Riddle wanted to invite you to an unbirthday party. You were his significant other of course he wanted you to attend. He also wanted to show off a little bit, though it was only natural to want to show your partner the best of yourself. A few times you'd asked him to let you help with setting up. Those were his favourite times. He'd sent you a letter invitation - as he usually does- but you hadn't responded to it yet. There was a small ball of nerves forming in the pit of his stomach.

As he climbed the steps to The Ramshackle dorm, he heard laughter. With a slightly angry hand, he knocked on the dorm. His anger lessened ever so slightly you answered the door, still smiling. "Why didn't you respond to my letter?" 

He asked, trying to hide his fear behind irritation. He looked past you and saw streamers hanging from the dirty dorm ceiling.

"Well, today's my birthday. It would be pretty rude to show up to an unbirthday party on my birthday."

The ghosts dragged him into Ramshackle and made him miss his own unbirthday party

You saw him later walking in the hallway, but you never interacted with him that day beyond a small wave and a smile. You can’t always spend time with your boyfriend, life is busy sometimes. So, you spent the day with yourself and your friends. He popped up later that night, in the middle of your own little birthday party. How he found out you had no idea, maybe he didn’t know and just wanted to spend time with you. Whatever the reason may be, he was here and you were happy about it.

Azul hadn't seen you all day and he'd started to get worried. You didn't have a lot of classes that overlapped, but you would normally spend lunches together. Today was a weekend, which made him even more nervous.

Luckily or not, weekends were when the lounge was most busy so he threw himself into his work to distract from the growing thoughts that swirled in his head.

He made it until past noon before he left to go look for you.

He checked all your usual spots but couldn't find you or your friends. When he finally checked your dorm, he heard loud laughter from the backyard. He walked along the side of the house and spotted you and Grimm having a water balloon fight. One hit you in the face and you slipped, laughing all the way down. 

When Grimm spotted him, his laughter died down. You turned your head to see Azul standing at the entrance to your little overgrown garden.

Before he could ask what was going on he saw a small cake on one of the nearby tables. You hit him in the face with a balloon, the plastic sticking to his glasses.

Congrats! You now have to comfort him for hours on your birthday because he's sad 😢

But seriously he knows well enough what it's like to be alone on your birthday and feels horrible that he'd unknowingly subject you to that. 

Spends the rest of the day with you doing what you want

At the end of the day, he has a little impromptu dinner at the Lounge, free of charge! (The price is actually a kiss on the cheek)

“That’s it sweetheart, keep going.” Semi coos at his 3 year old who is playing a little pink guitar (for children) she’s singing the words to You Are My Sunshine while Semi was recording her.

Why? Well, to cheer you up. Your friend was going through some really hard stuff that made you feel very upset so you went to help her out. Meaning Semi was to take care of your sweet toddler.

“Shunshine, you are mah shunshine!” She sung happily, Semi couldn’t bring himself to correct her wording. “You make me happy- uh what rest of da words daddy?” She asks still strumming the guitar out of tune.

He whispers the words as not to interrupt the video, “when skies are gray.”

“When skies are gway!” She sets the guitar down after singing that line.

“Daddy I done, send to Mommy.” She says eagerly and he chuckles. Your long time boyfriend (now fiancé) stops the recording and sends it to you.

“I think mommy will love this video.” He says holding his arms out for Kana to sit in his lap.

“I hope it make her feel happy, you think she really like it?” Kana asks playing with her small fingers.

“I think she’ll love it, would you like to play the piano, my dear?” Your home is filled with a bunch of instruments and Semi loves letting his little girl choose something each day to try to see if she’ll be a musical genius.

“Hmmm,” she taps her chin and responds, “I wanna play drums.” He moves his hair out of his face and picks his daughter up to take her to the music room where Semi works on songs and holds practice for his band.

“Drums it is!” He says and Kana claps her hands and does a little cheer.

Half way through their drum session Semi gets a phone call from you. When he picks it up he puts it in speaker.

“Hey baby, you’re on speaker.” He informs.

“Hey,” you say sounding tired. “Where’s my sweet pumpkin who sung for me?” You ask over the phone. Kana sets down the drum sticks and practically runs over to Semi’s phone.

“Me! It’s me mommy!” She says bouncing up and down.

