quick update on art moving forward:

i'm gonna be switching back and forth between doing more original work/non-mlp content and gg20s art from now on. things may go slower, but that's part of me trying to take care of myself vs. the past couple of months which has been "i need to finish and post at least 2 gg20s artworks every week or i'll die." i still need to finish that utena juri illustration, and i have a neat character design exercise i wanna do on designing 90s high fantasy anime characters.

for full transparency, here are some things i have lined up for gg20s (on my end at least, tulli's still going strong): character designs for nyc characters (coco pommel, coloratura, suri polomare), the disney opening sequence video, more rarijack (obviously), including that one-shot fanfiction, and a daring do comic.

I was wondering if you could write for William. This is a super crazy scenario. Too crazy. Imagine a ghost reader who is able to take a physical form at will and She usually enjoys hanging around and observing inside the pizzeria, annoying William. She is always there, bothering. Then one day the reader simply does too much and it all ends in a chase. Where the reader flees from a furious William, taking advantage of the fact that she can become a ghost at will to flee around the pizzeria.

She makes a mistake and in an attempt to hide she goes into a closet. Guess who's there :) (Could it be spicy too?)

A/N: TY as always for the ask! I’ve never written anything with supernatural elements but it's always nice to go outside of my comfort zone ;) Definitely going to write more of the predator/prey dynamic with him…

“You can,” you hummed. “You’ll never catch me,”

Being a ghost had its perks, and for one your favourite was annoying a man you’d come to know as William Afton. He was some kind of inventor, as he spent the late hours of the evening into the night tinkering and reminiscing in what you assumed to be his pizzeria, even walking around in a worn out yellow rabbit costume. You thought it was rather weird, but you didn’t have a right to argue, given the circumstances. 

The beauty of it all was that you weren’t confined to your ghost form. More often than not, you spent your days with the rest of human society; working, eating, sleeping - the lot - but you particularly enjoyed shape shifting around William. On the surface he’d seemed like a nice guy, but you’d come to find out that he’d had a chequered past - including an estranged daughter, a dramatic move across state lines and a name change. You weren’t stupid; he was clearly some sort of criminal…You just didn’t know to what nature.

Still, he was rather an interesting guy, if not quite attractive also. It started off with the little things; pestering him ‘if he was done yet’, to moving his equipment to completely different parts of the pizzeria. Every time you did, you were met with deliciously frustrating grunts, sighs and even curses. You were 90% sure he hated you, and yet he never truly shut you out. 

What you didn’t know was that he was secretly enjoying the chase – Sometimes he’d ogle you in human form, and then the next you were gone, quite literally sending chills up his spine whether it be from your touch or whisper. It drove him crazy, and today he decided that he was going to put an end to it. You’d continuously blown in his ear, messed up his blueprints, and even ran your fingers along the material of his belt — You were so royally fucked.

You’d shifted into your human form before you began to run away, making sure that William could see you, getting a glimpse of the way your body moved under the dull, yet enticing lights of the pizzeria before you vanished completely. The man seemed furious, his eyes darkened and a frazzled strand of his hair clinging to his forehead, but what terrified (or turned you on) the most was the fact that he didn’t run - no, he was deliberate and methodical in his movements, stalking down the halls like an apex predator.

“You know better than to try and fool me…” he teased, eyes darting around like a maniac. “I’ll always find you...” he snarled, and your heart pounded in your chest as you watched him walk up and down the hallways, his footsteps like an omen as they followed after you. The effect he had on you was unfathomable, even if you technically had control of the situation. You could’ve upped and left the building entirely, but you didn’t – You wanted him to catch you.

All of a sudden it went silent, and you figured that you’d lost him. Shifting into your human form, you quickly darted into the store closet in the hallway, hoping to jump out and give the man a good-old fashioned scare. It was dark, and even though the absence of light rarely bothered you, you wondered how long it would be before he would come looking for you. What if he didn’t? What if he left, and you were to be stuck in this cold, dingy pizzeria overnight?

Huffing, you fumbled around in the dark, trying desperately to search for a light. Your hand felt along a brush, some bottles of bleach and window cleaner, and, eventually, a beard. 

Gasping, you felt yourself about to shift, but William stopped you, grabbing your arms and holding them above your head so that you couldn’t move.

“I found you…” he chuckled, and you could envision his smile; teeth bared like a wolf. “Couldn’t get away from me, hm?”

You writhed under his touch, trying to shift your body so that you were at least in a comfortable position, but this only rubbed your privates against the man’s crotch, his bulge prominent amongst your respective layers of clothing. 

“Will –” you whispered as his lips found your neck. “At least let me see you…”

“Nuh-uh, sweetheart,” he growled against your neck. “You made your bed, you’re going to lie in it…”

Eventually, he let go of your hands and you immediately found his body, clinging your arms around his neck and back as he lifted you up, stumbling slightly as he managed to find the wall, pressing you against it. He thrust his pelvis against your own as you engaged in a sloppy makeout session, his beard tickling your hot skin.

“You’re a little tease, you know that?” he said as one hand found his belt, fumbling with the buckle and zipper. “A girl like you should never have such power…”

You moaned in agreement as you began to slide off your own bottoms, getting as far as the material pooling around your calves. William wasted no time in thrusting into you, your arms desperately trying to find something to hold onto as he stabilised himself on the wall. You found a floor to ceiling pipe, hands practically going numb from the way you gripped the copper. His strokes were targeted, as if he were going out of his way to stab you. It only resulted in sheer pleasure, with your walls taking him in further with every movement, which earned a deep groan from the man, who was dotting hickies along your neck and collarbone.

