All of the Ganons in the Canon
I am once again warning people that if you haven't played Tears of the Kingdom, I'm going to be Spoiling a few key details. Please turn back now.
Tumblr media
The biggest revelation, in my opinion, has to be the fact that there are actual multiple versions of Ganon / Ganondorf in the Time Line of Legend of Zelda. We were approaching the Zelda Universe under the assumption that Ganon was always the same person, but "Demon King Ganon" that attacked the first King of Hyrule in TotK is clearly a different person from "Great King of Evil" Ganondorf from OoT.
I think we need to reconsider all the Ganons as completely different people.
"GANNON" the Prince of Darkness (Zelda 1)
Tumblr media
Very little is known about this version of Ganon. He leads an army of monsters, he stole the Triforce of Power, tried to take over the world, and captured Princess Zelda. He was DESTROYED at the end of Zelda 1, and there is a threat of his resurrection in Zelda 2.
[Special note - the original LoZ novel says Ganon was a demon king revived from a thousand years ago. Ganon's cycle of rebirth was there from the beginning.]
"Mandrag Ganon" (A Link to the Past)
Tumblr media
The second version of Ganon was called "Mandrag Ganon" by the U.S. instruction booklet. This version started out as a human leader of a band of thieves. It is hard to tell what exactly happened to him... did he automatically become a pig-demon when he entered the Golden Land, or did he transform into that after finding the Triforce. In the end he was obliterated by Link and the Silver Arrows.
Ganondorf, the Great King of Evil (Ocarina of Time)
Tumblr media
The most famous version of Ganon. As the only male Gerudo born to the predominantly female tribe, he was made a leader. He performed several acts of terrorism, usurped power, and was defeated by Link and the Seven Sages. He had two endings, one where he was sealed inside the Sacred Realm, and another timeline where he either was executed, banished, or he got away.
"Mindless Beast" Ganon (The Oracle Series)
Tumblr media
Ganon makes a brief appearance at the end of the Oracle games. He was resurrected incorrectly by Twinrova, so he came back with only the urge to destroy. He was once again killed by Link.
Ganondorf, the Master of the Forsaken Fortress (The Wind Waker)
Tumblr media
While Ganon from OoT might be the same person as WW Ganon, they could be different people considering how different their faces are. WW Ganon has a flat nose, while OoT Ganon has a pointed nose like many Gerudo. WW Ganon is likely a Gerudo since he mentions living in the desert with a group of his own people. This might be the most sympathetic version of Ganondorf in all of the games. Unfortunately for him, he dies at the end of Wind Waker.
Ganon, King of Darkness (The Four Swords Adventure)
Tumblr media
One often neglected version of Ganon is his appearance in TFSA. This version also began as a male Gerudo that was transformed by the Trident of Power, and the local monsters worship him. He was sealed inside the Four Sword at the end of the game.
"Dark Lord" Ganondorf (Twilight Princess)
Tumblr media
The next most prominent appearance of Ganon was his role in Twilight Princess. He started off as a desert thief, and powerful sorcerer. He tried to invade Hyrule, but was caught and banished to the Twilight Realm. He returned many years later, leading an invasion from the Twilight Realm, but was killed by Link at the end of the game.
"Demon King" Ganon (A Link Between Worlds)
Tumblr media
The Ganon that appears in ALBW is suspiciously similar to the one that appears in ALttP, but the previous version was destroyed by Link. This version says he had been sealed away, so it couldn't be the same one. In the end, the new Link destroyed his new Ganon again.
"Demon King" Ganon (Tears of the Kingdom)
Tumblr media
The newest incarnation of the curse of Demise and probably the earliest in the timeline. He is also a Gerudo chief that rebelled against the first King of Hyrule. He killed Queen Sonia, was sealed for 10,000 years, and he was ultimately killed by Link and Zelda at the end of the newest game.

⚡heheh gimme the Knowledge
Link, as we know, has been left handed since the very beginning of The Legend of Zelda's history, up until Twilight Princess Wii. Here are some interesting factoids about that:
Link was actually ambidextrous in the old NES/SNES games. That's because they didn't want to animate the side sprite twice, so when Link faced left, he was left handed, and when he faced right, he was right handed. This was also because the game designers also wanted you to always see him in spite of his shield being in the way.
Link preferred his left hand even while being ambidextrous, according to the Link to the Past game manual. It was also stated that the reason the shield is always facing away from the viewer is because Link was superstitious and always kept his shield pointed toward Death Mountain (at the top of the map).
I seem to recall Link being solely left handed in Link's Awakening, despite having a sprite the same as in A Link to the Past, Zelda 1, and Adventure of Link. I can't prove it, but I have memories of his shield facing the screen sometimes.
The reason they changed Twilight Princess' Link to being right handed in the Wii release was because of motion controls. Since most people are right handed, they figured it would be harder to parse if you swung your wiimote right, and Link swung his sword left.
In order to make Link right handed, they mirrored the entire game. That's right, Twilight Princess Wii is exactly opposite of Twilight Princess GameCube.
Other famous lefties include Bart Simpson, Kain Highwind, Spike from My Little Pony, Edward Elric (sort of)(he writes with his left hand while he has automail), Sailor Mars, and Sephiroth.

👑🐳👊🧚👍
This took me really long to respond because I am The Indecisive
👑 Favorite version of Zelda?
Honestly really hard to pick just one. I like BotW/TotK Zelda a lot because she has such a fantastic arc and you really feel for her and her story plus I find her very relatable...
Spirit Tracks Zelda is easily among my favorites too, her being a ghost and your companion makes her SO unique and she's really funny and cute and has one of the best relationships with her Link, and she also gets to shine in combat, too!
Skyward Sword Zelda also set the standard for her backstory and I think she's so likable but I do wish we saw more of her in general...
Ocarina of Time Zelda had such a cool story what with messing with forces she didn't necessarily understand while trying to plot against Ganondorf even though she was just a kid, not to MENTION the Sheik reveal which is just iconic tbh.
Both for Hyrule Warriors and Wind Waker I don't have much to say in general about them but I still really like their take charge, more active attitudes! I do hate how they lighten Tetra's skin color and remove her from being active in the plot when the reveal comes though... you hate to see it!
Twilight Princess Zelda... what can I say, she is an elegant sapphic icon and she will always be famous. I was a bit ticked off when they changed out her for ALBW Zelda in Smash because I think she is much more memorable.
I would be remiss not to mention Wand of Gamelon Zelda at least a lil' bit too... Idk she's cute and cheesy and I'm not sorry for including her. Maybe if Nintendo made her actually playable in their games I wouldn't have to do it but 💅
🐳 If you were a Zelda character, what race would you be?
Probably a Hylian boringly enough but I would kill to be one of those occasional enemies that does their own thing for some reason, like... I could be a wolfperson who can't eat their yogurt until you trade me a spoon for my boomerang or whatever.
👊 Favorite Zelda Villain/Boss?
Villain-wise, I love Hilda... she was clearly in the wrong but my god I can completely understand the desperation... Twinrova also I ALWAYS adore seeing whenever they pop up - I love me some comically evil grannies. Ghirahim and Yuga heard "slay" and said "this has multiple meanings and I'll do all of them," and honestly Ganon(dorf) is super cool always but I particularly enjoy his portrayals in ALttP, OoT, WW and TP. Shoutout to Veran and Onox too for variety's sake.
Too many cool bosses to mention but Koloktos is still my fave.
🧚 Favorite Zelda companion?
Uh-Oh... Here's the thing about me - I'm an Annoying Companion Enjoyer (tm) and I don't think I dislike any of them, even the infamous ones. Navi is my girl she was just trying to help and everyone attacks her and attacks her and attacks her... ungrateful behavior.
Tatl is so iconic and funny, I will always be mad they kinda toned down her mean girl-ness in the 3DS remake, even though I get that some of it was for accessibility reasons since a lot of her og comments just weren't helpful at all lmao... tho I think they could have struck a better balance.
Ciela is SO underrated, honestly. She had a good arc and I love her bickering with Linebeck so much.
Midna has the best story out of all of them and everything about her is excellence from her design to her attitude to her relationship with Link and Zelda... ugh she is so good, I miss her.
I've already said my piece about Zelda in Spirit Tracks BUT WHO CARES, HER AGAIN!!!
Fi is the only one who actually made me sob in real life from her last scene and I really enjoy her design and her dances and I genuinely think people forget how sassy she could be sometimes, not to mention being the actual Master Sword - I was ecstatic when they hinted at her existence again in BotW and TotK :)
👍 Favorite Zelda Headcanons?
The Triforce being in flux and changing aspects between its wielders in some games, like Zelda in BotW potentially holding Courage since her key scene was going up alone against Calamity Ganon and Link's usage of the runes and primary association with Blue could tie to him bearing Wisdom in them. If not just headcanon, I think it's a prime idea for fan content.
This one also maybe doesn't count as a headcanon per se but... the Zelda Timelines... I greatly enjoy speculating around them but I do believe taking it too seriously is generally just bunk. I don't think even the developers take them as a wholly 100% accurate and important deal and I think that's actually completely fine. I am an ALttP->Link's Awakening->Oracle Games truther btw.

“Watched” by OneWingedSparrow; Chapter 1
Last Chapter >>> Fic Summary: Despite Colin's worry for his safety, Link ventures to the barn at night to check on the goats, unaware of the events transpiring behind his back. Main Tags: Twilight Princess, pre-canon, Link & Rusl & Uli & Colin, TP Link & the Hero’s Shade, Ghosts, Suspense, Assassination Attempt, Angst with a Happy Ending, Found Family Read on AO3 Reblogs are appreciated! ~ Ordon Village didn’t see storms often, but when they came, they were something. Harvest season always brought more rain and wind than was typical. Fretting over Link’s safety in the newly built treehouse he had recently moved into, Uli always insisted that Link come over during heavy windstorms. While Link felt confident in the stability of his home under any weather conditions, he never protested the invitation, since visiting Rusl and Uli’s meant quality time with his adoptive family and an opportunity to chow down on Uli’s famous pumpkin and carrot soup. “Have some more,” Uli encouraged, and ladeled another helping into his bowl without asking for permission. “This season always leaves you hungrier than any other.” Link swallowed a bite of warm sourdough bread before replying. “I'd be happy to," he said with a grin. "Thanks, Uli." Seated beside Link at the table, Colin stirred his spoon through his soup over and over again, watching the herbs swirl around. “I want more, Mama, but I’m getting stuffed.” Uli raised an eyebrow at the empty plate before him, which was littered with crumbs. "Maybe someone had too much bread tonight, hmm?" "But the bread is good!" Colin exclaimed. "Right, Link?" Busy blowing on his soup, Link flashed him a thumbs-up. The outside door burst open then, shooing cold air and a very drenched Rusl into the house. “Mighty strong shower out there,” he commented, kicking his boots off. “Good thing Fado brought the goats in early tonight.” "Oh!" At the reminder, Link set down his spoon. “I should check on them. It’s my week for night patrol.” “But it’s dark out there,” Colin said worriedly. A particularly big gust of wind passed over the house, causing the roof to rattle. “I taught him how to use a sword, I think he’ll be all right,” Rusl said, taking a seat at the table. Uli shook the ladel at him. “No, you don’t, mister. Wash those grubby hands first!” With a sheepish grin, Rusl rose and headed for the washbasin. Colin glanced anxiously towards the window, though it was obscured by the curtains. Link slipped on his boots and shrugged on his parka. “I’ll be all right, Colin. I’m not afraid of the dark.” *        *        * A pleasantly steady shower drenched him before he’d even finished crossing the creek. The village was dark, the rainclouds having blocked out the moon and all stars, but Link knew his way over the muddy path well enough he could have confidently traversed it blind. Despite the water resistance of his parka, Link felt bogged down by the downpour, and was all too glad for the cozy shelter of the barn. Steady rain thrummed on the roof, but the goats were strangely silent. Usually they bleated a chorus of welcomes, or at the very least, shuffled around in their stalls, scuffing straw. "You're awful quiet," Link called out, slipping his hood off and shaking out his hair. There was no response, save for a gust blowing a spray through the open door. Link heaved it shut and bolted it. As the bolt clacked into place, his numb fingers froze over the grainy wood. Prickles crept up his neck.
His many years spent hunting with Rusl had trained him to recognize this feeling. The feeling of being watched. Uneasy jitters that could transform the hunter into the hunted, and convince even the most footloose wanderer that they were unlawfully trespassing. That dreadful awareness of being alone, with no one around to come to your aid. He was alone...but he wasn’t, because the goats were there. Forcefully, Link shook his head. He was safe. There was no danger. Nothing was wrong. No sense letting childish worries hinder his work. Whistling to himself, he made rounds, tending to each of the goats in turn. This wasn’t strictly part of his and Fado’s patrol—usually they checked the troughs for refilling and the stalls for mucking, and made sure the goats were settling down—but a certain unease drifted in the air, and he wanted to be certain the entire herd was fine. “Easy there, missus,” Link soothed the old nanny Dot as his fingers quickly carded a mat in the tangled wool on her back. “You’re trembling something awful.” Dot’s knobby legs didn’t stop shaking. Maybe she was cold. “Why so tense, Juniper?” he asked as he refilled a trough from a bulging burlap sack. “It’s just a good ole rain from Ordona, makin’ your grass nice and green again.” Juniper only stretched her big eyes wider, locked in a staring contest with nothing that he could see. “Silent treatment, huh?” Link raised an eyebrow at Bogo’s rump, which was turned his direction. “What’d me and Fado ever do to you today that you’re huffing about it?” The old goat faced the wall stubbornly, as if he couldn’t bear to look at Link. Link investigated every member of the herd, but found no clue as to what was causing them to act so strangely. Though dutiful and methodical, he neglected to look behind him. He did not see what passed straight through the old barn door, translucent as a cloud. A pale blue lantern floated through the air, teetering violently back and forth, slinking nearer to the boy like the gleaming eyes of a stalking predator. ~ Last Chapter >>>

We need more Time and Wild bonding
For you, Anon! And also for @1142 who requested the same thing!
