I will update this list as I learn of any more useful ones. If you want general language learning resources check out this other post. This list is German specific. Find lists for other specific languages here.
For the purposes of this list "free" means something that is either totally free or has a useful free tier. "Cheap" is a subscription under $10USD a month, a software license or lifetime membership purchase under $100USD, or a book under $30USD. If you want to suggest something to add to this list, include things in this price range that are of good quality and not AI generated.
WEBSITES
DW - A public broadcasting service from Germany that also has a German learning section. They have videos, tv series, and lessons from beginner to advanced. The website is free to use with an account.

READING PRACTICE
German graded readers by Olly Richards Short Stories in German, Intermediate Short Stories in German, Conversations in Simple German, Western Philosophy in Simple German, World War 2 in Simple German. Books tend to range from $4-$20 depending if you buy the digital or print versions. The books can also generally be found easily at used book stores or used on Amazon for cheaper.
Dino Lernt Deutsch - A series of short stories for beginners about a man named Dino lost in various German speaking countries. The full series new in print costs about $25 but it can be bought used or as a digital edition. Each individual story can also be bought separately

German Stories - A podcast for beginners in a mix of English and German that gives lessons through dialogues and short stories.
Speaking of Berlin - A podcast by Babbel of Berliners telling personal stories in slow German.
SELF STUDY TEXTBOOKS AND DICTIONARIES
Complete German All-in-One from McGraw Hill - a textbook that also doubles as a workbook. It’s more expensive at about $30. It’s difficult to find intact used copies of this book because it’s also a workbook and people tend to write all over it and tear it up. However the sentence builder and grammar sections are sold separately for much cheaper if you just want one or the other.
German Made Easy - Individual books in this series tend to be about $10-$20. From what I’ve read it’s just fine but it’s cheap and has all the beginner concepts you need and used copies are fairly easy to find online.
Easy German Step By Step - This is McGraw Hill’s budget option at $12-$16 new. Though as this one isn’t a workbook, it’s easier to find used copies. It focuses hard on only the most frequently used vocabulary and grammar concepts to get someone started as quickly as possible. It’s also available in audiobook form.
German Grammar Complete - This book is a full comprehensive guide to all levels of grammar from absolute beginner to college level. However it’s on the more expensive side at $30 and the workbook is sold separately.
DK German to English illustrated dictionary - This dictionary is sorted by topic and includes pictures and English translations. This is a new edition and is slightly harder to find used as I’m writing this. The base price is about $20 but there are older editions of this dictionary that might be easier to find used.
Merriam-Webster’s German to English Dictionary - The OG. The legend. The menace. The classic bilingual dictionary. Simple. Many words. Decent explainations. Only $8 new. Easy to find used older editions.
SERIES FOR LEARNERS AND KIDS TV
Hallo Aus Berlin - A series infamous among German students everywhere. Made in the early 2000s for use in classrooms, it has ten episodes of kids talking about certain topics like numbers and going out to a restaurant. It also has a number of songs. It’s cringey but in a fun way in my opinion.
Löwenzahn - a kids tv series aimed at very young audiences that’s been on for several decades. Every episode discusses one topic like bridges or factories so you’ll hear certain words repeated a lot. Theres only been a couple of different hosts so the presentation style remains consistent and unlike some other shows for kindergarteners it’s not obnoxiously loud and can be enjoyable for adults.
Sesamstraße - Sesame Street in German and localized for the German market with different themes and characters. In their YouTube channel you can find clips from as far back as the 1970s.

I finally told my procrastination "no" and started doing small steps towards making my own comics about life of a foreigner in Korea.
Or more like, during the last Foreigner Integration Program were were all asked what skill or hobby we'd like to learn while living in Korea, and while a lot of guys said 'fixing devices, cooking or making coffee', I told professor I wanted to learn how to properly make webtoons (since there's a big market/culture/skilled people in Korea). And I saw her face going blank like 'umm okay' lol. Well, I already know how to fix devices and cook?? why can't I get some creative skills that can also help in life.
