Crossover. Leah Williamson x reader.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based off this request. Thank you.
Exiting, that's how you would describe your life as a model. Yes there were the occasional hiccups but you mostly got to do very cool stuff and hang out with cool people. Your work took you everywhere but your home base was London. You started your career there and a large number of your followers come from there too.
The thing you loved the most about your job was the parties. They allow you to meet very interesting people, pick their brain and develop interesting g friendships.
Today was no different. Nike had a pretty high budget launch party for their new show line and you were invited. These parties were a little less formal than what you were used to going to, so you decided against a suit or a dress and settled for a black strapless and backless jumpsuit, a pair of black heels and some gold accessories. Your make up was elegant and your signature red lip was at its center.
Nike as always sent you a car to your house and you headed to the location of the event on time.
Upon arriving there you said hi to some people, talked to others, took some pictures at the event with some guests and drank champagne. The night was as regular as most of most launch parties were. Suddenly you were approached by one of the managers of the event.
“ Hey, so I wanted to introduce you to one of the faces of this launch. Miss Leah Williamson.” he says.
“ hi, nice to meet you, Miss williamson.” you say offering her your hand.
“ Hey, just Leah please.” she answers, shaking your hand
.” a fellow Brit I see. I haven't seen many of those tonight.”
“ glad i was among the few.” she answers. You two talked for a little while over a small table, each one of you nursing a drink. You both were making jokes trying to get one another to laugh or at least smile. There was definitely tension in the air and you both were flirtatious with one another.
“So Leah this has been one of the best nights I have had for a while. Thank you “ you say, squeezing her hand gently.
“Yeah it was fun for me too.” she responds with a disappointed tone. “Let me walk you to your car.”
While leaving the venue you hear a photographer say “ Miss Williamson would you like a picture?”. She looks over to you and you get into your usual pose instantly. While getting ready her hand slips perfectly on the small of your back applying the right amount of pressure.
While the photographer's flash was blinding you, you looked over to Leah and she did the same to you. You stood there getting your picture taken with a hot blonde after flirting with her all night. She made you feel safe with her hand on your back which you appreciated. She then walls you too you car.
“Tonight was fun.” You say leaning on the door.
“We should do this again sometime soon.” She replies with a small smile on her face.
“House about you come to one of our games. We will play in the Emirates soon. I think it would be a good experience.” She added.
“ Maybe.” You respond before getting in your car.
This night was gonna be unforgettable.
—----------------
Fact forward a few weeks you were back in England after being in Milan, Paris, and Japan for work. Well there first two were work , the last one was for fun since the F1 Japan grand prix was one of your favorites on the race calendar. You could say that that weekend was well spent. You hung out on the Ferrari paddock and did a lot of social media work. This work backfired on you because all people were talking about the whole weekend we're done moment that happened between you and a driver. Romers never bothered you, now it was different. Leah had followed you on Instagram after the event and you worried that she would believe them. As a result you decided to go to the arsenal game she talked about. Getting tickets was a Hassle because they were all sold out. But you managed to find a seat right next to the bench, very close to the field.
You showed up to the Stadium early. You hair was down, your makeup was simple, you wore jeans, a black button down and a Jersey over it, one that says Leah Williamson on the back, and you added a few gold accessories again.
Like Leah said the atmosphere was electric. You went to the VIP section first, got some food and a drink then you headed down to your seat. Leah didn't know you were coming; you wanted it to stay a surprise.
As soon as the players appeared on the pitch the whole strain erupted into cheers and chants. Those cheers only got louder when Arsenal scored 3 goals in 20 minutes which you were told was impressive.
After the half time break some players were running up and down the field. That's when she saw you. She held eye contact with you for a long time, a wide smile planted across her face. She had a look of pride, joy, and reassurance. You smiled back at her, clapped as she came on and sang and chanted loudly.
After the game was done the players were doing a lap around the pitch and when she saw you again. Another wide smile was painted on her face. She looked happy to be there and happy that you were there too.
She was then signing autographs, taking pictures and genuinely talking to people. She grew immensely in your eyes because of her thankful and humble demeanor. She then asked for you to follow her inside the stadium which you did.
“You clean up nice. I like your shirt “ she said with a cocky expression on her face.
“Well I saw a charming young lady at an event a few weeks ago and she hadn't left my mind ever since. I missed her and I thought I would come and see her. Turns out she is the best person in the world.” You respond.
“ Well I hope this girl gets to go have dinner with you because you two sound formidable.” She added
“ Maybe.” You respond
You wait for her to get ready and get out of the locker room. When she gets out, a few girls follow her and appear to be teasing her.
“ I swear if I hear from anyone you shit heads you won't like practice anymore.” She said to them. You simply wave to them as you two walk by then to Leah's car too which she opens the door.
“ Such a gentleman.” You exclaim.
“Well I have competition. That girl you were talking about is a catch.” She joked.
Leah was fun. She made you feel at ease and safe.
This was going to be a fun adventure.

cw. sakusa kiyoomi eats pussy, what more could you need
wc. 1800
Tumblr media
you met sakusa kiyoomi two years ago when he took over his father’s business. every monday and saturday at 4 pm, he knocked on the back door of your flower shop. big boxes filled with one the best flowers for you. it was also two years ago when you first opened the door for him that you realized you loved him. he was so sweet and kind, always taking time to ask about you and following up on events in your life. you figured he did this with everyone on his route. little did you know that your sweet kiyoomi did not ask questions about any of his other deliveries.
he was determined to get to know you, however long it took him. he knew the movies you saw, the terrible dates you went on, your favorite flowers and your least favorite customers. no detail was too small for him, because he did care about it all. he liked your passion for your work and your love for the people around you. ever since he knocked on that door monday at 4 pm two years ago he has loved you. he knows it crazy, and he can't rationalize it for the life of him but he knows it's the truth. he knows you probably don't reciprocate but god he can't help it.
“hey kiyoomi what did you bring for me today?” you say with a smiled as you prop open the door for him. the way you say his name makes him weak in the knees, he loves how comfortable you are around him. “besides my beautiful face, everything you had on your list and an extra case of snapdragons because i know you always run out by thursday.” he smiles at you and sets down the boxes. “you really are the best thank you” you say as you walk back over to the counter to continue cleaning roses. “how are you today my favorite florist?” he asks as he sets down the last three boxes in their designated spot. “busy and understaffed” you sigh. “glad to know things always stay the same around here” he smiles and hands you a clipboard for a signature.
he likes the way you sign your name, he can't explain it but it suits you. “you know you are the last delivery of the day, so is there anything i can do to help out?” he takes the clipboard back from you as you hold back from speaking for a moment. “i have so much to do are you sure?” you ask hoping it's not just pity. “i'm here for whatever you need” he says as he takes his hoodie off and sets his things down. you never realized how many tattoos he has, or how big his biceps were. maybe him staying was good for morale. “would mind cleaning some mums for me?” he nods and steps to the counter to start.
its quiet for a little, the silence isn't awkward though. you look over at him, he's so efficient. his hands are so perfect, how is he so perfect? his voice snaps you out of your trance. “how was that date you had last week?” he asks, not looking up from the flowers in his hands. “lets just say i won’t be seeing him again” you exhale softly, mentally pleading that the very attractive man across from you will not ask you to embarrass yourself further. kiyoomi laughs softly before speaking again, “i can't believe we have never hung out outside of work” he says as he continues to clean flowers. his heart was racing at this point, you made him so nervous he was hoping you couldn’t tell.
“i know it's so crazy! we have to do something soon” you say with a smile. “well what are you doing this weekend? there’s a new bar i want to check out and i’d love to take you.” “if i didn't know any better i would think you were asking me out on a date kiyoomi” you smile before looking up at him and making eye contact with him. “and what if i am?” he says still smiling, your cheeks were so hot, was he messing with you? “well i'd think you were joking” you say trying to control the tone of your voice. he sets his flowers down as he makes his way to the other side of the table where you stand with shaky hands.
“oh im dead serious pretty girl” he runs his hand along your jaw tilting your chin towards his face. he's smiling at you like you hung and the moon and stars just for him. hes so close all you can smell is his cologne, god did he always smell this good? you aren’t sure who leans in first but your lips touch and suddenly everything feels so right. hes holding your face in his hand but slowly becoming so desperate as he kisses you. the cold metal of his lip piercings feels so good against your lips. you can't seem to get enough of him and you wrap your arms around his neck. he taps your thighs as you wrap your legs around him, he gently sets you on the counter. he breaks away from the kiss breathless and rests his head against your shoulder “you're so perfect” he all but whimpers against the skin of your neck.
“i've wanted to kiss you for so long” you say as he kisses your neck, and you run your hands through his soft hair. he moans softly at the contact and lifts his head up to kiss you again. standing in between your thighs he wraps his hands around your waist, smiling into the kiss. he can't believe this moment is real, he can't believe he finally worked up the courage to to act on his feelings. the all too familiar jingle of the front door opening snaps the both of you out of your bliss. “fuck” you say as you hop off the counter, “hi ill be right there." you look back to kiyoomi “will you please stay i promise i'll be so quick”. he smiles “dont worry im not going anywhere sweetheart.” you smile and kiss him on the cheek before running off to the front.
this might be the happiest he’s ever been. you’re so soft and sweet and oh my god he loves how gentle you are with him. he loves the effect he has on you, in fact he may just never move from this spot in the hope that you kiss him like that again. “thank you have a great day” you chirp as your voice breaks him out of his trance. you appear into the doorway to the back of the door with a smile. “hi” you say as you make your way back over to him, “hi sweet girl” he wraps his arms around you again. “i close in about 30 minutes, will you come home with me?” you ask shocked by your own boldness. the way you are looking at him he thinks he might die. “god i'll be wherever you want me.” the effect you had on him was unreal. “let me drop off my truck and i'll be back in fifteen”, “be quick” you say as you twirl his hair with your fingers. have you always been this hot?
kiyoomi was convinced was losing his mind. he has never moved faster in his life. he doesn't even remember driving his motorcycle back to your shop. all he knew is that he was walking back into your shop with more determination than he's ever felt before. “hi handsome” you say as he drapes his body against yours. “almost done?” he asks as he kisses your cheek. “i have about fifteen minutes before i can go but i'm all done.” you turn to kiss him as he plays with the waistband of your jeans. the kiss is messy and hot, he felt weak in the knees. “i can think of a few things to pass the time” he says as he breaks away from the kiss.
you smile looking up at him, his face was flushed and you could help but be proud of the effect you had on him. “please let me eat you out” your jaw drops at his words. “here?” you ask and he grins “here” he says as he drops to his knees in front of you. you could finish from just looking at this beautiful large man on his knees in front of you. “god please” he's quick to unzip your pants and slide them down your legs. he places small kisses along your thighs as he moves to put your legs on his shoulders. he kisses you through your underwear and you whimper softly. sliding your underwear to the side he starts softly using his tongue, and puts a finger inside you as he continues.
you grip his hair and squeeze your thighs against his head as he quickened his pace. “harder” he whimpers into you and you squeeze harder. god his tongue piercing is incredible. you are getting close to finishing, and he can tell. he moans into you like this is pleasuring him just as much as it is you. “more kiyo” you moan out. he moves faster as he inserts another finger. the nickname could have made him cum in his pants. you are quickly approaching your high as you stutter out an “im close” he's moving faster than before, focused on you and only you. he's eating you out like a man starved, the cold metal of his piercing mixed with the warmth of his fingers had you seeing stars.
you moan his name as you finish and he cleans you up with his tongue. your legs were shaking as he stands up and licks the rest of you off of his slender fingers. “you're so incredible” you say as you wrap your arms around him and kiss him, the taste of you still on his tongue. “i've been dying to do that for two years” he says as he pulls away from you. “i love you kiyoomi” you say looking him in the eyes, "i've been dying to tell you that for two years" mustering the courage to confess everything to him. “god i love you” he says cupping your face in his hands as he kisses you again. “i love you i love you i love you” he says softly in between kisses. "ill spend forever making you feel it."