“Thank you Kana, that made mommy feel much better.” You tell her which makes her giggle.

“Thank you mommy! What else I sing?” She asks. Your precious three year old is definitely ready to sing another song for you.

“How about row, row, row your boat?” You asked knowing it was an easy song that Kana knew.

“OO! OKAY!” She took a deep breath and started to sing.

“Row, row, row-” she stopped and you planned to ask her why but she answers the question that doesn’t come out of your mouth.

“Daddy! Why you not singing? Mommy loves when Daddy sings!” She practically scolds.

His deep chuckle is heard on your end. “Sorry, sorry. Let’s sing it together.”

Your two most precious people sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat. You felt better by the end of it. After Kana talked to you for a bit Semi dismissed her to play the drums while he chatted with you for awhile.

In the end you two talk about how precious your beautiful daughter is.

Fifteen year old Mei walked over to her father, she noticed him rubbing his temples.

"You okay, Daddy?" ahe asked worried for him.

"Yeah I'm good baby girl, momma and i just got into again. We'll make up with each other, though." Aran explains rubbing his goatee.

Mei walks over to him and gives him a hug.

"I'm sorry, Daddy. It's not your fault that I got dress coded." Aran didn't say anything in return, he was sighs realizing how unaware he was when arguing with you.

"I talked to momma about it, you didn't know the skirt was too short. It looks a lot like my other one, right?" She states.

He was starting to realize how childish the argument was. Mei's school is very strict so the fact the skirt was two inches shorter than it needed to be was beyond Aran's understanding. He hadn't even noticed the difference.

It only became a problem because you had to leave work to pick up Mei. Aran couldn't because he had a game. When he came home you started arguing with him. He argued back because you pinned the blame on him. After all, he was responsible for getting Mei and Koro to school.

"Yeah it does. Is Koro sleep?" He asks his daughter.

"I put him down before y'all started arguing." She says retracting from the hug.

"I'm really sorry, I don't like when you and momma fight." Aran frowns, you two have been fighting more often than usual.

"I know baby, I think momma is stressed with a lotta stuff. I mean she's finally back from maternal leave, she's working toward a promotion, and some other things. I just gotta be more mindful."

Before Mei can respond you emerge from upstairs, "Go on Mei, momma needs to talk to daddy in private." It doesn't go unnoticed how Mei gives her dad a thumbs up before making her way upstairs.

"Aran, baby, i'm sorry.. Mei told me what happened." You say quietly. You had no idea what you were expecting but it wasn't your husband holding his arms out for you.

He embraces you quietly for a few minutes. and then he responds.

"I know things have been rough lately. I just want you to know, I still love you." He explains softly.

That shouldn't have made you tear up but it did.

"I love you too, Aran. Always." You say mirroring his previous statement.

"Nishinoya Yuu he is two years ol-" you were cut off by your son.

"Sp-erm!" he says and claps. Noya mutters an 'oopsie' and you glare at him. "Yuu! Stop saying stuff like that in front of him," you scold.

"Well, tell him to stop copying me." Akio looks at his dad, "Stop, stop, stoooooooooop." You couldn't help but giggle it was so interesting seeing your son find his voice.

"Bye bye. Akio go bye bye." He says struggling to get down from the couch. Once he's down he starts running towards the bathroom.

"Yuu, make sure he's going potty and not playing in toilet water... again." Noya makes his way to the bathroom. After a few second you hear a groan followed by, "Akio, noooooo."

Your son can be heard laughing followed by, "daddy, noooooo."

"Dude toilet water is not something to play with." Noya sighs.

"Fuck you!" The two year old yells and you gasp loudly.

"Huh, wonder where you learned that, kid." Noya chuckled sheepishly.

"Nishinoya Yuu!" You yell and he comes into the dining room with your cute little trouble maker who had nothing on besides his pull-up.

"Ooooo daddy get trouble."

Noya begins muttering, "I don't- he must've... Tanaka..." you tap your foot and your two year old giggles.

"Tanaka what? Speak up, babe." you say with your arms crossed.

"Tanaka and I were watching a volleyball game with Akio and we were betting... the team I was betting on won so tanaka screamed f you when my team won by one point." Noya explains.

"Akio, that's a no no word, okay? We don't say everything we hear others say." You scold your son because not only is it Noya's fault it's his fault too.

