   the shock is clear.   perhaps not to just about anyone—loki can’t be sure who would be able to see it, but he definitely does.   in the widening of mobius’s eyes to the quickening sharpness of his breathing.   his stomach twists into a pulsing knot—oh it’s been… forever since he has last felt anything other than a buzzing void.   he hardly remembers what anxiousness feels like but now he recalls it perfectly.   the tightness in his throat and the wetness in his eyes, the itch on the back of his left palm but also the inside of his right, which can never be satisfied.

  no, loki thinks.   no, don’t look away from me.

  “i know this may sound strange—” loki retorts, cringes inside his head as he purses his lips, swallows down.   how many times has he said that by now?

  “you seem well dressed,” loki notes with a look down at mobius’s clothes, his half-made tie that is, once again, crooked loki feels an urge to reach out, fix it, but he doesn’t.   “may i come in?” loki does not entertain his usual stance.   he does not keep his spine straight or his shoulders back, no—he’s almost slouching in his attempt to lower himself, perhaps, come to mobius’s level, catch a glimpse of those grey eyes.   “have you got time?” again.   how many times will he ask for that?   how many times will he plead for a few minutes?   a few seconds?   a few centuries to make the impossible possible?   no matter.   all that has been done.

  loki purses his lips and takes a step closer, though does not cross the threshold of mobius’s home.   “mobius, please.   i—i can explain.   i swear.” a beat.   loki feels his heart rising to his throat, suffocating him, urging him to choke out all the blood from inside his ancient body. so many weeks trailing by mobius's shadow. all this time and only now, only a few minutes in his immediate vicinity, does life properly pulse inside loki's head.   “trust me.”

I love the deliberate choice to not show what happens to the bodies when Ravonna kills them with the box thing - i mean, obviously they weren't gonna show it, they wanna keep their pg-13 rating, and it would probably be expensive to make and never live up to imagination, but - it's always something I love to notice and point out in film.

They do the same thing in Silence of the Lambs; Chilton stops Clarice in a doorway on the way to see Hannibal for the first time and shows her a photo of what he'd done to a nurse, Chilton puts so much emphasis on how gruesome it is and how horrifying it is that Hannibal's heart rate never raised as he did it and Clarice has a look of shock and discomfort as she looks at the photo that you as the audience don't need to see it to know how terrible it is and imagine it in your head.

They do that here by only letting the audience hear the screaming and it's sudden halt and watch the way Ravonna's face goes from pained to cold, the way that Brad looks scared the whole time but can't stop looking, the excitement on Miss Minutes' face and the way her eyes keep widening, the tragedy and panic B-15 has.

i can't stop thinking about what if Sylvie had stabbed Loki instead of kissing him

Spoilers for season 2 episode 1

Thinking about Loki running as best he can with a fresh wound.

The time slipping makes it even worse. It stretches it and looks like the ever-branching timeline

He's running around the past and present TVA, leaving a trail of blood wherever and whenever he goes.

By the time he finally does get to Mobius, there's blood all across his torso.

Mobius immediately running to him, taking off his jacket to try and stop the bleeding.

Loki holds on to Mobius as he's led out of the room, trying to express the urgency of He Who Remains and wondering why no one seems to care about it. Then he releases his grip from Mobius' arm and leaves a bloody handprint, thinking for half a moment that he's hurt him.

That's when he looks down and remembers he was stabbed.

Mobius leads him to an infirmary to patch him up.

"She stabbed me, and then she kicked me through a Time Door "

"Well, I would ask who won, but..."

"....it was a draw."

"....you both stabbed each other and kicked each other through Time Doors simultaneously?"

SPOILERS FOR "WHAT IF?" season 2

Ok but like can we just talk about how Nat and Peggy are totally in love in season 2 episode 5 of "What If?"

I mean damn talk about having some fucking chemistry.

Like I had shipped them in season 1 after seeing them interact, but damn season 2 just fucking solidified my belief that the two of them are totally in love with one another.

First of all, the way they were totally like borderline flirting within the first few minutes of the episode when they were fighting Loki and his army. And the way that Peggy literally saved Nat's life and the way they were showing off their moves to one another had me fan-girling and shipping so fucking hard.

