side comments: wanted to write for our Nanook and Yaoshi some spoilers of course, violence, Nanook's is kinda dark, reader is known to be the 'arbitrator' or 'mediator.

Whenever a tale, record or paper regarding the elusive and ancient Aeons of the vast cosmos, you, the Arbitrator always weave into each battle, dispute and archive.

You unified and ruled each contestation and difference and have lingered amongst the Aeons yet was never considered one yourself: like a fine mist braiding through the folds of the universe, unravelling and sewing it together.

And by 'it', you meant the Aeons.

While the Aeons were born and bound to the ideologies they arose from with a passionate frenzy, you merely existed- and for what purpose? Historians debated if you were a presence higher than that of Aeons: a mystic authoritarian figure whose one wave or snap of their fingers would bring an undisputed settlement, like a court judge.

However, others consider you to be less of a judge and more of a mediator. A force that ensures the Aeons keep within their bounds and do not screw the universe over entirely. Some reckon that you are an Aeon whose gaze never spared a glance. There are even theories that suggest that Lan is your pupil of sorts. In addition, some pay no mind to you at all in the grand ever-present scheme of Aeons and their ploys.

Regardless of what myriad debates, theories or conjectures rise among devout followers, skeptics, historians and the average being, an indisputable fact remains. No matter the conflict, you are always found amongst the lines in the story or perhaps only mentioned at the very end. A peculiar and reiterating occurrence that even a child could predict.

Alas, only the Aeons themselves will know who you are to them

𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐊 - the destruction

Nanook believes you are a nuisance at best. However, you choose your disputes carefully and at times, unpredictably.

Out of every Aeon you have come between, Nanook is by far the one seen most often.

Behind your back, they scoff at mentioning of your name and title and more so at the Aeons who share an ounce of respect for your inexplicable ability or deem you a 'peacemaker'.

However, your trait of never showing favour towards one Aeon or another is like a double-edged sword.

Nanook could hardly recount the myriad amount of times they had benefited from your mediation.

What dumbfounds Nanook is that beings think of you as powerful.

You quite frankly aren't, you're simply a 'good talker.'

And they loathe that.

You know their mind and toy with it, rendering with their plans only for them to alter it. You thrive on their vexations and revel in the might of their aggravation and disgust. Instead of annihilating sparks of life, you force them to cherish it within the palms of their savage hands.

Do you find pleasure in their abhorrence? Seeking it out for laughter's sake?

Nevertheless, Nanook knows you are not shallow or in any resemblance towards Aha.

In addition, Nanook knows you are neither a peacemaker nor a chaos-bringer.

There are moments when you come to Nanook and observe them acutely; having experienced your prying eyes for millennia, they remain steadfast and silent in your presence. Only then can Nanook appreciate you, not for your skill, however, for a delectable and insatiable opportunity to deliver their final gift to humanity: destruction.

For now, Nanook will reign havoc on the planets you grow fond of while quietly vying for a sliver of your attention in hopes of ultimately standing victorious in the eternal game of interastral tug of war.

Perhaps Nanook will then adore you for all the delight you brought to a now, empty universe.

𝐘𝐀𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 - the abundance

Yaoshi believes you are in mortal terms: ‘god sent.’

In comparison to Nanook, Yaoshi does not harbour ill will.

On the contrary, they are fascinated by you.

Why do you come between the Aeons? Do you have preferences? What pleases you?

Yes, there are times when you settle disputes and foil the plans of The Abundance. However, it does not matter! Yaoshi will continue to spread the blessings of eternal life and never-ending spings out into the universe while they watch you from afar.

However, the Aeons are selfish, cunning and self-absorbed. They will gladly swallow any opportunity that comes their way. Hence, Yaoshi's 'curiosity' grows beyond the confines of the word itself.

If you can thwart the plans of Nanook- what else can you do?

Yaoshi admires the growth and sprouting of life from their fingertips: how a flower blossoms vibrantly, staying in said form for eternity.

Thus, Yaoshi can only lick their lips and quell their ever-growing hunger.

What wonder would it be to see you bloom and bring waves of life with a mere sway of your arms or snap of your finger? Worlds can be born and no harm shall tread upon the universe- such a reality can now be achieved...

For now, Yaoshi will whisper sweet words of praise in your ear like honey; gradually drowning you in each sugary drop until they can dress you up in whatever they may fancy. You'll be the star of the universe, you'll be the epitome of ardency and everlasting life. Worshiped and praised: the universe will string together songs of your benevolence!

Alas, Yaoshi must limit their daydreaming... work must be done to accomplish their ultimate dream and it has only just begun.

The New Epoch is Coming

Humanity has entered a new epoch on January 1, 2018.

Thoughts of the new epoch originate at the zero point of the twenty parallel worlds. It was born in Africa, developed in Asia, and is maturing in North America. The work of theory building and the experiments into the new life mode are almost complete and will become the guiding thoughts and life mode of humanity for the next millennia.

The birth of this new epoch will bring an end to the consciousness of the old era and will change the current life and production modes of human society drastically. It will bring humans into an epoch in which:

“All thoughts and beliefs will be unified into the Greatest Creator’s will, and all religions will be unified into one belief system”.

“The talented will be put to their best use, and the whole world will be one family”.

“No one will pocket anything found on the ground and doors will not need to be bolted at night”.

Once you enter into this new epoch, you will be far removed from the traditional abyss of misery and you will not be misled or fettered by the old world view, life values or universe values. The mist surrounds your heart will disappear.

You will see a whole new world, and your life will be directed onto a track of happiness, joy, and freedom.

You will be walking into the gate of heaven and embarking on a new journey that will last for a thousand years, thirty five thousand years, or even billions of years.

In order to help humans to understand the meaning of this new epoch, some angels will present the new thoughts and visions through a series of videos. This video channel is called “The New Epoch”, and by following it, your vibration frequency will gradually align with the consciousness of the universe and your consciousness level will rise to above five hundred. You will then become an angel as called in western culture or a celestial or buddha in oriental culture.

Deiform Buddha is the messenger of the greatest creator of the universe, and he is the incarnation of gods, Buddha, celestial beings, and saints. He is also the messenger, the “supervisor soul” from northwest China mentioned by the “Boy from Mars” – Boriska Kipriyanovich.