"Otay mommy." Noya puts your little menace down.

"Let's go get you bathed little dude." He says smuggly.

"Good idea." When they're out of ears reach you sigh rather loudly.

You love your two guys but it can be tiring when your husband stoops to a two year old's level.

The type to be like "you want a piece of me little man?"

More often than not instead of handling a situation normally he'll get on his son's level

He stopped traveling so often to settle down with you

He and his son are always getting into some form of trouble

He made your son think popsicles are a sustainable breakfast

Butttt when you're gone he does pull himself together and makes an amazing father

He and Akio take naps together, being a menace is not easy work

Akaashi Keiji:

"No! The monster will get me!" Ami yells as she runs away from Bokuto.

"Papa save me!" She yells out to Akaashi.

"Honey, your Uncle Bokuto isn't a monster." he explains.

Bokuto pouts at Ami's reaction, any time he's over she gets scared. The scared little girl crawls into her father's lap for comfort. Akaashi rubs her little back and she hugs him close.

"I don't try to be scarey, Ami. I brought you candy!" Bokuto exclaims with the candy in his hand. It seems to work for a second because she turns her head to look at him. He smiles at her and she makes a small 'hmph' and nuzzles her head in her father's stomach.

"Come on, bun. Don't be shy, your uncle is really cool.." his voice lowers and he mutters, "at least most of the time he is." Ami hears this and giggles.

"Okay papa... you gotta hold my hand though, just in case." She says shyly.

Akaashi nods his head confirming he'll listen to his daughter's request. She cautiously approaches Bokuto. He holds out the candy for her to take, without hesitation the young girl grabs the candy and remembers her manners.

"Thank.. you." she says to bokuto. He beams at her and nods.

"That's my girl, you've got great manners." Akaashi says with a very small smile.

Everyone turns their head to the door because they hear it unlocking. "Ami, mommy's home with the kitten!" You yell.

Ami jumps up and down quickly forgetting she was even scared, "What did the vet say?! Will Popcorn be okay?!" She asks all at once.

"The vet said Popcorn has perfect health." Ami squeals in excitement. She runs over to the carrier to open it up so her kitten could come out.

Akaashi looks at his daughter in awe, "she's just like you." You know who he's refering to. He believes that your daughter looks more like you but you think it's the opposite.

"Papa come hold Popcorn!" Ami says. Akaashi walked toward the cat carrier and picked up the kitten. Ami was a giggling mess.

"Akaashi! I always knew you'd make a good father!" Bokuto exclaims dramatically.

"Huh, you really think so?" Akaashi asks and Bokuto can't get a word in because you're quick to interrupt.

"We know so!" Well, everyone knows so. Akaashi is calm and rational after all. He completes you and your daughter.

“Toru?” you called, stepping into the apartment you shared with your boyfriend; the lights in the entryway were off, and it seemed like only the kitchen was dimly lit. Odd, you thought, knowing he usually steered clear of the kitchen. You’d had a long day at work, though, and decided not to dwell on it. Instead, you toed off your shoes, tucking them away into their proper spot, and hanging your keys on their designated hook by the door before stepping further into the apartment.

Before you made it more than a few steps, though, Satoru was in front of you, a bright grin on his face and a bouquet of your favorite flowers in his hands. “Hey, sweetheart!” he greeted cheerfully, though he dialed back his enthusiasm a bit when he saw the exhaustion that weighed your body down. “Bad day?”

You gave a small shake of your head. “Just long.” You gladly accepted the flowers as he offered them to you, leaning in and closing your eyes for a moment as you gave them a sniff. “Thank you, baby. The flowers are nice.”

“I made dinner, too,” he told you with a smile, placing a hand lightly on your back and guiding you towards the dining room.

“You… cooked?” Satoru tried his best, you knew he did, but cooking was not his strong suit, which is why he was generally relegated to prep tasks when he helped you in the kitchen. Because you loved him, you’d eat at least a few bites of whatever it was he made, but you were already mentally running through your options for places to call and order something for delivery.

“No, I know better than that,” he replied with a small chuckle. “I’m not very good at cooking without supervision.”

As you stepped into the dining room, you saw that the table was set, with candles lit in the center, and this time it was your turn to laugh. The dinner your boyfriend had “made” for you was still in its little white takeout boxes, each box placed neatly in the center of a plate, with chopsticks and a glass of wine on either side – well, you thought it was wine at first, but them you noticed the bottle of sparkling grape juice Satoru had placed between your place settings.