Second, the way Nat would look at Peggy almost with like a longing, sad look on her face whenever she mentioned Steve.

Third, when Peggy picked Natasha up in the car Natasha originally used to pick Steve up in TWS, she teases Nat (and the audience) about how she wouldn't run in circles and she literally greets Nat by saying "Hey there, lovely." Like girl be fucking fr. I dare you to tell me that isn't something someone would say to their partner or someone they fancy. I DARE YOU!!

Fourth, the entire conversation between Peggy and Nat while they were waiting for Steve to wake up just like gave me romantic vibes. Then, when he woke up, Natasha almost looked sad that Peggy was giving attention to Steve. Now it could be because she felt like Peggy didn't trust her because she wasn't listening to her about Steve not being who he was, but to me it felt like more than that.

Fifth, just like the little one-liners between them and the jabs they threw at one another. Like Nat saying she's "a sucker for a great love story" and Peggy telling Nat "we're going to unpack that later" after she found out Melina was Nat's mom(ish).

And this isn't even mentioning the fact that when Peggy confronted Fury about Steve and found out Natasha knew, Natasha retorts by saying "I didn't want to break your heart a second time" or whatever. LIKE BRUH YOU CANNOT TELL ME THAT AIN'T THE TYPE OF THING SOMEONE WHO IS HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WOULD SAY TO THEIR SIGNIFICANT OTHER. Also the way Nat was freaking the fuck out after Peggy disappeared into the portal (side note: I'm so fucking happy they managed to get Elizabeth Olsen to voice Wanda/Scarlet Witch. I miss her sm and I cannot wait to discover her story in the series!) because she'd literally just agreed to go on a road trip to help Peggy find Steve and try to reverse the brainwashing the Red Room had done to him.

Anyways, I think that's all I've got for now. This was all off the top of my head after I've just finished watching the episode. I'm excited to see more of the series and I'm especially exited to see Wanda again!!!

tw for Loki season 2 finale spoilers + madoka magica spoilers (kinda)

i did not understand a thing(/j) from the series YET to understand the finale of the season 2 i had to associate the characters n what was happening with MADOKA MAGICA STUFF

in the 1st half of the episode we see Loki trying again and again to make Timely survive but fails every time,, this reminded of the anime Madoka Magica with Akemi Homura,, which in one episode we see that she tried over and over for Madoka and her to be happy,, but fails

so basically in this 1st half of the episode Loki is Homura while Timely is Madoka (i guess ??)

i know it's stupid but it's just how i got to understand what the shell was happening there

on the final moments we see Loki turning.. into a tree ??? at least it's how everyone's calling it but i associated that with Madoka Magica's final episode in which Madoka becomes a god,, sacrificing herself,, just like Loki did in here.

in the final episode of Madoka Magica only Homura remembers her,, making everyone that once Madoka knew forget her (Sayaka Miki,, Sakura Kyoko,, Tomoe Mami,, Madoka's family) except Madoka's brother,, Tatsuya,, who says she's her imaginary friend (if i remember correctly)

so Madoka and Loki are similar in that point,, both sacrificed themselves

but one thing that changes is that while on the Loki series people remember him,, on Madoka Magica they don't remember Madoka EXCEPT for Homura (and maybe Tatsuya)

also madoka n homura are similar to loki n mobius bc theyre both gay/j

It’s 2am, I’m not great at editing but here is some Loki fluff because I’m still angry about the season finale and I just want Loki to be happy goddamnit.

“You’re so cute!” You cooed, holding up the alligator.

The alligator seemed to smile, obviously enjoying the attention you were giving him. How could you not adore him? A little alligator with a little Loki crown? It was absolutely adorable.

Well, you found it adorable. Loki found it annoying.

Loki had always been a bit protective of you.  Being in the TVA hadn’t changed that, and being in the Void only made it worse. The three Lokis and the alligator had taken you to their hideaway and the other three kept looking at you. The young Loki was smitten obviously, while the other two seemed wistful.

“Whose a little baby?” You asked, holding up the alligator. “Whose a little baby?”

“Alright, that’s enough,” Loki said, stalking over to you. “Put that damn thing down.”

