Eavesdropping & Confessions | Jaemin

summary: during one of your movie nights with your bestfriend, winwin, his roommate jaemin joins the both of you. your crush on jaemin causes you to excuse yourself to the restroom but when you come back to the living room, you find yourself accidentally eavesdropping on their conversation. wc: 1,252 a/n: aww thank you! <3 I never thought to put winwin and jaemin together in a fic but this was so much fun to write! thank you for the request and I hope you enjoy it :) :)

Movie nights with your childhood best friend, Winwin, have always been your favorite. You loved them when you were little and both your parents would set up a movie day for you two, and you love them now. Movie nights nowadays usually happen at Winwin's place because he has a slightly better television than you do. (Plus, Jaemin was his roommate who you may or may not be harboring a huge crush for.)

It’s your turn to pick the movie tonight which means it’s Winwin's turn to pick the snacks. You scroll through Netflix as he's in the kitchen putting everything into bowls so that it's easy to snack on. You stop on one movie amidst your scrolling and the trailer automatically starts playing soon after. It was interesting enough to catch your attention, plus the actor was really cute which was always a bonus, so you figure this is the perfect movie to watch tonight. 

Winwin comes in as you're finishing the trailer and you hear him laugh to himself as he sets the snacks down. "What?" You ask, wanting to know what was funny.

"Nothing, I just saw the trailer for this movie earlier and added it to my list because I knew you were going to want to watch it."

"What do you mean? I've never even heard of this movie before."

"Yeah but the guy in the movie looks just like Jaemin." Your head snaps to the screen as he says this to get a better look. You were about to deny the likeness between the two, but you could plainly see the similarities. "What does it matter if the actor looks like Jaemin? Why would that make me want to watch the movie?" You ask, knowing good and well that this was subconsciously a contributing factor.

Winwin smiles at your unwillingness to admit your crush, but doesn't want to push it further. "Ok, maybe I was wrong but the movie did look good so I'm down to watch it."

You're about halfway through your movie when Jaemin comes home. You had made yourself comfortable, slouching with your feet hanging off the couch, but when you heard the door open you immediately sat up straight. You try to look natural as you avoid Winwin’s gaze on you knowing that he sees right through your actions.

"You guys are having a movie night again?" Jaemin asks, walking into the living room. The question could have been answered by either of you, but he only looked at you when he asked it.

"Yeah, it's actually really good."

Jaemin looks at you for a beat longer than normal, a subtle sign of his true feelings for you, but of course you don't notice. "Maybe I can join you?" He says, again only looking at you.

You nod your head and smile, not letting any words out in fear of showing your eagerness. He leaves to go to his room to set his stuff down and change into something more comfortable.

When he comes back out to the living room, your heart twinges at the sight of him in sweatpants and a hoodie. It's not like you've never seen him in this before, but he just looks so cute.

You expect him to sit next to Winwin like he usually does, but instead he plops down right next to you. Your outward exterior is calm, but inside you're smiling so hard right now. You can feel Winwin looking over at you two, but you ignore it, knowing that you'll gush about this with him later.

Jaemin spends a while eating the now diminishing snacks, before he settles down, his arm touching yours as you two both stare at the screen. There's plenty of room on the couch, you both could move away if you wanted to, but neither of you do. You can feel his body heat radiating off of him and you feel his arms slight movement every time he breathes in and out.

Although you wanted to stay like this forever, you felt yourself getting more and more nervous as the minutes ticked by, so you excuse yourself to go to the bathroom, feeling like a slight break will help you clear your head.

You’re probably in the bathroom for a bit too long, but you didn’t care. You were trying so hard to stop the smile on your face, but the more you thought about your little interaction with Jaemin, the more it made your heart flutter.

Finally though, you get your act together and feel like you could go back out there. You’re about three steps from the living room when you notice they must have paused the movie while they waited for you because all you could hear was their voices. You honestly didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but Winwin’s words made you stop in your tracks.

"Honestly Jaemin, just ask her out."

"You know I want to but, if she doesn't feel the same way about me then I’ll hate myself for potentially making her feel uncomfortable coming over here."

"I don't think you have to worry about that."