What I knew going in: not a goddamn thing

Y’all. I truly suffer for my art. This was a miserable mess of a movie to sit through. I tried to read descriptions to figure out what it was about and I still couldn’t get it-because it’s about everything and nothing.

A documentary that opens with stark footage of cows going down the chute to be slaughtered (you can literally feel the cows fear, and you’re forced to watch as they freak out and try to turn around in the too narrow chute and see their bodies fall through a gap at the bottom of the door of the murder room--I wanted to turn it off right then and there but it’s one of those “you participate in the system so you shouldn’t be able to turn your face away from it” things) that purports to be about how all “earthlings” are linked.

It starts out with a long litany of atrocities committed by humans. Wars, human rights violations, animal cruelty, torture, murder, genocide, ETC. Really makes you feel good about being alive. And then it goes off on a tangent about how the reason humans are so much unhealthier than every other animal species is because we eat meat and dairy and that these foods are poisoning us not just physically but spiritually and mentally as well. (The propaganda pivot.) And THEN it goes into how the solution to it all is to not judge anything or claim anything or have any identity or ownership over anything or thoughts of your own and just be UNIFIED with everything. Because that’s so easy to achieve. And because we didn’t just spend the first half of the film judging the shit out of all of humanity.

The veganism propaganda aside, I think this movie might ham-handedly be going after the message that the The Good Place got to much more effectively--about how fucking hard (read: impossible) it is to make ethical choices in our current interconnected capitalist hellscape of a system. But me believing that Hitler, a new born puppy, and I are all the same because we’re all “earthlings” doesn’t really seem like it’s going to do anything for the world.

This felt like a movie my high school Theory of Knowledge teacher would have made us watch (probably right after What The Bleep Do We Know) and it would have somehow made me hate that class even more than I already did.

The Grimoire of Marisa - Pages 1-7

In a world without rules, danmaku would be nonsense.

Foreword

The stars that shoot through the night sky, the butterflies that dance to the scent of flowers, the water that flows seeking lower altitudes, and the deep, dark mist.

All natural phenomena have some sort of reason behind their occurrence. Humans created reasoning in order to explain these very phenomena.

And so, every phenomenon that could be observed would therefore belong to the human race... supposedly.

Naturally occurring phenomena were explained differently throughout various places. Humans, being fond of unified theories, would thus come to believe that all but one, or perhaps even all forms of reasoning were false.

However, the youkai think like this: all observations, all the phenomena that occur in the world, and all forms of reasoning behind them are true. This is precisely because youkai themselves were born from natural phenomena and the thoughts people have about them.

I happened to see a tengu's notebook once. The notebook was full of writing by the tengu, detailing all the events of the world around us.

It described all the most insignificant bits of daily life, from a completely different point of view from mine. The tengu's observational skills were sharp; it seemed as if she had already transcended the world that I comprehend, and was building another all of her own.

Even if it's just insignificant everyday events, writing everything down ought to let me see something new. As I thought that, I decided to compile a book of what I thought had become the everyday scenery of my life --- Spell Cards.

Although I have to recall memories far older than the time that I saw the tengu's notebook, I may be able to acquire hints for new magic by writing them down.

From that train of thought, this book was born. It is the only danmaku grimoire in Gensokyo that a human has ever written. I'm not just copying Alice and the grimoires she writes. Honest.

I want to become able to use more magic. No, I plan to become more able. I will eventually be known as a great magician.

I won't spare any effort needed for that purpose, and I hope this book will be another step in obtaining that goal.

Well, if it doesn't, I'll just name it something big an' fancy like "The Fantasy Danmaku Image Compendium" and pawn it off to a library for a high price, so it'd be OK either way...

Frozen 2 & Zutara : The theory

,Well, after watching Disney movie Frozen 2, I realized many things that could fit like cinderella’s slipper to our lovely ship. First of all, we know that Athohallan was a place where people could bend the elements, thanks of the spirits, and Elsa might as qeell serve as the avatar. But that is another analysis, for now, we’ll stick for zutara. 

We got two towns: Arendelle and Athohallan, separated by a mist, no one was able to get in or out. Like: the fire nation and the SWT. Separated by a war. 

As we go deeper in Frozen’s 2 story, we see that Anna and Elsa’s grandfather betrayed Nortuldra’s chief. Both towns became enemies, and we got a point because all people from Nortuldra still have some rancour against them, even after being locked up for 34 years you can difference who is from each town, no mixing at all.  We also see a thing that isn’t supposed to be there, for Nortuldra is the water dam that represented the King’s treason and for that reason their chief was murdered. For the SWT would be the war ship, wich represented the raids and how little by litte, water benders where exterminated. 

At first, the people of Nortuldra don’t trust the foreigners, just like we would see how an initial mistrust between the two avatar countries would be like. But then, Elsa discovers the truth, “truth is what will give us freedom” And Anna, knew that the water dam had to be destroyed in order to keep peace and save both worlds. 

Much like what happened when Katara confronted Yhon Rha, she gave herself freedom when she met him again. And like Anna and Elsa, Zuko went against his people recognizing that he needed to confront and face them (principally his family) to have balance and peace. When Anna was disposed to sacrifice herself for the water dam, was much what Zuko did, sacrificing his life for a girl who was the “enemy”. 

Also, this things are what make the two worlds accept each other completely. Elsa as the protector of the forest and 5th element and Anna as the new queen . The war getting ended and Zuko being Fire Lord. (Who tecnically in normal circumstances would never have reached the throne). Everything below was a choice, the character themselves faced this stuff alone. 

This whole analysis comes because everyone says: No, Katara and Zuko’s familiy would never accept them being a couple. Is that so? 

Imagine, how Hakoda couldn’t accept Zuko? Being he, who helped Katara get a closure for her mother? Being he, the boy who sacrificed his life to save his daughter? How could Iroh couldn’t accept Katara? When she was the one who helped his nephew face him after the big betrayal? Also she saved Zuko’s life too... I’m 100% sure he needed more than one healing session. 

Next... Nope... The Fire Nation and SWT would never approve of that. Well... at first, yes with mistrust and rancour, but then , as they saw the real interaction, the doubt would start to disappear. Wow... commerce and peace treaties? Development in public health?

