#BEGONE!!! *wizard beam blast leaving a black smoking crater in the middle of the tumblr dashboard*#I think another downside to everyone doing everything on phone apps on shitty tiny screens nowadays is the inability to really see details #of an image and thus its easier to share BLATANTLY fake things like.. even 'good' ai art has pretty obvious tells at this point #but especially MOST of it is not even 'good' and will have details that are clearly off or lines that dont make sense/uneven (like the imag #of a house interior and in the corner there's a cabinet and it has handles as if it has doors that open but there #are no actual doors visible. or both handles are slightly different shapes. So much stuff that looks 'normal' at first glance #but then you can clearly tell it's just added details with no intention or thought behind it. a pattern that starts and then just abruptly #doesn't go anywhere. etc. etc. )#the same thing with how YEARS ago when I followed more fashion type blogs on tumblr and 'colored hair' was a cool ''''New Thing''' instead #of being the norm now basically. and people would share photos of like ombre hair designs and stuff that were CLEARLY photoshop like #you could LITERally see the coloring outside of the lines. blurs of color that extend past the hair line to the rest of the image #or etc. But people would just share them regardless and comment like 'omg i wish I could do this to my hair!' or 'hair goallzzzz!! i #wonder what salon they went to !!' which would make me want to scream and correct them everytime ( i did not lol)#hhhhhhggh... literally view the image on anything close to a full sized screen and You Will SEe #I don't know why it's such a pet peeve of mine. got an ad for a course that looks right up my alley (like, too-good-to-be-true levels of up my alley) and toyed with the idea of possibly signing up. asked my mom what she thinks, including abt the price and such, fully expecting her to shut me down and say it's too expensive or isn't a good direction to take, but no even before i started listing the actual cool stuff you get from it she already got so excited and told me to sign up and that it sounds perfect for me and such. so i guess we'll see

#and now when i open facebook it's the only ad I'm getting lol which is fine ig.#i looked up reviews of this school and everything was 5 stars talking about what a great place it is and a great guy is the one running it #i have the perfect background and base talents for it so i doubt i won't be able to get in or smth #but i am. worried. bc ik i can't handle being out and with people i don't know. my anxiety is too bad #and just bc i was able to do this sort of thing in the past doesn't mean I'll be able to now when I'm way worse abt it 😐#also from a technical standpoint i don't think I'd be able to like. walk from the nearest bus station and such #(not that I'd be able to take the bus either but you get me. putting the anxiety aside. talking physical stuff here)#ajskglj ig i expected my mom to say no bc i was HOPING she would so I'd have an excuse #but now the only thing standing in my way is me ig. nothing new but still very annoying

#it feels very weird to be back in my dorm for the summer #last summer was so bad. I was so lonely the whole time it almost killed me #and Im feeling that start to creep up on me again even though I hung out with a friend for hours yesterday #and im talking with online friends basically all day #but idk. I have no idea why anyone would want to use Facebook regularly. Every time I go on Facebook to try to see what’s going on with people I know irl, 90% of the posts are ads or suggested posts by pages I don’t follow and the posts from actual people I do see are from like the same four “friends” that I don’t actually care about with the occasional actual life update from people I know and the only way to change my feed is to prioritize certain people but I don’t have particular people I want to keep up to date with, I’m just curious about what’s going on with everyone

#It’s the only social media that involves people I actually know #and it is the absolute worst social media for keeping up to date with people that you actually know #very different from the website I joined in 2008 #like It’s completely unnavigatable i don’t understand it’s appeal #twitter is kinda like this but it shows me way more of people that I follow than Facebook #and at least the stuff it suggests is stuff that interests me #since I mainly use Twitter for following politics and celebrity tea #i know we all know Facebook sucks and I’m not surprised it’s just really annoying #and i don’t understand why anyone would choose to use this regularly

i’ve complained about it before and the way it’s going, i’ll probably do it again. but i don’t like being recorded in my own home!! like yeah i’ll assert that every time no pause but i will complain about it because tell me why i have to do it soooo often

#I don’t want shorts on YouTube I’m on YouTube for YouTube not for TikToks #I’m not on tiktok for ten minute videos and I’m not on Facebook because I want Instagram and I’m not on tumblr because I’m on Twitter #*I mean not on tumblr cause I want Twitter #every social media wants to be every other social media and it makes all of them worse #no one is going on a social media because they want the experience of a different social media #if I wanted shorts I’d go on tiktok I’m on YouTube for real longer form videos #capitalism is the pusher of innovation if innovation is making every app and company and everything the same in the worst ways is innovation #I know there are worse things happening than the same-ification of social media but it feels like a symptom of larger issues #a symptom that is both noticeable and shitty in annoying ways