And she literally praised me for my drawings (better than one in the screenshot lol) in the beginning of the class, and before me another student talked about wanting to learn how to write a novel. So how is my desire to learn storytelling, combine with art and figure out proper software to edit webtoons was not met with enthusiasm? I swear many people have no idea how much effort goes into webtoons.
Anyway, I was petty enough to make another attempt - but since it'll be a long time until I will have skills to use CPS freely and start my own story, and making animated vlogs for youtube take way more effort than I expected, I'll just try to share small fun moments or observation out of my life as a foreigner in Korea. I hope people will be interested in them so I can have fun making lots of them.
https://www.instagram.com/aleks_alcor/
(It's in 3 languages: Korean, English and Russian so don't worry, you can just swipe the slide and read them!)
If it's something you're interested in, you're welcome to check it out (also I'm posting mini-vlogs, Kpop fan life, guides about studying/working/living in Korea and more is coming^^)

Puppy Love
(Dream x GeorgeNotFound x Sapnap)
Sitting Pretty - Chapter Ten
Word count: 1522
Warning: Kissing. Mouth tickles. And a little bittt bit of angst.
Dream knew he was being dramatic, okay? He knew. He was aware. It just. That doesn’t make him feel any less.
It was almost the end of the night and neither George or Sapnap had kissed him.
This morning he watched them trade good morning kisses, but George got distracted when the toaster spooked him by going off. Sapnap just had to tease him about it, setting off a play fight. Lots of hissing and giggles. They were too cute. Dream barely even registered that his lips went un-kissed. Whatever, he didn’t want their stinky morning breath kisses anyway.
The day fell a bit on the busy side. It usually did when George got into the mood to stream. Lately, he would drag everyone into it. And Dream could never say no to George. He brought him to the store and helped him vlog while grabbing ingredients for his impromptu cooking stream. Obviously, no kisses there. No big deal.
But when they walked in the house and George was off camera while Dream filmed their feet, he grabbed Sapnap and smooched his lips playfully. It was to fluster him. It was quick, and really just to mess with Sapnap. Dream still whined as he filmed George scamper off to the kitchen. Sapnap stood there with bright cheeks.
“He-he slapped me! Dream!”, Sapnap squeaked out, properly flustered. He had to think of an excuse on the spot and it was horrible. No wonder the entire fandom theorized about whether they were dating or not.
They set up in the kitchen and took turns bothering George while he cooked for the stream. He was making homemade mac and cheese. Before the end, there was cheese everywhere. It took more than an hour to clean.
Dream watched Sapnap dust cheese off George’s cheek and then smooch the spot loudly, grabbing him tightly so he couldn’t squirm away. The older screeched and giggled, struggling in the hold. Dream turned and left them.
In his office, he opened the editing software on his computer and stared at it blankly. He wanted a kiss.
Which is stupid. He could have taken one. Or asked for one. They are his boyfriends! But, the timing was just off all day. Any chance he had, he missed. Now, he was alone and pouting. Feeling dumb.
~•~
Sapnap and George turned to grab for their boyfriend, but he was gone. He wouldn’t have turned in for the night without saying good night, so they figured he went to the bathroom. They settled together in the living room and started to relax for the night.
It was only a few minutes before George got up to use the bathroom. He figured Dream must be showering and he would just demand entry anyway. But, the bathroom door on the first floor was open. Weird. He headed upstairs to find the other bathroom empty as well. He handled his bathroom business quickly, then started to look for his absent boyfriend.
“Dream!”; he called out as he whipped his bedroom door open. If he had gone to bed without saying goodnight, George was fine interrupting his sleep. But, his bedroom was empty as well.
“George?”, he heard Dream’s muffled voice coming from his office.
He paced quickly down the hallway and flung open the door to find his puppy. His tail was still, hanging limply down off his office chair. There was no smile on his face and no burst of excitement at the sight of him. George’s ears flattened at the lack of reaction.
“What’s going on?”, he asked slowly. Dream pouted. George felt himself freeze, but shook out of it quickly. “Dream?”.
“Neither of you kissed me today.”.
George tilted his head and thought over the words. He was right, of course. His puppy. Un-kissed. The entire day.
