A wlw pred/prey couple who are just extremely soft and trusting with each other and who are both working through different issues related to their nature.
The prey has trauma about being eaten. She’s had bad experiences with a lot of preds she’s encountered— they treat her like a piece of meat and take delight in her suffering, and they seem all too eager to push her past the breaking point. She’s narrowly escaped being digested and she still has graphic, gorey nightmares about dying alone in some random pred’s stomach. Some days she doesn’t see herself as human.
The pred is terrified of losing control and hurting someone. There’s never been any reason for her to believe she would ever do so, but she’s heard the stories. She’s seen others like her fall down that dark isolating path, where the animal madness grips their minds and the hunger pangs completely destroy any prior regard they may have had for their loved ones, for human life itself. She’s worried that one day she’ll wake up and there will be a monster staring back at her in the mirror.
Vore doesn’t come as casual to them as other prey/pred couples. They actually barely engage in it at all; outsiders may see this as “weird” or “unnatural,” but honestly they all just need to mind their own damn business.
Instead of eating each other, the two of them just cuddle up under a blanket and forget the rest of the world together. As strange as it is, the prey actually enjoys listening to her pred's stomach gurgles... it might be because they're the first digestive sounds she's heard where she knows she's actually safe while listening to them. Her life is not in danger. Her life actually... really matters to this pred.
And the pred loves having a prey who trusts her so completely, enough to snuggle against her warm body and listen to how her body breaks down regular food. She may worry sometimes, but in those moments of despair her prey is her anchor, her tether back to reality. It's grounding, comforting.
They have nothing to be ashamed of.

The pit viper naga removed itself from the man’s shoulder, returning its fangs to the back of its maw with a *pop*. It was just a little taste but enough to make the snake salivate. It drooled venom and spit over the prey in its coils, wiping its mouth with a rough leathery hand.
Venom in most nagas exists to paralyze, weaken, or kill their prey. But rather than slow this prey down, the viper watched as the man’s writhing picked up, his breathing faster and shallower. Everything is working as intended.
“Keep some of that squirming for when you're inside, love~.” it hissed, pressing its coiled prey against its body. The man could hear the churning of its stomach along with rather frequent *grrrrrrowls*. The man thrashed, giving the snake the perfect opportunity to shove his head into its waiting maw. Thick, strong gulps kept the squirming man in place as he quickly disappeared into the first stomach, then the second. It shivered in delight, feeling its body stretched in just the right ways.
The naga fondly pat the new bulge in its coils. Cruel as the snake was, it much preferred merely tormenting its prey instead of killing them. The viper would release this one - if only to take up the chase, again and again…

Can you make comfort vore? From Optimus?
Hello, dear evelyntyecrqzy!
Sure! Here you go!
P.S: there is angst and one heavy word in this work. Also I've written it from the first person's perspective... I really hope you don't mind it.
Have a good day and take care!
Tumblr media
***
- How do you feel, little one?
It was late evening; almost all the lights were gone, the only bright area was Ratchet’s lab: the old medic was staring at the big green screen, typing aggressively on the panel and mumbling something inaudible. He was too busy to pay attention to anything else. The rest of the team left to their quarters after they had brought the kids home. No body had shown any signs of life since then.
I was lying on the couch, curled up in a tight ball. My head felt heavy and hurt; I felt cold and lonely. It was hard to hold back sobbing, but I didn't want to attract unnecessary attention - nobody cared anyways. Why would they? Were my problems that important?
I squeezed my eyes shut, tears running down my cheeks violently as my shoulders started shuddering...
And then I heard his deep, gentle voice.
"How do you feel, little one?" - I turned my red face to the huge mech behind me. Optimus Prime, my guardian. Through the cacophony of my thoughts I hadn't heard him coming. His blue optics far above glowed with concern.
I hurried to wipe the tear tracks from my face and stand up, mumbling something like: "Sorry" or "It's fine, don't bother yourself..." But as far as I did this, his large servo wrapped around me and very soon I found myself sitting on his plain rough palm, being swirled with his kind, sad gaze. I felt nothing but guilt, though the only reason for it was my depressing mood. I couldn't look straight at him, turning away over and over, rubbing my hot cheeks in attempt to get rid of the tears. I hated myself for the mess I had become – I waited for him to throw me away as far as he would get a good look at my ugliness. However, Optimus didn't seem disgusted with me at all.
- Did someone offend you? - The mech asked again with the same sincere tenderness in his tone.
I shook my head negatively.
- Is it something in your body?
I closed my face with both hands and shook the head even more violently, crooking.
- No...
- And what’s about your soul?..
I sniffed silently; choking sensation dug its claws into my throat as it let out a pathetic "Mm-gm..." and I nodded. Everything in me just fell somewhere down; I felt my poor heart beating hysterically in the stomach. There was a crazy mix of panicking fear and complete indifference. I was trembling, wishing to be left alone. But even more, I wanted to be comforted. I wanted someone to embrace me and whisper soothing words, to say that it was going to be OK, to stroke my hair as if I was just a kid. But wasn't it too much to ask? I didn't dare to believe Optimus would bother himself to spend time with such a puny, pathetic creature.
After this cut through my head, I couldn't keep myself from crying anymore – I literally burst out.
- Hey, look at me, Y/N.
Hesitantly, I obliged. I was ready to see disappointment or distaste, but instead...
- There is nothing to be embarrassed with. Do you want to talk about it?
I wasn't sure if I heard him right. Did he really... worry about me? Of course, as my guardian, he should have, regardless... Wasn't I dreaming?
- W-what d-do you m-mean? – I replied indecisively.
- I thought, perhaps you could share your pain with someone. Sometimes it helps. - A small, understanding smile appeared on his faceplate. - I'm sorry... It hurts my spark to see such precious little thing crying.
I lost my ability to speak for some seconds.
- Does it r-really? W-why?
Prime's eyebrows lifted up in surprise.
- Because you matter. You're my friend, Y/N. Friends help each other, don't they?
His gravely voice had already had its way with me. My shudders calmed down and though my eyes were still wet, I couldn't help but smiled back at him.
- Thank you... for this... But I don't want to talk right now...
- It's absolutely fine...
- ... I'm very, very tired, though. - At the moment I said that, my spine weakened and I collapsed at the flat, warm surface of Optimus' hand.
Something childish, basic, something from the abyss of my wild, subconscious core suddenly arose inside me and escaped my chest with barely audible plead.
- Please... Don't leave me here...
A quiet sigh rambled beside me; my entire figure was washed with warm air of his exhale.
- Don't worry, Y/N. I won't.
His digits closed over my tiny form. I wasn't able to see a thing anymore, but I could say for sure that we moved away from the place.
Quite soon the sounds of Ratchet's work faded away. Optimus opened one of the many electric doors and walked into a somewhat room - I heard a soft "whoosh" as the panel shifted back to its place. My guardian set me free on his berth, and only then I understood that we were in his private room. Sitting down beside me, he spoke even gentler than before:
- You are out of energy. And so do I. But still, I don't want you to stay alone...
Do you trust me?
I nod, already predicting where he was heading to. Cybotronian friends committed this small ritual with humans regularly; many were fond of it. However, I had never tried it with him. I couldn't claim that I was completely inexperienced too, but those previous times were emergencies which I couldn't truly like – they were harsh and distasteful like a rotten fruit. Now... It promised to be much more intimate. And it depended only on my wish.
I glanced at him through my eyelashes - I was too sleepy to keep the eyes wide open - and murmured:
- I do.
Optimus nodded. I was lifted up again - straight to his mouth.
Slowly, controlling every his movement, my guardian guided me inside his maw and laid my feet on his squishy glossa - there was a faint blue light twinkling at the back of his depthless throat illuminating a humid, warm chamber. Thanks to him I didn't even touch the sharp dents – their deadly blades loomed right above me, but stayed harmless, serving simply a reminder of what power Optimus actually had over me. The glossa curled around my legs as soft, thick blanket, then released them and I was pushed further to the glowing entrance of the esophagus.