"Wa-"

Immediately you come into the living room, not wanting Winwin to say any more. You give him a death glare as you sit at the other end of the coach, away from both boys. You're heart pounding knowing that Jaemin feels the same way as you do.

Jaemin wants to assume that you heard none of what was said, but he knows better than that. His heart drops at the thought, but he thinks about it a bit more as the movie plays on, and comes to the conclusion that it may actually be a good thing.

Winwin must have been thinking the same thing because right before the movie credits started playing, he quietly slipped out of the living room, leaving you two alone.

“Even though I only watched half of the movie, I actually thought it was pretty good.” Jaemin says to you.

You nod, still looking at the screen pretending to be very interested in the end credits. It’s quiet for a moment between you two before Jaemin speaks up again. “Y/n can I ask you something?”

You know you can’t keep staring at the screen when he asks you a question like that, so you manage to make eye contact with him this time as you nod.

“Did… did you overhear me and Winwin talking?”

“When?” You ask, trying to act clueless.

At this Jaemin gets up and sits right next to you. “Y/n.”

“Yes, I overheard.” You say quietly.

“Ok I understand.” Jaemin says, hurt in his voice. He must have misunderstood your quiet response because he starts to back away from you, giving you space. You knew that if you didn’t tell him right now how you felt, he'd never know.

You grab his arm gently, stopping him from moving away. It takes everything in you to say the words, but you do. “I feel the same way, Jaemin.”

You can literally see his emotions go from saddened to overjoyed at your words. “Do you really? You’re not just saying that?”Just saying that? Does he not know that there is no world in which you would ever joke about liking him? You were about to explain that to him, when you all of a sudden got a burst of confidence. You lean over to him and press a kiss on his cheek. “Of course I’m not joking.”

hey everyone!! so, originally, i wanted to do one of these back when all of y'all were posting your 'follow forever' + favorite blogs lists for new year's eve, but at that point in time i didn't feel like i knew anyone well enough to make a full list. but now, it's been almost nine months (holy shit!!!) since i joined this fandom, and there have been so many people that i've connected with and who have made my experience on here so much fun and so special.

plus...it's my birthday today, so i thought - what better way to celebrate it than to show my immense love & appreciation for all my mutuals, followers friends, and anyone who has ever made my tumblr experience better?

this isn't really in any particular order, and also, i am so so sorry if i forgot anyone. i had to type this out at least six times over the past two months because tumblr kept deleting my progress for some reason, so i'm really sorry if i missed anyone because of it. i recognize the urls of anyone that regularly interacts with my posts, so i promise that if you've ever left nice tags in the reblogs of my gifs or replied to any of my WIPS or tagged me in a gifset or in a tag game or sent me a nice ask or anything at all, really, please know that i think you're wonderful and i love you all so much even if tumblr hates me and decided to erase all of the evidence of it 😅

@willblogger ima i've said this many times before but i absolutely Need to say it again: you are genuinely the funniest person on byler tumblr. i cannot count the number of times that you've made me full-on belly laugh (to the point where my stomach starts to hurt) and completely destroyed my attempts to casually and inconspicuously scroll through tumblr in public places. i dunno how you do it at all but every single thing you say is such an absolute delight and i am always giggling n kicking my feet when i read the tags on all of your posts. the thousands of people on tiktok and twitter copying your jokes could never do it like you. you've also got this deep understanding of the way the text has been written and i really appreciate how your analysis honors the characters as they are instead of trying to make them more palatable them for this fandom. it's just. it's rare to find people that love these characters as they are and understand them as well as you do and i feel very lucky to have found your blog. also this is not related at all but ur plushies are cute as fuck & i love them :) OH!! n thank u sm for being my number one stevebucky enthusiast mutual n partner in rage when it comes to avengers endgame!! can't wait to have a hate party w you (if you'd like) in five days 💗

gray: talk about the colors you tend to use in edits! do you like making bright or dark edits? are there colors you dislike editing? 

i dont know if there are any colors i tend to lean towards in editing, really, but i generally prefer bright edits ^_^ i dont like editing orange... sighs... despite that one of my faaave layers to use is an orange photo filter it always makes things look so nice

black: what kind of programs do you use to edit? have you always used these or have you branched out before?

i use photopea currently! i find its a lot nicer to use for coloring and such. i moved over faiirly recently from ibis, i find both have their respective pros and cons :3

I still don’t have major experiences with Loki, apart from dreams, because of various reasons I will talk about now.