RACING HEARTS - Part I: Miami
Tumblr media
Well hello,
Life happened, and I didn’t write a fanfic in … three years, lol.
I did write an actual book and will probably publish it sometime next year – but I needed a break from it. So here’s a small something (don’t know if it’s going to be a series, no promises here)
Anyway, I’m back and enjoy
Mae
Summary: y/n is an influencer who is doing very well currently. She has no interest in F1 and only watches races because her little brother is a huge fan. So when a sponsor offers her passes for the Miami weekend with Mercedes, she cannot refuse and decides to surprise her little brother.
But will he be the only one to be surprised?
Warnings: none, just fluff
Word count: 3.2k
Part II here
Friday Practice Sessions
It was hot. You expected the sun to be out because it was Miami, after all, and you were glad you went with that light summer dress you got gifted by a brand after the Paris fashion week a few months ago.
The paddock was full of celebrities, some you recognized and had seen before, and others you were simply starstruck to encounter in such a casual environment. Especially since it was still Friday, not even the actual race day.
Of course, the Miami F1 weekend was big, and getting paddock tickets was a big deal. And even if you suddenly forgot how lucky you were, your little brother was there to remind you.
Of course, you worked hard to get to where you were now. A few years back, brands couldn’t care less about you. You had to work hard, take your content to the next level, and be consistent—all that while working two jobs to invest in what you knew you were born to do.
And it paid off. You were still shocked when people you’d only seen on TV knew your name or actors you fangirled on started conversing with you in red carpet lines.
But really, days like today were what you were most grateful for. The best part of your work was making the people you loved enjoy life, and your brother was ecstatic. With the big age gap between you, you hadn’t had many opportunities to bond. Your brother was eighteen years younger than you and was born after your mother remarried and finally found the happiness she deserved.
You loved your brother more than anything, but he wasn’t usually the most talkative nine-year-old boy around.
Maybe he’d talked more since you’d arrived in Miami than he had this entire year.
But it suddenly stopped when you got to the sponsor’s hospitality suit. Your brother was speechless as soon as he saw the car on display. You found it funny, recording all his reactions to share with your mom later.
“Y/n, this is crazy. Look how big the tires are!” your brother said, kneeling in front of the car.
You laughed and nodded. It still wasn’t your scene, but he made it exciting to be there.
The sponsor’s hospitality suit was something else. Honestly, you weren’t expecting that level of comfort. You had access to free drinks and personalized merch, and they even told you one of the drivers would give you a tour of the circuit later.
“Do you think we’ll see Lewis today?” Your brother asked
You chuckled. You may have been a novice in F1, but Lewis Hamilton, that was a name you recognized.
Not only because he was your little brother’s hero but because you had seen him from afar a few times at events over the years.
“I don’t think so, but we’ll definitely see him drive.”
And, of course, you were wrong.
About an hour after you made that statement, a few gasps, including your brother’s, distracted you from your phone, and you looked up.
They were pretty far from where you stood, but you could see them. Lewis and George were there, all smiles and already talking to people.
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Y/n, do you see what I see?!” your brother cried out.
You couldn’t help but laugh again. Your brother, who was usually so reserved, was so excited you barely recognized him.
“Well, let’s go meet them before you pass out,” you said, taking his hand.
You made your way to the small group around the drivers, waiting patiently for a chance to interact. You could tell your brother was getting more nervous, his gentle and timid nature taking over.
It was George who noticed and approached you first. He shook your hand and nicely introduced himself to both of you. Your brother tried to keep it cool, only betrayed by how he squeezed your hand. It was only when he asked for a picture with George that things took a turn.
“What tires do you think you’ll use tomorrow? Please don’t go for the hard again; your car is already lacking pace,” your brother suddenly asked.
George looked surprised by the question, and you couldn’t help but laugh. Yep, the geek was back with a vengeance.
Maybe it was George’s face or your loud laugh, but something caught Lewis’ attention, and he stared in your direction before approaching.
“Y/n?” Lewis said, now, close to your small group
George raised an eyebrow. “You guys know each other?”
Lewis did not break eye contact with you and nodded. “You can say that we’ve bumped into each other before.”
You bit your lip. You wished he had forgotten that. It was the weirdest exchange you’d ever had. You did talk to Lewis once in New York. The event organizer had introduced you, and Lewis was a sweetheart. He was all smiles and shook your hand. He had introduced himself in such a humble way as if half the world did not know who he was.
But when it was your turn to introduce yourself, things went wrong. You couldn’t pinpoint what destabilized you so much, his angelic face or how he looked at you, but you mumbled something you weren’t sure he understood and then said the most cringy thing ever. ‘I love your dog’
The awkward gene was either running in the family, or there was something about F1 drivers that brought out people's weirdness.
“I didn’t think you’d remember that,” you finally said, blinking a few times.
“Oh, I do remember,” Lewis said with a mischievous smile.
Your brother squeezed your hand, reminding you that people were still around you.
“Oh, and this is my little brother, y/b/n. He’s a huge fan of yours,” you said
Lewis kneeled in front of your brother to be at his height. “Nice to meet you, y/b/n. I’m Lewis.”
Your brother frowned and looked at Lewis, then the hand that he was reaching out to him.
Watching your baby brother meet his idol was the funniest thing, and you took out your camera to record it.
Your brother finally shook Lewis’s hand, telling him how much he loved him.
“Aww,” you whispered, watching the interaction from your camera lens.
Lewis looked up at you and smiled before focusing again on your brother. He spent a good ten minutes talking to you both, answering every question your brother had, and even laughing with you at the odd ones your brother shot his way.
“Lewis, we have to go.” a man approached you and said
Lewis finally stood up and looked at you with a huge smile. You could feel your cheeks getting warmer and tinkling. Lewis was hot, making it even more destabilizing because he wasn’t even trying. His natural charm and kindness were already enough, but his looks were just a bonus - A bonus you weren’t complaining about.
“It was really nice chatting with you. And I can’t wait to compete against you in a few years, big guy.” Lewis said
Your brother frowned. “I’m still karting; you will be gone by the time I’m in F1.”
Lewis laughed, not at all offended by your brother taking things so literally.
“I’ll try to wait for you.”
He smiled one last time at you before saying goodbye.
None of you said a word for a few minutes. Both of you sinking in what had just happened.
“Lewis Hamilton is a cool guy,” your brother finally said
“Yep, he is,” you said, chuckling.
Your brother had explained what would happen today, but you did not pay attention to his explanation. But now, it suddenly felt more interesting than you thought it would be.
The cars were fast—faster than on TV, and nothing compared to the many karting races you’ve watched your brother run.
“And they do that for hours on Sunday?” you asked
“Yep,” your brother said, a massive smile on his face.
You could tell he was imagining himself in one of those fast cars one day. And you promised yourself to do whatever you could to help him achieve his dreams.
Lewis did great during the practice sessions, at least according to your brother's detailed commentary when you asked him if he enjoyed his day.
You were about to leave the paddock with your brother when you heard someone shout your name.
You turn around to find a man running after you. You frowned, trying to remember if you knew him but couldn’t remember ever meeting that person.
Still, you stopped, waiting for him to reach you.
“I’m so sorry for screaming like that. I’m Jamie, I’m on Lewis’s PR team.”
“Oh, okay…”
You weren’t sure what to say or why someone from Lewis’ team was looking for you. You patiently waited for the man to catch his breath and tell you what was happening.
“Sorry… you two walk pretty fast, you know,” he said, chuckling
He then handed you two yellow passes. You were even more confused.
“These are VIP tickets for tomorrow and Sunday. Lewis wanted you to have it.”
The confusion was only growing now. Why did Lewis want you to have VIP tickets? Weren’t the paddock tickets already VIP ones? This day, this sport was only getting weirder by the second.
Jamie must have spotted your confusion because he proceeded to explain what the tickets would allow you to do. Basically, they would allow you access to the garage, the cars, and the Mercedes team during the races.
“Sick!” your brother said, excited.
You thanked him and returned to your hotel, wondering why Lewis gave you the tickets.
Once in your hotel room, you kept thinking about it. You decided not to read too much about it and to accept that it must be a kind gesture to your little brother. Lewis must have seen how passionate he was about F1 and what a gift it would be for someone like him to watch the races up close, next to the people who actually made it happen.
It had to be why because you refused to believe it could be more. You refused to believe it could be about you.
You decided to share some content on your social media to change your mind. After all, that was why you were offered the tickets in the first place.
You went on Instagram, ready to share more about the day on your feed, but you couldn’t help but go on Lewis’s profile. You had a huge smile when you saw his latest post, a picture of him and Roscoe entering the paddock earlier today.
You were about to leave his page when something odd caught your attention. It said follow back, not just follow. You went blank for a few seconds before realizing what was going on.
He followed you. It couldn’t have happened a long time ago; it had to be today. So you scrolled through your notifications and found it. He did start following you today, and just like that, your mind started spiralling again.
You followed him back but did not say anything. Again, you preferred to avoid any assumptions.
Saturday Qualifications
It was very hot, just like the day before. But there were more people today, as the qualification sessions were more entertaining and significant.
Your brother was super excited about seeing the actual racing cars and being able to touch them. He even knew some of the engineers’ names and couldn’t wait to meet them.
When you arrived at the Mercedes motorhome, Jamie met you, the same guy who gave you the tickets the day before. He gave you a small tour of the place, and your brother took pictures of the most basic things.
You passed George’s room, but he was busy, and you couldn’t say hi. But when you were in front of Lewis’s room, you found yourself hoping you could see him. Just to thank him for the tickets, you told yourself.
“Look who we’ve got here. Hello guys,” Lewis said when he saw you
He gave your brother a fist bump before turning to you. Suddenly, you didn’t know what to do, give him a fist bump too, or just wave or…
You didn’t have time to overthink it as Lewis pulled you into a quick hug. It wasn’t that deep; it could even be classified as a half hug, but still, it was enough for your heart to miss a bit.
You could feel his toned arm around you and how he smelled so good. Again, your cheeks were starting to betray you, so you looked down.
“Thank you for the tickets, Lewis. Y/b/n is never going to forget this weekend.”
“I’m happy he’s having fun. I hope you’re having fun, too.”
“Oh, I am. Not gonna lie, I’m not the big fan here; he is,” you said, pointing at your brother, who was now talking with an engineer. “But it’s growing on me. I don’t know if it’s the special treatment or the actual driving, but I like it,” you said, laughing.
Lewis was still looking at you; his smile didn’t move. It only became more mischievous. “We can test that theory right now.”
Something told you the driver was up to no good. “I’m not sure I like this look, Lewis,” you said
He laughed this time. His laugh was just contagious.
A few minutes later, with a few waivers signed and a helmet on your head, you were inside a car with Lewis on the other side.
“Did I mention that I don’t like speed? I did, right? I barely passed my driving license; I don’t even like cars,” you mumbled as he started the engine.
The people outside were laughing; even your brother was laughing outside, recording it all. Everybody found it funny, but you didn’t.
“Please don’t go too far,” you said, turning to face Lewis
He had that smile again. The one that clearly stated that he was up to no good. “Now, where would be the fun in that?”
You didn’t have time to argue as he started the car. The sound alone made you scream. He was fast. You could feel your heart beating; it felt like being in the front row of a roller coaster.
“Oh my god! Lewis!” you screamed again as he took a corner at a speed you couldn’t comprehend.
“So, do you like the sport more now?” he asked you, smiling
“Hell no, this is madness,” you said, relieved as you could see the garage getting closer
“Wrong answer,” Lewis said, accelerating again and missing the stop line.
“Lewis!” you screamed, but he had found it amusing because he went even faster, something you didn’t think was possible at this stage. “Oh my god, I’m so going to die.”
He laughed. “No, you’re not. I’m a seven-time champion, remember?”
“Eight. My brother told me eight.” You said, knowing exactly what you were doing.
“I knew I liked you for a reason,” Lewis said, laughing
In the end, you did three laps. The last one was the worst. You screamed so much Lewis couldn’t stop laughing. It was pure chaos.
When you got out of the car, you immediately removed your helmet and turned around to Lewis.
“You do that for a living? Are you okay?” you asked
He laughed again. “This doesn’t even get close to the feeling you get in the actual racing car, you know.”
You turned around to look at your brother, who was still recording. Suddenly, you were happy that he was too young to have the same experience.
“And you want to do that later too? You want to drive like a crazy person for a living?”
He just nodded as if it was the silliest question ever.
You spent another hour with Lewis and the crew, talking about the car and watching them prepare for the qualifying session.
Even when the atmosphere got more serious, Lewis was still pleasant, talking to you and making you feel included. He took the time to explain some basic things. Things that your little brother did not have the patience or time to explain to you. Y/b/n had found a spot close to the pit wall and was too mesmerized to pay attention to you.
You watched as Lewis and George completed their laps. The team seemed pretty happy with the final results. While they did not get pole position, Lewis ended up P3 and George P5. That was good enough, considering how they started the season.
Race Day
Your brother was awake before the sun even rose. He sang in the shower, repeating every five seconds that it was race day like you didn’t know.
He would make you hate the sport at this pace instead of liking it.
Y/b/n insisted that you both wear some Mercedes merch you were gifted the day before, and of course, no was not an answer he was willing to take.
So you ended up in the garage, wearing a white Mercedes t-shirt with George’s 63 in the back.
The atmosphere was different; it felt electric, and you liked it. You couldn’t experience backstage that way in any other sport.  And it didn’t hurt to have Tom Cruise next to you, making jokes and chatting as if you were old friends.
“Now, that’s offensive.”
You recognized Lewis’s voice before you even turned around. He was already in his race suit, sunglasses on. That man knew what he was doing for sure.
It took you a few seconds to remember what he just said. You asked what he meant, and he removed his sunglasses, using them to point at your t-shirt.
“After the thrills I gave you, you’re rocking George’s number on your back? I’m offended, y/n”
You laughed and explained yourself. “There was no way I was wearing that purple sweater under this heat, Lewis. It was the only white t-shirt my brother was okay with me wearing.”
“So you would have worn mine if it weren’t for the heat?” he asked, smirking.
Again, you could feel your cheeks betraying you. But you didn’t back down. You stared right at him and nodded. “Yes, I’m more of a 44 girl.”
“I like that,” Lewis said, smiling at you.
As much as you wanted to ignore it, you couldn’t. It was there. You liked the smiles, those little stares, and the attention Lewis gave you. At this stage, it was pure attraction; you didn’t know him that well, but the little you had seen only made you more attracted to him. The way he was always laughing and how he treated your brother and his team. You wouldn’t say no to getting to know him better.
You watched the race, finding yourself rooting openly for him and celebrating with the team when he finished at the second place.
You watched him celebrate with his loved ones; the champagne part was definitely your favourite. Nobody told you that you got to see hot, sweaty men - especially Lewis - pouring champagne and getting champagne poured at them.
A sight for sore eyes indeed.
Things got hectic after the race. Between the interviews Lewis had to do, the other people he had to meet, and the flight you had to catch as your brother had school the following day – you didn’t have time to say goodbye.
It felt unfinished. You wished you had time to talk more, but you were still happy you and y/n/b got to experience that.
You were already in your seat on the plane when you got the notification from Instagram. You couldn’t help but grin as you read it.

