Hiiii!
I saw your post about requesting for Joost, and idk if this is good but I'll try my best!(first time requesting something btw)
So, we all looooove some good jealousy prompts right?(or am I just weird?)
I saw some about reader being jealous and blah blah blah but how about a jealous Joost?
He isn't the type to be easily jealous he really isn't! He trusts you with his life! But... what if HE isn't enough?
He's on tour, away from you for months. He hates it but he loves it at the same time, on one side: his work is being seen, he's getting money, he's visiting other countries. But on other side... you're away from each other and it kills him.
So, one night, he just got back from a show, he showered on the hotel bathroom, he's drying his hair with a towel while he sees random stuff on insta, he sits on the fresh hotel bed when he sees one new story from you.
You're smiling and there's a friend of yours, smiling too, with a caption:"thanks for the amazing night (friend nickname) you're the best! ❤️"
And the two of you are at you favorite restaurant.
You did mentioned to joost that you were feeling lonely without him, that work was killing you and you wanted to go out... he is happy for you, of course, but... he just wishes it was HIM next to you on the photo, it was HIM that took you out. HIM that you were sending heart emojis to.
(Maybe reader and joost are dating or maybe you could do a friends to lovers on this one)
So, as soon as he's back, he's knocking on your apartment door.
He doesn't even waits, as soon as you open the door, he hugs you, he's all over you.
"Joost?! You're back already?? Oh I missed you too!"
You hug him back.
Joost lives this. This peace. This warmth. This love, his heart bursting with adoration, he wants to prove to you that he's the best, that no friend could ever replace him!
Sorry if this is not good! Anyway, thanks for even reading this!
a/n: omg thank you so much for this prompt anon! i looove a good detailed prompt, i think i stuck mainly to your request, i really only changed some dialogue to fit the story! side note... i had a lot of trouble formatting this for some reason, so hopefully this posts ok. tumbr is giving me grief lmao
Irreplaceable | Joost Klein
Tumblr media
content: gn! reader, Joost wins Eurovision (as he should), drinking, a singular dirty joke, allusion to smut if you squint, and hickies. alternating POVS, some dutch, mostly pet names (schat, lieverd, liefje), and small phrases (ik hou van jou= i love you, het spijt me= i'm sorry)
word count: 3,630
Tumblr media
Your fingers sweep across the glowing keyboard of your phone. The intense bright white of the display in contrast with the dark of the restaurant that surrounds you makes you lower your eyes into a squint, the letters blurring before you.
Much needed night with my girl <3
You reposition the text to fit with the picture, a half-tipsy selfie you had taken just moments prior with your best friend, Anna. Your finger hovers over the "your story" button on the bottom left corner of your screen. You do one last scan of the photo, looking at the wide grins of you and your friend, you couldn't remember the last time you had seen yourself so happy.
You tap the button, deciding the photo is worthy to be seen by your whopping 400 Instagram followers.
"Did I look hot in that?" Anna's voice pulls you away from your phone, you place it face down against the white tablecloth in front of you. She's raising an eyebrow at you as her red lipstick coated lips curl into a smirk. She swirls a nearly empty glass of red wine in her hand.
"Of course," You grin, "When do you not?"
"Good point." She winks before raising the glass to her lips, finishing what was left in a single swig.
You'd been more than grateful for Anna taking you out tonight. Truth be told, the last few weeks had been bleak. They consisted mostly of you sitting at your kitchen counter, hunched over your computer doing work. Who knew working from home could be so stressful. You'd been completely swamped ever since a co-worker who had shared your position switched companies. Now you were stuck doing double the work for the same pay.
But maybe even worse than the stress of work was the loneliness of it. Taking a remote job had seemed ideal when you accepted the position, however, now you realized it was just like working any other office job without any of the human connection or interaction.
Your life hadn't always been this lonely, but you guessed that was the price you paid for living the city life, coupled with dating a musician.
Joost had been doing music since you met him a year and a half ago, and in that short amount of time, you never would have expected how huge he would have gotten. A summer hit in Germany and a fucking Eurovision win catapulted him into success.
Of course, you were more than proud of him, in fact, words couldn't even describe how happy you were for him. He deserved each and every fan, and each and every stream.
But being a musician meant being busy, and in particular, being on tour for weeks to months at a time.
Truth be told, during these last five weeks, Joost was on tour you had been living vicariously through videos posted online of his performances, desperately wishing you were in the crowd getting to watch him do what he loved every night. You would scroll intently in the isolating darkness of your apartment, at this point you had to have seen every angle of every single performance he'd done on tour thus far. It at least helped you feel a little less alone, watching how he smiled on stage, adoring the crowd, similar to the ways he had adored you.
You'd barely left the house since Joost had started touring, but you owed everything to Anna for forcing you out tonight. You were actually enjoying yourself.
A shadow looms over you, forcing you out of your thoughts. Your head whips to the side, and your waiter is standing over you
"Whenever you're ready." He places the black leather book in the middle of the table and nods as his lips press into a tight smile before walking away.
"Dinner's on me," Anna smiles slyly, her hand darting out and swiping the check from where it lay on the table. You can't say you're shocked by her offer, she had always been generous, but your heart is warmed by her kindness.
"Oh you don't have t-"
"Yes I do," She cuts you off. "This is your night out. Remember?"
"Thank you," You grin.
"Don't mention it," she opens the book, glancing down at the check, "Oh," She looks up at you, "Zoë asked if we want to meet her, Noor, and Hanna for drinks after this. They're at that bar a few blocks away. And seeing as I drank most of this bottle of wine, I reckon you need a few more drinks in you"
Your head bobs up and down, nodding, "More drinks sounds just about perfect right now."
Moments later the waiter is coming by again, taking the check off the table.
You look down at your phone on the table, flipping it over. The screen shines bright, revealing two notifications.
Joostklein liked your story
Joostklein replied to your story: have fun, liefje <3
A smile creeps onto your face and your chest swells with a warmth that both comforts you and stings at the same time. What you would give to have him here right now. Your thumb grazes over the screen, tapping the message to respond.
"C'mon y/n" Your head flings up at the sound of Anna's voice, "I got my card back, we should get going."
You nod, standing up from your seat, slipping your still open phone into the pocket of your jacket.
Tumblr media
Joost lay on the stiff linens of a hotel bed. The lingering scent of his shampoo filled his nose as he took a deep breath, turning over his phone to check his notifications once again. Nothing.
It had been three hours and fifteen minutes since he noticed that you saw his response to your Instagram story, three hours and fifteen minutes since you saw his response and didn't respond.
He flips his phone back down, turning to his side, the pillow is damp against his face from his freshly washed hair. He closed his eyes and thought about that picture of you, how you smiled so wide, the way your eyes twinkled. He couldn't help but smile as he thought about it, it was almost like a reflex to him. Seeing you in such a state brought him an unexplainable warmth.
However, a part of him felt weird, a strange sense of yearning as he thought about the photo, Anna so close to you, the way you thanked her, complete with a heart. Part of him hoped that that was him taking you out to eat, him getting you to smile like that. But it wasn't, and it hadn't been him in a long time, and it wouldn't be, not for a while.
Of course, the two of you shared heartfelt messages with each other every day, and phone calls whenever you could. But it wasn't the same. It wasn't the same as being right there with you in person. It was hard for him, and he knew it was hard for you too.
In an instant, he's thinking about the last phone call you shared, just yesterday, the way you'd broken down in tears to him, about your workload, about how isolated you'd been feeling. He tried to keep composed, but he knew that he was part of the reason you were crying, though you never outright blamed him. All he could do was gently coo to you on the other end of the phone, softly pleading with you to not cry, that you would be alright. Truth be told he wanted to curl up and die in that moment. He'd never forget the sound of your wavering voice, the way it cracked just before a desperate sob clawed its way out of your throat, "I just miss you so much."
Part of him wondered if you would ever get sick of this if one day you would wake up and realize you didn't want a boyfriend who was gone all the time.
He had no problem with you spending a night out with your friends, in fact, he was ecstatic that you seemed to be having a good time, it was the fact that he wasn't able to share that good time with you that led to the sinking feeling in his chest that he felt now. You having left him on seen had only added insult to injury. If he really thought about it, he'd much rather feel this jealousy than have you cooped up in your empty apartment all night.
He shook his head, rolling onto his side, damning himself for feeling so selfish right now.
He turned his phone over once more, and the time flashed in front of him, 1:47 AM. Fuck. It was later than he thought. His jealousy was completely replaced by worry, and his stomach flipped. Surely it was far too late for you to still be at dinner, you'd told him you'd text him when you got home.
Anxiety set in as he began to weigh his options, either he could call you and potentially disturb your night out, or not call you, leaving you unbothered, but leaving him worried about where you were. After all, what if something happened, he'd never forgive himself for not calling.
He unlocked his phone, scrolling his recent calls so he could call you. He swore he could hear his heart beating as the phone rang, once, twice, three, four times-
"Hmm hi mmbaby." Your words are sloppy on the other end, and for a moment Joost worries that he may have woken you up, until he clocks the combination of the stifled thumping of music, and screeches of laughter.
"Hoi schat, where are you?" His eyebrows furrow
"I am..." You trail off, "I am at a bar, like, i think. I think two blocks from the restaurant- wherever I was." You sigh.
"Are you drunk, lieverd, who's there?" Joost cringes at his words, silently cursing himself for his interrogative tone.
"Ummm... Maybe a little, or a lot" You giggle, "And um- Anna, duh, and... Hanna..." You pause to laugh for a moment, "Anna and Hanna," You repeat, obviously fascinated with the rhyme, "And Zoë and Noor."
"Okay," Joost sinks into the bed, relief washes over him when he recognizes the names of who you're with. "I don't want to bother, I just wanted to make sure you're okay." He's timid, it's unlike him to be so quiet, his words softly tip-toeing around his true feelings, feelings of how bad he wishes it could be him you were out with right now.
"Okay?" You repeat with more emphasis, "Not ok...I am great!"
"That's good to hear." He hopes his jealousy doesn't peak through his short words, it feels terrible, his stomach has tied itself up in knots and the guilt he feels for feeling this way strangles him.
He thought about the nights the two of you would go out drinking together, the way your eyes would light up when a song you liked played, you'd grip his hand tight, forcing him out up so he could dance with you. He'd always end up more drunk off his love for you than he did from the alcohol, no matter how much he drank. By the end of the night, like clockwork, the bartender would be shouting that it was last call, and Joost would stand at the bar, taking the remaining sips of his final drink. Your head would rest against his arm, eyes barely open. You'd complain your feet hurt from all the dancing you'd been doing, your voice thick with intoxication and exhaustion. As the two of you headed out, he'd let you climb on his back so he could carry you to wherever the pair of you were going. He'd love nothing more than to feel that now, to feel the comforting weight of your body against his back, to feel your arms wrapped around his neck, your head nuzzled against him, the warmth of your breath tickling the skin of his neck.
"I'm so happy," You state, and Joost can almost hear your smile through the phone. "M'so happy. Love my friends."
"Sounds like they're taking good care of you,"
"Yes, such such good care of me, don't you worry - they will have me back home in one piece."
"Goed, will you be home soon?"
"Mmmprobably, my feet huuuurt." You whine, causing Joost to let out a small chuckle, like clockwork, "Nngh- If only I had a tall, handsome, strong, dutch man, preferably one who is blonde and has a mustache and is also named Joost Klein to carry me home." You sigh loud and dramatically.
Your words sting, Joost knows you don't mean them to, but he can't help but feel a twinge in his chest at how badly he wishes he were the one taking you home.
"I'll carry you wherever you want when I get home, to make up for my absence, you won't have to walk a single step ever again."
Joost's face lights up hearing you giggle on the other end, but suddenly your laughter dies down, and you sigh once more,
"I think- I should go,"
"That's alright, get home safe, ik hou van jou"
"I love you t-,"
"Eyy," Joost cuts you off, "In Dutch."
"Ik hou ook van jou."
Tumblr media
Joost <3: Flight was cancelled, I don't know when I'll be able to get on another, het spijt me, I was really looking forward to seeing you tonight.
It had been a whole eight weeks that Joost had been gone, and as you stared down at the text you just received, it felt like if you had were to spend one more second apart from him you might just explode.
Sure a cancelled flight may only delay you seeing your boyfriend for a few hours, maybe a day at most, you could still feel the tears welling up in your eyes. It already felt so late, you didn't want to wait anymore. You tilt your head back, blinking rapidly to fight the small droplets pooling in your waterline.
Your phone chimes again.
Joost <3: I'll see you soon, I promise, Oké?
You're barely able to read the message through your wet eyes before there's a knock at your door. You sniffle, and quickly dry your tears, confused at who would be knocking on your door at this time. You slowly rise up from your bed, walking with trepidation towards the door.
You press your chest up against the door, closing one eye tight to look through the peephole. As your gaze adjusts, you feel your heart slip down to you the stomach it couldn't be.
Quick, trembling fingers are racing to unlock the locks of your apartment door before flinging it open. It was.
There Joost was, standing before you. A grin plastered onto his face, he'd been holding something in each hand, a bouquet of flowers in one, a bottle of wine in the other, but still his arms were stretched out, inviting you in for a hug.
Before you can even think of a word to speak you're running into his arms, wrapping your own arms around his torso. The familiar warmth of his body heat fills your body.