I stared down, processing what was about to happen. I appreciated the leisure pace Optimus chose with me; his gentle licks and steady, rhythmical ventilating brought me nothing but comfort and peace. I sensed my toes in his pharynx and waited for inevitable with dull thrill - to be unceremoniously drugged into misty, humid confines of the muscles’ trap, to be deafed and choked. That what I was usually met with before, every time I was gulped down. However, when Optimus swallowed, his artificial, metal flesh contracted just slightly, pulling me so carefully inside that I almost missed the moment. It was like... A hug. The next swallow was just a little bit stronger - I gasped as he let his hand go off me and my tiny being got engulfed into his soft throat. It felt better than anything I knew before. Surrounded by the pulsing alien flesh, I finally felt protected and loved – the state I sought for so desperately all that fuckin’ day.
For some time he just held me there, his head titled back. I didn't make a move, trying to avoid hurting him. Living heat of his soaked into my bones and made me so drowsy that I thought I would fall asleep. However, at that moment the muscles came to action and lovingly tugged me deeper. The light grew brighter, though it didn't bother me at all; I was easily slipping in a long wiry tube constructed from the smaller ones, thinner and more solid, poured with viscous, bubbling energon – I was watching little sparks floating in there as I was passing by and a weak flame of forgotten happiness flickered in my soul once more.
Finally, I arrived at his fueltank. Its walls greeted me with a friendly squeeze, forcing me to curl into fetal position. I didn't cry anymore; all my worries and demons disappeared long ago, at the second I heard: "How do you feel, little one?"
God! I was so horribly wrong. I thought no one needed me, that I was lost, abandoned... And still, there was someone who couldn't bare me cry.
I felt Optimus' servo laying down on the lump I must have made on his waist, caressing me. I rubbed my head against the spot where I could recognize the pressure and smiled.
I did matter.

Pred that's never eaten prey thinks he's different than other preds. He mingles and makes friends with prey, assuming he will always be in control of himself because he has never tasted the flesh of prey, nor desires to.
However, one day, his predator instincts come knocking, maybe a situation arises where food becomes sparse, or he ends up accidentally getting a taste. Either way, he finds himself struggling to keep himself together, to keep from behaving like the rest of the preds he looked down upon.
It's only a matter of time before he devours his first prey and discovers how wonderous they taste, what it's like to have a truly full tummy. He'll never be able to stop, just like the rest of the preds.
(An idea in which preds are a rare species that crave prey on a fundamental level)
(Also sorta based on one of my ocs)

I've been having some hurt/comfort thoughts for awhile now. I might make some ocs around this. SFW, platonic (queerplatonic?), victim blaming, blood mention, background murder, found family, angst and fluff, vore-adjacent.
A pred and a prey duo, in an unlikely friendship. The pred is smaller than the prey, and is somehow vegetarian, but is definitely still intimidating to the prey due to their long claws and sharp teeth and stoic face. They're aware that they come off as threatening to others, and do their best to be kind with their actions, and hide their claws in thick gloves. Besides, if no one knows exactly what they're capable of with those claws, then the chances of being traced back to their "nightshift" are low.
The prey is a survivor of an almost fatal digestion, and they would've been just another victim if their pred hadn't saved them and brought them to a hospital in time. Since then, the prey has both developed trauma from the encounter, and a fragile bond with the pred. The pred insisted to give them their number, afterall. To call just in case they needed help again. For anything.
They started talking, and one thing led to another, and now it's a common occurrence to find the pred in the prey's apartment, taking care of stuff the prey can't always manage on their own now. Making sure the prey doesn't forget to care for themself, helping them run down to the laundromat, cooking for the both of them when the prey can't get out of bed. The pred has been helping them when their family is either too far away to, or blames the prey for what happened (you wouldn't have been taken if you hadn't been alone that night, we raised you better than to go to a mixed bar, let alone by yourself). Because of that, they keep the pred's night time habits to themself, and pointedly do not ask about the faint smell of blood whenever the pred shows up in the mornings. They don't want to know (and they'd like to keep plausible deniability, thank you).
The prey's been going to a support group for others like them. People who were lucky. Someone suggested something like exposure therapy once, mostly as a joke (which wasn't well received). Which...honestly at this point, the prey is tired of being a live wire after what happened, and they would do just about anything to just Go Back To Normal now. So the idea stuck. All they had to do is work up the courage. The prey doesn’t fully trust the pred afterall. They can't after what happened, and what they know the pred is doing to other preds. It's not illegal, technically, if sufficient evidence is found that it truly was in spontaneous aid to a caught prey. But it's not spontaneous. And the pred isn't going to court.
But the pred did say that it was ok to ask for help, even for the 'small' things. Not once have they made them feel like they were anything other than a person...a dear friend. Right. A dear friend. It would be fine.
So they ask to listen to the pred's stomach one weekend. The pred is flustered, confused, stoic face twisted up into a look something like they just got slapped in the face with a fish. Which would be funny, if the prey's heart wasn't trying to run out of their chest from nerves. They quietly explain what they mean to the pred, and the pred's eyes soften in understanding, face unscrunching into something once again unreadable.
The pred is...awkward. If the prey wasn't wholly consumed with their own worries, they would've picked up on the pred's rigid stance as fears of their own...They can't remember the last time someone had touched without the intention to hurt, or to take. And they need to be calm, or their big prey friend will be on edge and that would defeat the point. And their friend deserves to feel safe. Heaven help anyone who takes that away.
They set up in the living room. A cushiony chair is pulled up - a small couch really - and they somehow maneuver the pred to sit in it and the prey to kneel without saying a word. Lots of awkward shuffling, and a pillow for the prey's knees later, and the prey is nosing into the pred's stomach gently.
It's tense underneath their face, and the prey can hear the pred's breath hitch when they first make contact. Slowly, the pred relaxes into the touch, when pain doesn't come. The pred still grips the seat like a lifeline. (It's dizzying, to be so vulnerable, and to do it on purpose)
Then, the prey takes a breath, and presses their ear to the rumbling gut beneath them (it was just before lunch, like they planned). It whined and begged and burbled, warm and hungry. It sends a cold jolt of fear through them, making them freeze. It sounds so loud, so needy, just like it was when it was all around them that night when the acids started flowing in -
Tears are wiped away before they even know it exists. The pred strokes a finger gently through the fur between their eyes, hesitant but firm. They hush the prey, remind them that it's safe. They can stop if they need to. They don't even have to do this at all. They sound close to tears themself. The prey looks up into their face.
The gaze is piercing as it always is. But not unkind. They really would stop if the prey gave the word. They'd get up and get on with their days, and the prey wouldn't be just a meal stewing away inside their pred friend. The pred is more hungry for the tofu in the fridge than them, and their pred is a full head shorter anyways. Even if they wanted to, their pred couldn't take them past the point of no return.
(They wonder what it's like to be so short. Preds were usually a head taller than the prey or more. Perhaps their pred isn't a vegetarian by choice at all - they can't catch anyone being so small. They might also not be quick and strong and lethal by choice either...it must be easy to confuse the pred for a prey, or it might not functionally matter to some)
Armed with this knowledge, the prey nuzzles back in without a word. Their pred's breath hitches again, and comes out shaky when the prey snakes a hand upwards to run their thumb gently over their clothed lower belly. The same comforting little circles that their pred had been rubbing between their eyes a moment ago. They tense along with the motion, and the prey goes rigid again as the wet glorps roar again under their sensitive ears, announcing to the world just how much their pred's tummy was enjoying the attention (even if it would prefer attention from the inside at the moment). The prey counts the pred's climbing heartbeat, and stubbornly holds on even as they (both) shake in restrained fear. As the hour passes, they've never felt so safe and yet so afraid.
They decide that it's been a productive day, schedule another encounter next weekend, and break for lunch. No, the prey did not eat the last of the tofu, thank you very much. They much prefer the beansprouts anyways.

Another pred who feeds on negativity.
This one is more civilised, able to talk and interact with people, albeit somewhat introverted. They're at a party, chatting it up with new potential friends, and it's dragging on for a while. Everyone is so positive, the pred can't feed, and they're starting to get hungry. The situation slowly becomes more intolerable, the pred feels more overstimulated. They itch all over. They need to get out but they're still talking and this would all be so much easier if they weren't STARVING...