“Listen to yourself…” he contemplated, his voice laboured, and you presumed he was getting close. “Sometimes I forget you’re nothing but a needy, human slut,”

Of course he wasn’t wrong. You were glad that whatever happened to you in a past life had led to you having indulgent sex with a (likely) criminal, legs spread and pussy aching. You were so invested in your own pleasure that you didn’t have the energy to shift into ghost form and tease him.

William came first, biting down on your neck as he spilled into you, practically crushing you with his large body against the wall. You ran your fingers through his hair as he rode off his high, using your hips to get yourself off, and to drain him for what he had left, causing the man to groan. He squeezed his eyes shut, enjoying the way you fucked yourself on his cock, but as he felt you clamp down he withdrew his hips, pulling out of you entirely and leaving you completely empty.

Smoothly, he switched the light on, and you looked up at him with a frustrated expression that screamed ‘What the fuck?’

He smirked as he tucked himself back into his trousers.

“How’s it feel to be the tease now?”

it was mid July, on one of the rare days where Wabang was hot, but surprisingly not unbearable. it had gotten up to about the mid 80s. which was still considerably hot, but not as torturous as it reaching up into the high 90s & dipping into the 100s. you were finishing up your shift at the local diner across town & were anticipating your bf coming to pick you up after your shift.

Rhett had done his fair share of work around the ranch all day and tending to the animals. he was beat & needed a way to cool off. he figured after he picked you up, he would take you out to this creek that was just on the outskirts of town, in a pretty private woodsy area. it had been a while since he’d last been to it. he hadn’t gone since before he met you. During past family get togethers that Rhett was forced to attend against his will, he would sometimes sneak off & go to the creek to clear his head or even take a dip to escape the scorching heat of summer. Rhett thought it would be fun to take you, as you loved going on adventures & going to new places with him.

the time had finally reached five & you were officially off the clock. you removed your apron & grabbed your bag from its place in the cubby. you bid your coworker a goodbye & went into the staff bathroom to quickly check yourself in the mirror. your hair was frizzy as expected from the humidity & was coming out of the hairstyle you had put it up into to stay cool. you decided to take it down, leaving it laying freely onto your shoulders. your makeup held up fairly well during the course of the day, besides the little bit of fallout from the minimal mascara you had on. you gently wiped under your eyes & adjusted your top. after you were pleased with yourself you hurried out of the bathroom, punched out & headed towards the front of the building, where you were met with Rhett in his truck patiently waiting for you.

you opened the truck door to find him smirking at you. before you could even properly greet him he beat you to it,

“hop on in sweetheart. i’m takin you somewhere.” he spoke with that damn southern drawl that drove you absolutely insane every time you’d hear it.

“well hello to you too.” you playfully snarked back & he let out a light chuckle. you hoped into your seat & buckled up. you weren’t sure if you should’ve asked where he planned on taking you two. you liked that element of surprise & Rhett was always full of them. so instead you just let him drive & take you to your destination. he placed a hand onto your thigh, gently squeezing there & just enjoying the ride. with the windows down, the smell of the fresh summer air, & the sound of music playing on the radio, you headed off.

roughly about 20 minutes later, you arrived at a woodsy area, surrounded by tall trees & slightly unkempt grass. Rhett pulled up onto the land with ease & stopped the truck.

“uh Rhett.. where exactly are we?” you questioned, your voice laced with confusion. you tried to make out what you were looking at through the window from your seat in the truck, but all you could see were lines of trees that surely went on for miles. Rhett didn’t answer you however. instead he turned off the car & hopped out of the truck. he headed over to your side & opened your door. you cautiously stepped out, Rhett immediately grabbing a hold of your hand with his & clasping them together. after a few seconds, he finally spoke up. a bit of excitement evident in his voice,

“i have something to show ya. do ya trust me?” he playfully quipped, which earned him a light slap to his chest & he pretended to be hurt by it. holding onto his chest in a dramatic state.

you couldn’t stop the giggles from leaving your lips,

“i do trust you! are you giving me a reason not to? where in the hell are we Rhett Abbott?!” you slightly raised your voice, but with a hint of laughter still lingering. he was leading you into the woodsy area now & still holding your hand in his. you had to admit it was quite beautiful & sort of peaceful. there were sounds of birds chirping & the rustling of the leaves on the trees. you didn’t need to step in much further, immediately noticing a body of water in its wake. Rhett quickly let go of your hand & ran over to it. you following suit.

as you approached closer to the water, you noticed Rhett starting to strip out of his clothes. only leaving him in his black boxer briefs, with his bull pec tattoo on full display for you to admire. but the next thing you knew, Rhett was in the water. he had only gotten halfway in before he was coaxing you to join him.

“come on in darlin,’ the waters fine.” he spoke, causing you to shake your head & playfully roll your eyes at him.

he had treaded further in now & even went as far as to stick his head under the water. fulling submerging himself. you couldn’t quite grasp what was happening & you weren’t too sure if you necessarily wanted to partake in this. the water didn’t look too bad, but you were slightly afraid of the idea of someone catching the two of you. Rhett’s voice broke you out of your thoughts, practically begging you to come in, making it clear that he wouldn’t hesitate to pick you up over his shoulder & drag you in if it came to.