He must be able to hear the sound of your heart from how loud its beating, or at the very least, feel its rapid pulses against his chest. You nuzzle your face against him, taking in the gentle scent of his cologne. It's so familiar, and inviting, and you feel nothing but overwhelming love as you let Joost overwhelm your senses.
"You don't know how much I've missed you." His kisses pause for a moment as he mumbles against your hair.
"I've missed you too," You strengthen your grip around his waist, "So much."
"Let me put this stuff down so I can give you a real hug, ok?"
You don't want to let go, not even for a moment, you'd spent far too long without him, and you feared if you let him go, even just for a second, he would disappear again. Reluctantly, you let your arms fall from his torso, sighing at the lack of warmth you feel as your body separates from his. He steps around you, leaning over to kiss your cheek as he passes you, "Stay here,"
"Huh?" You question, about to step forward to follow him into your apartment.
"No, no no- stay there." Joost quickly whips his head back around, moving towards the kitchen counter to place the wine and the flowers. He looks up and smiles before heading towards you.
His arms wrap around your lower back, beckoning for you to jump a little so you can put your legs around his hips and he can carry you. Once Joost had you steadily in his arms, he walked forward, letting go with one arm to quickly shut the door behind the two of you before placing it back around you once more.
"I told you, you wouldn't have to walk when I get back,"
"Hmm, won't have to or won't be able to?" You smirk as you push your body against his, laying your head on Joost's shoulder, he shakes his head, clicking his tongue.
"Such a dirty mind." He chastises
You place soft, passionate kisses against Joost's neck, slowly trailing up to his jaw, before eventually planting a kiss on his lips. He wastes no time in kissing you back, his lips hungrily going after your own. Your hands find your way into his hair, your nails softly scratching at his head as gently pull at the blonde strands.
Joost breaks the kiss so he can turn around, placing you on the kitchen counter. He stands in front of you, in between your legs, you wrap them around him in an effort to bring him closer to you. Your head flips to the side,
"Are these for me?" you pull at one of the flower petals with your thumb and pointer finger, feeling its soft velvety texture.
"Of course, and the wine. Well, I guess that's for us. I'll order us some takeaway, I know it's not as going out- but I promise I'll take you out tomorrow, I'll make up for every second I was gone," Joost's fingers gently grip your jaw, pulling you to face him. Your eyes meet his, deep and blue, filled with a light you missed all too well, "I'm sorry, liefje, for making you so lonely."
"You know that's not your fault." You tilt your head, pouting at his consolation. His words cut, how could he blame himself?
"It's okay if you say it is," His hand trails up your face, resting his palm against your jaw, his thumb rubbing soft circles into your cheek, "You can tell me."
You stare at him with wide eyes, your brain searching for the right words to properly convince him that he has done nothing wrong.
"No," You manage to whisper, "You don't know how happy it makes me to know you're performing every night, to know you're doing what you love."
"But if I wasn't gone all the t-"
"I wouldn't trade this situation for the world." You cut him off, staring at him intensely, hoping to communicate how deeply you mean your words.
"Okay," Joost concedes, his voice quiet, he was never one to fight you on things, "But one day, when I make enough money, I'll take care of you," He cranes his neck, planting a kiss against the opposite cheek of where his hand rests. The stubble of his facial hair is scratchy against your skin, in an oddly comforting way, it's familiar, and it reminds you of your close proximity. You sigh, drinking in the intimacy of the moment as his lips lower to your neck. He pulls away briefly, "You won't have to work another second and I'll take you everywhere with me."
A soft smile pulls at the corners of your mouth, and you cannot help the heat that floods your body as you picture your future together. It's a comforting picture, and it makes all the waiting, all the lonely nights worth it.
Your hand reaches out, tugging at the thick fabric of his sweatshirt, attempting to pull him even closer to you, like you wanted your bodies to intertwine, to fuse and become one so you'd never have to be without him again.
"I can't wait," Your words are short, your breath getting caught in your throat as Joost nips at your neck. His lips are soft, soothing the tingling pinch of his teeth against your skin.
His breath is hot, and each kiss is filled with an ardent longing. Warmth spreads through your stomach as his hand slips to the back of your neck, his fingers thread through the strands of your hair, before tugging gently, careful not to hurt you. But it is enough to make your breathing shaky and you wonder if you're even going to get to break open that bottle of wine anytime soon.
You hope he leaves a mark against your neck, you hoped he'd leave many. If you were in any space to talk, you'd speak up and tell him as much, begging for a pretty purple and red reminder of where he'd been.
As much as you ached for it, you didn't really need a mark to remind you of his love for you. You knew every word he spoke was true, how he'd make up for every second he spent without you, how as soon as he had the means to he'd provide fully for you. It was obvious, his love was warm, it was soft, it was something completely irreplaceable.

I was just thinking about the whole Debling vs Colin thing and I kinda wanted to point this out.
Debling and Colin are actually both perfect for Penelope but different sides to her.
Debling is Lady Whistledown's perfect match while Colin is Penelope's perfect match.
Debling has work he leaves for years to do, passions that take up more of his heart than any living human would. He left behind his own family who he says never understood him but that's all we know. He wants a wife to take care of the estate and the home front. He doesn't read Whistledown, meaning he won't ever see any similarities between Penelope's writing and Lady Whistledown's. If Penelope was truly Lady Whistledown all the time like the switch was flipped and never turned off, then this is a perfect life for her. On her own, left alone, and can run her business without interference. If she wants, she can fudge the numbers a little bit to hide some of her own money away in the estate. She'll have children one day that she'll love. She will be secured. She will also continue the status quo of her life before of being alone in her own home, and I would make the argument becoming more like Portia as time would go on. Now, don't get me wrong. Debling is a good man, but he is also Lord Featherington in a different font. Penelope already knows what life with Lord Debling would look like she's seen it in her parents' marriage, in her father. Lord Featherington put his own passions before his family as well, and while he never physically left, that man completely dissociated around his family. Again this type of life would be perfect for Lady Whistledown but Penelope rightfully so hesitates.
Colin, on the other hand, while he has his own passions, will still put someone he loves first. He's willing to be there to support them if they need it. He has a close bond with his family and wants to open that bond to any potential spouse that may be folded in. Once he knows his feelings, he's not afraid to show them. He's affectionate and sensitive to others. He also I noticed forgives rather quickly meaning he has the ability to see from someone else's perspective. This is someone Penelope has dreamed of for years, and frankly kind of needs. She's been emotionally starved of affection and never has seen or heard acts of love outside the few she's had from the Bridgertons. She was raised on tough love and never really shown softness before. Colin can give her that softness, that love, and happiness. But Colin is also a horrible match for Lady Whistledown. He is always in Penelope's business and space, and if not him, another member of his family would be. All in good faith, they watch out for one another, but it would make Penelope's absence a lot more noticeable. Penelope will also be shoved in the spotlight as well marrying in and while she has craved the potential change it makes her work much harder. His disdain for Whistledown as well has been well spoken to others. He also potentially has the clues to piece together Penelope's identity. He has her letters and Lasy Whistledown is not hard to get either. If Penelope accidentally made any mistakes in either writings, like similar phrasing or she reused something from his letters in Whistledown he could clue it together. He will most likely be angry at first but I also think given time to cool off he be willing to hear her out. He's already shown he's not afraid to fight for her so what's one more round?
And the funny thing is Colin has the potential to be Lady Whistledown's match as well. He's a good writer and has been shown to engage in gossip, too. He moves fluidly around the ton, charming them and easily communicating with them. His strengths compliment can help boost where Penelope has a weakness. They can very easily become true partners, Lord and Lady Whistledown. We first just have to get Colin to warm up to the idea.

I'd like to believe - Lewis Hamilton
Tumblr media
Alternative sequel to Maybe in another life / When I get to meet you
pairing: Lewis Hamilton x Reader!
warnings: mentions of mourning, angst, will make you emotional
wordcount: +1K
a/n: Alternative-ish ending (this was actually my first draft to continue their story, so the happy-ish one is the alternative, sort of).
As always, I'm open for feedback, come say hi!
MILD TRIGGERING CONTENT UNDER, PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
______________________________________________________________
My dearest little one,
Today marks ten years since you should have been here, celebrating another year of life. Ten times the snow has fallen, making everything quiet outside.
They say time heals all cuts, but some cuts go real deep, leaving scars that never quite go away. And I still find it hard to believe that a whole decade has passed.
You'd be so grown now, so full of life and curiosity, brimming with questions and dreams. I often wonder what you'd be like – would you have my stubbornness and determination, or your mother's grace and patience?
Maybe a beautiful blend of both, creating someone truly unique.
I’m going to visit your stone again later today. Leave this letter like every year. I suspect there’ll be fresh flowers, as always, probably from your mother.
She never forgets.
We never reconnected, not like I'd hoped for. But I think about her often.
I searched everywhere for her. I just really needed someone to share the pain with, someone to hold onto while everything fell apart. We tried talking, spilling out all our feelings, but the words wouldn't come out right. Maybe we were afraid of saying the wrong thing or making things worse.
Maybe we were both thinking the same thing – maybe if we'd done things differently, maybe you'd still be here.
After a while, the space between us just kept getting bigger, too big to cross. You see, your mom, she found a way to move on. She built a life for herself, a life where the pain was still there, but it didn't control her anymore.
I hope she's found peace and happiness, something she deserved more than anyone. She was an incredible woman, and I wish I had been the man she needed me to be.
I hope she reads these letters someday, that she understands how much I loved you both, how much I regret not being there when you needed me most.
Maybe one day, when the weight of these years starts to feel a little lighter, I can finally forgive myself.
Maybe then, I can find the strength to reach out to her, not to get back together, but to find some peace, a simple way to say thank you for the love we shared and sorry for the loss that tore us apart.
You know, life has changed quite a bit since I last wrote to you.
I'm with someone, have been for the past four years. She's patient, kind and knows about you. I don't think we'll ever have children though. She's got her own ghosts.
I retired from racing. Shortly after I won my eighth championship with Ferrari. It was a dream come true, but also bittersweet because I couldn't share it with you. I work as a consultant for the team now, just like Niki was for me at Mercedes. You’d have loved him.
It's a different kind of thrill, guiding the next generation of racers, helping them navigate the same challenges I once faced, but it drives me forward.
I’d like to believe you’d be proud of your old man for that.
I sometime wonder if you would have been drawn to racing too, or maybe you'd have found your passion in something entirely different. Whatever it might have been, I would have supported you every step of the way and with all my heart.
I think about the things you'd enjoy often; you know?! The hobbies and interests you'd develop.
Maybe you'd love music, like your mother. She had an incredible ear for it, always humming a tune or singing softly to herself. It’s what got us close in the first place so many years ago.
Perhaps you'd have a knack for building things, creating something out of nothing with your hands and imagination.
Either way, I hope you'd have found joy in the simple things, just like I try and do now.
There's so much I wish I could’ve shared with you. So many lessons I've learned the hard way and would to show you. Life isn't always easy, my little one. It's filled with ups and downs, triumphs and failures.
One of the most important things I wish I could’ve taught you is the value of love. Real love, the kind that fills your heart and soul, and is worth every bit of pain and sacrifice.
I had that with your mother, even if I didn't realize it at the time. She saw right through me, saw the man behind the driver, and loved me for who I was. I'd hope you'd find someone like that, someone who understands and loves you unconditionally.
It might hurt sometimes, but that's how you know it's real. Love isn't always easy, but it's the most beautiful thing.
I would want you to know that it's okay to make mistakes though. I made plenty, and each one taught me something valuable. The key is to learn from them, to grow and become a better person. But each moment, whether good or bad, shapes who you are.
I wish I could have been there to guide you through it all, to help you navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories. My motto has been “Still I Rise” for the longest time and if you wanted it could’ve been yours as well.
Life isn't about being perfect; it's about being true to yourself and striving to be the best version of you.
In the quieter moments I still dream about you, you know. In my dreams, you're a whirlwind of energy, your laughter filling the air. We go on adventures, explore the world together. I teach you what I know, and you teach me about everything else.
Those dreams are my sanctuary, a place where we can be together, even if just for a moment.
Sometimes, I catch myself talking to you out loud, as if you were right beside me. I tell you about my day, about the races, about the world. It might sound silly, but it brings me comfort. It's my way of keeping you close, of making sure you're never forgotten.
Even though we never got to meet, you are a part of me, and I carry you in my heart every day.
You are my greatest loss, but also my greatest gift. You've taught me more about love than anything else in this world.
Sometimes, under a sky full of stars, I imagine you up there with the constellations, looking down at me with curious eyes. And I need you to know that we love you still, deeply and unconditionally.
Ten years old. A whole person with your own personality, dreams, and wishes.
The world missed out on knowing you, and so did I.
But your memory, my precious child, it lives on. It lives on in the way I cherish every moment, every sunrise, every laugh shared with a friend. It lives on in the way I try to be a better person, kinder, someone who would have been a good dad to you.
This letter is my vow written down. A promise that even though you're not here, you'll never be forgotten.
Happy birthday, my sweet child. I hope, wherever you are, you're smiling, knowing that you are loved and cherished.
You are my light, my angel and a part of me. And though the path I walk may be lonely sometimes, I carry you and your mom with me in my heart, always.
With all the love that would have filled a lifetime.
Dad.

The incessant knocking on your door made your head ache even worse, the scowl that greeted the person behind the annoying sounds disappeared when you saw who it was.
