In the first episode when Argos says this, we just treat it as a joke. We just think he's being ignorant and annoying.

But what if he wasn't actually being ignorant?

In Argos deals with death episode, we find out that Argos lived with his great great grandpa and he had no other family relatives, and his grandad was a banana leaf. Now in the void ppl are usually racist to banana leafs, so maybe that's the reason his grandad didn't have a lot of friends (Quote from Argos, "It's just sad..he didn't have any friends. I'm gonna be the only one at his funeral"). And also, in the Argos birthday episode, we find out that Argos never had any friends. This might be because ppl didn't wanna be friends with him cuz his grandad is a banana leaf. Which means that this quote is actually true, he did go through a lot of struggles with loneliness throughout his childhood because he's one sixteenth banana leaf. Now he did worded it weird, like people treat him badly just cuz he's one sixteenth banana leaf and not cuz of his banana leaf grandad, but can we really blame him for it? That man has never had a friend before and the only person he talked to is like small talk with random ppl he work for and also his grandad. Me personally I think this was just him trying to be empathetic and helpful, and not realise that saying that is actually pretty annoying.

That new traveling tips with Argos episode has me thinking that Argos definitely knows more than he's letting on. To me, the only two reasonable options here are:

A) Argos has experienced the horrors of void 1 before, and it was one of the 'accidents' that killed off most of his family, or

B) Argos is hiding something in there. Probably a bunch of dead bodies, or hostages.

the start of the song all the way up until 1:40 is adam singing to oliver:

“when you’re gone i feel alone again, the voices cannot hold my hand” <- this is adam talking about his deep yet hidden dislike to oliver so often leaving the house and going places since adam never leaves the house.

“maybe i’m just an anomaly, even my demons have their families” <- a lot of people presume adam is an unseeable wearing a skin suit, hence the mention of being an anomaly. as seen in other series’s ashur has made, people like argos and mr plant are still able to feel love and affection although not being humans. that’s all adam wants.

“you do the talking, sew up my mouth if i can’t keep it closed!” <- adam never speaks to oliver, at least he hasn’t yet. for now we know he just can’t speak. but we also know that the skin suits can stretch so remember not to smile too much in them as it can scare people such as oliver. adam neglects this rule, smiling as much as he wants which leaves a disturbing expression hence the “sew up my mouth” line.

“left me hangin’ at the station, but you’ll be back for me soon” and “something tells me you aren’t coming, guess that i’m truly doomed!” <- are both lines calling back to his loneliness when adam leaves. i mean, since he killed kitty/breakfast, there’s been nobody in the house when oliver leaves. not to mention the fact that oliver most likely leaves for hours at a time if he’s still in college plus the amount of time he spends getting groceries. that must be hella lonely for adam.

(the screaming in the background of the song are most likely adam wanting to speak to oliver so badly but he can’t, and the laughing before the “SHUT UP!!!” would probably viewers or outsiders/humans in their world poking fun at the two.)

now, let’s talk about the last part of the song: from 1:40 to 3:07. this is definitely oliver speaking now. look at the lyrics:

“i overhear your brain when it’s close to mine; i know we’re not the same, my heart’s on the line.” <- this would be oliver acknowledging the fact that adam most likely isn’t human and is harming him unintentionally. from the first 2 episodes, we’ve seen adam as a pretty sensitive person/someone who gets scared and shaken up easily. that would explain the “my heart’s on the line”.

we also know that through the times adam has hurt oliver, he never seems mad at him. maybe a bit weirded out, but you can tell he cares about and respects adam deeply even though this friendship even resulted with his cat being murdered and eaten. he’s waiting for adam to be able to open up to him more even though we as viewers know that probably won’t happen with someone like adam. but oliver is patient. -> “you’re slowly killing me taking your time. and yet, i don’t mind. you’re slowly killing me, but please take your time.”