Summary: Time sees his family, friends and other loved ones in his boys, but Wild especially is reminding him of himself this morning, and he wants to offer some encouragement to the poor kid.
youtube
It's quiet to read alone, listen to this!
Epona’s song drifted through the cool morning air.
The sound brought a smile to Time’s lips as he snuggled closer to the warmth pressed beside him, breathing in the clean morning air and tugging the blanket up higher on his shoulder.
He really didn’t want to wake up.
Although, he didn’t remember opening the bedroom window last-
Wait. They weren’t on the farm! They’d gone to sleep in the forest last night! There was no window to leave open, and no Malon singing or lying beside him. He shoots awake, pulling himself up with the intent of looking around camp, only to have something pull him back down towards the ground.
Looking down, he feels his scarred heart melt. Twilight twitches in his sleep, arms locking around his shoulders, sleepily groans sounding as the lad hangs off him, cold nose pressed to his neck. Tiny, whuffling snores sound from his pup as the younger man nuzzles closer, and he can only chuckle softly and rub his protégé's back lightly as he settled back down to let Twilight sleep.
He is curious who had been singing though.
A single blue eye takes in the camp as he props himself up slightly on his bedroll, careful not to disturb Twilight as he takes in where each of his boys lay.
Legend and Hyrule lay curled into each other, Legend clinging to his protégé while Hyrule’s hands lay buried in his mentor’s silky hair, a smile on the face of the younger and drool on the face of the elder*. Warriors lies close by, sprawled across his bedroll and snoring fit to wake the dead, utterly content and comfortable in the safety of his brothers and proving it with his noise. Opposite the three, Wind and Sky curl close, Sky’s sailcloth and their blankets thrown over the two leaving only Four’s left foot visible from between them.
His pup curls close to his side, one leg thrown over his waist and arms locked tight around his shoulders, holding him in place and preventing him from rising, but the bedroll on his left...
Epona’s song continues to dance through the camp, and Time’s single eye finally falls on Wild, the cook busily scrubbing out his favorite cooking pot on the very edge of camp, the familiar tune dancing off of the young one’s lips, suds rising halfway up his arms and hair thrown back in a messy bun that reminds Time strongly of Lullaby’s own hair when the woman loses patience with it. Decorum be shot, the queen will throw her own hair back with a simple hair tie in front of the whole court, ignoring how it makes her appear and continuing her duties without hair hanging in her face and her neck free from the oppressing heat of its constant curtain.
If ever he doubted that Lullaby and Shiek were the same person, each time he sees his princess behave in such a way, he’s reminded that, different time lines or no, there is still the same fiery spirit and passion for change in his friend that there had always been, and it is something he is happy to see reflected in some of his boys, along with Malon’s stubborn personality and incredible strength and kindness.
Maybe he is looking for the traits of those dearest to his heart in the boys that had pushed their way in. Be it by force or by accident as the hero might be, but it brings him no small joy to see Lullaby in Legend’s sharp glares or in Warriors’ brisk manner when planning. In Hyrule’s swift fingers or Wild’s sharp and calculating eyes. To see her in Four’s dark eyes, always thoughtful, always knowing, or in Sky’s burning passion.
It’s a wonder to see Malon in Wind’s boisterous cheer, and in Twilight’s rolling laughter. To see his wife’s mischief reflected in Wild’s luminescent gaze or her love of life in the way Legend cares for his orchard and animal friends. And the glimpse of unbelievable strength in Four’s easy lifting of weapons as big as himself, or the echo of her in the firm set of Warriors’ shoulders always makes him smile to himself.
There are others at times. Saria in Hyrule’s smile. Kafai in Wild’s laugh. Romani in Wind’s eccentric ideas, Nabooru in Legend’s firm stance and heavily lidded gaze, Navi in Sky’s light scolding and Tatl in Four’s acerbic wit. Glimpses of home and family echo around him, pulling close what reflected it and making them home and safety themselves. And over it all he can hear the winding of tunes that both tore apart and hold together the memories of his youth.
And now, one such tune, one especially close to his heart, one meant only for the Lon family and their famous steeds, dances over the edges of the camp and past the ears of the sleeping heroes as Wild lifts his cooking pot and carries it over to the fire, singing softly with faint and muddled words, many of them wrong, mumbled or tripped over, but sung all the same as food winks into being from the champion’s slate.
“-ne-ver far from home. Epona, Epona, can you hear hmm hmm, singing from in my heart, hmm-hmm-hmm.” Mumbled hums break the words as the champion works over the fire, measuring and stirring. “Something if you’re wandering far away hmm-hmm, listen for this melody calling you! Re-mem-ber that you have something-or-other to complete! I trust hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hm!”
The muddled version of the song makes him chuckle softly, startling the younger hero into spinning around, the spoon that Sky carved him brandished like a weapon as the champion prepares to defend himself against whatever he thinks may have startled him. Face beet red and growing redder.
“You have a nice singing voice.”
Wild looks instants away from combusting on the spot. “hOW- How long were you awake?”  Gone are the stumbling yet melodious trills of the cook’s voice, instead replaced with a panicked squeak only made worse by his age.
It was like the first time he’d successfully startled Shiek, both of them both still so young that their voices broke under pressure, and the thought makes him smile as he meets the startled child’s gaze.
“Long enough.”
Wild’s ears droop, quivering with shame and embarrassment as the kid’s shoulders hunch up to brush against them, eyes darting down and refusing to meet Time’s as boot scuffs the dirt softly. “I thought you guys- that is- I thought it was-” Cornflower blue glances up, meeting his own for only a second before darting away again. “I thought it was safe.”
Safe? What does the cub- Understanding dawns and he finds himself chuckling low and soft. “I won’t tell if you don’t.”
“It’s not that.” The champion whispers. “I just- I don’t like people...hearing.”
Oh.
Also familiar, also so very familiar. Only this time he doesn’t see his wife or sisters and brothers, or mother or friends in the flushed face of the hero before him.
A squeaky voiced young hero, who’d pulled his cap over his face more times than anyone would guess when looking at his scarred face now, had time and again been encouraged by a darting blue fairy.
“You’ve got a lovely voice Link. No shame, come on!”
Of course, fairies always like hero their Chosen sing, but Time himself had, admittedly, stumbled over notes and keys nearly as badly as his pup still does, but he’d lacked any of Twilight’s playful self-confidence to be able to own up to the harsh squeaks and shrieking chirps that erupted out of him whenever someone else tried to get him to sing, or caught him singing.
He was fine, when Navi was fast asleep or the Kolkiri were half a forest away, or when it had just been himself and Epona, trailing through the dark woods in search of a light he’d have given anything to hear encouraging him to keep trying to raise his voice. It’d been the first time he’d really tried to Sing for his fairy, but it hadn’t done anything but tempt over two fairies who already had their own Chosen, a skullkid who’d pulled him along into a world where his voice had hidden with his face behind mask after mask.
It took Malon catching him singing while at work in the barn before he’d been able to et the guts up to actually try for her, but it’d been worth it when he hadn’t had to fumble with fancy words to ask her to marry him, not when there was a song and a dance just for that that he’d learned for Kafai while in Termina. Malon made his heart sing, but she also made him sing, and while her voice far outdid his own, it always made him happy to hear the two ringing together.
He’d once hoped, once he found out, that he’d one day hear Twilight’s voice rise up with theirs on some starlit evening, but after hearing his pup sing...
He loves Twilight like a son, but heaven forbid he ever force his wife to listen to that tone deaf mess!
Wild though, oh, Malon would love to tempt Wild into singing and guide him along until his voice could ring with hers. The child had the voice of a fairy, ethereal and inhuman, but in a way that made him feel light and airy and almost like he could fly.
“Well...” He wants very much to stand and walk over to Wild, but he was still trapped and Twilight was both a brick and incredibly strong, leaving him trapped until his pup is good and ready to wake up, something he fully believed Wild would prefer to prevent happening for the time being. “I can’t not hear it, Wild.”
“Try?” The kid pleads, eyes wide and face nearly purple from embarrassment.
“It’d be an insult to whoever created the voice to do so!” The words spilled out before he could stop them. He was supposed to reassure the kid, not make him panic more by pressuring him! “That is- Wild, you have the voice of an... I suppose Legend would say “an angel” whatever those really are. To be frank, I wouldn’t choose to forget it if I could.”
“I’m not a good singer.”
“Bullshit.”
The newest hero’s gaze shoots up to meet his own, shock written across scarred features at hearing him swear. “You-”
“Don’t tell Warriors.” He whispers with a wink- blink- whatever, it was meant as a wink, and hopefully Wild would read it as one.
“You swore.” Wild breathes
“And you lied.” He returns. “You’re a good singer. Confident, maybe not, but I thought I heard Maon when I first woke up, and unless you want to tell me that my wife has a poor singing voise-”
“No! Of course not!”
“Settled then.” He smiled. “You’re a good singer.”
The champion stares at him, ears twitching slowly and eyes blinking as he processes the words, before a light scowl pulls at the kid’s scars as he crosses his arms. “It- no!” At the grin he shoots at the kid, Wild whines softly. “Dad!”
Both freeze at that. Or rather, Time blinks repeatedly, shocked, and Wild’s hands fly up to his mouth, eyes wide and horrified.
“I’m sorry!” Wild blurts out, still hiding behind his hands. “I slipped I-”
Laughter, deep and rumbling enough that Twilight is happy grumbling against him in response, sounds through the camp as Time throws his head back. He can’t stop it, but he will embrace it. This is the best morning he’s had in ages and Hylia have him if he doesn’t take a moment to enjoy it! “You’re fine, Cub. I’ve been called much worse than that more than once. Unless of course,” He grins at the young hero, brows pulling down in a mock stare, even if he can’t hold his smile back to be convincing. “You think I’d be a bad one?”
“No! You’re an awesome- You’re going to be-” Wild is somehow redder than he was before and he stomps his foot almost petulantly as he catches on to the laughter that still rumbles in Time’s chest. “Time!”
“I don’t mind.” He rumbles out, and more than anything he wants to walk over and ruffle the kids hair, or wrap him in a hug, but he’s trapped by Twilight, and instead can only lift his free arm in an offer that Wild hesitates to take. He’s almost considering lowering his arm and rescinding his invitation when the champion barrels into his side, face buried in his shoulder as Golden hair fills his vision.
“I hate you.”
“Such disrespect to your father.” Time scolds playfully, gently pinching Wild’s ear and making the champion giggle at the touch. “What will your Mamalon say?”
“Ma-” Wild sits up again, staring down at him in confusion. “Mamalon?”
His lips pull into a smile again, something he’s done more this morning than he has nearly all week. “Something Legend calls her, which I’m stealing because she and I both like it.”
The champion’s eyes trail down to where scarred fingers still tangle into his tunic. “Can I call her that too?”
“Well,” He chuckles. “If I’m your Father Time, I think it’s only fair she’s you Mamalon.” At Wild’s smile he smirks. “Ad she’ll be delighted to learn you already know the family song, if only in part. Her mother wrote that for her you know, and I’m sure she’d love to teach you the rest of it. She taught it to me after all, and I used to sing as poorly as Twilight!”
Wild’s mouth opens and closes a few times as a light blush colors the kid’s cheeks before he shyly nods. “I’d- I think I’d like that.”
“Good.” And breakfast or no, Time thinks the others can wait for a half of a minute to eat after waking up, because if Twilight’s going to pin him down than he’s going to return the favor with his other son.

Linked Universe Zeldas:
My takes on LU style- Zelda’s. Note: I don’t really follow Linked Universe, and I don’t like a lot of their takes on the Links, so uh, don’t assume these Zelda’s dealt with the LU versions of the Links.
SS: goes by Hylia, she jokingly suggests it when they’re picking nicknames, and everyone else just pauses for a second then realises who exactly she is and freaks the fuck out, so it kinda sticks as a combination of an in-joke and just... well, she’s Hylia reborn, can’t argue with that! The others are all low-key taken aback by how not-leadery she is, she tends to be the most hands-off when it comes to planning because well- she just guards the triforce, Link is the one who earned all 3 pieces and used it’s full power. Meanwhile her descendants picked up Wisdom sometime in the intervening centuries, so she’s pretty happy to leave the plans to them and stick to being a mediator. Third most likely Zelda to pick a fight she can’t win, most likely to win despite that.
Minish Cap: goes by Shortie, bc these beanpoles tried that with Tetra and she threatened to stab them, but Minish just found it hilarious so it stuck. Surprisingly quick to pick up how to fight, occasionally gets the other Zelda’s into trouble by running off, but they usually agree with her that whatever caught her eye was actually pretty worth it, because deep down they’re all massive nerds, no matter how functional they appear. Also tends to randomly grab gifts for the other Zeldas.
Four Swords: just goes by Four, jokes about how much her Hero(es) would be annoyed by that. Usually the first to notice encroaching danger, and always the first to investigate it. At first the more combat-experienced Zelda’s were Concerned(tm) that she is the one sticking herself into unknown dangers, until she pointed out that A) she is considerably less likely to get herself caught unless Sheik wants to go, bc she knows she has less leeway to get caught than they are and B) they won’t be down a fighter for the rescue if she’s the one who gets caught, which they reluctantly concede.
OoT: goes by Regrets, which like, the other Zelda’s just hear her bitterly pick as soon as the topic comes up and immediately decide they aren’t touching that emotional baggage. It’s an mix of Child and Adult timeline Zelda, which kinda fucks her up when she thinks about it- especially seeing as she remebers both Ganondorf breaking free and killing one of the Seven Sages in the child timeline, and what became of the Hero of Time... who she remembers clinging to the thought he got to have the childhood he rightfully should’ve in the Adult Timeline, as the waves climbed up over Hyrule to seal the awakened and unchallenged Ganondorf. So yeah, she tries not to. She also remembers the start of the Defeat Timeline, where she was too late to save the Hero and was forced to lead the exhausted and scattered remains of her people to war to kill the Demon King.
