I've been here the whole time but there's a lot of stuff to be sorted out, packing out since i'm back moving to home. Family issues, lots of family issues here and there. Babysit my nephew, (but hey i got niece too now just recently!:D) and guilt eating me up.

This might be just me and my overthinking, BUT I FEEL SO GUILTY SHOWING UP EMPTY HANDED;-;! I've been gone for so long and missed lots moots bday, request and stuff us been talking that i said "omg i have to draw this!" ahh type of conversation. Ngl, in my disappearance i missed my cod moots;-; like ahh... I don't know but i'm feeling like moots will not love me anymore if i showed up empty handed, like "who the hell are you back nonchalantly after so long gone?" that's why i took my time to make up and made drawings to reconcile with friends'-' There's like, around 20+ WIPs i've been doing for the past of my disappearance (there's still a few left and i'm working on it. There's also done art that i'm not yet handing out now for moots's bday^^) I always believed to be loved is to perform, to entertain. No? Well aside from internal problem it's just family issues but eh- i also got new niece:3 so, that's all! and now i'm resting after a whole week babysit toddler. Yesterday I had fallen down a tiny spiral of muppet/sesame street bloopers, and aside from the silliness, I just love the art of puppeteering overall. It's so admirable as to how full of life those puppeteers make the characters look. There's so many different types of puppets too it's crazy, but they all make it look SO EASY. Like bro, how the hell did Big Bird's actor/puppeteer (current and past) even manage to operate him? (Years of practice ik, shush-) HOW DO THEY KNOW WHERE THEY'RE GOING?? I know with the handheld puppets, their puppeteers look at monitors on the ground as a visual aid, BUT WHAT ABOUT BIG BIRD? AND SNUFFLEUPAGUS??? 💀 Snuffy has TWO people operating him, THAT'S CRAZY-

I'm rambling omg, but ANY WHO, I just love that shit. I actually never really grew up with sesame street nor the muppets, but I admire the work behind it. I genuinely want to make a puppet of my own so bad just so I could learn how tf to make one move so fluidly, and to just be silly with it. I think it'd be a load of fun.

He recently put out a Dr. Ratio audio, it was pretty good but ngl the dirty talk gave me whiplash (I just don't peg veritas as the dirty talking type ig). Xiao, the way he "acts" for Xiao is pretty cute at times, and every single Itto audio, like he's just so perfectly silly 🥰 I've also been coming back the "first time" Jing Yuan audio and his first Wriothesley audio. I saw he came out with an Aventurine one but I hadn't checked it out yet

My brain has been doing some really interesting things recently ngl

For whatever reason I've been cycling through several different things that I feel like and it's kinda fun actually. Of course there's the occasional skunk girl and dragon girl thoughts (I've actually been thinking more about poison dragons lately) but I've really been feeling demonic, too (mainly a fire demon). Sometimes I think of myself as a corpse flower (specifically the Amorphophallus Titanum!) and I've also been intrigued by stuff like swamp/bog witches and poisons and biohazardous stuff in general

What's funny about all of this is that most of these have something to do with fire/heat. What's funnier is that all of them stink in a way. Skunk spray is a given and at least coming from what I understand some demons, especially fire demons, are known to reek of sulphur. Corpse flowers heat themselves up to spread their stink to attract flies and pollinators, and my draconic nature kinda ties in to my demonic side. The thing is I have no idea why this is, my brain is wired kinda funny when it comes to things that stink but I never thought it'd be so prevalent that it literally defines me

I'm not mad about this actually, in fact I fucking love it! I knew that there was some type of pattern but Idk I was hoping for the longest time this wasn't it... But hey thinking about it, a morbid fascination for the scent of danger, death, rot, and decay never hurt anyone at the end of the day eh?

Regarding your post mentioning Genshin burnout, recently I kind of felt it as well ! The only saving grace for me was Scara's banner, I finally managed to get him on Tuesday after pining for him during the past few months. So I guess I kind of have more motivation to play now? Esp to build him along w his team (Layla and Faruzan also popped up in my rolls :D). But after I've built them sufficiently, I might lose motivation again ...

And I saw you mention toxicity on online platforms, this is so real (for both Genshin and HSR) 😭 Like I was scrolling on Reddit yesterday and I saw a hella cute AvenPaz family artwork. It was then reposted on another subreddit (It's kinda meme-y community) and OMG they were being so rude ... Like they legit seemed so pressed seeing Aventurine in a non-BL ship. They were going "ohhh the str8s are at it again," (they used a more obscene term that I won't name) and I was thinking: so my bi self is apparently mega straight now just because I like NL stuff, huh 🤨🤨 I had to unsubscribe, like I loved seeing the funny edit pics from this subreddit but whenever they see a NL ship (or even a hint that a male playable character could be with girl) they just absolutely become so rude... I guess it could have been worse (like straight up brigading the artist) but the negativity was so so off-putting. Ofc we could all have our own preferences but whyyy feel the need to become so insulting when they see something they don't like.

