Anyway here's the Minecraft easter-egg in the Viscera Cleanup Detail level Overgrowth.

There is a bit more to it than this, namely the sequence required to open it, but I don't think anyone would want to watch me stumble around trying to find the hard-to-find switch that gives you the shovel, then spending about 8 minutes breaking the massive "rock" obstructing the cave entrance (I put "rock" in quotes because it's actually a reskinned patch of sand).

The Janitor (player character) from Viscera Cleanup Detail technically has no direct Ryu Number. Though there could be links through the Shadow Warrior or Santa's Rampage games, we don't directly see Lo Wang nor Santa in either game. Unless there's an identifiable corpse in either instance that solidifies the link, The Janitor has no Ryu Number.

So this is all basically correct, unless you're really willing to stretch the definition of "corpse", in which case...

Yeah. This is probably as minimal of a character's representation as you can get before things get considerably more dicey, so make of this what you will.

(As an administrative sidenote, if you send me a character saying that they have no Ryu Number, and if my research leads me to agree without anything of note to add, it's getting trashed. It's kind of the default position for any given character without any priors!)

Anyway here's a post of me comparing Viscera Cleanup Detail and Lethal Company because I have nothing better to do.

Also I haven't played the latter, anyway both games:

Feature the employees of a vast, nebulous corporation as player-characters, travelling to various sci-fi settings and are rated on their performance.

Are better with multiple players.

Contrast horrific content with a sense of humour.

Feature various items that the player can collect to decorate their base.

Include references to the developers' past projects.

You can find messages from a character who also works for the corporation.

Players can become possessed by an artifact they find while exploring.

You can get thrown out of an airlock.

Yes I know that there's a lot of differences (even with the examples used) and some of the lore probably doesn't match up, but I don't care.

Back at the Office I got another threatening note from a colleague and checked my score at the Waste Disposal and it was only 96%, I wanted 100% so I went back in.

Waste Disposal part 2

I found out the vending machine had other options to chose from besides the lantern so I took two out and fixed the medical kits in the area. Then found some bullet holes I missed so I fixed them and headed back the Office. But my score just went up to 97%, damn. I'll try again later.