“Sapnap!!!”, he suddenly screamed, making Dream jump up at the sudden noise. He scrambled out of the chair.
“It’s okay! I don’t know why I’m overreacting like this!”, he quickly backtracked. George only crowded his space and pushed him softly towards the bed. “George, I’m fine!”.
“Puppy, we didn’t mean to not give you kisses. Lay down.”, George coo’ed. Dream stumbled back clumsily, landing on the bed and bouncing. He tried to sit up, but George pressed him back down.
“What’s going on?”, Sapnap asked from the doorway.
“We forgot to give our puppy kisses today.”. The stunned silence let them know Sapnap was realizing his mistake too.
“Oh, Dreamie.”.
~•~
Gently, Dream was pinned down and his boyfriends loomed over him. Always so overwhelming to have all of their attention.
“I’m going to give you a million kisses.”, George grinned, a little spark of mischief in his eyes.
“I’m going to give you a million and one kisses.”, Sapnap shot back quickly.
Sapnap moved first, pressing his wrist up above his head and then fluttering his lips gently down his forearm. Dream winced at the softness. It tickled horribly, but he couldn’t shove Sapnap away when he was finally getting the affection he craved.
George moved in fast and peppered his face with little kisses. He couldn’t stop the giggles from bursting out. He tried to squirm, but the two held him down.
“Let us love you.”. Sapnap growled into his ear, then teased his teeth against it to make him squeal. Bubbly giggles filled the air as then attacked his face and neck with teasing little kisses.
George reached down and yanked up Dream’s shirt to reveal his tummy.
“Guys!”, he squeaked. He couldn’t stand kisses on his worst spot, no way.
“We owe you kisses!”, George beamed, then dove down. Ticklish lips teased quickly in a line below his bellybutton and he was helpless to the laughter startled out of him. The soft kisses drew a heart around his bellybutton, making him jump and squeak. “So squeaky today…”, George murmured amusedly. The lips pressed into his bellybutton and moved strangely, like George was mouthing something.
“What did you say!”, he demanded, sounding a little delirious.
“I said you're squeaky today.”, George sat up and smirked.
“No. Into my bell-um. What you. Uh.”, Dream blinked, finding himself unable to say the words. His cheeks burned harshly.
“Kitty whispering sweet nothings into your bellybutton?”.
There was a playful nip to his side, making him squeal. Sapnap moved down to join George.
“You have to be sweeter! Like this!”, Sapnap said, nudging George aside and peppering his shaky tummy with the ticklish kisses. He realized his hands were free and covered his face with them, giggling hysterically. His tail thumped clumsily against the bed and wall. They made him feel so…silly. He was lovesick. Squeaks and gasps punctured his laughter as the two fought for ground on his tummy. Each kiss was sweet, too sweet. The sugary affection made his giggles embarrassingly high pitched. Little yips escaped.
“Puppy...”, George coo’ed. Dream’s feet tangled in the blankets.
He covered his face, grabbed at the pillow, pulled his own hair, his hands darted around in the ticklish panic. But, he didn’t push them away. He loved them. He could feel their love. He was happily drowning in it. Tortured by it. He could already hear them teasing him later. His cutesy happy giggles far too bubbly to not be brought up again to fluster him.
A squeal was startled out of him again as a kiss was pressed to the side of his knee. George giggled.
“He’s so ticklish.”. A flurry of kisses was peppered against his kneecap, making him shake as the hysterical giggles poured out.
Sapnap pressed his lips into his bellybutton and smooched into it loudly, making Dream cry out.
“I love your giggles.”, Sapnap whispered.
“If you ever want kisses, just ask. Idiot.”, George said, then bit softly into the flesh above Dream’s knee to make him squeal again.
“Okay!”.
“Just say I want kisses!!!”, Sapnap made his voice go ridiculously high.
“Is that supposed to be me?”, Dream asked through his unending giggles. He pushed himself to sit up on the bed to glare down at his boyfriends, but only found himself blushing harder at their playful smirks.