"Riki, I told you I don't want t- oh? Konon? What are you doing here?" you frowned apologetically at the girl, to which she only shrugged off.
"I'm here to give you this." she hands you a piece of clothing, a familiar one and you can't help the nose scrunch.
"Uh.. thanks. Take care on your way back." you mumbled, not believing that your boyfriend has to send his sister here in order to accomplish his mission.
"Wait!" she hurriedly says, stopping you from closing the door, "I know that my brother is an idiot for doing what he did. But he does love you, given that he's been sulking since your fight."
You laughed a bit at the snitching, imagining the tall boy pouting, "Thank you so much, Konon. Don't worry, we'll work things out."
She waves her hand, "I'm not worried in the slightest!" she giggles, "He deserves the silent treatment, but I do hope that you'll attend his game."
You nod, bidding each other goodbyes and you sigh. Looking at the item in your hand before spreading the oversized fabric out, a small piece of paper falling from it.
You raised an eyebrow, picking the paper up and examining its contents and it gave you a major facepalm moment. Still, finding it uniquely endearing.
Good day to the prettiest girl who is reading this! You have been given the honor to attend my (Nishimura Riki aka your boyfriend) game tomorrow at exactly 4 PM.
Please encircle your answer from the following options:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. All of the above
Thank you! (ily)
You rolled your eyes at the silly content of his letter, tucking it gently on your coffee table and proceeding to your room to match the jersey with fashionable pants.
He basically wants you to come, so might as well give in. Besides, their team calls you their lucky charm. So you do have to attend either way, or else those rowdy boys will bust your ear out at uni.
---------------------------------------------------
Riki nervously looks around the stadium, eyeing for the familiar figure that he hasn't seen for days. (and it kills him deep inside but he would NEVER admit it)
"She'll come." one of his teammates, Heeseung, pats his back when the older noticed his anxious expression, "We explicitly told her to attend our matches because she brings us good luck. She'll come."
"True that." Jake butts in, giving the younger a comforting side hug, "Now stop pouting and let's do the huddle."
Riki gets hauled into the middle of the field, joining the nestle of hyping the team up, but he couldn't fucking concentrate.
Focusing was proven difficult if he hasn't seen or felt your presence before a game, and it shows.
It was clear to anyone with eyes that their japanese star player had something in his mind- you.
He is getting icky, his teammates were exasperated as well. They are 5 points behind and they are all shouting for Riki to get that touchdown.
Can he do it?
---------------------------------------------------
You took a deep breath when you heard the loud cheers inside the stadium. Wiping your clammy hands on your denim pants and boosting yourself up to go in there.
Finally, you entered the arena, the bright lights blinding you for a second as you took some time to adjust. Moving through the plethora of watchers is a damn journey, finding the VIP spot that is always reserved for you.
You sighed out of relief when you saw the seat was not taken because for real, you did overthink that someone might have stolen your place.
Your eyes scanned the area, gazing at the scoreboard then towards the players. You hear their coach yelling, then you focus on the man that you had been avoiding for a while.
Football is something that you never truly understand, sports in general, but your beloved is passionate about it. That is why amidst your studies, you put in the maximum effort to learn about it. That is why you can confidently say that you somehow understand the situation after analyzing what is happening.
Expanding your lung capacity, clutching on the metal bars that separate the bleachers from the field, you did the unexpected.
“Nishimura fucking Riki! If you don’t score a touchdown, I will not cook your favorite bungeoppang anymore!” you screamed like a madman, and it was like thunder struck the stadium as your voice echoed throughout the field.
Who knew that L/N Y/N has the power to momentarily stop the whole crowd from cheering and the players to stop moving.
Riki grins widely, scouting the bleachers and seeing you in the same seat that he has always saved for you during his games.
The boy gave you a salute and even if you can’t clearly see his face due to his helmet, you know that he’s sporting a smug and victorious expression because you can’t resist him.
Blood rushed into your cheeks and you tried to hide your embarrassment, concentrating on the game instead as the world started spinning again.
You watched your school team defend like their life depended on it, more importantly, you stared intently at Riki’s running form, getting nearer to the end zone.
You clasped your hands together, adrenaline coursing through your veins, praying for him to go for it. To win this and make you proud.
And he did.
Before the time ended, Riki successfully reaches the ball behind the plane of the opponent’s goal line. The side of your university in the arena went nuts when the broadcaster announced an overdramatic: "Number 10, Nishimura Riki, scores a touchdown! That makes Decelis University our champions for this year's league!”
You clap your hands in celebration, beaming in happiness as you witness the chaotic scene in the field. The whole team is popping beers and splashing water, removing their shirts wildly, throwing their helmets, squawking like crazy and lifting the man who set the winning shot up in the air.
Just then, Riki’s eyes meet yours and he immediately runs over to you, ignoring the trophy that was being handed to him by their coach. He does not give a fuck about the barrier separating you two, hoisting you above it, making you squeal around his arms.
“Oh my god! Riki! No, let me go!” you laugh, gripping his shoulders for support as he walks back to his teammates.
“No can do, princess.” he smirks, raising you even further and declaring you as the team’s personal four-leaf clover.
All members howl in excitement, agreeing with his statement because truly, ever since they met you, everything has been going their way. You are an amulet that blocks any ill-fated situations that might fall upon them.
“Put me down, Riki! This is embarrassing!” you covered your face with your hands and he finds it incredibly adorable how the tips of your ears turned pink.
He follows you though, smoothly setting you on the grass field and gently removing the obstacle that interrupts him from getting a peek on your gorgeous face that he missed dearly.
He holds your hands in his stupidly large ones, his fingers caressing your knuckles and he leans down until your noses are touching each other.
“Thank you for coming, my princess. And wearing my jersey too.” he mumbles and you disconnect your intertwined hands, reaching to push his sweaty hair back and resting your palms on the back of his neck.
“I can’t possibly miss an important game of my MVP, right?” you chuckled and it was such a tender moment. Like no one was around you, well, in your point of view they are all blurry as the man in front of you invades all of your senses.
Riki hums, holding your waists and pressing your lips together without any further ado.
He can’t help but smile into the kiss, the reality of having you in his arms like this outweighs any shiny prizes that he could ever dream of.
---------------------------------------------------
You giggled when your boyfriend kept on leaving feathery smooches on the expanse of your neck, frowning when he suddenly stopped to look at you with such sassiness.
“By the way, you have to explain yourself, missy.” he says, tightly holding onto you as you two cuddle on the sofa.
“About what?”
“About why you’re late at my game yesterday.”
It was like a light bulb turned on in your brain, a wicked smile on your face that it somehow scared Riki despite being a menace himself.
“Well, I still haven’t forgiven you for the shit you pulled last week.” you admit and he groans, complaining that he only lent the jacket to some unknown girl to make you jealous.
“Exactly!” you pout, grabbing his face and squishing his face, making him look like a baby duck, “So I have to do something about it.”
Riki raised an eyebrow, suddenly curious at your story.
“What did you do?” a question that Riki regretted when you spilled the answer to it.
“I went and retrieved the jacket from the girl,” you put a finger on his lips, “don’t ask how I got her address. Then I gave the abomination to Bisco. He really loved playing with it, turning it into tiny little pieces of fabric. Very artistic.”
Riki’s movements came to a halt, his eyes slowly moving towards his pet who is currently chilling on the carpet, giving him a nasty side eye when he lightly glared at the Maltipoo. Then his gaze returned to you, gaping like a fish.
“That jacket was expens-”
“The jacket smelled like a girl, unless you want it back?” the tight smile you gave Riki was enough sign for him to shut up.
“No, princess.” he hugs you closer to him, leaving a peck on the crown of your head, “I don’t want it. I can always buy another one.”

For I Have Sinned ୨୧ Chapter III
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.” 1 Peter 2:11
Priest Geto has unfaltering faith in his hands. They have traversed deadly straits. Blossomed gardens. Taken and given life.
Can he trust his hands to mold you for another man?
Pairing: Geto x Female reader
Art credit: Grartss on tumblr/insta
A/N: someone needs to peel me away from I wanna Be Yours x Artic Monkeys and the third scene. That song fits TOO perfectly to my ears. I hope this chapter edges you just as much as it did me.

CHAPTER III: Courtside
Duchess,
Allow me to apologize. It was inappropriate to end our session so abruptly.
You have been on my mind. It will serve your marriage best for you and the Duke Ahriman to pursue individual counseling prior to pre-marital counseling.
I cannot guide you to love one another, your hearts will make that determination. But I can help unravel your layers; to allow for independent growth. Having a strong sense of self, above all,  is paramount for successful matrimony.
Think on this proposal. If you both accept, we will proceed.
Warmly,
Suguru Geto
Suguru Geto.
His name tastes just as rich as it reads.
Elegant.
Too ethereal to be bound by ink and manila paper.
A name like that is meant to be said out loud. Shouted from the mountain top. Meant to be worshipped.
Praised.
“Darling? Are you decent?” Ezra calls from the other side of your heavy chamber doors.
You flicker down to your robe. Technically you aren’t. But your continued attempts to avoid your betrothed — conscious or not — remain futile.
Especially, today. Your formal introduction to court. The future Duchess Ahriman. You will be fused to Ezra’s side for hours on end. Grateful to have been bestowed the honor. An honor you will spend your life upholding.
Pro Deo et patria.
For God and Country.
“Yes, I’m decent.” Hoping whatever he needs can be addressed from behind your barrier.
“May I, my love?”
A bitter scoff glides down your throat, but your words seep sweet. “Yes of course!”
Arella, who is diligently arranging your formal attire on the golden rack, fetters over to welcome the Duke.
Instinctively, your hand tightens the silk knot as he steps into view in your mirror. Ezra’s emerald gaze is warmer than the Grecian sun. Excitement buzzing off of his boyish grin and short strides to your vanity.
The Priest’s letter finds its away into your pocket, just as strong hands land on your shoulders.
Ezra didn’t notice. And why would he? The letter isn’t illegal.
“How are you feeling?” Like plush Evergreens withstanding all seasons, Ezra peers into you and roots you in place.
He’s unwavering, your fiancé. He doesn’t yield so easily.
“Are you ready for tonight?”
“Not like I have a choice in the matter.”
Almost instantly you regret the response. The Duke offers you a pained smile and tender kiss on the crown.
A sudden gust of wind brings the bouquet of fresh Dahlias to everyone’s attention. Ezra rubs a soft petal between his fingers.
“These are outstanding, darling. Who brought them to you?”
Before a half truth drips off your tongue, Arella speaks up, taking stride toward where you sit.
“I picked them this morning. From the garden.”
She grazes over your empty, half parted mouth.  Planting her own kiss on your warm canvas.
“We should get ready for the ball, yes little Dove?”
Ezra’s good natured laugh overflows. He raises both palms in feigned retreat.
“I suppose that is my queue. I’ll take my leave.” Your handsome fiance keeps his word. Shutting the heavy doors behind him.
“Arella!” Your head whips around to face your beautiful handmaiden.
She is swanlike. Coordinating the intimate pieces of your gown. Not another word on her lips but a whole diary on her face.
“Why did you lie for me?” Your hands steady her busy ones.
Arella’s voice is small enough to fit through the cracks in the walls.
“My allegiance is to you and only you, little Dove.”
 · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── ·
“Under His Eye, Father.”
“Under His Eye, Rhea.”
“Blessed Be The Fruit, Father.”
Of course. The greeting used when women are trying for child, the handmaiden chose to use with him. Suguru offers a polite, but pointedly distant smile.
Since his arrival to the compound, there hasn’t been a shortage of high court handmaids and the women they tend to ‘greeting’ him in a similar way.
Well within the unspoken rules of engagement, but a message served loud and clear.
“May The Lord Open, Seren.”  Suguru returns the pleasantry as scripted.
The pretty maiden smiles like a Cheshire kitten. Taking her position in line behind the clergymen. Suguru keeps his gaze ahead. Remaining neutral in the midst of hushed giggles and whispered praises.
His index finger wires beneath the formal collar. Tonight is the first of a long line of celebrations he will have to stomach.
A commemoration of a new contract between families. A new marriage of countries. A long awaited treaty as precarious as the peak of Mauna Kea.
And as the appointed Chaplain he is tasked with praying over each event. Handing out blessings to the soon-to-be-wed and those that wish them no harm.
He’s already exhausted.
The processional begins and all extraneous chatter settles to the ground. Just in time for you and the Duke to step into view. At the height of the sprawling staircase, there you stand.
Regal.
Breathtaking.
Not a single strand out of place. The rigid corset digs into the small of your waist — accenting the feminine swell of your hips. Sage satin drips off the rolls and hills of your mind-altering lines.
Curve and dip.
Curve and dip.
Your figure could render the most veteran fishermen seasick.
Then your eyes collide with his and Suguru nearly falls backward. Knocking more air out of his lungs than any sea storm ever has. Ten times more deadly than the waves he rode along Drake’s Passage.
The infamous strait holds legend amongst seamen, old and new. The lethal dance between the South Atlantic, Pacific and Southern oceans gives way to the notorious Ship’s Graveyard.
At 60 degrees south of the Equator, Suguru’s father tweaked his usual saying before he dove off their vessel.
“Below 40, there are no laws. Below 50, there is no God. Don’t go trying to find One, Son.”
Suguru strips his eyes away from you. Currently plunging well below 60 degrees south, he will drown in you if he keeps gawking up like that.
