Hey! Thanks for doing the S1 request! ❤️ Could you write headcanons about adult reader confessing their love to S1 characters and how they’d react?
awe this is gonna be so cute!! I’m only gonna do characters that have been semi-regular within the season just to keep things simple. I’m also gonna use the characters that are single (but let me know if you want the others!!)
Lee: Lee’s eyes widened. He glanced from side and side, wondering if it was a prank, or if they were speaking to someone else. “Really?” He asked softly, his voice barely a whisper. He was shocked, but thrilled. He was always bad at showing the latter, though. He blinked nervously, shoving his hands into his pockets. “That’s, uh,” he cleared his throat. “Wow.” He was truly rendered speechless.
Doug: Doug’s eyes widened. Immediately, his cheeks and ears flushed. He glanced around, as if worried it was a prank. “Me?” His hands folded in front of him, twiddling his thumbs nervously. “Are you sure?” He seemed nervous, as if he didn’t fully believe them. “Why? Why me?” He always seemed so shy, so insecure within himself, but he was the sweetest person Y/N knew. “Of course,” was all they could think to say. The coloring in his face and ears grew deeper. “Wow,” he breathed, stunned and excited.
Carley: Carley froze in the midst of stirring the food she was about to eat. Her gaze slowly dragged over to Y/N, too stunned to speak. She pointed to herself silently and looked around, wondering if they were speaking to someone else. Slowly, she set her food down. “Me?” She hushed, “really?” Slowly, a smile crept over her face. She picked up her food, smiling giddily into it. “Maybe we’ll have to do something about that then.”
Lilly: Lilly was holding her gun, pausing from her supervision over the Motor Inn, when Y/N approached him. Her eyes widened, she glanced from side to side, ensuring no one else was listening, and pulled them aside. “You better not be joking.” She threatened, her grip on her gun tightening. “I’m not?” Y/N said, feeling concerned. They lifted their hands up, as if obeying. “Really, I’m interested in you.” Lilly glanced around again, ensuring no one was putting her up to a prank. Finally, she sighed. “Come to my room at 9. I’m off then.” Before she turned away, Y/N could see the red in her cheeks.
Ben: Ben immediately became flushed. His ears, cheeks, and neck turned into a bright pink. “What?” His hands nervously fiddled together, fingers folding in on themselves. “You’ve gotta be kidding,” he paused, “right?” He seemed stunned - shocked - that someone even had the thought of liking him. He gulped, rubbing his neck and looking away. “Maybe,” he cleared his throat and twiddled his thumbs. “Maybe we can talk later? Somewhere, uh, private?” Y/N was thrilled, and based on his smile, they knew he was too.
Molly: Molly choked on the water she was drinking when they confessed, clasping a hand over her mouth. She froze, slowly turning her gaze to them. “You’re kidding,” she paused, waiting for them to respond. She pointed to herself and chuckled. “Me? Really?” Molly went to giggle again until she noticed their sincere stare. Suddenly, her ears flushed red. She turned away before they could see the rising heat in her neck. She cleared her throat. “Uh, cool, yeah. Awesome.” She was so horrible with situations like this.

Firsts Part 3: Fight
Firsts Part 3: Fight
Kenley hummed as she scribbled on a piece of paper, Jamie splattered paint onto a table and AJ stared out the window.
“AJ,” Said Sarita, crouching next to him, “is everything alright?”
“Clem’s angry.” Mumbled AJ, “Mommy said that Clem’s birth parents wanted her.”
Sarita frowned, she’d heard about Clementine’s birth parents in passing from Kenny and, sometimes, Clementine herself. She looked up and spotted Molly and Christa talking to each other, Sarita turned her eyes back to AJ.
“How about you draw something for her to make her feel better?” Suggested Sarita, as she gently led AJ to the table.
F
Clementine stalked around the room, the rest of her friend group watching her. She hadn’t told them about her ‘parents’ phone call. Duck frowned as he watched Clementine pace.
“I’ve never seen Clem this angry.”
Sarah hummed, frowning as Clementine threw a rock-melting glare at the door. Gabe sighed through his nose, before getting up and walking over to Clementine.
“Hey, Clem.” Said Gabe, making Clementine stop and look up at him, “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah,” Scoffed Clementine, through gritted teeth, “everything’s perfect.”
“No, it isn’t.” Stated Gabe, frowning, “You’re angry at something, and you’re bottling it up.”
“So?” Demanded Clementine, fixing him with a glare, “What’s it to you?”
“I’m worried about you,” Said Gabe, “you’ve been glaring at everything in front of you.”
“As if anyone actually cares.” Scoffed Clementine, turning away from him, “You all say you care, that you’ll always be around, but you all swan off and fucking leave.”
“Really?” Snapped Gabe, glaring at Clementine.
“Yeah.” Snarled Clementine, her face getting red, “But, I wouldn’t expect you to understand.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You’ve practically lived with a silver spoon in your mouth.”
“No, I haven’t.”
“You still have your parents.”
“And that’s a good thing?”
“You never had to worry about anyone dropping you and leaving you behind.”
“I lost my mom.”
“Yeah, and the replacement ran off with your uncle, how long do you think the thing with Ava will last?”
“You know what, I can see why your parents abandoned you.” Snapped Gabe, making Clementine physically flinch.
Clementine breathed heavily, before spinning on her heel and running out of the room.