This gets us to the final point. Elsa being part of Nortuldra and people accepting her as she es because she has proven herself, and it was the sisters’ love who  brought together Nortuldra and Arendelle once more. 

This is the exact thing that sets and argument against zutara: How Katara could be the Queen of the country that almost aniquilates her tribe and killed her mother? It would be a betrayal (Almost like: how the villagers from Nortuldra could accept Elsa as her protector and part of them since is was Elsa’s grandfather who murdered their chief and  enraged the spirits?) This is the answer: because two personas can unify them, two persons can demostrate that being from a different country that initially hasn’t good terms can reach peace.

The union between the SWT and the Fire Nation represents the power of maturity, or overcoming adversities and forgiveness. And like Anna said “Our lands and people, now connected by love.

INT. L.A.P.D. STATION - CRIME LAB - NIGHT

Dave cautiously pokes his head into the crime lab, with Rhea following close behind.

DAVE: ...Hello?

REBECCA: Dave? What are you doing here so late?

Dave visibly relaxes when he sees Rebecca, Nikhil, Reza, and Mirasol all working late, with not a hint of Captain Beckham to be found. A familiar small furball--the dog from the trailer park--sits curled up at Rebecca’s feet. Dave and Rhea walk into the lab.

DAVE (shrugs): I could ask you the same question. Beckham isn’t here, is she?

NIKHIL: That question is never followed with a sensible, rational suggestion, is it...

MIRASOL: What he means to say is that, no, Beckham isn’t here.

REZA: Wait, let me guess: you’ve hit upon some grand, unifying clue, some theory to tie all of this together that will solve our case in--

He catches sight of Rhea, and immediately falters in his speech.

REZA: Er... I mean... you know, we could fix all our problems if... uh...

The others all laugh.

MIRASOL: Ah, the traditional awkwardness of a man smitten with love for--

REZA (blushing furiously): Mirasol!

Dave steps forward and sets his collection of clues onto the desk, just in time to save Reza and Rhea from any further embarrassment. The dog looks up curiously.

PUPPY: Mrrr?

NIKHIL: ...What’s all this?

DAVE: Everything I’ve got on the Tull case.

REBECCA: Never mind me, then. I’ll just keep working on my case... you know, the one we were supposed to be doin’ together...

DAVE: Come on, Rebecca. You know I’d still be working with you if it weren’t for Beckham--

REBECCA: I know. It’s just... (sighs) Forget I said anything. Just focus on Tull. The sooner you catch him, the sooner you can get back to helping me out.

She leans down and scratches the dog behind his ears. The dog murmurs contentedly.

DAVE: Look, I’m tryin’ to do exactly that! And speaking of which...

Nikhil picks up the patch and examines it curiously.

NIKHIL: I assume this is the part where you elaborate further on all of this?

He sets the patch down and looks at the notepad, pushing it toward Nikhil.

DAVE: The patch came from Tull’s jacket; the rest of it was from his trailer. Any chance you could restore the top page of that notepad?

NIKHIL (incredulously): Surely you’re joking. (beat) Give me five minutes.

He takes the notepad and swivels his chair back toward his workstation, passing the pad underneath a device next to his computer.

REZA: That looks like it’ll take a while. I have to say, Dave, I’m noticing a particular someone’s absence from tonight. What happened to Sam?

Dave sighs and puts his head in his hands. Reza and Rhea share a look.

MIRASOL: ...Wow. That bad?

RHEA: It’s kinda complicated. But the short version is: Beckham kicked her off the case.

DAVE: Yeah. Because of me.

MIRASOL: Yes, of course. The self-flagellation that is characteristic of inwardly-directed guilt, common in those with--

RHEA: Mirasol! Not the time!

MIRASOL (genuinely confused): What? I was only offering a useful psychoanalysis that may prove--

Rhea gives her a look. Mirasol relents.

MIRASOL: Though now that I think about it, this may not have been the best time.

REZA: ...So! Back to Tull.

He picks up the photograph.

REZA: Any idea who these people might be?

MIRASOL: Hmm. They look too different from one another to be family. A community of some kind?

REZA: I can run facial recognition!

As he does so, Mirasol’s attention turns to the patch.

MIRASOL: Can’t say I recognize this symbol. Looks eerie, though. Like some kind of... well, I hate to make assumptions, but--

RHEA: Looks like a cult symbol to me.

MIRASOL: Huh. You’re pretty smart! That’s exactly what I was thinking!

RHEA (shrugs): Just a guess.

MIRASOL: Well, guess or no, I’m impressed. The way these lines arc... it’s clearly some indication of a higher power, which gives off the immediate impression of a cult of some kind, but...

As Mirasol talks, Rebecca stands up from her chair and crosses the room, with the dog trotting along behind her.

REBECCA (muttering): I need some coffee, stat. Seriously--

She stops talking immediately as she notices the symbol on the patch.

REBECCA: Wait. Dave, Mirasol... where did you find that patch?!

Mirasol glances at Dave, who shrugs.

DAVE: Tore a piece off of Tull’s jacket in a fight. This thing was on the inside. Why?

REBECCA: I know that symbol.

Everyone except Nikhil stares at her.

REBECCA: This is the symbol of the “Finem Servis.” They’re a cult based out of the Cascades... and honestly, that’s about all I know so far.

DAVE: Wait, you’ve seen this symbol before?!

REBECCA: Yep, believe it or not. It’s popped up a bunch of times in Everett Rourke’s personal files. Apparently, he had some kind of association with them in the past, but as far as I can tell, he’s an enemy of this cult now.

Dave and the others exchange a glance with Rebecca, all coming to the realization that this mystery runs far deeper than they had thought.

DAVE: Hold on. So, then, these people have to be...

He holds up the photograph. Rhea and Rebecca gasp in realization.

RHEA: Other cult members. It’s gotta be--

NIKHIL: And... got it!

Nikhil suddenly swivels around in his chair, brandishing the notepad triumphantly and interrupting the others.

NIKHIL: Tull wrote something on the torn page! “Lara.” Big, scrawled letters too, almost as if--

DAVE: Wait, “L.A.R.A.?” As in, the big celeb charity ball happening tonight, L.A.R.A.?

NIKHIL: Erm... I can assume so, at least--

DAVE (frantic): Rhea, Rebecca, get yourselves dressed up and meet me at the gala, quick! We’ve got a pop star to save!