Focus, Suguru.
Lines from tonight’s production begin circulating in the Chaplain’s mind. Every moment rehearsed down to the breath. The night is already stifling. And he still has to look you in the eye and bid you a lifetime of love and prosperity with Ezra Ahriman.
He’ll have to repent for the lie tomorrow.
Patent leather dress shoes echo a path into the ballroom. Suguru and the rest of the priesthood fall behind the last line of noblemen. His stomach suddenly plummets lower than its usual residence.
Public speaking isn’t the issue.
A room full of eyes trained on his every word has never shaken his nerves.
The problem is the air around him suddenly deciding to shed its layers.
Leaving one, thin strip of sustenance left for Suguru to breathe in. While he rehearses the lies he has to spew in front of a congregation.
Half of which is so forbidden. Basking in the thrill of lusting after a “Man of God” bound by law — biblical and not — to remain pure in the face of temptation. It’s thrilling for that half of the congregation.
Then there’s the other half.
Seeing him for the foreigner that he is.
The other. A man with eyes more inclement than the worst of Heaven’s rainfall. Who bares tattoos of a past life. Acting as if that part of himself is so far lost at sea.
That half of the congregation is counting the seconds until Suguru can be properly burned at the stake. Words he reads directly from the Bible sound like lies to their ears.
Which half of the congregation do you reside in?
“Father, I have a hard copy of your speech if you want it.” Noel whispers, just a few paces away from entering the ballroom.
And Suguru is so fond of the boy. The little brother he never got to grow up with.
“I think I have a handle on it, Noel. Thank you.” The Chaplain flashes a brief smile his way before taking in the last gust of oxygen. Praying that it gets him through the dreaded speech.
Violin notes reverberate in sync with Suguru’s footsteps toward the podium. You are somewhere behind him. Probably 20 paces or so. Polite about your wave. Genuine about your smile. Convincing the masses that you are one of them.
The decades your home country spent in war with them mean nothing.
Welcome home, Duchess.
Suguru’s deft fingers wrap around the microphone.
“Welcome in.” He starts. It takes nothing for the room to come to an obedient silence. Listening intently. Taking in every word.
“Please, may the congregation rise? To give and receive blessings this evening.” Suguru prompts the room, a gentle up-flick of his wrist, raising all to their feet.
“I’d happily kneel, Father.” A muffled comment from the pretty handmaiden that made a point to greet him a few moments earlier.
Normally, Suguru wouldn’t entertain it. But something about this being his first formal engagement strips his usual restraint.
“Such a dedicated servant of the Lord, Seren.”The Chaplain glances over to the blushing crowd of women at his right.
Seren’s outburst crumbles to nothing under his pointed gaze. And a collective chuckle fills the room.
That should be enough to stifle any additional outbursts.
Here he goes.
“To the Duke Ahriman, and the Duchess-To-Be.” Suguru tilts his glass of water up at the noble pews — everyone else holding goblets of red wine.
Beauty and grace lock his eyes into place. Coaxing words out of his parched throat. He couldn’t deny you his voice if he wanted to.
“I pray the Lord brings you unwavering love,” A lie whipped sweeter than cream rolls off his tongue. Suguru’s eyes float from you to the Duke. An eager smile on his face.
But, what is the expression you’re currently wearing, Duchess?
Are you desperate to come up for air, too?
“A never ending fountain of peace.” Suguru continues to bless the ‘happy’ couple. With eyes that can see with inhuman clarity below the level of sea that receives penetrance from Helios.
The Midnight Zone may as well be daybreak to the Chaplain. And those same sharp eyes see something other than joy in your face. Something other than peace.
But he continues his script, nonetheless.
“An unconditional well of prosperity.” Suguru shamelessly sips from your tantalizing presence. If someone whispered to him that you two were the last beings on earth right now, he’d believe it without question.
The finishing lines cause physical pain.
“And most importantly, to an Ahriman heir.” Suguru chokes out. “For God and Country.”
The room erupts in near uncontrollable cheer.
“For God and Country!”
“For God and Country.”
You mirror the Preist’s words and he memorizes every twitch in your lips. Every intonation of your voice is burned into the most permanent part of his mind.
Festivities flicker past Suguru’s short term memory. The night is a complete daze. Hundreds of courteous smiles. Dozens of handshakes. A handful of empathic stares and one all-consuming gaze that halts the Father in his tracks.
How are you allowed to exist when lust is apparently a sin?
The answer to that never comes.
Boisterous music. Drunken celebration. Complete disinhibition comes in full force instead.
Suguru wires around the women flinging themselves into his embrace.
No matter the intention, he wants no part of it. In fact, if he could make it home to steal a few hours of uninterrupted sleep he would consider the night a roaring success. There’s no telling how many seconds, minutes, hours have passed since the start of the celebration.
Not until his eyes find you swallowing more  than a mouthful of red wine at the edge of your seat. Avoiding eye contact with everyone in the room as if the clouds are your native home.
“Blessed be the fruit, Duchess.” An inebriated noble nearly trips into your arms.
You narrowly miss his impact. The flame in your campfire gaze ascends high enough to singe the crescent moon.
“May the Lord open.” Each one of your words sharper than swords made of dragonstone.
Suguru starts to make his way over to flailing man, to rip him away from you at the very least.
But you are more skilled than he is in still waters. Beneath your fiancés nose and a host of prying eyes you find an exit to slip past.
The Chaplain’s feet move before a knowing smile tugs on his lips.
Suguru knows exactly where to find the woman who doesn’t want to be found.
 · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── ·
Saline seabreeze intertwines with your loose mane. Erupting goosebumps along your exposed décolletage. Expanding the lungs imprisoned by your steel-boned corset.
Breathe.
The moon is curved and high. Super-terrestrial hands knead the low tide crashing along the cliffside.
To what end?
Your mind searches for a finish line to the marathon. Desperately seeking refuge from the journey with no endpoint. Traveling further than Pheidippides, who ran hundreds of miles from the battlefield to the citadel to deliver news of victory.
All before dropping dead.
A chuckle more bitter than the goblet of wine escapes you.
You would travel further just to be home. Even if it meant instant death in return.
“For God and Country.” Sharp words through terse lips. “For God and Country.”
Thick, unforgiving fog fills your brain space. Heels echo through the chapel garden, pebbling the stone path to the rocky edge. Red wine powers your clumsy stumble. Chasing an ever elusive clarity.
The marathon continues.
“What if…what if I don’t serve your God.” You hiss at the stars above.
Resentment more potent on your tongue than the spirits you ingested tonight. Before rules of conduct blare through your drunken haze, rolls of sage satin fill your balmy fists and you take a seat on the ground. Legs dangling over the edge. Enticing the dangers below.
“For God and — what if I think your God is deaf and dumb and…and—“
“And He loves you all the same, Duchess.”
Oh, that voice.
That voice that smells like honey. And tastes like a dream. And sounds like lilac.
No.
Violet.
Like the eyes of its owner.
“Suguru!! I-I mean Father. Shit. I’m sorry.” Bitter resentment is replaced with sour regret.
Did you really need that last serving of truth elixir?
The Chaplain lets out a deep, velvet chuckle. It runs smooth along the curve of your flushed cheeks. He takes a seat on the ledge. A full hand width or two away and yet, his presence kisses you in the way sun rays do, when they tuck in for the night.
“You must think I’m a petulant woman, Father.”  Shockingly sober words, thanks to the company beside you.
Another rich, truffle laugh. You cant help but notice his prominent Adams Apple gliding down the muscular column of his throat.
“My name sounds like a ballad when you say it.” Irises softer than an oil painting cement you in place.
“Please use it.”
Because it is, Father.
His name is a ballad. A sonnet. A monologue in its own right.
A love letter.
“And what of my name, Suguru? When will you use it?”
Sobriety flutters away as quickly as it cloaked you in the first place. Cobalt winds lift the hem of your dress. A sheet of goosebumps along your bare thighs now on display.
From the glacial breeze? The damp earth beneath you?
…Or is it the way the Chaplain’s Adam’s Apple and gaze descends?
“When I’ve earned it, Duchess.”
Long, deft fingers reach over to re-drape the  satin over your knees. You swallow a gasp before it erupts.
Of course he fixed your dress. It’s where your hem belongs. Especially around a man who has taken a vow of celibacy.
No, no.
Especially as a woman who is engaged. Spoken for. Under the God he serves and the law you abide by.
“I trust you’ll have enough..” Suguru’s lips curl up at a thought reserved for himself only.
And somehow, the perfectly centered dimple  on his appled left cheek comes to your attention for the first time.
“Enough what?” You probe, sinking in the cavern you’ve discovered.
“Conviction.” Volcanic eyes trail up to the moon. “To tell me the exact moment when I’ve earned the privilege.”
Suguru gives you ample space to bathe in him while he bathes in moonlight.
It’s uncanny.
How the Priest exists in two different places at once. Down here, with you on the cliff edge. He’s tangible. Thick locks in a poetic cascade down his back. Limbs nearly twice as long as yours, beckoning creatures that only break the surface of Leviathan’s playground to wreak havoc.
Sure, he’s down here.
But he’s also up there.
Somewhere in the ether. Traversing altitudes well above the average, simple minded being. High enough for the Gods to confess their sins. Because Suguru is the only one worthy enough to forgive them.
“You’re staring, Duchess.” His voice holds a grin, and that grin has fingers.
Cruel, torturous fingers that pet and stroke and tease your throbbing core until it’s plush. Your cunt is more intoxicated than you are.
“Eyesight is not a sin, Father.” You retort, crossing your legs before any more arousal leaks from your warm sex. Your gall entirely fueled by Arella’s quote imbedded in your mind.
“Suguru.” The Priest corrects.  His sleek, jet black brow elevates. You must be an amusing drunk.
“Suguru.” You acquiesce with a bashful nod.
“So demanding.”
He gifts you his left dimple once more. A feature that is rapidly soaring through your mind’s construct. Undoubtedly the only boyish thing about the stallion of a man next to you.
Straight from Poseidon’s steed.
“Very.” He agrees. “Only when the time calls for it.”
And what time would that be?
“The Dahlias I sent, did you enjoy them?” Suguru deftly redirects the conversation like a captain navigating treacherous waters. As if he heard the blasphemous thoughts starting to brew.
“They are gorgeous.”
Stifling heat emanates from your cheeks. You were so fond of the bouquet that you felt compelled to lie to your betrothed about the source.
“Good.” His eyes capture a moon ray and holds it hostage.
“And the letter?”
“I loved it!” A slurred confession. “I’ve re-read it more times than I can count on my fingers and toes.”
How does his laugh sprint down your spine the way that it does?
Unraveling you bit, by bit. You would stay drunk and stupid if it meant you could keep drawing that addicting sound out of his full lips.
“I was referencing the proposal in the letter, Duchess.”
Suguru’s eyes drop to your bottom lip, now rolled under your teeth. Not even a second passes before he flickers back out to the sea. And you’re grateful for the privacy to darken like Pinot Noir on a corkscrew. Both hands cup your reddened cheeks.
“Yes, of course.” You wave, a matter-of-fact, of course.
“I’ll do whatever you ask of me.”
That response draws something new from the enigmatic Priest.
Raven locks lift off his back from the speed at which his gaze recoils back to you. Lightning strikes the volcanoes in his eyes. A clenched fist and tense arm drops between his legs.
Is he…steadying himself?
You can’t quite name his expression.  Wine or not, you’ve never seen anything like it.
It’s dark. Ominous. Full of bloodlust.
And you’d gladly offer up a vein.
“Pardon?” He rasps, completely fixated on your lips. As to not miss a single word of your answer.
Your hips roll around under his unrelenting stare. “I-I mean, you know best. I will do whatever you think is best for my marriage.”
Suguru barely hears your repeated answer, judging by the way he briefly makes eye contact, before re-settling on your mouth. Heat swells in your puffy cunt. Already hugging your thin, sodden undergarment.
The Priest offers no words.
Just a heady, quiet that pins you to the ground. And your mind, suddenly promiscuous, wonders if this is what it feels like to be beneath a man’s weight. Caged in by muscular arms. Scalded by fiery eyes tracing inch by inch.
Not that you would know.
Not that you know anything about making love. Or men. Or loving a man.
“Will you…can you teach me how to love a man?” The tips of your ears threaten to melt off your head the second your sentence is complete.
Another shocking blow to the Father. His lips hang open in disbelief. For one, two, three seconds before he zips back up. Concealing his thoughts behind a courteous but very present steel barrier.
“I—“ He starts carefully, averting away. “Surely you don’t need to be taught—“
“But I’m pure, Father.” You counter. Searing into his angular profile. “I’ve never…I don’t know how to—“
Cool fingers gently tilt your chin upward. To brand his correction into your memory.
“Suguru.” The Chaplain’s voice glides lower than your inhibition.
Something says that he won’t correct you a third time.
Despite the temperature maintaining the same degree, a sharp jolt of pleasure straightens your spine as your nipples pebble against the silky fabric. You gnaw your cheeks to keep from physically squirming.
“S—Suguru.” You repeat. Subservience wets your drooling sex in a way that makes you want to keep following commands.
Suguru’s tone rubs the folds in your brain smooth.
“Good. Quick learner.” A pleased grin blooms across his lips. “I’ll start with focusing on you.”
The two of you slowly peel away from one another. Crashing waves replace the heady silence.