“Great job.” Snarked Becca, chasing after Clementine, with Duck following her.
“Do you want me to tell you what went wrong, or do you want to figure it out for yourself?” Asked Gill, as Sarah, chewed on her bottom lip.
Gabe huffed, before following after Becca and Duck.
F
Clementine’s leg and chest burned. She’d used the gun that bad man had used on her parents. He’d kept her with him for two weeks. Clementine came to a sudden halt when she tripped over something. She looked back, and saw a strange looking lump, she let out a scream when it stood up.
A scruffy looking, old man rubbed the back of his head and looked around, confused, before spotting Clementine.
“Howdy.” Greeted the man, waving and Clementine, before she pointed the bad man’s gun at him, “Okay, not how I expected to wake up. What’s your name, darlin’?”
Clementine’s hands shook, she said nothing.
“My name’s Chuck,” Said Chuck, before pausing, “Charles if you’re fancy.”
Clementine swallowed, her eyes burned, and she dropped the gun. Chuck watched her as she dissolved into tears, before gently placing a hand on her shoulder.
“Hey, hey,” Murmured Chuck, gently. He frowned as the little girl blubbered out something about being hungry and tired and cold and that she wanted her parents. Chuck sighed through his nose, before looking at a tin in his sleeping bag. The girl gripped his hand, making him sigh again, “Well, it ain’t clean, but you can have this.”
Chuck took his coat off and draped it over her shoulders. He gently guided her to his sleeping bag and he grabbed his tin and let her lie down. Within seconds, she was asleep. Keeping an eye on her, Chuck walked up to a nearby payphone.
After putting in 9-1-1, he spoke, “Hey, I have a little girl who wandered into me carrying a gun, she looks like she’s been abused.”
Chuck was quiet as the dispatcher spoke.
“I’m on Augusta Avenue, no, I won’t go anywhere.” Chuck hung up the phone. He watched over the girl until the police officer arrived.
F
Chuck was jerked from his memories, when a young woman tripped over his bag. He frowned, she was clearly upset, but she looked familiar.
“Howdy.” Greeted Chuck, making the woman freeze.
After hastily wiping her eyes, she looked at him, “Chuck?”
Chuck squinting at her, before recognising her, “Clementine?”
The two stared at each other, before Clementine threw her arms around him.
“Clementine!” Yelled someone, Chuck looked over and spotted a tall man and an average height woman running up to them. The man slowed down, before frowning at him, “Chuck?”
“You’re in better spirits.” Said Chuck, smiling up at Duck.
F
“Wait, wait, wait, wait,” Laughed Becca, as Duck’s face went red, “She managed to get you to eat a beetle?”
Chuck chuckled as Duck spluttered out an excuse. He’d learnt that Clementine had ran all the way from a friends house on the other side of town after a fight with her boyfriend. He’d decided to walk them back to said friend’s house, entertaining them with stories of his travels and the last few times he saw Duck and Clementine.
“You doin’ alright?” Asked Chuck, glancing at Clementine.
“I’m fine.” Muttered Clementine, looking at the ground.
“I might not know much about this fight you had,” Said Chuck, looking a head of them, “but bottling it up, it ain’t goin’ to make your relationship last long.”
“If I tell him, he’ll want nothing to do with me.” Murmured Clementine, carefully making sure that Duck and Becca couldn’t hear her.
“Then that’s his problem.” Said Chuck, bluntly, “If he can’t accept you for who you are, then he ain’t worth your time.”
Clementine swallowed, and nodded. She looked up and searched of a sign that had the street name written on it. She mentally noted that they were near Gabe’s home.
“I,” Clementine swallowed, as Duck and Becca turn back to look at her, “I’m going to talk to Gabe.”
“Do you want us to come with you?” Asked Duck, frowning at her.
“No, I, I need to do this alone.” Declined Clementine, before taking a deep breath and walking towards Gabe’s house.
“Good luck.” Said Chuck, before he turned around, “I should’ve come to this side of town sooner, they have a shelter.”
F
Clementine swallowed nervously, as she knocked on the front door of Gabe’s home. She heard a pair of feet rushing towards the door, before it was flung open and Gabe stared at her. Before she could open her mouth, Gabe grabbed her arms and pulled her close to him.
“I’m sorry.” Mumbled Gabe, into the top of Clementine’s head, “I shouldn’t’ve said that, I’m so sorry.”
Clementine swallowed, “We, er, we need to talk about something, privately.”
Gabe frowned and swallowed, before he led her up to his room. After closing the door and looking at Clementine, “Is it about the fight?”
“Kinda,” Clementine winced and swallowed, “You, you know that my birth parents abandoned me on the side of the freeway and I was hit by a car, right? I was four, almost five at the time, and a couple of months after they abandoned me, I was fostered by a couple, their names were Lee and Carley. I was with them for two years, be-before,” Clementine swallowed thickly, “before some stranger forced his way in and killed them in front of me.”
Gabe swallowed, as Clementine continued, “He, he shot Carley and slit Lee throat. T-those dark patches on my hat… those, those are from Lee and Carley. I, I haven’t washed it because it’s the last thing I have to them a-and,” Gabe reached out and grabbed Clementine’s hand, “i-if those are gone, t-then it’ll be like I lose them all over again.”
“It’s okay.” Murmured Gabe, moving close to Clementine.
