Widget never experienced grief before Heart of thorns, so when her and her best friends mentors, Myxxi and Zojja, were nearly killed and became comatose she wasn't sure what to do with herself, so she looked to Spite, a person she knew was strong and well, Spite always knew what to do, she never didn't have a plan. So, when Widget saw them wallowing in her grief, becoming withdrawn and isolating herself, she unknowingly followed in Spite's footsteps and did that herself

Her kidnapping.

At some point in LWS4 Widget's mother, Kuda, became aware of her existence and well, nabbed her up. Now she was never harmed by Kuda, but the other did without Kuda's knowledge and the entire experience itself was traumatizing.

lilac: what was your muse’s childhood like ? how has their upbringing affected them as they’ve aged?

Throughout Widget's childhood she was underestimated, pushed aside, and forced to fight for herself by all but her Progenitor, Taimi, Gorrik and Blish, Zojja and Myxxi. Although this taught her to fight for herself and to not let anyone or thing stand in her way of what she knows she can do, this also sadly taught her to not communicate when she needs to the most.

After all, a practically blind prodigy progeny would have been eaten alive in Rata Sum if she couldn't hold her own.

southernwood: how seriously does your muse take themself ? do they prefer a solemn & intellectual atmosphere or do they delight in jokes & banter?

Widget LOVES a loud and joking atmosphere, and like Myxxi taught her, she almost prefers for people to underestimate her, it's much easier for her to be left alone and forgotten so she can do what she needs to

I WANT to continue Winged. I have some plotlines I want to explore still, some loose ends that need tying. I never got into Dream’s side of things, or really dug into Ink and Nightmares relationship, and more importantly, the whole ass thing with Classic’s world and Nightmare’s interest in it. I have plans! I want those plans to be fleshed out and shared!

I just don’t have the motivation for it right now?? It’s really hard for me to write in general, for the fandom I’m head over heels for at the moment, so trying to even think about writing for a fandom I’m still fond of, but not as involved in anymore? It’s a lot. I gotta lot going on as is and I’m trying to juggle it as best I can.

Honestly, specifically with Winged, I’m kinda at the point that you could just ask me what I planned to do with a plot line and I’d probably just tell you lmfaoooo. I want people to know! I just don’t know when/if I’ll get around to writing it out officially. ;-;

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

WOW SO i was going to say "significance because i fell down the stairs while writing it, had to take a break to recover from a minor head injury, came back to its weeks (months?) later, and somehow still finished it despite being Real Bad at continuing things i take a break from so am very proud of myself for that" HOWEVER i looked and realized i finished it in 2022?? so i guess that's out for this year's wrapped and woag time sure does fly lol

i feel like the next obvious answer is pride, my ichisama tokyo ghoul fusion, but i don't want to pick it just because it's long. i did enjoy writing it and am more or less happy(ish) with how it came out, though i think a lot of my pride in it (no pun intended) does come from the fact that it was longer than what i usually manage to finish

ANYWAY... i actually think i'm going to go with stay gold! my one and only revenger fic lol

i wrote it in a fit of disappointment over the show's actual ending, but wound up actually really liking it... i think? (still feels difficult to say this about my own writing but i am! practicing!! the self-esteem thing!!!)

there are a bunch of details i managed to include that just make me happy (like the... name thing which i will probably make a separate post about in a minute here because OHMYGOD i want to talk about it again SO BAD and this is as good an excuse as any)

tragically in recent years i have become the type that needs silence to write, i am just Bad at concentrating with music on even though i would love to listen to something when i write orz

so the answer is currently i listen to nothing while writing, but since that is a very uninteresting answer, i will say that in the past i did listen to godspeed you! black emperor quite a lot for background noise during writing sessions!

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

IT'S GOTTA BE [REDACTED] AU BUT I CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT YET FOR FEAR OF SCARING IT AWAY LOL the biggest surprise part is how like... 15k of it came spilling out in, what, like 3 days or so?

alas i have stalled on it since then, but i still am very attached to the idea of it i think... so hopefully i will be able to get it done at some point! it is going to be one of those strange niche aus that appeals probably only to me BUT i'm surprisingly in love with the idea and hope to get going on it again soon

Once on autopilot, you better pray he hasn’t forgotten your locks of hair within his hands, you feel a sharp tug, better start screaming before it pierces you harder-

Overall he is quite gentle [he tries to be at least]

His go-to, braids [obviously-] and buns, messy or neat as shit

If you have shorter hair, he uses gel or hairspray to keep the loose strands in place, maybe a braid or two on the sides if its long enough to be tied

Knows a lot about hair products being one that takes care of his hair very religiously [he rather be caught dead then have a bad hair day]

Your little encyclopedia, from most brands to the most efficient way to blow dry hair, he knows it all

But don’t expect this man to dye or even hell trim your hair for you, unless you want to look like a puffy cotton ball, it’s best to leave the styling to him [tried it once, regretted fully, Rindou was laughing his ass off when he saw the monstrosity that was Ran’s hair the next day]