Suddenly everything stops. The pred's finally snapped, and one of the partygoers is gone, replaced by a wriggling bulge in their belly. Absorbing everyone's fear and confusion, the pred feels a lot better... and then they notice their surroundings.
I'm going to have to explain this, aren't I? they think.

Ch. 62 // The Downburst: Part 1 // Day 49
Contents (Warnings): The Downburst (Angsty, vore mentions, and character/monster info). Read full chapter on - A03
Wordcount: 3,400+ (HEY SORRY EVERYONE FOR BEING SO LATE WITH THIS! I had a lot of life jazz hitting me at once!)
Side note: This will contain experimental writing; first person (Lynette's view) will be implemented alongside third person for the two other essential characters, (mostly) Alexander and (occasionally) Drake. All their text will be italicized for those third-person moments, with the characters' names in Bold at the start and their thoughts in Bold. There may be other characters I write for using this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
(Nov. 11th, Friday)
Alexander
His whole body ached. Why the fuck did I agree? Why did I just want to get my ass kicked? He glared back at Drake, who stumbled behind him.
After his first game with Wicks, he didn't want to admit it, but it made him want to train his magic again. And especially now since that psycho, Wicks, repeatedly beat him into the ground with a smile.
Though, he started to remember why he stopped training so much too. He felt less in control and vulnerable when he pushed himself too much in an unfamiliar environment. And what made it worse was the smell.
Her scent is everywhere. Alexander cursed in his head. It had been difficult to be in the house without feeling hungry. It was worse now. All his instincts made him want to find her because he was so low on energy.
He looked at Drake again. You get your damn drink, then I-
His thoughts dropped immediately. His body jolted as she stumbled back. She held one of the cold water bottles to her nose.
He had been avoiding her and supposed she was doing the same. The only time they ever really saw each other was for events.
“M-morning.” She muttered.
He felt his mouth start to salivate. She’s so tiny...fuck. He then threw his head up and swallowed hard. It took him a second to respond and move.
“If you’re going, go,” Alexander growled. He let her through.
Drake was about to say hi, but Lynette went between them. Alexander’s legs twitched.
“Alexander…”
He knew Drake was listening to his heart. He put his hand into his mouth. His flesh alone tasted so gross to him. He pressed down on it until he allowed himself to puncture it.
He pulled it out immediately after. The taste he hated lingered on his tongue. It kept his attention.
He healed his bleeding hand. He grumbled as he saw Drake take a blood pouch from the fridge. Alexander walked further inside the kitchen and leaned on the counter at the center. He crossed his arms and leaned back on it, watching the door.
He heard a light, "blegh," from behind him. He looked back at Drake over the sink. "It's magus blood, so gross."
“I don’t think I’m that gross,” Ace said, walking in.
His whole outfit and hair looked as dis-shelved as the rest, and so did Koi. She walked in after him.
Alexander never saw her as he did today. She always wore a suit. Today, she wore a tank top and shorts to train with them.
"You're not; they're just too taste-specific." She pressed her bangs back, getting them between bobby pins. "And Drake, if you are going to dump it, I'll gladly take it."
She leaned over the other side of the counter as Drake leaned over the sink to give it to her.
Ace moved to the fridge to get a water bottle. "I’m a little disappointed Lynette couldn’t join us. Watching and fighting Wicks was so much fun. It’d probably be fun to fight with her too."
The menace himself entered. It almost pissed Alexander off just to see that smug, grinning face. Asshole.
“Lynette’s too busy to beat us up,” Wicks said.
Alexander didn't understand the lie. Why does it matter if people know she's a human? It won't change anything. All they have to do is confront her to know.
Drake passed Wicks a water bottle and got himself a new pouch, this time of the right blood.
Wicks caught Alexander's eyes, and he smirked, “What’s wrong, buddy?”
Alexander was rarely ever on the defensive with his magic. And with Wicks, he had no choice but to be.
Alexander glared down at the magus; he was five inches taller. "Fuck off." He said, pulling his attention away. At least being in a room full of beings he didn't want to eat calmed his nerves slightly. Until it started to wander back to his hunger.
Damn it.
He couldn't wait for Drake. "I'm going out."
"We're all leaving soon. Why don't you chill with us for a while?" Ace questioned.
If I have to go to the wedding where she's the only human and I haven't eaten... He swallowed lightly at the thought. He pushed off the counter, "I'll meet you all there."
...
Lynette
We were in a room together, Charletta, Madre, and me. It was a bride's dressing room, connected to the bigger dressing room for all the bridesmaids, but it gave us the seclusion we needed.
Madre did Charletta's long hair. Usually, it would be down past the middle of her back, so she braided it up for her. Madre hummed while doing it. Her movement looked like second nature. I know she was the oldest of six girls.
I interrupted Madre's hum with my question. "Madre, you were never really a hairdresser, were you?" I asked. It wasn't because of her skill. She did an excellent job of cutting and styling our hair and her own.
"No," she admitted. "Though I've had a passion for doing hair." She was the one who taught me different braids and hairstyles. I touched on my favorite one she taught me that I have now. The Rapunzal braid. It perfectly tamed my wavy and slightly curly mess.
"Do you work at the C.P.P.A.?"
She shook her head, "I couldn't while you were all so small and Padre wasn't home..." She said. "Pero luego todos ustedes se hicieron tan grandes, tan rápido."
She sighed.
"Sí, y ahora me dan una conferencia sobre volverme loco durante el juego." Charletta replied smugly.
What game...oh right, the marked thing. I got to watch them all play fighting. They were all great, weren't they? They always are.
"Wicks did say you went a little wild," I slid my comment between them with a chuckle.
Charletta burst into laughter, turning back, causing Madre to huff as she was in the middle of finishing her hair.
"It's rare that I get to let loose!"
"Charletta, trae tu cabeza de vuelta aquí, no he terminado." Madre said and Charletta complied, swiveling back in her chair to face the mirror again.
"Lo siento," Charletta looked at me in the reflection, "but you know, speaking of beasts, I'm glad Wicks doesn't think Ulysses is a terror. I can imagine he'd try to destroy him."
The laugh that followed sounded so carefree. A whisper came after, "Not that I wouldn't fight him to the death if he tried."
"Charletta," Madre gave a light tap on her head.
"I was kidding...mostly."
She got tapped on her head harder.
Is Wicks that strong? Of course, he is...there's a lot I don't know about him, or...any of them isn't there.
I looked back up, and I could hear Charletta and Madre. Yet, I felt so far away. I was right beside Charletta, at arm's length of her right side.
I shook away my thoughts. Madre got to the other side of Charletta next to me.
"If you ever want to talk, Lyn, I'm here for you."
Her eyes always looked soft. She could yell at me, hear my stubborn voice fight back, punish me, or listen to me on my worst days, and that had never changed.
Wicks definitely had her eyes.
"I know; thank you, Madre."
...
Alexander
They were standing up over the crowd. Alexander's eyes wandered to his "problem." Why did it have to be you? You could have been related to any other magus's. He was frustrated by that fact. He glanced at the male to his left, Wicks. Since they met, this was the first time that the stubborn magus's attention was on something else. Precisely the bride and groom. They took the attention of everyone. Alexander hadn't known Charletta well.
He'd met her at Edgar's house once before, but that was it. Ulysses did talk about her frequently, though. I never imagined it would lead to this so soon...
They said their vows to one another.
Yet, his attention went to the rings and what was to come.
His muscles clenched, he could feel tight in his chest, and his breath became shallow. He closed his trembling hands. He could see, along with their rings, they were sealing a bind together.
His heart was starting to beat faster, and his lips trembled so hard he had to seal his lips. He pulled his eyes away and looked at the crowd to escape his thoughts.
It was then his swirling cloudy blue hue fell to his father. His feet shifted, but he stopped. Someone gripped the back of his suit. Drake had bent over and tugged it from behind.
He lowered his head, feeling Drake let go. He could hear the cheers around him once the newlyweds shared their kiss.
...