Clementine sniffled and wiped at her eyes, “A-after that stranger took me, he, he would beat, starve a-and touch me, for t-two weeks. I was seven and I was raped by some sick fuck.” Clementine took a deep breath, “I-I m-managed t-to t-take his gun from his bag. I shot him.”
“You mean, like, through the legs?” Asked Gabe, making Clementine shake her head.
“As, as in, through the head.” Clementine stared at the floor, “I ran out of the place he was keeping me and I just ran, Kenny thought I must’ve run the length of Savannah, before I tripped over Chuck. He’s a homeless guy that helped me get back to Kenny.”
Gabe nodded and wrapped an arm around her.
“T-then Katjaa committed suicide and I was place with Omid and Christa, they gave me up after a couple of months, I-I don’t know the specifics. I got placed with Mom and Dad for the first time, I, I was a terror to them, I stole their car and crashed it into a tree and got hit by another car while trying to get away from the wreck.”
Gabe tightened his grip of Clementine, “I was then placed with a couple, called Leland and Dee, I was with them for three weeks, before I was abandoned again. I then went to Lilly and Mark, at the start they were great, it was like we were almost a family and I fucked it up by asking them to take me to see a nearby dairy farm.”
“You, you mean the St. John cannibals?” Asked Gabe, getting a nod from Clementine.
“They, they killed Mark and fed him to us, Larry, Lilly’s dad, had a heart attack and Lilly tried to kill me, she’s the reason I only have half a finger on my right hand. I was beaten, starved and raped, again. Then Daryl found me, he came looking for a friend of his, he had a police officer with him. I don’t know what they did, but they rescued me from them. I was with Daryl for three weeks, before he was forced to return me to social care because he didn’t have a job. I then was placed with Daryl’s friend, Rick. He returned me to social care because he was moving and was divorcing his wife.”
“I think I’ve met him.” Murmured Gabe, pulling Clementine close to him.
“I was placed with Jane, who abandoned me during that dog incident,” Clementine forced herself to speak, “I was then handed over to a guy named Troy, I was beaten, starved, shot, stabbed, raped and forced to test drugs for him and his group.”
“How were you placed with him?” Asked Gabe, staring down at Clementine, who shrugged.
“Troy’s got nothing on Carver,” Warned Clementine, her throat tight, “He did all the things that Troy did, I saw him cave a guy’s head in, Wyatt I think his name was, with a salt lick. He had me hauling car parts and all that shit. When I was with Daryl, he had me start building my strength up, he’s the one that introduced me to Ava. I kept in contact with her while I was being thrown around by Troy and Carver. I tried to get away from Carver by stealing his truck. I ran him over and called Ava, a couple months later and I was back with Mom and Dad.”
Clementine worriedly gazed up at Gabe, before he pulled her into a tight hug.
“You’re, you’re not angry or, or disgusted?” Asked Clementine, after Gabe pulled away.
“I am at them, not you.” Said Gabe, quietly, “You’re strong, you survived all that. I guess that’s why I love you.”
“W-what?”
“I love you, Clementine.” Repeated Gabe, “It’d take a lot more to change that.”
Clementine gave a wobbly smile. The two rested their foreheads together, before Gabe spoke, “Not to, erm, not to seem rude or anything, but why are you telling me all this?”
“If I didn’t now, I probably never would.” Answered Clementine, before glancing to the side, “Last week, Mom and Dad received a phone call. They, they said they were my birth parents.”
Gabe swallowed, “Oh shit.”
F
Rebecca looked at her phone after it pinged, she’d received a text from Clementine.
Staying over @ Gabe’s.
Rebecca frowned, before looking back at email Bonnie had sent her. A list of lawyers that could take on the Marshes, should they try and legally attempt to get custody of Clementine. She’d been with them for nearly six years, they weren’t going to give her up.
Rebecca eyed a name on the list, she and Alvin would make an appointment to speak with Ms. Hawthorn next week.

Oh my god talking about underrated women in TWDG—season 1? Molly??? Her storyline was cool but this woman for real shows up with her parkour/pickaxe combo, kicks ass, then just dips. I don’t doubt she’s still out there surviving.
MOLLY MY BELOVED!!!!
the way she wouldve killed both lee and kenny immediately if clem didnt sneak out to follow them lol. its so funny how fast she gets them both on their asses. shes definitely still out there somewhere taking names with hilda 💕

What’s a character who you dislike despite being generally well liked amongst fans
Oof, this is kinda hard cause I like most of the characters haha.
Probably Jane? She’s gotten a little more popular over the years. I do think she’s kinda cool and I understand why she does what she does. But the game never really gave us much to work with in my opinion, I never formed an attachment to her or bought the idea that she and Clem had formed some kind of “bond.” Anything I liked about her kinda flew out the window when she left and then came back during the russian shootout.
In my opinion, she shouldn’t have come back after leaving the group, but I think at that point during the games development they had decided they can’t do Luke VS Kenny anymore so had to bring her back.
The baby stunt still ticks me off. She set Kenny off and got him killed (if Clem shoots him), nearly got AJ killed, all to prove a point. Kenny did almost kill her, but like he and others pointed out, she could’ve stopped the fight at any time by telling them AJ was alive, but didn’t. She kept provoking him, even when he was seconds away from killing her.

