I love Wednesday, I loved the Netflix show (as in, despite everything that is wrong about it, Jenna's interpretation is freaking stellar, she's an excellent Wednesday)

I dressed like Wednesday for Halloween for so many years, the dress was made to my size and was fixed every time I grew out of it

I didn't know it back then but Wednesday was the first character I got to see myself in; because of the formal speech, barely expressive face and deadpan delivery more than the murder obsession. Adults and peers looked at me weird and never understood my humor, I was bullied and abused because of it (because I was weird) and it forced me to change everything about myself, it helped me survive but I'm still kinda weird and I still feel like an outcast, except that I'm an outcast and inauthentic which is worse

I really never imagined that at 23 I would watch a new adaptation of Wednesday and that would make me feel like I had permission to be myself, as authentic and off-putting as that might be. I've been smiling less and feeling happier, so I really couldn't not like the show...