I always have been interested in him as a deity since I started my spiritual journey, he seemed so interesting and to be honest also fun to be around, but I wanted to get him to teach me some things.

Because of my anxiety I’ve became very serious and precautious (is that even a word-) and so scared of change. After some time I decided it was the case to start moving things, just to embrace change and not be afraid of it. And I knew that Loki would be the best to teach me that. So I reached out to him and he replied immediately, I asked for a sign and also got confirmation by a friend that works with him too, he said he was happy to start working with me (ngl i was giggling).

But then, just after that, my mental health declined so my spiritual practice was completely gone and I got detached from my deities. I only had few contact with Lucifer (as I feel like he’s my patron, but I don’t have confirmation yet). I just recently got back into my practice so I still have to experience many things with him, but he appeared a few times in my dreams and helped me with some things.

I still have to really take my practice back, but my motivation isn’t the best, I don’t even know why. I’m actually doing better because of the tons of meds I’m taking, yet my deity work sucks and I even feel ashamed to get back to the deities and say sorry again like I always did when I disappeared. Some of them understand and are completely patient, like Anubis and Hermes, but others like Lucifer and Leviathan are yeah still somewhat patient but they want me to make constant action and yk their is a tough love, but I mean of course its like that lol they’re infernals.

They all give me great advice when I talk to them, they are extremely motivating and they cheer me up, always, they really believe in me and are always there for me.

As some of the people that follow me have notice I started channeling just recently but only with my dr loved ones, so I want to try and channel my deities too. I just am kind of stuck because I feel like their presence would be too much, for example the first time I called upon Anubis I sensed an incredibly humbling and ancient energy (but extremely comforting).

Enough on rambling, I haven’t even replied to your question I’m so sorry 😭 but again I don’t have many experiences with him, I want to know yours though so if you want to tell me let me know!

My favorite thing.. Jeez, that's a hard question! I mean, a lot of things technically are still around today.. I guess I really just miss how colorful everything was! Sure, there's some colorful .. Advertisements nowadays, but back then it was like, everything you wore was the brightest and most ridiculous thing you could find! It was a delight, in my opinion, but some disagree!

Gosh, but, actually.. My favorite thing might be blockbuster stores. I didn't really get the childhood that so many 80s kids seemingly had.. But, every friday my mom would take me to a blockbuster store and let me pick out a movie! And that was the best day of every week, because then I'd come home and watch the movie over and over with Jenny, and gosh, she really hated my taste in movies! She would always throw a fit! But she could never turn me down. Denny could only sit through one run of the movie and then get bored. I loved scanning the aisles for a good film, it really just isn't the same anymore.

Don't get me started on computers— We had an old IBM and it was fantastic! When I was allowed on it, which was rarely, I'd play Cosmic Crusader for the entire time!

I really miss simple days like that, but I would never want to go back to my childhood. Besides, I can still do all these things! I just have to make a 40 minute drive to get to a video store now..

This is an oc AskBlog taking place in an OC centric Rise of the TMNT apocalypse AU in which earthlings managed to get the upper hand before and at the moment of the apocalypse that happens in the first segment of the movie, leading to much more of a "normal" life while still in the ruins and in imminent danger thanks to the Krang. My OC is in this universe alongside some of my friends' OCs that started this AU, some of them have followed my lead and created askblogs for themselves :D I'll leave links to them right here if you wanna check them out (will update as more askblogs are created)

Neo "Turmoil" Sone Cruz, my silly RotTMNT hybrid oc that you'll get to uncover lore of as the askblog progresses! Basic information would be that they were a child fighter at the Nexus from 8-13 years old, escaped, and much later in life at 17 got adopted by the Kaylus family. Now, at the age of 19, they're moody and sarcastic mostly but for this blog they get to be a bit more laid-back since most of the sad stuff has already happened to them. most of them.

