i kept everything mostly the same in terms of when the strawhats meet each person. i didn’t want to change too much to avoid changing important character moments that happen in canon

this isn’t a super heavy rewrite, there’s a lot of backstory to juggle and i’m not equipped to write such an in-depth au rn 😭 but i might make separate posts for arcs like water 7 or wci!! though i kept a lot of backstory the same theres a lot of rewrite potential for those sagas

nami, vice capt.

not much changes!! instead of forcing her to chart maps, arlong might just have her around as a servant girl. regardless, the deal to buy back cocoyashi village still stands and nami works hard for it

generally i think her selflessness and loyalty to her village makes her fit to be a vice captain. she looks out for people at her own detriment and was willing to take the fall for such much ahhh

in my opinion she’s good vice captain material!! perhaps a cowardly one but still reliable. also a good treasurer for the crew as always

zoro, cook

zoro grew up training to be a swordsman and competes against kuina, but he also has a knack for cooking as a hobby. he’s mostly the same but sanji’s “stuck on a rock in the middle of the ocean with zeff” happens to him instead (flute-of-pan suggested the cook always suffers the fate of starvation)

kuina decides to run away and zoro is roped into her plans. it goes wrong and they get stranded on a rock, eventually arguing and ending up on opposite sides of the rock with the little food they brought

zoro finds out kuina gave him everything they had soon after she stops replying to him. he’s rescued thanks to kuina’s dad, who tracked them down with vivre cards. kuina’s had long since burned up

similar to canon, zoro continues striving to become the world’s strongest after her death. i think this backstory coupled with him eating those stomped riceballs at the very beginning of the story is so….(GESTURE) it’s very reminiscent of sanji’s no-waste-policy which he would absolutely also have

sanji, sniper

germa 66 has a mafia aesthetic now 👍i only have the willpower to draw reiju here she ended up kind of cluttered but i like my vision

sanji’s backstory is mostly the same: he and his siblings are genetically modified to be the perfect soldiers, but he had a kind nature that made him the target of abuse. after reiju helps him escape, he ends up with zeff and worked as a janitor. zeff loses his leg while trying to save sanji in a maritime accident; though they don’t get stranded anywhere, sanji has to be indebted to him somehow

when the baratie is opened, he works as a busser/guard against unruly guests. flute-of-pan mentioned that he could fire the canons of the ship

when the strawhats meet him on the baratie, sanji still gives don krieg’s crew food. i don’t think his kindness around that would disappear just bc he doesn’t have a whole starving incident

usopp, navigator

on top of bluffing about being the leader of a huge pirate army, he would create fake maps and brag to everyone in syrup village (especially kaya) about these places he so evidently visited. kaya loved his drawings even if the places weren’t real

his dream is to create a Real map of the whole world, not a fake map that he makes up out of stories. drafting the real world makes him a brave explorer of the seas, which he also wants to become :)

when the strawhats meet him, they were basically relying on nami’s limited sailing skills to get around. not only do they get the going merry but they have a real, reliable navigator now! AND he’s multitalented B)

chopper, helmsman

from a young age he set his sights on sailing the seas to escape from the isolation he faced on drum island. he would routinely make little boats for himself to escape the island on, failing each time, and hiriluk would always nurse him back to health

instead of studying to be a doctor, chopper has a general desire to be helpful and acted as an assistant to hiriluk’s medical endeavors

both flute-of-pan and onethousandsunnies pitched that chopper studied stuff like ocean currents!! overall he studied the ocean real hard but would never leave the island without hiriluk

hiriluk’s death would glue him to doctor kureha’s side and it isn’t until the strawhats come that he has the courage to embark on a new journey

franky, muscian

bro grew up running around water 7 trying to get people to join his band. tom and iceberg are still his family. his shipbuilding skills don’t go past an amateur level in this au. he would develop a line of dinky guitars (or instruments in general) that also had lasers/canons/confetti in them. his dream is A FRANKY WORLD TOUR 🤞FREE ADMISSION

many of his weaponized instruments littered the shipyard, spandam uses them in his attack

after the whole tom/spandam situation unfolds, iceberg is the one to find and reconstruct franky into a cyborg after getting run over by the sea train. but he won’t implement piano key abs no matter how much franky asks 🙄

the newly formed franky family protect the city and throw unsolicited concerts in the middle of the street B)

robin, shipwright

though she’s not an archeologist, she still grew up on ohara! instead of archeology, she’s a gifted engineer. her devil fruit made her an outcast and her strange, misunderstood inventions did not help her case

when jaguar d saul gets stranded on ohara, robin constructs the raft for him :) the buster call unfolds the same as canon except this time, everyone’s actually not lying when they say robin can’t read poneglyphs! she never learned!! again flute-of-pan had the cool idea that she is wrongly accused. still, she’s pursued and branded as a devil child

she ends up with crocodile, who believes she can read poneglyphs. she takes advantage of this and earns his protection from the government but her ruse is uncovered when she lies to croc about what alabasta’s poneglyph says (girl cannot read that!)

