I love your art so much, you’re part of the reason I started drawing again. Your old art is cool, and your new art just has so much emotion and detail in it, it deserves so much praise. Do you have any advice on how you upskilled so well into the amazing art you do today? I really want to learn to be skilled like you are and improve to your level

Dude, thank you so much. I'm super flattered but also have major Impostor Syndrome right now lol.

The biggest thing that helped me was getting a drawing tablet and learning how to use digital art programs like Canvas or Procreate. I am a very messy artist - my traditional sketchbooks were always a nightmare because of how often I erase shit, so being able to use programs where I can simply undo or reposition a line was a game-changer.

I'm also incredibly indecisive and struggle with linework, but I found some great brushes that mimic the effects of ink pens and watercolor so I can achieve the messy, painted look. (This Sketchbook set and lineart set are the two I use the most)

Use as many references as you need! Gather a bunch of base poses to get the hang of proportions and anatomy (my go-to artist is Mellon_Soup. Screenshots from movies and shows work great too)

Try out posing tools like this one

A fun exercise that helps me is to paste a photo or drawing on one layer, and then on the layer above, sketch the main aspects in 30 seconds. Delete the first layer and then work solely off of the sketch (and yes it will absolutely look spooky and/or silly). If you need more time at first, start with 60 seconds and work your way down as you get the hang of it:

Take pictures of yourself in the poses you want to draw

Find artists with a style that resonates with you and study their work

The Multiply tool on Procreate is AMAZING for adding depth to artwork. I use this on almost everything. Add a slightly darker color on top of the whole set of layers, switch it to Multiply, and then go in with the eraser to mark the areas where the light hits

Keep practicing, no matter how shitty you think it looks! Just keep going!!

I try to stick to the sidelines, try not get noticed, and watch events unfold.

As a cool kid named Miles once said, "Anyone can wear the mask. YOU can wear the mask." I think a lot of people need to hear that every now and then. That it doesn't take an accident or destiny to be a hero. That you can be great by just being you.

So I hope you find this, and you decide to become a hero yourself. Even if it's not in the ways people might expect. Even if it's just putting one foot in front of the other.

hi everyone! thanks to @mellon_soup and @_doodles_i_guess_ for the art bases! I can't do anatomy on my life, and I was so happy to find their references to use to create my very own spidersona! they were free to use with credit, and I hope that they see these! I'm not sure if they're on tumblr, but I have linked where you can find them elsewhere, please give them some love!

anyway, this blog is going to be for all things spidersona. as of writing this I've yet to see atsv, but I have seen itsv! i just love the spiderverse so much, and I love the creativity and diversity it brings within fandom. it deserves to be showcased. so I made a little story as a sort of meta kind of thing, for this blog. I really hope you like it!

Hi! Not sure if you taking Headcanon asks, but if you are, do you have headcanons for Cosmo’s mom and dad, like their jobs, where they are now, etc.?

So first off initially I had thought that it was left unclear on who’s side the Von Strangles are from until I looked at the wiki n saw they’re on Mama Cosma’s side, however at that point I had drawn up Papa Cosma with the intent of them being from the Von Strangles and I’m not changing it lol

don’t really have many hcs for Mama Cosma as I don’t really care for her but by the time of new wish Cosmo has actually gone no contact with her!

Now onto Papa cosma! He’s name is Cedar! They said Cosmo was the strongest baby born, however that’s only because no one remembers when Cedar was born! All fairies born with the von strangle gene are classified as “the strongest fairy born” Cosmo was just the lastest born (that is until peri) he was also born with one of his wings underdeveloped so he can’t fly and actually walks everywhere since he doesn’t even want to use magic to float

Cedar is actually quite nervous about using magic because of the Von strangle gene (although he’s unaware he’s related to Jordan) so he rarely uses it, he’s divorced from Mama Cosma but had no visitation rights to Cosmo or Schnozmo during their childhood

Cedar is currently living in the human world, he’s actually hazel’s school counsellor! he’s not a fairy godparent so magical back up takes longer to take effect, but he makes sure to release magic so magical backup doesn’t happen

He’s since reunited with Cosmo! Cosmo is very happy to have his dad back in his life!

🔥/ soooo oc x canon stuff ... we (system) are making a fnac 3 au based on our (and my boyfriend's) interpretations of the characters in the rat and cat theater while adding our OC into it because of course we are.

soo some info abt this ship and au:

- the Puppeteer, Rat, and Cat actors have names (Vincent, Antonio, and Richard respectively)

- my OC, Komi, is a pianist who, you guessed it, plays piano during the shows. i can lore dump about her role in the fnafverse another day yaaawwwnnn....

- havent drawn any full refs yet but Antonio is based off of Jesse Pinkman and Richard is based off of Steve Harrington, while Vincent i based off of one of my headmate's memories.

- havent drawn Mary yet but should soon...

- William Afton and Henry Emily stole the design of Vinnie in this AU to make the Security Puppet/Marionette. they both used to go to the R&C Theater

- redesigned Vinnie btw bc Oh My God why does he look like that. no wonder those shows were unpopular 😭

- i havent drawn the other animatronics yet bc i have trouble drawing them tbh 😭 i have drawn Blank a few times

Hii Denz I have a question about your pirate au

Do you have any specific ideas for what kind of clothes techno wears?

Hiiii got so happy to get this ask and then realised i actually didnt have a solid idea so i went to sketch it out. He has one of those fancy ruffled shirts (that he stole), boots because i want him to have boots, a coat thats a little bit torn and beat up and stained at the bottom (very old coat) and some pieces of gold in his hair (Currently in the story he doesnt have that because of the whole. getting beaten up by the Red Sea and then leaving immedatly on the first boat he saw, but later he will get some gold.)

I also imagine him having a matching earring with Phil from their glory days were they were both pirates toghether also!

Also btw i used refrences from @/mellon_soup since i was more focused on sketching clothes and i had a good base in my photos aready :D

Official Barriss Day Post Incoming!!!!

okay!! so i had writers block & then inspiration hit me like lightning: fancy magazines!! the aurebesh text in the corner is meant to caption the photo, kind of like you would see in a magazine. it says "Barriss Offee: Jedi Medicorps" bc i'm following the idea out of legends canon that she's primarily a healer once knighted & is part of the medicorps during the clone wars. i tried to draw on her canon outfit as much as possible for shape language, and decided to put her in purple & grey bc they both fit in her color palette. also i love purple!!

disclaimer that i did trace the base drawing from a pose sketch from @/mellon_soup on tiktok (they give full permission to trace & have fun, as long as you don't use it to sell anything). of course i designed the outfit myself, so!!

anyway, her little decorative hood clasp is actually her belt buckle from her movie outfit, i wanted to directly include it bc it's just such a sweet little detail. also: the gems on her bracelets & barrettes are directly color-picked from her lightsaber.

one thing i kind of struggled with was her skin tone, bc i've seen a lot of people draw her green, and that comes from the clone wars shows i think, but in live action she's much more yellow. eventually i just said fuck it we ball & went with a cool yellow-green. (barriss enjoyers pls let me know if this is incorrect.)

anyway!! this is my first time drawing barriss actually & it was really fun!! hope y'all enjoy & maybe we can do something like this again 🥰