“It looks delicious,” you said, looking up at him with a soft smile. “Thank you, Toru. I really appreciate it.”

Just then, your stomach decided it was the perfect time to make the most ungodly gurgling noise, making heat rush to your cheeks with embarrassment.

“Maybe you should stop appreciating it and start eating it,” Satoru teased, kissing your cheek and taking the flowers from your arms. “Sit, eat. I’ll put these in a vase and then join you.”

Finding no reason to argue, you did as he said, taking your seat at the table and picking up your glass, taking a small sip of the sparkling beverage as you turned to watch your partner move around the kitchen, looking over your small collection of vases before picking one, carefully trimming the stems of the flowers, then placing and arranging them in the vase once it had enough water in it.

The day of your mom's event came. Bada, Haeun, and Hyeji were able to come and you're having a blast until one of your mom's friends came up to you, with her son in tow.

"Oh my.. You look so pretty, Y/N! This is Hyeok Jae, my son. I hope you guys can be friends." the lady says and you had to fight the urge to not show a disgusted look because the guy looked like he totally made his mom do this whole fiasco to be close to you.

"Ah.. Sure.. Thanks Mrs. Lee.." you said politely as the lady excused herself to go talk with the other adults, leaving the Hyeok Jae with you.

"So.. I see you're looking pretty lonely, want to be my date for this event?" Hyeok Jae offered with a smug smirk and you looked around, desperately looking for Bada or your other friends to get away from this situation.

"I actually have a date. They're just getting me some drinks.. Now if you'll excuse me." you lied and tried to leave but he grabbed you by the wrist, preventing you from leaving and began being really mean to you, calling you a liar and playing hard to get for not accepting to be his date. You struggled to free yourself until Bada came to your rescue, slapping the guy's hand away from your wrist.

"You better stop that if I were you.." Bada threatened and you can see Hyeji and Haeun standing behind the guy, ready to beat his ass if he doesn't stop being an ass.

"Oh come on, Bada.. It's not like she's a lesbian like you so stop being all protective." Hyeok Jae chuckles and you look at Bada, she really looks like she's about to punch this guy's face until it's completely unrecognizable.

"Actually, I am and she's the date I was talking about. So if you would just leave before I call the security, that would be amazing. Thanks." you stepped in before things could escalate because you don't want to cause a scene, especially that your dad's around. You're scared that he might throw you somewhere far away to study if you cause any trouble that'll ruin his and your mom's reputation.

"Move it, asshat." Hyeji says as Hyeok Jae began to leave. You sighed and looked at your friends, giving them a small smile while they pulled you in for a hug.

"You okay bub? You weren't hurt right?" Haeun asked while inspecting your wrist. Sure enough, there were marks that'll leave some bruises which made Bada even angrier.

"That little shit.." she said through gritted teeth and you just rubbed her shoulder, an attempt to calm her down. She looks at you before taking a deep breath to calm her nerves.

The night went on without any problems, you forgot about Hyeok Jae as you're having lots of fun with your friends. They even got to meet your dad which was really nice though one thing is really bothering you and you wanted to talk to Bada about it so you dragged to the garden outside so you can talk in private.

"Bada, can I ask you some things?" you asked and Bada looked rather nervous but nodded nonetheless. She has a feeling that you're gonna ask if what Hyeok Jae said was true.

"Is it about what Hyeok Jae said about me? That I'm lesbian? Look, I'm not but it also doesn't mean that I don't like girls. I'm bisexual, I like both male and female.. If you're gonna be disgusted by what I am, then that's completely fine. I respect that.." Bada confessed and you stood there, trying to process everything in your head.

You looked at her then just pulled her in a hug. You couldn't find the right words to say at the moment and you hope that she realizes that despite her sexual orientation, you accept and that you're still best friends. She wrapped her arms around you, soft sobs escaping her lips as both of you just stayed in each other's embrace. No words were spoken yet you completely understood each other's feelings.

Bada thought that after that night, you would distance yourself from her or ignore her completely but you didn't. Things are still the same between you and her and she's very grateful about it.