Hoi! anon again!! so i wanted to ask something abt Dotwd this time. i wanted to ask if you had any "what-ifs" abt twdg & Dotwd. like what if lee & clem went with lilly during episode 3?
Ooooh you don't know WHAT you just asked me o(〃^▽^〃)o
Tumblr media
[None of this is canon to DoTWD, by the by]
So on a Discord call with my friend, I remember he asked me this SPECIFICALLY. Because we were watching a TWDG "What If" vids on YouTube and one vid was what if Lee went with Lilly. So he asked me, in the context of DoTWD, how would that play out if it were to happen.
Well, not-really-spoilers-anymore but Ben is written to be Rachel's brother. And personally, I can't see Ray leaving Ben permanently in any scenario, that's just not her. Not to mention Lilly doesn't trust Ben at fucking all. So how would that work out?
Lee would have to lie to her. But the minute she realizes, and Clem does, she'd be piiiised. I don't think she'd talk to him for a minute. Hard snub him. Personally, I believe Ray would abuse any opportunity to get back to him.
But the one I wrote for is Lee leaving her with Kenny, Ben, Travis and Chuck. Since Lee isn’t there, neither is Clem. She’d be crushed along with Kenny who’d rightfully feel betrayed. The train would take longer w/o him, meaning they’d put Duck down before leaving, and Katjaa would die just the same as in canon. This also means they missed Christa and Omid.
I think Ben would confide in Travis about what happened, and Travis would be the one to tell him to keep that shit quiet.
They get to Savannah. Molly tolls the bells and they get to the manor. Since there’s only 4 of them, they’d all go together down to River Street and see no boats. They find Molly (after Kenny gets his ass folded) and she helps them get back to the manor with Ray’s convincing. Meaning no Vernon.
So, they’re herd and stuck moping the boat situation. Ray wanders outside to be alone. I should to mention that Ray would be really quiet and reserved since Lee took Clem and left with Lilly. I mean, seeing your father figure literally abandon you and take your surrogate sister with him for someone who tried to kill your brother and killed another member of the group is a lot for a now 9-year-old to fully process. I think like she would feel confused and hurt more than anything. As to how she’d find the boat; she’d probably just open it for no reason, she’s naturally curious. When she finds it, she runs inside and gets the guys (Molly sticks around still).
Kenny inspects it and says all it needs is gas and a battery. Travis suggests Crawford, they go to Crawford. Minus Brie and Vernon, Molly would handle the role of where everything is but it’ll take long due to less people. Ben doesn’t do that dumb thing Telltale made him do for comedic effect but let’s say the walkers banging on the door causes the axe to slip from the handles and it’s go time. Ben, thinking it’s the end of the line, confesses, and Travis has to stop Kenny’s (big) ass from mauling Ben. Kenny says he’s not getting on that boat with them, but Ra says she’s not leaving anywhere without Ben, and Travis is more on the lines of “I know he fucked up royally but we can discuss this when we aren’t about to die”.
They get through to the armory and Kenny gets that shotgun and covers them from behind. The get to the window leading out. Molly, Chuck, Kenny go first.
***
That bell goes off next to Ben and he gets snatched by Oberson like in canon. Travis would be the one to grab him, but he’s struggling. Ben tells him to let go, but Travis won’t hear it. Ray calls for Kenny to help them. Kenny comes back, but the look he gives Ben, it’s full of contempt, malice and disregard as he looks away and descends the ladder.
Travis isn’t strong enough to hold onto him alone. And Ben eventually slips from his grasp, and lands on the bottom of the bell tower. Crack.
Travis just stares until he hears Chuck hurry them from the ladder. Having to drown out Rachel’s gut turning screaming, he grabs her and escapes the tower.
The way home was awful. The time there was worse. Travis could get the girl to calm down even for a second. Throwing every object she could pick up at the fisherman, screaming any insult she could conjure at him until Molly told Travis all the noise was going to draw attention. Travis had to drag the poor child upstairs and lock her in the office until she just stopped. She did, after and hour. When she ran out of projectiles to throw at him, and energy to throw them. After a while, she just wanted to hide, and wanted Travis to go away.
Travis obliges, and he leaves her. He sits at the top of the stairs and just… thinks. He can still feel Ben’s grip around his hand.
He keeps replaying it, over and over. The sound of him screaming as he plummeted to his death, the sickening crack as his body collided with the wood, Rachel’s mortified screeching, and Kenny. Watching. Ignoring. Complicit.
Travis sees Kenny come near the stairs.
T: “Don’t. Don’t you fucking come near us.”
The older man doesn’t argue, and returns to the bottom of the stairs.
Eventually, it was time to leave. The boat was repaired. The choice of who was coming was to be made there and now. Kenny didn’t want to in Savannah any longer.
Molly opted to go on her own. She was always better on her own anyways.
Chuck was still displeased with what happened at the bell tower, but seeing as he had no other plans. He chose to go.
Travis, on the other hand, didn’t know what the fuck to do. It hasn’t been three hours and he’s being forced to chose between staying behind in a dead city or going with the asshole who was complicit in his best friend’s death. At that point, he retreated back into the office with Ray, who’d bawled herself into a restless sleep. He had to think of them; himself and Ray. She’d have another meltdown if he chose to tag along with Kenny in that stupid, fucking boat. Hell, he’d have to make sure she didn’t murder the man or toss him overboard in his sleep. On the other hand, staying in Savannah with no chance to make it out alone was a death sentence.