robin dreams of creating a ship that can carry her and the friends she wishes to have. after meeting robin in alabasta she joins the strawhats!!

brook, doctor

he was the doctor of the rumbar pirates. an injured laboon came to like brook after he nursed him back to health!! when yorki became sick from disease brook tried his hardest to cure him, but failed :(

he was doomed to watch his crewmates die to poison that he cannot hope to cure because he himself was also dying. when he came back thru his fruit it was already too late :( the rumbar pirates Do record a song for laboon though this event cannot be edited 🤞

met in thriller bark; ik that’s a long ass time to go without a real doctor on board

by the time they meet brook everyone’s already so battered that he has to go to town on them with gauze and stitches. the company delights him ^_^

jinbei, archeologist

i mentioned this in the first post abt this au but his interest in history sparked thanks to the history of joyboy and fishman island being so intertwined. at some point in his youth, jinbei frequently visited ohara (prior to the buster call) and grew a strong relationship with the scholars there (i’m just assuming they wouldn’t be racists 🤪) he runs into robin a handful of times

he secretly learns how to read poneglyphs here leading up to the buster call. he wasn’t on the island when it happened so he managed to avoid robin’s fate

his story proceeds the same from there with the neptune army, joining fisher tiger, meeting koala, etc…

i enjoy the idea of getting invited to be a warlord by the government while simultaneously being one of the most wanted people in the world for knowing poneglyph secrets

Tessa yawns and blinks quickly to chase away the sleepiness. Her brother Tyler is sitting on a couch next to her, stuffing his mouth with popcorn. They decided to go for a Star Wars marathon tonight and Tessa is already regretting it. It’s true it’s only barely midnight and a Friday evening but she had a tough day at work and her eyes are closing for the last hour or so.

“Wake up!” Ty nudges her with his elbow and offers her a can of energy drink.

Tessa cringes with disgust and shakes her head. She would never put such toxic junk into her body. She glances over to the floor by the heater where she put two single bed mattresses covered in stretch bed sheets. They serve as extra large and comfortable dog beds for her four dogs. They are already happily sleeping for hours and Tessa (not for the first time) is envious about their life. She would love to just crowl there and sleep surrounded by them.

Suddenly her phone beeps. A message? At this hour? It must be something from her operator. Tessa picks her phone but the message is not SMS. It’s a text from an unknown number. The sleepiness is gone.

Nathan: Hello there! Do you remember me? From the company Christmas party?

“Send me his phone number and name and ask the cab driver where he’s taking you and text me so I can inform the police if you don’t come back. And take the taser gun and pepper spray with you.” He says, his eyes never leaving the screen with Luke Skywalker destroying the Death Star.

“As always. I’ll text you when I arrive on the spot and everytime I manage to go to the restroom.”

Ty shows thumb up.

Tessa jumps into a cab dressed for success but she’s covered in a nice black coat. She quickly interviews the cab driver and texts Tyler. Once she’s standing in front of a fancy hotel, she texts her brother again and heads to the hotel bar. She leaves her coat in the dressing room so she enters the bar with confidence, dressed in tight shimmery leggings combined with black leather and lace tunic. It’s not exactly revealing apparel but inspires the imagination. Tessa works hard, doing yoga and weightlifting, to maintain her hour-glass figure. She’s not exactly chubby but she’s got plenty of curves, suggesting she’s not denying herself a cake from time to time. Tessa wears her shoulder-length wavy blond hair out of her steel grey eyes using black stretch bandana.

Tessa quickly scens the room and notices a tall dark stranger by the bar. It must be Nathan. She strides confidently towards him. When she’s half way there, he looks up from his drink and his eyes lock with hers. A smug smile appears on his face and Tessa can’t wait to wipe it off.

“You look even better than I remember from the Christmas party.” Nathan says as Tessa takes a seat on a bar stool next to him. “What do you drink?”

“Matcha tea if I’m supposed to stay awake at this hour.” Tessa says and nods at the bartender to call him.

“You’re not a night-owl, huh?” Nathan chuckles. “But seriously? A tea?” Tessa looks into his jade green eyes, never dodging. Nathan gulps and breaks eye contact to speak to the bartender. He asks for matcha tea for you.