DeesOhTee/superneovastar which is ME!! and just me (for now unless a friend offers to co-manage the blog or smth)

If it's a rlly creative ask maybe I'll give it a chance for the sake of "the funnie and the sillie"

if i remember correctly, i think you do music journalism right? if so, did you go into it with a lot of knowledge about the music scene? i want to do music journalism but i'm scared that i don't know enough about it :/

hiii yes i started about a month ago and I think I've gathered most of my music knowledge throughout books, youtube videos, interviews, and even Tumblr posts.

for starters i think you should begin by watching videos on yt abt the genres/movements/artists etc ur interested in or simply the ones that seem interesting to you. my favorite channels for that are trash theory, mic the snare, polyphonic and rock n roll true stories. they all share really interesting and fun facts/stories or full on essays on a song or an album or tell u the entire history of how certain genre came to be etc. my favorites are polyphonic and trash theory btw.

watching these videos will inevitably lead u to search interviews and articles on a certain topic and i think what's really amazing about music history is how it's all connected like rn I'm reading meet me in the bathroom and I'm so glad i read please kill me first bc it just feels more adequate and makes u feel the magic of it all yk. I'd also recommend looking around the artist tag on here bc there's also lots of content on tumblr (like damonalbarnunofficial yk they're like god) and find these blogs that know what they're talking about. some of my knowledge also comes from reading my mutuals posts yk <3

and i think what will help you the most especially on terms of the music scene is reading books written by those who have been part of it or the ones that document it. it depends on which scenes u are most interested in but some of the ones I've read are please kill me, girl in a band by kim gordon, i dreamt i was a very clean tramp by richard hell, just kids by patti smith, afternoons with the blinds drawn by brett anderson, neon angel by cherie currie and while we were getting high by kevin cummins (it's mostly photographs but includes some trivia/the story about how the pic came to be etc.) and rn im reading meet me in the bathroom so these are the ones i could recommend. but there's also lots more like our band could be your life, face it, etc etc just read the ones that attract u. also all these books are free to download on zlibrary<3

i think another fun thing is to read about certain interesting journalists like legs mcneil, lester bangs, lizzy goodman, etc.

idk if u also have questions abt that but im gonna say it anyway lol. as for becoming a journalist my advice is make an Instagram account and find as many magazines from your country as u can. international magazines are obviously good as well but in my experience they're better for submitting certain articles and making ur cv look good lol which is great but it'll be more likely to get hired by a national magazine as that's where you're based and they can actually send u to a certain show/festival or even cover your local music scene. keep active on insta even if it's just to check their accounts bc they do post a lot of opportunities mostly on stories to either be officially a part of their team or to intern with them etc so i think in this day and age this is easiest and maybe only way to be a music journalist.

and also don't worry about not knowing Everything u don't have to know all about a certain genre or artist just start with what u know and research what interests u and it'll all come to u dw <3 good luck i hope this was helpful!!!<333

ur fucking cooking... you may or may not have seen that my entire blog used to scream themed because its fully one of my favorite movie series EVER<3 ghostface!rafe is SOOOOO yummy. tw murder and a whole bunch of psycho stuff lol

he's soooooo sick n fucking twisted!!!! if he was a true ghostface, he'd be insanely protective over you, telling you it's dangerous to go out alone at night, that you shouldn't even stay at home alone if he's not spending the night. his lil killing spree would start with people trying to break the two of you up, people he knows are actively trying to get into your ear and tell you that rafe is dangerous, that's he's bad for you.

n you defend rafe with all your heart!! your boyfriend is so caring, doesn't even allow you to drive home alone, chauffeurs you around in his car, drops whatever he's doing to come get you if you call.

a couple times he's a lil late.. shows up to your door all sweaty, looking tired n messy, and you ask where he's been all night. doesn't really give you a real answer, just tells you he was with the boys. (he was gutting this boy from some party the other night that wouldn't leave you alone). you hear the news the next day, and when people in town start questioning some of the young men, you valiantly protect rafe, saying he was with you all night (which he was... kind of..) and the way he beams at you when you do this guarantees that you would never voice your suspicions no matter how prominent they become.

ur big friend group tries to figure out what's going on... pretending to be detectives, one of them even questions if youre the killer, saying your sweet personality is the best alibi n that no one would suspect a thing. you laugh, then rafe laughs, so everyone laughs, but the friend who said it is next on his list.