Has the same problem as his brother, mans grip strength is like of ten men combined, but unlike his brother, he’s a bit of a kluz when it comes to controlling his strength, while Ran can maintain the pressure he puts out, Rindou struggles a little [being so used to snapping ribs and bones, it naturally flows within him]

Thank Heavens he can’t tie hair for the life of him, he mostly trims and cuts with dyeing on the side too [He bleached and dyed his own hair and Ran’s]

Through practice with his hair and maybe Ran’s too [he was slightly still pissed at Rin for chopping his hair off that one time] he is now a natural hairstylist [his current style was once a absolute failure of his that he managed to pull back the last second]

Has a good eye for colour from dyeing his hair [his hair has a rougher texture than of what Ran’s hair would feel like, smooth and glossy, mostly due to him bleaching and ruining his hair in the process]

Handling a blow dryer, scissors, a comb is like second nature to him, every movement is precise yet swift, he literally can trim perfect bangs within minutes

Despite him not being much for hair tying, he still can warp up simple messy buns and loose ponytails [and of course Ran teases him for it, ‘cause he’s the one that ties his hair the most often]

also oh boy i am so sorry but i cannot answer this with something short and simple my brain is GOING and i really had to think abt this bc it’s so hard to pick a favorite, but i think if i had to pick one of the most endearing and heartbreaking things about him that always gets to me is how deeply he feels, yet how hard he tries to deny it and pretend he doesn’t feel anything at all. i’ll try not to ramble too much bc this does not need to be an essay LMAO but he’s hurting so much inside and has never known how to relieve it (in a healthy way at least), and it makes him so complex and fascinating!! while he may have experience in shoving down those bad feelings and acting fine, he hasn’t ever really had the chance to learn how to hide good feelings. i like to imagine that when he’s so incredibly happy or excited, he can’t hide his smile or the way his eyes light up in response. he would no doubt be so embarrassed and frustrated with himself because he’s never had a problem keeping up with his whole “emotionless puppet” shtick, so why now when the tips of his ears are pink and his lips are twitching against a grin is he struggling so much? he hasn’t felt these sorts of positive things since before his first betrayal, so of course he’d have no idea how to numb himself to them, hence his habit of hiding his face with his hat lol. cutie.

What person impacted them the most?

The person who impacted her the most, at least in a bad way, would be Vorrp. Due to the experiments done on her, she (mostly) left behind becoming an engineer to focus more on stealth. She still can't be near Asura too well. (It took her a lot of time to be near Taimi and Gorrik.)

They're now a heart NPC/part of a string of quests. What does that involve?

Hmm, I can see an au where Tanwyn would have stayed with the Soundless instead of leaving to meet with Ceara after she was kick out of Rata Sum involving this. It would start out her asking for your help, explaining that she comes from a hidden village of the soundless. Only they truly know where their village is, and they are being raided by the Nightmare Court every night. She asks you to help her defend the village and help repair it. After that, she realizes that the best way to discover how they are finding them is to infiltrate the court. Whenever you meet up there, she gives you a disguise and you help her ask questions and gather some secrets (kinda like the winter palace in DAI). Eventually, you and her find a Courier that had been posing as a villager. Togetther you kill the Courier, and are forced to fight the rest of the nightmare court that was present.

How willing are they to bend/break the rules for their cause (be it selfless or otherwise)?

Extremely. The only rule she refuses to break is torturing someone. If it would help her, or would be for the greater good, shes willing to do anything.

What's an au for them you think could be fun to explore?

oooo I think a Nightmare Court AU would be fun. One where instead of turning away from pain, she leaned into it and accedently fell to the court could be fun!

Ayy! Part 2

Whumper happily hummed to themselves, turning up the soft music on the radio. They drove down the empty highway, the gleaming sun just setting in the distance. “That was a lovely day, don’t you agree?” Whumper cheerfully spoke, they looked in the mirror to make eye contact with Whumpee in the back seat, who was bound and gagged, glaring at them. They responded with a muffled grunt.

“Oh! Right... I forgot about that. Sorry.” Whumper giggled, shrugging. “Man, you really are lucky! I’m so glad I was able to snag you up so easily. I’m going to take such good care of you, don’t worry!” They smiled at them. Whumpee was desperately trying to slip their wrists from the bindings behind their back. To their surprise, they managed to pop a wrist out. They froze in shock, thinking it was way too good to be true. 

They looked out the window, they were speeding down the highway, they had got the bindings off, but they were still stuck in here. Frustration and adrenaline spiked though their body, would the highway be worse to them then Whumper if they stayed? Their options swarmed in their head, if they didn’t do something now, they most likely would never get this chance again.

“Woah!” Whumper yelled, slamming on the breaks as a deer bolted in front of them, the whole car came to a screeching stop. Whumper let out a quick breath, glancing back. “Hey! You alright back there?” They called. Whumpee just stared at them wide eyed through the mirror, before busting the door open and taking off. 