"You know what, why don't we make a pact? "If you're not married by the time we reach the age of 28, then we will marry each other. Deal?" you held out your hand in front of Bada and the taller girl just laughed and shook your hand firmly. It was just a crazy thought but you felt rather sure about it. If you'd have to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you're sure that you want to spend it with Bada. You only knew each other for almost a year by now but it felt like you've known her your entire life. You completely get each other, completely feel safe with each other and trust each other.

"Deal. Well if we're not dating anyone during holidays each year, we get to take each other out on a date until we find the right people who'll love us and take care of us." Bada grins and you nodded happily. You're confused about your own feelings. You feel like you like Bada more than a friend but you also felt like it's just because you're always together.

"What? You look like you're already about to break off our pact. You good?" Bada asks, noticing you suddenly grew quiet and had a serious look on your face. You just playfully roll your eyes at her before grabbing her cap, laughing as you run to your next class with Bada chasing after you.

"Ha! You fell for it!" you laughed at her face and Hyeji only laughed seeing Bada running after you while Haeun took some pictures.

"Why don't you guys date already? Gosh.. It feels like I'm watching a school drama on tv.." Jong-in playfully says while your other classmates agreed. It's a common thing in your class since you and Bada are very close and sometimes you both act like an old married couple which you totally deny but your classmates says otherwise.

"Chill, guys. We'll get to that soon enough." you say in a playful manner, even winking at Bada who just rolled your eyes and gave you the middle finger which made you and the others laugh. Bada wanted it to be real. Knowing you for months now made her realize that she is slowly falling for you but she knows that you're still confused about your own feelings so she'll patiently wait until you're ready to take your friendship on a next level. This is my first time writing for Brahms, so I decided to do a drabble/hcs just to get myself accustomed to his character. I hope that's alright c:

Brahms was rarely bratty. Usually, so long as they followed the rules, and did everything as he liked, he was very well-behaved, if not a bit playful and mischievous. When he started noticing that they were straying from the schedule, even though it was only by a little bit, he decided the best course of action was to remind them just how much of a pest he could be.

It started with moving their things around, only slightly though. When he noticed that it hadn't changed their behavior, he moved on to flickering the lights on and off. That obviously bothered them, yet it only made their tardiness worse, and so begun his musical tantrums. At all hours of the day and night, he began cranking his record player's volume all the way up.

His shenanigans came to a close, however, when they burst into the music room, absolutely fuming, where not only the music was extremely loud, but the lights were flashing. Rushing to turn the music player off, they shouted at him, demanding that he stop. He had no intention to, until he noticed them swaying, and then, almost in slow motion, collapsing to the ground.

When they awoke, they found themselves in their bed, with the Brahms doll sitting in a chair by their bedside, glassy eyes staring at them. A residual headache throbbing when they went to sit up, they resigned themselves to a high-reclined position against the pillows. Only moments later, Brahms walked into the room, carrying a tray with a glass of water and some nearly burnt toast on it. Pulling up a second chair at their bedside, he placed the tray at their feet and gently moved them into a sitting position. He gave them the tray, muttering a small apology in his little voice. The toast was far from good, but with the way he was watching them expectingly, they forced it down regardless. He continued to stare at them, standing opposite of the doll, even after they finished eating. Catching on to the curiosity and worry behind his silence, they began to explain. “Brahms, Honey, it was a migraine. I’m gonna be fine.” Brahms stayed silent, still staring. After a few moments of his silence, they vaguely explained migraines to him, and how they affected them. A rare feeling of guilt crawled it way into Brahm’s chest, scraping and clawing at his insides. 

“I didn’t mean to hurt you, please don’t leave me.” He practically whined. The sight of such a large man, that was usually such a brat, so easily submitting and apologizing was endearing, but they knew the importance of structure and rules to him. 

“I’m not going to leave you, Brahms. And it’s okay, you didn’t know any better. But you need to understand that if you do that again, there’ll be consequences, alright?” Slowly and gently crawling into the small space next to them, he pressed his masked face into their neck. 

“Alright, just please don’t leave me.” 

“I won’t leave you, I promise.”

I hope you don't mind and if you'd feel like it, you could entertain me a little. ROs scenario ask incoming, for both series. But first, a little explanation where it comes from.

