Comes across as extremely scattered, stereotypically childish and hyperactive to begin with, like all speedsters is extremely intelligent and lives on a frequency much faster than other people so paying attention or waiting or doing one thing at a time is extremely difficult. His first solo comic opened with the introduction "Bart Allen, poster child for the judgement impaired" and went on to back that up repeatedly. It includes such jems as him not being able to pay attention long enough in class so he tunes out, a teacher asking what she was talking about and him taking it literally and listing the topics she covered. She calls him a smarty-pants (it's very 90's) and when he starts to say he "That wasn't what you wanted? I wasn’t trying to-" she responds that he's very trying. This is his first day in public school. Idk personally that hit hard. Later it talks about how his cousin named his behaviour pattern the "single synapse theory" because Bart goes from one action to the next, no pause between to consider if there will be consequences. And like. DC. That is literally how ADHD works my dudes plz just admit it at this point its been decades. Hes not allowed in Gotham anymore bc he genuinely upsets the rouges there with how much he talks and just manages to annoy them into giving up (not on purpose either, they're just mean to my boy) he's actually done that to the Joker twice.

In his callback intro in the og Young Justice comics he full on forgets he can vibrate through solid material and is stuck in tar for ages till he's talking about it, so we get "ow it hurts" "okay, you're heating the tar. It'll burn. Stop." "ow" "stop" "ow" "stop" "ow" "stop! So who named you impulse?" he's so smart but so dumb and btw his response is that Batman gave him the name and he doesn't know why, then after a second asks if he was being funny. Never stopped to consider if there was a reason behind the name. There are so many more but at that point I might as well hand over the Impulse and Young Justice comic runs and any time a flash writer remembered he exists, his name is literally IMPULSE because the goddamn Batman took one look and could already tell. Plz love my dude he's so worth it I promise

Grian and pearl are the only 2 that remember things from other worlds. Grian didn't realise others forgot other worlds until talking to them, and recieving blank stares. Jubilant when pearl mentioned other smp's offhand.

Oh also tango remembers Jimmy due to strong emotions

ooh... is this because of Evo? if so, then Jimmy might know more than he lets on. he did remember Grian and Tango very clearly during the crossover. i wonder if any of them have realized why they're the only ones who remember.

i also wonder how incredibly confused Grian gets seeing Tango remember his rancher. he's never remembered before! has he been hiding it?

it genuinely baffles me that people still think vox is some precious baby that needs to be protected and kept from val at all costs. are we like... are we watching the same show?

One of my favourite things about how Hoshino writes Allen is the ways different characters will admit to, admire or in the Earl's case be unsettled by his strenght.

Allen doesn't have as much destructive force as Cross, Sokalo or Klaud but everyone acknoledges his crackhead determination and resolution, but the characters are so dead certain in him as if he was an unstoppable force of nature.

From the time the Earl and Allen meet on screen for the first time

How Kanda is stunned by his Anti-Akuma weapon's evolution

How Bookman trusts that Allen is still alive even as they got some very vague information on Allen's condition

Komui doesn't even try talking Allen out of boarding the Ark because of course Allen would and Komui knows there's no stopping Allen once he decided to do something

How the Earl pursued eliminating Lenalee even with Cross and Tiedoll lurking nearby, but Allen shows up and he grabs his kids in a blink of an eye and disappears as if the IRS was after him

When fighting Jasdevi Lavi turns to Allen to discuss the plan, as if he was the leader of the group

Lenalee outright calls his willpower superhuman and how Krory backhand deems him strong enough to carry while Krory back him up

How Tyki and Lenalee are shocked by him fixing his weapon on his own

Or be very unsettled when Allen surpasses the Critical Point

How both Komui and Reever almost instantly figure it out that Allen was the one who broke the Critical Point

Road guessing that she probably couldn't kill Allen with direct physical attacks

How Cross knows and trusts Allen's spirit and abilities

How Kanda likewise covertly acknowledges Allen to be strong by demanding he pays attention so together they can destroy the Level 4

Apocryphos commends his fighting spirit, that Allen could withstand what Crows and even Kanda got folded by, on three tries, AND retained his memories

Kanda once again trusts Allen to deal with the fusion Akuma going after him.

Everyone who even remotely knows Allen consider him a force to be reckoned with and I really enjoy how it's shown within the story.

not gonna lie it feels extremely biphobic to make every small physical interaction between buck and eddie into something sexual atp. buck has always clearly been okay with physical intimacy with his friends, eddie especially, and it's really discouraging to see post-coming out affection solely reduced to buddie. just because he understands he's into men now doesn't mean every time he touches eddie he wants to fuck him