Well, we’ve seen sentient flowers on Argo’s gardening tips and they seem way more sentient from the ones at shops… perhaps they’re just a different type..? Like you said before (I think). Reminds me of Goofy and Pluto from Mickey Mouse aswell (which is kinda ironic since you were saying about duck tales) but I honestly have no idea anymore. I don’t think it’s supposed to make sense anyways.

When did Mr plant stopped wanting to kill Argos and fall in love with him?

In the first episode, Argos visits Mr plant's house 2 tell him about his dna results. The narrator tells us that "Mr plant doesn't care much for them, but even introverts need company once in a while". And also Mr plant fantasised about killing Argos probably because he's annoying. This suggests that Mr plant most likely didn't like Argos, but only tolerate him cuz he didn't have any other friends.

His feelings for Argos start to SLIGHTY change in the moon guy episode where Argos gives him a star. He now thinks that Argos might not be as bad as he think, but he still doesn't like him. This is implied cuz he rejected Argos' invitation 2 go stargaze and killed the kids he was supposed 2 babysit for Argos.

His feelings for Argos start to get conflicted in the episode where he gets a job. This is the point where he starts to actually appreciate Argos a bit. This is because of this guy who calls him says that he's lonely n asking his help 2 make a friend. This make Mr plant realise that he's lucky to have someone who cares about him (Argos). The fact that he's starting 2 appreciate Argos is reinforced in the fact that he willingly visits Argos' void 2 watch TV with him. This is probably the first time he's ever done that, cuz like Argos was so surprised when he showed up in his void, meaning he didn't expect him 2 visit him.

Mr plant starts to treat Argos as an actual 'friend'. Making these star thingys for him on Christmas, listening 2 his rant about the present head guy, and even helping him clean up the murder.

Then finally, in the Valentines day episode, he gives Argos a heart and they officially become boyfriends. But he still wasn't very sure abt it. This is suggested because he wasn't planning 2 give Argos a heart, he only happened to do that cuz he killed the valentine heart shop manager guy. And also when Argos asked him if this meant that they were "more than friends", he shrugged instead of nodding. This shows that he's kinda uncertain.

Anyways so the episodes after this one shows that Mr plant's feelings of Argos isn't conflicted anymore, and now is actually sure that he loves him.

Soooo yeah this is how his feelings towards Argos changed and developed throughout the series! :D

This idea came to me in a vision(I was being delusional). I'm thinking of making a few mini comics, or at least a few art works of a twomp AU based on this whole thing.

What if the voids are just various levels of hell/purgatory. And that's why everyone there are either not humans at all, or very twisted looking versions of them. It's because all the void 'natives' like the object heads or whatever Argos is are all demons, and the humans that move to the void are actually just all dead.

The reason why so many humans are 'moving to the void' lately (dying) is because some major apocalypse is happening on earth and killing everyone. Like a 3rd world war or another pandemic. Satan or Lucifer is Ashur himself, (ok e seen a lot of people talk about him as a God in cannon, and I guess that works as well).

The reason why no one is allowed in Void one is because it's like, the entrance where the living souls cross over to hell. If anyone enters it they'll see some giant sign saying 'abandon all hope, all thee who enter' or something.

The trains are like an updated version of the ferries that are used to transport souls in a bunch of mythologies, because times are changing. Maybe he'll has its own version of glacial warming, but instead of the oceans rising, they all dried up, so they don't need boats anymore and are using trains.

Argos is like, part of some important family in hell. That's why he's so different from every other void being, and why all his family members were killed in 'accidents'. It was just other people trying to end his bloodline or whatever.(This would be a cool idea regardless of the hell au thing)

So yea, just dumping a bunch of my thoughts here mainly so I don't forget them, but also to get some other peoples opinions on them because I need to know if you guys would be interested in me making art of something like this. =]

The Morality of Mr.Plant and How It Potentially Ties Into Autism Coding

character analysis/I'm not gonna put any more effort into this i just needed to dump my thoughts somewhere, sorry if i sucks a little

The reasoning behind his kills says a lot, and from what I've gathered there have only ever been two.