So, ever since last weekend started, I've been dealing with a big headache made by a toothache. and only today I finally have a dentist appointment. I'm tired from five days of barely sleeping, taking a little too much strong painkillers, and overall feeling dizzy and just too much, as well as being nervous as hell, since the last dentist visit I had (a few years ago) left me a little traumatised. I had a wisdom tooth removed waaay sooner than anesthesia kicked in (basically, I started feeling numb only after getting home). it hurt so much I left the dentist crying, with some adults looking at me like I'm crazy and kids looking scared. and I might be lucky the dentist didn't take it against me when I was so close to touch them myself (in attempt to take their hands off of me). so, today I wouldn't mind some little... fluff? comfort? anything, really, as I'm already standing in a store choosing my comfort plushie for today. (I may be 25 this year but I'm also adult enough to admit I need it).

anyway, the scenario? lets say MC is dealing with all that: a cheek so swollen they look like a hamster, toothache so big it leaves them either crying or dozing off in between, dizziness both from pain and as little (or as much) food they were able to get. add to that that little bit of trauma/being scared of dentists. and for whatever reason they need to wait a few days before meeting with a dentist. how would ROs help them, maybe comfort them in meantime? especially if all that could make even the calmest, kindest of MCs snap a little? (and they'd apologize either right after or once the pain is gone, depending on MC character)? 🥺

It's a bit rough for me to write answers for ROs from both series (cuz it's a lot) but I'll try my best XD

Zeus: They'll treat MC like how you would treat a feral pet: Carefully and slowly approach them from the rear. XD But for real, they would start learning a whole new system for this rare event to get the pattern worked out.

Zeus wouldn't feel like MC needed to apologize - in fact, they had fun discovering this new side of MC.

Hermes: As someone who has medical knowledge and experience in the medical practice...Even they agree that dentistry sucks. But Hermes, while they would be pretty peeved about getting snapped at, is pretty up-to-date MC's state and understands the pain MC is in isn't their fault (that, and they know better than anyone that the snappy words MC said were out of the pain from the toothache, not from Hermes themselves). But mark my words, they'll be the ones to record MC being under loopy world from the dentist procedures of putting patients under anaesthesia with their phone and then show it to MC when they apologize to Hermes.

Dionysus: They'll be fretting so much - and also be sensitive with MC's mood, trying their best to not overstep anywhere. They would be the most comforting presence, but they'll also end up walking on eggshells around MC in fear of accidentally pissing them off. ^^"

Moment MC apologizes tho, Dionysus would relax and reassure MC that it's fine.

Ares: They're the most steady presence for MC but they're also not afraid of replying back to MC's snappy tone - just in a more of 'yes, dear, whatever you say' sort of manner (not in a careless one, but more like a spouse that's just so used to chaotic shit that this is their new normal XD) But Ares would go instinctive, protective mode of sorts - MC feels some discomfort? Ares tries to find out what's causing it then adjust it till MC is satisfied. MC's feeling dizzy? Ares ends up picking MC up to either let them rest on the bed or, if MC wants to, let them cuddle against them on Ares's lap.

Dolos: Huh...Kinda hard to picture how Dolos would do. Farthest I get is that they would already have things prepared, like they know MC just before MC asked - at least, stuff that's part of MC's routine/common choice of comfort/relief.

TSR

Maverick: Considering his ability to wield ice, he's the endless supply of ice packs for your swollen cheek! He'll personally tend to MC too - at least, until the staff had to convince him of the paperwork and stuff that's been piling up, which Maverick would work on it if it seems like he's suffocating MC a bit too much.

Rydigan: Unlike Maverick, he's gonna end up being attentive and maybe overprotective? I can picture MC being both exasperated but also nostalgic about Rydigan fretting over them.

Ittania: She'll help out if MC asks for it - not because she's uncaring (far from it!) but because she trusts MC to know what they need. Only time she'll put a hand in is if MC tries to do something that they shouldn't do in their condition - basically a limiter for them?

Enid: Hrm...She'll probs be pissed if the doctors try to do the procedure before the anaesthesia even kicked in, an amateur mistake since the House of Scales is known for having the best knowledge of medicines, including how long it takes for the anaesthesia to kick in for both susceptible or resistant to it. You can imagine her picking a fight with the doctors who's dumb enough to remove MC's wisdom tooth without the anaesthesia (even when MC tells her that it's not that bad, given how high MC's pain tolerance is).