Travis shook the girl awake. Tiredly, she looked at him, silent.
T: “… he fixed the boat.” R: “…” T: “He said—” R: “I don’t care.” T: “…” R: “…” T: “We can just get on. Ride until we dock somewhere, and go our own way. How’s that sound?” R: “…on our own?” T: “On out own. Anywhere you want.” R: “Anywhere?” T: “Mhm.” R: “… we can’t stay?”
Travis shook his head.
T: “This city’s tapped dry. And it’s full of walkers. I’m not gonna promise anywhere else is safer, but Savannah’s dead. I’m sorry.” R: “… Then mama’s dead, too, isn’t she?” T: “…” Rachel sat up, slumped. R: “…I don’t really care… I’ll wherever you go… just don’t leave me too, okay?”
Travis realized, he hadn't even fully processed that they'd both been abandoned at the same time. Just, discarded. Not even an after thought.
T: “Promise.”

Very Important Announcement
As of tonight, I have come to a very important decision regarding my works: I will be orphaning all of my shipping/romance stories.
Some of you may have seen this coming with the other decisions I've made in the last few months, but I imagine most of you are very shocked by this, so please let me explain.
For a long time now, I've had a growing distaste for the focus I've put on ship fics and romance in the past. Even with me now writing non-romance fics, they are still vastly outnumbered by the fics that do have romance as a major component. Looking at my account statistics, the vast majority of the numbers in every category are mostly from ship fics. This domination is not the way I want my account to go, and it's not the identity I want to have as a writer. Thus, in order to "rebrand" myself as a non-romance writer and fully change direction, I will be orphaning all my stories that have romance as a major component, including my Amphibia and TGAMM oneshot collections. Through this I will have a fresh start without having to move to a new account.
Keep in mind that I am merely orphaning these works, not deleting them! Though I'm not very satisfied with them anymore, I know many people have loved them, and I don't want to just completely erase them from existence just because I don't like them anymore. By orphaning these works, people will still be able to read them, and they won't be lost to the void, so there's no need to fear that. When orphaning works, there's also an option to attach my name/pseud to the works even though they're not on my account anymore, which I'll be using to help avoid confusion when people see that they've been orphaned.
This is an absolutely huge step, and it's not one I take lightly. I've thought about this for a long time, and I've decided that it's the best way for me to be happy with my writing going forward. All of my ongoing fics, like The Long Road Home, Two's a Crowd, my TWDG What-If collection, and To Continue On will all be unaffected by this change, so fans of those works have no reason to worry about them.
Thank you all for your patience with me over these last few months. I've been going through a lot of changes in my personal life, and this is a really big milestone that I'm glad I've finally become brave enough to reach, even if I'm still a little worried about how people will react. I hope you'll all be understanding, and that those of you who are fans of my current ongoing stories will continue to be fans despite this upheaval.
Thank you very much for reading this, and for all your support over the years I've been writing. I hope you'll be with me for many more to come.

Firsts Part 1
Firsts Part 1: First Date
Clementine looked around, before slipping out the door. She breathed a quiet sigh, before checking around to make sure Duck and Kenny hadn’t spotted her. She breathed another sigh and walked towards the bus stop.
“Clementine?”
The girl froze, before slowly pivoting on her heel, “Sarita, hi…”
“Where are you going?” Asked Sarita, frowning.
“I’m going to hang out with someone.” Answered Clementine, glancing around.
“Duck didn’t say anything about a hang out.” Murmured Sarita, leaning against the fence.
“It’s more of a two person hang out,” Said Clementine, nervously glancing around, “I have to go.”
“Clem, you do know that if someone’s threatening you…” Sarita trailed off as she realised what Clementine meant, “Do Rebecca and Alvin know you have a date?”
“…yes?”
Sarita raised an eyebrow.
“…no.”
“Why haven’t you told them?”
“Because, they go into over protective mode and interrogate them to kingdom come!” Burst Clementine, “I told them that I was hanging out with someone, but, please, don’t tell them.”
Sarita frowned, before sighing, “Go on, you’re going to miss the bus.”
Clementine gave Sarita a thankful smile, before running down to the bus stop and hopping onto the bus.
Sarita sighed, before leaning back and looking at Rebecca, “How long has thing been going on?”
“About a week.” Answered Rebecca, “Gabe left a voicemail for Clem on the home phone. We made sure to ask Clem to check the messages after Alvin found it.”
Sarita winced, before folding her arms, “How long do you think it’ll last?”
“I have no idea.” Shrugged Rebecca, taking a sip of her coffee.
F
Gabe spotted Clementine standing at their arranged meeting place and jogged up behind her, “You’re not going to believe how hard it was to give Ava the slip.”
“She taught me how to fight, remember?” Stated Clementine, “I think I’ve still got bruises from that time she had me break down a door.”
“You got bruises on your feet?” Questioned Gabe, looking down at her.
“Nope, I body slammed the door,” Answered Clementine, “or, at least, I did, until Ava took pity on me and opened the door.”
Gabe let out a snort, getting a swat on the arm from Clementine.
“Sorry, but Ava’s never shown me that luxury.” Defended Gabe, “At most, she’s told me to use my head.”
Clementine stopped, “Wait… did you head butt the door?”
“…no.”