Rhett was someone who liked to live on the edge at times. he tried not to take life too seriously. since after meeting you, a different side of him came to light & he felt more excited about life. he felt like it was more worth living for, once you stepped into the picture. looking at that dopey smile on his face & his pleading eyes boring into you was all you needed to see before you stripped off your clothes, leaving you in just your bra & panties. you let out a “Fuck it” & headed for Rhett. he let out a loud whooo, cheering you on from his place in the creek. you finally reached him & he didn’t hesitate to lift you up into his arms.

he spun you around, an endless fit of giggles left you & you were feeling so alive in this moment. he placed you back down into the water & drew you in for a kiss. your lips melted together & your hands wrapped around each other. the kiss wasn’t super heated by any means, but it was indeed passionate. once you both needed air, you parted. Rhett looked absolutely lovesick & you were sure you did too. he gently brushed a strand of hair that fell in front of your face, then placed a light kiss on to your nose which caused your cheeks to heat up & your nose scrunched up. he pulled back & before you knew it, Rhett had dipped you under the water. his laugh loudly echoing throughout the woods. you quickly came up for air & lunged straight at him.

“oh you’re are so in for it now Rhett Abbott!” you playfully exclaimed. the rest of the evening consisted of you two messing around in the water & exchanging loving kisses.

My top 5 albums of 2023 that I want everyone to listen to, tentatively (since there's a LOT, lol), and I know I've already talked high praise of many of these lol, are...

Lead Into Gold -- The Eternal Present. I've gushed endlessly about this album, but my adoration for it cannot be understated. Paul Barker outdid himself; he's been responsible for and/or involved in some of my favorite projects of all time long before now, but admittedly it was this album that really made me reevaluate how much I've almost taken for granted his artistry. It is such a lovely, uniform piece of art from beginning to end, I could go on and on about how excited I am by the composition, but I'll just leave it at: It is an AMAZING piece of modern electroindustrial from one of the legends of the genre and it is worth a listen. Song recommendation: "The Final Blows."

IAMX -- Fault Lines1. IAMX has been one of my favorite artists since, like, 9th grade, but this is another case of IMO an artist completely outdoing themselves. Chris is an amazing musician but Fault Lines takes things up a notch IMO with a whole new level of heaviness and intensity, experimentation, masterful modular synth work, vocal expertise, and the dark, sensual theatricality he's so iconic for. I seriously think this album potentially ushers in a whole new era for him, it's PHENOMENAL and I think everybody should check it out. It's technically an EP, so it only takes like 30 minutes to get through. Song recommendation: "Disciple."

DIN -- Up. Something more obscure, love for local icons in the LA scene. Greg Vand is the second member of High Functioning Flesh and this is his project with his wife Josie. I love their work and I think "Up" is so delightful; it's got a weird, dreamy, dancey electronic feel that alternates between synthpop and something more techno/house. I really love this release and I really loved getting to be there for the release party, too. Heavily encourage checking it out if you're looking for brand new music from a smaller artist who really deserves the attention. Song recommendation: "Try."

Male Tears -- KRYPT. A culmination of the past year or so of dancefloor hit singles, "Krypt" comes together as this extremely explosive gothic darkwave / alt synthpop / EBM blend that just so successfully captures the Los Angeles dark alt scene right now. I think everyone should listen to this album, it's so strong and so fun and just totally to die for. Song recommendation: "SLEEP 4EVER."

Sextile -- Push. Sorry for being from LA and for loving electronic music, but "Push" was suuuuuch a standout release for me. Unabashed party music, blend of a sort of throwback 90s/2000s sound while still being very fresh and very clearly stemming from the dark electronic scene, I love the amount of genre bending that Sextile did here. Inspiration from EDM and rave / house music, electropunk, classic EBM, trip hop, drum and bass, just such a love letter to doing lots of drugs while dancing with strangers. Song recommendation: "Plastic."

There was SO MUCH good music in 2023 and I feel a little bad not diversifying the genres more here, but what can I say 🤷‍♂️ I love weird electronic music it cannot be helped.

some cool observations I figured out after asking myself what makes a good fanfic

I wanted to randomly talk about how wonderful fanfiction is. Like really. It’s genuinely one of the most wonderful experiences being here has to offer. I’ve been having a really tough time these past few weeks, and the only thing that keeps getting me through a day has been to sit down and read a couple long fics. I’m an avid AO3 reader (don’t you dare suggest any other platform for me for reading, I like the organization okay), which yeah means I don’t read as carefully as the next person but I do read like 90% of the fic so that means something right? Reading a whole 300,000 words a day, while still having time to cook three meals separately, have a two hour tutoring session, and some space to freak out over my AP scores has got to be a superpower.

Anyways, my point is this: fanfiction is fucking amazing. How many ways worlds can come together, how many times characters can fall in love and it doesn’t get boring is just that, fucking amazing. The amount of great material I’ve found has been stellar. And since I’ve had so many hours to waste the past two weeks, my urge for fanfic reading has been consistently there. Which is strange to me because I’ve barely wanted to read, period. Academic, casual, printed, or online for months. But fanfiction is perfectly centered in what I love.

Yet I was thinking how do you make a good fanfic? After all, there’s so much, some of it is just better than the rest. And I figured I’d explore that.

