Who don't let those actions or circumstances demoralise them because they don't want to be bad people. Who don't necessarily like committing those actions nor do they particularly want to but would do so in a heartbeat for the sake of the people they love. Who are hurting and exhausted from everything they've been through and have every reason to go down a dark path but won't let anything corrupt them or abdicate the goodness within them because that decency is really the only thing they have control over.