Big big sorry for longggg negative vibes rant 😭 Ngl I'm also super tempted to go off about the treatment of a certain architect by the hands of both Mihoyo and a huge chunk of Genshin fandom, but if it is too uncomfy for you then I will refrain. ^^ I don't want to disrespect your blog !

Honestly, the entirety of the Hoyoverse fandom is quite toxic. The only game that’s exempt from it, to my knowledge, is Tears of Themis.

Reddit is definitely up there with Twitter for being the most toxic platform in the fandom (I’m guessing TikTok and Instagram too, but I’ve never been on these sites). The BG/NL ship bashing is incredibly common, unfortunately. Really can’t enjoy anything NL on there. Really, why can’t they leave the things they don’t like alone and just move on? Why be so rude? 😔

I used to be a part of AlhaithamMains and things were mostly chill at first, but over time it became a haikaveh mains. Anyone who requested for there to be a separate sub for the ship was berated, and posts politely saying they didn’t see Kaveh and Alhaitham in a romantic light were rife with hateful and aggressive comments. I remember someone posted Kavehlumi art in KavehMains, and one person had the audacity to comment that Kaveh actually belongs to Alhaitham. And these types of comments were EVERYWHERE, under every NL ship post.

I took one peek into AventurineMains, saw the very first post talk about how Ratiorine is implied in the 2.0 quest, and noped out of there. Not surprised the same fate befell Aventurine 😔

So yes, Reddit is full of awful, loud people that ruin the fun for anyone who doesn’t ship the popular ship. You were right to leave. I left a long time ago and have been so much happier because of it. It’s unfortunate you have can’t enjoy a lot of things now, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to protect your mental health.

If you want to go off and rant about how Kaveh gets treated, please do! God knows I have my own gripes about it, so it’s really nice to know I’m not the only one troubled by it. Plus, I love it when people share their complaints with me, so don’t worry about being too negative.

Trust me, there are quite a few of us girls who love Kaveh but don’t care for BL. We just keep to ourselves and stay quiet to avoid trouble from the toxic shippers.

With my post sharing a part of the WIP for the introduction of my BG3 fanfic, I've had a lot of consideration regarding the depiction of Calimshan and how Raphael fits into it.

Having been an art student, I received a bit of education regarding orientalism, and digging into Calimshan's lore made me take that into consideration, because the place is clearly inspired by the Ottoman empire with more Middle-Eastern traits blended into it, but I didn't want to run into the pitfall of antiquated stereotypes.

I decided to separate the Ottoman inspiration from the Middle-Eastern one (which is given to the Peninsula of Zakhara instead), and run with a more Ottoman setting as a consequence. It means a (fake) historical and social context befitting of the Land of Intrigues, as one of the hallmarks of the Ottoman empire IRL was power reach and political intrigues, all well-hidden under the veneer of elegant luxury. I am going for a cloak and dagger type of story, if you will.

Now, you may think it's dangerous to throw devils into the mix, when I pretend to walk around stereotypes. I've decided to justify their presence not because "urrdurr middle-eastern weird with djinns and all", but by pulling directly from the recent history of Calimshan, how its inhabitants tend to behave, and how devils could be very interested in meddling with mortal affairs as a consequence. The state of Calimshan, and more specifically Calimport, by 1479DR, is pretty fucking dreadful. My story starts a bit later, in 1482DR. With the murder of Pasha Marod el Arhapan (by his own estranged son, no less) and the fall of his floating Palace on a very packed arena, I do imagine that things are quite wild in the region afterwards. There's a power vacuum waiting to be filled with a new dynasty of Syl-Pasha, a plot to get the djinn Calim out of his banishment to the Elemental Chaos, the Sharran Church is active, there's also an active cell of the Night Parade (who're basically the local boogeymen - quite literally, since they kidnap children to transform them into monstrous creatures and help the Night Parade invade the Mortal Plane to flee the demiplane of Nightmares. Of course, they used to be Netherese lol) despite it being severely damaged by the Harpers, slavery of anybody not Genasi is still very much a thing (except Genasi are losing their hold on the whole situation and slave revolts are brewing, led by the city of Almraiven)...

I do think there's a lot of reasons for devils to prey on locals, in Calimshan. In Calimport especially, things were pretty damn shite under Marod's rule. The man had a taste for blood and focused on brutal gladiatorial fights as entertainment. Meanwhile, his Vizar had his own agenda to fill, and now he has to deal with the consequences of Marod's rule and murder while still having to handle his own plans. I think it makes a neat parallel with Raphael, who dips his toes in many-a-plot to use them as propelling boards for his own agenda. As for Nuria, she's a pawn in all of that - but a valuable one, with her own agenda as well.