Wicks
He stuck to Lynette, intercepting many conversations she would have had with individuals he didn't trust. He rationalized that he did it simply for her safety and his promise to his parents, but...it was more than that.
Lynette was different and had been since Saturday. He walked away from her for only a few moments. He saw she was talking to Ace.
He hadn't seen her smile much this whole week. Ace seems to make her happy. It made him a little jealous. She was his best friend. He had plenty at the C.P.P.A., but Lynette...she had always been there. She had never left his side, always been the best sister he could ask for, a perfect partner in crime.
Maybe...she needs more time? Wicks thought to himself.
He wanted things to go back to how they were. He hated feeling so cut off from his best friend.
Not that he didn't expect it.
Yet, from what he understood, Ace had been a long-time friend of Charletta's and Ulysses'. So, he trusted him around her way more than any other human-eater, especially her coworkers. Which he didn't see around at the moment.
As the music began to change and more started to go to the dance floor at the center, Wicks saw Ace bowing to Lynette for a dance.
He hurried over and took Lynette's hand first, "Brothers get a first dance, sorry." He stole her away from Ace, to both of their surprises.
Once they got to the dance floor together, Lynette raised a brow, "Brothers get a first dance? Didn't we do the family dancing already?"
Wicks sighed, "Alright, you caught me..." He didn't see a point in playing coy. "I wanted to make sure you're okay. I know how you get when strangers are a little too friendly."
It wasn't a complete lie.
"He seems nice..." Lynette replied, then sighed, "But go ahead...tell me what kind of monster he is."
Wicks dropped his shoulders. Jeez, did I really make you think all monsters are bad? Or did those jerks at your job make you believe that? He kept his hold on her.
"He's a magus," Wicks said.
Lynette questioned, "Oh, like you guys."
"H-hey!" Wicks heard the tone. It definitely plucked a few heartstrings. What could I say? I'm the worst of them all. I've been lying over and over again to your face.
He could see her force her lips to smile, "I was kidding."
"You know nothing's...changed." It felt hard to say. He didn't want to admit that.
"I know, you're still all my family, and I love you." It was the only thing she said where he heard her honesty.
As they continued their dance, he smiled very lightly. "Love you too, Lentils, forever and always."
I wish I could explain it all to you.
...
Lynette
I got outside of the dance square, and I raised a brow. I swore I saw Wenna tugging Alexander along the dance floor. I wouldn't think Alexander could or would dance...
It was comical to see Wenna spinning him around. He looked mad, as usual. Drake's mom looked ready for the quick interception due to their behavior.
"Hey again, enjoy your dance?" Ace asked. He walked up beside me, leaning a hand on the white-clothed table.
"Yeah, Wicks was one of the people that taught me. He and Charletta had a big dance craze when we were younger." It was one or the other coming up with new things to play...they really feed off each other's craziness.
"Well, would you still like to dance?"
I nodded. My insides quivered, but I knew everyone was there. I didn't feel as alone as I would have if we had gone to a restaurant together. It was someone I didn't know with the intention of a date... "After this song, sure."
...
I felt calm. I didn't know why I felt so relaxed with a stranger. Well, as comfortable as I could be. We were surrounded by different people of different powers, but he didn't push me. When we danced, he seemed nervous to touch me.
He even stopped mid-way through the song when I felt queasy. And that's we were on one of the balconies, looking out over the giant courtyard. A few faces were outside by the big bonfire to the far left.
As I leaned on the curved white railing, my eyes drifted to the giant hedge maze to the right. I've only seen those in movies.
Ace kept his distance. "It's a beautiful night," I heard him. I looked up and saw a handful of stars glittering above. It wasn't a clear sky. There were still a few clouds nearing the moon.
"It is." I turned back to him to see he was staring. When our eyes met for too long, he shifted his back to the sky.
I started to peer past him to the balcony on our opposite side. It looked like Drake, Alexander, Koi, Viola, and another girl I didn't recognize. I almost waved simply because I saw Viola, but I refrained.
Grabbing their attention wouldn't be best.
"Something wrong?" He asked.
"N-no." You don't need to get involved with that chaos...nor should I. I tried to distract him and pointed down. "I'd love to explore that maze. It looks like it would be fun for a Halloween thing, right?" I was a baby when it came to anything horror related...yet I dealt with monsters.
Ace chuckled and looked down at it, "Hmm, did you want to adventure in it now?"
My shoulders raise, "really?" That sounds so awesome...
My eyes went back into the room where the soft jazz was playing. The individuals inside were of various sizes and shapes. No one was over seven feet, though.
I think the parents are at the bonfire? It should be fine. I reasoned with myself. It'd only be for a little. I continued. I knew why I really wanted to get away.
"If that's okay with you," Ace said. He held his gloved hands up innocently. He awaited my answer.
Even though I felt anxious, I lifted my head and nodded in agreement.
...
It took us only a short time to end up in the middle of the too-perfectly-maintained maze. It looked like it was freshly cut today. The walls of the labyrinth went to about eight feet tall. There were also sprouts of flowers coming out at the bottom of the bushes.
I plopped onto the stone bench, holding the glass of wine he got me on our way out. Today seemed like the perfect occasion to celebrate with at least a glass.
"It would have been so cool to see you in the morning with us," Ace remarked. He walked toward the gazebo in the center, inspecting it. I didn't know if I felt like sitting under it with him, so I stayed on the bench near the way back into the maze.
"Did you guys do that training this morning that you talked about last night?" I questioned. How did that go? Everyone showed up to the wedding fine...right?
Ace grinned. He walked over and sat on the bench beside me, "we did. It was a big free for all." He jittered with a shiver. "I almost forgot how scary it is to be wrapped up by Koi."
"Wrapped up?"
"She's an arachne," Ace said. "And as curse magic as my specialty, I can only get so far with her." He turned his head to me, "That actually brings up a good question what do you specialize in?"
I shook my head, "Ha, come on, you don't want to get me started on that." Charletta told me to lie and say blast magic, and she told me the basics. I got ready to say it and stopped. What if he asks more questions? Before my mind ran rampant, I took a breath. He's a magus. I'm not in any danger.
"I do! I'd love to hear you talk about it" He sounded enthusiastic. "You're part of such an incredible family...I-you know..." Ace stumbled over his words, "I think it's amazing that I met such a lovely girl that, as Wicks said, could kick my ass." He shyly laughed after.
I took a deep breath. I could trust him. Wicks clearly did. He let us dance together. Ace was one of the only people Wicks didn't helicopter-parent me with.
I took a breath, "I-...I'm not a magus."
Ace started to laugh, "Very funny, Lynette."
"N-no." I didn't know why I couldn't say it. "I'm not a magus...I'm adopted."
He shook his head, "come on. I mean, you don't look 100% like them, but you could be Stefan's child with another-"
"I'm serious!" I exclaimed, I put my wine glass down on the ground next to the bench.
His usually prominent smile slowly dropped, and his eyes lost their vibrance. "Ah...I guess I was a little too hopeful." He soughed.
"Hopeful?" I didn't know where his excitement fled to.
He got up from the bench and brushed back the few loose strands of Cyan hair. "This is..." He turned to me.
His eyes trailed up and down my body. A twitch of one of his eyes and the slight curl of his lip told me everything.
He's disgusted.
"Now, this makes a lot more sense. You were reluctant to talk about any kind of magic." He lifted his shoulders, "it was hard to bring it up casually with you." He groaned, "Augh, this is awful."
I shook my head, "what are you talking about? What's awful? That I'm...human?" My chest hurt. What did I do wrong...?
He sighed, "You were my last hope. There are no other contenders in the Payton's family to court." He adjusted his suit, making sure to flatten it down. "I was interested in you because you were part of their family. I need a powerful bride for my bloodline." He rubbed his temples. "We have a strict prodigy tradition."
I weakly smiled, "sorry..."
His eyes glazed over. "I did all this when there was no point. That's infuriating. You shouldn't lead someone on like that."
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't..." I could only stare at his shoes.
He huffed and turned away. "You wasted my time."