Then...I guess she tries her best to care MC? (Tho she's pretty bad at this, so Ittania would take notice and try to help her when she can XD)

the gentle dialogue from the low volume of the tv makes him laugh, though you think he only he does that because there's this obnoxious laugh track that follows after a lame joke. albeit you smile at the sound of his baritone giggle, closing the door gently behind you.

you see his head pop up from the couch, the vibrant abstract of his happy socks padding across the floor once he sees you. he smiles brightly, opening his arms, and you meet him halfway.

he grunts when you gently tackle him with a hug, your arms around his torso, swaying gently. he presses his lips on the crown of your head, his warmth radiating through your cold body.

"hey, baby," joseph greets softly, pulling away but keeps his hands on your biceps. "how are you? how's your day?"

you swallow thickly, the words at the tip of your tongue. "i- it-it was good! um- uh, it was a bit b-boring and–"

his eyebrows raise. a silent go on.

you try to speak again. "um- they– were g- this is stupid,"

"hey, baby, no!" joseph bends down lightly, lips twisted into an empathetic pout. "come on, baby. it's not stupid. tell me, come on."

the words refuse to cooperate with your mouth, apparently. your lips clamp shut, hands clenching into a fist and bunches up his shirt. joseph senses your frustration and slowly brings his hands to your shoulders; eyes sympathetic rather than pitying, his lips into a frown.

when you sigh in irritation, removing a hand to place your wrist against your forehead, he speaks up. "you can do this, love. just rehearse it in your mind, yeah? gotta speak slowly so you can enunciate it better. can you try for me, baby?"

you refuse to meet his eyes, suddenly nervous with your cheeks burning in embarrassment. you stare at the button of his nose instead, focusing on the feeling of his hands that move to cup your jaw, and wonder how he's got this very long patience for you.

joseph's always too kind to you. and although he's like this with everyone, it leaves you lovestruck. it's a silly feeling that makes your belly swarm with butterflies to see how patient he is to hear you speak, how bright and happy he gets when you get through your stutter and tell him something that gets him just as excited as you are.

"i..." you look up at him, see his raised eyebrows, the curves on his forehead and the anticipation across his face that makes your heart warm. "my day was o-okay. i saw- i saw a stray dog outside. he- he's so cute, joey. he s-saw me, and his tail star- started wagging, right? a-and he made thes- these small whines and i j-just felt so bad not being a-able to give- give them some food,"

"and i w-was gonna ask if it's o-okay with you if w-we– we can take out some food for- for him?"

joseph smiles proudly, leaning in to press a kiss on your forehead; a long, doting one that singes beautifully against your skin. "atta baby. did well for me, yeah?" you giggle. "we can take food out for him, honey. give me your bag and i'll get my shoes, 'kay? then we can go visit the dog."

your heart aches, feeling proud of yourself for the success of finishing a sentence. but mostly because joseph's thrilled. his kiss tingles against your skin. and when he comes back from the bathroom, your bag gone and a pair of shoes that contrasts rather horrifyingly against his socks, your can't help but smile.

"let's go feed that dog, yeah?" he slings an arm around your shoulder, pressing his lips against your hair and pulling you closer to him. hips flush against one another. "now, why don't you go tell me more."

Reluctantly, you force your eyes open. Everything hurts. Your head, your eye sockets, your tounge, your throat... you truly feel like your body is made out of brick rather than bone. With a shaky hand you reach over and pick up your phone, and the contact on the screen brings the slightest bit of comfort to you.

'Tyunnie <3 calling...'

After pointing your phone camera towards the ceiling - since he called you on facetime and you really dont want to be seen in this state - you accept the call. Your screen quickly lights up with his pretty face ; sparkling eyes, soft hair, pursed lips.

"Babe?" Taehyun says, moving his head around as if it would give him a better view of the still image of your ceiling. "I can't see you?"

"Tyunnie..." you croak, cutting yourself off with a sniffle.

Immediately, his face softens.

"Sweetheart?" he starts. "Is something wrong?"

"Don't feel well..." you mutter, eyes brimming with tears. You know he probably can't come to you right now because of his schedule, and you hate being alone whilst you're sick. You've tried not to mention it to him yet, not wanting to make him feel bad for being unable to be with you.