Wind Waker: literally just Tetra, she also is the first to look at the less murder-happy Zeldas and give them a knife. She’s currently working on getting them all up to basic pirate crew levels of fighting without magic, just in case, and she’s constantly pestering the fight-y Zelda’s to a spar. Regrets goes along because she’s had three slightly different Zelda’s merged in her head so her skills are a little rusty, Hylia likes to do it just because people keep forgetting she learned to fight at the same school Link did, and their responses when she reminds them are funny to her. Tetra is picked up from after establishing New Hyrule, and she looks up to Hylia more than she’s willing to admit, often going to her for advice on the whole‘founding a nation in peaceful cohabitation with the locals’ thing. Second most likely to start a fight she can’t win.
Spirit Tracks: goes by Ghost, refuses to explain the joke to any of the others and thinks she’s hilarious for it. She is, but she doesn’t need the ego stoke. They find out about the ghost thing when she accidently astral projects in her sleep at one point and wakes up to them freaking out over her corpse, which is implied to happen often. Tetra notices that she’s really really weird to train as a fighter, because she already fights pretty well but she also fights like she’s a giant fuck-off suit of armour with a sword as big as she is. She finds it amazing to get to meet Tetra, and is constantly asking her if various stories she heard as a child are actually true or if her mother just made them up or exaggerated. They were not, and Ghost thinks Tetra is the coolest person on the planet for it.
Twilight Princess: goes by Twilight, out of tribute to Midna’s nickname for her. Absolutely misses Midna, respects Regrets more than Regrets thinks she should, but she still angsts a lot about how she just surrendered to the unkillable army its implied she’s the only one who could even see properly who could turn them all into ghos- ahem. I may or may not have opinions about people thinking it’s the wrong decision from out of universe. But yeah, she absolutely angsts about it, and really looks up to Tetra and Regrets bc at least they acted, she just sat in her tower and waited for the hero she knew would be coming. Saying that though, she indulged Tetra’s pestering to fite exactly once (1), and promptly kicked her ass and went back to her book. Because really, what else was she going to do with all that free time while Link was fishing to win a Heart Container and she couldn’t leave her room? Ganondorf had to get the idea to have her use a sword somewhere.
FSA: Even among Zelda's, she stands out for how friendly she is- more than once she brought a ‘new friend’ back to camp who’d been trying to kill them seconds earlier. This got her the nickname Torch, because she shines light into even the darkest of creatures- although, Hylia would like it if she never interacted with any of the mini-Imprisoned from HW ever again please and thank you, that was a step too far for exotic pets.
(I’ll do a followup post for the Defeat Timeline, it has a lot of the older games I haven’t played and need to familiarise myself with the characters in, and it’s already getting late)
Hyrule Warriors: goes by Sheik, was unironically ready to fight her ancestor for the name, but Regrets doesn’t really care. Speaking of regrets, upon learning that Regrets did the exact same disguise in the Adult timeline, Sheik immediately wants to go stab Cia (and maybe Lana too) for letting her think she was getting away with the disguise when Cia had literally seen the exact same trick just one timeline over. (post post-game definitive edition, so Cia has her redemption arc) She also was never meant to be the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, and views it as a burden- without Cia’s interference, the Triforce of Wisdom and it’s visions would’ve been passively sitting in the royal vaults instead of etched into her hand, but fate got confused when the Triforce had been split, but the one who should inherit Wisdom was much better suited to Courage. This leads to a bit of a disconnect sometimes, where fate has changed her into a suitable host for the Triforce of Wisdom, but she just kinda isn’t one. She’s also a MASSIVE nerd (I saw those TP references in Linkle’s Twilight stage Nintendo! She literally started dropping random history quotes after almost dying, the nerd) so she’s constantly fangirling over all her famous ancestors, because if anyone had managed to hear legends from all 3 timelines, it would be HW Zelda. The most likely to pick a fight she can’t win, she literally only pretends to be functional and have impulse control when they’re in her Hyrule and her people can see her.
BOTW:
Both BoTW Zeldas avoid each other like the plague because yeah, that’s a physical manifestation of my failures. They’re not consolidated like OoT was for bonus angst- because just merging them would show her there’s a happier timeline where all of her friends survived and Hyrule didn’t fall and crumble to ruins while she and Link took a 100 year nap.
AoC: goes by Terrako, because why the hell not. Has Terrako with her, which gets confusing, but he’s an adorable Eggy Boi, and basically team mascot. Is using her Master Cycle+Sheikah Slate movesets, bc she tried to use her Goddess bow moveset and reality just kinda glitched bc there were two Zelda’s using the exact same power, and they both agreed to never try that again.
BoTW: goes by Architect, because that’s what she spends half her time doing these days. Regularly nerds out with Sheik. Low-key dying inside from self-worth issues rearing up again now that she’s hanging out with all these legendary queens, but tries not to let it show and keep with a positive attitude, too mixed results.

hi!! i love your writing, it's so good! i have a question: do you have any cute headcanons for zelink?
Oh boy
I don’t think you understand what you signed up for here
Like you didn’t specify a game
I’m going to have to go one by one
I mean it’s a fun activity but whew is it going to be a mess
I apologize in advance
Link’s Awakening
-Marin is a manifestation of Link’s crush on A Link to the Past Zelda
-Link does not die on the open ocean but gets saved by A Link to the Past Zelda on a big ship
-They suss out their past trauma and eventually fall in love, hence the famous picture in A Link Between Worlds
Ocarina of Time
-Link had feelings for Princess Zelda the moment he first laid eyes on her in the garden. It was a childhood crush then but over time, especially when he became an adult, he fell in love with the Princess.
-Link was ULTRA concerned that he couldn’t find the princess anywhere as an adult. He feared that he failed her and their plan and was so relieved when she revealed herself as Sheik. He even cried
-Zelda fell in love with Link during the time that she was teaching him various songs as Sheik. She denied it herself for a while but eventually she accepted her feelings and longed to be with him as Zelda and not Sheik, which is why she foolishly revealed herself to him
-Zelda felt too guilty to keep Link in her time just because of her love and wished to send him back to time where he could relive his childhood
-Link couldn’t muster the courage to confess and figured that him going back was what Zelda wanted, so he complied
-Zelda has to get over her regret and it  h u r t s
Majora’s Mask
-I believe that the “forgive your friend” applies to both Navi and Zelda. Link must forgive Navi for leaving him in his time of emotional need after being sent away by his love and he must forgive Zelda for sending him back and forcing him into such loneliness, grief, and almost uncopable trauma that to everyone else “never happened”
-Anju and Kafei foils Link and Zelda (It's a storytelling tool. It means they parallel each other inversely and are thus contrasted)
The Wind Waker
-they’re kids but...Link has a crush on Tetra
Twilight Princess
-this one is really complicated because I wrote a whole fic about it but basically after the events of Twilight Princess he becomes her knight attendant and they fall in love
Phantom Hourglass
-Link realizes that his crush on Tetra is a crush on Tetra about halfway through the game. Linebeck says something snarky like “you didn’t know that? It’s so obvious” or something like that
-Tetra still sees him as the goofball he is
-As they grow older and mature a bit they go from good friends to full-on lovers
Spirit Tracks
-they both have BIG crushes on each other
Skyward Sword
-I don’t even know what to tell you
-I literally wrote two books on the subject
Breath of the Wild
-they change by the hour and they all contradict each other
-Nintendo please give me clarity on Friday
-Okay but they also get married and have twins. Zelda is on bedrest and Link  tells her to stay put but she doesn’t listen and goes to where she was conducting experiments (all the way to Blatchery Plain) Link finds her and gets upset that she’s nine months and went all the way out there but she insists she’s fine. They sit and relax for a bit but it isn’t long until her water breaks. They kind of have a dejavu moment when Link says “if we can just make it to Kakariko you’ll be fine”, which is what Zelda said to a very injured link a hundred years ago a while before the “memory” started. Anyways, Link makes a joke like “why is it always here?”. She ends up having the twins at Dueling Peaks Stable. Link and Zelda each get to name one. Link names the boy Elijah and Zelda names the girl Wendy, deciding finally on not continuing the “Zelda” trend. Once Zelda has recovered, and once they get visits from Kass, Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, Teba, and basically the rest of Hyrule, Link and Zelda go back to their home in Hateno carrying their children lovingly in their arms.
-or something like that idk
Thank you so much for the ask!!
Did it satisfy your wildest dreams because I guess I could elaborate idk my head hurts from graduate school applications

Is Naminé a Part of Sora?
It’s been a long while since I’ve done a theory/analysis post (though granted I haven’t done much) so I probably have gotten rusty. However, I truly wanted to explain some misconceptions that half the fandom are still confused about and truth to be told, I don’t blame them. Kingdom Hearts is already a confusing title and there are so much mysteries that surround its lore, plot, and even its characters. I would like to try my hand to explain the best as I can with one of the characters that arguably contain the most ambiguity in this franchise.
Naminé.
Tumblr media
To be honest, I would like to go much more in depth with her character itself in a later post if I continue doing this so I would at least want to explore one aspect of her that people are still confused about. So for now, I will go through a detailed analysis in order to solidify my point. To start off, I’ll give a general overview of Naminé’s backstory.
Since the beginning of Kingdom Hearts I, because Riku allowing the darkness into his own world and Ansem Seeker of Darkness, Destiny Island falls to darkness in the beginning of the game. While the world was being destroyed, Sora finds Kairi in the secret place and as he tries to reach out to her, through a gust of wind, Kairi flies into Sora’s arms and disappears before he could catch her. This was the moment where Sora housed Kairi’s heart within him. (Most likely through Ansem SoD’s influence or the descent of Destiny Islands to darkness that caused this effect, it is reasons unknown but I might make this post way too long so I will leave this point be.)
From here on, we receive hints that Kairi’s heart is within Sora throughout his journey until Sora figures out through Riku (or rather Ansem Seeker of Darkness using Riku as a host). After Riku’s defeat, Sora figures out the only way to awaken Kairi was to release her within his own heart. Using the Keyblade of Heart, he sacrificed himself to return Kairi’s heart and because of his strong will, he created two more beings into non-existence, Roxas and Naminé.
Tumblr media
This is the portion where people are confused about. For Roxas’s case, through Kingdom Hearts games (Kingdom Hearts II, Days and bit of Birth by Sleep), lore, as well as interviews, we’re able to figure out Roxas’s existence which is a bit more straight-forward, Sora’s nobody who holds Ventus’s heart which resulted in his appearance looking uncanny to Ventus. (If there are people who want a full in-depth(including Sora’s existence from KHI->beginning KHII), I would also love to do that as well).
Naminé’s case however, is a bit more interesting to say the least. Originally, Kairi would create a Nobody the moment she lost her heart in Destiny Islands. However, because of the mere fact that she’s a Princess of Heart, the only type of existence who is unable to house any darkness within herself, this makes it impossible to do such a feat. This was the reason why she couldn’t become a heartless and her body instead goes into a comatose state. This is where Sora comes into play, where he provides the darkness in order for this act to come into motion and create their existences.
Tumblr media
From looking through Ansem’s reports ( (the one in Kingdom Hearts II where the notion of Nobodies were introduced) regarding Naminé, these are the conclusions he’s reached,
Naminé emerged as Kairi's Nobody...but the body and soul necessary to exist as a Nobody belonged to Sora. (Ansem Report 10)
From Ansem’s reports, (we would assume that) he’s concluding Naminé has Sora’s body and soul because Kairi couldn’t create them. Does this mean that Naminé’s a part of Sora?
As we know from how Nobodies are created, they are basically the shell left behind after one (only those with a strong will) loses their heart to darkness and the heart’s darkness is able to provide the basis for Nobodies. (This is ultimately the reason why Nobodies can only be created when a Heartless is born though of course, Sora and Kairi are the special exceptions to this.) Their bodies giving them their form while their soul is what gives them their sustainability to life and what allows a body to live.
Let’s go back to Sora’s sacrifice. When Sora released his own heart, he brought his heart to darkness, and he created his Nobody Roxas as a result. However, because Kairi who was unable to produce any darkness, was also released through him as well, Naminé was also created. Because Roxas is Sora’s nobody, it should be quite obvious that he is the embodiment of Sora’s body and soul as explained earlier. But.. doesn’t this create some contradictions? Shouldn’t Naminé have his body and soul? There are many that argue that Naminé holds some essence of Sora’s body/soul (using Ansem Report 10 as evidence), and especially with the fact that Namine’s powers revolve around Sora’s existence and those connected to him, shouldn’t it make sense? While it may seem the case, people seem to forget that this statement is quite illogical. For starters, there are no records whatsoever where a body and soul itself can split into multiple portions where it can be shared with two existences (while this cannot be said for the heart I believe). So it shouldn’t be possible where Roxas and Naminé share portions of Sora’s body and soul.
Continuing onto this, it’s been consistently said by multiple characters, including Ansem the Wise and Naminé that Roxas holds half of Sora’s existence. While this is taken in more general terms, when stating a half, it usually means that there are only two portions in Sora’s complete existence, Sora holding his half while Roxas holding the other. This is especially when we take into consideration of the relation between an Other and Nobody. Near the climatic ending in Kingdom Hearts II where both Roxas and Naminé make their last appearance in front of their other selves, we witness a scene where Roxas and Naminé return to Sora and Kairi respectively. If Naminé held some of Sora’s essence within her, wouldn’t it make more sense for Naminé to find a method to return it back to him, especially since she herself was working on Sora’s recovery to complete him? Yet as we look through her limited appearances after Sora’s completed, she only had two goals: going back to Kairi, her original self, and, from what we’ve seen in the Final Mix exclusive cutscene where she’s with Axel and Riku, meeting both Sora and Roxas again to fulfill her end of the promise she made to both of them. There was no implications in the narrative where Naminé was necessary to complete Sora nor did she state any desire for such. (Sorry for the contrasting image sizes. I tried finding smaller sizes with no luck..)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Secondly, as said right before this, he stated this is a hypothesis. The meaning of a hypothesis is “a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.”(Oxford Dictionary) In other words, he, as a scientist, made his own explanation based on his observation and that limited evidence. This is not a fact; it’s his own theory. As such, we cannot treat this as such when he himself is not completely familiar to the concepts of Nobodies (at least during this time). This is especially true for an anomaly (he himself named) whose birth is the most unique among the rest of the Nobodies.