Clementine snorted, before breaking into giggles. Gabe mock glared at her, which only made Clementine giggle harder.
“It was a good idea at the time.” Defended Gabe, as they reached the skate rink.
“S-sorry.” Giggled Clementine, “W-what did Ava say?”
“She told me to leave the door breaking for the day.” Answered Gabe, guiding Clementine into the skate rink.
Clementine looked around the lobby, smiling as a memory returned to her.
F
“Are you sure Daddy and Mommy are alright with this?” Asked Clementine, looking up at her babysitter after Lee and Carley left for their appointment.
“Sure,” Answered Molly, looked down at Clementine, “if you’re allowed to shoot, you old enough to skate.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“What about Ben?” Clementine looked up at Molly expectantly.
“I tried, and failed.” Answered Molly, looking ahead of her, “He kept landing on his ass.”
“Swear.”
“Sorry.”
Clementine held onto Molly’s hand as they rented some skates and walked to the rink area, “Okay, while we’re in there, you might want to hold onto my hand.”
Clementine nodded, gripping Molly’s hand as she shuffled onto the rink. She slipped slightly, Molly keeping her up right. Clementine giggled as Molly guided her around the rink, preventing her from falling down and hurting herself.
At the end of the trip, Clementine was slumped against Molly, the woman carrying Clementine to Lee and Carley’s home.
“Hey, wake up kid.” Murmured Molly, waking Clementine, “We’re home.”
Clementine rubbed her eyes, stretching as Molly put her down. The six-year-old stumbled towards the door.
“Are you excited for your birthday tomorrow?” Asked Molly, getting a sleepy nod from Clementine.
“Uh-huh.”
“Alright,” Said Molly, reaching for the door, “let’s get you to bed.”
F
Clementine shook her head, “Sorry, got lost in a memory.”
Gabe grasped her hand, “Do you want to talk about it?”
“Not yet.”
Gabe frowned, but said nothing. Duck and the others had told him that Clementine would share her past with him when she feels ready to. He distracted himself by looking at the counter and rented some roller skates for him and Clementine.
“You ever been roller skating before?” Asked Gabe, looking at Clementine.
“Once.” Answered Clementine, “A long time ago.”
“Cool.” Gabe gently guided her towards the rink.
The couple slowly moved around the rink together, both laughing when they lost their balance and staggered, the pair were so busy laughing with each other, they didn’t spot Becca staring at them with a slack jaw.
F
Clementine closed the front door as quietly as she could. The windows were dark, so she assumed everyone else had gone to bed.
“So,” Said Rebecca, turning on a light and making Clementine scream, “how was your date?”
“What? Date? Me?” Clementine stammered, “With who? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Your date with Gabe.” Stated Rebecca, folding her arms across her chest, “The one that you organised last week, when he called here.”
Clementine froze, before cursing.
“Swear.” Said AJ, looking up at Clementine from his father’s lap.
“Sorry.”
“So?” Pressed Rebecca, getting Clementine’s attention, “How did it go? What did you do?”
“It was fine, and we went to that roller rink.” Answered Clementine, feeling her cheeks heat up, “And it wasn’t a date, we were just hanging out.”
“Hanging out. Just the two of you.” Rebecca raised an eyebrow, “When I was your age, we called that a date.”
Clementine leaned against the door, pulled her hat down to cover her eyes and groaned. Rebecca smirked, “But, I suppose I should ‘get with the times’.”
Clementine peeked out from under her hat, “Please don’t say that. That just sounds wrong.”
“But I thought you wanted me to ‘get down with the kids’?” Said Rebecca, smugly, while Clementine struggled to stop a smile, “But, seriously, you don’t have to hide the fact you’re dating someone. Even if you think Alvin and I will go into ‘over-protective’ mode.”
“Sarita told you about that?”
“No, I was having a coffee and talking to her when you snuck out.” Stated Rebecca, making Clementine wince.
F
“Why don’t you call mommy ‘mom’?” Asked AJ, making Clementine look down at him. Her friends were over for their weekly ‘study session’, and they all froze, waiting to hear Clementine’s response.
“You know how I said Rebecca gave birth to you?” Asked Clementine, thinking back to the previous fortnight when AJ finally managed to get her to explain where babies came from.
“Yeah.”
“Well, Rebecca didn’t give birth to me, she and Alvin foster me.” Said Clementine, hoping AJ would drop the subject.
“What fuss ter ring?” Asked AJ, confused.
“Fostering. It’s basically something a couple does when they look after a child who isn’t with their parents.” Answered Clementine, nervously playing with a spinner ring on her finger.
“Why aren’t you with your parents then?” Clementine sucked in a deep breath.
“Because, I’m not.”
“But, why?”
“Just because, okay, AJ.” Clementine grit out.
“What going on?” Asked Rebecca, look in from the doorway.
“Clementine isn’t with her parents.” Said AJ, looking up at Rebecca.
“Clem explained what fostering is.” Explained Duck, look up at Rebecca from his seat, “He originally asked why you didn’t call you and Alvin mom and dad.”
“Why aren’t you with your parents?” Asked AJ, making Clementine flinch.
“J-just b-because.”
“Why?”
“AJ, maybe we should leave it for now.” Suggested Rebecca, noticing Clementine tensing up.
“Why isn’t she with her parents?” Asked AJ, making Clementine snap.