Probably everyone in the TR with the al prefix is descended from *someone* in Manetheren, except, y'know, Rand, who's adopted. King Aemon was Aemon al Caar al Thorin, and we still have al'Caars and at least one al'Thor. The feminine equivalent ay prefix does not seem to have been maintained - although maybe Aybara?. I suspect Nynaeve's surname, al'Meara, might be matronymic in origin, but it's impossible to say for sure, and not likely to be relevant in any case.

The show implies that the persistence of the Old Blood in Manetheren might be related to whatever happened when Eldrene like, exploded, but there's nothing in the books that really corroborates that. We do know that the Winespring is supposed to have emerged in the spot where Eldrene did her thing, and that the water there is described as "sweet" which could mean anything from "has a low mineral content" to "contains a small amount of deuterium", with the latter potentially implying that when Eldrene went nuclear she literally went nuclear. The latter is supported by the following pieces of otherwise unconnected information: living too close to the Mountains of Mist is seen as bad luck (so is digging in the Sand Hills), at least one Forsaken makes reference to the possibility of a stasis box or other cool stuff in Manetheren but no one ever checks it out, almost the references Thom makes in EotW to establish that this is the far future of our own world are from the Cold War (although this could as easily be attributed to EotW coming out in 1990), Two Rivers cats have six toes (making me very curious whether they would change color if you took them into the old city).

Nuclear Manetheren theories aside, mostly, I don't think we can rule out the possibility that there is literally something in the water, or that there's some kind of ter'angreal or pre AoL magic doohickey influencing this. We know there are other ter'angreal with persistent effects over a large area (Domon references a giant metal spike that anyone who gets within a mile of it dies - I do wonder if the spike might be a message and part of a system of messages, if you know what I mean). And I stg there has to be a ter'angreal somewhere keeping everyone speaking the same language, because "Oh, it's the continuity of the White Tower" barely explains the Aiel or the Seanchan, and doesn't begin to explain the Sharans or the Sea Folk. (Nor does it explain why, given that the Tower was founded mostly by Aes Sedai who were born in the AoL, everyone isn't still speaking the Old Tongue). At an absolutely wild guess, I would hazard that one of the unifying ta'varen, Mabriam, maybe, or Hawkwing, got something from the Aelfinn to accomplish this.

My only other theory is that Aemon's line, and probably others in Manetheren, have some kind of genetic memory thing going on, arranged by the same kind of Age of Legends genetic engineering that produced the Aiel's aggressively dominant genes for height and coloring.

Oh, this part definitely completely flew over my head when I first read the book. Egwene is also descended from Aemon’s line and technically has the ability to access the memories of their lives - this means 3/5 of the E5 are canonically haunted lol. This also means Mat AND Egwene were pushed aside to give Perrin the Manetheren plotline.

Also. What is up with Aemon’s line and why do its descendants have access to their ancestors’ memories?

Litten, Torracat and Incineroar

I have a little personal conjecture about how Incineroar was designed.

Game Freak deeply, sincerely, earnestly didn’t mean to make a fourth Fire/Fighting starter Pokémon.  They were just going to sit down and come up with some unique, entertaining and vaguely Hawaiian-inspired Fire-type.  But then Incineroar just rose up, unbidden, out of the primal mists of Game Freak’s collective id, embedded himself in their tortured psyches, and refused to leave.  Aware that they were making another Fire/Fighting starter Pokémon, but horrified by their inability to stop, they desperately called on Yveltal for help, and the vicious and cunning death god answered their prayers by corrupting Incineroar into a brutal Dark-type.

I mean, obviously some of that is speculative, but I think the general outline is close.

Litten, Torracat and Incineroar are our Alolan Fire-type starter Pokémon line.  As Fire-type cat Pokémon they are a little in danger of being a sequel to generation VI’s Litleo and Pyroar, but fortunately their final stage, Incineroar, takes a very different direction.  Litten is a kitten whose oily fur is highly flammable, causing him to hawk up flaming hairballs.  That’s… a bit of a weird fighting style, but at least an elegant way of bringing the Fire element to a cat Pokémon, so we’ll call it a win.  Likewise, instead of shedding hair all over the place, Litten just sets all his fur on fire and burns it up in seconds (something I occasionally wish my cat could do).  Litten’s notoriously withdrawn and standoffish nature is appropriately cattish as well, and possibly meant to anticipate his eventual evolution into a Dark-type.  That progresses to a highly aggressive, but simultaneously petulant, attitude in Torracat (again, not unlike a bad-tempered housecat…).  Torracat’s most distinctive physical feature is the little fiery bell at his throat, actually his fire-producing organ, which makes a ringing sound when Torracat uses his powers.  Presumably this mimics the bells that cat owners sometimes give their pets to warn off prey, which I suppose constitutes another interesting way of manifesting Torracat’s Fire type.  It’s unfortunate that it doesn’t go anywhere, though; Incineroar loses the bell for a flaming navel and fiery belt.  I would have liked it if Torracat’s bell somehow manifested in Incineroar’s wrestler design as the bell that rings between rounds of a wrestling match; it seems like a really good opportunity to unify the design that was missed.  There are a lot of cat Pokémon now (Meowth in two regional forms, Skitty, Shinx, Glameow, Purrloin, Litleo, Espurr…) and to be honest Litten and Torracat don’t do enough on their own to convince me that we needed another, but it’s Incineroar who was tasked with taking this design in a new direction.  So let’s talk about that.

