Ochlodes venatus Trivia time!

The name "karlątek" in it's Polish name refers to the small size of this butterfly, making it one of the smaller representatives of the skipper [powszelakowate] family. In fact, The body length does not exceed 20 mm, and the wingspan measures around 30 mm.

Okay, let's break this down for the new people here. There are 5 gods. Each nation on our continent worships one, except for Venatus that has two for some reason. All of them have the ability to grant a fraction of their power to their people. It's called a blessing but that's hardly an accurate title.

A general rule of thumb is that the more Blessed there are beneath a particular god, the more thinly spread the power is.

You have the Butterfly, the patron god of Castilla. If your first instinct is to scoff, well. At least you won't live to regret it. Her disciples will drink your blood, or better yet — your emotions*

*yes, in this case you won't actually regret it because you won't feel anything.

There's the dual gods of Venatus, Solaris and Lunaris. Solaris is a wolf, who blesses her chosen with a wolf form that emerges beneath the moonlight. Lunaris offers her children the ability to transform at will, but her creatures are usually more on the deceptive side. Foxes. Birds. That mess.

Cataega is the northmost content. Frigid and inhospitable, if you ask me. Only a handful of people have ever been known to receive the blessing of its god, the Leviathan. You can ask @abyssage more about it, but he'll probably lie.

And then there's the Phoenix, patron god of Renova. Unlike the others, the Phoenix blessing is passed down through one specific bloodline. As of right now, there's only one surviving Phoenix Blessed. This is the major exception to that rule I mentioned above. The Phoenix blessed isn't overwhelmingly powerful, even though he's the only one with that power.

It's better that way though. Trust me.

LoZ: Wild - More Meat Variety

Should the Wild Series have used a greater variety of meat to create a more expansive & complex culinary list?

It's possible that it could be this way due to how Link perceives meat in-general. Like, he just personally doesn't see a reason to differentiate between different kinds of meats.

Anyway, these are some of my ideas for the kinds of meats Nintendo could've used.

Poultry:

Cucco Drumstick = The drumstick of a Cucco.

- Cucco Thigh = The thigh of a Cucco.

- Whole Cucco = A whole Cucco.

White Drumstick = The drumstick of a Bright-Crest Duck, a Crown-Crested Swan, or a Heron.

- White Thigh = The thigh of a Bright-Crest Duck, a Crown-Crested Swan, or a Heron.

- Whole White = A whole Bright-Crest Duck, Crown-Crested Swan, or Heron.

Squab = The meat of a Sparrow, a Pigeon, a Seagull, or a Marriage Dove. (Though, it's illegal to kill Marriage Doves as it's said to curse one to never find love; you always get 2 from them, but why the hell would you do that, you monster?!)

Raptor = The meat of an Islander Hawk, an Owl, a Mountain Crow, or a Wastes Vulture.

Autruche = The meat of an Eldin, Forest, or Dunerunner Ostrich. Considered a red meat as it is very beefy.

Other Meats:

Pork = Meat from a Shroom-Snout Swine or Woodland, Red-Tusked, or War Boar.

Beef = Meat from a Hateno Cow, Tabanthan Ox, Water Buffalo, or Highland Yak.

Venison = Meat from a Mountain Deer. Wild game. Comes from the ancient Hyrulean word venatus meaning "to hunt."

- Prime Venison = The meat from a Grizzlemaw or Honeyvore Bear.

- Gourmet Venison = The meat from a Tabantha Moose.

Mutton = The meat of a Highland or Bighorn Sheep.

Chevon = Meat from a White, Mountain, or Ordon Goat.

Leup = The meat of a Maraudo or Cold-Footed Wolf or a Wasteland Coyote.

Vulp = The meat of a Grassland, Snowcoat, or Dusttail Fox.

Gammon = The meat of a Bushy-Tailed Squirrel, Meadow or Snowdrift Rabbit, a Wasteland Hare, or a Jackalope.

Serpe = The meat of a Treetop Boa, which lives in the Faron Jungle. The Sheikah refer to it as Kozue Boahebi Niku (梢ボアヘビ肉, Treetop Boa Snake Meat). But Lurelin natives call it Ēulu Mo'o Wili Ai.

Rangpar = The meat of a large reptile, such as Goponga Alligator or Faron Crocodile. A white meat that has a texture like a mix between fish & poultry with a slightly Cucco-like flavor. Called Kelokokile Ai by the residents of Lurelin.

Monster Meats:

Grangirino = The meat of a Little Frox. Only found in the Depths. Named by Mogma.

- Granfibio = The meat of a Frox. Only found in the Depths. Named by Mogma.

- Obsidian Granfibio = The meat of an Obsidian Frox. Considered to be the underground's equivalent to prime meat. Only found in the Depths. Named by Mogma.

- Blue-White Granfibio = The meat of a Blue-White Frox. Essentially gourmet meat in the underground. Only found in the Depths. Named by Mogma.

In all my time cataloguing invertebrates, I have YET to see phoresis/phoresy in person, so this was a complete treat for me!!!! I immediately dropped to my stomach to see these mites hitching a ride aboard an S. venatus weevil on its way to distant lands. Stuff like this, the glimpses of much smaller, more convoluted ecological dynamics like these, never fails to make me drop everything in pursuit of documenting it.

As far as Call of Duty omegaverse fic recs? I was reading Venator Et Venatus by TheFireInHerEyes on Ao3 before I started this fic (which I'm now behind on). I haven't gotten a chance to read many others for this fandom at least, but I know there's a few out there.

National Rail has launched an exciting new gaming campaign with Roblox, featuring train travel as the key mode of transport between Roblox Games in the virtual universe, a first of its kind initiative never seen before by the gaming world.

The campaign media planning and buying was led by Spark Foundry, National Rail’s media agency, via the specialist Gaming division Publicis Play - a division that offers clients an end-to-end gaming solution spanning media, production, data, commerce and creative. Working alongside National Rail’s creative agency Accomplice, Venatus a leading advertising solution in gaming, was responsible for the campaign concept and the gaming unit within Roblox.