Watkins Glen 2024
I was sad to not be there in person, since Watkins Glen is my local track, but with work and work deadlines as they are this month, I just couldn't. My next weekend/day off is in mid-October, and YES, I am counting down. It was still cool to be so intimately familiar with the layout of the track, though, having both driven and bicycled the track this year. <333
I also think it's SUPER cute they repainted all the rumble strips NASCAR flag colors. Normally they're just red and yellow, without the blue!
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THEM. SO CUTE. SO PRIMARY.
As to the race itself: I am a BUNDLE OF NERVES this Round of 16 because every track is such a wildcard. And rightly so, from Lap 1!!!! The carnage was immediate (oof) and the intensity never let up (amazing but also I passed away 17 times). Considering what *happened* to everyone I'm surprised the points are still so close (and so healthy, for people like Reddick, WB, and Blaney [to still be P8 in the playoffs despite running approximately 1 minute of this 2.5-hour race??]). And considering the state of the 11 and how deeply P34 he was all day, -6 is a blessing, too, to be honest.
Xfinity murdered 100% of the Kyles (Sieg and Weatherman), so I'm glad that Cup only murdered 50% of the Kyles (though KyBu did manage to get murdered twice). For the 5 today, I was hoping for an uneventful mid-pack finish and was actually gifted an eventful but non-deleterious mid-pack finish, so that was great. He was all over the field all day, which was fun to watch--working up to P8 from P20, then to the back, and further back, and a fun joust with Zane Smith and Joey. All over the track and all over the leaderboard, really working for it. He was out for blood with Zane, lol.
And the finish was badass, ngl. I have not yet recovered from witnessing, in person, back-to-back Buescher and McDowell wins last year, but this was still very cool for Buescher. Hats off to SVG as well.
The specter of Bristol? And weird tire Bristol (which I'd forgotten about from spring)??? Terrifying.