Firstly, there’s the whole charm of fanfiction, since there’s something powerful in having characters you know. I’d like to highlight that it’s entirely possible and true that people can have completely different experiences in the fanfiction world. There’s Y/N and its whole self insert genre, and there’s the whole original characters' situation in universes that are explored within the OG material. Of course there’s a whole sub division of fanfic readers that love it, adore it, write it, and consume it, and who am I to judge? I guess when I say good fanfiction in this post, it’s about how good character based fanfiction works out. Because in my eyes, good fanfiction challenges the framing of a character, and works to develop a tangible change in both internal and external measures. For example, I was reading this two part (not-yet-fully-completed-but-doesn’t-really-end-in-a-cliffhanger-so-it’s-okay-as-someone-that-doesn’t-like-reading-uncomplete-stuff-I-give-the-green-light) Spideypool fic where the ship mainly worked as an empowering device for the story of Peter Parker (spoilers guys, he’s Spider-Man) finding connection, with his boss (it’s Harry Osborn :o), with his fellow superheroes, with his dying aunt, with his new boyfriend, and finally, with himself. The fic works with multiple characters to develop the plot. Good character based fanfiction in this case revolves about the multiple relationships developed between said explored characters. Because characters are fundamentally different from the source material, writing them and giving them needs and actions that feel indebted to the original want of the characters and balancing their choice from said wants is hard. It’s a fine line, tying it all up. Developing something independent from the original material to some extent, from a possibly canon compliant conversation to a whole different universe, and using that independence to further an enrichment of a world or character is necessary. Otherwise, stories bring themselves to a stalemate. Otherwise, stories bring themselves to lack character and connection to the reader. 

Meanwhile, in I Was Screaming Your Name Through The Radio (a musician!au Soukoku fic) works with incredible storytelling design, using a past and present narrative as well as work with the characters' feelings and journeys with the description of music and their lyrics. Good fanfiction, here, uses positively impacting narrative tools to develop a good, tightly done story. In the fic, the development of falling in love, betrayal, heartbreak, and healing are explored. The way the characters connect, disconnect, and reconnect is just amazing. And the way that connection or lack thereof is explored works well with the narrative style of story. Two POVs, each having two time spaces. These POVs worked around the release date of Corruption, the fictional song the two main characters created together in the fic. The interaction between time settings allowed to further explore the characters’ memories and experiences wholly. It was a better choice than to write linearly. Much more entertaining as well. This is good fanfiction, using the narrative to explore and enrich once again the story. 

Finally, there’s the greatest, most important aspect for a good fic. A great story. I wanted to highlight my first auditive fanfic in my life, and the only author I’ve been so unquestionably loyal to since I first heard her story: Mira Miraculous Ladybug Fanfiction on YouTube has forever been feeding me with rich stories, great jokes, and heartbreaking tears. What A Catch works as a creative outlet of all the powerful characters and their archetypes, and applies both a challenging reframe of a character and great narrative control. The story begins with all the main characters of the series as adults, in a wedding, unaware of the twisted memories that Hawkmoth has influenced. The story develops and explores something further than the previous two discussed factors. Before getting to that though, I want to clear up, I love romance fanfiction. It’s what I read 99.9% of the time. But I also enjoy stories that further the relationship not just with internal plot devices. The story of Marinette and Adrien is a long one, especially in the real world when the show’s been airing since 2015. However, there’s a magic in exploring something outside situations while adapting the narrative to continue the story already explored. Developing mayhem, confusion, stakes, as well as creating character growth within the flaws and victories that come with the challenges set in a fanfiction is important. Essential. Otherwise, fanfics turn into retellings, lightly chipping away the power of a story and beginning to re-make something already done. Archetypes are tools to work on choices, wants, and needs of a plot device. Characters breathe and feel with their own choices, wants, and needs along said plot. And stories? They make characters and feelings and experiences simply real.

In conclusion, what makes good fanfiction? In my humble opinion, it brings the following things. As expressed previously, first of all comes the challenging reframing of a character where depth is furthered or a new role is given. Consequently, the character keeps its original charm and familiarity while still developing a growth within the story and itself. Secondly, there’s the usage of palpable narrative control. Using narrative and literary devices to explore a story creates a better execution to the plot and the whole experience of the tale being told. Additionally, I’d like to plug in here that this requires good grammar and developed vocabulary (this doesn’t mean you need to be wordy or overwhelmingly poetic, just enjoyably readable). Thirdly, there’s the banger. The true reason stories can be done over and over again: they’re not being done over and over again. A good fanfic tells something new, explores something better, explains something different. A good fanfic has originality in its fundamental magic. For something to genuinely work as a banger in my book, you have to tell something I haven’t heard before. Something that will capture the reader. You can read a hundred coffee shop AUs, but did all of them make you feel the same, did all of them make you taste the need for more? Probably not. Because some of them will have something more than the fundamental establishment of the AU. Because there’s something new under the surface of the plot. I’ve listed three very different fanfics. One was clearly driven in canon spaces, another in a completely alternative universe, and the final one works after the culmination of the work explored in the original material. Fanfiction is endless, and it’s powerful. People may spit on its masterpieces, but we know its beauty. And it is as dashing as the sun, it is as changing as the ocean, and it is perfectly fitting of the puzzle that we’ve created for our comfort, our mind, and our heart.

i don't have that many fears at awl in general i think but i get so anxious i can't sleep if i have to share a bed w someone i don't like trust aha also i used to be deathly afraid of stingrays as a kid like to the point where vaguely stingray shaped things like. the pool cleaners used to scare me. like id swim in a pool and if i saw this thing

YES the uhh nano/petit/mini bricks/blocks theyre basically mini legos and way cheaper than lego. ive gotten pretty much every aquatic animal from petit bricks theyre sitting on my shelf i love them :') extremely good activity to do when my hands get twitchy

HBOS NEW VELMA SHOW AND THE HATE TOWARDS IT

Ive seen so much hate about the new velma show THAT HASNT EVEN CAME OUT YET. To the point where it seems compelatly unfair. The show hasnt even come out yet i dont feel like its fair for people to be judging so harshly already and getting upset at it.