“He’s right. You’re like…hehehe!!”, George squeaked out fake girly laughter as he suddenly clamped his hand around Dream’s thigh. He squeezed meanly, shocking a cackle out of him.
“Stop!!”, he reached out to grab for George, but Sapnap tickled quickly into his stomach. “Guys!!!”. He crumbled under the sudden rush of tickling, bursting into loud laughter.
It was a little rare for the two of them to gang up on him, but he had given them the perfect opportunity like this. George sat up and grabbed both of his thighs boldly, making him throw his head back as the uncontrollable laughter took him over. He went to reach for him, but Sapnap blew a raspberry into his stomach, quickly disabling him. Suddenly, there were hands all over. He screeched and fell into hysterical laughter, already so riled up from the affectionate teasing.
“Please!!!”, he begged. Here, he was lost. Dizzy with love and laughter. His mean playful boyfriends knowing exactly how to take him apart.

Human AU I might write someday or I might not idk
First for context
Itsfunneh
If you haven't seen her channel it's her and the krew doing random stuff on mostly roblox
The krew consists of her and her siblings and they all each have their own channels (Although most videos are on funneh's)
Well that concept (kinds of)
But applied to the black swan group
Like they all have the main "keeper crew" channel that they do vlogs and challenge videos on
And THEN they each have their own channels they do their own things on
Sophie: would definitely be a booktok girly as well as mini vlogs
Keefe: hair turorials/art videos/pranks
Fitz: BAKING! Skate boarding (cause...why not)
Biana: makeup tutorials/grwms/general fashion
Dex: software type things/ life hacks/study tips/chemistry and science/ the other nerd type things I'm into watching
Tam: he would TOTALLY make those sarcastic pov videos (the ones like "pov: your teacher says 'the bell doesn't dismiss you I do'" then he smacks the crap out of the teacher....yeah those) also he'd make FIRE edits of the most ridiculous things
Linh: sea life/beach content/water safety/pet shelter volunteering
And BONUS: they do little crossovers on each other's channels ALL the time
Like Keefe dex and Tam joining Fitz at the skatepark
Biana forcing Sophie to be her subject for a makeup tutorial and Sophie fighting against it the entire video (audience thinks it's hilarious)
Keefe joining Sophie on her little vlogs and being cute and couply
Limh and Biana playing with pets at rhe shelter
Keefe doing pranks on Fitz CONSTANTLY
Dex having Biana in with his science experiments (cue the absolutely awful cheesy science flirting that he tries his best on)
Tam including Linh in his sibling POVs
And they're fairly well known for their stuff
Not celebrities or anything but enough to where fans sometimes stop them on the street every few months and people at school know
LOVE this concept sm 😭
Anyone be interested in this?

I'm very aware that I do not take onto new hobbies and habits with consistency which is why I can never learn a new language by myself amongst many other things I can't keep up with. however, if I had to choose I'd definitely consider video editing, resin art, and blogging my hobbies... just because, even when the novelty of these three activities wear off and I don't open an editing software, or even touch resin for a couple months when I look back I still want to do it. blogging is a little different just because I don't consider that a "hobby" but a long embedded routine and form of expression. It's like eating breakfast for me. I edit vlogs and other videos very sporadically, and I'll have short bursts of productivity, as with creating resin pieces too but I pursue these things with more enthusiasm than anything else in my life. lately I've been really getting into a pudding mould I have and I can see myself wanting to come home and work on new pieces. Is it fleeting? yes, but I know eventually I will do it in comparison to something where I straight up won't ever do even if I say I would like I don't know, exercise or something.

The Ultimate Guide: How to Create a YouTube Channel
In the era of digital content creation, YouTube stands as a behemoth platform, offering countless opportunities for individuals, businesses, and even kids to showcase their talents, share their passions, and earn money. Whether you’re a seasoned content creator or a complete beginner, creating a YouTube channel is easier than you might think. Let’s dive into the world of YouTube and explore how to get started, regardless of your age or technical expertise.
Getting Started:
Why Create a YouTube Channel? The reasons are endless! Whether it’s to share your expertise, entertain, educate, or promote your business, YouTube provides a global stage for your voice.