I couldn't respond as he left me alone in the maze. Please tell me it's some kind of bad joke. I pleaded in my head. I thought he understood me. Actually liked my company for...no, of course not. I failed again.
He didn't give me another word.
I'm human...
My head sank deeper as I stared into my lap. I'm not even good at being human. I'm not close to anyone except my family and they have to stay with me out of obligation...
I felt my legs press closer together, I couldn't finish school, I barely helped with the wedding, I burdened the Paytons so much that I had to lie about what I was, I only burdened my family...
I lifted my hands to my arms, clutching them. I'm a failure at everything I do. I wanted to help people, but when have I ever helped anyone? What have I ever done? I can't even talk to people or keep any friends.
My tears soaked through my dress. I'm a burden on everyone. I know that. It's been like that since the day I was born.
I curled up bringing my feet onto the bench and leaned onto the concrete back.
I don't do anything for anyone. The Paytons just pity me, don't they?
My body tensed up as a figure moved out of the corner of my eye. I flicked my head in their direction. My blurry vision knew the shape well. It was Alexander. I couldn't quite read his face but he was huffing.
Oh...that's right...I am good for one thing, aren't I...
I tried to wipe away my tears and hide my face.
"What are you doing out here, Xander?"
I'm only good at being a meal for monsters, so go ahead, Alexander.
Eat me already.
...

"Aren't you excited? After this you're going to be a real predator like the rest of us!"
I look down at your trembling form, curled up in my palm. I'm not too sure where they found you, but I'm sorry that you were found at all. I never asked to be a part of this, but being born into a family of people-eaters isn't something anyone asks for. I have no interest in eating anyone alive, but traditions are traditions...and I worry that if I don't, someone else will definitely hurt you. The expectant, excited looks on everyone's faces are mirrored by my reluctant expression, and I study you again. I'll try to make this quick.
When I lift you up to my mouth, you don't make a sound. Even when my warm breath washes over you and you touch my tongue, you don't kick or cry out. Have you already accepted your fate as my food? I nearly choke on you when I swallow- you're so small, yet you're bigger than anything I've ever eaten. Cheers and applause ring out from my peers, but I can only focus on how strange it is to have something living sliding down my throat. It feels good, which makes a pang of guilt stir up within me. I was made for this, but I don't like it.
I can feel you slide into my stomach, still shaking out of fear. My peers congratulate me, but all of my attention is on you. I couldn't apologize then, but when I am left alone I will free you. Neither of us asked for this, and I can only hope you'll forgive me.

Broke: Endosoma is boring and can only be used for squeaky-clean storytelling and has no potential for angst lovers.
Woke: Endosoma is actually an incredible versatile concept and can most definitely be used to tell darker stories.
The concept of being trapped in some wet, slimy stomach for the rest of your life, losing any autonomy you ever had, is ripe with angst potential.
Or it can work the other way too, with a pred losing control and swallowing up their loved one, and when they come to they realize they’ll never be able to get the prey out.
They’ve got to exist like this now, with something living in their gut and screwing up their insides. Their relationship is anything but symbiotic.
ALSO!! Sweet wholesome endosoma is totally valid!!! Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. I like angst and hurt/comfort in vore, so these scenarios are just examples of how you could incorporate that.

Trying my hand at some writing! This is a very new world I have, called the Heartlands, featuring a human kingdom of the same name in a world of monsters. (In Hiding actually takes place nowhere near the kingdom, but far up north.) This is a character prologue for someone you'll see more of later! Details and designs might change down the line. Enjoy :)
CHARACTER PROLOGUE: ASYR // IN HIDING
Asyr wishes on a comet to meet a human.
3k words, unwilling pred and unwilling prey, dragon vore, a lot of anxiety, angst, some good times that are quickly ruined, soft, safe, nonfatal vore only, blood mention
I wish to be a human.
Atop the cliffside overlooking the endless crater below lies a man. More accurately, a creature that looks like a man rests with fingers dug into the grass and soil below. A curious object stays cupped within his other hand, a light glow emanating from within his fingers. Stars glitter overhead, and what looks like a passing meteor shoots across the moonlit sky before burning, invariably, to dust.
No, no, that’s asking too much…I, uh…wish just to talk to a human. Face-to-face. Before mom gets them, at least.
That happened all too often. A passing soul would venture into the cave systems below in search of glittering gems or relics of ancient civilizations, and they would never come out. If the traps didn’t get them, the dragons would.
My kin.
Asyr’s legs - currently dangling over the edge of the cliff - started swinging in place. It was the best way he could get that “tail waggle” energy out in this form without a tail. Pretending to be a human was just so fun! And dangerous. If Mom were to see-
His train of thought was interrupted as something felt very, very wrong. Anxious energy shot through his veins. What is it? Is something there? My hand- He opened his palm, perplexed, revealing the rock shard he had been holding. The glow had faded completely, leaving the stone with a dull blue hue. Wha…?
"Kid! Psst! Get away from the edge!"
Asyr scrambled. He nearly flung himself off the cliff, finding that these human fingernails were not nearly as good at hoisting himself up as his claws. But he managed to get himself away from the edge in a panic, his breathing erratic. A pale, human face watched him from behind a tree a good few yards away.
The human scrunched up his nose. “What are ya doing out here? If one of those creatures sees ya, you’ll…uh-” he stopped. He stepped out from the tree, revealing his full form: tall, medium build, with tangled brown hair and an unshaven face. He had a small pack on his back and a knife sheathed on his belt. In a swift motion, the man produced a crossbow from his pack and aimed it at Asyr.
“What…are ya?”
At this moment, Asyr was on his back, recovering from the scare. The human looked upside-down to him. He turned to be on his stomach, dirt mixing with his otherwise well-kept golden hair.
“Ah….Aghah…I’m…” The fledgling weighed his options. Dragons are methodical, nigh immortal creatures who can spend weeks, if not years pondering the best course of action for a certain event. Asyr didn’t have that kind of time, so he chose the option that he thought was less likely to get him killed.
This choice would eventually be proven wrong.
“I’m…I’m a human,” he wheezed. “Same as you!”
“Mmm, ya don’t look like any human I’ve ever seen. Black eyes ‘n all. And are those horns?” The crossbow was still trained on his face.
“Native! I’m….native. One of the, er, descendants… of the humans who lived here. Doubt you’ve ever seen one of us; we live…underground…?”
The human pondered. “So,” a gleam entered his eye, “yer saying ya know the area?”
Asyr shuddered. He knew where this was going. He could say no. But this was a real human! When would he have this chance again? “Like the back of my talo…-hands.”
“Cool.” The human lowered the crossbow and retrieved a small object from his pocket. He walked over to Asyr, who was still lying in the dirt. The man grabbed him by the collar and yanked him to a standing position.
“I’m Jay,” he beamed. “And,” he placed a coin of solid gold into Asyr’s trembling hand, “how about ya lead me down there?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His chest felt like bursting as they descended into the pit. Typically, Asyr would just fly down, but for obvious reasons, he had to take the perilous, spiraling ramp that ran around the edge of the hole. At many points, the pair came across entrances to tunnels unknown to the fledgling, which he would simply shoo off, saying their prize was further below. The journey was awkwardly silent - Asyr had spent years daydreaming about talking to a human, and now that the chance had come, no words came out. His throat felt remarkably dry.
Instead of talking, he looked at the items that had creased his hands from holding onto them so tightly: the gold coin from Jay, and the dull, sharp rock from earlier.
“Whas’ that.”
Once again, he almost jumped in his skin. “AAh, ah, it’s…a lucky charm, I guess? It’s a piece of a comet from long ago.” Maybe I can get some information from him. “What do you know about this area, Jay?”
“Mm. Full o’ treasure, it is. Now crawling with dragons. What happened before doesn’t interest me,” he chuckled.
A sad look overtook the fledgling’s face. “W-well, you might be interested in this: it’s said that a comet struck this land a long time ago, imbuing the area with magic. Even the humans who moved in here could wield it using tools and tomes.” His eyes sparkled. “They’re long gone now, but it’s said that if you can find one of the pieces of the comet and make a wish on it, it’ll come true.” He was too embarrassed to admit how many times he had sat atop that cliff, doing this very thing.