Well, silence other than your heartbeat rattling between your ears. In your periphery, the Chaplain is now peering outward, at his true home. The coast is clear to return your greedy eyes back to his acute, feline features.
Just enough of his mane is tied back to reveal a pretty mulberry dusting his high cheekbones and pointed nose.
A pleasant surprise to know the demigod warms like the mortals he walks amongst.
“You’re blushing, Suguru.” Girlish satisfaction heavy on your tongue.
Another decadent chuckle pets your womanhood. And this time you have to swallow a moan.
“As are you, Duchess.”
“Darling? There you are!” Ezra’s voice is just as, if not more sobering than his footsteps approaching.
Too soon.
Time bows at Suguru’s feet. The concept doesn’t exist around him. Someone, be it Arella or Noel or now, your soon-to-be husband, someone always has to physically draw you back to the present.
Reality never comes on time. Always too late. Or in your case, always a little too early.
The Chaplain is on his feet in seconds. He swiftly lifts you from the edge and sets you on solid ground. Leaving you dizzied and breathless on the surface.
Guilty and red-handed beneath it.
“Oh sweetheart,” Ezra paws at the soiled fabric, concern etched into his face. “Your dress is completely ruined.”
“I’ll live.” You’re sharper than intended. Surely, from the spirits still thrumming through your veins.
Ezra falters like a wounded puppy. And it tugs on your tattered heartstrings.
“Thank you for the concern, Ezra.” You soften, thumbing his cheek. Purposefully avoiding the violet beams aimed at your face. And shoulders. And hands.
As if the Priest is daring you to keep provoking his searing gaze.
But your fiancé unravels under your rare display of affection. He eagerly leans over to kiss your forehead. Meanwhile your hand desperately magnets to your side.
“Sorry for leaving so abruptly Ezra, I—I had a bit too much to drink and I needed air then—“
“Don’t give it a second thought, my love.”
Your fiancé is gentle with you. Little strokes along the small of your back. And maybe…just maybe your reaction time is dulled because for don’t immediately flinch away.
“Individual counseling starting early then?” Ezra jests. Pristine jade eyes dance between you and Suguru.
The Priest offers a smile about as warm as the Siberian tundra.
“Hardly. Just ensuring the Duchess is out of harm’s way.”
Like your fiancé did with you, you flower under the pad of Suguru’s thumb. A brief swipe, to remove a stray saltwater droplet. But your skin scorches all the same. Unreasonably missing a touch that lasted all of half a moment.
Ezra clears his throat and drops his broad, but not nearly as broad, shoulders.
“I received the memo from your office staff, Father. Please accept this as my formal agreement to proceed with individual counseling.” He reaches out and Suguru takes his hand firmly.
“Duchess,” Suguru beckons without breaking focus on Ezra.
“We will be begin your sessions in three days. Meet me around 8:00 AM in our garden. Yes?”
Our garden.
You are a dirty woman.
The way your core aches at his meaningless, frivolous, harmless words.
“Y-yes. I will be there.” A half-baked attempt at maintaining neutrality.
Your agreement earns you Suguru’s left dimple again. You toss your gaze elsewhere before your knees commit treason.
“Duke, is there an activity you enjoy?” Suguru probes Ezra.
“Sailing.”
“Sailing…?” Suguru lifts an incredulous brow. Blatantly amused by his automatic response.
Granted, you don’t know your future husband that well, but he’s never made mention of any maritime activities.
Meanwhile everyone in this country, two countries over, possibly your home country knows that water belongs to the Chaplain. The element bends to his will.
“Are you certain about that, Duke Ahriman?”
“Yes, Father. We have quite the fleet. I think you would be impressed.”
“Understood. You and I will set sail before Sunrise the day after tomorrow.”
The men exchange pleasantries as they do. Ezra intertwines his loving fingers into your reluctant ones. He ushers the long night to a welcome end.
Five steps into your path home, a blistering heat snakes up your spine. Fanning your shoulders like high noon during summer solstice.
You don’t have to do it.
You know the source, already.
But you do it anyway.
Over your left shoulder, you find the Naval Prince strolling along the unstable rocky ledge with as much grace as he does flat terrain. Eyeing the tide. Searching for the perfect entry home.
Suguru’s trident reflects stark against the moonlight. Upper body completely shed of clothing, lower body with a long, black compression garment. Heavy locks now woven in the same singular braid you met him with. Dark overhead skies somehow illuminating the ridges and shadows of his sculpted arms, and back…and chest.
A glimpse of heaven.
…is staring right back at you.
Possessing you.
“Enjoy your swim!”
The words string together without your consent. Ezra lands his attention on you, startled by the sudden crack in silence.
And the demigod shakes his head.  One part disbelief, two parts fond.
“Enjoy your dreams!” Suguru calls back before turning his trident to you. His night has just begun.
You walk away with your betrothed, cloaked in soiled satin and guilt.
Were you in the wrong? Maybe so.
But your heart didn’t choose Ezra. Not yet. You aren’t sure if your heart has even chosen you.
Arella’s gentle wave from the patio welcomes you home. Sleep suddenly descending on your heavy lids.
At least you’re safe, here in your mind’s haven.
For now.

“Fuck.”
A tormented hand swipes the bead of moisture tickling a path down Suguru’s temple.
0345
Obscenities seem to spill from his lips a little too easily these days. And his usual coping mechanisms are falling a little too short.
The chaplain drags the hem of his sleepwear down to his thighs.
Each bone, muscle and tendon is utterly spent after tonight’s swim. Every part of his body except the thick rod that springs free from its cage.
Glistening with beads of lust. Taunting him. Making a mockery of his code of conduct.
Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Wife.
“Really?” Suguru scoffs and screws his eyes shut. His nails dig into the abused sheets to keep from gripping his cock and tugging himself numb.
How convenient.
The Holy Book of Answers and all of its rules makes no mention of how to survive the likes of you.
How does one circumvent murky waters when Thy Neighbor’s Wife is Aphrodite’s reincarnate?
Suguru’s heavy, oversized length pulsates. Its blushing head lays flush with his abdomen, a few inches past his belly button. Leaking pearly arousal onto his damp skin. Still not fully air-dried from the second icy bath since returning to his quarters.
‘I’ll do whatever you ask of me.’
You dangled your submission in front of him.
Him, a red-blooded man.
A ravenous, touch starved, cunt-drunk beast of man. And you sat there. With your dizzying silhouette. And puffy lips. And pert nipples, pebbling from his gaze alone.
Did you think he couldn’t see?
How you pressed your mouth-watering thighs together? With wide, gorgeous eyes. Desperately trying to deny yourself the indulgence.
What if he asked you to spread your legs then and there, pretty girl?
What if he asked you to watch his fingers pet that weeping little cunt of yours? Watch how much honey he could coax out of your needy opening.
Because you were.
So fucking needy.
Suguru could see it from a mile away much less sitting next to you. Tensed legs. Short gasps. Studying his features when you thought his attention lapsed.
‘Can you teach me how to love a man?’
“Oh, sweet girl,” Suguru rolls over to settle a plush pillow between his thighs. The cool, soft cotton rubs blinding friction against his aching length.
This is wrong.
Immoral.
He’s a filthy, disgusting, pervert.
Suguru lurches his hips forward in a deep thrust against the cushion. A shattered groan pushes past his clenched jaw.
It’s a disgrace, the way saliva pooled in his mouth and cum drooled from his cock when you unveiled your purity.
Suguru’s hips rut faster. Brutalizing the pillow. Animalistic sounds bubble out of him.
“Fuck…fuck no..don’t..” Pathetic pleas contradict the pace he humps the fabric. Chasing the whirlpool of lust in his groin.
Demons in hell couldn’t concoct the vile things his mind is showing him. The intricate ways he wants to violate you.
A moral stain for the church
The priest tilts up on his knees. Fucking the pillow in earnest. Picturing its your precious, dewy center that he’s defiling.
He could teach you, gorgeous.
He could shape your untouched core to fit his cock like a sleeve. Perfectly molded to his veins. Slotting into your warm, wet, noble sheath with ease.
He would have you sit on his lap for your first lesson.
His swollen length buried inside you to the hilt. He wouldn’t thrust, not yet. Your body would just clench and squeeze and leak around his intrusion. Suguru wouldn’t retreat out of your cunt until you were begging him to. Teary eyed and drooling from every single opening.
He could teach you. Break you. Turn you into a pretty little cockdumb puppet at his touch.
“God..nngh fuck.” Opaque fog fills his head and lungs.
Sordid moans echo against the walls. Reflecting his sinful behavior, but Suguru is too intoxicated to care. He curls around his swollen cockhead. Feverishly jerking his abused sex. Grinding so pitifully into his hand.
Suguru drops his head. Mumbling your name in full before spewing himself empty into his grasp, the sheets, his pillow.
Shame warmer than the mess of cum he’s currently laying descends. Filling the fuzzy corners of his brain.
Is he really so weak?
“Be stronger than this.” The priest hisses angrily.
Unable to lay in filth for another second, Suguru rockets out of bed. Pulling his sheets, folding his sins away. To be cleansed in the next load of laundry.
A third, icy shower serves the same purpose for him a few minutes later. Glacial droplets soak the length of his mane, again. His manhood hangs away from his body, bucking every couple moments. Threatening to steal his virtue for a second time.
He’ll be a better man when the sun rises.
A tired sigh escapes his lips. At least Suguru is safe, here in his mind’s haven.
For now.

-
Tobias, Nia, and Junie travel south to find Will and the human settlement.
-
“You’ve got food and water for the road, and the map I gave you.”
“Yup and yup!”
“And you know what to do if anyone gives you trouble.”
“Bo, c’mon! Nia and Toby are stronger than they look. They’ll keep me safe.”
“Answer the question, Junebug.”
“Fine, fine. If anyone gives me trouble, I peck out their eyes.”
“Good egg.”
Tobias snorts. He and Nia, well-rested after an admittedly cozy night in Junie and Bolat’s home, lean against one of the tall pines to the side of the flying types’ home as they wait for them to finish saying their goodbyes. Junie seems ready to head out, at least, bouncing in place with the aforementioned map pinned under one of her tiny feet.
Now they just need Bolat to stop being an overbearing blissey.
Tobias looks up at slivers of blue sky as the wind rustles through the pines. It’s not as early as he usually likes to get going, mid-morning rather than dawn, but Junie and Bolat alike had refused to get up sooner. Outvoted three to one once Nia realized she had sleep-in backup, Tobias had settled for resting a bit longer, eventually flipping through Nia’s book about abilities out of boredom.
He’s glad they’re finally getting moving. The day looks nice, only a bit chilled by autumn winds, but he’s feeling restless. Ready to talk to Will and find out if the yamask has any answers. If not, then he’s ready to head back to the guild where they can see if August and the others came up with anything instead.
“Bo, we’ll be fine! Seriously!” Junie complains after another round of questions. “You worry too much.”
The skarmory gives Junie a playful nip with his wickedly sharp beak. “I don’t think you worry enough, for such a tiny thing. I’d prefer to escort you all there myself, but I can’t get someone to fill in for my mail route on such short notice.”
Nia cringes. “Sorry. I debated sending a letter ahead of time, but I thought it’d be a nice surprise for Junie.”
“It was!” Junie assures.
“We’ll be fine,” Tobias says, stepping forward and plucking the map out from under Junie’s foot before she loses it. He ignores her squawk of protest. “Luckily for these two, I can actually read a map.”
Bolat laughs as Junie pecks at Tobias’ leg and gets a light kick in return. “Good to hear. ‘Mon are fairly kind around this area, so just stop someone if you do get off the path and they should be able to guide you back.”
Nia and Tobias nod, and it falls quiet as Junie and Bolat both seem to realize there’s nothing else to be said.
“Bye, Bo,” Junie whispers, hopping forward to rub the top of her head against his metallic leg. “Sorry for ditching so suddenly. I’ll be back soon.”
Bo bends to rest his giant beak on Junie’s body. “Just come back safe, all right? We both know you have a penchant for trouble.”
Junie laughs, hopping back. “But I always find my way out of it!”
“Rarely on your own,” Tobias says. Nia elbows him.
“Oh, just wait and see if I save your butt next time you’re in trouble! You two have no room to talk!” Junie sticks her tongue out at him.
Tobias can’t resist doing the same.
“And on that note,” Nia says, laughter in her voice. “We’d better get going. Thanks again for letting us stay the night, Bo. And for the food! We’ll see you on our way back through, okay?”
“Safe travels, you three. Bring this little troublemaker back in one piece, all right? Too quiet around this place without her.”
Nia assures him that they will. Junie hops onto her shoulder, and the three of them start on the forested path back to Stonebrook, Nia and Junie waving until Bolat is completely out of sight.
Junie is directing Nia where to go, so Tobias lets himself fall back to pull out the map Bolat had lent them.
While the skarmory had pointed out their destination once already, the map is still more detailed than Tobias expects, spanning half the continent and even including some simple drawings to illustrate. He finds Stonebrook in the middle of the forest, then traces the path leading to the main road. From there, he moves south until the road leaves the forest entirely and enters the plains to the south. Eventually, the path hits the ocean at Kaleido Bay.
According to the skarmory, the human settlement is halfway between where the forest ends and the ocean begins, built into the side of a mesa off the main road. If they follow the trail south and stick to it, the mesa should be easy to spot. Bolat guessed that they could even make it there by nightfall, if they kept up a good pace.