Title: Soaring Onto the Future
Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds
External: AO3 / SquidgeWorld
Summary: Crow now has to choose a future for himself. At the end of the line, is it just the beginning?
Crow was making his deliveries when he noticed the recruiter behind him. “Are you still following me?”
“Should Crow Hogan the conquer of the WRPG waste away here? I will follow you to the depths of hell.”
Crow could feel a headache coming on dealing with this guy.
“I’ve already given my answer.” Crow said, exasperation written on his face.
That won’t stop the persistent recruiter. He threw a letter to Crow that he caught with ease and that was that.
Crow speed off to the community center. He has been thinking about his future. For now he was comfortable where he is. This league in particular was overseas. He did not want to separate from the others, not after everything they’ve been through.
After the events of the Ark Cradle, the Signers have fallen into a life of normalcy. However, lately things have gotten interesting.
He had not made it far into the community center before Ryoko rushed up to him.
“Crow!” Her hair swayed as she approached him. She grabbed his arm leading him to the office “Glassouffle-sensei! Here he is!”
Talking with Muckraker was a green haired lady in a green gown that reminds Crow of a bow-tie. She had a blue scarf around her neck. She adjusted her glasses as she turned to face the duo. An air of elegance was engraved into her every movement.
Crow recognized her from the many events the community center hosted for kids. He really enjoyed having her around. She often gave him advice on have to teach and how to handle the children. If it were not for her tips on how to plan lessons, Crow’s little dueling class would be a mess. Since there were no events, he wondered what brought her here.
“Crow, I am glad to catch you.” Her soft voice rang. “I hope this is a good time. I will not take much of it.”
Ryoko and Muckraker exited the room to give them some privacy.
“Don’t worry about it.” Crow said.
“Very well. Then to get started, Crow have you thought about a future in teaching?”
“Huh?” Crow went wide eyed. He always did enjoy sharing his knowledge. His instruction was a bit rusty, but with the help of Glassouffle he was able to refine his teaching skills. At some point she must’ve saw potential in Crow. In all honesty teaching was the last thing on his mind. He didn’t thinking schools would want someone tagged with Markers.
Glassouffle must have felt his troubled feelings. “Are you worried about your Markers? You won’t have to worry about that. With me as your reference that will not be a problem.”
“I don’t know what to say.” Crow’s voice faltered, filled with uncertainty.
“I have seen the joy you express with the children and teaching them. We need more teachers like you. So please give it some thought.” Glassouffle gives him her information. “I must be on my way now. I really do hope you consider this opportunity.”
Crow stood there in disbelief. First the duel league offer and now this. He felt like was being pulled in two different directions. He was so lost in thought that he did not notice Ryoko enter the room.
“Is everything okay?” she asks.
“Yeah… just a lot to think about…. Sorry I can’t volunteer today.”
Crow returned to his duel runner. It was late in the day, he called Yusei at his job. He wasn’t sure what to say. Backing out was not an option anymore when Yusei’s face appeared on screen. Somehow, they managed some small talk and caught up with each other on their lives.
“How are things with you?” Yusei asks.
“Blackbird Delivery service is booming in business. To think my business would be this successful.” Crow’s voice waivered at the end.
“Crow, what is it?”
“Ah! It’s nothing.”
“Didn’t you call me because you needed something?”
“Well… we haven’t met in a while, so I just wanted to see how you were doing.”
“Crow why don’t we all get together? Let’s all eat together this weekend.” Yusei suggested.
“That’s a great idea! I’ll ask around. But there’s one person who’s a problem.”
It was Jack. He was always a problem that had to be solved. Sometimes Crow wondered if Jack really understood their bond.
-
The day of the party was here before anyone knew it. Everyone showed up on time and everything was great. That was until it wasn’t. The air was pretty heavy. As much as everyone wanted this to be a happy time, the jovial mood could not last. It was only a matter of time before things got sour.
It started when Crow had asked Akiza what she wanted to do after graduating. Spurned by not knowing what to do, she lashes out at Crow. The red-haired duo began yelling at each other much to everyone’s discomfort. It was when Leo shouted that he and Luna received a call from their parents. They wanted to live together, but the twins will have to leave the city. They were undecided on what to do. They didn’t want to leave the city.
Everyone was silent. The only noise filling the void was the sizzle of the grill.
“Crow and Akiza, you two are also wondering what to do?” Yusei said. “Crow you received an offer from an overseas pro league. Akiza is about studying abroad at a medical university.”
This surprised both of them.
“I also got an offer to be a teacher at Duel Academy.” Crow said. “I kind of don’t know what to pick….”
“It’s kind of hard to picture you as a teacher Crow.” This earned Leo a jab from his sister.
Yusei placed the food on the table.
“Yusei, how did you know about me.” Akiza wondered.
“Your parents asked me to discuss it with you.” Yusei replied.
Silance befell the group again. None of them wanted to discard the bond between them.
All except one person. Jack had finally arrived and told the group that he decided to leave the city to join Ride Ace duel league. An air of uncertainty hung over the group as Jack completely disregards their bond.
“Jack, duel me. Dueling has always guided us. Since we’re confused, we should find the answer by dueling.” Yusei declared.
-
As Crow watched his brothers duel it hit him. He thought back to his time at the community center. How he enjoyed teaching the kids there dueling methods and watching them beam with happiness. The knowledge he gained from Pearson; he could teach for years to come. He could help children make their own futures.
‘In that case….'
The duel between Yusei and Jack ended in Yusei’s victory. They all declared their futures. All that was left was to head towards it.
-
“I’m going to become a teacher.” Crow said aloud. He glanced at the grave that was now decorated with fresh flowers. “I got an opportunity to teach kids. I get to pass on my knowledge, the knowledge you gave me.”
It clicked. Without realizing it, Crow became exactly what Pearson set out to do. He was ashamed it took him this long to see it.
“I’ll still be in the city. This works out because I can take care of the kids and help out Martha. Just because I’m still here doesn’t mean I can’t spread my wings.”
He watched the sun dip behind the horizon.
“If I hadn’t met you, who knows where I’ll be….”
Pearson had mad a huge impact on Crow’s life. Meeting his mentor reignited his will to live on. Crow wanted nothing more than to keep Pearson’s dream alive. He faced the gravestone and said,
“Thank You.”
The words he never got to say to Pearson.
-
Everyone was lined up, ready for one last ride together.
“This is our last run!” Yusei calls out, and they all speed off.
From above the Crimson Dragon lets out a mighty roar. All the Signer marks began to glow. They detach themselves from everyone’s arm and return to the Crimson Dragon. They weren’t needed anymore. Their mission was finished.
Yusei accelerates and Crow stops just ahead of him. Both raised their hands for a high-five.
First it was Jack, the Akiza, then Luna with Leo ending it off. Their backs get further and further out of sight as they each take a different fork in the road. Then they were gone.
The duo left behind smiled at each other before driving back to the city.
“Hey Yus.”
“Hmm?”
“Did you at least give Akiza a big smooch before she left.” Crow made a kissy face. Yusei’s face turned red at Crow’s teasing. Both of them laughed. However, Crow never got an answer.
“Don’t tell anyone, but I’m glad that someone stayed behind.” Yusei admits.
“Don’t get your hopes up. I think I will leave the city one day. Now is just not that time.” Crow said. “I think you will leave one day too.”
Yusei balked at that idea. But some part of him believed it too.
“Until then, I have an entrance exam to study for.” Crow says.
Yusei held his hand up for a high-five. Crow speeds by him clapping his hand. The road came to a split and the duo each took the opposite paths.
Crow Hogan – Age 27 (8 years later)
“It’s great to have you back.” Glassouffle adjusted her glasses. “I would love to hear about your three-year tenure at Duel Academy Island.”
“It was an experience.” Crow smiled thinking back on his time. “I am happy to be back home.”
It was time to head to class. When he opened the door, he was greeted with some familiar faces.
“No way! It really is coach Crow!” Allie exclaims.
“I doubt he remembers us. It’s been too long.” Amanda says. Next to her Guu shake her head and dons a knowing smile on her face.
“He… knows exactly who we are….”
“Hey big brother!” Ginga had cheeky grin on his face. He was surrounded by Dachi, Taiga, and Hikari.
“Big- um Crow-sensei.” Kokori walks up to him. “I am your student teacher assistant. Please teach me well.”
Kokori playfully stuck out her tongue and winked at him.
“Hmm, could he be a laid-back teacher?”
“Don’t even think about it Frank. He is actually pretty strict.” Amanda warns him. Frank instantly dissolves all plans of tomfoolery.
Crow could tell this was going to be an interesting batch of students. He took a deep breath to ready himself.
“Hello everyone! Let’s get started!
I have a lot to teach you."

So guys I'm thinking about going on a hiatus from April 17th to late May. Since it's the end of the year I want to make sure I stay focused on school and don't get distracted cause I know I will and I'm trying to stay be more responsible! The same goes for Twitter too cause I'll get distracted on there too lol! Which means I'll be deleting the apps for now cause I know myself very well, I know ill take a peak and then ill get distracted and it wont be good. I have some edits I'll schedule for today and tomorrow I do need to dial down on the time I'm on here cause I'm active almost all day during the weekend and still quite a few hours during the weekdays what I'm trying to say is I do kinda need a break to be healthy! But I promise I'll be back don't worry! To be honest I've been needing to do this for a while. I think when I come back I'm going to limit my time on here to be more healthy and productive! I also reblog and make edits way too much so I'm going to dial that down as well. No one rely has said oh you need to stop posting so much I just something I think is best! Something else is im also a big procrastinator so sadly social media doesn't really help with that fact. So I just keep putting stuff off which I shouldn't do now it's not completely social media either it's me not being responsible, but I think it's important and good that I know what I'm doing is wrong and trying to be better! As I've said a million times before thank you all, you all have been so kind and sweet, and honestly I'm really glad I joined tumblr. Now the only reasons I'll be active during this hiatus is if speak now tv is released and because of the pride event. I'll be active for the next two days but Monday starts the hiatus! I'm gonna miss you all so much! 💗