“Hey, wait! When did... How did you-?!” Whumper leaped out of the car before finishing their sentence, quickly realizing Whumpee really wasn’t going to hang around to listen. 

Get off the road... Just get off the road. Whumpee thought to themselves, even though the road was their best option at running into a car for rescue, but Whumper had a car too... They leapt over the metal rail blocking a rather steep hill. In their panic, they lost footing, collapsing the whole way down the hill. They heard an ear-cringing *crack* when they hit the bottom of the hill, but the adrenaline screamed at them to ignore it and keep running. 

They could hear Whumper desperately calling for them not far as they bolted as fast as they could. They ran out of breath quickly, crouching down behind a large tree. They felt something running down their leg, they couldn’t see very well, but they could make out something sticking out of their leg. Whumpee froze, hoping it was just a trick of the light, as they gently touched it.

There was a long sharp stick completely impaling their leg, blood dripping down into the leaves under them. “Ohhh no no no no no....” Whumpee muttered to themselves, quickly covered their mouth. What now? What if Whumper finds them? Could they even run? The adrenaline would soon wear off, with pain following.

“Now what do we have here?” They heard a voice above them.

“Wait! Please! Don’t!” Whumpee screamed from shock. They tried to slink away, but the pain finally shot through their leg, as they cried out, biting down on their sleeve. Whumper dropped down to a crouch, pulling out their phone flashlight to access the damage. 

“Ouch...” Whumper hissed through their teeth sympathetically, taking their jacket off and tying it around their leg tightly. Whumpee didn’t even try to fight back, their leg hurt so badly they would take any of help, even from them. 

Whumper couldn’t help but to let off a smug smirk. “What did we learn?” They asked, a slight musical tone in their voice. Whumpee exhaled with annoyance, they weren’t going to say it, they weren’t going to give them the satisfaction. Whumper cleared their throat, nudging their shoulder. Whumpee sighed, before muttering “No running...” 

“Good Whumpee!” They cheered, like rewarding a puppy doing a trick for the first time. “Come on now, up we go.” They huffed, gently wrapping their arms around their back and knees, lifting them bridal style back to the car. Whumpee only clung to their neck, letting off quiet sobbing whimpers. 

Whumper opened the trunk of the car, laying Whumpee inside who let out a panicked holler. “No no! It’s okay, I’m not leaving you in here.” They soothed, digging behind them in the trunk. “See? The medical supplies are back here.” They said, holding a first aid kit in front of them to prove it. “ Just hold still for me.” They said, getting to work on their leg. 

“Deep breath.” Whumper commanded, taking a hold of the stick. As soon as Whumpee took a deep breath in, Whumper ripped the stick from their leg, immediately pressing a cloth against it tightly. Whumpee cried out in pain, instinctively grabbing Whumper’s wrist for relief. Pain pulsed through their body, they could feel the cloth soaking up their blood as their body laid in shock. 

Whumper secured the cloth to their leg with a tight thick bandage, before wiping the sweat from their brow. “You did good, just hang in there, we’ll get it properly fixed up when we get home.” Whumper cooed at them, lifting them back in their arms. Whumpee grunted as they were set back in their seat, they were hoping to be spared the ropes this time, but Whumper had other ideas. 

Their wrists were tightly secured to the handle on the upper wall, their seatbelt strapped over their chest tightly, locking into place, the second belt beside them were used to bind their legs together resting up on the seat. They were at least spared the gag this round, as Whumper returned to the drivers seat before giving them a pat on the cheek. 

“Lets try this again!” They cheered, starting the car.

• she'z a fan of max ! her outfit is basically inspired by hers .

• she has a phd in biology . she met rosa during a class of agriculture she took in curiosity, and afterwardz, they became lab partnerz!

• she and rosa created sprout using both of their knowledge . but spike was their first creation, but they failed to make it speak .

• she has a stim where she flapz her armz like a winged creature . she also tendz to squeak or squeal when someone good is happening .

• besidez beez, she'z a lover of catz. she ownz two catz named honey and pollen . that'z why she has a costume/skin of her in a cat suit .

• she ownz a big lab with rosa near her beehivez . her section is mostly used for testing plant creationz that could be her sidekick and fix her superhero suit .

• she is an upcoming superhero . she'z not in max'z crew, cause she'z not running off of energy drinkz . she decided to be solo over failed sidekickz .

• so mega beetle bea ? well, it was a long story . all i could say was that she was upset with her progress and made a seperate suit inspired by a beetle she found . she became evil for a day, before being convinced by max that she'z great .

• she grew up in a family of animatorz . she loved to draw, but she knew she wanted to do something else when she was older . but either way, she asked for a cartoon costume, just so she could at least make her parentz happy .

• in her backpack, she has one of the beehivez . everytime she shootz from her blaster, she releasez a bee .

• she has namez for all the beez she takez care of . some are called like bob or david, but her favorite ones are named after her friendz .