So what is Sora’s connection to Naminé? If Naminé doesn’t hold any of Sora’s essence of his body and soul, how was she created?
Continuing into future reports, we now come across Ansem Report 12 where he discusses Roxas’s existence after he obtained him through Riku. After examining him as well as re-examining Naminé, this is what he writes.
Naminé is Kairi's Nobody, but came into being via Sora's body and soul. (Ansem Report 12)
It’s important to note that this took place right after Riku captured Roxas and before he transferred Roxas into the digital Twilight Town. Comparing this to Report 10 where he recently took Naminé to the Old Mansion and recruited Riku, some time has passed between. As a scientist, especially one as famous as Ansem the Wise who is also stuck on revenge, he’s always making observations towards the Nobody’s existence and as his title, he makes changes to his initial theories whether to add or change it depending on the subject(s)’ actions. Notice the wording on how she came to being, via which by definition means “through; by means of”. (Oxford Dictionary) In other words, Naminé’s birth was possible through Sora’s body and soul as assistance, because of this source that it was allowed to happen. Instead of thinking that Naminé took a figment of Sora, its more accurate to say Sora’s body and soul (also his darkness) served as intermediary, a path, a chain to connect and complete the process for Kairi to have a Nobody, to create Naminé.
This can a bit confusing. In order to further understand it, let’s look at another scene from a different entry.
Tumblr media
While this does not have any relation to Naminé’s case directly, I’ll try my best to connect it to my initial point. When Ventus’s own heart was separated with his darkness by Master Xehanort, his heart was completely fractured. This is because humans, excluding the Princesses of Heart, cannot live when they lack light or darkness in their hearts. With this being the case, Ventus was on the verge of death before Sora as a newborn heart provided salvation and prevented it.
“Now our hearts touched, nothing will slip away from you again. And one day, you’ll be strong enough to be able to win back the part that already did.”
Tumblr media
It is this scene we see that Sora’s heart joined with Ventus and how they gained a special connection with each other when Sora was just born. While the infliction obviously is not the same as the creation of Naminé (and Roxas), I wanted to show here that Sora used a part of himself. his heart, to provide a link as a means for Ventus to heal. A connection in other words. (While this can be argued that maybe Sora did give a portion of himself, even if the narrative did not imply that and Sora was shown to be completely functional throughout his 4 years before Ventus returns to Sora, note here that it was his heart and from my understanding, hearts can be fractured into multiple pieces. (Evident in Kingdom Hearts BBS with the scene that I presented above is where Xehanort splits Ventus’s heart in half as well as Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind with Master Xehanort shattering and separating Kairi’s heart. Please correct me if I’m wrong on this case of Re:Mind. I need to further research on this aspect.)
However, I would like to go back to my point that this proves that a part of a being can be used as a link to connect and going back to Naminé’s case, because Kairi had the necessary requirements to create a Nobody but because of her unique existence was unable to provide the means, Sora provided the missing compounds to create the link between Kairi’s heart to Naminé’s existence. We can also speculate that it could be because of this link that Naminé had acquired her powers to control memories and its chains of Sora and those connected to him, however that is not confirmed and only theoretical so I cannot confirm this to be the case.
In conclusion, we can now ascertain that Naminé does not hold any essence of Sora and Sora was only acting as an intermediary to create Naminé , especially since he will be an incomplete existence if Naminé did actually hold it.
Does this mean Naminé hold any essence of Kairi? That could be the case if her appearance striking a resemblance to Kairi (though there is noticeable differences). It is true that Naminé has made it her goal to return to Kairi throughout Kingdom Hearts II once she completed the process of Sora’s recovery. At the very least, Naminé is not a vessel for Kairi’s body and soul like a normal Nobody though. We cannot say for sure if Kairi lost anything in the process of her Nobody’s creation and looking through the end of Kingdom Hearts I and throughout Kingdom Hearts II, we can make an inference that this separation/creation has not affected her personally. It seems more likely that Naminé’s return to Kairi is more beneficial on Naminé herself and provides as a sort of salvation to prevent her from disappearing to darkness like other Nobodies. It’s hard to say how she was able to maintain her existence in the first place when she’s not in possession of a physical one. (It could be the case that she’s Kairi’s Nobody that Kairi’s powers as a Princess of Heart has influence to her manifestation and “body” (like Sora’s case) yet it’s also unconfirmed.) Naminé’s existence was intentionally made to look fragile in the first place (Nomura paying special attention to this) so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say if it truly is the case that Kairi was necessary for Naminé’s existence to stop from fading.
With her limited appearances and lack of intel pertaining to her existence in lore, the only thing we can only truly say is that Naminé’s entity is still shrouded in mystery, defying all logic and elements of a Nobody despite being classified as such, an anomaly. Hopefully some of it can be answered in future installments (and if any chance, I may do a theory on my take on her existence or along the lines.)
Tumblr media
I apologize for this being a really long post. I hope I was able to explain this misconception well enough for you to understand. If you see any mistakes I made or if you disagree with any points, feel free to leave any constructive criticisms. Like I’ve said, it’s been a while since I’ve written a whole theory from start to finish so forgive me if you do find any. Thank you so much for taking your time to read this and I hope it at least quelled any curiosity you have if you initially did have it.

Well, this is certainly something that happened.
In response to a post I made stating the various reasons I don’t like the Twilight Princess manga (which was in and of itself a response to some replies I got on this other post), I got a barrage of replies from a user (who will go unnamed, they’ve already been blocked) in defense of the thing - which, ordinarily, wouldn’t be a big deal!  People are allowed to have different opinions and I never once stated anyone who liked it should feel bad!  I started writing up a reply to them in the middle of this barrage, but their replies just kept coming and got subsequently worse, yet it was all...so bizarre to the point that it would feel weird to not address that it happened.  I’m putting all of this under a read more, because wow this is a wall of text, but also this is the kind of nonsense I want people to avoid having to read if it can be helped.  At any rate, this is what they had to say:
I don’t know, this really honestly feels like reaching. It feels like criticism for the sake of criticism without actual narrative flaws being shown, but your anger seems to stem from “This interpretation is different from what I thought even though I admit all official art shows the charachter this way” and “Link HAD to be raised in ordon because of one quote from the enclosed instruction book”. Twilight Princess was literally made to be “the edgy zelda” in reponse to fan overreaction to wind waker. This is undeniable. All official art depicts link this way. He turned into a freaking wolf in the middle of the twilight craze! but no, he *can’t* be like that because of random expressions he makes when holding pets or items? First of all, even in the manga he isn’t an edgeboy all the time.
Secondly, it feels like you're merely glossing over all that was added in terms of charachterization! In the original game, I felt nothing for Ilia. She showed up, yelled at link for maybe getting epona slightly hurt, and then got kidnapped. Maybe a bit of tsundere stuff, but seriously, Midna is literally the best tsundere ever. You can't out midna-minda in her own damn game. XD In the manga, Ilia and Link actually have a warm and very close relationship, you can see them through all the slice of life in the first volume. I really grew to like her and truly felt sorry for her when bad things happened to her. She actually gets far, FAR more respect as a person and charachter in the manga than merely a trophy for link to get back. But no, you're far too focused on subtle expressions and insinuations because that is literally all anyone had to go on for the longest time. In reality, Link, as has been said many times, is an avatar as much as he is a charachter. You can't gloss over his official art depicitons any more than I can random expressions he makes when finding a heart piece.
Not to mention, you call the blog midzelink yet you make zero mention of the super obvious wlw-as-fuck zelda flashback in volume 5? It's a sad thing that Shad being straight is something I have seen people complain about, yet Zelda and Midna's relationship getting such a huge focus passes without a peep. It's a disturbing trend I see in my fellow Fujoshi. And on the subject of Shad, his relationship with Ilia is far more likely something included to give her a happy ending, rather than just seeing link off into the sunset to try to find midna and live forever alone in ordon. On that note as well, Link not being from Ordon fits PERFECTLY with the ending, Link being the only hylian, link being from there, all of this is SCREAMING that that is the place he never truly belonged, the manga simply takes it one step further and in this version says he was never from there any way, cementing that. It gives the concept that Link was using Ordon as a place to avoid being who he was extra weight. And Honestly, it makes him less of a jerk in the end for leaving ordon, as he never truly belonged.
And It's actually a narrative flaw in the original for Lanaryu to make mention of misusing the power of the master sword and then having nothing come of that warning later. If you're going to set chekov's gun down on the table, you better use it by the end of the play. It's simply capitalzing on something that the story actually set up, and playing into the tone of the story nintendo marketed it. But really, most of my annoyance dosen't come from the fact that you don't like the manga. People can dislike what they want. It's that all your grievances seem to come from stuff at the very beginning, and you liked it for so long, when they were there just as much as they are now. This kinda reeks of someone else slowly influencing you over time, rather than your own thoughts.
Phew.
Okay.
First of all, what the f**k, dude.  Who leaves this kind of essay in the replies of someone else’s post?
Secondly,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Note: a “fujoshi” is a woman who likes yaoi, usually used in a derogatory manner, but it seems to be self-proclaimed in this case.  That is to say, this person proudly announced they fetishized MLM relationships, and then proceeded to tell me my opinion was Bad and Wrong because I didn’t praise Himekawa for a scene that ultimately wasn’t WLW at all, even though I and a lot of other people liked to interpret it that way.  Do not give Himekawa credit for gay rep, ever.)
Again, I was going to reply to this person civilly...up until I read the Midzel/Fujoshi reply, which decimated me on impact. There’s a heckuva lot I could say in response to, well...everything else, but in the interest of making this post shorter, I’ll break it down into a bulleted list:
Link being raised in Ordon is not based on “one quote from the enclosed instruction book” - Ilia specifically states when she gets her memory back, “When we were young, you and I... You were always there... You were always beside me... Link.” (I already mentioned this in my original post, which they evidently neglected to read properly.) And this is to speak nothing of the familial bond between Link and all of the Ordonians that is fairly evident within the context of the game, i.e. Rusl trusting him to deliver a very important gift to the Royal Family, or all the children looking up to him as much as they do.
Saying “all official art depicts Link this way” in defense of his characterization in the manga being edgy (when his in-game persona is far-flung from that) is pretty shaky when you realize that the same can be said for Skyward Sword, which arguably has the most emotive and happy Link of any game. In all of SS Link’s official art, he is angry, mid-yell, or stone-faced.  That’s how character art works.  That’s how marketing works.  They wanted to market TP especially as a darker game, yes, in response to the critiques of The Wind Waker, but this is literally a man who smiles softly every time he picks up a dog or a cat. You can pet the goats.  You get excited about fishing.  If TP Link should be “edgy” because of his official art and no other reason, then SS Link should be, too.
it’s your own damn fault you felt nothing for Ilia, Ilia owns, suck it
MIDNA IS NOT A TSUNDERE, HOLY SHIT.  SHE’S NOT.  I WILL NEVER CONCEDE THIS. She doesn’t mistreat Link because she likes him, she mistreats him because he is nothing to her when they first meet, and this is a stance that slowly changes as they get to know each other!  She stops treating him like garbage when she stops seeing him as such, and her behavior throughout the game post-Zelda is a mixed bag of shame over how she treated him previously and a longing to make up for it.  How anyone can construe that as tsundere I will never, ever understand.
the Midzel comment is so wack I really can’t believe I had to read that shit with my own two eyes
no, Link likely isn’t from Ordon (again, already addressed in my original post, but again, I guess this person can’t read), but he was certainly raised there, see: the first bullet point
Lanayru never once mentions ANYTHING about misusing the power of the Master Sword, so that entire point is completely invalid.  I literally have no idea what they’re talking about here. Lanayru does have the famous line, “Those who do not know the danger of wielding power will, before long, be ruled by it,” but that’s in reference to the Fused Shadows, not the Master Sword.  Which, you know, you would know if you actually knew the source material as well as you claim to, dude.
Lastly, yes, I did like the manga when I first read it, but as I already stated, that was because I blasted through all four (available at the time) volumes in one sitting, and it was immediately after my hyperfixation for this game resurfaced (about a week or so before I made this blog!).  I was Starved For Content, and the manga was Content.  Now I’m not Starved, and two more volumes have released since, and guess what!  People’s opinions can change!  And my opinion is that the manga isn’t for me, and this entire, extremely accusatory essay of yours in the replies of a post I made stating my own opinion was entirely uncalled for and rather intrusive.  So, yeah.  Blocked.
This has certainly been a trip.

Be honest with me. (us? The TP/BotW community? idk.) What do you think of the BotW2 trailer, and do you think there's even a sliver of potential for the Twili to return? I've been dying to know your answer, Amos. By the way, thanks again for the Midlink art piece. Doing a smart here by being off anon for this ask lol.
My My, Quite the question
*TP Link
First off I’m pretty sure Twilight Princess Link is done as far as canon in-game appearances go. Wolf Link was a pretty dope add-in for Breath of the wild and could be added in for BOW2, but that’s really all were gonna get I’m afraid. :/
well sorta at least.
I mean we got TONES of Amibo and in-game TP stuff like the Twilight tunic, TP Epona (the only Epona in this game mind you), TP Zelda’s Light bow, TP Ganondorf’s Sword, Midna and Zant’s helmet, mention of Prince Rails on the path to Zoras Domain, the somewhat homage to the Bridge of Eldon and of course the famous side quest “A Fragmented Monument” being an obvious nod to the Mirror of twilight.
Tumblr media
but even with all this TP stuff It’s no indication that Nintendo has any plans to bring TP Link into the mix.