Requirements and Restrictions: Before diving in, it’s crucial to understand YouTube’s age restrictions and guidelines. While anyone can create a channel, certain features may be limited for users under 13, and parental supervision may be required.
Choosing a Channel Name: Your channel name is your brand identity. Make it catchy, relevant, and easy to remember. There are plenty of online tools to help generate creative names if you’re feeling stuck.
Account Setup: Creating a YouTube channel requires a Google account. If you don’t have one, it’s a simple process to set up. Once done, head to YouTube, click on your profile picture, and select “Create a Channel.”
Customizing Your Channel: Personalize your channel with channel art, profile picture, and a compelling channel description. This is your chance to make a memorable first impression on visitors.
Creating Content:
Content Strategy: Determine what type of content you want to create. Whether it’s vlogs, tutorials, gaming, or music covers, choose a niche that aligns with your interests and expertise.
Equipment and Setup: You don’t need fancy equipment to start. A smartphone with a decent camera and microphone is often sufficient. Focus on creating high-quality content with what you have.
Filming and Editing: Plan your videos, film in good lighting, and edit your footage to enhance quality. There are numerous free and paid editing software options available for all skill levels.
Optimizing for Search: Utilize keywords, tags, and engaging thumbnails to make your videos discoverable. Research trending topics and optimize your content for maximum reach.
Monetization and Beyond:
Monetization Options: Once you’ve established your channel and gained a loyal audience, explore monetization avenues such as ads, channel memberships, merchandise, and sponsored content.
Engage with Your Audience: Building a community is key to long-term success. Respond to comments, ask for feedback, and engage with your audience on social media platforms.
Continuous Learning: The world of YouTube is constantly evolving. Stay updated with the latest trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to keep your channel thriving.
Child Safety: If creating a channel for a child, ensure strict adherence to YouTube’s guidelines for minors. Supervision, moderation, and age-appropriate content are paramount.
From creating your first video to building a loyal fanbase, embarking on your YouTube journey is an exciting adventure filled with endless possibilities. With dedication, creativity, and a willingness to learn, anyone can find success on this dynamic platform. So, what are you waiting for? Start creating and let your voice be heard on YouTube!

April 30th 2024

Not much of a garden update here, but I assure you there has actually been some progress. So here's a photo of one of my dove frens I took one the 28th.
Keep readin' if you wanna hear me blab on about the video posts and ADHD. You've been warned, it's long 😂
So I've been enjoying doing the video-style posts instead of typing 90 paragraphs of nonsense, but I don't want to keep recording with my phone since the videos take up a bunch of space. (As well as me having to take off my dirt-coated gardening gloves every time I want to record.) I could just delete the clips after editing into one video, or just all of them after uploading, but I prefer having things backed up instead of just uploaded online.
I know I could back them up to my computer too, but part of the reason I enjoy the quick clips of nonsense slapped together with minimal editing is because it's simple and I can do it all on my phone. Either plugging it into my computer or even uploading them to Google Drive on my phone then downloading them onto the computer adds extra steps.
Extra steps that seem inconsequential, but something I know about myself is I'm very all or nothing. It's very hard for me to only do half of a thing. In this example that'd be editing the videos together and then hitting the block that I've finished that part and uploaded, but now I need to plug in my phone to the computer to transfer the video files. Or if I back them up to drive, it only has so much space before it yells at me to upgrade lol
Drive seems like the most logical option though as it would give me the freedom to at least have more time before I have to download the backups, however I know for a fact that when that point comes I won't record any more videos even if I want to because I need the space to back them up, but I dont want to sit down on the computer to download the Drive backups because I'm doing other things and will get distracted if I do.
