So In Walt Disneys letters to Dodi Smith he claims authors werent thrilled with his adaptations of their books.....But I cant find any qoutes or thoughts of authors onDisneys adaptations before Dodie Smith .I looked up Felix Salten (Bambi),Fred Gipson (Old Yeller ) and Johnston McCulley (Zorro) among others to see what their thoughts on the adaptations were and I found very little.I found that Salten that regretted his story being adapted by Disney(Due to the story being now percieved as a childrens tale ) but the thoughts on the film itself are unknown .With McCulley I have seen some publicity pictures he took with Guy Williams, but I cant find any thoughts on that adaptation or any of the numerous ones based on his work