consoles you when ur crying, sick n tired of feeling so scared all the time, wanting life to go back to normal! you love spending time with rafe but everything is getting to be a little bit... overwhelming. you're never alone anymore, never have time or the chance to just be with your friends. it's a lil suffocating but then someone else turns up dead and you retreat into safety, into what you think can protect you: rafe.

the big reveal is the make or break. in the real world youd run screaming for your life. but in shea's world ur just as crazy as he is, still believe he did everything for the right reason, brainwashed enough by him and his charm and his love for you that is so apparent he would kill for you and you let it sway you.

that was a lil dark even for me, but canon rafe is literally a killer n i just be ignoring that part like damn kill me too!! i love u!! biggest fan i'd be ur alibi!!

this getting hella long but rafe with ghostface tendencies is also.... so hot....just lots of overprotectiveness and stalking and if he's part of a duo, just trying to keep you out of everything and protected. doesn't want you anywhere near this stuff, freaks out if you end up hurt or realizing what's going on. but he knows you won't snitch, won't leave or even try to run. he's got you wrapped around his finger <3

and yes he fucks you with the mask on. sneaks into your house while ur leaving him a cute msg saying goodnight. fucks you all crazy and half way through you realize it's rafe. you don't stop tho n beg him to keep going <3

Yeah, the studio has blinds but light still comes through. It's not that bright but the apartment lights are too bright. I'm thinking of getting a side lamp so I can just use that to illuminate the room.

English is fun,, hmm the last time i have art class i think when i was in elementary school. yeah, before i started writing here, i thought it was hard to write essay, but didnt mean to show off, i was actually surprised that i always got A in my english essay. lol. the teacher told me that i can write and i didnt believe her and i thought i could write the essay because of the structure n the rule in writing n because she guides me. I never thought i could write a 6K fanfic. lol

I actually tried to write a story in a blog looooong time ago in a blog. but my ex gf told me that i wrote it too detail bla bla bla. n what she said kinda drag me down so i didnt continue write the story.

1) beast and the harlot by avenged sevenfold. i grew up listening to avenged sevenfold as the younger brother of 2 scene teens, so this one gets stuck in my head a lot lol. i like to go EeSaDwEliNpLeSfAdEmAhH in the beginning of the chorus :D

2) mania by madeon. i like madeon’s music, but this one in particular scratches my brain correctly.

(A/n: I don’t really know why i named it Boombayah. It just kinda fit the vibe)

You and Dick met as he was out on a patrol in the middle of night and he saw a shadowy figure use a grappling hook to get to the top of a building. Dick decided to follow the figure to make sure nothing sketchy was happening.

When Dick came to the top of the building he saw that the grate to the vent was open and climbed inside. Dick followed until he saw where the figure had exited the grate so he exited it as well. As he did he heard running footsteps coming from his left so he followed the noise.

He only stopped when he came to a heavy looking door that had been opened. There was code lock besides it that had been cut with some sort of laser. Dick took in everything he saw and came to the conclusion that he might have to fight when he walked in to the room that the door had guarded.

That wasn’t really anything new to him so he walked towards the opening but then heard running coming back towards him. From the darkness in the room he saw someone wearing a full y/f/c body suit. Dick readied himself for combat and took a fighting stance.

Then you exited the room seeing Nightwing waiting for you in fighting position. You assumed he must had followed you and thought you were some sort of criminal. So instead of atempting to fight back you looked for an opening to run past him.

You then found the perfect opening, you got down on your knees, leaned back and slid between the vigilante’s legs. You then got up and started running again, you also yelled back to Nightwing ”Come on! The alarm has been set off”

Nightwing took off running behind you. Dick noticed something, you were probably the only person to have an ass to match his. You both got up in to the vent and managed to get out on to the rooftop.

You and Nightwing made some distance between the two of you and the building and when you found a rooftop you thought was far away enough Nightwing went ahead and started questioning you.

You told him that you worked for a spy organisation and were sent to steal the plans for an evil weapon they were building. Nightwing apologised for interupting your mission and asked if he could take you on an apology dinner. You weren’t one to say no to free food so you happily accepted his dinner.

