding building again. ($5 per chapter as they will be short.) Will go over most big events: Dying to the King, dying to a sadness, the rock trap, Loop's hangout, Bad Touch, Tutorial, and other events, getting stuck after wrong turn, something's failing, rotting, etc.

Fic based on my theory that Siffrin was the King's clone during my first playthrough. They figure it out while translating the diary in the Orrery room (which I misremembered as being written in the Forgotten Language) when it continues and reveals Siffrin is the King's clone who got separated when the Island disappeared. They have a breakdown in front of their family who have to fight through confusion to comfort them.

[Yet another tutorial time, Stardust~! Let's discuss themes, shall we?]

Darkroom: an ISAT Fanzine will be an anthology of works categorized into three acts presenting a whole.

Here is an excerpt from our initial introductory post for the Fanzine, explaining the overall theme of the project:

The theming for this fanzine centers around the idea of distortions, how they obscure what we see and perceive, and how they can bring to light an entirely new perspective hidden behind the more easily comprehensible. In Stars And Time shows us throughout Siffrin's loops how the order of a carefully curated script can bring about a chaotic mental state, and how the chaotic breaking down of these self-imposed walls can bring about the order of accepting vulnerability.

Change is often destruction, and in the midst of that destruction can be found something beautiful, something to live for. This is the idea we hope to present through this fanzine.

Now, what about those three acts? What are they, and how will we present their ideas within this fanzine?

Negative Space:

In photography, negative space acts as anything within the photograph other than the subject. It provides the room to breathe, to collect and focus one's attention, so that the subject material might shine clearly to the viewer. This act will focus primarily on the events of Start Again: A Prologue, as the catalyst that frames every event which proceeds with In Stars And Time. The negative space which gives its everything so that the subject might persevere.

Long Exposure:

That perseverance given form. To take frame after frame after painstaking frame and stitch them into a whole. The time and dedication needed to see something beautiful captured in the end. Though we know the events of In Stars And Time do not compare to the length of what we are told that Prologue held, it is the main game that we the players are fully immersed and captured within, that we experience every same step that Siffrin also experiences. And so this act will focus within the events of the main game.

Afterimage:

What we see when we close our eyes after exposed to a searing light. The visual information which lingers past the moment it holds life. It is only a singed shadow of what the real thing once had been, but it remains with us nonetheless, for better and for worse. This act will focus on what takes place after, what future awaits the party in the light of a new day, while the memories of their journey still burns dimly across their retinas.

We're less than two weeks away from the sign-ups closing! I hope you're all as excited as we are, and I can't wait to see everything we'll create together over these next several months!

We know that in ISAT everything that happens on the screen is canon, And profiles and buttons, and the tutorial, and how everything affects the world, and levels and problems … And I thought. Why not make the "PLAYERS" canon for this world? just some entities that are not very well known but in principle there were some records about it? those who are known by many names. In short, just curious entities that whether you want it or not but will lead you to your goal. And now it just sometimes … Happens? (Perhaps also known as ending expressions? or something like that?) and people have heard something about these someone who will lead you through everything … And apparently they like to run? (and the price for this help that they provide are quite such nightmares, in which you see how everything could go wrong? (And in fact, people just replay the game to get easter eggs, or favorite fights …) So very dubious someone, but sometimes necessary … And they can also be scared off if you acknowledge their existence so they are also quite timid????????) And I just … thought a little, because even the presence of the player for ISAT siffrin can be explained with the help of Wishcraft. asked for help? Get help! And Loop is here to help! … Yes, Stardust will now not be able to dodge accusations that he is the favorite of the Universe. …I can now imagine a classic post canon fic where Siffrin has to come to terms not only with the fact that it's finally over, but also with the loss of two of his closest comrades who were with him throughout his cycles (imagine Siffrin was given the option to use a knife but never used it on himself, but also didn't give it up when Loop offered to remove the feature??? I don't know, I just think it's a bit of an underused feature) And just… try to imagine what it's like to have someone who can't communicate with you, but if you know they're there, you can sense their intentions? And just… What must it feel like to lose that constant presence in the back of your mind? What must it feel like to… lose that color whose name you never bothered to learn? … And of course, their whole canonical longing for Loop (an entity not an event). I don't know, it's just… there's something that particularly fascinates me about the concept of the player as something not entirely pleasant… But not absolute evil either. Just… Something alive. Something to miss. Something… worth remembering. Yeah. I'm going into uninvited worldbuilding again. Oh well. Let's enjoy this uninvited worldbuilding while it lasts) (i sorry for lacking of structure... i just afraid that if i will add structure, this post will ends up being eaten and non exsisting)