Ficlet: Brother Knows Best
Title: Brother Knows Best
Word count: 1286
Rating: Gen
Characters: Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins (mention of Becky Lynch/Seth Rollins)
Prompt:  "I need advice" (time passes) "never mind I already did the stupid thing"
"I need advice."
Roman sighed and shut his eyes, swinging his legs over the side of the lounge chair and standing up. He was glad Seth had matured enough to the point where he would at least ask for advice; now the trick was getting him to actually use it. Roman had been out of action for just over three months now, receiving treatment and focussing on his health, but it still felt like he was backstage, worrying about his Shield brothers. Dean wasn't happy with the direction the company wanted him to go, so Roman mostly listened to him vent and they would talk about his options. Seth, though, was another story completely. He had definitely grown since the days of his social media scandals, but he felt strangely adrift. Roman had Galina and Dean had Renee, but Roman knew a relationship wasn't a quick fix for anything. In Seth's case, it often seemed to make his problems worse.
"No, you don't," Roman said patiently. "It's Royal Rumble weekend. All you need to think about right now is winning the damn thing and getting the WrestleMania main event you deserve. That's it." He walked past his wife, mouthed Seth, and walked away from the pool, where his kids were playing.
"But I want to do something and... well, it might be stupid, but—"
"What you want is to win the Royal Rumble and be in the main event at WrestleMania, right?" Roman pressed, shuffling his bare feet through the grass. The Royal Rumble was one of his favourite events and he hated to miss it, but he wanted to be sure he was safe to return to action. Still, it felt strange to watching his Shield brothers on TV and not from backstage.
Seth's voice tightened a bit. "Yes, but—"
"Then go and win and beat Brock. That's my advice." Roman stood under a tree and let the shade creep over him for a moment. "Whatever you called for—can it wait? Does it need to be today? Because you need to focus, bro, but more than that, you need to enjoy this. Most people only get one Rumble win. Scratch that—most wrestlers don't have any. Getting one is a milestone, so the fact that you're in line for one is huge."
"I know." Seth sighed. "And I know it's all up in the air until the night of. You don't have to remind me."
"Apparently I do. Enjoy this, Seth. Enjoy it all. You never know when it could slip away." Roman didn't want to turn the conversation around to himself—or to play the 'cancer card' as some wrestling journalists had crudely accused him of doing—but he wanted to make sure his Shield brothers made the most of their moments. Having grown up with so many family members in the business, Roman knew better than most how fleeting and fickle popularity and momentum could be, and that you had to utilize them when you had them.
"I will. I promise."
"You're going to be amazing," Roman said firmly. "Now go get some rest, okay? Relax."
Seth's chuckle filled the line. "Rest? Old man, it's not even six o'clock here!"
"Well, just remember that when you call me to celebrate your victory, okay? Love you." As Roman disconnected, he felt a vague pang of guilt for cutting Seth off, but he knew that Seth was usually his own worst enemy. If he wasn't overthinking something, he was being too impulsive; there was very little middle ground with his youngest Shield brother. Sometimes he needed someone to just snap him out of it, and Roman hoped that was the case today.
He completely forgot about the call until he was watching the Royal Rumble with his kids, his daughter still doing victory laps because Becky Lynch had won the women's Royal Rumble despite not strictly being an entrant. Since Joelle was hollering at the top of her lungs, he almost didn't hear his phone ring. "Hey, Seth. Sorry about the noise. Gimme a minute. Got a very happy Man fan in the house." Roman got out of his recliner and stepped into the hallway.
"Remember how I said I needed advice?"
Roman winced. That wasn't an ideal way to start a phone call, especially on Royal Rumble night when Seth hadn't wrestled yet. "Yeah?"
"Never mind. I already did the stupid thing."
The stupid thing? Roman tried to remember if Seth had given any specifics, but he really hadn't given his Shield brother a chance to say much of anything. "What stupid thing?" he asked warily. "Do I even want to know?" He ducked back into the den, grabbed his tablet off the table, and did a quick search for Seth Rollins, but nothing horrible came up.
"I kissed Rebecca."
"What?" It took Roman a moment to place the name. Becky was one of the few in WWE who used a version of her real first name for her ring name, but he tended to call her Becky regardless of where they were. "Like… Becky?"
"Yeah." Judging from the pitch of his voice, Seth was practically vibrating with excitement. "Well, we kissed each other. I can't remember who started it. It doesn't matter. No—no, wait, it was probably me. Whatever. We kissed."
"Why?" Roman felt like he was ten again, wondering why some of his older cousins were so suddenly obsessed with girls. "You guys have been friends for years…."
"I know, but…." Roman could practically hear Seth blushing. "We've been hanging out a lot lately and it's… it's been really nice and—"
Roman glanced back into the den, where Joelle had swept up one of her brothers into her victory dance. "But Becky…?" If Seth ended up breaking her heart, Roman was fairly certain Joelle would challenge him to a cage match. Becky's fucking beloved backstage, Roman thought. If he messes this up, he'll never hear the end of it.
"I know, I know, but… I really like her, Roman. It's so easy being around her. I don't have to think. I can just be myself…." The softness in Seth's voice reminded Roman of the hazy happiness of just waking up, still half-caught in a dream.
Stop. Think. It was advice he often gave his daughter—and his Shield brothers—and Roman knew it was simple but effective. The kiss itself might have been a stupid decision, but Seth seemed radiantly happy, so that meant it probably went well. "And it's mutual? Becky seems to like you?"
"Yeah. I mean, she kissed me back and said—"
"No details," Roman said quickly. "Save that for later. You have a Rumble to win, remember?" In the background, he could hear the familiar clatter of backstage chaos.
"Huh?" Roman could practically picture Seth's eyes going wide. "Right, right. I'll call you later. I just wanted to let you know, because…."
Roman smiled to himself. Well, if it works out, Joelle will be over the moon to have Becky as an auntie. He leaned against the door frame and sighed. "I know. Good luck tonight." He thought about elaborating for a moment, but didn't. If Seth wanted things to work out with Becky, he'd need some luck there too. "Love you, bro."
After disconnecting, Roman lingered in the doorway for a moment, watching his daughter explain parts of the match to her younger brothers. When noticed him staring, she asked, "Everything okay, Dad? Who was on the phone?"
"Just Uncle Seth," he replied, coming back into the room and giving her a hug before he sat down. "And everything's good. I think he's going to have a really good night tonight."

Being a best friend was still a weird concept for Shouto. Especially when your two best friends were complete opposites of each other. From the loud but barely speaking Bakugou, to the low mumbling and talkative Midoriya. But somehow they make it work.
And on such a day like today, Shouto wondered what chaos would present itself. Growing up, he had always stuck to the same routine. Barely changing, unless his father was in a mood and decided he had to stop enjoying his weekend just to train.
But today was not one of those days. Today, on this warm Saturday, a certain green hair mentioned about an event. Shouto wasn’t too sure what it was but was glad that he got invited. Even more so because moments later Bakugou had also mentioned the event.
And as Shouto was finishing up his morning tea is when his friends showed themselves. But what confused Shouto was their outfits. From the very ruffled and flowy shirt Bakugou wore. He even wore what Shouto could only assume were scarfs around his hips.
Then there was Midoriya who wore a dress. Shouto tried to recall where he seen something like it, with how familiar the design was. That’s when he recalled the video about a band called Baby Metal. But why was Midoriya wearing something like that?
“Are you ready, Todoroki-Chan?” Shouto looked at them before looking at himself.
“Was I supposed to dress up?” Midoriya just smiled while stating it wasn’t needed. But Bakugou just grabbed Shouto by his elbow and started off to the elevators.
Before long they were in his room and Bakugou going through his clothes. Eventually Bakugou had presented him with a pair of brown pants and a simple white button down. “I have scarfs you can borrow.”
After Shouto had charged they were off to the subway station. Shouto was still confused on where they were going and why they were wearing such outfits. But neither motormouth Midoriya or direct Bakugou dare explained the surprised they had planned.
And when the 3 boys got off the train, Midoriya led the boys through a large crowd. Shouto couldn’t help be impressed by seeing so many people wearing clothes similar to what they wore. Some people even had lace umbrellas and there were people in kimonos. It was a spectacle of colors and fabric.
Before long they reached a guarded gate that they had to pay entry. And as Shouto was about to ask for the price Midoriya had pulled out a few tickets. Shouto then couldn’t help wondered if the two had planned this all along.
Once all 3 got yellow bands on their wrist, they were allowed to pass through the gates. From then on Shouto was left in absolute wonder as he walked around the large building. He wasn’t sure where to look for with how much everything was.
But he was grateful he wasn’t alone. As overwhelming this place was, Bakugou and Midoriya had locked arms with him. They walked together from one booth to another. Some filled with foods and others with all sorts of things.
But one floor that caught Shouto’s interest was one that sold traditionally crafted items. Especially a few booths that sold traditionally cultivated teas. There were even booths that sold weapons forge the same way as the time period they came from.
It didn’t take long before Shouto went about things from every booth. And that includes some fabrics with patterns that were rare to find. He also got to enjoy the food court on this floor.
Shouto couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. That’s when he saw even his friends were smiling ear to ear. “Where are we?”
“It’s similar to the whole European renaissance fair. But each floor has different cultural differences. Since we knew how much you lived Japanese culture we thought you would enjoy this place.”
Shouto smile just grew as he looked at his friends. And before long they were started venturing out to each floor. Each floor was filled with so much that Shouto couldn’t stop himself from buying everything that caught his eye. He even went about buying whatever his friends had interested.
By the time they left the building, all 3 boys were exhausted. But on the walk back to the station they happened to pass by an empty playground. “I bet I can swing higher than you needs!”
As they swung on the swings Shouto couldn’t help laugh out loud. This is the most fun he had in one day and was grateful for it. And when he looked between his friends he silently wished there would be more of these days.
And when they returned back to the dorms, they showed case their new treasures to the rest of the class. Which Shouto then grabbed one of the packets of tea and handed it to Momo. “What is this for?”
“Let’s all try some.”

hiya! so i just got caught up with your series ‘i think of you’ and you are a fantastic story teller! they way that you’ve seamlessly introduced an original character into an essentially canon story line is very impressive. i’m always in awe of authors who find the spaces in a show/movie/etc. and not only build a well rounded character, but make it seem as if they were there the whole time. and the way you write din feels spot on to me (i’ve actually never seen the mandolorian, i just enjoy any and all pedro fics), but the way he wants to fight all these instincts he has about this girl because she threatens the only thing he’s had, the only thing he really knows just seems so in character. and this girl who he’s just met and has one amazing night with and that’s all they have to go off of and they are still just in each other’s heads, easing each other’s worries and need and it is actually so fun to read. and the way they have settled so easily into co-parenting grogu is so damn precious! and the dirty talk din does is actually amazingly filthy. it is so hot. i just finished the last ‘episode’ last night and the way he didn’t want to take his armor off, but wanted nothing more than to feel her on his skin was like making me scream!!! i cannot wait for season two! hope you have a great day ☺️
This has me in my feelings today! Thank you so much for reading Ansley, I saw your likes come through over the weekend (which always makes me smile, seeing how far you've gotten and remembering the plot points of each part) and then you send this!
My heart is so full from this message, I'm so glad you've enjoyed the little world I've created for Mando and Grogu and our dear RC. It's been a really fun challenge to create this story - especially since it was originally just One Very Good Night tossed into the universe and suddenly it grew! And the fact that you've been enjoying Mando's characterization makes me all blushy, I'm sending you so much love for being so kind and generous with this comment. (and oh boy, do I get all hot and bothered with Mando's sexy talk too!)
Season two is only a few short weeks away! I realized when I "paused" posting for this to do follower asks that I kind of did it at the perfect time, with them taking that first step into the unknown together, so I'm calling the 10 current stories Season 1! Season 2 will have much more where that came from, and a trip back into canon events. I cannot wait to share it with you!
Thank you for brightening my day, Ansley, and for reading and enjoying this story. I Think of You is very near and dear to my heart, and it's been amazing talking to people about it. You truly motivate me to write and keep this series going (and believe me, there's lots more coming!) and I thank you for spreading the love!