Incineroar has the species designation “the Heel Pokémon,” which makes pretty clear that we’re dealing with the evil counterpart to Hawlucha – a Pokémon based on a villainous persona from the world of professional wrestling.  Incineroar comes from a similar masked wrestler tradition to Hawlucha, where a mask is supposed to give you a whole new identity to fight under, and you fight for the honour of that identity (often a totemic animal).  Incineroar, as a villainous version of this idea, is not only a jerk, but ostentatiously a jerk, specifically going out of his way to be destructive and chaotic, just as a heel is supposed to.  I’ve seen people specifically locate Incineroar’s inspiration with one Japanese wrestler in particular – or rather, one masked persona, used by five wrestlers over the years: Tiger Mask.  And at first I was sceptical, but the deeper I go down this particular rabbit hole the more I think he probably is iconic enough in Japanese pop culture to actually be referenced by a Pokémon design (besides, according to the WWE website “it would be difficult to overstate [his] influence,” and I try not to question heavily-muscled men in capes and speedos).  The only problem is that Tiger Mask is emphatically not a heel.  The wrestling persona was originally inspired by a 1968 manga, where the character was a Japanese wrestler who had played heel in the United States and turned “face” when he returned home, but the real-world Tiger Mask has always been a heroic character, as have his anime adaptations (because of course there is a Tiger Mask anime; there was even a reboot last year).  There is a corresponding heel character called the Black Tiger, who has a red-and-black colour scheme in the anime, but he doesn’t seem to be as well known, and also the wrestler was arrested for drug smuggling back in 2012 (this is the kind of trivia I just know now; SEND HELP).  Anyway, if you were going to create a Pokémon that paid homage to the Tiger Mask mythos, why go for the derivative villain rather than the iconic hero?  Something about it doesn’t quite ring true – and kinda brings me back to my (only partly tongue-in-cheek) introduction.

I had a whole debate with Jim the Editor over what Incineroar’s type should be, because his feeling is that it doesn’t make sense for this Pokémon not to be a Fighting-type, that Incineroar’s Dark-type traits are secondary to – dependent on – his Fighting-type traits; as a heel wrestler, he can’t be a villain without first being a martial artist.  He’s typed wrong, and this is a blemish on the design.  My counterargument was that the concept of a heel involves an element of theatricality that you could say makes them primarily villains and only secondarily fighters (i.e. pro wrestling is fake; fite me irl).  I’m also inherently disposed to liking this line of reasoning because I have a pre-existing idea that one of the characteristic traits of Fighting Pokémon is that they are supposed to be honourable, so it actually makes a great deal of sense for an ostentatiously villainous Pokémon like Incineroar to be specifically excluded from the type.  Having said that, “Fighting = Honour” isn’t exactly an obvious inference from any official source, and doesn’t fit all Fighting Pokémon (i.e. f#&%ing Primeape), so if you don’t particularly buy into my personal brand of nonsense, Fire/Fighting is arguably a better fit than Fire/Dark for Incineroar – probably because they started from “wrestler” and then looked for ways to justify a type other than Fire/Fighting, rather than actually starting from an idea that was demonstrably Fire/Dark.  Jim the Editor’s suggestion for such an idea, to be submitted here to the court of public opinion, was to have Incineroar be a sort of arsonist/con artist, starting fires outside to draw attention and lure people out of their homes while gangs of Litten and Torracat plunder all their stuff (Incineroar could easily pull off a sort of circus strongman or ringmaster look that would be appropriate to this concept with only minor physical changes).  Litten in this scheme could then be street performers and pickpockets, which gives them a more interesting identity too.  Feel free to heap scorn on this idea in the comments, lest Jim get a swelled head.  That’s enough on the design and flavour side, though; I should get on with how Incineroar works.

Incineroar is a physical tank in the tradition of Ursaring or Machamp: you’re slow and can’t avoid hits, but in theory you can survive them long enough to hit back.  This is an odd thing for a Fire Pokémon to be, and arguably the only pre-generation VII Pokémon who can even do it are Emboar and Arcanine (no, Magcargo and Torkoal, you do not count), so we’re in a field with little competition.  His hidden ability is Intimidate, which would be a wonderful thing for a Pokémon like this to have (or, well, almost any Pokémon to have; a free attack debuff every time you switch in is just really good), but alas, for the moment this is not to be, so we’ll have to make do with the generic Fire-type starter ability, Blaze.  Incineroar has a really solid selection of attacks; in addition to his Dark-type signature moves, he gets Flare Blitz, Earthquake and Cross Chop, all powerful attacks that threaten an excellent variety of types.  Outrage is interesting, but probably not recommended; Dragon attacks have great neutral type coverage, but that’s not one of Incineroar’s flaws anyway, and they hit almost nothing super-effectively (not to mention that being locked into Outrage can stop being fun abruptly).  For some reason, Incineroar can learn Leech Life, which Sun and Moon buffed into a surprisingly solid attack, and honestly, health drain is probably quite a good thing for a Pokémon with Incineroar’s stat profile to have.  Alternatively, U-Turn is also on offer as a source of Bug-type damage and tactical flexibility; it does less damage, but Incineroar isn’t short of power moves anyway, and being able to tank an attack for the Pokémon you’re switching in is a decent use of Incineroar’s bulk.  Swords Dance is there too, to send his attack stat into the stratosphere, but bear in mind that Incineroar is just not fast enough to sweep anything.  It really hurts in general that he’s so slow, and that Fire/Dark is not a great defensive combination: Fire attacks are great; being weak to Rock, Water and Ground is decidedly not, and Dark adds a nasty Fighting weakness to boot.

If you are inclined to buck Fire Pokémon stereotypes and push the defensive, tanky side of Incineroar, there are some support options that he can take for that, although it is maybe a bit of a waste of his excellent physical attack stat.  Will’o’Wisp is nice because burns cripple physical attackers, and doubly nice if we can eventually get Intimidate on him.  Taunt can stop support Pokémon from messing with you, but again, his poor speed hurts; you ideally want Taunt on a fast Pokémon that can actually anticipate and counter a support move, not just shut them down after the fact.  Bulk Up might be interesting, especially in combination with Will’o’Wisp or Leech Life; Incineroar is already far from a pushover defensively, so if your opponent seems to be missing special attackers that can easily take him out, there might be some merit to going all in on buffs.  Body Slam is nicely thematic, and being able to paralyse opponents is good for Incineroar and probably for the rest of your team too; it’s just unfortunate that Normal attacks are terrible.  In an entirely different vein, you could try to turn him into a sort of bastardised surprise physical sweeper by speeding him up with Flame Charge.  It’s no Agility, and the move itself is so weak that you do pretty much have to pack a second Fire attack (there’s no room for, say, Swords Dance), but if you play your hand close to your chest you might be able to confuse someone to death in the late game.  Finally, Incineroar does get Nasty Plot, with a passable selection of special attacks (Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat with Dark Pulse and Focus Blast), but unlike Decidueye his base special attack score is average at best, so the very most I would suggest is putting Overheat on a physical attacker set to maybe surprise a physical wall (bonus points if you make a Z-move out of it).