Jay looked at the shard in the boy’s hand. “So thas’ one of the magic comet pieces, is it?”
“Well…It’s useless to me now. I think the magic’s gone if there was any-”
“Yoink.” Jay snatched the piece too quickly for Asyr to react. “Magic rocks, eh? Thanks for the tip. Could make a fortune on suckers,” he snickered.
A sparkle grew in Asyr’s eyes, his imaginary tail threatening to wag. Maybe humans have hoards, just like me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally, the pair reached a familiar tunnel to Asyr. Home. Charred remains of some former creature lie at the entrance. Mom’s warning to intruders. Oh Gods, MOM. The weight of exactly what he was doing hit him like a boulder, and Asyr struggled to breathe, his body rebelling against him.
“Are -  Are you quite sure this is a good idea?” Asyr wheezed. “I know the dragon who lives here. She - it’s dangerous. Like, really dangerous. ‘No-one-has-made-it-out-alive’ dangerous.”
Jay stiffened. “Kid, ya gotta learn a bit about treasure hunting. Dangerous izza whole point. ‘Nothing in the world is worth doing ‘less it means effort and pain and difficulty’, ‘kay? S’what we chase to feel alive.”
He steadied himself on Jay’s words. Humans believe they can do anything. He thought about the night after night that he trembled at the idea of hunting, hiding from his mother. If only I had that confidence.
“C’mon kid, let’s get a move on - while the beastie still sleeps.” Jay pat Asyr on the back, and they headed in, the dark finally swallowing them whole.
These tunnels may have originally been built by humans, but the dragons expanded when they moved in. Now they were massive, easily 30 feet tall by 30 feet wide. The ambiance felt…lonely.
This should be easy. I know the way…don’t I? As the pair ventured further in, the fledgling couldn’t help but feel a rising panic setting in. These human eyes couldn’t see in the dark like he normally could, and Jake’s paltry torch only disoriented him further. The smells were all weird, and he felt so small. A few steps as a dragon could be a few dozen for a human. Rounding a corner, the two came across a corridor lined with stone tiles. Strange holes lie between many of the tiles.
Panic set in for Asyr. “I…I have no idea where we are. I’ve n-never seen this before.”
Jay once again patted the boy on the back. “Not to worry; ya’ve done well to lead us down here. This is a basic spike trap!” he grinned. “See the tiles that look more worn than the others? That's the path we should follow. I’ll show you.”
“Wha-wait!” Asyr whisper-yelled as the man skipped across the stones with ease. To his surprise, Jay wasn’t skewered.
“Yer turn, kid.”
I could turn into a dragon right now and fly across. Or I could leave and never look back. But…Asyr looked at Jay’s face, a smirk lining it. He believes in me. Just pretend I’m human. I’m human…And he leaped.
Asyr ran across the tiles with an unbalanced, awkward gait. Human bodies were quite hard to control, after all. Unfortunately, this started setting off spikes mere inches from his body, causing him to barely hold in a scream. In slow motion, Jay’s smile fully turned into a grimace, expecting his partner in crime to turn into a kebab. He was pleasantly surprised(and immediately annoyed) when Asyr bounded over the last tile and scampered straight into him, knocking the two of them over.
“GAH - KID,” the human exclaimed, ready to shove the anxious mess of a person off of him. He stopped when he felt tears plop onto his shirt. “...Ya okay, kid?”
“I-I’m alive,” the fledgling sniffled, a smile spread across his face. “Th-that was the scariest th-thing I’ve ever done. Second scariest,” he rasped.
Jay patted his head. “Here, les’ get up.” Asyr removed himself from the human, and the both of them stood back up, dust clinging to their outfits. “Not bad for your…presumably…first trap ever. (How in the world are you still alive down here) Ya know, how about…when we get the treasure, I give ya a share…like 10% for your help. And ya know that gold coin I gave ya?” Asyr nodded.
“Les’ go out after this. Get a nice meal together. Ya can use that to pay.”
Tears welled in his eyes, and Asyr hugged the roguish human. It was the first hug that the fledgling had ever experienced. Warmth flooded through the cold-blooded creature, turning his cheeks a rosy pink. My first friend.
Jay groaned. “‘Kay, kid, c’mon. We got through one trap.”
Asyr tentatively let go, laughing. Joy couldn’t help but overflow from his face. “And we’ll get through a dozen more!” They started their path forward. Jay rolled his eyes as Asyr continued, “With you, I think we can beat any-”
The net underneath them, currently hidden between the tiles, sprung upwards. In a split second, Jay and Asyr were dangling 30 feet above the ground.
“-traps.”
Jay’s demeanor began to change. “Ha, ah, um, didn’t see that one coming. L-luckily, I have a knife just for moments like this.” he unsheathed the knife from his waist and began to cut at the large net holding them in place.
Asyr felt panic rise in him for what felt like the hundredth time on this mission. But look, Jay knows what he’s doing. He’s a seasoned adventurer. It can’t get any worse.
And then, an alarm started blaring. A bell, ringing and ringing and ringing. The fledgling’s eyes went wide. He had only heard this bell a few times before when some poor soul had come for Mom’s hoard. She would always come back with blood around her mouth.
“J-JAY, can you get us o-ouT OF HERE-” Asyr said, terrified.
“It’s a huge fall! I-I’m not sure we’d even make it!” Jay stammered in response.
“PLEASE,” Asyr sobbed, reaching to wrestle the knife from his hands.
But it was too late for them to escape, even if they could survive the fall. A low growwwwllll echoed through the corridor, a huff of smoke accompanying it. Asyr tried to back up as far as he could, but the net made the situation impossible to get away from. He couldn’t even transform back into a dragon without potentially strangling himself in the net, or crushing Jay. He could only watch in terror as Ervyr, the Firebreather - his mother - leisurely crept into view.
Ervyr had a terrifying air about her. She’s one of the only Lung Dragons to still exist, and even rarer, one of the few of her kind to have been consumed by greed. She’s jet-black in appearance, with fangs larger than a human head. Her hoard is legendary and encompasses much of the Northern Crater. To try to pillage even a speck of gold from it is a monumentally foolish decision.
“Two humans,” she rumbled, “after my hoard.” She stepped on the spike trap, the spikes piercing upwards into her skin. It didn’t make a dent. “How would you like to die? Boiled? Charred?” Continuous smoke exited her nostrils. She reached out towards the net, easily slicing the top of it with a single claw, a paw underneath to catch her prey. Now, Jay and Asyr were “free”...in the hands of a dragon that wanted to kill them, of course.
“M-Mama,” Asyr croaked. There is no way to get out of this. There is no way to get out of this. We’re going to die.
“Oh look,” she puffed out a breath of smoke. “This one’s calling for their mama. Does the other one have anything to say?”
Jay was petrified. He looked like the wind had been completely knocked out of him. Still, he tried to respond. “‘S the kid. H-he brought me here; he knows about the hoard - G-gods above, kill ‘im, not m-me. I’ll tell me friends n-not to ever come ‘ere, ma’am.”
Ervyr grinned, picking up Asyr by the shirt and holding him above her mouth. Asyr squirmed, barely even registering Jay’s betrayal. “I loooooove humans. So deceptive. And so tasty, too. Looks like your time is up, kid~” she opened her jaws, her massive forked tongue lolling out.
“Mama!! Mama!! MAMA!!!” Asyr wailed, snapping out of the shock of the situation. In an instant, he was back in his dragon form, resembling a much smaller and less fearsome Ervyr. He squirmed out of his mother’s grasp, floating in place.
She blinked with all three of her inner eyelids, Jay still cupped in her hand. Silence filled the corridor. Asyr dared not move, speak, or touch her. She had never caught him in any other form before, and a pit of dread lay in his throat thinking about what she thought of him gallivanting around as a lowly human. She had taught him to believe dragons were superior to all others.
“Asyr.” she breathed, smoke exiting her nostrils. “What a great teachable moment you have thrust yourself into.” She uncupped Jay, who was currently stabbing at her paw with his knife. It did absolutely nothing. She grasped the knife between two claws before throwing it to the side. “You see, I will forget your little…transgression just now, under one condition.” Her claws sliced off Jay’s pack, and it unceremoniously fell on the floor.