I very much want Players to be canon. I like the idea of them being associated with the Universe - or a part of the Universe itself - that have a whole backstory and everything. Like, helping those who are lost or something like that.

I feel Siffrin's feelings for the Player, specifically, depends on the actions of the Player. (You know just like in Undertale where you're able to alter the ending to the game and your relationship with other characters based on your actions). If you're nice, in a way, to Siffrin, then he's more likely to see you as friendly. But say, for example - and definitely not something I might write in the future - the Player chooses to have Siffrin use the dagger a lot, even when there's better options near by. Or, if the Player refuses to let Siffrin make his own choices every now and then. Siffrin may feel that the Player seems them as an object.

But, if the Player does the "right" thing, then Siffrin may, as you say, view them as someone to miss when everything's over.

Also, I do like your thoughts. You're welcome to worldbuild on this as much as you like.

Just started a ISAT group playthrough, where everyone in the group voices a different character. I cannot tell you just how INCREDIBLE the reaction to the clock tower sleepover scene was.

A bunch of teenagers collectively giggling at how obvious Isabeau was, and how adorable he was. (It very much helped our Isabeau VA elect was great at his job.)

Only to immediately turn into "she's a lesbian" jokes as soon as they saw the tutorial sadnesses.

They're lucky we just barely didn't manage to get past the tutorial. The first loop event is waiting patiently for them in my 10th save file. :]

Team Positioning

Taking after the 5 cookie team system, I thought of positions and classes for Vanilla Bean Cookie, Mirabelle Plum Cookie, Sunflower Seed Cookie, Mentaiko Sushi Cookie, and Samosa Cookie.

Now for the reasons for classifications!

Vanilla Bean: Ambush for them being able to cast attacks fast. Frontliner for how fast Siffrin is in ISAT. High attack speed, high damage, and their skill can debuff Cake Enemies with lowered defense/attack.

Mirabelle Plum: Healing, well, because Mirabelle can heal/revive party members. Midliner because in ISAT, Mirabelle has a bit of bulk, but not too much. Her skill can provide an attack buff.

Sunflower Seed: Defense because of his high health and bulk. Frontliner because in ISAT, during the tutorial in Act 1, he took a hit instead of Odile that, only for that event, knocks him out until the Jackpot. His skill can boost the team's defense and damage resist.

Mentaiko Sushi: Magic due to Odile's arsenal of high-power craft skills in ISAT, as well as low-damage basic attack. Backliner due to low health and defense, but high attack. Her skill can debuff the enemies with a slower attack speed.

Samosa: Support due to them dealing little damage, but their main perk is buffing the team. Safeguarded backliner because, like in ISAT, they cannot take damage, as they're there to support the team (and for snack duty). Their skill can buff either attack, damage resist, or attack speed.

opened the game and immediately went "im gonna make odile question my sanity!!!" but of course when i enter the house Siffrin decides to turn the scripted tutorial enemy into bean paste and ruins the run--

i. i dont even know how but. I beat the king without him ever getting a chance to make his first attack. i just kept spamming slow and two jackpots later he was dead. i didn't even knoiw that was possible.

after a bit of fucking around i decided that i was gonna move on to act 5 and promptly burst into tears

i haven't talked about it before but. a while ago i made a concept for a game based off the backrooms and omori, and odile talking about someone who is forgotten may not exist is the basis for the entire game's plot, it makes me want to go back and flesh it out a bit more!!!