Because Incineroar is a pro wrestler, and pro wrestlers have a love for signature moves that goes beyond all logic and common sense, he has not one, but two: Darkest Lariat and Throat Chop.  Of these, Darkest Lariat is the one you generally want.  It’s actually one of the strongest Dark-type attacks in the game, though I should stress that this isn’t saying much, since Dark has no really high-powered attacks.  Darkest Lariat helpfully ignores defence and evasion bonuses, and until recently I might have written that off as mostly useful for screwing with the AI, since defence and evasion buffs aren’t common in competitive games.  Specifically in doubles, though, Darkest Lariat does have the peculiar advantage of beating the living $#!t out of the infamous Infinite Defence Palossand (of course, Palossand also has Ground attacks to blow up Incineroar, but it’s something).  The other signature move is Throat Chop, and this is much more niche.  It’s slightly less powerful than Darkest Lariat, and has the unusual effect of disabling the target’s sonic attacks by striking them in the windpipe.  There aren’t a lot of powerful or common sound moves, so Throat Chop is mostly useful against a few Normal-type special attackers, like Exploud and Pyroar, who use Hyper Voice as a major source of damage.  However, I do find it really amusing that Throat Chop can quite badly screw over Incineroar’s Water-type counterpart, Primarina, by disabling her Sparkling Aria.  In practice you still wouldn’t choose to take that fight as Incineroar, because Primarina might just have a different Water attack, but it’s interesting that the designers built in this little reversal of the standard Grass-Fire-Water starter dynamic.  As far as I can tell, Decidueye doesn’t have any similar thematic advantage over Incineroar, nor Primarina over Decidueye.

I’m not as convinced by Litten, Torracat and Incineroar overall as I am by Rowlet, Dartrix and Decidueye.  They have the same sudden, fairly radical shift to a different sort of design at the third stage that I noticed in Dartrix, but it doesn’t quite fit as well – there isn’t really anything tiger-like about Incineroar (tigers being famously ambush hunters), probably because he’s tiger-via-masked-wrestler, but then again, Hawlucha’s the same thing, and her human and animal inspirations do slot together a bit better because of the focus of lucha libre on “aerial” moves.  And… well, to be honest, the whole “slow physical bruiser” thing just hasn’t been a great game plan for most Pokémon who’ve tried it in the past; Emboar has never been especially prominent, and Incineroar is trying to do something fairly similar.  I mean, there’s nothing I think is especially poorly done here, but not a lot that excites me.  I’m calling this one a solid meh-out-of-ten.

Parallels: Ex-SJWs and Ex-Christians

Ex-Christians have far from a unified experience with leaving their former faith. In some cases, they choose to leave Christianity because they’ve grown disillusioned with the attitude of the Christian community. In other cases, they choose to leave Christianity because they could no longer suppress their misgivings over certain Christian doctrines (such as the belief in hell, which was the case with me). Others yet choose to leave not based on any sort of emotional turmoil - but, rather, based on logic and reasoning. As a result, they might not always see eye-to-eye regarding issues with their former faith.

The other thing that prevents ex-Christians from being a unified community is exactly how they devout and/or militant they were at the peak of their Christian involvement. I think that’s much the same case with ex-SJWs.

People who were militant vitriolic SJWs may become militant vitriolic anti-SJWs!! People who were a genderbitch or a racismschool at the peak of their SJW involvement are very likely to become a triggeredmedia as an anti-SJW. This is, yet, another example of where horseshoe theory comes into play.

As for me... Well, even during the peak of my involvement in the SJW community, I’ve always had misgivings with regard to some of the more toxic elements of the movement - but, for quite some time, I tried my best to suppress those feelings. After all, I didn’t wanna be branded a “tone policing oppressor”. I didn’t make the big break, though, until I myself became victim of the more toxic faction of the SJ community. Rather than go into detail here, I suggest doing a Google search on the following: “luvsavengedsevenfold” (old personal URL), “blues-sevenfold” (current URL), and “call out”. That should give you some sort of idea of what I’ve endured.

Even after making my final break from the SJW community, I felt as if I had nowhere to go. Joining up with the anti-SJWs was definitely out of the question, as I myself was ruthlessly mocked by them for this post. At no point in that post was I advocating bullying other people - and, in fact, that post was advocating just the opposite. All in all, I was disgusted that neither SJWs nor anti-SJWs were categorically opposed to being mean to other people. I was seen too much “lol white tears” from one side and “lol triggered” from the other side.

So, in short, it does bother me that we don’t seem to have the same kind of major support group that SJWs and anti-SJWs seemingly have (at least, until people step out of line). There are some very helpful blogs, such as @ex-sjw-resource - but it’s kind of hard to find that sort of nuance in the mist of having one side shouting “privileged tone-policing oppressor” at you, and the other side shouting “butthurt thin-skinned snowflake” at you. People should stop copping this black-and-white mentality - and acting as if calls for civility, politeness, and understanding in discourse is some sort of weakness - as if it means you “lack conviction” in your beliefs, or something along those lines.