“Honestly, I’m not used to listening to somebody’s orders like this.”

“And yet you are here!” Nathan smiles at her with confidence. His face is indeed handsome, all sharp angles, beautiful eyes, attractive lips and smile. He’s got short black hair, nicely layered and styled. The impression of perfection is only disturbed by the two-day shade of facial hair. Interesting detail. Men like him usually don’t skip shaving. Everything else on him is meticulously perfect.

“Scolding someone doesn’t have the same effect over messages.” Tessa retorts.

Nathan laughs again and stands up. “Why don’t we sit at the table and have dinner so you can go back to bed…” He makes a pause and checks Tessa out shamelessly. “... be it yours or mine.”

Tessa rolls her eyes and follows him to the table. She is served with her tea instantly. Nathan is truly tall, his body underneath an expensive suit is likely lean and toned. His walk has a certain rhythm suggesting he might be a good dancer and… well… lover.

Tessa skips the meals in the menu and checks the desserts, ogling Nathan from behind the menu.

“Anything you would like to bite?” Nathan looks up and straight into her eyes, grinning mischievously.

“Certainly but let’s eat first.” Tessa says with a quiet voice, watching the effect of her words on him.

Nathan smiles happily, clearly thinking this will end well for him. Waiter comes, Tessa orders an ice-cream sundae for herself. Nathan looks a bit surprised but he orders beef steak for himself. “Ice-cream? Don’t you want anything more?” He asks as soon as the waiter is gone.

“I’ve already had dinner. I’m fine with just the dessert.” Tessa says and looks into his eyes. “Why do you need me to sit here with you?” She asks.

Nathan shifts a bit on his chair. “I told you. I don’t like to eat alone.”

“Why me, though? You could easily hit on any woman in this hotel.”

“I remembered our meeting at the party. That’s all.”

“Did I make such a big impression on you?”

“Well, clearly I didn’t impress you when you didn’t remember me.” He chuckles but it’s more insecure than joyful laughter. Nathan clears his throat. “Why did you come?”

“I was curious.”

“And? What’s the verdict?”

“Hmm… it’s not bad but it could be better.” Corners of Tessa’s mouth rise a bit in a teasing smile.

“Was I way too bossy?”

“You were.”

“I’m sorry. I’m used to giving orders and I expect them to be followed.”

“I’m the same.”

Nathan’s eyes sparkle. “I’m afraid I won't let you boss me.”

“Did I ask for your permission?” Tessa says calmly, her eyes fixing him on the spot.

“No, seriously, I think I’m not ready for something like this.” Nathan says and his voice is much more nervous than before.

Tessa shrugs her shoulders. “Text me when you are ready, then.” She stands up.

“What? Wait! You’re leaving? What about your ice-cream?”

“You can have it. It’s the only dessert you’re gonna enjoy tonight anyway.” Tessa breezes over her shoulder walking away, aware of his piercing eyes following her every move and sway of her hips.

You walked out of the estate and into the courtyard where everyone else was. You stood beside the Kamaboko trio as Zenitsu and Tanjiro were talking, as well as Inosuke of course was running around asking some of the Hashira to fight him. Soon enough your gaze fell over to Inosuke’s behavior and you were giggling at the sight.

Zenitsu noticed how Inosuke was taking up your attention. Zen of course wanted your attention WAY more than the other two. And so he wanted to get his way. He came up to you with blush all across his face as he immediately clung onto your uniform. You were surprised by his action and it made you look at him.

You gave him a little chuckle.

“What are you doing?”

He continued to his little plan.

“Y/N CHAAAAAN!”

He sung with his heart and soul.

“Y/N CHAAAAN, SO GORGEOUS/HANDSOME!”

He sang once more. You got his hands in yours and detached him from you.

“Ok ok! What is it?”

You asked him as he gasped how you were holding both his hands in yours. He started blushing even more.

“Y/N LOOK! Your holding my hands! How does that make you feel huh? huh?”

You rolled your eyes at his teasing and let go of his hands all together. His expression changed a little but he quickly got over it.

“You know Y/n I think you look really cute/handsome in that uniform of yours.”

He said as he came closer to your face. His warm and hot breath brushed up against your collar bones. His actions began to make your stomach twist and turn. You hadn’t felt the warmth of your cheeks grow as well as a light blush. You didn’t really pay attention to Zenitsu all that much before cause he flirted with everyone and anyone he came across. But with you it was a little different.

“You seem different than usual, are you ok?”

You asked him as you tried to step a little further back from him you ended up almost falling, that was until Zen caught you in his arms and held your hands with a grip to keep you from hitting the ground.

“Are you alright?”