Tobias looks up as they break from the pines and into the bright sunlight bathing Stonebrook in warmth. He would love to take a rest on one of the smooth, heated boulders strewn about the little village, but they have places to be. He folds up the map and tucks it into their satchel, then speeds up to match Nia’s stride.
“Marie makes the bestpastries ever,” Junie is saying, swooping around Nia as she points out different areas of the village. “Especially her pies. Ooh, we could stop and get one to eat on the way!”
“We can’t stop every time you get distracted,” Tobias says. “If we want to make it to Will’s by nightfall, we need to keep up a good pace.”
Junie pouts at him. “Spoilsport.”
“We do need to talk to Will as soon as possible,” Nia says, even as she lifts her nose into the air to sniff for pastries. “Maybe when we come back through?”
“Fiiine!”
Tobias takes the lead as they reach the path leading out of town. Junie doesn’t argue, instead diving into a conversation with Nia about what she’s been learning during her mail ‘mon training.
“So even though I’m tiny I could still carry letters and smaller packages. And if I did ever evolve—oh! Nia, have you seen a picture of what my evolution would be?!”
“I don’t think so?”
“I would be huge!” Junie says, swooping past Tobias to splay her wings wide. “Like, bigger than Bo!”
“Really?” Nia asks, eyes wide.
“Guess that’s one upside to the world ending,” Tobias says. “I don’t trust you with the power of a corviknight.”
Junie lands on the satchel looped around Tobias’ shoulder. “Aw, you scared?”
“No. You’d be a steel type. I’d scorch your feathers right off.”
“You wish!”
“You’d be a steel type?” Nia asks, curious.
“Yeah! Like Bo! Isn’t that neat?! Toby, you’re just jealous of how cool I’d be. I’d scare the pants off everyone!”
“Oh, please. I’d be a charizard. You’d be no match.”
“I still don’t think I’ve seen what a charizard actually looks like,” Nia says thoughtfully, head tilted. “You said you’d be big enough to carry me, right?”
“Easily. Charizard are strong flyers.”
“We could be flying buddies!” Junie chirps.
“Not a chance.”
“Flying,” Nia says, voice weak. “Great. How about land buddies instead?”
Tobias snorts, resigning himself to a day of lively conversation.
Their walk to the main road is uneventful. When they arrive, Tobias is a little surprised to see that the new path doesn’t look that different from the little trail to Stonebrook. It’s still a dirt road, just much wider and flattened from countless footsteps, the tall trees on either side a little more open to let in patches of sunlight.
The biggest change is how much busier this road is; they end up passing quite a few Pokemon on their way south. Mostly carts carrying goods between towns, some travelers on foot, and even another Seeker team or two, who give them cordial nods of acknowledgement as they pass.
Maybe an hour in, Nia and Junie take to guessing the names of each unknown species they see, making a game out of it with Tobias as the referee. After a bulky pignite passes by, the two wait until he’s out of sight before conspiring.
“Okay, what do we think?” Junie asks, perched on Nia’s shoulder. “Definitely something with ‘pig,’ right?”
“Hm…could be ‘boar’ instead,” Nia points out. “He had little tusks, right?”
“True. Okay, so ‘pig’ or ‘boar,’ and a fighting type.”
Nia frowns. “I was thinking fire, actually. He was a really bright orange.”
“Yeah, but did you see how jacked he was?! Plus, his fur kinda looked like was wearing a leotard or something. Definitely a fighting type.”
Nia hums doubtfully. “Okay, so fire or fighting? What does that give us?”
“Fire, fire, fire…cinder, maybe? Flame?” “Flame,” Nia murmurs. “Flame, flame…flambé?”
“Nia!” Junie gasps, sounding delighted. “Pork is not a thing here! You cannibal!”
“I-I wasn’t—they have a Pokemon called fidough, Junie! As in D-O-U-G-H! It’s a fair guess!”
Tobias barks a laugh, then quickly schools his expression when Nia and Junie look his way.
“Okay, okay!” Junie says, relenting. “Flambé’s on the table. So what’re our options? Flampig? Flamboar?”
“Flamboar’s not terrible,” Nia says. Then she gasps, paws clapping together. “I’ve got it! Flambabe!”
Tobias and Junie shoot Nia a puzzled look.
Nia shrinks back. “L-Like Babe the pig? From the book..?”
“Nerd,” Tobias and Junie say, in sync.
Junie gives Tobias a thrilled look. He gives her a horrified one in return. It’s not a good sign when they’re on the same wavelength.
“O-Okay, so it’s probably not flambabe!” Nia says, looking embarrassed. “Tobias, what’re they actually called?”
“It’s probably not even a pun this time,” Junie sighs.
“You sure you want to know?”
“Yeah!”
Tobias smirks. “…Pignite.”
A pause. Then Nia and Junie groan, defeated once more by the wordplay of the Ordirune language.
“But he was a fighting type, right?” Junie asks.
“I still think he looked a little fiery.”
Expectant, both of them look to Tobias once again.
“Pignite are fire types.”
“Yes!” Nia fist pumps.
“…And fighting types.”
“Yes!” Junie shouts.
“Wait,” Nia says. “So is that another tie?”
Their fourth tie in a row. Nia and Junie look at each other, then groan again, loud enough to startle a laugh out of Tobias.
______________________________________________________________
It’s early afternoon when they finally reach the edge of the forest, the trees thinning out into wide, flat fields of dry grasses. In the distance sits the faint, blocky shape of the mesa they’re looking for, tall amongst the flat landscape. Bolat wasn’t wrong—it’s certainly easy to spot.
They decide to stop there in the shade for lunch, pulling out the food Bolat had packed for them: mostly leftover berries and nuts from yesterday, as well as some bread that melts deliciously in Tobias mouth.
Maybe they do need to stop by that bakery on the way back.
They’re finishing up their meal food, looking out at the mesa, when conversation turns to Nia’s developing aura abilities.
“You can read minds now?!” Junie asks, beak dropping open to reveal a mouth full of mushed-up bread.
Tobias wrinkles his muzzle and reaches over to snap her beak closed.
Nia laughs, bashful. “Not exactly? It’s still mostly just emotions and, um…vague ideas of what they’re thinking? But they do get easier to understand if I’m really close to whoever I’m reading.”
The riolu glances at Tobias before looking away again. Tobias takes another bite of food and refuses to look at either of his companions, face burning hot.
Junie, unfortunately, catches the brief exchange. “Oh? And how did you find this out?”
“W-Well, I tested it out with some of my—some of ourfriends during training, and on my instructor.”
“And Toby joined in on the fun?”
Tobias glares at the little bird. “Val made me.”
Junie tweets a laugh. “Okay, okay, jeez. If looks could kill. So it doesn’t work if you aren’t really close to someone?”
“Well…” Nia tilts her head, lowering the bread she’d been nibbling on. “No. I can still latch on to their aura and get a vague idea of what they’re feeling. Like I always could. But with Tobias, it was almost like he was talking. It was more…specific.”
Tobias crunches into a chestnut to crack it open with his teeth. He still isn’t fond of that whole deal. Sure, if someone has to be peeking into his head, he’ll take Nia over almost anyone else, but those are his private thoughts and feelings. He doesn’t want someone poking around and judging him for what they find. He’s not a great Pokemon, but no one else needs to know that.
“So you took a little tour inside Toby’s head? Pretty nasty place, I bet,” Junie says.
Case in point.
Tobias reaches over and steals the rookidee’s last bluk berry, popping it into his mouth just to spite her.
“Hey!”
“You deserved it.”
“You kind of did,” Nia says, smiling sympathetically.
Junie huffs, but doesn’t argue. Then she perks up again, and Tobias knows what she’s going to say before the words even leave her mouth. “You should try it again on me! I wanna know if I can feel you rummaging around in my head.”
Nia doesn’t seem all that surprised by the request, either. Still, she looks cautious. “You sure? It’s kind of, uh. Private.”
“You said the same thing the first time you looked at my aura! C’mon, let’s try it!”
Nia laughs. “Okay, okay. I’ll, um, try it from a distance first, then use contact if that doesn’t work.”
Junie doesn’t argue, settling down a foot or so from Nia.
Nia closes her eyes, concentrating. Her paws remain in her lap.
Tobias watches, curious despite himself. Just because he doesn’t want to be the test subject doesn’t mean Nia’s powers aren’t interesting.
“Oh!” Nia’s eyes remain closed, but her brows shoot up. “I got it! And I didn’t even have to make contact first.”
“Does that mean you’re getting better at using your aura?” Junie asks. “Or that we’re besties?”
Nia makes a so-so gesture with her paw. “Probably a bit of column A, bit of column B? Stay there—I want to see how far I can get.”
Nia stands up, eyes still closed, and starts backing up across the grass.
“Rock,” Tobias calls, just in time for Nia to stumble and nearly fall on her tail. She shoots him a grin and a thumbs-up, eyes still closed, before continue to step back, slower this time.
Finally, Nia stops a few yards away from Junie. She’s frowning and tilting her head as if to hear better.
“I think this is my limit right now,” Nia says.
“That’s farther than it was at the guild,” Tobias points out.
“Can you tell what I’m thinking?!” Junie calls.
A moment of quiet. Then, Nia laughs. “Not exactly, but I can tell you’re trying to think of the weirdest things possible to catch me off-guard. You feel…playful?”
Junie laughs. “I’ll show you playful! Here, see if you can feel what flying is like!”
With that, Junie launches herself into the air.
“Oh, this should be good,” Tobias mutters, watching Junie flap higher above their heads. She catches a breeze, then falls backwards and does a loop-de-loop with more agility than Tobias expects. Huh. Maybe her training with the skarmory is helping after all.
Nia groans, sinking to her knees and looking sick. Her eyes crack open. “Ugh. Yup, I felt that.”
“You did?!” Junie calls, stopping to flap in place.
“Unfortunately. I swear I could feel my stomach flip.”
“Yeah, isn’t it awesome?”
Tobias snorts, watching as Junie does more loops and spins overhead, a dark blur against the bright blue of the sky. Her shadow passes over them.
Nia trudges back to Tobias’ side and plops down, still looking vaguely nauseous. “I don’t think I was built for the air.”
Tobias laughs. “You literally weren’t.”
Nia whines, tucking her head into her knees.
Tobias gives her another patronizing pat on the back before tilting his head back to watch Junie again. The little flying type is whooping with joy as she shows off, and Tobias is torn between envy and a weird sense of peace.
Tobias doesn’t hate having the rookidee around. He likes how happy she makes Nia, for one. And with such a heavy atmosphere hanging over them lately—what with the world ending and all—even Tobias can appreciate a bit of levity.
In some ways, Junie actually reminds him of his sister. Much more annoying, of course, much pushier, but she has a similar kind of wit and playfulness to her as Vivi did. At first the similarity rubbed him the wrong way, but it’s starting to feel familiar now. More entertaining than upsetting.
“Toby! Toby, watch this!”
She even uses the same stupid nickname.
Tobias rolls his eyes. “I’m watching!”
Junie tucks her wings and drops like a stone. Beside him, Nia yelps, tensing as if to jump up. But Junie snaps open her wings just in time and swoops low across the ground to flutter to a stop at their feet.
“Wasn’t that sick?!”
“It looked dangerous!” Nia frets.
“Nah, Bo showed me how to do it safely.”
“Bolat showed you how to do that?!” Nia asks, scandalized.
“Uh, yeah? I told you he has fun uncle energy. He’s not my dad.”
“Still!”
Tobias shakes his head, biting back a smile as he starts cleaning up the remains of their meal. It’s time to get moving again.
_____________________________________________________________
By time they find the fork in the road leading to Will’s settlement, it’s sunset and even Junie has quieted down, fatigued after a long afternoon of travelling the road through open fields under the hot sun. The mesa looms over them, still in the distance but close enough that they can pick out some of the finer details of its stone face and scraggly trees.
Noticing the branching path, Junie perks up from where she’s nestled into Nia’s neck fluff.
“Finally! I feel like we’ve been looking at that stupid rock forever. How much longer do you think we have?”
Tobias doesn’t answer, stepping onto the smaller trail leading in the direction of the mesa. Unlike the main road, this path is made for only one or two ‘mon at a time, dirt trail nearly swallowed by the long, dry grasses swaying gently around them.
“Maybe an hour or two, if I had to guess?” Nia says, squinting.
Junie whines, burying her face into Nia’s fur.
“You aren’t even the one walking,” Tobias grumbles, hopping down a shallow shelf of rock in the path.
“At least we can see where we’re heading,” Nia says, ever the optimist. “And it’s late enough that it’s going to start cooling down soon.”
“I guess.”
With that, they fall silent again. Slowly, the sky bleeds to a lavender gray, only their breaths and the whistle of the wind through rustling grass to keep them company. It’s nearly dusk by time they reach the foot of the mesa, its presence overwhelmingly tall above them. It brings to mind half-remembered sensations from Tobias’ childhood in the mountains.
The trail they’d been following starts to wind its way up a steep, mountainous incline. It’s almost serpentine, snaking through the environment, cobbled with rough stones underfoot and walled in by cliff faces, wiry trees, and foliage. Tobias, already tired from the journey here, is breathing hard within minutes. Junie takes mercy on Nia and hops down to trail along behind them.