This is what reboots and remakes of series do. They switch stuff around, they add new things, they change stuff up. And if you want to like movies and tv, you are going to have to suck it up and get used to that. But people are unfairly judging the show without even seeing it yet

I think this series has serious potential. If executed correctly it could be really good. And i am really excited to see the show.

(Altho i am worried about the fact its intended for an adult audience and im worried that based on what ive seen (the leaks with the shower scene) that it will be sexualizing minors, (the scooby gang are litterly minors in 90% of the series' they are in) which seems really creepy to me, hopefully there isnt much of that in it)

And in my personal opinion ive felt disappointed with the quality of the past couple movies (everything after shaggys showdown) because personally i feel like most of those movies were stuffed to the brim with content that was irrelevant to the main plot and had too much going on and was aimed at a much younger audience with a lower attention span.

Whilst the scooby content before (shaggys showdown and everything before that) was aimed towards an audience of the whole family. So the whole family could sit and enjoy.

But seeing as the age raiting is higher for this show im hoping it will be less like that.

Conclusion:

Im have my worries about seeing the show in the fears that it has the chance it could be bad (like any upcoming movie or show could be) but aleast im excited and greatful that we are getting more scooby content and not automatically going "THIS ISNT THE SAME AND I HATE IT." Without actually seeing the show, like many of the 'critics' that ares preading hate about it are doing. Because you have to understand that they have to change and adapt stuff in the film industry every once in a while to keep people entertained and thars how it works. Whiether you like it or not, thats how keeping franchises alive and not going broke works in the film and tv industry. I think this series has potential, and im hoping its good. But if not thats fine, i still intend to be respectful to the all of the creators and people who made this show. And be thankful they are still putting out scooby-doo content.

1- Leviathans do age a bit differently from humans and other mer! they age faster as babies but drastically slow as they almost reach adolescence to prepare for all the growing they're gonna do, I'm gonna say that takes 10 years, then from there they keep steadily growing and aging at a slower pace.

I haven't figured out anything exact yet, but Ranboo is probably in his 90s yeah, and about 18-20 maturity wise. so maybe 4-5 years for 1 leviathan year?

2- It's a one-sided language barrier too so it's extra annoying for Ranboo lol, and even though Tubbo's looking past the history he was taught he hasn't thought of Ranboo as more intelligent than a crow or smart dog yet. He starts to suspect when Ranboo responds so accurately to what he says, but that gets sped up when Tommy slaps Tubbo with 'yeah the leviathan is a person' and helps Ranboo figure out how to actually speak english.

3- there is some magic! I haven't thought it out fully but suggestions are open. And that story of leviathan origins is actually exclusive to mers, humans have no idea, they just think leviathans are a case of deep-sea gigantism of a less evolved species of mer. No magic with language barriers for Ranboo bc I have more fun that way but it gives me an idea!

-I'm gonna give some merfolk/leviathans the ability to bond with another person that forms a mental link of sorts, a way to easily communicate over distance and sense if there's trouble. Ranboo and Tubbo don't have this but maybe some day.

-The little sprite guys can be magical too. say, if enough of them are gathered around a mer that mer can be transformed into a leviathan. I like that. it'd be more complicated but it's a start :)

4- Tommyyyy, Tommy my boy, he has it rough! He's a mer that got fished up and put in a tank a few years ago. He's seen the sights, been on display, made some friends, lost 'em, he's got stories man. Eventually was bought by some guys who figured they can gain infinite scales to get rich off of as long as they keep him alive.

They stop in Tubbo's town for business, everyone knows seaside towns are a hotspot for scale buyers. Tubbo catches on that there's a live mer being held captive and well, people know mers are sapient, scale buying is dying out with newer generations, so since he has a chance to do something about it this time he breaks Tommy out and carts him off to Ranboo for help, bc where else could he go?

Tommy really fixes the communication problem here, MVP. Turns out Ranboo couldn't speak english because they usually practiced underwater and not enough above water to actually figure out how to use their vocal cords the right way, and of course Tommy knows, so he helps Ranboo and Ranboo re-familiarizes him with merfolk language in return. :D It's a silly mistake but tbf to Ranboo they try not to breach the surface if they can help it bc of old fear of hunters.

5- I do!! Wilbur, Techno, Kristin, Philza, Michael, and Puffy so far!

Wilbur is a human, he busts mer poachers. he mistakes Tubbo for one at first bc he was following Tommy's trail and learned he was taken from the guys. Nearly passes out when meeting Ranboo.

Techno is a mer! Very standoffish to humans, but tolerates Tubbo bc Tommy vouched for him. He's just traveling and looking for humans to mess up.

Kristin is a leviathan and Philza is her mer husband :], they're friends of Techno! Phil and Techno have that magic mental link so they can keep in touch despite long distances. Techno kinda calls them over after meeting benchtrio.