“Last time I checked, you’re not the boss of me,” You said playfully.

“I think he’s merely jealous, m’lady,” Boastful Loki said. “He seems to not enjoy sharing you.”

“Well, he’s going to have to get used to it. I’m adopting Alligator Loki now,” You said, holding the reptile.

“You are not keeping that thing!” Loki hissed.

“If the lady would like to keep a Loki as a pet, I wouldn’t mind volunteering,” The eldest Loki said with a grin.

“You’re bad,” You said with a giggle.

“Alright, alright, that is enough from all of you!” Loki grabbed the alligator out of your arms. “We’re leaving.”

“Loki, I---”

He grabbed your hand and started to pull you away. You looked back at the four other variants, offering an apologetic smile. However, Loki stopped when the entrance to the hideout started to open. He backed away, getting in a protective stance. The other Lokis quickly join him, making sure you’re as far away from the opening as possible. Even the alligator hissed as the hole opened up, and yet another Loki dropped in. He was wearing a tattered suit with a presidential pin that read ‘Loki’ and the signature horns.

“Well, well, well,” He said, grinning at the scene. “What do we have here?”

His eyes went to you, and he whistled.

“So it’s true. There’s someone in the Void who isn’t a Loki,” He said, his eyes going up and down your body. “Pretty, little thing too.”

“Keep your eyes to yourself,” Boastful Loki gripped his hammer.

“Oh, did I strike a nerve?” President Loki asked mockingly.

“Do not speak of the lady in such a manner,” Old Loki added. “She’s of no concern to you either way.”

“I don’t believe that,” President Loki’s eyes were glued to you. “I mean, it gets pretty lonely here in the Void, don’t you think?  I could use a bit of company.”

“Sorry, already taken,” You said, taking your Loki’s hand.

“Taken? Oh, dearest,” President Loki chuckled. “You’re acting as if you have any say in the matter.”

You never knew how fast alligators were until you saw Alligator Loki speed towards the president, jump up and clamp down on his arm. He screamed in pain, trying desperately to get the creature off him. Boastful Loki took this as an opportunity to charge forward, hammer out.

“You two need to go,” Kid Loki said. “There’s another way out. Follow me.”

“But what about them?” You said.

“They’ll be fine, my lady, but you two need to get out of here,” The eldest Loki said. “Please, stay safe.”

Loki took your hand, and the two of you followed the child out of the underground bunker. Once you got out, the two of you kept running until you were sure you were safe. Exhausted, you collapsed on the ground against an abandoned car.

“Are you alright, darling?” Loki asked his hand on your face.

“Yes,” You said, squeezing his hand. “What about you?”

“Who cares about me?” Loki said, pressing his forehead against yours. “I’m more worried about you.”

“Really? I thought you were angry at me,” You said.

“No,” Loki chewed his lip. “Alright, I was a bit jealous of the lizard.”

“Alligator,” You corrected.

“You were fawning over it,” Loki ignored your comment. “Cooing at it as if it was a babe and acting as if you had never seen anything so adorable.”

“Loki,” You squeezed his hand again, and he looked at you. “Were you afraid I’d like the alligator more than you?”

“No.”

“Loki.”

“Maybe.”

“Loki, come on.”

“Yes,” Loki sighed. “Love, you have to understand something. You’re so wonderfully amazing and bright. You’re a light in the darkness; people are drawn to you. I’m selfish, and I want your light to be only for me. When others try to get close, I panic.”

“Oh, Loki,” You pulled him close to you. “You know I love you, right?”

“Yes,”

“So trust in me and my love,” You said. “Just because I was fawning over the alligator doesn’t mean I love you any less.”

“You called it a baby,” Loki pouted slightly.

“What, does the almighty Loki want to be called a baby?” You teased. “You’re my baby, if that means anything.”

Loki smiled and kissed your lips.

