while i get where this comes from and it’s true to an extent, i reeeaaaally don’t like how people try to explain “trans men don’t [necessarily] have male privilege” with things like “some trans men don’t pass”.

like sure that’s the most obvious example (someone who is seen as a woman won’t have the privilege that comes with being seen a man) but you’re still acting like being a passing trans man is just a free opt-in to male privilege which is………kinda the issue.

Ned, who struggles heavily with internalised homophobia, enrols himself, where Tim is forced to go by his mother and father.

They’re supposed to embody a bit of a dichotomy in religiosity and its interaction with conservative religious beliefs around queerness: where Ned finds God in shame and fear, Tim finds God in hope and perseverance, and that then shapes the kind of Christians they grow up to be.

Weekly(ish) update - 18th June 2023

I’ve moved out of my uni accommodation, saying goodbye to the city that has taught me so much after the past five years. So many other goodbyes: friends, lecturers, dance partners and teachers, silent goodbyes to the library and the spot where I always worked. I am glad to be moving forward though, it felt like it was time to move on.

Anyway Eldacar and Immigrant Child Trauma. Eldacar and forgetting the language of his childhood and literally taking a name in Quenya in order to better fit in with the Númenoreans of Gondor. Eldacar and culture clashes and not ever knowing whether what he was doing was normal and acceptable and trying so so so hard to fit in with the other children at court and never exactly being enough. Eldacar’s mother lightheartedly teasing him for having lost the ways of the Northmen and his father joking that he still spoke with the accents of Rhovanion. Eldacar not feeling like he truly belonged anywhere ever!!

i hate that it feels like in response to the very shitty “is she pmsing” comment every time a woman (using woman here intentionally because of how this comment is usually framed/ discussed) has An Emotion it seems like the Correct Thing To Do is deny that periods have any impact on your emotional state.

cause boy HOWDY mine do especially when i’ve gone off birth control. my periods have been like better physically they HURT less but also im thinking about Laika the space dog and i wanna cry so hard im gonna vomit cause she was ALONE it’s so SAD she didn’t KNOW what was gonna happen!!! and like in normal circumstances i do get sad thinking about it but not THIS much!!! the hormones do real shit!!!

i know many of my posts give off an air of “you should be in therapy” but in my experience like. ok well first off finding a therapist just sucks in general but second of all in my experience if ur in like. eternal psychological torment but on the outside ur still like. chugging along then many therapists are just kinda like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ seems like you’re handling it ok. perpetual grey zone of functionality