Tobias isn’t sure how long they follow the trail, relying more and more on Tobias’ tail flame to light the way as the sky darkens. Nia and Tobias both trip more than once on the rough terrain, and take to skating their hands along the rocks and branches crowding on either side of the path to keep their balance. Junie at least doesn’t have to worry about going slipping into a ravine or sliding off the mountainside.
Tobias is getting close to calling that they stop to rest for the night, the conditions too dangerous to traverse with such low light, when they round a bend and see…lights.
“Oh, look,” Nia says, stopping.
Tobias and Junie stop too, staring across the small canyon they’ve been ascending.
On the other side, tucked under the shelf-like lip of the top of the mesa, sprawls a surprisingly sizeable town, seemingly carved into the side of the cliff itself. The buildings are angular structures made of stone, and there is enough golden light spilling from windows and open doors to illuminate them, an oasis of warmth in the sprawling darkness of night.
“It’s beautiful,” Nia murmurs.
“It almost looks like a human city!” Junie says.
It’s…fine. Tobias doesn’t understand why they’re fussing so much.
“C’mon,” Tobias says, moving forward again. “Almost there.”
Luckily for their sore, tired feet, they wind their way around the canyon and to the entrance of the village relatively quickly.
There, a hulking mass of purple armor and pointed barbs is stationed. A nidoking. Tobias remembers seeing him at the human convention, but he still stops in his tracks as the poison type’s beady eyes lock onto them.
Before anyone can say anything, a high voice speaks up.
“Oh, hey! It’s you three!”
Tobias blinks. Then, movement catches his eye. It’s a tiny yellow blur, hopping down from the nidoking’s shoulder and skittering across the rocky dirt to stop before the trio. A young joltik, his fluffy yellow fur bright against the darkness. He’s barely the size of Tobias’ hand.
Tobias’ brow furrows at the familiar greeting. He glances up at the nidoking to make sure this isn’t some sort of trap, then back at Nia and Junie. They seem just as lost as he is.
“I’m sorry,” Nia says, stepping forward and crouching down. “Um. Have we met?”
The joltik cocks his head, but then looks down at himself and chirps, “Oh, right!”
The little bug type leaps up, tucks into a roll, and in a flash of cool blue light, grows over five times as big before landing on four paws. His coat is orange with black stripes and accented with fluffy cream fur.
“I’m Asher!” The growlithe pup yips, tail wagging proudly. “I ran into you at the convention, remember?”
Tobias stares, still more caught off guard by the haunting coat pattern than anything.
“Whoa!” Junie shoves forward. “How’d you do that?!”
Asher snickers, leaps up again, and in another icy blue flash lands on more delicate paws. They’re a deep red against his dark gray coat, matching the tuft of red fur sitting atop his head beween pointed ears. His golden eyes are bright as sparks.
Tobias breathes again.
“I’m a zorua, duh!”
“Don’t duh me! I’m human. How was I supposed to know that?”
“Humans don’t seem to know a lot of things.”
“Hey!”
While Junie and Asher squabble, Tobias takes another breath to calm himself. It’s better with the growlithe visage gone. Zorua are tricksters, but he can handle a trickster better than a growlithe.
“Can zorua turn into…anything?” Nia whispers to Tobias, eyes wide and ears perked. Tobias can practically see the questions building on her tongue.
“Any Pokemon, yeah.”
He snorts despite himself as Asher morphs into a rookidee, Junie’s mirror image. The real Junie squawks, outraged, and bats at him with a wing. Asher laughs, and for a brief moment Tobias sees a flicker of gray fur and red paws before he perfects the illusion once more.
“They’re more like…illusions, though, rather than actual transformations.”
That doesn’t deter Nia’s obvious fascination. She asks Asher if he can turn into her as well, and the zorua does so in a heartbeat, grinning at Nia’s awestruck expression.
“As fun as this is,” Tobias interrupts, still eyeing the silent mass of nidoking nearby. “Can we go inside?”
“Oh!” Asher morphs again in a flash, changing into another charmander, just without Tobias’ scarf. “Sure! C’mon! I can show you around. I know everything about this place.”
Asher skips towards the nidoking and the light of the town behind him. Junie giggles at the sight while Nia bites back a smile. Tobias huffs, following the cheeky kid with a lash of his tail.
The nidoking is even more intimidating up close. Over four times their height and just as wide, with a variety of scars. Tobias can feel the nidoking’s weight and strength as he shifts, looking over each of them.
“Hi, Slate!” Asher chirps.
The massive nidoking grunts in return. “You know them?”
“Sorta! They were at the human convention in Ghatha.”
Slate nods, stepping aside and shifting his heavy tail out of the way.
“Thanks, Slate! I’ll bring you more gummies tomorrow.”
Slate doesn’t answer, but Asher isn’t fazed. He shifts into a meowth and trots by the nidoking with his tail held high. “You haven’t been here before, right?”
“No,” Tobias answers, looking around as they enter town.
A path leads around the outside of the village, a sturdy wall of stones to their right to prevent anyone from tumbling off the cliff. Periodically, torches are perched atop the stone to provide light. To their left, they pass tall buildings constructed of rocks and mortar, where golden light and laughter spill from open windows into the cooling night air.
“So what do you wanna see first? We’ve got all kinds of cool human stuff here! Like…clothes! You guys like clothes, right? We have someone who makes those!”
“You do?” Nia asks, tail wagging in excitement. She picks up her pace to match Asher. Junie hops onto her shoulder to listen as well. Tobias trails behind.
“Yeah! But they aren’t working right now, since it’s late. Oh! Do you want a bath? We have a soapmaker here, too. All the humans go crazy for soap.”
“You have soap?!” Nia asks, voice cracking. She sound like she’s about to cry.
Asher laughs. “Yeah! I don’t really like it. Too strong for me. But we can get you some to use! I know they’ve been working on new, uh…flavors? Scents!”
“What else do you have?” Junie asks, sounding just as excited as Nia.
“Lotsa stuff! Oh! We have someone who makes games and toys, too! You definitely have to visit him. He’s the best.”
Tobias falls farther back, continuing to look around as the three babble on. Most of the inhabitants seem to be inside as night settles in, but the group passes one or two ‘mon out and about. They’re wearing more cloth than Tobias is used to seeing outside of cold weather. A flaaffy has a billowy transparent shawl around their shoulders and another tied around their hips, and a strangely familiar-looking elekid and sandile wearing lightweight scarves scamper by right after.
One building’s door is propped open, and Tobias glances in as they pass by. While the group of Pokemon inside don’t seem to be related biologically, all different species and types, they laugh comfortably with one another as they play games and chat. They’re sitting around a small firepit in the center space of the home. Tobias catches sight of large alcoves set into the rounded walls behind them, with blankets spilling out. Nests?
There are large jars bordering the empty wall off to the side of the group, likely for water. Plus a table with some chairs, books in a small bookcase, floors covered in rugs, and even a few pieces of art hung on the walls.
It's…cozy-looking, admittedly. Spacious enough, but warm. Lived-in.
“Is that a band?!” Junie asks from up ahead, just a smidge too loud.
Her question snags Tobias’ attention, and he jogs to catch up with the three of them. Nia and Junie are looking expectantly at a small outdoor area, with a little fire pit lit in its belly. A small crowd of Pokemon—of humans—are gathered around its edges, reclined and chatting across tiers of stone steps.
In the center, near the fire, a trio of Pokemon do appear to be preparing for a song. A clobbopus hovers their broad tentacles over a pair of drums. A loudred is holding a delicate wooden flute to his lips with giant hands. The last Pokemon, a brionne, appears to be a singer. She has a flipper held to her throat, her eyes closed as she hums to herself.
Nia, Junie, and even Asher gravitate towards the performers with shining eyes. Tobias sighs, resigning himself to listening too, and stands next to his partner.
The drummer start first, jumping right into a tempo so quick that their tentacles are a blur of movement. The crowd’s chatter slows and quiets. After a moment, the flutist joins in with surprising grace, their sharp notes somehow weaving perfectly around the drumbeats. Finally, a few beats later, the vocalist starts up, raising her chin and closing her eyes to release a high, haunting note.
Tobias feels a chill roll over the skin on his arms, as much as he doesn’t want to admit it. He was hoping these three would be terrible. Instead, as the brionne sings a few more wordless notes, her voice lilting high and low in tandem with the flute, Tobias has to admit they’re…good. Really good. His fingers twitch towards the satchel at his hip, wanting to pull out his guitar and join in.
He chances a glance at Nia and Junie. Both of them are enraptured, and Nia even looks a little emotional. Tobias wonders if she knows the song, or if it’s just his partner being her usual sensitive self.
Tobias huffs and closes his eyes, letting the stupidly beautiful music wash over him. The night breeze drifts by, cool, but it carries some of the warmth and scent of the bonfire with it, too. He should probably be enjoying this.
Eventually, minutes later, the song dies away with a warbling high note. The crowd breaks into applause, whistling and cheering.
“Wasn’t that great?” Nia leans over to whisper, eyes shining. Apparently she remembers that he exists again.
“It was fine,” he grumbles.
Nia gives him a more focused look, smile faltering. “Are you okay?”
“Asher!” A voice calls from behind them, cutting Tobias off before he can respond.
Asher jumps and squeaks at the voice, meowth tail bottlebrushing as he spins around. “H-Hey Dad!”
Tobias turns around to see a jolteon moving towards them at a brisk pace. Tobias can’t tell if his fur is the normal level of spiked for a jolteon, or if it’s pricklier than usual from the worried annoyance Tobias can read on the Pokemon’s face.
The jolteon seems surprised when he notices Tobias, Nia, and Junie, though, slowing to a stop. “Oh! Hello there. I…wasn’t aware we had newcomers.”
“We’re not,” Tobias says.
“We just got in tonight. We were hoping to talk to Will about something,” Nia says. “A-And maybe stay for a night or two to rest afterwards? We ran into Asher at the convention in Ghatha, so he was showing us around.”
“He’s supposed to be cleaning his room,” the jolteon says, giving Asher a dry look.
“Can’t it wait until after I show them around?” Asher whines. “Cerise is singing tonight!”
The jolteon’s stern expression doesn’t falter, but he does sigh. “You can come with me as I show them around, but after that you’re cleaning up your toys.”
“Fiiine,” Asher groans. He transforms back into a zorua and moves to the jolteon’s side, tail held low. “I wasn’t doing anything bad.”
“He’s been really helpful, actually!” Nia assures.
The jolteon’s spines relax a bit more. “Well, that’s good to hear, at least. Did you three want to keep watching the show? I’d imagine you’re likely half-asleep if you traveled here by foot, but Cerise is quite the treasure.”
“Well…” Nia glances longingly over her shoulder at the band as they start up their next song, and then at Tobias.
There’s a sudden loud gurgle, and all of their heads snap down to look at Junie.
For once, the rookidee almost seems embarrassed. Still, she laughs. “Uh. You got any food?”
The jolteon chuckles. “I think that can be arranged. Come with me. We can always show you around more tomorrow.”
The jolteon trots down the path, deeper into town. The rest of them follow as the band’s next song drifts into the air. Their group passes by a few other Pokemon, but Tobias doesn’t pay them any mind until he sees Nia do a double-take, slowing to a stop.
“What?” Tobias asks.
“That Pokemon looked like Seiji. The scientist who helped me with my aura at the convention?”
Tobias turns to look at the group again. Sure enough, there’s a little blue disk of a bronzor bobbing along with the others.
“Oh, have you met before?” The jolteon asks, doubling back.
“Briefly,” Nia answers. “I guess I just wasn’t expecting to see him here.”
“Ah. Well, we had a large surge in numbers after the fire. Lots of humans didn’t feel safe after that, unfortunately.”
Tobias suddenly realizes why that elekid and sandile they’d passed by earlier looked familiar. They’d seen the electric-type at the convention, having trouble containing his electricity, and Tobias had pulled that very sandile out of the building’s rubble himself.
“Is everyone here because of stuff like that?” Junie asks, hopping onto a nearby stone to be closer to eye-level.
“Not everyone, but the majority. With the way the world is breaking down, animosity towards humans has only gotten worse. They come here for sanctuary. For likeminded folks who they can connect to and feel safe with.”
Tobias frowns. On one hand, he gets that—he feels an automatic kinship with other Seekers, after all, and fire types. But something about all of the humans hiding out here still feels…wrong. Nia’s happy at the guild, right? She always gets so excited about meeting new Pokemon and learning new things. Do these humans really want to trade all of that away? Is the world really so scary to them that they have to hide from it entirely?
Tobias glances at Nia and Junie.
Nia’s brow is furrowed, but Tobias isn’t sure exactly what she’s thinking.
Junie tilts her head at the jolteon. “That makes sense, but how did you get here?”
“Pardon?” The jolteon asks, looking surprised.
“Well, you’re the kid’s dad, right?” Junie asks, glancing at Asher. The zorua has transformed into a vulpix and is absentmindedly chasing his own tails. “He told us he wasn’t a human at the convention, so…”
“Junie!” Nia admonishes, looking embarrassed.
“What?! It’s a valid question!”
It is, actually. Tobias had forgotten about that. He narrows his eyes at the jolteon.
…Who he hasn’t gotten the name of yet.
The jolteon doesn’t look cornered by the question. He simply laughs. “Ah, right. Well, I’m close with Will, so I just wanted to help him out. I’m not the only non-human here.”
“Really?” Nia asks.
“Of course.” The jolteon sits back, looking at ease. “We couldn’t have built up this village with just the humans, especially at the beginning.”