I am so glad I spent the weekend in bed because I got no sleep last night.
Tumblr media
First hubby was screaming at the top of his lungs over and over again at 9 pm because one of the cats knocked over his beer.
We have three cats this camper all over the place and he should know to prop his gigantic beer cans up against something so they don't get knocked over. This would be common sense I would think. But this is the second time this has happened and he has acted like it is the end of the world.
Then he went out to smoke a cigarette ariund 10 and the cat that knocked over the beer cans, that he screamed at for 20 minutes, suddenly decided--- and not surprisingly-- to make a run for it and ran outside.
The cat is not supposed to go outside.
Hubby chased him around the neighborhood for about four blocks before getting him back inside.
During each of these events I had just fallen asleep and was woken up. Then at God knows what time ----my TV had already turned off ---I was woken up by him screaming at his TV because something was going wrong with his video games.
Obviously he was very drunk so he was losing the damn video game and because he was losing the damn video game he was throwing the mother of all tempered headrooms, screaming and cussing at the tv. I had to get up, turn on my TV and turn it up high enough to drowned him out, yet low enough for me to actually fall back asleep
Tumblr media
Yesterday I made a roast in a slow cooker and I am very glad of that because when I get home from work today I am going back to bed.
He being bipolar and me being autistic can be a damn Frog and Toad's Wild Ride sometimes and not necessarily a good one.
And on that note a few weeks ago a kid actually asked me "Why don't you have children don't you want your bloodline to go on?"
I said "Kid, my bloodline is staying exactly where it is."
What I wanted to say was "If you had any idea how f***** up my bloodline would be you would never ask that question again."