...
That said... Between you and me, Nintendo just won’t let go of Twilight princess Link.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TP Link got the hi-rez treatment a few years ago for promotional stuff, and as much as I love it and want posters of the full version there really isn’t a reason for Nintendo to be using him to promote things.
They could have use any other Link, but they picked him specifically.
I mean, Skyward Sword Link was technically the latest in the usual green tunic design(although it was basically a simplified TP tunic), Ocarina of Time and Toon Link are the “fan favorites”, and Breath of the wild Link is the brand spanking new one that broke records.
Yet, TP Link is still getting promoted.
Whats even more interesting is the the rest of the Nintendo Tokyo banner.
Tumblr media
Breath of the Wild Link and Zelda are both there, but so is TP Link and Ganondorf!
And get this, TP Link is the one in the smaller more common banner!
Tumblr media
I love it, but I can’t explain it!
*This is from the 2019 Nintendo Tokyo game show btw*
So as much I have my doubts about TP Link showing up in BOTW2 or ever having a real return of any kind Nintendo sure isn’t making it easy for me to keep believing that.
Almost like they're toying with me. :(
Is TP Link gonna show up in Breath of the wild 2? probably not. at most heel be a non-cannon amibo wolf companion like in the first one.
Is there gonna a new game with TP Link in it? doubt it.
Is there gonna be a port of the HD Version of Twilight princess to the switch? Could be... but highly unlikely.
Will they do a complete remake of Twilight Princess with these dope re-rendered models with a gameplay style like the Wii U tech Demo of the spider boss!!??? GOD I WISH BUT I KNOW IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!!!  ( ͡ಥ ͜ʖ ͡ಥ)
But logically it’s probably that TP Link is the best looking and most Marketable out of the Link bunch.  :/
Anyway, you were asking about Breath of the wild 2 right. lol
*BOTW2
the trailer is interesting... like really REALLY interesting.
Its looks waaaaay darker and shaping up to be the Zelda story we never knew we wanted.
I mean com’on whats not to love about dark Zelda stories!? Zelda is always at it’s best when its pushing the edge a bit.
I even did my own break down of it.
I think I posted it here already but I can’t remember so here it is anyway.
Tumblr media
This is pretty much what I gathered from the trailer.
Dark, mysterious, somewhat hopeless and tragic, our heros are in over their heads, everything is on the line, I love it!
Sadly, I really don’t wanna think about it too much because I got my hopes up last time and Nintendo has a bad habit of playing it safe when they should go all out. :/
Straight Up though we’re gonna be seeing Zelda in a much more involved role so that much seems apparent. to what degree? I have no idea.
She might be playable as a character you switch off to for puzzle solving or Goddess powers since shes using the sheikah slate.
All I ask it that she not be an exclusive cutseen character. I wanna see my girl doing things in game.
that said, I know people want Zelda to be the the main playable character but she really isn’t suited to fill Links role as the adventurous warrior type.
She’s really more of a sage type character on top of being a book worm and not really fit for direct combat.
Ironically enough playing as Zelda would change things so much it wouldn’t be a Zelda game. lol
Or heck, she just might be the playable character its hard to tell honestly.
but what about Link?
Link on the other hand (no pun intend) is still gonna be the player character I think.
I imagine the thing going on with his arm is going to replace the sheikah slate’s function with some added combat stuff.
Kinda like Nero’s arm from DMC or the Shinobi prosthetic from Sekiro.
Tumblr media
It would be pretty cool to see Links combat and exploration open up because of a nifty arm. :)
or it could be killing him and we gotta find a way to cure him so he can defeat Ganondorf. (that would be rad!!!)
All-n-all that just depends on what the arm is doing and waht the game wants to be like.
I hope and pray for a combat system like in Twilight Princess and a return to the Temple / Dungeons puzzle and bosses system from the other 3D Zelda’s with a breath of the wild spin.
Golly, just picture exploring a Dungeon with Zelda doing logic puzzles and switching off to Link to handle the combat segments doing a back and forth between the 2 leading up to a boss fight they have to work together to defeat.
THAT WOULD BE SO RAD!!!!!
Man this is getting long.
I’ll just say that I have high hopes for BOW2, but going in with zero expositions is always the the way to go.
I trust Nintendo took the feed back from the first game and is adjusting t something that will hopefully satisfy the fans.
I apologize if this was all over the place, I had to do work in between.
I had others ask me slimier questions if you’re that curios and want a fresher take on my thought for BOTW2.
* thoughts about that BotW sequel trailer
* how much Hyrule has changed
thanks for the question, hope I answered it properly! lol

Gaps Between Worlds || Live, Love, Link
Tumblr media
Nothing keeps a story going like a love interest. In almost every adventure story, at some point, the hero flirts with love, falls into it, is blinded by it, or is even betrayed by it. Love is the strongest emotional connection we share as humans, a double edged sword that can drive us, but also hinder us. Even when a story lacks a love interest, the listeners might begin to imagine one just to keep themselves interested. One adventure series has lacked cannon love for such a long time, it's hard to imagine how it’s been kept alive in our collective consciousness for as long as it has. The Legend of Zelda has jump-cut to Link saving Zelda so many times, but remains nebulous on what kind of relationship blossoms from their journey. As a longtime fan, I have been starving for more from the world of Hyrule, and I think fans across the world agree with me. The official Nintendo Hyrule Timeline wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for pressure from the fans. Before that release, it had been locked inside the mind of Miyamoto, creator of the series. But it didn’t really whet my appetite, because what I wanted is to know of Link and Zelda. Today, we are going to explore the facets of Link and Zelda’s many re-incarnated relationships, which could have turned into love, and where they must have gone after Gannon was sealed and their adventure came to an end.
Tumblr media
Before we go any further, the usual caveats to my writing, just so you can get where my head is at. First, I am not going to be super concerned with minute details of the timeline in its purest sense. It has a tenuous linear connection from one game to the next, but it still can provide a little fun for us to speculate on. Second, I have completed every mainline adventure with two exceptions. I have made it to the end of Link’s Adventure and Twilight Princess, but I just never walked up those steps to beat Gannon. I can’t really put my finger on why, but usually I just lost interest by the time I made it to the end of the game. Everything else, including the GB, GBA, and DS releases, I have completed.
In the beginning, one of the most bizarre parts of the overall Zelda lore is how little we actually discuss Link’s obligation to do anything for Zelda. As the games mature, they motivate Link in more realistic ways, but I felt that they mostly lacked a real punch. Lets imagine you DID NOT read the manual for the NES titles, the original LoZ, it just starts by breaking the 4th wall. I always thought it was funny that it just drops you into the mountains with absolutely no direction, as if to say, “You bought the game, dummy, do something! Press a button… ooo… check out that cave!” However, what actually happens is Link saves Zelda’s handmaid, Impa, from an attack by some of Gannon’s henchmen. She then begs him to find the 8 fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom, which Zelda has hidden in 8 dungeons, and he just resolves to do it. In the next game though, she’s just struck with Sleepy Disney Princess disease. Classic. But have you ever noticed that true love’s kiss wasn’t an option here? That’s because Link is not her true love in this incarnation, so he has to kill the curse maker. LoZ and Link’s Adventure are directly related, so we know that in between the two games, they never became lovers. And I don’t know if you need any more proof about these games, but if you ever watched the 80’s Zelda cartoon… you’d know she’s better off.
Tumblr media
Climbing up this timeline, we end up at the incredible Link To The Past, a story that’s titular description kind of defies its storyline unless you are really paying attention. Either way, the game has Link, a descendant of Hyrule Knights, being woken up by a psychic message from Zelda. As usual, Link has no real discernible parentage, but he does start off with an uncle. As I grew up, I often wondered if this was his real uncle or the Asian kind of uncle, just an older man with the same familial distance as an actual uncle, just not actually related. (It goes without saying that the west has this kind of uncle as well, but rarely does it rear its head as ubiquitously as in the east) Who knows what happened to his parents, the game never really goes into it. Either way, he runs into his possibly real uncle after following Zelda’s request, only, he is mortally wounded, and with his final breath, he begs Link to take up his blade and his responsibility. Again, he is motivated simply by some sense of obligation, but there is never a moment's glance of flirtation or love. By the end of the game, he revives his Uncle, the Priest, and the King, only to get on a boat and end up ship wrecked on Koholint island, where he dreams up a girl who is much more likely to become someone he could have a life with rather than Zelda.
Tumblr media
Let’s take a quick moment to recognize Link has about 5 or 6 games that have nothing to do with his relationship to Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Oracle of Seasons/Ages, Majora’s Mask, and Minish Cap to name a few. In these games, it rarely meditates on his relationship to his previous adventure or the girl he left behind. Link is a very forward thinking… little boy? Adolescent? Teenager? It depends on the game. The more I think about this, maybe the more obvious it really is supposed to be. Zelda, Link, and Gannon are reborn into conflict over and over again. It’s possible that the stories that we play through are the only time they are born into a point of conflict. Basically, Link and Zelda might be born into a world without each other. Maybe the world only falls into chaos when all 3 of them are born. Maybe only when a certain amount of power accumulates on the dark side. The story just makes room for whatever it finds appropriate.
Tumblr media
Climbing up the timeline, we get to the only game that implied young romance, Ocarina Of Time. Granted, it kind of dashes this with Majora’s Mask, but it's possible he could return to Hyrule for love. He is only 10. Still, in OoT, Link is the only character that keeps his memory of both the young timeline and the teen timeline. When you think about it, Link is pretty mature for a 10 year old, but waking up in the body of a 17 year old would throw you a bit. People in the future might have found him odd… if they weren’t scattered to the winds and mostly worried about famine, death, and Gannon. In both his young and teen timeline, the Zora princess is very interested in him, and yet, the game still ends with a longing look between Zelda and Link, Link remembering everything, Zelda new to the whole thing. Now, I am willing to admit that as a kid, I probably misread this as a longing look, as an adult, it's really just the culmination of Link’s struggle to finally right all the wrongs, but I was a young shipper, and I wanted everyone to fall in love. (You are reading the thoughts of a boy who was super upset that Ash wasn’t awakened by a kiss from Misty (or Pikachu), and instead the tears of all the Pokemon. I almost walked out of the theater. I was a fresh-faced 13.) Given everything we know about both games, and that we know the timeline splits here, it would stand to reason that since in either case, triumphant or not, Link doesn’t end up making baby Link and Linkles with Zelda. In the Triumphant Timeline Child Era, none of the games end with Link in love, including Twilight Princess. In the Adult Era, the Wind Waker series of games always finds Link closely aligned with Zelda, but the whole cell-shaded, PG universe basically ensures that all the people of Hyrule are grown out of the ground, like palm trees on the beach. In the end, Link always makes for the nearest boat or horse and follows the sun, trying to escape the PTSD that haunts him.
Tumblr media
Finally, at the very beginning of the timeline is the largely maligned Skyward Sword. As of this writing, SS is the supposed beginning to the entire legend. It is also one of the few games where there does seem to be an infatuation between Zelda and Link. Throughout the game, they share what looks to be a mild flirtation. When I thought about this budding romance, I began to think it only appears that way because of some cultural filters. First, Nintendo likes to make games for kids, so they aim to get an E rating by the ESRB. So if we ratchet that up to M, the standard for modern day games if you want people to take them seriously, we can adjust the love meter on scale with E = Sesame Street and M = Breaking Bad. They might as well be engaging in some hard sexting, maybe a couple of low-cut Link bathroom mirror selfies. Don’t worry, he has his famous hat over the goods. Why do you think its shaped like that? Secondly, mild flirting in Japan is the equivalent of hardcore furry S&M in America. In actuality, what you are really seeing is the courtship of Link in a Wolf costume and Zelda dressed as a Fire Keese batting eyes at each other. Truly, in this world, Link and Zelda are destined for each other. They are the only freaks in the sky! With this assumption, I can conclude that the legend only continues because once, at the very beginning of their timeline, the Triforce of Courage and Wisdom banged it out. This could mean there is a whole series of games we have never played where the timeline is split at the top. One in which they have children and one where they don’t. Personally, I look forward to their kids journey in The Legend of Steve, the new holder of the Triforce of Wisdom. Let a girl save the boy for once!
Tumblr media
There is always hope for our legendary heroes. You may not want them to be joined in glorious, child-making coitus, but I always have. I have always found it odd that it doesn’t end like most JRPG’s with a very obvious death of the “mains” so that love can’t blossom, or with a lavish royal wedding. The worst part is that often, Link has many love interests, but none of them are Zelda. There is some hope for them in the new Breath of the Wild timeline, which is supposedly the furthest in the future of the “official” timeline, so much so that there is no connective tissue left, so it might as well be a “new beginning”. I would actually hate for them to finally, really, fall in love in the BotW universe, mostly because it's my least favorite Zelda game of all time, squeaking past Skyward Sword and Wind Waker.  All 3 of which I dislike for a combination of gameplay-style and story, though honestly, the best part of BotW is the story. It's just a game I never want to play again. Rambling aside, I look forward to the fate of love between Zelda and Link in their next chapter. Maybe we’ll finally play as their love child some day.

Don’t Stop Me Now
And here is the next part! Thanks once again for all the lovely comments :)
Tumblr media
5
“You can give a surprise to someone you want to, but be aware that maybe you become surprised yourself with your surprise instead of the someone.”
“You doing ok?” Taron asked her as he walked her through the guests in the large room where the reception drinks were happening. They had been stopped a few times and Taron had made their introductions, Robyn trying to remember all the names of the people who had shaken her hand. She had been welcomed with large smiles and words of thanks, everyone knowing who Taron’s ‘Robyn’ was. Each conversation had only lasted a few minutes before Taron moved her on, keeping a hand on hers or an arm around her waist, maintaining his promise of keeping her close to him at all times.
“I am ok Taron.” She assured him.
“You sure?” He asked worried everything was going to be very overwhelming for her.
She stopped and turned to look at him. “Do you think a room of famous celebrities is going to make me turn and run?”
