So, more v*gan hate from me because I saw this post today:
So, this simply isn't true, and entirely hateful in it's ignorance.
There are people who can't be v*fan for many health reasons, including genetically not being able to fully sustain yourself on plant-based products.
There are people for whom it's cheaper to eat products with animals in them, or products that use animal products.
There are indigenous cultures that respect the animals fully for what they receive for them to survive.
V*gan products are expensive, and making food requires effort that some people with physical and mental conditions just can't do, nor do all of those people have people in their lives to help them.
There are neurodivergent people who are only willing to eat certain things, and who can't be forced to eat other things, that will literally starve if they don't have access to the foods they are willing to eat.
Humans are omnivores. We are physically designed to consume both meat and plants. Not one or the other. Both. We need both to survive. Yes, we can get some stuff through supplements, but a) the fact that we still need them artificially does not negate that we need them and successfully and easily get them from meat, and b) are too expensive for everyone to consume.
If we just suddenly stop eating meat over night, the animals used in the meat industry would just continue to multiply and use resources that humans also need, while having not enough predators to cull their population.
V*gans truly do not use their heart or have compassion for others that just can't live like they do.
V*gas are ablest, racist, elitist little shits who need to learn more about various human conditions.
Vegans who want to come at me? DNI: I will block you. I've heard it all before and you can't change my mind. Is the system we have now shit? Yes. However, we can't remove meat from the entire planet's diet.

Rant about vegans
I have nothing against vegans, I even respect them
At least the ones that don't push their worldview onto others
Because there's a really awful offshoot of vegans
First of all, they're lying.
Claiming that humans are not omnivores. That's just blatantly wrong. They also lie about supplements or at least downplay it. I once talked to one and just casually mentioned I'm bad at taking meds, so taking supplements wouldn't work for me. "Don't worry," they said, "you don't need supplements. I myself only take two!"
Which brings me to the next point:
They're ableist.
When they scream about how everyone needs to become vegan, often disabled folks of all stripes tell them that they cannot be vegan due to their disability, and lay out why. Those types of vegans then grow belligerent and tell the disabled folk that they're just not trying hard enough, or to just take it, or to take all kinds of medication to be able to, or they'll straight up insinuate "vegan or death". They love to pretend to be these hyper-leftists, but they don't give a shit about marginalized people and only want to force everyone to live as they do. What's the word for that again?
They harrass people
These types love nothing more than to spring images of mutilated animals on people with no warning. Scare them, terrorise them into compliance. There's also a word for that, I'm sure. ("Asshole" is one)
I'm not vegan. In large parts due to my disability, but meat is also yummy. I've made my peace with eating meat. I would love to eat more substitute, but I can't. Wheat and soy substitutes make me violently ill, and pea protein is the most disgusting shit I've ever put in my mouth (and I once accidentally licked cat shit)
I would love for these types of vegans to fucking chill and leave people alone. Not everyone can become vegan. Humans are omnivores. Becoming vegan won't solve climate change.

these are actually some of the best tasting and most fulfilling meals I’ve ever had the opportunity to have
literally just rice, eggs, spam, cream, soy sauce, olive oil

the idea that vegans are always out eating the most expensive vegan cuisine we can find or buying meat substitutes no matter the price is wild.
i'm making cheap dishes at my house 99% of the time. most restaurants around me dont provide vegan options that go beyond salad with Nothing on it and MAYBE fries.
im not eating out or eating expensive substitutes every day.
i buy stuff on sale when i have the opportunity. i compare prices at stores so i get the cheapest price. if the products i want are too much for me to swing i dont get them. this is how a lot of people operate, especially in this economy. where are you people living where you see vegans buying expensive shit all the time

it’s so odd seeing other therians or alterhumans mad that some therians or alterhumans aren’t vegan?? and their excuse being “Well, yours paying for animals suffering. There is no such thing as ethical.” and basically saying if you eat animal products and are alterhuman your identity is invalid??

Those posts that go around, that are like “DNI if” and list a bunch of criteria and you’re supposed to reblog with how many of those criteria you fit are really abusive not only because they make of of dni lists which are a useful tool for queer people and other minorities but also because they actively encourage breaking peoples’ boundaries since they’re meant to be reblogged specifically by the people you say not to interact and akajsjaakkajajajajkkkkakkakskskakskskskskkakakakskddskkkkkksksjsjjaaakskkss [I am electrocuted by the eels]

Quick disclaimer before I start:
I do not want moral input, I will block anyone who tries to push things on me because I am not in the mood right now. I just want advice and maybe recipes or helpful resources.
Anyway, I am trying to go vegan in order to protect the environment. I am doing this specifically as a rebellion against capitalism and against environmental disregard, not because I think that using animal products is inherently bad no matter the context. My concern is with not putting monetary support toward the production of animal products, not with dogmatically avoiding them regardless of context. Yes, the capitalist methods of obtaining animal products are horrifically unethical but the black and white thinking of “animal products = bad, no exceptions” is also problematic. I don’t wanna get into that right now but maybe another time. I am only saying this to give context for what kind of advice I am looking for, not because I am willing to debate any of it here.
Anyway, I have been struggling a bit because I’m not entirely sure how to start? I don’t really know any good vegan recipes that aren’t way too expensive and I don’t wanna just eat salty rice and oatmeal every day, because that’s about what's in my pantry on an average day. I’m not the one in charge of shopping for my household and only buy food when I have a specific recipe so know it won’t go to waste. Do you have any favorite vegan recipes that are also affordable?
I also don’t know exactly how to go about figuring out what ingredients are vegan or not. I mean, I could google every individual one but at that point even doing small amounts of shopping for myself would take hours. I can do it, but I’m hoping there is an easier way that I’m just not thinking of. So like, are there any resources or strategies that make checking if something is vegan easier?
Then for non-food items I guess I just want to know are there any items made with animal products that you wouldn’t really expect to be that I should be aware of? Are there any lifestyle habits or swaps that you would suggest for avoiding these kinds of things?
And if you aren’t vegan, do you have any other advice of this nature that would also help with my goals? Maybe things that are just better for the environment in general?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

by all means let’s blame the people who raise farm and eat livestock to fucking survive, and the individual consumer who eats a ham sandwich every once in a while, rather than the oil executives and car culture, on the climate change that is caused by carbon emissions
vegans shut the fuck up.