Michael is a leviathan, just a little baby guy Ranboo finds after meeting Techno but before meeting Kristin and Phil. No one knows where his parents are, presumably they're gone by more natural causes. Ranboo adopts immediately.

Puffy is a human! I haven't figured out a lot of her role yet besides being a sailor that Tubbo talks to. Maybe a neighbor or guardian? Someone to notice how much Tubbo stays out at the beach.

6- which leads to this I guess :D So besides Wilbur, I haven't planned who find out very well. Someone else def will find out though. Tubbo has kinda been documenting what he learns about leviathans, so one day he can try and change people's minds about them.

And I have this little spinoff idea where Tubbo makes internet posts and videos with Ranboo or the other mers, so either they do the reveal themselves and cause shenanigans, or get found out and have some drama before the shenanigans. ^_^ The first one would give Tubbo more anonymity, but the latter would make people believe him quicker.

current obsession:

i have been working for like a month on english translyrics for eimin no susume by narumiya. this isnt my first attempt at writing translyrics (i have tried so many times to write translyrics for itte by yorushika but i think that song's just impossible to translate well in general) but it is the first time ive gotten anywhere close to finishing them... im not as mindblowingly depressed as i was a few weeks ago so im not actually sure i'll still want to cover the song by the time i finish these lyrics but i wanna see it through to the end! and its a fun song to sing anyhow (speaking of covers ive been sitting on this 90% complete cover for a while that i just need to finish recording harmonies on..... maybe i'll go do that after i post this)

Explain the lore of a random animation

I don't know if this is for anything in particular, but I'll start off with Dragon's Lair and if there's something else you want me to talk about like Space Ace, those scrapped games, or something else, go ahead 👍👍

(I'm so sorry for how long this is. And also this is just tying canon together with headcanon, so take it as you will)

Alright, before we begin, let's establish something. Even though he comes off as a very underrated character in the franchise, the games and its spin off material seems to do its best to establish the character of Mordroc (not to mention getting a lot more of a canon description and backstory than Dirk, Daphne, and Singe). It's mostly established through canon material that he is the main villain, as Singe and the other goons are just souls he owns (or the dark kingdom residents). Most of the levels and villains support this motive that he's just building up his power and kingdom.

Another thing established through the games is that the castle is likely very infamous, and it's often implied (more so little details and once in the comics) that knights have been set out before Dirk. So then why do you not see bones and armor of past knights littering every once of the castle? There's 3 explanations for this.

1. You do actually see knights, one being the Black Knight(Phantom Knight?) and the invisible armored figure in the floor-tile level. Despite his ghostly implication, the Phantom Knight has a lot of once-human qualities; like his figure, his voice, and still having a horse. You can easily assume because of this, that these were once knights for the actual kingdom on the other side of the land.

2. In the lava level, you are introduced to the Lava/Mud-Men, who are fairly strange creatures- but don't seem to actually be aggressive towards Dirk at all. While they do cause and appear in deaths, their intent is not to cause them. In the first and most prominent death they're seen in, they work together to push Dirk into a geyser full of mud. As soon as they emerge from it, you can see all 4 smile, with brand-new one frowning in the middle that so happens to be wearing Dirk's helmet (Aka they were once people). In the second death, Dirk falls into a tide and is pulled to the edge of the river. From the side, you can see the mud-men gather and watch him as he goes down in a concerned manner.

And finally 3. Apparently it's cannon that if you get cut, stabbed, slashed, or electrocuted in the DL universe, you have a 90% chance of blipping from existence. It's fully established with enemies, but you do see it happen to Dirk a couple times in his deaths- so it's just an overall thing instead of just working on the enemies.

So yeah, the Lair itself has this function and motive behind it. You can probably assume the majority of the characters were caught and forced to reproduce in the dungeon (Giddygoons), were once people (Knight characters, and Mud-Med), or was brought as an egg and raised (Lizard King, and probably Singe)-as a ploy to build up the support of the 'dark kingdom' and its riches.

Anyways, let's talk about the other half of the story before I forget. From across the land, the real kingdom resides. From a distance their rulers bare no prominent issues. However, on the inside, the castle and its staff 'suffers' because of the princess not putting enough heart into her land. Princess Daphne is a unique individual, often stepping out of the boundaries expected for a young lady at the time (also showing more than what would be allowed in a dress + wearing heels before women were allowed to). Her mother, despite being past a point of having an adult child, resents this behavior and always looks out to correct it. However, from Daphne's perspective, she was raised to do something she never had a passion or attention span for, and often fancied herself for the lives outside of royalty. She was corrected constantly no matter what, and often scolded by her piers with the phrase 'A good princess is seen and not heard'.

Eventually, Mordroc's dark castle eventually caused a major issue for the kingdom's people, and a neighboring kingdom generously transferred one of their best knights to subdue the issue. Dirk, or 'Dirk the Daring' was born in raised in a far-off and small village by his two parents on their farm. His parents were not that well off despite the farm, but were very humble with what they had nonetheless. When Dirk was very young, his family's previous home was taken down to some freak accident with him in the middle of it. Because of this, the parents found that he was suffering from Noise/Damage-Induced Hearing loss. As the boy had no outward sources to recover at the time, he began to lose his motive, voice, and personality. After seeing this decline, his parents invested almost every last penny with physical trainers, signing classes, and medics to restore the boy to his former glory. This paid off well down the line, as Dirk was able to enhance his natural instinct, skills, and graduated quickly from squire to local knight because of it. Through his pay through quests and journeys, he funded it all back to his parents and moved on from any kingdom that needed his assistance.