This is a struggle for me in a lot of aspects, can't do Z because I need to do X but I can't do X until I do Y, and I need to finish ABC before I can do Y, but all I really want to finish is Z. And worse is that most times to do Z, there isn't any need for the other stuff. It's just me wanting Z done in a certain way that to do it that certain way, it requires all those other steps. This happens in the garden a lot too, so this rant is kinda still relevant 😅
Thankfully all of that hasn't caused an issue with me just not doing garden things because I want to record it, because trust me when I say that's happened a lot in the past too. (That being me wanting to make a little video of something but not being able to figure out how I want to set up the cameras so I don't do the craft or whatever because I want to record it so it just never happens but sticks in my brain as the thing I want to do but can't till I figure the recording process out.) Depression is the reason why I haven't been gardening 🤣
All this to say I have like, 2 days worth of clips I want to edit into a post to show the progress so far. One day is clips on my phone, the other I recorded with a little action camera and I'm not sure how that's turned out yet since that requires me to upload to the computer to see better. (See computer related snag above as to why thats not done!) Today I might go even further and just bring out my small digital camera I got years ago to do vlogs with, that I never vlogged with.
Which leads me to my last point, and Ima make a poll for thoughts on the idea after this post cause I know this is a lot to read and most folks won't care, and that's fine! I think maybe I will use that camera for vlogging finally. I'd have to learn how to use an actual video editing software, and it'd have to be lightweight cause my once-top-of-the-line-parts-now-10-years-outofdate computer struggles hard to play Helldivers 2 right now, I can't imagine trying to run something like Premier Pro. But to be honest all I want to do is add auto-captions like Ive already done previously so I'm sure I can fine some free or cheap program to do so. I'm just not sure if like, amateur gardening vlog style videos where I mutter to myself as I pour dirt is really a genre of content lmfao. And if it is, it's probs better off on here or tiktok but I'm going insane trying to not film landscape everytime I go to record something.
So like, I dunno, I guess youtube? I can probs figure out how to sorta make it acceptable for portrait orientation viewing after the fact? I have no idea but if there's a gap in video updates for today, that's why 🤣
Alright that's all for now. I gotta get up, get sunscreen'd, and get out there! As long as it's not raining still... it was last night 😅
#not really a gardening post#but theres a birb!#and me rambling about my stuggles with adhd and junk#a blog update of sorts i guess

Today's report on tiktok drama: the label "Universal Music Group" has decided to pull all songs recorded by their artists from TikTok. UMG makes up a HUGE market share of top artists, including Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. While the mainstream artists will be fine, smaller artists under the UMG label do not care for this, as they do a ton of marketing on TikTok. In any case, the TikTok edit makers have now had a huge portion of their edits muted for copyright infringement.
So, here is a list of songs I have seen edit makers use in place of UMG owned songs:
Crickets sound effects
Ambient forest sound effects
The simlish version of Hot In Here, by Nelly
The default iPhone alarm sound
Club remix of the default iPhone alarm sound
The default Samsung alarm sound
Several Kevin MacLeod songs (the copyright free music you would hear behind YouTube vlogs in 2014)
The subway surfers theme song
The WII sports theme
The Home Depot theme song
The 20th Century Fox theme song
The gummy bear song
The song the TikTok app plays when it wants you to share your contacts
I HAVE A STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT AND I NEED CASH NOW. CALL JG WENTWORTH 877 CASH NOW!
Ode to Joy by Beethoven
A cover of Think U The Shit by Ice Spice, where the singer is doing a Jennifer Coolidge impression
Various covers of UMG songs made with a shitty earbud mic and free editing software
Stadium Rave, from SpongeBob, and various other SpongeBob songs
The Gettysburg Address
the fitness gram pacer test is a multi stage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets harder as it continues
CBAT
#so many edits i liked got muted 😭 thank GOD i downloaded my favorite#and yeah some editors are just using normal music not owned my umg but thats not as funny or interesting#tiktok#im surprised i havent seen any posts talking abt this situation#but honestly im glad cuz im sure the posts would be smug and annoying as hell and ignore any complexities in the situation#glowing posts

Interview with TikTok Star, Caoimhe Morris
February 25, 2020
TikTok is a rapidly growing social media app, created when ByteDance, a Beijing-based company, spent $1 billion to purchase Musical.ly and merged their own app Douyin (Chinese: 抖音) with it. The new app was launched in 2017. Rising in popularity each year since. In 2019, CNET announced TikTok was the 7th most downloaded mobile app of the decade, from 2010 to 2019.