“Honestly no. If a man with a gun is not going to make you run, I don’t see how a room full of famous faces will have you running far.”
“Makes it easier that no press is allowed inside too.”
“Elton won’t have it any other way. He appreciates the publicity and red carpet to keep the awareness of his charity alive but won’t have any media inside his home.”
“Well, aren’t you two just a spectacle of twilight and sparkles!” Robyn and Taron turned their heads to see Stella walking over to them wearing a beautiful gown in a cream colour that was fitted with a square neckline. “Robyn didn’t Taron do a fabulous job with the dress?” She asked as she stood beside her. She took Robyn’s hand and made her twirl around. “Stunning, isn’t she Taron?”
“Robyn doesn’t need a fancy fancy dress to be stunning for me. I have seen her a towel!” He winked. “But Stella, yes she is beautiful.”
“And Taron, isn’t he just fetching in this suit?” Stella let go of Robyn’s hand.
“This is one of my more preferred looks of his, though covered in flour, he comes off pretty fine too.” Robyn winked back at him. “But yes Stella, Taron has picked a beautiful dress for me and I have told him so. Though we have yet to have the conversation about matching outfits. You have anything to do with that?”
Stella laughed. “Nothing at all. You both picked your own clothes and I didn’t sway either of you but you both are fabulous and I like that you are co-ordinated. It shows a unity between the two of you and it is obvious that you already have a connection. When will you get the chance to dress up like this again Robyn and can I say, you have done a perfect job with your own styling. Love the hair.”
Robyn smiled. “Hair has always been my forte in some respects.”
“And I need the colour of that lipstick. Bold choice. I love it.”
Robyn grinned some more. “Throwing everything I can out there this evening.”
“Taron, I don’t think I actually needed to help her.” Stella laughed. “She knows what she is doing.”
“Oh, I know that Stella but I also know how hard Robyn works and wanted to help her out a little with the dress.” Taron grinned. “I think I did a very good job, to be honest. Love a V-neck.” The women beside him laughed. “And I just liked the extra flare of this suit. I didn’t know it would match but you did Stella and you never said anything.”
“Of course, I didn’t. I wasn’t about to ruin this truly flawless picture.”  She took his hand in hers. “What are these?” She asked as she fingered the gold cuff links on his sleeve. “I didn’t give these to you.”
“No Robyn did. They are a gift.”
“They are beautiful. I am guessing some Irish connection.”
Robyn nodded. “It’s a claddagh symbol. Normally given in a ring but I thought cuff links were much more appropriate for Taron. He wears a suit quite often.”
“Perfect addition.” She dropped his hand took a step back and she motioned to both Taron and Robyn. “Now that I have seen my styling perfection in the flesh with little personal additions, I am beyond pleased. You both look magnificent and even more so together.” Stella took Robyn’s hands. “It was a joy to style you. I hope get to see you in that green dress the next time.” She grinned.
“Green dress?” Taron asked. “Does that mean there is a movie premier in our future together?” He asked. “Stella do you think I could wear a green suit.”
“Taron you could wear could the phone book, Robyn too. Now if you both excuse me, I have to go and try some of these little nibbles Elton has set out. Taron I am looking forward to hearing you sing later; Robyn I will put that green dress to the side for you.”
She left with a hug for both Robyn and Taron and wandered through the guests.
“Well she is a whirlwind of activity.” Robyn said.
“She is a wonderful stylist. Always listens to me and doesn’t mind that I like to take some risks.”
“Like a gold cummerbund and matching with me.”
Taron linked his arms with hers. “Exactly. So, tell me about this green dress.”
She laughed as she let him lead her once more. “It was a beautiful dress but a little too princess like for my tastes. Stella said I should wear it because it would match your eyes.” She felt Taron stall a little in his steps. “But I liked this one best.”
“Match my eyes.” He repeated.
“That’s what Stella said. Anywhoo, when are you going to sing?”
“Half way through the auction. Elton and David wanted to have this little drinks reception first for their guests and then we will move into another room and the auction will begin. Our duet will break up the evening and then the second half of the auction will begin before the reception will end.”
“So, do I get to know what you are singing?”
Taron shook his head as he guided Robyn towards the end wall of the room. “Nope. It’s a surprise.”
“It’s an Elton song though?”
“Could I really sing a Queen song at a function that Elton is hosting? And we both know you are the queen of Queen songs.”
“Have you been practising your puns?” Laughed Robyn. “So, it is an Elton song then.”
“Well why don’t you ask him yourself.” Taron stopped walking as he reached the opposite end of the room from where they had entered. “Elton, David I would like to introduce you to Robyn Quinn.”
Robyn stopped and had to grab onto Taron’s arm to stop her from going over on her heel and she felt his arm go around her waist to keep her steady as they now stood in front of Elton John and his husband.
“Taron!” Scolded Elton as he saw the shock on his friend’s guests face. “One should give a young lady some warning before you introduce her to your friends.” Elton moved to stand in front the two. “Well I am thoroughly delighted to finally get the pleasure to meet you Robyn and I am even more elated that you managed to make it here tonight. Taron was terribly disappointed that you couldn’t but when you shared the good news with him that you were on the way, well the biggest smile filled his face.”  Robyn felt her two hands being taken and held tight. “He was blessed to have someone as brave as you who was willing to take such a risk and do something so incredibly valiant for him. I know I am quite fond of Taron and am very grateful for your selfless actions and then continued compassion and empathy that you have shown him. Thank you so much for accepting my invite to come tonight. Anyone who can show such pluckiness in a terrifying situation is a woman I am excited to meet and is always welcome in my home with Taron.”
It took Robyn a few seconds to compose herself once Elton had finished speaking to her. It was such a surreal experience to be looking into the eyes of Elton John as he wore a pair of his famous glasses, dressed in a fabulous rainbow coloured jacket and black trousers but David spoke before she got the chance too and placed a hand on top of Elton’s who still held hers in his.
“Taron you should know better than to surprise people like this. Poor Robyn is already taking everything in and then you just walk up to us? A little advance notice is always welcomed in situations such as these. Robyn I can only repeat what Elton had said but it is a pleasure to meet you especially after everything you have done for Taron and can I say, you look beautiful.”
“Well I don’t think I have anything I can say that is anywhere near remotely as eloquent in reply.” Smiled Robyn as she finally found her voice. “But thank you so much for your kind words and your invite. While I know there has been excitement on Taron’s behalf for my arrival, I also know how much your foundation and charity means to you and I am honoured to have been invited. Now I can’t guarantee that I will actually bid on anything but I shall definitely make a face and pretend to be very disappointed when I don’t get a lot I was pretending to bid on.” She gave Elton’s hand a squeeze back and he smiled at her.
“Taron, she is a dote.” Grinned Elton. “And a keeper and I see why she makes you smile so much.”
Robyn, while still holding Elton’s hands turned to look at Taron. “What on earth have you been telling people about me?”
He placed his hands on her shoulders. “Only the truth.” He answered with a small smile.
She looked back to Elton. “Honestly though, thank you so very much for asking me to come along. It is an honour to be here. I can only apologise for my tardiness. I had training for my work this morning that I thought couldn’t be rescheduled but my manager worked something out for me.”
“The fact that you could make it here is enough for me. You have made Taron smile and that is all I can ask for.”
Robyn found her face almost frozen in a grin and she wished she could pinch herself as she stood in front of Elton and David. “I hope to keep it that way too.”
“So how have you found the evening so far?” Asked Elton as he let go of her hands.
“Your home is stunning and everyone I have met, or been introduced to have been lovely. A lot of hand shaking and hugging.”
“And thanking you I am sure.” Added David.
“A bit of that thrown in for good measure too.” Agreed Robyn.
“Might take my chance to thank you too.” Said Elton. “It is truly a selfless person who has a genuine and honest heart to save a life. I cannot imagine what you two have been through but I am glad you have each other and as like everyone else I am sure has told you, thank you for what you did for Taron. He has become one of my good friends and I am glad he now has a new one in you.”
“I might keep him around for a little longer. He does give a good squishy hug.”
Elton and David laughed. “I bet you keep him on his toes too.” Grinned David. “Everyone loves an Irish fiery woman.”
Robyn laughed and half hugged Taron around his waist when she saw him scowl a little. “He is learning that, granted the hard way sometimes.”
“Taron, I think you might have your hands full with his one. I love her!” Laughed Elton as he gave Robyn a hug and a kiss. “You are wonderful.”
“Well thank you Elton.”
“So, the evening hasn’t been too daunting for you then?” Asked David.
“It has been such a mad rush to get here and everything is all kind of blurring into each other but I know I am still pinching myself a little. I am sure Taron had already told you this, but I am a fan of your music.”
“He might have mentioned it. Said you went to one of my concerts I did in Ireland in Limerick.” Robyn took a look over her shoulder to Taron who was giving her his most innocent look. “I actually remember it well. Rained the whole concert but everyone danced and clapped along.”
“It was a great concert.”
“I shall have to get you to come along to my next one, one that is inside so you won’t be wet and cold.”
Robyn smiled. “I don’t mind the wet or cold. I am Irish. Comes with the terms and conditions when you are born.”
Elton and David laughed. “Taron also told me you are a big Queen fan.”
“Should I sent Taron away so you can fully tell me what secrets he has exactly told you about me?”
Elton laughed. “You are absolutely right Taron. A little firecracker.”
There was laughter from the group that stood together. “In answering your question Elton, yes I am a big fan of Queen.”
“Taron tells me you can sing Freddie.”
Robyn laughed. “Taron is going to be put in time out soon.” She turned to look at him, enjoying the smirk he wore, his eyes bright and playful. “So, we have been at this wonderful event for the last half hour and you have yet to offer to get me drink.” Placing her hands on his chest, she gave him a little push. “I think now would be a perfect moment to do so.”
“I think I should stay here with you. You told me you wanted me by your side the whole time.” Taron reached up and placed his hands on hers.
“Well now Taron, I think I should be safe enough standing here talking with Elton and David.” Robyn moved her hands from his and took a step closer to his friends.
“Taron go and get your guest a drink.” Insisted Elton. “I think you can trust us to watch her for you.”
Taron looked at Robyn who winked at him. Sighing he asked her what she wanted. “Surprise me.” She replied.
Taron leaned in and kissed her cheek. “I will be right back.”
Robyn watched as he walked away, greeting people as he walked past but turned back to Elton and David who were grinning at her. “You have him twisted around your finger Robyn.” David said to her.
“I have been known to bribe him with food. It works and also, I think he is just so thankful I made it here. So, Taron, what exactly has he been telling you?” She asked them.
“In short that you are biggest Queen fan and can sing Freddie though he has still not heard you sing him live yet and that you did something remarkable for him that saved his life.”
“That all?” She asked.
“He was bitterly disappointed when you had originally not been able to make it but since then had been literally hopping around the place with excitement. He is smitten with you Miss Quinn.”
Robyn smiled. “We are just friends and I am very glad to be able to be here for him.” David and Elton looked to each other when they heard the words friends. “He was just a little stressed about the red carpet.”
“Not the singing?” Asked Elton.
“No, he is very much looking forward to singing with you and me too if I am honest. I could listen to him sing all day.”
“He tells me you can sing though hasn’t heard you sing properly.”
“Well that’s a lie. We have sung with each other.”
“He has mentioned something about a sing off.” Smiled Elton.
“Ahh yes, this sing off he keeps trying to get out of. We made a deal in the 7/11 that we would have a karaoke battle. He would sing, well you and I would sing a Queen song but since he watched a DVD of my home towns musical societies performance of We Will Rock You where I played Scaramouche, he has been looking for a way out.”
“Not like Taron to back out of a sing off. You must be good.”
Robyn smiled. “I can hold a tune.”
“He said you have been in quite a few musicals too and are part of a gospel choir?” Said David.
Robyn blushed a little. “I feel like you might know things about me that I don’t even know.”
“Like I said, he is smitten with you.” Chuckled Elton
“Well then yes. Music is a huge part of my life. My go to place when I am feeling stressed or worried.”
“So, when do you plan on having this sing off?” Asked Elton. “You know I was very good friends with Freddie and I love that a female voice can take on his lead vocals.”
“Thank you Elton and I am not too sure. I was holding off until Taron was back to full strength and had a fair advantage. We have already sung a few songs together at the piano.”
“You play?”
“Badly.”
“Don’t listen to her.” Taron arrived back with four champagne flutes in his hands. “She plays beautifully. These are for you.” Taron handed two of the glasses to Elton and David. “Non-alcoholic.”
“Thank you, Taron.”
“And for you. Some champagne?” He questioned handing Robyn the glass.
“Thanks.” She took the glass from him and turned back the Elton and David. “And don’t listen to Taron. I play but I tend to play the same songs over and over so I get quite accomplished at particular songs but my skills need a revamp.”
“She is extremely musical.” Piped in Taron and he took a sip from his glass.
“So, you have told me Taron.” Beamed Elton. “Even if you feel your skills have lapsed Robyn, they are still with you and with some more training and lessons, you would be surprised how easily it all comes back to you. Please feel free tomorrow to play.” Elton gestured to the grand piano that they stood in front of.
“Your piano?” Asked Robyn, a little shocked.
“Well of course. I would love to hear you and Taron sing live together.”
Robyn turned to look at Taron. “You have been showing our videos to Elton John?” She asked.
“It’s Elton, Robyn.”
“You are lucky that excuse will work for you.” She turned back to their hosts. “You are very kind and I might just take you up on that offer. Maybe we might change the venue for our sing off too. I would love to have the opportunity to crush Taron singing Freddie while he sings Elton, in Elton John’s home.”
Taron had to cough as some of his drink slipped down his throat the wrong way.
“Robyn, I think that is something we can definitely arrange.” Winked Elton. “I also think you are going to have a wonderful time here with me and David this weekend.”
“I think so too.” Robyn clinked her glass with Elton’s as he held it out to her and she grinned. “I am just sorry I didn’t get here sooner. I love watching Taron squirm.” She reached over and rubbed his back. “Actually, something I know that none of you know, not even Taron but I was cast as Mimi in our musical’s production of RENT.”