“You eat this one.”
Asyr tensed, a shaky breath escaping him. “Mama, please-”
“YOU EAT THIS ONE,” she ROARED, the cavern walls shaking from the tremor. Smoke billowed from her mouth. The only other noise was Jay babbling to himself, praying to any god that might hear him.
“Yes, Mama.”
“First lesson: humans carry weapons. I took care of it for you. How loving am I,” she spat, flinging the human at Asyr. The fledgling wasn’t nearly as big as her, so the human smacked him in the maw, pain shooting through his face. He managed to catch the human by the shoulders, holding on as Jay squirmed.
“E-eat me and I’ll punch and kick and end ya, beastie,” Jay jabbered.
“Now,” she sat back, still floating in the air. “Go ahead. Your first human. How exciting.”
Asyr trembled. He couldn’t. He simply couldn’t. This was the first human he had ever talked to, his wish upon a comet shard. No matter how Jay acted, Asyr could not find it in himself to hate him more than he hated himself. I will not kill him. I REFUSE. And yet, that refusal would mean Jay would get eaten by his mom. There is no way to get out of this. There is no way to get out of this.
And yet…
He looked down at the sniveling human, just big enough to fully fit into his maw. I could eat him in one go, and then release him outside as soon as I could. Trepidation filled his body once more. He had never done anything like this before - would he choke? He didn’t exactly have a choice. I will keep you safe.
He tentatively opened his mouth, gingerly pushing the human inside. Jay squirmed further, kicking and screaming until his arm caught on one of Asyr’s fangs, slicing into him. Jay gasped and held his arm to his chest. The dragon winced. No! Don’t squirm! He wished he could tell him as blood slid down his gullet. He shivered, hating every gulp as he forced the human further and further within him.
“Euuuaugh.” Asyr exhaled, his last gllp audible as the human slipped into him. It was awful. Whatever enjoyment could be had in this process was overshadowed by the massive stress of this entire ordeal.
“Whole and alive?~” his mother laughed. “Perhaps you’ll be able to leave the nest earlier than I thought.” She turned away, looking back at the young dragon. “I’m off to find my dinner. You’ve given me quite the appetite.” With that, she turned a corner and disappeared.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vomiting out Jay was as uncomfortable an experience as eating him in the first place, Asyr found. And yet, he persisted, spitting Jay out on the same hill in which they first met. Once he was fully out of him, Asyr transformed back into his human form, wiping the saliva and stomach juices from his lips. In the distance, the sun was beginning to rise.
“Jay!! JAY!! I didn’t hurt you, did I? Oh gods, please don’t tell me my stomach hurt you. I can’t,” he sniffed, “I can’t bear any more heartbreak.”
Jay scrambled backward, protecting his arm and rising groggily, falling back onto the ground.
“Yer SICK. Yer a FREAK!” he yelled, furiously wiping slime off his face.
“I HAD to,” he quivered. “B..But look! We’re both safe now.” He reached into his pocket, producing the gold coin he was gifted before. “We can go…out…somewhere…” he trailed off as the human sprinted away from view. The fledgling’s lower lip quivered. Heat bloomed in his face.
No one likes a dragon.
No one likes….me.
(WARNING: angst (a person abused in the recent past), one strong word)
Please, don't hurt me. I don't wanna pain anymore. I'm cornered and exhausted. I beg of you - don't make me suffer, I didn't mean anything wrong! Please...
- I won't. I promise.
It is a flash of light reflecting from you teeth and then - nothing but humid darkness. It feels...oddly comforting. Soon I stop struggling and let you devour me, lulled by warmth and softness of your internals. Every long, powerful swallow sends me deeper into you, and I can't help but feel grateful for how gentle you're with me. I'm so fuckin' damaged that your attention to my needs seems unnatural to me - I think I would let an assassin to cut me open if they treated me as a person just for a little bit. Well, actually, that what I do...
I slide, and slide, and slide... And, finally - curl up into your noisy stomach. It groans so loudly, so impatiently that I feel guilty for making it wait for so long. I have been expecting it to squeeze me immediately to brake my bones and melt me down for your body to process. However...
- You're safe. No one and nothing will harm you here. Trust me.
I don't believe my ears. I hesitantly paw squishy wall around me, but there is no acid. The organ hugs me gently; your hand fondles me from the outside - your light touch reaches my back and draws soothing circles on me. I embrace my knees and cry again, but this time, these are tears of relief. Your stomach keeps bubbling and growling, though I'm not afraid. I know that you tell me the truth; I want to trust you so, so bad... And perhaps, it will destroy me again, but I will.
Thank you.
Cursed Cravings: A retold, g/t story of Beauty and the Beast, with a sinister twist.
When he declines to help a beggar woman, wealthy aristocrat Christopher Penn was cursed to adopt a giant form with a terrible, monstrous burden, and the conditions to break the curse seem all but impossible. When a peasant girl, Danny, agrees to take her friend's place as Christopher's captive, he realizes that she may be the last hope of regaining his humanity and breaking the spell for good.
But who could ever care for a monster like him?
This will be an AU of ITWOM involving some familiar characters like Christopher, Danny, Sam, and Nathan - but you don't have to have read the main story to read this one. Lots of things will be changed around, so for all intents and purposes, these aren't the characters you know.
This story will contain g/t, angst, and soft/safe vore later down the road. It's still going to be a lighter read than ITWOM, but be warned nonetheless! This isn't the Beauty and the Beast story you know from Disney.
Read Chapter 1 below:
Chapter 1: Dark Night of the Soul
Contains: ~2k words | Read this story on A03!
It was a night like many others, the night that Christopher Penn's life was changed forever.
A deluge had begun that evening, torrential rain bearing down upon the land with fierce strikes of lightning and thunder rattling the large windows of the mansion—but all this meant for Christopher and his guests was that they wouldn't be able to enjoy the garden out back, and their merriment was restricted to the large indoor space. The music still swelled and filled the air pleasantly, rising above the sounds of the storm outside and making it easy for the partygoers to forget how unpleasant it was outside the walls of Christopher's house.
The host in question flitted from person to person throughout the evening, engaging in the usual small talk and jokes, an easy and charming smile lighting up his face and those of the people he met with. He was a gracious and charismatic host, always making sure that his parties were the grandest, with his guests never wanting for anything. The people in attendance would speak highly of his events, of the balls and the dinner parties, that he was so keen to host.
On the surface, Christopher seemed rather at ease, full of a charm and grace that would be befitting of someone from a wealthy family. But his actions were all surface level—each word and step he took was carefully choreographed and planned in advance. He was terrified, truly—each person he brought into his home was a potential ally, a potential for advancing his status, but they were also a potential seed to his own destruction.
Christopher had spent every day since his parents had passed rebuilding his family's reputation among the nobility. He could see past their charm—they despised his parents, and in turn, they despised him. His own reputation—the very thing that allowed him to live in such comforts still, to have any amount of power and social standing at all—was fragile and tenuous, and every interaction he had, no matter how seemingly insignificant it was, was an attempt to maintain its strength.
And so, while he seemed completely comfortable in this element, there was a latent anxiety in Christopher, hidden well beneath the surface.
He almost didn’t hear the knock at the door at first, wrapped up as he was in conversation. But his manservant rushed to his side, rather insistently dragging him away.
“I’m sorry, Chris, she just won’t leave without speaking to you.” Sam’s stride was brisk, and they gave Christopher no choice but to follow. He offered a quick and profuse apology to the noblewoman he’d been entertaining before he caught up to Sam.
“You’re not able to send her away?” Christopher hissed, somewhat tersely. “I can’t be interrupted by every stranger that shows up here. I have guests to attend to.”
“Hey, I tried!” Sam insisted. “I’m just one guy, and I also have guests of yours to attend to. She keeps coming back. All she wants is a quick word with you. Just humor her, and she’ll be out of your hair.” Sam ran their fingers somewhat anxiously through their own well-groomed locks. “We can just deal with it quietly, before she causes a scene. Some of the guests near the front door are getting a little antsy about it.”