It is a micro-video app, one where users create and share videos from 15 to 60 seconds. The editing features are leagues above the standard social media apps, more comparable to that of professional editing software. 1,000 of features, from instant eye recoloring to flaming backgrounds, all with a single click. The app has videos for anyone and everyone ranging from cooking, vlogging, comedy, music, politics, and cosplay.
I asked a TikToker I’ve been following if I could interview her, she said yes. She is Caoimhe Morris, @caoimhemorris on TikTok, who has 910.7 K followers and 23.9 million likes. She is a cosplayer, famous for creating and acting as her own characters.
* 3/21/20 Update, due to user scandals Caoimhe is no longer friends with @clapdaddie (Colton) or @infernumasylum (Ian). She is distancing her account from them both and no longer working with either.
McPherson: What would you like our readers to know about you?
Morris: I am a geeky girl that likes to dress up and act like other people.
McPherson: How has your life changed because of this app?
Morris: I didn’t really notice how much this app had changed my life until I realized I only hang out with TikTokers now and not even on purpose. I literally have made so many amazing friends on this app and have had so many unforgettable experiences like traveling or getting to work with brands I never thought I would, overall I’m just so grateful for getting this far.
McPherson: Is there anything you’d change if you were given a second chance?
Morris: I try not to live with regrets because they make you into the person you are.
McPherson: How do you edit so well?
Morris: I loved the creative field even when I was younger, I wanted to act, make films, draw basically do anything under the sun but I didn’t have the people to really put it together so I taught myself how to edit, film etc so I could just do it myself.
McPherson: What has been the best moment you’ve had so far on the app?
Morris: The best moment I’ve had on this app is probably anytime in Aruba. Gil, Jayden, Colton, the twins, Ian, Gilean and everyone else in this little familia is amazing and to know that I didn’t know them a couple months ago is crazy because I feel like I’ve known them for so long at this point and memories we have created are unforgettable.
McPherson: What has been the worst moment you’ve had so far on the app?
Morris: Probably when I put a lot of hard work into a video and no one sees it, that’s a little disheartening but it’s ok next video will be better. McPherson: Do you think the friendships you’ve made with other creators will last?
Morris: I hope so! I know some of us will drift apart but there are some that I am pretty sure will last a long time. McPherson: Are there any new original characters secrets you could share? Backstories, new characters?
Morris: I have a new character I’m working on where her band and her are cursed and anytime they play their music they turn into these “creatures” but apart from that new characters are still in the works. Secrets wise the only secret I can think of is a lot of people don’t know that Frenchie kisses her victims on the cheek after she kills them. [Frenchie is Caoimhe’s mafia character.]
McPherson: Do you see yourself moving into more social media apps anytime soon?
Morris: Probably I would love to do more YouTube stuff but I think right now TikTok is good enough for me!

Every great video starts with a compelling concept. Take the time to brainstorm ideas, exploring different themes, narratives, or messages you want to convey. Whether it's a short film, a tutorial, or a vlog, a strong concept will form the foundation for your video.
Plan Your Shots:
Storyboarding or creating a shot list is crucial in ensuring a smooth and organized video shoot. Visualize the sequence of shots, camera angles, and transitions you want to incorporate. This preparation will save you time during filming and make the editing process much more efficient.

Edit with Finesse:
Once you have captured all the footage, it's time to bring it all together in the editing room. Use professional video editing software to trim and arrange your clips, add transitions, effects, and graphics, and fine-tune the pacing and rhythm of your video. Editing allows you to shape the story and create a cohesive and visually appealing final product.
Engage Your Audience:
After you've created your masterpiece, it's time to share it with the world. Upload your video to platforms like Tumblr, YouTube, or social media channels. What Is Passive Income?
Passive income is money earned with little to no daily effort. Unlike active income (like a full-time job), passive income allows you to earn consistently without being directly involved all the time. While passive income often requires an initial investment of time, money, or skills, it can eventually generate steady earnings even when you're not working actively.