Taron turned to her. “You got the part?”
“Yeah I found out last night but with all the rush of today, it slipped my mind to tell you.”
“Robyn!” Taron carefully threw his arms around her, making sure not to spill any of their drinks. “That is fantastic! I told you would you get the part.”
She grinned at he let her go. “It wasn’t a sure thing Taron. It was a popular part.”
“Well I think that deserves some congratulations and another drink.” Smiled Elton. “I am actually very curious now. I might even demand a duet with you instead of Taron.”
Robyn blushed a little. “No need for that at all and please don’t. I have been looking forward to hearing Taron sing with you.”
“Well maybe perhaps when the guests go.”
“I shall think about it.” Agreed Robyn.
“I am delighted for you about getting Mimi, Robyn.” Said Taron. “I know how much you really wanted that part.”
“Thank you. Rehearsals don’t start until the new year so I have time to process it all. It is going to be a good show.”
“I think I might have to keep a weekend free to come and see it.” Smiled Taron.
“Oh Jesus, I would definitely forget a line if I knew you were there. Let me get through rehearsals first Taron before you commit to anything.”
A light ringing of a bell sounded around the room and Robyn looked to Taron confused but he just smiled at her.
“Now my darling’s, as much as I would love to continue this wonderful conversation, it is time for the auction to start. Robyn…” Elton took her glass from her and gave it to Taron to hold and took her hands again. “It has been a pleasure meeting you at last. I am so glad you came and I am so very thankful for these talented hands. I want you to keep your promise to me that you and Taron will sing something together for me before you leave us.”
“Well that is a promise I don’t think I can break.”
“Wonderful!” Elton leaned forward and kissed her cheek. “Taron, she is breath-taking in every sense of the word.” He let go of Robyn’s hands and moved to give Taron a kiss on his cheek. “Please enjoy the auction and I will see you at the piano for our duet soon.”
Elton and David left the two and walked away, leading the way into the next room where the auction was taking place. Taron gave Robyn back her glass and she downed the champagne in one long drink.
“Whoa, chicken, take it easy.”
“That’s the only one I will drink like that, I promise.” She said as she gave her empty glass to a waiter who passed by. “Just needed it.”
“You ok?” Taron asked her as he gave his half-finished drink to the waiter too.
“Just a lot to take in.”
“Sorry for springing Elton on you.” He said as he took her close for a close hug. “Sometimes it’s better to pull the plaster off. He was excited to meet you.”
“He is something else.”
“Please don’t follow through for our sing off here with Elton.” He whispered in her ear.
Robyn laughed. “I am sticking to our karaoke deal.”
“Thank you.”
As she rested her cheek against Taron’s in their hug and although she tried to keep it in, a long yawn escaped her lips and she moved away from him so she could cover her mouth, keeping it there when she yawned again. “I am sorry Taron.”
He rubbed his hands up and down her arms. “I thought you looked tired.”
“It’s been a long three days. Emma was off at a conference and I got to be in charge.” She groaned as she yawned again. “Everything was fine at work, just a little extra busy for me. No drama.”
“Except the training this morning.”
She nodded. “Been up since five this morning.”
“Five?” He exclaimed.
“Just couldn’t sleep and cwtch wasn’t able to help either.”
“No wonder you are tired. You need a cosy duvet sleep.” He said grinning.
“That would definitely help.”
“Well how about we find a seat to sit on instead and we can watch the auction.”
“I think that is a great idea.” Robyn was delighted to be finally getting the chance to sit down. Just because she could walk in heels, didn’t mean she enjoyed them and her chosen gold pumps were a little higher than she would have liked and her feet were starting to feel the ache.
Taron linked his arm with her and escorted her towards another room alongside the one they had just been in, set with up with chairs and a small podium stage.  “Where you would like to sit?” He asked her.
“I really don’t mind. Are you going to bid on anything?” She asked him as he took one of the bidder’s paddles from a waiter
“Elton did mention something about a weekend away that piqued my interest but I highly doubt it. I know where I am staying for my next weekend off.” He replied as he guided her into a row of seats half way along the rows.
“Where?” Asked Robyn as she took an inside seat, while Taron sat on the outside, putting the paddle on the ground.
“This beautiful little apartment that is home to the best fucking couch in the world.” He grinned her way. His laughter grew as she bumped her shoulder with his and then placed her bag on the ground in-between them. “I happen to know there is always vacancy at this particular spot.”
“Well I do have a new house guest.” Robyn crossed her left leg over her right, the material of her dress slipping down, her fading golden tan of the skin on show but she didn’t bother to put the silk right and slipped her right hand into Taron’s left as it rested on his lap.
“Wait who?” Taron demanded.
“I have this cuddly blue dinosaur who lives in your corner now.” Robyn never tired of hearing Taron’s deep laugh and as she watched his shoulders shake with giggles, she laughed with him. “He has become very possessive of your corner Taron. You are going to have a fight on your hands.”
“Have I told you yet how happy I am that you were able to come Robyn?” He whispered to her as a hush fell over the room, Elton and David introducing the auctioneer. “Thank you for coming.”
Robyn didn’t reply but inched a little closer to him. She could hear the sincerity in his words and knew his appreciation didn’t need a confirmation from her. Their hug standing in the hallway said enough for the two of them to know how much this reunion meant to both of them.

FE3H x LoZ
Hey, I saw that you enjoyed my Zelda AU so I decided to expand upon it! This includes eight students for each house, and even strengths based on the Three Houses weapon types. Also for convenience all of the students are Hylian/Gerudo/basically human.
To set the scene, the Gerudo Empire is in the desert to the west, the Kingdom of Hyrule is in the north and east, and the Ordon Alliance is in the forests to the south. The main religion is the Church of Hylia, and the Officer’s Academy is still in the center of the continent because the name sounds generic enough. The curse of Demise exists, but records of it have been lost to time and none of the students are aware of it (cue emotional revelations and plot twists).
CRIMSON BOARS
Since there are so few Gerudo characters of actual plot relevance, I decided to include Ganon’s other allies from across the series, plus a few wild cards.
Ganondorf - house leader. Heir to the Gerudo Empire. Strong and very physically capable, as well as a firm leader. Strengths: Lance, Brawl, Reason, Authority
Ghirahim - Ganondorf’s cunning retainer. Only really ever thinks about himself and his master. Strengths: Sword, Reason
Cia - used to be a warm, angelic girl when she was little, but has become the opposite since then. She idolizes Ganondorf, but also admires Link from afar. Strengths: Faith, Authority, Flying
Lorenz Zant - a foreign exchange student from Twili, a faraway archipelago. Only friends with the people in his class, and hates everyone else. Especially despises Midna. Strengths: Brawl, Reason, Flying
Urbosa - probably the nicest person in the class. Has a motherly attitude. Very strong and protective of her allies. Strengths: Sword, Bow
Astrid - a quiet girl who is almost always studying. Also has an obsession with fortune telling. Strengths: Faith, Reason
Onox - son of an imperial general. Large and built, and loves training. Always agrees with Ganondorf. Strengths: Axe, Brawl, Heavy Armor
Ruto - daughter of a wealthy noble from Hyrule who became close to the emperor, but she does not always approve of the Empire’s methods. Very flirty, and has many admirers. Strengths: Lance, Riding
AZURE OWLS
These characters are all either Sages, Champions, or Resistance members.
Zelda - house leader. Crown princess of the Kingdom of Hyrule. Extremely smart, and though usually kind, can be cold and relentless on the battlefield. Strengths: Bow, Reason, Riding, Authority
Impa - rescued by Zelda during the Tragedy of Sheikah and has become her faithful retainer since then. Often found accompanying Zelda or praying. Strengths: Sword, Lance, Faith
Revali - son of a renowned warrior in the Kingdom. Thinks very highly of himself and looks down on those who are physically weaker than him. Often trains to the point of intense fatigue. Strengths: Bow, Flying
Mipha - a shy, quiet girl who mostly keeps to her room. Dotes on those who are injured despite her introverted nature. Strengths: Lance, Brawl, Faith
Medli - daughter of a famous musician. Incredibly skilled at playing the harp and dreams of becoming a star as well. Kind to everyone she meets, but has a reputation for being clumsy. Strengths: Axe, Flying, Authority
Byrne - A quiet student who often goes unnoticed. However, he is immensely skilled in battle, which tends to surprise people given how often he disappears during training. Strengths: Sword, Brawl, Heavy Armor
Shad - a scholarly student who is extremely interested in history. Will approach any random student to help him with his research. Unlikely friend to Ashei. Strengths: Faith, Reason
Ashei - the daughter of a noble, but she would rather be a knight than an heiress. Blunt and sometimes downright undignified. Unlikely friend to Shad. Strengths: Sword, Axe, Riding
VERDANT WOLVES
These characters are Link’s friends and companions from throughout the series.
Link - house leader. Future leader of the Ordon Alliance, though born a commoner. Kind and genuine, as well as very charismatic, but hides insecurities. Strengths: Sword, Faith, Riding, Authority
Ravio - son of a merchant family. Very close to Link, almost like a brother. Quite lazy, and would rather scam people than study. Strengths: Axe, Bow, Flying
Midna - the princess of Twili, who came to the Academy as a foreign exchange student. Admired by many for her beauty and charm. Incredibly snarky and mischievous, and often gets into trouble. Strengths: Lance, Reason, Flying
Saria - the youngest student at the Academy. A sweet and charitable girl who loves animals and feels at home around nature. Strengths: Bow, Faith
Daruk - a noble who dreams of becoming an accomplished knight. Very friendly and outgoing, but has a fear of dogs. Strengths: Brawl, Heavy Armor, Authority
Fi - a girl who is very religious and is usually found praying. Very analytical and excels in her studies. Often responds to her peers without emotion, and many have never seen her smile. Strengths: Sword, Flying
Groose - Link’s self-proclaimed rival. Always trying to one-up Link, much to Link’s exasperation. Has a massive crush on Zelda, and is willing to join the Azure Owls for free. Strengths: Axe, Lance, Brawl
Malon - a farmer girl from the Ordonian countryside. Works extremely hard, as it took a lot for her father to send her to the Academy. Known for her distinct singing voice. Strengths: Bow, Reason, Riding
OTHER NOTES
Despite moving some things around, such as their locations on the map and certain events like the Tragedy of Sheikah (Duscur), the nations here are loosely based on those in Three Houses: Hyrule = Adrestia, Gerudo = Faerghus, and Ordon = Leicester. (oh and Twili = Brigid)
Though Hyrule is a KINGDOM and Gerudo is an EMPIRE, Hyrule is larger because Gerudo is still growing and expanding. However by the timeskip Gerudo won’t have grown much because of Hyrule’s declaration of war.
The Tragedy of Sheikah basically went as follows: the people of the Sheikah region were close allies of the royal family, but were then blamed for the mass assassination of several nobles, including the queen. In retaliation, Hyrule massacred the people of Sheikah.
Since elements were pulled from many LoZ games, the three house leaders aren’t based on any specific incarnation. However, if I had to pick, Ganondorf would be from Ocarina of Time, Zelda would be from Breath of the Wild, and Link would be from Twilight Princess.
I haven’t really thought of who would be the leader of the church, or the faculty, or the equivalent of Byleth, but then again it’s not like this has to be an exact copy of Three Houses anyway. However I do think that Telma would make a wonderful stand-in for Manuela.
There are still cats in the Monastery (speaking of the monastery, I don’t have a name for it). Link and Saria give them the most attention.
I hope you enjoyed this!

notes from bae: OK ROUND TWO.... LET’S TRY SUBMITTING THIS AGAIN....
in short: HJHGDSFGFSGJDFSHD??? JDGFSHGFHS??? I LOVE THIS??? I LOVE THIS??
this is so well thought out im going to cry. instead, I am just going to go through everything in order (prob not ) and scream at things i want to point out
'no one knows about the curse of Demise until later' IM BWUBWUWBWUBBWUB NOO.... NOOO..... THIS IS GOING TO TEAR APART FRIENDSHIPS..... i NEED to see the confrontations after this, because.... that's so heartbreaking and I don't want to imagine it... but i Need to see it :((
i AdOre how you incorporate characters from across the games, too. seeing chars like Byrne, Onox and Astrid make my lil Zelda heart happy...
and speaking of the characters, I love the strengths you gavce them!!! and the backstories... because this REALLy makes me want to see their supports. can you imagine.... Midna and Zant, Ravio and Revali, Groose and Zelda, Groose and everyone, Link and Ghirahim trying to hold a friendly conversation (which. oh dear. doesn’t work)... there is SO MUCH POTENTIAL and i can only IMAGINE!!
if you have any story details sketched out, I NEED to know!! i esp liked how you adapted the tragedy of Duscur to the tragedy of Sheikah, since there’s already hints of hostility towards the Sheikah in 10,000yrs ago-BotW, so it’s definitely not remiss that they wouldn’t be blamed ;; and this also makes me intrigued about Zelda’s motives!! Why does Hyrule declare war? because of her own personal reasons pertaining to the tragedy? in response to the Empire? something else entirely??
same with Ganondorf.... WHAT makes him declare war.... because I don’t think it’s just a case of conquer n conquer..... eyes emoji....
(and ofc our boy Lonk. with the best team, imo.... I Love the Verdant Wolves. would join them ASAP. they look like the house with the most Chaos but ALSO a lot of POWER...)
ESSENTIALLY I JUST NEED STORY DETAILS and house leader interactions!!! because, pre-timeskip, the triforce trio are friendly?? Yes??? And then it all falls apart??? Yes???????
TELMA AS MANUELA. PLEASE. PLEEEEEEAAASE..... she’d be absolutely fantastic!!! I also think we could have Kaepora Gaebora in replace of the white owl at the bulletin boards. Just for some friendly little advice...
and of course!! Link and Saria give the cats the most attention!! Saria plays the ocarina for them, and Link canonically picks them and runs around while giving them cuddles.... EXCELLENT....