“Because they were fucking assholes, who didn’t want a little brat bothering them every five minutes and dumped her on the side of the road and left her to get hit by a fucking car.” AJ jumped as Clementine answered, “They didn’t want me and got rid of me, because they fucking decided to!”
AJ trembled slightly as he stared up at her, while Clementine breathed heavily. The room was silent, before Clementine spun on her heel and stalked out of the room.
“Well,” Said Becca, after a moment, “that answers some questions.”
“M-mommy,” Whimpered AJ, making Rebecca look down, “does Clem hate me now?”
“I don’t think so, sweetie.” Answered Rebecca, before looking at Sarah, “Could you watch him, please? I need to check on Clem.”
Sarah nodded and gently guided AJ to the living room, the rest of the group abandoning their homework to help with AJ.
Rebecca sighed as she stood by Clementine’s door, before knocking on the wood.
“Go away.”
“Clem, I just want to talk.”
“I don’t care.”
Rebecca sighed, “Clem, I’m coming in.”
Before Clementine could protest, Rebecca pushed the door open. Clementine was sitting on her bed, facing away from Rebecca.
“I want to be left alone.”
“I just want to talk to you.”
“About what? That I’ll be gone tomorrow? I kinda figured that.” Snapped Clementine, making Rebecca frown.
“You’re not going anywhere.” Corrected Rebecca, “But you need to talk about what you said downstairs.”
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
“Yes, there is.” Rebecca sighed, as Clementine looked down and balled her fists on her lap.
“No, there isn’t.”
“Clem, what did you mean about that car?” Asked Rebecca, slowly approaching Clementine.
“Nothing.”
“Clem, please, I’m just trying to help.” Pleaded Rebecca, sitting down next to Clementine.
“It’s-” Clementine’s voice cracked, “It’s nothing.”
“Clem…”
“Why do you care? You’re not my mom! I don’t even have a mom!” Exploded Clementine, “Do you even know what happens when someone has me call them that?!”
“Clem…”
“Why did you and Alvin keep me, anyway?!” Demanded Clementine, looking at Rebecca. Clementine’s eyes were bloodshot and red-rimmed, her breath seemed to keep catching in her throat and tears threatened to spill down her cheeks.
“What do you mean?” Asked Rebecca, making Clementine jump to her feet.
“I’m bad luck. Kenny had me, Katjaa killed herself. Lilly had me and her dad and boyfriend died. Jane h-had me and l-left me to die!” Screamed Clementine, her hands gripping her own biceps.
“Clem, breathe.” Instructed Rebecca, gently grabbing Clementine’s shoulders, “Look at me.”
“Do you want to know why I don’t call you mom?” Asked Clementine, tears running down her face.
“Why?” Whispered Rebecca, looking at Clementine.
“Because the last person I called that, was Carley and watched her get shot in the face.” Clementine’s voice broke.
Rebecca froze, before Clementine close to her, the girl stiffened before crumbling against Rebecca. Loud, gut-wrenching sobs filled the room. Rebecca felt the shoulder of her shirt become wet as Clementine cried.
“It’s okay.” Whispered Rebecca, gently rubbing Clementine’s back, “It’s going to be alright.”
That only made Clementine cry harder, “I-I-I’m s-s-sorryy. I’m sorry.”
Rebecca stayed silent, gently rubbing the girl’s back. She had a feeling that they’d have a long talk once Clementine calmed down.
F
Clementine blew out the candles on the cake Lee and Carley got her. The couple gave each other a knowing looked, knowing the extra surprise for Clementine hidden underneath the cake.
“Did you remember to make a wish?” Asked Carley, getting a giggle from Clementine.
“Yes, mommy.”
Carley picked up a knife to cut the cake, when the doorbell rang.
“We’re not expecting anyone, are we?” Asked Lee, making Clementine look up at him.
“Kenny and Katjaa said they couldn’t make it,” Answered Carley, putting the knife down, “it’s probably some salesman or something.”
Clementine reached over and grabbed the hat Lee gave her, before following after Carley, Lee chuckling and shaking his head. He stood up and took the dinner plates out to the kitchen so he could wash them after they finished celebrating.
Clementine stopped a couple of feet behind Carley, watching her open the door.
“Hel-” There was a loud pop and Carley’s head suddenly rocked back, blood splattered Clementine’s front. Carley fell to the floor and Lee came rushing out of the kitchen.
“What the hell?!” Demanded Lee, before spotting the stranger in the doorway, Carley’s body and Clementine staring at Carley’s body. Without a second thought, Lee quickly grabbed Clementine and rushed her towards the kitchen.
Lee grunted as he felt a bullet enter his side, Clementine cried out when the bullet hit her leg after it passed through Lee. He put Clementine down and shut and locked the door to the kitchen, before he crouched in front of her.
“Clem,” Said Lee, making Clementine look up at him, “Sweet Pea, are you alright?”
“My leg hurts.” Whimpered Clementine, looking up at Lee, “Daddy, what happened to Mommy?”
Lee swallowed, “She’s been hurt, Sweet Pea, badly.”
“Can’t you kiss her better?” Lee wanted to laugh at Clementine’s innocence.
“There are some things that can’t be kissed better, Sweet Pea.” Murmured Lee, as a bullet came through the lock. The stranger cursed, before kicking at the door. Lee looked at the back door, before growling at the tree branch blocking it.