Top Passive Income Ideas in India (2025)
1. Start a Blog
Blogging is one of the most popular ways to earn passive income online in India. If you are passionate about a topic — travel, food, technology, fashion, or finance — you can start a blog and monetize it through:
Google AdSense
Affiliate Marketing
Sponsored Posts
Selling digital products
Initial Investment: Domain, hosting, content creation Time to Profit: 6–12 months
2. Invest in Stocks and Mutual Funds
Stock market investing, when done right, can generate dividends and capital appreciation. Mutual funds offer a more hands-off approach, especially through Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs).
Dividend-paying stocks provide regular income.
Index funds offer long-term returns with minimal risk.
Initial Investment: ₹500 onwards (for SIPs) Time to Profit: 1–5 years
3. Create an Online Course
If you have expertise in a subject — programming, design, cooking, marketing, etc. — you can create a digital course and sell it on platforms like:
Udemy
Skillshare
Teachable
Graphy (Indian platform)
Once created, the course can earn money for years with minimal updates.
Initial Investment: Time and knowledge Time to Profit: 3–6 months
4. YouTube Channel
Starting a YouTube channel is another powerful way to earn passive income in India. Once your channel gains enough subscribers and views, you can monetize through:
YouTube Partner Program (Ad revenue)
Affiliate marketing
Brand sponsorships
Popular niches in India include:
Entertainment
Tech reviews
Tutorials
Lifestyle vlogs
Initial Investment: Camera, mic, editing software Time to Profit: 6–12 months
5. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing involves promoting products and earning a commission for every sale through your referral link. You can do this via:
Blogging
YouTube
Social media (Instagram, Facebook, Telegram channels)
Popular affiliate programs in India:
Amazon Associates
Flipkart Affiliate
ShareASale
Commission Junction
Initial Investment: Content platform Time to Profit: 3–6 months
6. Rent Your Property
If you own a house or a spare room, you can earn passive income by renting it out:
Long-term tenants
Short-term rentals via Airbnb or OYO Rooms
PG accommodations for students
Rental income is one of the oldest and most reliable passive income streams.
Initial Investment: Real estate Time to Profit: Immediate (if property is ready)
7. Write and Sell eBooks
If you're a good writer, consider writing eBooks and publishing them on platforms like:
Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP)
Gumroad
Notion Marketplaces
Popular topics include:
Self-help
Finance
Productivity
Short stories and novels
Initial Investment: Time and writing tools Time to Profit: 1–3 months
8. Create a Mobile App or Website
If you have tech skills or can hire a developer, creating an app or website can be an excellent source of passive income. Monetize it through:
Advertisements
In-app purchases
Paid subscriptions
Lead generation
Popular ideas: budget tracker, health apps, local services platform, productivity tools
Initial Investment: ₹20,000–₹1,00,000 Time to Profit: 6–12 months
9. Sell Stock Photos and Videos
Are you a photographer or videographer? You can earn money by selling stock content on platforms like:
Shutterstock
Getty Images
iStock
Adobe Stock
Each time someone downloads your photo or video, you earn a royalty.
Initial Investment: Camera, editing software Time to Profit: 3–6 months
10. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Lending
P2P platforms allow you to lend money to individuals or small businesses and earn interest. Platforms like:
Faircent
Lendbox
RupeeCircle
offer better returns than fixed deposits or savings accounts, but do carry risk.
Initial Investment: ₹5,000–₹10,000 onwards Time to Profit: Monthly interest payments
Tips for Success in Passive Income Ventures
Start Small: Test an idea with minimum investment.
Be Consistent: Passive income requires consistency in the beginning.
Diversify: Don’t rely on a single source.
Reinvest: Reinvest early earnings to build momentum.
Stay Updated: Online trends change fast; keep learning and adapting.
Final Thoughts
Creating passive income streams in India is more achievable than ever. With the right strategy, patience, and persistence, you can build a portfolio of income sources that work for you round the clock. Whether you choose blogging, investing, course creation, or real estate, the key is to start now and stay committed.
Remember: Passive income is not instant income. It’s built over time. But once established, it can give you financial freedom — and the luxury of making money while you sleep.