I also think Ravio would be a very good replacement for Anna. y’know, just to get the best bargains for the Wolves.... maybe steal for them a house, too.....
LORENZ LOOKING LIKE ZANT I SDJHHDSFH WHY HAVENT I NOTICED THIS BEFORE IM GOING TO CRY. IC ANT LOOK AT LORENZ ANYMORE WITHOUT SEEING ZANT P L E A S E SAVE ME I DIDNT WANT THIIIIS
also? Groose joining the Owls without any recruitment requirements??? I. Groose ily but shUT UP STOP THAT!!! LINK Probably just facepalms mournfully.... who else is going to play around with the Groosenator with him :((
IN SHORT: I LOVE THIS. SO MUCH. IT HAS MADE MY DAY AND I AM GOING TO NEVER STOP THINKING ABOUT IT

The ‘Failed’ Sacrifice
~ Ooooiii, hows it going fairies? I've been recently doing research & thought about BOTW 2 and the small cutscenes we get to see. And, of course, lots of theories have come out to figure out just WHAT exactly happened to Ganondorf & why he's dried out like a prune under Hyrule Castle 🏰 So join me in this semi-long theory of what I think happened to not only Ganondorf, but the Zonai Tribe as well... Also, your free to have your agreements & disagreements in the comments. Just...don't get harmful 😅 Alright, let's talk about the Zonai Tribe. Who were they and how did NEARLY their entire race mysteriously disappear? I say NEARLY because I believe their people still live, but I'll get to that a bit later. As we know, the Zonai were Ancient Warlike People during their time in Hyrule, though it seemed their people were pretty hidden from if not all, but most of those in Hyrule before Calamity Ganon struck. We also know that, thanks to the Barbarian Armor you can acquire in the game, that they were a strong Tribe and clearly from the 3 Labyrinths you can find in Gerudo Desert, Herbra Plains & behind Robbie's lab, they were clearly WAY more advanced than most Hylians, kinda like the Sheikah Clan, but... the real question is: if they were such a great and strong tribe...how did they go extinct (or to me, NEARLY extinct) ∆∇∆ - here's my main points I want to stick with: ONE: The Zonai & The Sheikah Clan had some kind of connection to one another. TWO: They "mysteriously" disappeared all at once because of a great sacrifice they made to keep Ganondorf locked away. THREE: The mysterious blue/green hand we see on Ganondorf heart before grabbing Link to help Zelda & him up was a way to stop Demise's cycle. Because...no reincarnation. No curse. FOUR: Someone, moreover the Sheikah, was close to the Royal Family who could have possibly tricked Ganondorf into going under the castle to "have the upper hand" on Hyrule. [C]∆∇∆ Okay, so let's start with the first. I believe the Zonai & The Sheikah Clan had some kind of connections with one another, though it seemed the tribe were seemingly standoffish to most of Hyrule. I say this because if you enter in any of labyrinths, what's the first thing you see? Specifically, in the air. [IMG=C8H] [CIU]Guardian Skywatchers. And I think we can all agree that sometimes these things can be annoying to shoot down, especially if you have terrible aim like me 🙂, but that's not the point. Now I know most may say: "Those could have been placed there AFTER The Zonai disappeared" And that could be true, which is why I'm not 100% sold on them working together, BUT, say for instance if that wasn't the case. Say if someone was so convincing to the tribe that they could help them achieve the one goal they had in mind: Stopping Ganondorf. Now, I say it may have been the Sheikah who leaned onto the Zonai because it was clear 100 years ago that Zelda's Triforce wasn't awaking & without a Royal Psychic ( which is usually ONE of the women in the Royal Family, possible Zelda's mother ) they were desperate for a way to get more time so Zelda could awaken her power since her mother couldn't teach her. Now, I say Zelda's mother could have been the one with the psychic ability because it's said that some females in the Hyrule Family have this magic stood upon them & pass down their knowledge of the next generation shows signs, meaning that not ALL princesses & queens of Hyrule have this ability. As we know, Zelda's mother died when she was only 6 from a mysterious illness & she didn't have a chance to learn her teachings. Some even theorize that she was poisoned by someone close to the Royal Family who could have been a Yiga Spy, but I don't know. It's not impossible considering the time era Legend of Zelda takes place in for if you were someone with such HIGH standard, you would have a lot of enemies & needed to watch who you kept close to you... Now without Zelda's mother's ability, the Sheikah were at a standstill. Their Clan was already split into two: The Sheikah and The Yiga Clan from their technology being thrown away because the Royal Family feared of them overthrowing them, so without their greatest inventions of this time era, they needed something that could assist Zelda while she searched for that THING to help unlock her power...which leads me to the Zonai. It's clear the Zonai were around before and during The Great Calamity, but not after..or so it's said. I believe that the Sheikah, without telling the King Rhoam or Zelda of their plan, went to the Ancient Tribe and realized they had the same idea of getting rid of Ganondorf once and for all to stop the endless cycle of this curse. Now, I can't fully say WHAT the labyrinths were for. Maybe a test for Link, but they feared others would go near it and enter themselves? (Which I think might have been possible because if you interact with anyone who notices the Sheikah Slate on Link's hip after awaking, they always say something along the lines of "That's A Sheikah Slate" And never really "THE Sheikah Slate". If there was only ONE in existence, wouldn't they say THE instead of A? Idk) Maybe they just wanted to keep outsiders out & insured that with a long & complicated maze? Or maybe they were doing their Ancient Art Magic in each area to see if it were a good place to hold the King of The Desert? ( and yes, I know, from one of Link's memories that Zelda tried to enter, but didn't have access. Could it possible that the shrines were only made for Link? Or maybe that particular Sheikah Slate is like the Master Sword and only responds to him because it only has one task: assisting the hero.) Regardless of what the labyrinths were for, it's clear that the Sheikah have left their mark on these ancient artifacts and knew of more knowledge on this tribe than anyone else. Now remember, the Zonai worshiped the Water Dragon, AKA Farosh 🐉 so they were clearly those who trusted somewhat in The Golden Goddesses...maybe. ∆∇∆ Now onto my second point. They mysteriously disappeared without a trace, which is strange considering they were clearly in a LOT of areas of Hyrule. From the sandy beaches in Lurelin to the hot desert all the way to the colder regions of the Hebra..it was clear their tribe might have been bigger than most expected....either that or they were just really sneaky. I like to say that their "mysterious death" was really a noble sacrifice. Remember that if this is true, it isn't the first time someone else, other than Zelda and Link, stepped in and tried to stop the Demon King. In Twilight Princess, the ones know as the Six Sages also took matters into their own hands & attempted to stop Ganondorf by stabbing him in the chest with The Sword of The Six Sages... But they failed miserably, even thinking that the gods were playing a cruel joke when seeing Ganondorf had The Triforce of Power on his left hand, leading to the king breaking free & killing one of the six Sages before they used The Mirror of Twilight to send him away and think of their actions. Which...if were being honest...the goddesses have some things messed up about them, but that's a different rant for another time. Now I say they had a noble sacrifice because one of things we see in the short cutscene of BOTW 2 is the famous Lumious Stone that can found just about everywhere in Hyrule, but specifically underground there's A LOT OF IT. And if we read the description of the material, it's clear that some of Hyrule like to theorize it glows so bright because their are souls trapped inside. Now, clearly, there's a LOT of lumious stone in this one area, and if my theory is right tat the Zonai were one of the people who used their ancient magic to try and seal away Ganondorf, I feel it would have taken A GREAT AMOUNT of magic to do so considering we know how strong not only Ganondorf is, but the Triforce of Power. Hell..it stopped him from dying by a goddess forged weapon! YOU TELLIN ME THAT AINT STRONG!? I believe that possible not only the Zonai, but some of the Sheikah Clan, died doing a noble cause of holding Ganondorf back, or at least his body, to keep him from a new reincarnation. Alright...I know this is a lot. Take a breather. Get some snacks and a drink because here's POINT 3: This caught everyone's attention. The Hand. Off the back, we can tell this clearly Ganondorf's newly found prison & a terrible and dark one at that. I mean, cmon, I personally wouldn't want to be mummified and have my heart grabbed at by a hand, but that's just me Now from this hand we can tell it's the same color as the ones that reside around Lumious Stone, The Fallen Champions, & The Monks when taking their Spirit Orbs to give to the Hylia Statues when exchanging it during prayer...kinda like Link is the key to setting their soul free for doing their deed for Hylia. I believe a lot of spirits were brought together in sealing away Ganondorf....a lot of ANGRY spirits, but as we see in BOTW 2 cutscenes that it's clear the hand not only moved itself (or the spirits moved themselves) to help Link and Zelda when they almost fell to their doom. And, even though this is a different game, I make the comparison of a lot of souls in ONE BODY to Noob Cybot from Mortal Kombat. Even though he appears as one person, there are lot of souls stood inside of him and one of his quotes are "We are many. You are one". The power of the hand, now given to Link, could be the spirits last attempt at helping Link and Zelda seal away Ganondorf considering it seems The Master Sword isn't as strong as it use to be ten to thousands of years ago. But in doing so, they released the seal that held Ganondorf captive for those past 100-10,000 years. I'm sure the only freedom Ganondorf had was The Malice that leaves his body (which is just a mixture of rage and hate..and honestly I'd be mad too if my only escape was a spirit form of myself) and his mind, if it wasn't already gone by then. Because of the seal now being broken, our beautiful demon king was up from his long nap 😅 I mean...cmon now...theorized to be bad or not, Ganondorf is FIIIIINNNNEEEE 😍 and I would give myself to him, but we're not here for my girly fantasies. And now was prepared to release havoc on Hyrule once more. Now, I say that this was a attempted by the Zonai and Sheikah to hold Ganondorf back because even though it's clear Ganondorf can still attack in spirit forms and smaller, puppet forms, as we see with the BLIGHTS, Ganondorf can't reincarnate if the DOESN'T HAVE A BODY FOR IT. Clearly when Ganondorf dies in his physical, Gerudo form, it takes Eons later for him to reform and be born into the world again, but...his body was still under Hyrule....and it could be possible, just like the Monks, that he was still alive, but had no ability to move, leading him to release so much hate in the world that it created Blights and Calamity Ganon, along with Dark Beast Ganon And now with that seal gone and nothing holding him back, the Demon King was Awaken once more, but...my final question is...how did he get down there in the first place? ∆∇∆ I'll try making this last part short considering this was longer than I expected. Also, no more pictures passed this point. I've already reached the MAX if you couldn't tell 😅 Now this is my own thought. I believe someone in the Sheikah Clan who served the Royal Family set Ganondorf up. I say this because I can't think of any other reason why Ganondorf would be hiding below the castle and not strike. There's also my thought that Ganondorf was either led there or possible kidnapped and brought to the sacrificial grounds below Hyrule castle. And I know some might say: "Ganondorf...kidnapped? That's impossible" But we have no clue HOW STRONG the Zonai's magic really was. Even in Twilight Princess, those who wielded a very strong and ancient magic had power great enough to take over Hyrule for their terrible desires, leading them to living in the Twilight Realm, so it's not as if it's not possible that this power was equally as great, but used for a different cause. Whose to say the similar green color of the Twilight Magic isn't being used once again, but this time for good and not selfish greed for the power of the Triforce? I believe that if Ganondorf was led to this area, he was clearly betrayed. Now, in many incidents  in past time eras, Ganondorf has been betrayed by many and his power was turned against him, which I hate, but this isn't about my personal feelings on the king. I have TWO ideas of how it could have happened: Say if the "spy" for Ganondorf was actually working for the Royal Family and tricked him to believe that they were getting as much intel as possible to keep from him being killed by Zelda and Link. What if the spy had been discovered by a fellow Sheikah member and eliminated them to keep things as they should have been? What if they gained so much of Ganondorf trust to the point where he thought they were a ally that they gave him the idea of going under Hyrule Castle, hiding for a certain period of time and was ambushed by the power of the Zonai and The Sheikah Clan? The other idea is that someone was ONCE loyal to the Royal Family, but betrayed them and went to Ganondorf instead. I think this is possible because it's clear the Royal Family has dumped the Sheikah Clan many times and doesn't trust them fully (which is understandable in that day in age, but still) and a few banded together to betray the Royal Family. Telling Ganondorf of the technology they created and how they were planning on using it against him, leading to him creating the Blights and attacking all 4 divine beast and the champions, but they were figured out, forced to reveal where Ganondorf was hiding OR someone followed them and found out the truth and set them up under the castle, but maybe not all, and this birthed The Yiga Clan in secret. It could have been possible that Master Kohga could have been there as well, or heard information of it, considering the Sheikah can live up to 100 years plus as we see with Impa, Robbie and Purah, along with the monks, but idk if it was Master Kohga in particular considering how goofy he is, but some like to theorize that he's a descendent of Zant because he mentions something of his great great grandfather's magic that was once sealed away was taught to him. Not to mention, they have similar personalities and fighting styles. So it could be possible...that the power of the Twili tried so hard to get rid of ten to thousands of years ago...still lives on, but now, used for good instead of evil by the Zonai. I could go on and on about this, but I clearly need more information on the whole thing. That and this is getting way too long. These are just my theories of what may be in the story line of BOTW 2. I hope you fairies liked this one 🧚‍♀️ PS: if you didn't notice, the same symbol that's on the walls in the cutscene of the SWIRL that can found on other works of the Zonai are the SAME as the symbol of Lurelin. This is what I meant when I said that it's possible that their people are still alive, but either the people of Lurelin don't know of their history considering most of their tribe died or was lost OR they know, hold some power, but keep it secret from outsiders of the village and disguise themselves as "noble fishermen" . I also think it's strange that Lurelin wasn't effected by the Calamity considering it was BEHIND that great defense wall where Zelda awakens her power & Link nearly dies. I say it's strange because I feel like Lurelins people & the Zonai have a very strong connection, but that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY ‼️