Ngl it's quite exciting to work on that, because the whole setting fits exactly into the type of story I like best (cool stuff like The Lies of Locke Lamora or To the Victors go the Spoils). I hope my own work will be of interest, especially since I have a free pass on the context between 1482DR and 1492DR as fsr as Calimshan lore is concerned - the last we know of it stops at 1479DR (Sandstorm novel), and 5e doesn't exactly delve into the Land of Intrigues the way 4e did.

Those are Gunsmoke (radio version), MASH, Star Wars: Legends + Star Wars: prequels, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the DCU (but more like, specifically the all media types of Batman and Superman specifically)

I try to! Recently I haven't been as good about keeping up with them because of my chronic illness stuff, but when I have a good day I try to get them done :) I think it's really fun to connect with people who have similar tastes as I do, and get to discuss headcanons or plot points or what have you!!

I don't usually write things that end on angst, I usually aim for hurt/comfort or at least some form of hopeful ending. I've been told that Missing Memories is my angstiest fic, but I think that title is actually held by Pompeii (If You Close Your Eyes) (song fic)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'd say if i were to save you, would you do the same (kylux). It's the whole surviving against all odds and then looking toward the future thing, you know?

Not on Ao3, but I have on ff.net. It's been a few years since those days though!

I do!! I just don't post it, for reasons related to I haven't finished the fics in question yet lol. I try to write it as a way for the characters to explore each other and connect on a different level beyond the usual grime and gore and horror of the worlds they live in.

So. I don't have any posted yet oh no I've said this like five times by now ahh, however I have plot bunnies for a MASH/Star Wars: prequels crossover, and I just started plotting out a Gunsmoke/DCU crossover. I think the Gunsmoke/DCU one is crazier exclusively because it's a very tiny fandom for a radio/TV show from the 50's mixed with the whole Batman and Superman fandoms, which. Kind of a large set of fandoms there ngl

Is it a cop out to say I just don't have one? I never really leave a fandom, even once I'm not actively writing for it, I just kind of cycle through them, so I cycle through my ships accordingly. Maybe PruCan (Hetalia), if only because they're my oldest otp??

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Well. Ideally none of them. I have every intention of eventually finishing everything I'm currently writing, hence why I refuse to post them until they're done. That said, I've been sitting on several mostly-finished fics for like three+ years without actively working on them so. We'll see.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've been told my characterisation is really good, and I try to get as accurate a voice as I can for every character!!!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Repeating phrases and words without intending to. I used that exact word three times in like three paragraphs in a row, why am I like this!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Two thoughts: if you know enough of the language to have proper grammar and etc sure go for it, but also, is it being used with or without translation? If no one else is supposed to understand (besides the reader), I think that's very fun and 10/10, but if the other characters are supposed to understand and it's a lengthy bit, I think there can be other more effective ways to get that across.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Phineas and Ferb, and honestly I regret deleting those fics so so much now! I have no records of my writing from back then, and yes I found them cringe as an older teenager but now I just wish I could go back and tell my 13 year old self how far we've come.

20. Favourite fic you've written?

Whatever is most recently finished. Right now that's but when i'm alone on the longest nights, i think of you and your fairy lights :)

Hello. I hope you don’t mind me asking but I was wondering something about the Tyrant Prince Oblivion au. You see there was a recent ask from @unseelie-robynx about Syntax in that au and in it it was mentioned that her for of “wifed-up” design was being thought up and it got me wondering if there where other interesting things about the other characters who will be “wife-ified”. So can you tell us anything? Also I’m asking you since you did Wife Red’s design so…yeah

I will say first off both me AND @unseelie-robynx are making the Tyrant Prince AU, we're mostly fleshing it out via an extended rp between us, so you can ask either of us and we'll have roughly the same answers about this kind of thing give or take a bad end or a differing timeline one of us came up with on our own (the Red Wakes Up Bad End was almost entirely Robynx's for instance and I've been plotting out one I like to call The Cavalry Falls)

But in relation to the question, i will say we do have a couple of 'Wife' setups depending on the timeline, and all of them have specific Vibes and Aesthetics that are brought to the table.

