It’s a cool, rainy night in October when the doorbell rings.  “Goddamn it,” Katsuki curses, flipping off the stove and carefully moving the pan to a burner that isn’t on before he hustles to the door. He flings it open with a fury that would scare almost anyone on the receiving end of it. “What the fuck could you possibly–” The sight in front of him stops his words like water against a dam.   Izuku stands in the hallway, his gaze unseeing. He’s soaked from head to toe, even though a closed umbrella is clutched in his hand, and there’s a look on his face that will haunt Katsuki well beyond that night. A look that says he’s lost something that can never be replaced.  “Izuku?” Katsuki asks in a tone far gentler than most will ever hear from him, afraid that if he speaks too loudly, Izuku might bolt.  Izuku’s eyes focus at the sound of Katsuki’s voice and his mouth opens. His jaw works like he can’t quite fathom what he’s about to say. “Kacchan,” he says, and it’s so broken that Katsuki immediately wants to burn down the whole world for hurting him. He doesn’t care who it is. They all deserve to suffer. “It’s gone. T-the last of the embers…they’re–they’re gone.”

In case it's not clear enough: these pictures are COMPOSITES of official Sailor Moon artwork (pieces of multiple pictures by Naoko) and some lines added by me to patch it up, plus cleaning, adjusting the colors etc. It's a type of sketch for a more elaborate redraw I might do sometime.

MY WIPs

Thanks to @random-mailbox for tagging me with this suggestion to update current WIPs. I usually hesitate to mention of WIPs as I worry people are going to hound me about getting things done. Yet given how things are going, maybe a little hounding would help me get some more work done.

Anyways I'm currently working on:

Royal Affairs: I'm looking to have 2 different installments of this done at almost the same time. I'll space them out though. The titles of the entries are: "What happened last night" and "Another's scandal"

Choker of Love: The next installment will be called "Ramen, Old Friends, and The Return of Sailor V"

Captured Spy: My latest Jadiete and Sailor Mars fic is slowly coming together.

Doomed Slice of Heaven: A fic in another fandom but I'm not yet ready to announce this one. Let's just say it's a bit of a departure from my usual work.

Summary: Usagi’s little brother Shingo – now a teenager – is going out on his first date with someone but won’t tell her who the lucky person is. Naturally, that means Usagi and Mamoru must follow him on their own undercover date to the movies – for Shingo’s protection, of course. The fact that Usagi is tired of studying for her upcoming college entrance exams has absolutely nothing to do with it at all.

Naruto sits high on the walls of Konoha. He’s alone and his mind is heavy with the contents of the papers that sit in the inner breast pocket of his jacket.  He should be only sad today. His marriage is over. Done and burned to dust before it had turned five. But as he suddenly senses a presence close by, the smile that curls his lips is genuine.  “You can come out now, Sasuke,” he calls and barely counts to three before Sasuke flutters down to sit next to him, a flourish of black against an already dark sky.  Elegant bastard, Naruto thinks with more affection than he once knew it was possible to hold for a person.  Sasuke’s been back in the village for nearly a year now. It’s been simultaneously the best and worst year of Naruto’s life. Crazy how such opposite truths can exist in the same space.