After that date you and Dick became a couple and would occasionally go on missions together. He was fascinated by the gadgets you used like the mini computer compact mirror, lipstick laser, communicator earings, etc…

One time you accidentally took Dick’s utility belt instead of your own which meant you were out there throwing his wing dings (Nightwing’s design off batarangs). Which meant Dick was forced to around using gadgets that did not fit his image at all.

You apologised to him for it but overall he didn’t seem to mind and also seemed like he had a really good time using the lipstick laser and such, which had also confused the hell out of Batman at why he had those in the first place but in the end everything worked out fine.

The Batfam would have mixed reactions about you and your aesthetic, mostly positive but then there was Damian who was less than entertained by the silly gadgets.

He visited your and Dick’s apartment gor dinner and spent the dinner giving his take about your suit. ”You have a computer in your compact… that is so stupid” he said. Dick tried to make him stop but honestly you were quite entertained by it.

”And you wear gogo boots?…” He questioned. ”Yeah, you know gives the kick an extra... well kick” you answered simply. ”Maybe you should get some gogo boots too Damian, i’m sure you’d look great in them” you suggested.

The rest of the batfamily really liked you though. Stephanie is your biggest fan and wants gadgets like yours.

▸ ever since sun had met you, you have always been the sweetest little thing to him

▸ your energies balance out perfectly! sun is frankly, kinda scattered and a bit erratic. though he is programmed to take care of children- he is a little all over the place. all the time. luckily, you were gentle with him and incredibly patient. your soft nature working with sun's... unique personality seemed to click nicely.

▸ always there to slow him down or offer him some space to calm down, you really were such an angel in his eyes. this type of friendship was definitely needed after long hours of working in the daycare. not like he was tired or anything- you had never known sun to be tired a day in his life. he just seemed to enjoy being taken care of sometimes. and he definitely needed it.

▸ because of this, sun had become incredibly clingy. when it was time for you to leave, it seemed like the same thing. mentioning that you were just starting to have fun, offering a bunch of activities and things that you could do- and having to practically dodge him as you tried to head for the door all while saying goodbye

▸ he lets you go eventually though. but he definitely waits for you to come back. so the next day, when you did come back, during the after hours of the daycare as per usual, he immediately rushed to you and picked you up. he lifted you and twirled you around before bringing you closer. his face was practically five inches away from yours as he began rambling about how much his missed you

▸ he noticed though, mid-ramble, that there was something different. you were wearing earbuds, plugged into your phone. naturally he set you down and glanced over your shoulder, quick to ask what you were listening to

▸ initially, you took out an earbud and offered it to him. before observing the very Non-Ears that he had on the sides of his head. sun took it in his hand and kinda. placed it on the side of his head where an ear could be. and watched it fall as he let go.

▸ well. it was after hours anyways. you unplugged it quickly to blast your favorite song for him to hear. smiling, you talk a little about the song you're listening to.

▸ he was not expecting this type of music. and from you especially. sun doesn't really get to listen to any other music other than the stuff he hears playing around the pizzaplex

▸ this is his first time listening to this genre. and it's being introduced to him by the softest person he knows. once the song ends he's just kinda ":D" in silence. like he doesn't quite know how to react HWJJDDJSN

▸ he'll let you blast your music when you visit, mainly because he likes seeing you nod your head to the music (or headbang. or scream along. whatever floats ur boat babes!!!!) sun doesn't not appreciate explicit lyrics though, so if a song happens to Not Be Clean he will switch it

▸ he's secretly a little scared of you now. unsuspecting at first, he now definitely thinks that you're tough as hell!!! and very cool!!!!! but he also sometimes wonders if you're just secretly very good at keeping a fiery temper in check.

▸ gonna be real he really can't make out the lyrics. but if you enjoy it, he's not gonna stop you!!! sun tried to scream along once. nearly shattered your eardrums. he was NOT programmed for singing. and definitely not screaming.

▸ well. maybe heavy metal and scream-y emo music isn't for him- or at least his voice box anyways.

▸ bonus thingy: moon thinks your music is. interesting. he will definitely make you to turn it down. when he's finally satisfied with the volume it's barely even a whisper.