Once the transfer came through, Daphne's overall confidence was gained back again as she finally had someone to talk to without being scolded or told to act feminine. It wasn't a love at first sight thing, but rather two friends who supported each other well and didn't mind if the other had something to vent or talk about. The kingdom suspected something before they did, as there would be a point where you couldn't see one without the other tagging along. Sooner or later, the friendship broke-and was kept in private due to how they expected others to react to two different classes coming together.

The Queen eventually found out about it and embarrassingly announced it to her people to throw shame towards it. Because of this, the Queen did everything in her power to split the two up. Despite scheduling multiple useless meetings and suitor dates appointments for Daphne, and threatening and isolating Dirk- even to the point of greatly lessening his pay-nothing seemed to prevail. Even as she grew even more desperate, she frequently sent Dirk out on su1c1de missions-becoming the more impatient as he finished each one- unscathed.

The desperation grew outside of her morals, as she feared nothing more than her bloodline not carrying through the kingdom- or having to suffer a 'peasant' being a prince. At once, she called for a meeting in private with Mordroc, who was infamously known amongst the kingdom. The Queen made a deal he couldn't refuse, as she requested for him to separate Dirk and Daphne to allow for kingdoms and suitors to throw their hat in the ring of claiming and marrying daphne. For his reward, Modroc was offered to be announced 'redeemed' amongst the kingdom-and offered a place as the royal mange (Local Mange-Mordroc is seen/supported in some scrapped spinoff material). Mordroc agreed, with intention of either a. corrupting the castle from the inside and claiming the entire land or b. having the plan backfire a little and either have a disfigured princess and/or knight(s) to add to his kingdom's collection (as interpreted by the fact that writers don't seem sure if Mordroc and Singe are in it for catching Daphne or Dirk-and can't seem to make up their minds) (Also a handful of the deaths show Dirk getting captured, so it could be a double motive thing-as supported by the Phantom Knight paragraph)

Taking it way too far, Mordroc sent out his biggest Drake Dragon to retrieve Daphne, allowing for one of his goons to announce to neighboring villages and kingdoms to send their best to save her. While waiting for Daphne's safe return, the Queen ordered her men to blindly do what they can to subdue Dirk from going out to have her. Eventually, the kingdoms lost a good amount of men trying, which began to worry the Queen of her daughter's safety. Her desperation overcame her and she sent out the majority of her men- having none of them come back. Unintentionally, she got rid of what was keeping Dirk out of the way, so he immediately went out to save his princess.

After barley succeeding- Dirk was able to slay the Drake and save Daphne. She eventually caught on to what went on, and denounced her role as princess because of how twisted and uncaring her royal family has shown to be thus far. Dirk purposed at some point during this period of transfer, and they agreed to live in his hut and live off of what pure vigilantism would bring. While this did have a steady decline in pay compared to what they had before, they eventually made little successes as the years passed by; having only a few kids of their own, but becoming a safe and open home to adopt children with unsafe, abusive, neglectful, or non-supporting households. (Aka, why they didn't age much between 1 & 2, and why Daphne's body isn't hormonally wrecked from having 10+ kids)

The fact that they were building up a family of their own with no apparent regrets leaving the kingdom upset the Queen greatly. She became desperate once more, asking Mordroc to help once more with no further elaboration. After being upset from the last 'deal' not paying off at all and costing him most of his goons, Mordroc took it his own way and decided to split the two by marrying Daphne for himself. When they were least expecting it (likely when Dirk was out of uniform), he took Daphne and disappeared with her across time. Mordroc placed the beginning of a banshee spell on her, which is further inflicted on the subject by mourning what is lost (aka why he rips her from her time to one where Dirk and their kids aren't alive) and the placement of a sacred wedding ring (you may recall that this also supports the habit of Mordroc mutating and disfiguring all of his subjects)

The Queen being behind this is also supported by a couple things in the first scene of DL2

If it just happened, why did she hear about it. It's the 1400's. Are we really going to pretend like doves are that fast?

Also if she did hear about it, it would likely be from Dirk asking her to take care of the kids. She literally neglects the kids for the majority of her screen time, and just focuses on killing the one guy who can save her daughter.

Without an ounce of explanation, she targets Dirk for staying back and not leaving an unstable hut full of children (in the middle of a dark forest) who just lost their mom. The game and attraction show that her intention isn't to help him or get him out-but she literally breaks into their home to traumatize a bunch of kids by trampling their house-their dinner- and yelling at and murdering their father right in front of them. This could just be a ploy to just get rid of him while Mordroc is executing the other half of the plan (Okay-you can also say that the majority of the villains are voiced by the same guy also as evidence, but that also extends out to the time machine so... eh? 🤷)

(Uh-yeah. The little DL lore 'expert' here; I have no idea how to explain why Mordroc's mother gave birth to a time machine, or even how a time machine gave birth to Mordroc. There's literally nothing that alludes to the time machine being once-human. Honestly I don't think he was supposed to talk originally-but then they just had to explain partially why a wizard and a guy from the 1400's can time travel. No other material seems to talk about the time machine brother. Dirk just acts like he doesn't hear it- and maybe I don't either because its literal existence makes no lick of sense)

Mmmmm. I don't know how to end this honestly because there's two endings to DL 2. One is the normal one where Dirk breaks the curse and places it on Mordroc; instantly turning him into an indistinguishable mass having to be put out of his misery. But in the directors cut I have no Idea what happens because Daphne's curse only goes as far as knocking her out and turning her purple once- and then Mordroc just screams as the ring is flung onto him. I don't know if 'Director's Cut' is the director setting the bar to how far Mordroc would go or not, but overall the first ending doesn't seem out of place or character at all. The full release even calls that ending 'Full Mordroc'-but I still have no clue what that means because it literally lessens his pay-off and motive. Maybe they didn't want him to die in the end to open for a #3-idk.