There were no messages from Johnny wondering where she was or if she was safe. Nola sighs and takes her car out of park so she can go home, her ring flashes at her from the streetlights and she tries so hard to ignore it and to ignore the tingle on her lips from Jake’s kiss.
Monday morning came and Nola was still thinking about the events that transpired over the weekend. She loved hanging out with Jake again but then that moment on the deck keeps replaying in her mind. It thrilled her to be touched by him again but also worried her that it did thrill her. She’s filled with guilt from it and from picturing Jake while she slept with Johnny.
She had her students create something with clay, anything they wanted and as she was walking around looking at the projects, she stopped at Charlie’s table. She had made a plane.
“Is that your dad’s plane?” Nola asks bending down, so she was at eye level with Charlie.
“Yeah,” Charlie smiles.
“Miss James, I have a delivery for you,” Nola’s coworker Sadie says in the doorway.
“Delivery?” Nola stands up straight and walks towards the door. “What delivery?”
“A very handsome pilot with a bouquet of beautiful flowers,” Sadie whispers then pulls Nola into the hall.
She stumbles from the doorway and is staring at Jake who has his arms behind his back.
“I’ll watch your room,” Sadie says then closes the door behind her.
“What are you doing here?” Nola asks crossing her arms.
“I want to apologize for the way I acted on Friday. I shouldn’t have…done what I did because you’re engaged, and I guess I…I got caught up in an old memory. These are for you,” he says and pulls his arms from behind his back.
Nola stares at a beautiful flower arrangement filled with peach-colored roses and white magnolias. She can’t help but smile.
“Magnolia’s?” she takes the flowers and smells them.
“Prettiest flower I’ve ever seen. Will you forgive me?”
“Of course, I do, Jake. I got caught up in memories too, especially with the beer pong. It was a little…eerie but it felt good, too.”
“Yeah, it did. Can I make it up to you and finally take you and Lieutenant Fischer out for dinner?”
“You don’t have to call him that–”
“Until I officially meet him, I have to use his title,” Jake shakes his head and Nola can tell how serious he is.
“All right, he’s actually off duty today. I’ll give him a call at lunch.”
“Great. Meet me at Champ’s around six? Is that enough time for when you’re off work?”
“Plenty of time. Thanks for the flowers, and the apology.”
“Anytime,” he smiles. “I’d rather have you in my life like this rather than not at all.”
“Me too. And Jake, I’m sorry too.”
***
Nola was twisting the ring on her finger from nerves the whole drive over to the restaurant. Johnny didn’t seem to notice her inner turmoil at all. He took her hand as soon as she was out of the car and opened the door for her first.
Nola spotted Jake right away sitting at a table near the window, he was gazing out of it at the water and Nola couldn’t help but admire how nice he looked in the golden glow from the setting sun.
“Do you see him, babe?” Johnny asks.
“Um…” she pretends to search for him and then points. “There, by the window.”
Johnny leads them through the tables with finesse.
“Jake? I’m John Fischer,” Johnny announces himself with his hand out. Jake turns at the sound of his name, but his eyes meet Nola’s first before he rises from his seat and looks at Johnny. “It’s so good to finally meet you.”
“The pleasure’s all mine,” Jake smiles shaking his hand. “I’m glad you were both able to make it.”
“Oh yeah, sorry about the last couple of times. But you know how the Navy is, they call, and you answer,” Johnny smiles.
“Even if they call at the worst times. Hey Nola,” Jake smiles at her.
“Hi Jake,” she returns the smile and Johnny releases her hand to pull out her chair for her. Jake’s eyebrows lift and he gives her a slight nod of approval at that.
The waitress comes by promptly to take their drink order. Johnny orders for himself and Nola and Jake glances at Nola to see if she’d interject but she doesn’t.
“So, Lia tells me you’re here for Top Gun?”
“Lia?” Jake asks quizzically.
“Johnny’s nickname for me,” Nola explains sipping at her wine.
She shivers at the sharp taste of the alcohol, it’s a rosé but it makes her nose tickle and Jake knows she only likes Moscato’s.
“How’d that come about?” Jake inquires.
“It was our first couple of dates and whenever I’m with her I feel calm. Everyone calls her Nola and I wanted to call her something special,” Johnny smiles at her then kisses her lips quickly.
Nola is slightly taken aback from the kiss and sees Jake is staring with a straight face.
“Just as long as you don’t call her Maggie or Mags, right?” Jake smirks.
“Right. So, Top Gun. You’re working with Captain Mitchell, right?”
“I am.”
“Crazy bastard,” Johnny shakes his head. “His Call Sign fits him perfectly; he’s always doing what he wants.”
“Maybe so, but he’s a damn good pilot. He does things that are out of this world.”
“I’ve seen his file, it’s very big of his mishaps.”
“Mishaps that have saved plenty of lives,” Jake defends.
“Right, of course, but it’s all been against protocol. The Navy is built on structure and codes and he–”
“Can we not talk about work?” Nola pipes in because she saw Jake’s jaw ticking which is a clear sign he’s about to snap soon.
“You’re right, sorry baby,” Johnny smiles at her.
There’s an awkward silence and Nola takes a large gulp of her wine, swallowing down the bitter taste it leaves in her mouth. They order their food and Johnny takes over for Nola, but he orders her favorite. Jake’s eyes keep flickering to Johnny’s arm around Nola’s shoulders and sighed when Johnny ordered for her.
When the soup and salad came, Johnny offered her a bite of his salad.
“You have bleu cheese in it,” Nola scrunches her nose then proceeds to spoon her potato soup in her mouth.
“So?”
“I don’t like bleu cheese. It tastes like feet,” she says.
“You don’t know what you’re missing, Lia.”
“It tastes like what I imagine an athlete's foot would taste like,” Jake comments quietly plucking up a piece of bread from the basket. He grins at Nola and breaks off a piece of his bread to share with her.
Johnny didn’t order the bread but at Nola’s obvious slump of her shoulders, Jake quickly ordered some for himself. He knows how much she loves bread, especially if it has cinnamon butter with it.
Jake asks how they met when their meals arrive, and Johnny explains how he was a speaker at her school back east.
“I saw her in the crowd, and I just had to get to know her,” Johnny smiles at her. “She made me work for it though, it wasn’t until the third try of asking for coffee that she finally said yes.”
“Sounds like Nola,” Jake agrees. “Do you have a date set for the wedding at all?”
Nola stares at him in shock. He wants to talk about wedding details? Her stomach flips and she starts to play with her ring again atop the table and Johnny answers for her.
“Not yet. Once things are settled at work, I think we can start planning. I would like a summer wedding, maybe on the beach.”
“Really? You do?” Nola turns her face to look at him. This is the first time he’s ever given an opinion on their wedding.
“Yeah. Or I could even try and pull some strings to get us married on one of the ships.”
“And what, have our reception in the mess hall?”
“It was just a thought. We won’t be completely out to sea; it could be docked.”
Nola purses her lips and downs the rest of her wine and her whole body shivers. Jake immediately pours her some more water in her glass.
“Are we all set for the bill?” the waitress asks once their plates are cleared.
“I think so,” Johnny says.
“Perfect,” she smiles and sets the paper down. “Take your time–”
“No need, you can take it,” Jake says slapping down his credit card.
“I can chip in–” Johnny begins.
“No, no, this is my treat. It’s a ‘congratulations on your engagement’ dinner.”
“Thanks, man.”
“Thank you, Jake.”
The waitress skips back and angles her body so she’s blocking Nola as she slides Jake’s card back to him.
“I hope you come back again,” she says and taps on the bill before walking away.
Nola looked where her finger was and saw a number scribbled at the bottom. Jake’s eyes also looked at the number, but he quickly signed and pushed the receipt away.
“Did she write her number on the bill?” Johnny asks impressed.
“Looks like it,” Jake says grimly and pockets his card back in his wallet.
“Wow, are you going to call her?”
“She’s not my type,” Jake shakes his head.
“Not even for a one-night type?”
“Johnny!” Nola scolds.
“I’m sorry! I’ve heard of Jake’s exploits through word of mouth. Guess I was wrong,” Johnny shrugs.
“That’s why they call it word of mouth, because it usually is wrong,” Jake says tersely.
Johnny and Jake share an intense stare down and Nola looks between them waiting for someone to explode or something. When it doesn’t, she pushes away from the table.
“It’s getting late,” she says.
Their attention is set on her, and they both push away from the table, their glasses rattle the ice cubes together.
“Let’s get home,” Johnny agrees and holds out his hand for Jake. His brown eyes are hard set on Jake’s green ones. “Thank you for dinner, I’m glad we got to finally meet.”
“Likewise, Johnny,” Jake gives him a smirk.
“See you later, Jake. Thank you for dinner,” Nola says.
“You’re welcome, have a good night, Nola,” Jake tells her. When he looks at her, his eyes soften and he’s back to the Jake she knows.
When she and Johnny are in the car, he’s shaking his head as he fastens his seatbelt.
“That guy needs an ego check.”
Nola ignores him and closes her eyes. She has a headache from the wine and the tension between Johnny and Jake but what else did she expect from sharing a dinner with her fiancé and ex-boyfriend?
***
Natasha found Nola on social media and invited her out to the bar saying how the rest of the crew needed a few beers after the day they had. She extended the invite to Johnny but when he heard it was at The Hard Deck, he scoffed at how it’s just a pilot’s bar filled with desperate women wanting to get in the cockpit with one of them.
Nola arrived alone but didn’t see Jake present. Her heart fell, she was hoping he’d be there because she wanted to apologize for how Johnny spoke with him the other night. She ordered an amaretto sour and had half of it gone when Jake finally showed up with Javy.
He looked exhausted and pissed off but when he spotted her, he had the biggest smile.
“Hey, I wasn’t expecting to see you here,” he says once he’s standing in front of her by the pool table.
“Natasha invited me, I hope that was okay?”
“Of course, it is. Do you need another drink?” he nods to her half empty glass.
“Sure. It’s an–”
“Amaretto sour, I know,” he winks then heads towards the bar.
“So, Johnny and Jake finally met, huh?” Natasha sidles up next to Nola.
“How do you know?”
“Hangman flew like shit today, that’s why,” she responds. “It didn’t go well?”
“On the surface it did, but underneath it…you could cut the tension with a feather.”
“Yikes.”
“Here ya go, darlin’,” Jake appears again with Nola’s new drink.
As the night goes on, Jake drinks a bit more than usual. He sways a little when he stands waiting for his turn while playing pool. He complains it’s too hot in the bar and says he’s going to go outside; Javy and Natasha look at Nola who’s already following him.
“I’ve got Hangman babysitting duty,” she tells them with a smile.
“I’m Jake to you!” Jake points at her with a slight pout and it makes her laugh.
“Okay,” she nods, trying not to smile and keeps the door propped open so they have some light on the deck. “Do you want some water?”
“No, I’m fine,” he sighs and stares at her. “You know what I hate, Nola?”
“What?”
“How unhappy you are.”
“Excuse me?” she’s taken aback by that.
“You’re not happy with Johnny.”
“How do you know? You just met him yesterday.”
“Exactly. I’ve been here a little over a month and from the first time meeting him I can tell. I hate the way he talks to you. He brushes you aside constantly and is always letting you down by leaving–”
“It’s his job!”
“No way he’s busy that late at night every night.”
“He’s doing paperwork because he’s being promoted to Lieutenant Commander this upcoming week!”
“Great, another congratulations is in order,” Jake rolls his eyes. “And what the hell is this ‘Lia’ shit? You’ve never been called that your entire life. He breaks his promises every time.”
“Yeah, well, I’m used to that aren’t I and it’s all thanks to you,” she snaps.
There’s silence and it’s deafening.
“I deserve that,” Jake agrees. “But even when we broke up, it was you who I was putting first. To him it’s his job and then you. And this ring?” he lifts her left hand up, so her ring sparkles in the bar light. “This isn’t you either! Does he even know you at all?”
“Of course, he does!” she rips her hand from his.
“Then how come he didn’t know you hate bleu cheese or how much you love bread and butter for dinner?”
“Oh, because he forgot a food preference that means he doesn’t love me?”
“He should know everything about you, Nola. I’ll never ever tell you what to do but think long and hard about marrying him. I would be better–I don’t want to see you hurt.”
“You don’t want to see me hurt? That’s rich coming from you,” she snorts and starts to pace, her hands are on her hips. “Johnny has never left me behind.”
“Then Lia, answer me this,” Jake stands in front of her, so she stops pacing. They’re toe to toe. “Why didn’t you smile once while we were at dinner? You don’t smile when you talk about him, the only time I’ve seen that beautiful smile of yours is while you were with me.”
She stares at him, her mouth agape as she tries to find a way of defense but there is none. She never did smile that night except when she was saying hello to Jake.
“I can’t do this right now, you’re drunk and you’re talking like an idiot,” she shakes her head and turns around to head back inside.
Jake grabs her by the waist pulling her into him, his green eyes are steady on hers and Nola’s hands smack onto his chest.
“You know I’m right,” his breathy southern drawl sends shivers down her spine and are only stopped when he squeezes her waist.  “I know you, Nola. I know I screwed up so many times with you but being with you again…” he sighs deeply and presses his forehead against hers.
“Jake–”
“If I kissed you right now, would you kiss me back?”
“What? Jake, I can’t--”
“If I kiss you and you tell Johnny I did–” he skims his nose across her cheek, his lips teasing near the corner of her mouth– “I will take the punch for kissing an engaged woman and you’ll never hear from me again. If you don’t tell him…come find me.”
“Jake…” she exhales his name, her fingers pinching his shirt together. She can feel his heartbeat and her eyes are shut waiting for the bomb to go off from his lips on hers.
“You tell me to stop right now, and I will, Nola,” he brings his other hand up to her cheek.
“I don’t know…my head is…I’m not thinking.”
“If you tell Johnny… I kissed you.”
She opens her mouth to tell him okay but then his lips are on hers. He’s hesitant and slow but it takes a fraction of a second for them to find the rhythm they’ve had for so many years. Jake brings her even closer, and Nola slides her hands up his jaw and into his hair. Kissing him again is like waking up from a nap in the warm sun or crawling into bed after washing the sheets and taking a shower.
Familiar and comforting but also exhilarating.
She’s transported to their first kiss at eighteen and every kiss after that. He’s so familiar and yet–
“My Nola,” he mumbles and slips his tongue over hers.
Her stomach erupted in butterflies; her cheek was hot from his hand holding it. Nola can’t even suppress the small moan that slips out of her. Her fingers tighten in desperation on his hair for more of him. They’re both panting. Her middle finger bumps over her engagement ring and her stomach drops.
She gasps and pushes him away and he doesn’t fight her on it.
“I should…I should go…” she tries to gather her breath.
“Okay,” he nods and kisses her forehead. His lips linger on her skin so affectionately she wants to cry. “Remember, I kissed you. I’ll make sure to take all the blame.”
Nola touches her lips; they’re still tingling from his kiss and her heart is pounding. Jake’s face is somber as he stares at her, he shoves his hands in his pockets. Nola is caught between her head and her heart because staring at him right now all she wants to do is kiss him again.
Her head is sending off warning signals and bright red flashing lights because she needs to go back home to Johnny. She knows she has to go but she so desperately wants to stay.
“It’s okay, Nola,” Jake nods, “Go.”
And because he told her, she left and disappeared into the night.
Jake waited for her to return but when she didn’t, he still stayed. The door of the bar opens and Coyote struts out with a beer for Jake.
“Where’s Nola?”
“She went home.”
“Did you two get into a fight?” Coyote sighs.
“Sort of, but then we kissed,” Jake takes a swig of his beer still staring at the spot where she left.
“You what?” Coyote choked on his drink.
“And I sort of gave her an ultimatum.”
“You’re in deep shit. Her fiancé is going to kick your ass, man.”
“It’ll be worth it,” his eyes linger on the spot where Nola disappeared for a moment longer. “Come on, let’s head back inside.”
***
Nola was crying so hard on her way home that she had to pull over in a Wendy’s parking lot so she wouldn’t drive off the road. She cheated on Johnny, but Jake told her he’d take all the blame by saying he kissed her, and she didn’t kiss him back even though she did. She wanted to keep kissing him and that made her cry harder.
When she finally caught her breath and the tears stopped coming, she found some napkins in her glove compartment. She stares at her reflection in the rearview mirror, her eyes are puffy and red, and she glances at the clock. Johnny should be home by now since it’s almost one in the morning, but she hopes he’s sleeping so he won’t see her crying. She checks her phone and has three messages from Jake.
‘Let me know you got home safe.’
‘I won’t let you take the fall for this; this was all me.’
‘Call me if you need a ride.’

The school assignments has really absorbed years of my life... But I am glad to say that I am free from that burden (temporarily), and I can get back to my games (temporarily).
There’s a lot for me to catch up on. I have drawings, crocheting, downloading new game patches, editing and uploading videos... Wow, I really do have a lot.