Christopher sighed wearily as he followed Sam to the main entrance. Perhaps if he had more staff, this wouldn’t be a problem. Most of the house’s staff had left in the fallout of his parents’ demise, with the sole exception being Sam—his personal servant who’d remained as doggedly loyal to him as they had the first day they’d been assigned to care for him. He’d never let on to his guests, but Christopher worked with Sam every day to keep the house in order, even helping cook the meals and clean. He had to keep up appearances as best he could.
Sam pulled the grand front door open to reveal a woman on the other side—a pauper in beggar’s clothes, tattered and rain-soaked, hunched on his front stoop as she gazed up at Christopher.
Christopher stood up straight and directed a cold, stern look towards the woman. He could feel several sets of eyes on him, and knew that there was a group of aristocrats watching the scene intently. He adjusted the cuffs of his sleeves idly as he spoke, as if he couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to the woman at all.
“I’m afraid you will have to leave. I have no room for beggars here.”
The woman shivered slightly, tilting her head up further to meet Christopher’s face. Her eyes were wide and glassy, her face lined with creases from age and stress. “P-please, kind sir, I only need to come in from the storm for a short while. I won’t be any trouble. I…I haven’t eaten in days-”
The people nearby began to whisper, a touch of disgust coloring their tone.
“This is an exclusive event,” Christopher interjected firmly. “There is a certain decorum that must be maintained. Please leave, or I will contact the authorities to escort you away.”
If he had been at home alone that evening, he might have afforded some manner of small comfort towards the woman. But he couldn’t be seen sullying his hands with the poor here.
A pleading, desperate look came to the woman’s face, her features falling into despair. “Sir, I will not survive the night!” Her voice was hoarse and rough, as if sandpaper scraped against the inside of her throat. “You would turn me away, to the mercy of the storm?”
Her cries had gotten louder—more of his guests had turned to look and whisper among themselves, casting uncertain and hesitant glances Christopher’s way. He didn’t need to hear them to know what they were all saying.
What kind of place is this, where the host entertains beggars?
He is no better than his parents, mingling with such filth.
He doesn’t belong here.
He is not one of us.
He set his jaw and made his stance firm, his dark eyes fixed sharply down at the beggar. He couldn’t let this go on further. “Leave. Your welfare is not my concern.”
The woman’s face became suddenly sharper, each crease and wrinkle fading to a more youthful visage, and her muddy, round eyes transformed to piercing, golden ones. She no longer hunched, but stood straight up, rising to a height that forced even Christopher to look up in awestruck terror.
“THEN YOU WILL HAVE BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS, CHRISTOPHER PENN.”
Her tattered clothes transformed to flowing white robes upon her dark skin, her hair now falling in neat and lovely braids down her back, adorned with gold.
She cast a scornful, acidic gaze towards Christopher as she looked down on him, each fiber of her being radiating with malice.
His heart stopped beating—the entire world seemed to have gone silent, save for the strikes of thunder that almost seemed to accentuate every word this woman spoke. Her voice boomed with an unnatural volume throughout the entire hall. He didn’t need to turn around to know that every single person in attendance had heard.
He did his best to hide the quaking in his limbs. He couldn’t lose his composure, even now. “Who are you?” he asked, his voice escaping as nothing but a whisper.
The woman scowled at him, her expression one of pure poison. He could feel himself withering beneath it, despite all his efforts to keep calm.
“You would not remember me, for the faces you entertain here are simply passing flights of fancy to you. I was your guest, Penn. And I saw past your charm. You use people for your own gain, grasping onto what little power you have like a pathetic child, desperate to rise above your place in the world.”
She pointed an accusing finger towards him. “You have a vile, black heart, so cruel that you would send a woman away to her death when she asks for but a little kindness.”
“Hey!” Sam spoke up, a little timidly beside Christopher. “You can’t talk about him like-”
“SILENCE.” A loud strike of thunder shook the entire house, rattling the foundation and carrying the woman’s voice to the ears of every patron once again. A blistering wind tore through the open door, making the curtains tremble in its wake.
Christopher thought that something seemed familiar about the woman—he felt as though he could recall a conversation with her, and she surely must have been at one of his parties. He searched for a name desperately, frantically wracking his brain for this woman’s identity.
“...Sybil?” he croaked, every ounce of confidence having long since left his body. His knees began to tremble, and he worried that they would soon give out completely. “Y-you may come in, I am so very sorry to have offended-”
“You have already failed, Penn. Now you repent, for you see my true form, and the power I wield.” Her eyes narrowed dangerously. “Your fate has already been sealed.”
The world was swallowed in darkness within only the span of a moment, and the screams of Christopher’s guests and Sam became drowned out by an all-encompassing blackness that surrounded him, choking the air from his lungs, squeezing his ribcage until he thought he would burst from the pressure. He could not speak, he could not move, he could not see. If not for the excruciating pain shooting through every fiber of his being, he would have thought he was dead.
“You will no longer hide behind your tawdry facade. A monster within, so a monster you shall become.”
Sybil’s voice came from all around him, like a harsh winter wind that froze the blood in his veins as it passed over him. Her words had weight to them, laden with something powerful, and far beyond this world’s understanding.
His body was changing, but in what manner, he had no way to tell. All he could feel was pain—pain and a clawing hunger, like an animal inside of his stomach ripping and tearing at the flesh within, desperate to break out. His head throbbed as sounds swirled in his mind, indistinguishable from each other as they rose into a crescendo of noise, and the silence turned to a deafening cacophony. Voices, screams, shouting, but no words he could make out. He thought that he could hear Sam, amidst all the chaos, but he couldn’t be sure.
And then, before the darkness of his vision cleared to reveal the full extent of the horror that awaited him, he was assaulted by the wave of a strong smell he couldn’t place, a scent that filled his lungs and made the desperate animal within his gut writhe and twist in agony. It was like the scent of the finest wine, the most tantalizing food in existence, in such a great amount that it was overwhelming—even though, in those few moments of blissful ignorance, he had no idea what it was that delighted his senses so, that made the pain almost forgotten, that made every bone of his ache with an almost feral hunger.
His eyes opened with frantic urgency, and the scene before him unfolded slowly into a horrifyingly clear depiction of the gruesome fate that had been thrust upon him. He could barely see the faces of the ones he’d invited here, but their frightened screams spoke loudly enough. No words came to his own mouth—he was frozen in horror, like an insect trapped in amber as the weight of what happened sunk in, pressing down upon him like a suffocating, terrible gravity.
Despite his transformation, Sybil’s words rang as clear in his head as they had before.
“Ten years, Penn. Ten years to prove yourself, or this form will be your prison.”
CW: Vore
A pred. This pred is a little on the animalistic side: maybe they once lived in the wild before being brought into civilisation. Regardless of where they came from, they do their best to act composed around their favourite prey. They love this prey with all their heart, and would stop at nothing to protect them: despite their appearance, the prey knows they’re much softer inside.
The pred’s devotion is put to the test, however, when some beast or assailant comes out of nowhere, their sights set on the prey. Immediately the pred goes on the defensive, swallowing up the prey to put a barrier around them - but the prey is taken aback by how urgently, how viscerally they’re being tucked away…
The pred gobbles their friend like a starving hyena, snapping and gulping, choking them down as the throat muscles squish around them, but with a tightness that feels so alien. Even more unnerving for the prey is how the pred’s belly sways violently to either side as they unload 200 pounds of raw, possessive rage onto the attacker. The prey, tossed upside down and drowning in adrenaline-fueled noise, has no idea if their beloved friend is winning - but it soon becomes apparent that a new course of action is necessary.
The prey is ejected with a horrible retch, landing on the ground in a heap. They slowly get to their senses, just in time to see the last of their crippled assailant disappear into the pred’s maw. Their gut starts making sounds the prey’s never heard, as the pred looks back to them, their eyes glazed over with fury. “I-it’s okay… they’re - urp - not going to hurt you anymore,” they say, but the prey can only stare. They’ve discovered a new side to their familiar pred - one they won’t easily forget.