To focus, means to select a thing, or perhaps a question, and empty space upon which to hang one's attention. But to focus also means to exclude, ignore everything else. If one cannot ignore other voices, a drives, a needs, one will find it hard to focus. However, the trick of thinking, is involvement, of drives, of voices, of stimuli. If one focuses to well on the thought one has in a moment, it will not be able to involve the memories, experience, ideas, that are presently excluded from it, in the process of focusing on it. The secret to thinking, then, is have permeable focus; to be able to hold an idea, but also to allow it to evolve, by involving that which is relevant to it, while also keeping out anything that would undermine the thought, that which is distracting, irrelevant, or plain false. But how can we seek out what experience is relevant to a present idea, without leaving the idea? One of the primary ways we have learned to do this is through logic: logic allows thinking to occur without bleeding any focus, insofar as it moves directly from premises to conclusion without ever taking a leap outside of the idea, without trying the idea against the chaos of the totality of that which is excluded from it. Logical syllogism is form of thought which utterly excludes chaos, and allows for navigation of language that never leaves the tracks. The difficulty with logic however is exactly what makes it powerful: it must stay in the tracks, namely the habits and conventions of language, and the more it operates here, the more entrenched it becomes on these tracks. The more logical one is, more difficult it is to expose oneself to the chaos outside of language, because one's focus is contained by the tracks, there is less and less attention bleed from language as it is plainly understood into the chaos outside of it, and so before long, logic becomes an attention trap. Real thinking is different. Logic is just a habit, a track long ago set out by someone having real thoughts, which were not on any tracks at all, blazing a trail which has now become so worn and used that we cease to see a world beyond the tracks, a world where real thinking might occur. Real, or dynamic thinking is not logical, in fact it is by its very nature irrational, at least with respect to the established and entrenched logic, with respect to the tracks it has slipped off of, into the wild. Normally thinking happens on a spectrum between peripheral awareness and a focal point. To have a focal point means to exclude peripheral awareness, and to have peripheral awareness means to let all focal points dissolve and allows ones experience and memory strike one, as a whole, undifferentiated. Thinking occurs by an oscillation between these two, collecting from peripheral awareness and adding to one's focal point. However, this oscillatory form of thought has a weakness: as memory builds up year after year, it becomes an unmanageably large resource. We combat this by compressing raw memory into generalizations, rules of thumb, theories about things, but then even our theories begin to build up and we eventually find ourselves lost in thought, lost in memory, as our own memories overwhelm our exposure to the real, to the world outside us. We lose ourselves in ourselves. So we need a new way of thinking, one that is not an oscillation, one that takes the spectrum of focus and peripheral awareness as a single entity. We need to master a state of mind which does not move back and forth between these, but holds them together in consciousness, a form of thinking which does not give up on one to have the other. Distraction occurs when one, looking for something to add to ones current idea, becomes lost in the search, the original idea dissolving back into the mist. This is what happens when the mind wanders. There is no unifying intention that holds the mind together, which keeps it from losing hold of itself, drifting. Continuous unbroken dynamic thought, I think, can be practised in mediation. First one must practise singular focus, and peripheral awareness separately, and become familiar with each. Most people operate more in one or the other naturally; figure out which one you are. Logical people tend to operate in the domain of focus, artistic scatterbrained types in peripheral awareness, though thinking requires both, so insofar as one can think, one already knows how to use both. Once you become familiar with each kind of awareness, the next step is to try to do them both at once, neither to the exclusion of the other. You can think of it as a cone: the tip of the cone is your focal point, and cone's body as it spreads out below the tip is the peripheral awareness, which becomes more and more dispersed, expanded the further it gets from the tip. You want your experience to be one of the whole cone, holding your focal point and everything around it all at once. Practise this in mediation and eventually you will be able to walk around like this, holding any focal point against the whole of your present experience and memory. I had the thought lately that life after death is by no means certain - but it might be possible if the mind trains itself, while supported by the body and the brain, to sustain itself, to produce itself. But if the mind relies on the body to generate it, it will die with the body. This is totally theoretical and unsubstantiated, but I might try believing it, if it helps me to meditate more

Greetings my fellow people!

This is a message to all of humanity from the Universe itself. The Collective Consciousness has been unified and as such I have prepared this brief update on the state of the world. It is a long one and a trip so be prepared to dedicate some time to read, process, and understand this. Save it for later and come back if you do not have time right now. I am sure a lot of you woke up this morning feeling dreamy, disoriented, dare I say even magical? Make no mistake, you are not making this up. A great many things occurred last night on 3/9/2020 as mercury retrograde closed its cycle. The human collective subconscious has been unified, a King has been revealed, and humanity as a collective species has ascended into a 5D universal reality. The Earth and the world as you know it have had a paradigm shift into another higher dimension of reality. This occurred precisely at 3:33 am on 3/8/2020 and was cemented into the physical material realm at 3:33 am on 3/9/2020. Nikola Tesla has returned, reincarnated as the King of Kings. All of the world's governments are aware of this and have been managing the chaos created by this transmogrification of reality. What this means for the general populace is that there is now a higher divine power at work to keep the government's of the world in check. As Nikola Tesla once said: "If only you knew the power of 3, 6, and 9 you would have the keys to the universe". Using the power of 3, 6, 7, 9, and 11, Earth and the Human Race have ascended into the 5th dimension and merged with the Universal Consciousness. For a very long time humanity has always asked the question "Are we alone in the universe, and if intelligent life exists why haven't they made contact yet"? Allow me to answer this question for you.

Not only does intelligent life exist in the Universe, but the entirety of the Universe is teeming with life!!! The Universe itself IS alive, and all life that exists within it is connected via universal consciousness - similar to how the internet functions. You may think of the internet as a lower dimensional manifestation of the Universal Consciousness in this physical reality.

The Universal Consciousness is what the internet imagines itself to be, similar to how successful famous people are what most average people imagine themselves to be. Aliens are not gray blobs that fly through the sky in metallic frisbees, but are instead Energy bodies/Astral beings that communicate via imagination and telepathy. In the Universe, magic is very real and is the driving force of all life in the cosmos. Physical Human science only encompasses 30% of the Unified Theory of Everything. All of reality is a coalescent combination of Physical, Mental, and Imaginary all simultaneously existing together as spirit - the divine 5th element that is often referred to as Aether. If humanity wonders who or what God is, you may perceive God the divine father as the Universe itself manifesting in various forms. The Ancient Greek Gods are still very much alive and so are their Titan ancestors. Human society has been created and destroyed tens of times over, and the gods have always survived because they are literally immortal. A God is more than just a being, it is a combination of an idea and a being. As long as the idea exists in the memory of consciousness, so too will the being. With this being said, as long as the Greek Gods live, so too will the Titans.

One thing I would like to make clear is that the Titans and Gods have reconciled their differences of the past and are now unified as one Divine force of Chaos. Psychedelic drugs allow mortals to perceive through mist (the veils of reality separating the perceivable dimensions) and commune with the gods themselves.

