So there are no women in the final and I thought it was a shame. I love so many of them. Good luck to pick only one.

Conversation
me expressing my love for Violante: oh my beautiful daughter, I do so love you. you deserve only the best in the world. I would crush all who made you suffer under my heel just to see a genuine smile finally bloom upon your lips. you are a work of art in yourself and my heart aches and longs for the splendid sadness in your soul even as it grieves for you on the long, slow, painful way to healing it.
me expressing my love for Basta: oh you horrid little garbage man. you are so very small and pathetic. your biological parents never loved you and the father figure you so desperately clung to only ever despised you. you are a fragile, unhinged dog of a man and watching you suffer through torments and humiliations inspires such wild glee and an odd warm glow in me. I drink down your distress like the finest wine. I would attempt to hug you and pet your hair at my own risk if I could and every time someone calls you a bad character or underestimates your depth and potential I am just like (ง'̀-'́)ง.

Quick sketch of my current d&d character, Violante Ippolita di Astromonte. She is the eldest daughter of a noble puma family and has been pressured to learn the arts of combat and war to become a great leader and mother of the next generation of house Astromonte. But her interests lie elsewhere: science! Enthomology! She envies her younger brother who can pursue his passion in astrology, so escapes her responsibilities to show the world that she is valid in her own way. She's exploring the world, discovering new species of critters and is writing and illustrating a book on invertebrates: Integram Libri Insectae de Mundo, which she hopes to publish thanks to the newborn printing machines.
We're playing in a particular setting: Historia, which is based on the Italian reinassance and has anthropomorphic animals instead of elves, humans etc. and where social conflict is mostly based on wealth rather than species. The new classes presented aren't necessarily great, but being a low-magic setting it's fine. I don't know if the manual is available in English too, we play in Italian!

Inkworld doodles because It's been a hot second since I've drawn this stuff!
If you can't tell I've been on a Piper x Violante hypetrain, because the enemies to lovers energy is immaculate.
Basta, as always, is a must and I wanted to try a younger version of him. Maybe expect more young Basta content, who knows?
Capricorn was very difficult to flash out and I'm still not satisfied.
And of course, because it can't be all villains, there's also best dad, Mo.

Violante, the Second Sister
“A king had a daughter who was beautiful beyond all measure, but so proud and haughty withal that no suitor was good enough for her. She sent away one after the other, and ridiculed them as well.
“Once the King made a great feast and invited thereto, from far and near, all the young men likely to marry. They were all marshalled in a row according to their rank and standing; first came the kings, then the grand-dukes, then the princes, the earls, the barons, and the gentry. Then the King's daughter was led through the ranks, but to every one she had some objection to make.”
Blessed with the gift of music and an inflated ego, Vio has been trying all her life to prove that her father was wrong to abandon them. In this new castle, old castle, home castle, she’s forced to either confront the fact that she will never be good enough for her father or disappear into the fairy world forever. And all this while being paraded around for suitors that could never meet her standards in the first place.
(violets and primroses, amethysts and song)

Inkworld Appreciation Week Day 3: Rarepair ( @inkworld-appreciation-week )
A short fic dedicated to Brianna x Violante because neither get enough love. Set post-Inkdeath.
Jacopo had finally gone to sleep, leaving the rest of the long night to Brianna. She sighed, debating her options. It was her third night back in the Laughing Prince’s Castle, or rather, Violante’s Castle. The first two nights had been plagued with nightmares, each worse than the last, and stronger than they were on the return journey from the castle in the lake. She could go to her own quarters, and try to sleep. It was rather too late to make it to her mother’s safely and she doubted there was much any of her family could do in the face of terrible dreams. Instead, she returned to her mistress’s rooms.
Violante was still awake, unsurprisingly. She was laying in her bed, propped up against pillows, the curtains pulled back as best to allow the light from the lanterns she had lit. Her glasses were perched on the end of her nose, and even though she was trying to hide it, Brianna knew Violante was deeply uninterested in whatever book she was attempting to read. Brianna knew her lady well, though she was loath to admit it. Violante was attempting to bore herself to sleep.
Brianna slipped into the chamber, rustling her skirts so as not to sneak up on Violante. Her lady looked up at her as she paused at the corner post on her bed.
“Jacopo is finally asleep,” Brianna began, “I am going to sleep now too, if that is alright with you?”
Violante looked so small, and so very tired at that moment. The bags under her eyes gave her a rather hollow look. Brianna knew it well enough, from her own reflection. Her lady closed the book, letting it lay across her lap.
“Brianna,” she paused, as if what she was going to say was causing her great difficulty. “Would you stay with me-“ her voice cracked on the last syllable, and Brianna thought for a silent, unthinkable moment, that Violante might cry. She looked so very tired. “-with me, here, tonight?”
Brianna did not hesitate, how could she? “Of course, my lady.”
She removed her outer layers carefully, and laid them over a tufted bench in the corner, each movement measured, meant to appear easy, so as not to betray the tremor in her hands.
She slipped beneath the heavy duvet, and turned slightly, finding Violante’s gaze resting heavy upon her. She seemed thoughtful, pensive.
“Do you dream of the castle in the lake?” her voice was barely above a whisper.
“Yes,” Brianna replied.
“Ah. I thought you would dream of Cosimo.”
Brianna gripped the duvet tightly, “As a corpse perhaps.”
“That was cruel of me,” Violante paused, “I am sorry,” and rested her own hand atop Brianna’s.
It was a genuine apology, Brianna knew, and a rather new occurrence. It was a greater awareness on Violante’s part, one of the only good things to come out of that horrid castle.
“When I sleep, I often think that I will awake and still be in that terrible cage, with the nightmare below me with my father’s corpse,” she breathes. She does not look at Violante’s face.
“I often find myself in the dungeon of the castle, locked in the dark. Sometimes I am forgotten there but I do not waste away. I cannot die, even when my tears flood the chamber, I cannot die.”
A truth for a truth. Brianna flips her hand under Violante’s palm, gripping her lady’s hand tightly, as reassuring as she can, in the face of both of their fears.
“I’ll leave a lamp burning,” she whispers to Violante. Almost like a lover’s promise, she thinks for a brief moment, and smiles, against the looming dark.

I hesitated before not including Resa/Dustfinger but we don't have explicit confirmation of an affair and I only put canon ships here.
Other polls (Inkheart, art, literature) in my pinned post.
