*squints* I'm beginning to suspect that at the very least, growing up in a cop family where I was told every other person in the world was seconds away from attempting to kidnap or harm me at all times, and having friends who at several points in my life reduced me to tears with their 'if you're not with me on this <some kind of beef with another friend> then we are not friends' bullshit and who regularly made fun of me for a variety of things... May have Done Things to me. And maybe none of those things are actually a normal part of early childhood.

Shout out to the several actually good friends I had as a kid, most of who are out as non binary and trans now lmao

I told myself that I was gonna say yes the next time he asked but its such a blatently stupid move that I can't even. I'm making progress with the other people in my life, i'm not going to throw all possibility of real love away for some stupid boy i've known my whole life. I love him a lot, i know that, but he doesn't really love me. He's just like me, he's willing to do anything to get even an ounce of whatever feels like love.

He also seems to be using work as a sort of coping mechanism, Jerome experienced a nightmare and his first response was to continue to work which I quickly shut down and forced him back to bed.