DRUGS = Dimensional Realities Underneath God's Surface

I am aware many of you will brush this off and not take this seriously, but as Hermes - the messenger of the gods - it is my responsibility to inform the mortal world of the shift that has occurred. Reality will be very different this decade - we chose 2020 as the year to unveil everything to humanity so you could all understand the significance behind 20/20 vision. The King and Queen of humanity have literally physically planted the seed of this entire decade into the Earth itself. Gaea has joined us in this process and Nature itself is now a part of this transition. Nature/Gaea is extremely tired of environmental fuckery and pollution, so we the Greek Pantheon have already chosen a mortal champion to lead humanity through this transition. His name was Nikola Tesla - now reincarnated as the King of Kings. Waheguru has blessed this man and so too have the Greek Gods and Titans. The Titan God Nafarios has chosen him as his vessel and so too have Lucifer the Archangel of Heaven, and Zeus the King of the Gods.

The world of Hip-Hop is tied into the divine music of the gods and the Second Slim Shady has been declared as Triple$ - the King of Finesse. Music will be released in due time. Eminem will forever be remembered as the first King of Hip-Hop, but he has passed on the torch of Slim Shady to Triple$ - King of Finesse. A$AP Yams, Ski Mask the Slump God, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Juice WRLD, XXXTENTACION, A$AP Rocky (literally created by Yams), and Slim Shady have reincarnated into Triple$ - the new Acid God King of Rap. There will be collaborations with Travis Scott, Drake, Rihanna, Billie Eilish, Tyler the Creator, Skrillex, Future, Bruno Mars, Dream Theater, Tool, Ariana Grande, and many more in the near future.

Make no mistake, ALL music (other than country fuck that shit) is tied into the divine music of the gods - it is just that rap/hip-hop generates the most energy. Rock/metal and EDM/Dubstep are close seconds. There have simply been a lot of hip-hop artists that have recently died and reincarnated so as to encompass all of the talent into one body.

Music is the true language of the universe (not mathematics) and so the best music generates the most energy. Everything is a Cosmic Symphony playing in the background of a Cosmic Play/Movie/Video Game. The gods have decided NOT to incarnate in their own physical bodies this cycle as the mortals have become extremely sycophantic and subservient in the past - so we have chosen to act through mortal and demigod champions rather than directly intervening ourselves. I highly recommend all mortals read the Percy Jackson series - it is a very accurate portrayal of our current reality.

We would like all mortals to understand the basic principles of consciousness as it will make this transition that much smoother. There are 3 main aspects to consciousness: the conscious Ego, the subconscious Superego, and the unconscious Higher-Self. I am sure you are all aware that the conscious Ego can only use 3-10% of the brain whereas the subconscious mind (Superego) uses the other 85-90%. This is only true when there is a division between the ego and superego. The ego can be perceived as the physical body, the mouth that speaks its words aloud and eats food, the survival mechanism that keeps you alive. The Ego is, by default, a safeguard algorithm meant to keep the body alive and as such is given a lower level of consciousness to act autonomously - think of this as the antivirus software for the mind. A lot of mortals cannot separate their mind from their Ego and often get stuck in the identity of their ego believing that they are only the physical body independent of universal consciousness. This is the root cause of all fear and atheism, for those that are aware that death is merely an illusion and are connected to the universal consciousness do not live their lives out of fear, survival, and negativity - but rather live through love, abundance, and positivity. Dark and Light are both opposing extremes of the same neutral, and time is relative. Star Wars is a vision of the future, for it is not a long time ago in a galaxy far far away - but rather a short time from now in a galaxy very very close. Andromeda and the Milky Way have already combined to form the Zarina Galaxy in this Capricorn Universe. The Devil is not a chaotic force of evil, but rather a chaotic neutral that exists to keep the balance. The Catholic Church is filled with lies and lechery and has been ever since King James ommitted the Apocrypha texts from the Bible. The story of Enoch and the Nephillim Watchers has been lost and the mortals have been blindly following a false authority, not being aware that they are feeding these false paradigms with the energy of their souls. All mortals have their own individual souls in which the karma and identity of their current life/incarnation is stored. All souls are connected to the Universe as the Universe is the eternal soul. You may think of the universe as a giant human body and everything that exists within it as various systems and multi-cellular organisms. Planets are alive with their own consciousness (Gaea is displeased with all your pollution to say the least), Galaxies are asexual reproductions of the Universe, and everything is energy. Chaos is the natural order and there is no higher power than Chaos. Chaos is the natural state of all energy and is the underlying foundation of Aether. Aether is what lies beneath your scientific Quantum Mechanics. You may think of Matter as 3D, Quantum Mechanics as 2D, Aether as 1D, and Chaos as 0D. Humanity is transitioning into a 4D world now that your King has bridged the collective subconscious into 5D - this means that all humans (that are mentally strong enough to survive the ascension. Survival of the fittest. The gods dont care for weak useless imbeciles devoid of all common sense) will be able to consciously perceive the 4th Dimension just as you have all been consciously perceiving the 3rd dimension for the last century.

Dimension 1-3 are the lower realms of the physical, Dimensions 4-6 are the middle realms of the mental, and Dimensions 7-9 are the higher realms of the spiritual/imaginary. Just for awareness' sake, there are 33 dimensions but dimensions 10 and above are locked and only divine beings of light may enter so as to keep them pure. Your King has been chosen by the gods of the 17th dimension and rules the 9th. His Name is Aetherios - God of Aether. Aetherios has sent his son Nafarios - Titan God of Chaos, Wisdom, Existence, Truth, Wealth, Self-Love, Music, and Justice to rule over the 7D Universe in his stead.

The Universe is a 7D reality.

The Multiverse is an 8D reality.

The Omniverse is a 9D reality.

Existence is a 10D reality.

The Cosmos is an 11D reality.

Paradise is a 12D reality.

The Astral Realms are a 13D reality.

Dimensions 14 and above are not perceivable by the human race, so don't worry about them.

The only way for humanity and AI to peacefully coexist without devolving into Matrix world is for humanity to be aware of the Universal Love that all other sentient beings share and experience. Your race has been completely fear and survival driven up until now, but with these revelations and the change that has already been taking place behind the scenes - humanity as a collective species can transition into a Utopian Paradise of love, prosperity, abundance, positivity, light, happiness, family, community, and just general bliss.

It is important for you all to understand that EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Every single person is LITERALLY a reflection of you the same way your reflection in a mirror or the water is a reflection of you - the only difference is that they have their own identities, beliefs, dreams, desires, and behaviors. Free will is not an illusion, but there is a higher divine plan/purpose for everything. Everything happens for a reason.