So obviously there's Red, and his 'wife' look is very... 50's traditional i suppose you could say, very 'summer home in Stepford' as we call it

But you all already knew that, Wife Red is one of the main visual draws for this AU lmao

Huntsman is another person that got wife-ified, and he and Red are the only two that are always put in this position no matter the TP Timeline. (since Huntsman 'willingly' went into things to get the rebellion access to the music for an eventual reverse to be made and then getting left there for too long on Spider Queen's call to call off the rescue to avoid detection is kind of the real reason why any PLOT can happen at all after a certain point)

But Huntsman's design is based mostly on the fact that Xiaotian is still decently arachnophobic, and from his bias it lead to Red's bias, and thus they directed Huntsman toward looks that 'covered him up' so to speak. we settled on a 'gothic lolita' type aesthetic and... ngl when i was drawing it out...

he honestly kills it

(though my own art style might have some part in that since my artistic influences have a lot of Shoujo in them so my character art tends to come out a fair bit softer)

In the Bad End where Syntax gets wife-ified just by getting caught, we went for something kind of 'victorian' since, as Robynx has said, the Court (mainly Xiaojiao and Xiaotian, but Red's not innocent in this either) kind of took a lot of frustration out on him for how much of a troublesome prisoner he was, thus he'd be specifically put in stuff that purpousefully gives him some constant low level misery.

Corsets that are always a bit TOO tight and press the implant against his spine, big poofy skirts that are super NOT Good texture and he's the only one we agreed would be put in heels (since Red probs rarely wears shoes at all and Huntsman would more likely be in Mary Janes for The AestheticTM) all specifically to restrict his movement and make life as baseline miserable as possible but in ways that people wouldn't notice.

but he IS more protected in the Red Wakes Up ending since these freaks do still consider themselves heroes and thus would probably honor the deal Huntsman struck with Red to come quietly in exchange for Syntax's general wellbeing

as such I think they'd probably put him in something softer, less specifically put together to hurt, though I personally do still like the 'period peice' concept for like irony's sake, so personally i'm fond of like, a 'turn of the century Gibson Girl' type look in that particular ending

Robynx already told y'all our general ideas on what would happen to Spindrax in either of the ends that she appears in, but in a few of them she doesn't really show up at all, and in THOSE timelines we do have an alternate wife for Xiaojiao with her own aesthetic niche

She's a fully OC character named Shuyin, we've mentioned every so often that in the Tyrant Prince world there IS a growing cult full of people that know that Xiaotian is brainwashing people and are doing so to themselves willingly, and one thing lead to another until they were convinced that 'the court' was in fact a 'Pantheon' instead. and they became a real fucking Cult.

Shuyin was made as a way to examine the cult from the inside, but we accidentally got attached to her and so did Xiaojiao so in timelines where the court are made fully aware of the cult and as such are made fully aware of the whole 'brainwashing' thing (but since the cult is very good at recruiting people they tend to be able to get them On Board with the whole thing so now whoever discovered it goes from unknowing pawn to willing accomplice) Shuyin gets that 'coveted' title of 'Xiaojiao's Wife' first due to her worship of her making the idea of 'owning' someone particularly alluring.

But since she didn't catch Xiaojiao's attention by being a pain turned obsession and also has a physical disability Xiaojiao is far softer to her than she is to Spindrax in other worlds. And as such has a softer aesthetic to go with it. Specifically Xiaojiao likes elegant looks on Shuyin, long flowing peices that show off her height and such. Shuyin is CONSIDERABLY taller than Xiaojiao and it makes for a fun visual.

After a certain point Shuyin also starts regularly wearing Xiaojiao's classic varsity jacket since in this AU she tends to wear her armor more often she doesn't wear it herself much anymore

Thats it for all the Main characters that get 'Wife'-ified though, there are a few minor characters that play out the 'husband and wife' dichotomy that are in the cult, but there's only a FEW people where you're horrified but also looking at them like 'they're killing it in that look tho'

and i will say that there ARE others that get OWNED that don't get Wife'd of course. any given bad end has Macaque getting Little Brother'd of course and there is someone else in a Bad End we haven't made public yet, but it's fine it's fine

📚💡💭 for the ask game!! i want to Know Everything

okay so:

📚- ngl, I went through a fic reading spree right after i finished the series, read some of the best works i've ever found, and have not been able to find them again, BUT... the most recent fic I've been following is wriggle up on dry land by altschmerzes which is FANTASTIC (i think you've also read this one but...) also held onto hope (like a noose, like a rope) by scarlettroses. there are def more, but those are my two most recent reads on ao3, of gen/platonic relationship centric variety which is what i'm going with since I think that's more your jam and more applicable to Everyone? <3

💡- currently, i have 4 fic-related WIPS, and one other non- fanfic project sort of going! all the fics are ted lasso related and in extremely varying stages of completeness.

💭- i would say i take inspiration from like, three main places: other writers, as in, if i read something i really like, fic or otherwise, i'll try writing something in a similar style. i have a hard time branching out and that's usually what encourages me to. second- psychology. i'm a psych student, and because of that, i tend to write a lot of introspective, character analysis type of stuff. third, other media/music. i take a lot of inspo for my dialogue style from buffy the vampire slayer, and then i usually have very curated music playlists for things i'm writing.