Anyways, that's about it.

HR Wells for the bingo?

HR!!!! So much lost potential. He was underdeveloped, though of the various Wells characters only Harry had any long term, semi-consistent development. But HR had a lot of interesting hinted-at backstory that got dropped, not just because he was killed off but because the show runners decided building Cynthia up as Cisco's love interest was more interesting than addressing the implications of the Collector's MO.

The story of E19 HR painted was one that had been ecologically destroyed and become a fascist state in it's post-apocalyptic recovery. But S5's post HR arcs involving E19 just kind of hand wave past that because Breacher is cool and Cynthia is sweet under her kick ass exterior.

He really stands out amongst the other main character Wells who pop up in the show. He's not a genius, he's more of a muse. More in touch with the emotional intelligence side of things, something which comes up the following season with Harry when he suffers brain damage from using the Thinking Cap. And it's a shame, really, that HR isn't able to be there for Harry, that no one even brings up HR in reference to what Harry's going through or as an example of not needing to be a genius to contribute to the team. Ultimately Harry, Sherloque, Nash, and Timeless are all genius characters in some way, but HR relates so differently to the world than they do that I feel like they really missed out on delving further into his backstory and tying him more firmly to Harry's S4 story.

I tend to headcanon HR as having suffered some kind of traumatic head injury in E19's war in the 90s that caused permanent brain damage. It parallels what Harry goes through S4, but also shows that he was able to eventually move on with his life and find new creative outlets and new ways of expressing himself, an example Harry would have benefited from. And HR still being alive in S4 would have perhaps allowed for a different kind of story with the Collectors because in order for HR to go home, there would have to be some kind of social upheaval. And I think Cynthia might have been a more sympathetic character to me if she'd started to question the organization she worked for.

lots of different things ... deer, dogs, bugs, hearts + viscera, deserts, skulls + skeletons ... if i have nothing in mind i'll usually end up drawing these in my sketchbook

probably more on the 'just for fun side' considering illustration is like. a passive source of income for me rn ... i've done a good chunk of commissions but mostly i draw for myself as of late

16. do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less?

it sort of depends what i'd consider as 'past', as i didn't draw all that much during high school/junior high but used to draw a ton in elementary school . nowadays i'd say i generally draw a lot, both for school and for my own enjoyment - i'm a lot more productive than i was for a while, so that's nice :-)

25. do you like to draw in silence, or with music?

music, always- i think it just helps with concentrating, at least for me. sometimes i'll listen to podcasts, too, but i've got like a hundred playlists to choose between so I listen to music like 90% of the time

29. for traditional artists: how do you usually start on a big piece?

it's been a while since i've done a big piece solely in traditional mediums, as lately i'll start w/ a graphite sketch and then transfer to digital. but i always start with loose sketches to figure out composition and sometimes ill add some watercolour just to figure out colours i like, and that's about it before i get into actually working on the final version

I mean this kind of thing is why I generally hate time travel as a plot device, I can only tolerate it in stable time loop situations like FFVIII. But that’s why Elpis works for me; Gisele’s canon even tightens it up because Emet came back for good and joined her Scions as Hades way back in 5.3 with what was at the time a vague “I want to see what you lot can do protecting this star” explanation for why he wanted to join them (the ulterior reason being Gisele ofc).

Come 6.0 and Elpis handed me a concrete reason for it on a silver platter, with the lore we got that people get their memories restored when they go to the Aetherial Sea. Obviously that means when Emet died he remembered what happened in Elpis. So he knows at some point the Final Days will happen again, and Gisele will go back in time for answers, etc. He doesn’t know exactly when, or how she will do this, so pursuant to his ancient charge to protect it (and atone for his actions) he comes back to join the Scions and ensure that she lives to perform that mission. He’s even the one who suggests Gisele go talk to Elidibus for more insight into the original Final Days, coincidentally and neatly tying the bow on why it was necessary for him to come back and be a Scion.

The shit with the bad future timeline and GT by contrast legitimately hurts my head because it makes no fucking sense to me. It never did even in ShB but given the “rules” Elidibus gave us before we went to Elpis it extra crispy doesn’t make any goddamn sense to me for GT to be walking around. And so it comes across solely as breaking internal story logic in the name of fanservice for a character I’m not fond of (to put it charitably), who hurt and outright triggered my WoL given her past trauma and was rewarded for it by the game.

the truly maddening thing is not being able to talk about any of this in the mildest least critical way without ppl coming at me with whataboutism and demanding I justify to them why I can’t deal with him but love [insert probably a villain here] etc etc etc

so that’s why I’m just washing my hands of it entirely.

First Impression: I, like alot of people I think, didn't immediately like her at introduction. Because the real beauty of her character comes later. But even at the start she still caught my eye

Being that the whole rude snobby thing seemed like an act to protect herself in this situation since she began to quickly open up later, she is amazing and I adore her. The complexity of that fuels me.