He asked as he moved his face closer to yours, for some reason he seems bolder than he was before. At this point you can barely form a sentence.

“O-ooh, yeah. Thanks.”

You said as he lifted you back up onto the ground. He then hugged your waist and was almost back to his normal self.

“Geez your so sweet! And gosh so pretty/handsome too!”

Your arms moved a little up as he kept his grip around your waist. Zenitsu’s face turned to see Tanjiro.

“Isn’t she just the most cutest thing on earth?! My heart can barely take it anymore!”

And with that said you couldn’t help but pull him up and kiss his cheek. His whole entire body turned red as he jumped into the air rambling things about how he loves you so much and so on. He then came down ack to earth from heaven and looked at you dead in the eyes and said-

“Can I have another one on this cheek too?”

You felt so light on your feet as you leaned into his other cheek to place another kiss on him. You then began to speed walk away from the scene.

“B-bye!”

Yeah a little awkward but he found it adorable.

Zenitsu then leaned against Tanjiro.

“She wants me.”

He said with confidence. Tanjiro couldn’t help but giggle at the scene.

It's completely possible for Gabriel to get aggressive during it, just throwing sticks and rocks at Evangeline when she turns her back. Only to get body slammed into the dirt floor when he least expects it.

Gabriel's nest would be large and have multiple trinkets in it, proudly showing it off

Evangeline's would be smaller but very comfy, perfect for chicks

Just be careful not to let them see you, because world war lll would happen if they get their little claws on you. Your clothes would get ripped during the ordeal

B4 I continue posting art of them I think I need to explain my whole thought process……so here’s some (not all) reasons why I think Pagan and Antón should and would kiss sloppy style 😊

-They share a lot of similarities! Most obvious being their jobs as ermm terrible dictators but more importantly their shared ‘guerilla forces ripping apart the country’ situations 🐡I think they would meet first in a purely diplomatic fashion ofc, to trade weapons and/or money in order to deal with their own respective resistances. This would also mean they have tons of preexisting respect and even understanding for each other, and also bonding over a mutual burning hatred of anarchists is a funny way to get close to somebody lawl. Also I know it would b out of character for Pagan to quit his hermetic lifestyle out of the blue to go visit some guy in the Caribbean but idrc I’m just trying to have fun :)

-Another similarity they have is their relationship to fatherhood and problems regarding it. While Antón never really wanted to be a father or have Diego and wouldn’t have if not for his cancer, Pagan DID want to be a father, but lost the only real chance he’d ever have at it, so I think upon meeting Diego he’d exploit it as a chance to be the father he never got the opportunity to be. I think they’d look to each other for advice; Pagan on how to be a good mentor for Ajay, and Antón on how to be a better and kinder person to Diego. Also I find the concept of Pagan being an estranged mom-type figure to Diego (without him fully understanding the extent of his relationship to his papá) very fun

-They have contrasting personalities :3 Pagan has a very charismatic, energetic, fun and self-absorbed personality while Antón is more cool, collected and down-to-earth and I think they’d get along nice and compliment each other well……opposites attract and what not and I think they would have an interesting dynamic

-I also think their age difference would play a part in them liking each other; Pagan trying to keep him up-to-date w current shit, explaining to him what Twitter is, showing him memes or whatever, while Antón would get to live vicariously through Pagan

-Theyd b into each other technically speaking….Antón has a lot of class and poise and we know that’s important to Pagan..also his type quite obviously includes men (and besides who wouldn’t be into giancarlo esposito), but regarding Antón, a lot of the properties found in the only person we know hes canonically been involved with romantically (Maria Marquessa) are also found in Pagan; charisma/big personality, work in publicity and media, their slightly manipulative tendencies, even down to their similar appearance. Ik this is like likening a filet mignon (Pagan) to Spam (Maria) but it’s for my point okay

-Speaking of Maria, one of the primary reasons her and Antón fell apart (according to the fc6 audiobook (listen to it pls and ty)) was differences regarding his ambitions and drive to become President. With Pagan these misunderstandings would be nonexistent as, once again, they have similair life experiences and an understanding of what it takes to do what they do

-I think they wld take good care of each other 👍Antón def needs someone to look after him as his cancer is slowly killing him which I think Pagan would do gladly. Besides the whole murdering people thing he’s a v caring person towards the ppl he loves. Pagan also needs someone to bring him out of his shell and show him he can love again which I think Antón could do. Once again in the fc6 audiobook Diego mentions that Antón gets uncharacteristically warm around the people he loves so imo it’s not too far fetched

-Final definitive reason: I like old evil man yaoi 👍and they should kill ppl together thats hot..thanks for reading like and subscribe 4 more