“It means the world.”

my general canon regarding the whole tva plot will be a little fluid for now until the season is finished however, i have some thoughts to share on loki being so insistent on finding sylvie. i'm quite loud regarding my hate for them being romantically involved so i shan't repeat myself. here's my explanation on why he's so hung up on her; loki believes what happened is on him. per tom's words, loki thinks what sylvie did is his own mistake. so to use that—we see loki be frantic and guilty that he didn't have time to stop sylvie, to change her mind. but what is done is done and if sylvie is killed, by his reckoning, her blood would be on his own hands. that's it. it's a bundle of guilt, shame and a sense of failure. after all sylvie is a mirror of himself because... well, they are the same person. loki's tired of watching himself die, no matter how disappointed he is in her for doing what she did, and no matter how he reprimands himself for not managing to stop the madness. loki can't help his restlessness.

I finished Loki and ooooh that was a lot of damage! I am not okay, no one can be. NOT AFTER THE ENDING!!

There’s gonna be a season 2, right? It has to be. I mean, idk if Im gonna survive the wait but fuck it’s gonna be worth it if the second season is only half as amazing as this one.

I know most ppl are mad because they think mcu couldn’t make it without making things romantic between Loki and Sylvie instead of keeping everyone platonic but Im gonna say something: I LIKE IT THIS WAY. There it is said.

I cannot read a book or watch a tv show or a movie without a love interest (except for BW ofc). We were discussing it with a friend of mine and she said "if the cookbook doesn’t have a relationship, I’m inventing my own lasagna recipe." And oh I have never related so hard to something before.

And even tho I like that there was a thing between Loki and Sylvie (the opposite would’ve just frustrated me) it kinda bothered me that they are literally the same person but at the same time it was REALLY really well thought since Loki’s a narcissist.

⚠️spoiler about the last episode ⚠️ Also oh god, that ending! What the hell were they thinking about????? Loki’s facial expression nearly killed me after her betrayal!!!! He was so shocked that she actually did it and that it was all an act to distract him! I mean after EVERYTHING THEY’VE BEEN THROUGH?!!!

I really want him to just be "professional" with her for the next season when they’ll meet again (cuz yk Im a sucker for angsty shit)

It's been a couple days since the episode but for some reason this line hits me today.

Because I was the kid that couldn't make friends. The one that dreaded it when the teacher said to find a group or partner to work with, because everyone else already had someone.

I called my brothers friends mine because they were always around and no one said no.

As I got older, it became a little easier to make friends and Ive had a few groups of my own, although sometimes i feel like a late addition or a spare friend.

And I'm asexual. I don't have a partner and, at least at the moment, I don't want one. I'm happy with he platonic relationships I've created over the years. But majority of my friends, at this stage of our lives, have partners, and some of them kids. They have someone to call their own and so many a place to call their own. Not just the communal gathering we see each other at, whether it's work or dinner or a movie.

When the party's over, when the episode ends, when the lights go down, everyone has a place to be without the group.

And it hurts to be the one pacing the empty hallways like we watched Loki do at the beginning of the episode.

It hurts to ask yourself "Where do I belong"

(the voice inside of loki’s head) c’mon, loki. what’s a bit more of a change in equation? the multiverse has existed before. it can exist again — without you holding them. figure this out. fight just a bit more. he’s waiting. a life is waiting. c’mon, loki. you can do it.

   huh.   it’s odd.   as of late he hears nothing but the life of the branches.   can feel the buzzing of a trillion universes cursing through the palms of his hand.   laughter, tears, arguing, all sorts.   only a single voice is… occasionally louder than others.   a solemn, whispery voice.   but this is new.   it can exist again. can it?   well… it truly did, once.

  though loki has come to realise time isn’t linear.   there isn’t a beginning middle or end.   everything exists simultaneously.   that is true.   he’s waiting. perhaps.   perhaps if he—no, no.   that is too great a risk is it not?   what if something happens?   what if he’s too slow?   but then again… there’s no such a thing as quicker, or faster.   it’s been done now.   he will always exist.   his past will always exist.   his present and his past.   life is waiting. it feels safer.   to hold it all inside the palms of his hands.   life flowing out of him into the branches, and life from the branches flowing into him.   if there was a way to bind this vitality and leave it behind… return to it when he must or simply wherever he wants to.   well, he’s got all of existence laid out in front of him.   if there’s a way, he’ll find it.   perhaps, perhaps…