1️⃣ Genshin Impact’s new patch generates a whole new meme
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Genshin Impact thru’ Google Image Search)
Genshin Impact’s new patch, V3.6, was released on 12 April 2023. I am a little over a week behind on the updates. I am quite stoked for this new patch because I will get to see Scaramouche... sorry, Wanderer in the new event of the game. I am very very VERY curious to know why Cyno and Wanderer were fighting in the trailer.
I am probably gonna spend my weekend catching up on the game, from building my characters, pulling the new characters, to catching up with Nahida’s story quest just to unlock the new map area.
But what is really funny about this new patch came with a fan-made video of Kaveh, the roommate of Alhaitham. Go to YouTube, search for “Genshin Impact The Diagnosis”, and click on the video seen in the screenshot below.

2️⃣ Sky Children of the Light - An inactive experience for me
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: That Sky Game thru’ Google Image Search)
I am actually on break from the game due to lack of people to play with. But the new season, Season of Passage, seems very enticing for me to come back. I have already missed a few days of the season but most likely will start my journey after reset today.
The one thing that enticed me was one of the cosmetics from one of the spirits. It is very similar to the Season of Enchantment’s Ultimate Gift which is immensely popular with the Ikeman troupe. Given that I usually don on an Ikeman style, I think I should have that Passage cosmetic.
Another reason for me to return to the game is the Days of Nature which features new ocean cape.

Just look at that cape! It is unique and has beautiful colour hues resembling the ocean. Moreover, a new light creature, the dolphin is also being presented in the Days of Nature.
3️⃣ Skeptical of Honkai Star Rail
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Epic Games thru’ Google Image Search)
Honkai Star Rail is set to release on this coming Wednesday, 26 April 2023. I am both excited and skeptic of the game.
I have seen the gameplay from a stream (beta version) and I am excited to download and try the game. The battle mechanics is also different from the usual seen in both Honkai and Genshin. Of course, given that it is made by Hoyoverse/Mihoyo, there is a high chance that battling is not gonna be as easy as it sounds.
On the other hand, given my experience with Honkai Impact, I am worried that I may not enjoy Honkai Star Rail. I did try playing Honkai Impact in the past but despite the raving reviews of how good and enjoyable it is, I could not join in the same sentiments. Given how Honkai Star Rail is a spin-off game from the Honkai Impact game, I just hope that it would provide a better experience.
4️⃣ Grind, grind, grinding in Animal Crossing
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: GamesRadar thru’ Google Image Search)
A couple of weeks ago, I posted a post on my progress in Animal Crossing. And the game progress is still pretty much the same. Grinding to get K.K. Slider to come to the island.
I managed to source for the ninth villager, who is a wolf, and my island rating went up to 2 stars. Right now, I have to decorate the hell out of my island just to increase the island rating to 3 stars.
I think I will have to temporarily just go with the flow and in order to get the island rating up so that K.K. Slider will come to the island and I can finally get my hands on that terra-forming kit!
I am okay.

🍂Fall Journal Entry🍂
Just a little bit about what I've been up to this fall (if you can call it that...)
Well... it's November now. My favourite month of the year is officially over, and my favourite season is coming to a close.
Fall is my favourite season for a few reasons... The main one being Halloween, of course (which I had an amazing Halloween), but the other reasons are the beautiful fall colours and the foggy weather... both of which are a photographer's best friend.
Fall is by far the most fun season to photograph, and I missed out on all the pretty colours last year because school was super overwhelming, so I was determined to get lots of fall pictures this year... only we didn't have a fall.
The weather went straight from being hot, summer heat, to winter. Absolutely no in between stages. Until a couple weeks ago it was still shorts weather, and now they are calling for snow this week? I doubt it will actually happen, but still... where was fall?
Because of this weird weather there has been next to no fog, and almost no fall colours. This has been a huge bummer for me, and I've spent quite a bit of time searching to see if I could find any trees with nice colours. (I actually spotted a couple today on campus, so I might bring my camera to class tomorrow)
Last weekend on the 22nd, I went out to capture the "fall colours" and was pretty disappointed. I got a couple cool pictures, but nothing too spectacular. It was a bit strange. All the trees were already completely empty, all the leaves having fallen, or were still completely green. No reds, no yellows, not even browns... just green or nothing. And everything that was green wasn't even a nice green, but rather a dusty grey-green. There were the odd yellow or red tree here and there, but the overwhelming majority was already finished with the fall cycle, or hadn't even started.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm planning on sharing more photos from my excursion soon, but you can see here what I mean about everything being mostly green, or even a dusty grey.
It was definitely a bit disappointing to have my favourite season just... not happen, but I didn't let that stop me from having a great spooky season.
In October I got to do all kinds of fun things like hang out with the cosplay club and have a lightsaber duel, go to a pumpkin patch with the cosplay club, see Rocky Horror in theatres with my friends, go to a costume party at the university pub, have a spooky dnd session where we cosplayed our characters, and hang out with my friends on Halloween to ghost hunt and play an intense game of Mario Party. It has been an absolutely jam-packed month, and I've enjoyed every second of it.
In case any of you were curious what my Halloween costume was this year, I did Eddie! I technically wore 3 costumes this year for the different events I went to (Eddie, my OC, and Beetlejuice).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's some stuff from our Halloween weekend dnd session! I really love how my cosplay turned out!

Also this month I ran my first ever session of dnd as a DM! That was crazy! It is something I've always wanted to do, but never thought I would ever have the time or knowledge to pull off. I had an opportunity to fill in for our usual DM and decided to run a one shot that I created. Sure it was a bit rough, and I needed a bit of help when it came to the combat side of things, but I had a ridiculously fun time and the players all loved it! It was a super meta one shot, where I took all of our pre-existing characters from our usual campaign and threw them into our world. I got to play myself as an NPC which was very fun, and got to play all of our group members as the enemies, so they had to fight themselves. It was such a cool experience and I'm so glad they all enjoyed it. It's pretty cool that I can now cross that off my bucket list! Here are the minis I made of everyone for the combat!

Anyways, I haven't been posting much this month because A) I've been super busy, as you can tell from this needlessly long journal entry and B) because I am SO FAR BEHIND ON DRACULA DAILY. I can't use Tumblr without seeing all of the Dracula content, and I really don't want spoilers (Yes... I know the book is more than 100 years old. I still don't want spoilers). I think the last entry I read was the October 2nd one, so I'm a month behind at this point. It's been killing me! I need to know if Mina is ok!!! But alas, I simply have not had time to read. I'm hoping to catch up soon now that life is calming down, but who knows.
So... that is a little bit about what I've been up to. Not that anyone cares. I just like writing these little journal posts so I can look back on all the fun stuff I got up to... and oh boy was there lots of fun this month.

My School's 100th Anniversary
On Sunday October 10th, my school turned 100. From the minute I had stepped inside on my first day, the 5th, I had been bombarded with flyers and brochures and pamphlets and all that kind of stuff, all announcing the events of the day. I didn’t understand a single word, but the list seemed pretty long. Great! A cool day of celebration right as I arrive! Great opportunity to get to know the staff and students.
I was kind of bummed to already have to come into work on my first weekend in town, but I figured it was going to be fun. My supervisor warned me to wear my nice black suit, as there would be a short official ceremony. “Cool”, I thought, “I get to show them I clean up well and that I take tradition seriously”. I’m also told it’ll be a full day, so on Sunday I show up, full suited up, at 8am. Turns out, students have simple homeroom until noon. Seems kind of boring, but sure. I’ll stay at my desk and keep it warm until the festivities begin. Finally, 1pm, time to go the gym for the official ceremony, which will surely kick off the festivities.  The gym is full of chairs carefully aligned and organized to separate the students into grades, with teachers off to the side. We sit down, and nobody seems excited. Weird. We are handed the ceremony’s program, and even though I still don’t understand a single word, I understand this : 1pm – 4pm.
Ah yes, a short ceremony by Japanese standards. I start sweating. I’m not nervous, but the gym is already an oven, with no windows and about 200 people in full suits. I lean over to my closest colleague, who’s not an English speaker, and try to ask her what’s on the program by repeatedly pointing and going "Nani desu ka?". I don’t get much of her answer, except for speech…speech… speech. Ok, so speeches. Nothing else, apparently.
The first event on the program was a ceremony over Zoom (yes, I too thought I was finished with Zoom) that was held at our town’s cultural center, a mere kilometer away. After the usual 10 minutes of technical issues and the Japanese equivalent of “I think you’re muted”, we were treated to around 1h30 of speeches, all very monotone and serious, with deep bows and polite clapping between each one. Every time, there was an awkward half-clap going on in the gym… Do you clap for someone who can’t see nor hear you? After a short break, the “real fun” began, according to my supervisor. See, in 1988, a young Japanese man named Suzuki Daichi won a gold medal for swimming at the Seoul Olympics.
Ah, that’s cool, an alumni went to the Olympics and won!
No! Actually, Mr Suzuki didn’t attend my school, but a neighboring one who, unlike us, didn’t have a pool. So their swim team used ours. Anyway, because of this, my school has always been very proud of being the kinda-home of an Olympian. And today, Mr Suzuki was coming to deliver the a speech, which would last 1h30 (impressive, might I say). They showed a short documentary about his Olympic performance, and I, along with probably every girl in the gym, perked up at the footage of wet beefy 80s athletes in speedos. I’m glad to report Mr Suzuki is as handsome as he was in his youth.
Again, I didn’t understand much from his lengthy speech, only that it had to do with sports and how they can make life better and how Japanese youth need to be more active. The students didn’t seem all that excited for the last 45 minutes, which was mostly graphs and motivational quotes. I did notice members of the baseball team screamed at some point, so maybe something was said about their sport?
Anyway, that concluded my school’s 100th anniversary celebration. We got a gigantic, beautiful bouquet of flowers that’s displayed in the hall, but otherwise, nothing much came of it. I’m at least glad that everyone else had a terrible time, even while understanding what was being said. I don’t know which situation is worst. At least I got to zone out.