1. Out of annoyance but specifically IMPULSE spurred by annoyance

2. As an act of justice/out of empathy

Anger Issues

Getting into the first reason, it is important to realize it is only ever impulse AND annoyance combined, as demonstrated during plargos pre-relationship dynamic, Mr. Plant experienced a similar annoyance with Argos that he does with all his murder victims and yet Argos lived. This is because he doesn't kill the people who just annoy him, he kills the people who get annoying enough that the impulses win and Argos never pushed him far enough.

The fact that he never plans any of his kills plays into this idea as well. He does not seek violence even once in the series. At most he fantasizes in moments of annoyance[in the pilot with Argos], he gets the impulse.

What the first and main reason behind Mr. Plants kills says is that Mr. Plant doesn't seek violence, he doesn't enjoy it, it just happens.

Empathy

The second reason behind his murders brings a lot more to light morally speaking.

Mr. Plant kills the adoptive parents when he sees what they did to their last child. This is clear cut, he killed them in an act of justice for what they did to the monster child, in fact it was somewhat implied he did not only kill them but tortured them first which is a something hes never shown to do in the series.

A less extreme example is the tomato man that he turns into soup. This further demonstrates that he has a distinction from right and wrong as he resists his initial violent impulse because "the man was just doing his job after all." Only to change his mind when the tomato says something that pushes him past that limit.

This means that he is capable of experiencing empathy.

This would seemingly make Mr. Plant an enigma given that he's murdered plant children without any empathically himself. But I believe it just means his situation is more complicated than what meets the eye, so here's how all of this ties into Mr. Plant as a character.

To sum up all of what I've just explained, Mr. Plant isn't sadistic, predatory in his violence. And Mr. Plant, despite doing unjust things and lacking empathy towards his victims, does have a moral compass or sense of justice, and does have empathy at least sometimes.

On the contrary he also treats entities as disposable, when they annoy him too much he ends them and he doesn't feel bad about it, even stating in an episode "He hadn't even hurt anyone, or at least anyone important."

This is where I introduce my theory, that being said I believe (intentionally or not) Mr. Plant is unbelievably autism coded.

A black and white mentality is a common autism symptom(one I experience as well✨️)

With a black and white mentality and being as easily irritable as he is, what happens is he meets someone, they annoy him and immediately Mr. Plant (subconsciously) starts seeing them as a bad thing with no redeeming qualities. He's so easily provoked he subconsciously puts nearly everyone in with the black and they aren't lives that matter anymore, they are obstacles or annoyances. He's also put some characters in with the white, (the blue mushroom, the monster child, Argos eventually) and he deems them worthy of protection and justice

It is very clear how Mr. Plant treats the entities around him as less than, especially with how he doesn't care at all about his victims. It checks out to me that this is because everyone gets grouped into the bad immediately due to his irritability and black and white mentality and in turn living beings become nothing more than a nuisance to him(aka something he can't feel empathy for).

When faced with a child being killed on film, it makes sense that the child would be lumped in with the white, and the abusers would be lumped in with the black. And it makes sense that the child who cut off Mr. Plant's pettle was lumped in with the black as well.

No, it's not fair at all that Mr. Plant holds an annoying child to the same level as a child murder but I don't think this makes Mr. Plant entirely evil per say.

Conclusion

My overall thoughts on Mr. Plant is that he(like me and many other autistic people) has a silly divergent mind that struggles to see the in-between in people. They came off wrong and now they're too annoying to empathize with, or (like with Argos) he's too kind; he isn't a bad entity for killing those guys. And the lack of empathy combined with murderous impulses results in the impulses winning.

He knows his rights from wrongs when he's thinking about it, he just struggles to see past his brain's predisposed notions of good and evil. I think he's in a moral gray area as of now but I'd love to see an arc where he realizes the nuisance in his fellow entities and that in order to pursue a healthy relationship with argos he needs to try and fight against his black and white mentality.