“Clem, Sweet Pea, I need you to do something for me.” Said Lee, making Clementine look up at him again.
“W-what?”
“I need you to hide, you know, like how you hide from me when we’re playing a game.” Murmured Lee, getting a small nod from Clementine.
Just as Clementine nodded, the door flung open and the stranger barrelled in, he brandished the knife that was going to be used on the cake and ran the sharp implement along Lee’s throat. Lee could only stare in shock at the blood that hit Clementine, before the world went dark.
Clementine stared down at Lee and started crying and screaming. She felt a sharp pain on the side of her head, and everything went dark.
F
Bonnie looked up from her phone, Rebecca slid into the seat across from her, she had asked to meet her the previous week but didn’t tell her why. Rebecca looked like she had been getting little sleep, which was understandable, given she and Alvin were raising a teenager and a small child.
“What’s wrong?” Asked Bonnie, wincing as Rebecca glared at her.
“Nothing’s wrong, did you know Clem was hit by a car when her parents abandoned her?”
Bonnie froze, “N-no, I didn’t. It wasn’t mentioned in any of her briefs. Where’d you hear it?”
“From Clementine, AJ asked her why she didn’t call me mom.” Explained Rebecca, “He was unusually insistent about it, Clem explained what fostering was and he then asked her about her parents.”
Bonnie winced, knowing that was a tender subject with Clementine.
“Yeah, Clem didn’t want to talk about it, after she broke down.” Muttered Rebecca, before sighing, “Look, who do I need to speak to about her?”
“What do you mean?” Asked Bonnie, dread piling in her stomach.
“I think you know what I mean, Bonnie.”
F
“So,” Said Becca, looking over at Clementine and Gabe, “When were you two going to tell us you were dating?”
The entire group stilled, before Sarah dropped her book and Duck’s chair fell back.
“What?” Asked Gill, looking up from his latest magazine.
“What are you talking about?” Asked Sarah, glancing at the frozen Clementine and Gabe.
“I saw them on a date a couple weeks ago.”
Duck slowly turned and looked at Gabe.
“Gabe.” Said Clementine, jerking him out of his shock, “Run.”
“W-what?”
“Run!”
Within seconds, Gabe had bolted out of the cafeteria, with Duck charging behind him.
“GET BACK HERE, YOU SON OF A BITCH!” Bellowed Duck, as he and Gabe vanished.
Clementine’s face screwed up and she buried her face in her arms, “Kill me now.”
“Can’t do that,” Dismissed Becca, “your birthday’s next week, and I’m not going to miss free cake.”
“Why am I friends with you guys?”
“Because we’re the only ones crazy enough to ignore all your red flags.”
Clementine was silent, “Okay, good point.”
F
“Remember to make a wish.” Said Sarah, as Clementine peeked out from behind her hands.
“Please promise me you’ll never do that again?”
“No, we’ll sing you happy birthday every year.”
Clementine quietly grumbled, before blowing out the candles. Small slivers of smoke fluttered to the ceiling, Clementine tried not to compare today to her seventh birthday. The sound of the knife passing through the cake and hitting the board jerked her from her memories. Clementine was passed a slice of cake, which she then passed along to AJ. The child grabbed a fistful of cake and shoved it against his mouth. Icing smeared across his face as he messily ate the cake. Sarah grimaced at the sight, before she was passed her own slice. After everyone had a slice, Rebecca spoke.
“Clem, you forgot a present.”
Clementine frowned, before looking around and spotting a box sitting on the floor next to her, “How long’s that been there?”
“A while.” Answered Alvin, as Clementine pushed her slice of cake away from her and picking the box up. She frowned, before pulling on the ribbon on the box, undoing the bow. She opened the box and frowned at a single brown envelope.
“This isn’t going to shock me, right?” Asked Clementine, looking up at Rebecca and Alvin.
“Nope.”
Clementine tentatively picked the envelope up and opened it. She pulled a document out and looked at it, before freezing. She’d seen one of these before, shortly after Lee and Carley were murdered.
“What’s it say, Clem?” Asked Sarah, making Clementine swallow.
“It, it’s a certificate. ‘This document is it certify that Clementine Marsh-Everett h-has been formally a-ad-adop-,” Clementine swallowed, before getting out of her chair and launching herself at Rebecca and Alvin.
The couple rocked back slightly as Clementine collided with them. She buried her faces in a shoulder, she wasn’t sure who’s, “Thank you.”
AJ wandered over and hugged Clementine’s legs, “Does this you’re going to call them ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ now?”
Clementine swallowed and looked down at AJ, “Yeah, I am, Goofball.”
AJ grinned and tightly hugged her leg, smearing icing over Clementine’s jeans.

Walking Dead Tales
If there is a new TWDG season, it should be this.
It's an anthology season that ties in pretty much all the loose ends of the story. Episode about Molly, episode about Christa, about Kenny(if you chose Wellington or left Kenny behind) episode about Jane(if you left her behind after shooting Kenny) episode about the remaining 400 days characters, episode about Mike, Arvo and Bonnie, episode about Javier and his family, episode about either Lilly or James depending on the choices you made and one final episode about Clem AJ and the Ericson school kids just living their live in school.(yeah fuck you, the comic is not canon) It's a nice way to finish up the last loose ends and a sweet send off to clem and the others. Not perfect but it's what i would like instead of a full season that continues the story after the final season.