“Slate’s not human!” Asher muffled voice chimes in. His fluffy tails are caught in his jaws, and he’s still spinning in a circle. “He helped us build a lot since he’s so strong!”
“Why?” Tobias asks. The humans he gets—they feel safer here, and they’re hoping Will is their ticking to returning home. But natural-born Pokemon?
“Most of them were hired during the building process and just decided to stick around,” the jolteon says, shrugging his shoulders. “Some of them want to go to the human world, too.”
Junie frowns. “How would that work if they don’t have a human body to go back to?”
“Will’s been looking into that. The research team figures that if humans were given a body to fit into this world, then the same should happen for Pokemon going the opposite direction. If not, then they’ll likely just keep their Pokemon forms.”
Tobias exchanges a doubtful look with Nia. They both know the truth, after all, that Nia and Junie were only given their Pokemon forms because Mew created them. Although yamask are formed without any interference, so…
The jolteon catches their look. “You said you wanted to talk to Will, right? Is it about getting back to the human world?”
“To…an extent,” Nia answers. “It’s related, but it’s actually more to do with the natural disasters. We were hoping he could help us with a lead.”
The jolteon hums, glancing down at Asher as his son rolls over with a flash and turns into an eevee, weaving between his legs. “I’m sure he’d be willing to talk, but he’s likely retired for the night. Can it wait until morning?”
Tobias opens his mouth to say no, but Nia beats him to it.
“Sure!” At Tobias’ glare, she adds. “W-We need to rest anyways. One night shouldn’t hurt, right?”
Tobias doesn’t argue, much as he wants to. He is exhausted. And he wants to be in top form when they talk to Will.
“I vote food and sleep!” Junie chirps.
The jolteon smiles. “We can manage that. Come on. Not much farther now.”
The jolteon turns to go, but Tobias steps forward first. “Wait. First—what’s your name?”
Both Nia and Junie look startled, first by the sudden question and then by the realization that they’d made it this far into the conversation without such a basic exchange.
The jolteon looks at them for a moment, then laughs. Tobias doesn’t like it. “Right, my apologies. I forget sometimes, with newcomers. Here. You’re probably more familiar with this face.”
The jolteon doesn’t need to leap up, and simply flashes a bright purple before he transforms into a psychic type ponyta, with a fluffy mane and a small black horn.
Junie gasps and points a wing. “The My Little Pony!”
Nia yelps, “Fidel?!”
Fidel smiles, sidestepping Asher as the kid tries to tackle his legs. “We didn’t get to talk much at the Ghatha convention, with everything that happened. But I remember you three. Nia and Junie, wasn’t it? And…”
“Tobias!” Junie offers up.
Tobias flicks her with his tail, nearly knocking her over.
“Are you a zorua too?” Nia asks. She looks a little embarrassed about the bluntness of her question, but it’s clear she’s been thrown for a loop by this revelation.
“Not quite.” In another quick purple flash, Fidel transforms again. Then he’s twice his previous size, towering over the rest of them. Lanky, powerful arms are covered in deep gray fur and tipped with long red claws. Longer red fur flows from atop his head and around his neck like a mane. Sharp face, sharp ears, sharp smile.
“Dad’s a zoroark!” Asher says proudly, transforming back into a zorua and craning back to look up at Fidel. “If I do stay a Pokemon when we go to the human world, I’m hoping I’ll be able to evolve there! Then I can make illusions for all the big Pokemon that Dad can. Right?”
Fidel leans down to nose his son’s head with a tight smile. “Right.”
Tobias frowns. So Fidel is planning on going to the human world with his son? That feels…off. Even if Fidel and Will are friends. Even taking the natural disasters and mystery dungeons into account. Would that really be enough for Fidel to take his son away from the only world they know?
“Are there other zoroark around?” Junie asks, clearly from a place of curiosity and not the suspicion Tobias is feeling.
“Oh! Right!” Nia says, tail wagging excitedly. “You’re a canine—do zorua and zoroark travel in packs like riolu and lucario do?”
Fidel gives Nia an amused look. “I don’t see much of a pack with you right now.”
“That’s ‘cause she’s got us!” Junie says, hopping up to perch on Nia’s shoulder. “Much more versatile.”
Fidel looks endeared by the idea. “I suppose that’s true.”
“Me and Dad are the only zors around here,” Asher adds. He scrambles up his dad’s back to burrow into the zoroark’s fluffy mane. A moment later, his little face pokes out to look at them. “Sometimes I wish there were more, but it is fun playing pranks since no one here is good at seeing illusions.”
“Which is a habit we’ve been trying to break.”
Asher snickers and burrows back into Fidel’s mane.
Fidel sighs, but the sound is fond. He looks down at the three of them. “How about I finally get you all to the inn?”
Tobias doesn’t argue, trailing behind Nia and Junie as they chat with the zoroark. The dark type leads them to one of the larger structures, near the edge of the settlement. It’s a tall, tan building made of stacked stones and mortar, golden light spilling from its windows.
The door is cracked open, so Fidel nudges his way inside. They follow, finding themselves in a spacious room taking up the entirety of the first floor. A brightly patterned rug circles the floor, a  fire pit at its center, providing light and warmth. An assortment of alcoves line the rounded walls. Some are large enough to hold entire Pokemon and have blankets folded up inside, ready to be used as nests. Another section of the wall has much smaller nooks dug into the stone. For storage, likely, considering the wrapped goods and jars Tobias spots there.
There’s a torracat lying in one of the sleeping shelves, a blanket draped over her. She’s using a claw to carefully carve into a chunk of wood, the little alcove lit by the glowing bell at her throat. Her ear twitches, and she glances up at the newcomers.
“We’ve got a few late-night visitors, Clara. Think you can get them settled in with some food and a bed for the night?”
The torracat sighs, setting down her carving and slipping to the ground to stretch. Her black and red striped pelt ripples. “Only for you, Del.”
“Thank you.” Fidel smiles. “I have to get Asher to clean up his room and—”
The zoroark cuts himself off, blinking. He pats at his mane, then looks down around his legs. Asher is gone. They all give the room a quick glance, but the zorua is nowhere to be seen.
Fidel’s expression falls flat. “No desserts for him for a week. You’ve got this, Clara?”
Clara looks amused, whiskers twitching. She gestures him out with a paw. “I can handle ‘em. Go catch your kid.”
“Thank you.” Fidel gives them all a tired smile and a nod. “I’ll come get you tomorrow morning when Will is free. Rest well.”
With that, Fidel slips back out the door.
Clara yawns, showing off sharp teeth. “Well. Let’s get you settled, I guess. You could’ve came a bit earlier, y’know. I was in the middle of something.”
“Sorry,” Nia says, sheepish. “We, uh, came a long way.”
“Isn’t this your job?” Junie asks, much less apologetic.
“Eh, kinda.” The torracat slinks to the side of the room where the smaller alcoves sit in the wall, full of goods. She flicks her tail for them to take a seat on the ground by the fire. “As much of a job as you need here, at least.”
“Which means..?”
“Will takes care of us whether we work or not,” Clara says, pulling down wooden plates and some wrapped goods to throw together a late-night meal. “I just like having a bit of pocket money.”
“That’s kind of him,” Nia says.
“Yeah,” Tobias says, doubtful. “How did he hire the ‘mon to build this place if he’s throwing money around like that?”
“Maybe he found a good job?” Nia suggests.
“Or he found hidden treasure!” Junie chirps.
“Mm. Dunno, don’t care.” Clara unwraps the packages to reveal breads, cheeses, berries, and nuts. Tobias’ stomach growls. “It’s chill here, and that’s all I care about.”
Nia and Junie continue the conversation as Clara puts together a little snack plate for each of them. Tobias crosses his arms and leans back against the wall, unsatisfied. Maybe he is being overly cautious, but he’d argue he’s just compensating for Nia and Junie’s lack of caution. Someone’s gotta make sure they don’t end up dead from trusting the wrong ‘mon.
But at least for tonight, he’ll rest. Tomorrow they can see what Will has to say.

You were never supposed to go snooping around the bunker without your dad, his boyfriend, Castiel, or your uncle, but when did you ever listen to the rules anyway? You were an adult, you shouldn’t have to follow rules set by your dad all the time. It felt silly and childish. Yet, here you were, sitting by yourself in the bunker, not doing anything.
Since Castiel had gone missing, and the angels were out to get your family, your father pretty much kept you under lock and key. You were in the library, staring at another book about angelic lore and the words were no longer making sense to you. You slammed the book shut and groaned in annoyance. Uncle Sam and your dad had been gone for five days so far. You were starting to go stir-crazy. This is what led to your exploration of the bunker alone.
A lot of the doors in the bunker were unexplainably locked. They had been since before your family had arrived at the bunker. You and your family had no idea how to open the doors, and after some monsters crawled out of a previously locked one, your dad forbade you from opening any that didn’t open on their own. What your dad didn’t know is that you found an old key ring a few weeks ago stashed in one of the boxes in the library when you were researching vampires with Uncle Sam. Now that no one was here, you could actually see where they might lead. The last locked door that opened was an accident. A witch from the 1980s came through the door and gave your family quite the trouble. Eventually, Uncle Sam and your dad were able to catch her and dispose of her, but not before she nearly took you out with a few of her spells. You didn’t know what would be waiting for you on the other side of the new locked doors, but you hoped it would be something to spice up your days.
None of the keys on the ring you found were labeled, so you just had to guess where they might fit. You hoped they fit into any doors at all. You would hate if you went to all the trouble of hiding the key ring just for the keys not to open any of the doors in the bunker.  The first door you tried was at the end of the hall where your bedrooms were. It didn’t unlock with any of the keys, so you moved on to a door near the entrance to the kitchen. No luck there, either. You were becoming slightly frustrated, but you pushed forward. Two more doors down another hall didn’t open. You were starting to think maybe your worst fear was true, that the keys didn’t open any doors in the bunker at all. That is until you tried door number five. The first key didn’t work, and neither did the second. However, when you placed the third key up to the lock, it slid perfectly. The sound of the key turning and the mechanism unlocking filled your heart with excitement. Finally, there was going to be something to do while your Uncle Sam and Dad were gone. Surely, your adventure into this door wouldn’t be more than a few hours. They wouldn’t even know you were gone in the first place. You pushed open the door with all your might and were disappointed when you were met with a small, dark coat closet. Really? A coat closet? You thought to yourself. Was this all there was to it? Just an entryway into someone’s dusty old coat closet? You thought surely there had to be more to it, so you filed through the coats hanging up. They were women’s wear and what you assumed was stylish for the time period, though very different from your regular clothing. You could hear muffled talking coming from somewhere on the other side of the closet, and you were just dying to know what was out there. You took one look back at the bunker before slipping on one of the coats and a pair of creme-colored high heels.
On the other side of the coats was a large wooden door; the detailing looked old and pretty. The door itself looked old and heavy. You shut yourself into the closet, leaving the bunker behind, and walked forward into the new door. You opened it slowly and quietly, not knowing what was going to be waiting for you on the other side. You jumped out of your skin when you were almost immediately met with the sound of a woman’s voice. “My my, the men of letters don’t usually send women; what do I owe the pleasure?” Her voice was raspy yet smooth, with a thick accent that you couldn’t quite place. She was sitting in a chair across the room from the closet. She was eying you closely. She may have sounded somewhat friendly, but she was definitely still assessing whether or not you were a threat. She was older but still had a fire in her eyes. She was smoking a cigarette and was waiting patiently for an answer.
You dusted off the front of your coat, not that it did you much good, in an attempt to look more presentable to the woman in front of you. Of course, she thought you were from the men of letters; they must have some connection to every place the bunker leads. “There have been some issues within our organization and so some of our records have not been kept orderly. I’m here to check up on how things are going.”
She seemed to believe you. “Dreadful. I hate the man they usually send anyway. It would be much nicer if they sent you from now on. I’m guessing I’ll need to fill you in on some of our operations since your data has been lost?”
You nodded. “That would be wonderful, Ms–”
“Everyone around her calls me Aunt Pol.”
“Duley noted. That would be wonderful, Aunt Pol.”
You now noticed the second presence in the room you were in, who Aunt Pol had been talking to while you were in the coat closet. A man, leaning against the door, smoking a cigarette, much like Aunt Pol was. He caught your attention immediately. He was decently older than you, you being in your early twenties, but that didn’t really seem to matter. His eyes were a crisp blue like the sea and his hands were worn in the same ways yours were– what years of hunting will do to you. “You’re free to leave, Tommy. This is women’s business,” Aunt Pol said with a smile.
Tommy blew the smoke out of his chest. He eyed you carefully. It was a look you recognized from your work. He was trying to get a read on you. “I’d like to hear what the lady has to say for herself, and I’d love to know how you explain our business, Aunt Pol,” Tommy replied. He took another puff of his cigarette.
The air was heavy with smoke now. You did your best not to let the smell bother you. Aunt Pol smiled at you this time. “Why don’t you have a seat–”
“Y/n.”
“Y/n, why don’t you take a seat, and we can talk business? Tommy, you can stay if you so please,” Aunt Pol gestured vaguely to the couch across from her spot in the chair she had been perched in.
Tommy began to walk over from his place near the exit. “I wouldn’t miss this meeting for the world,” he said.
| < ♥️ > |
After your meeting, you let yourself fall into this world. There was something charming about Tommy that you couldn’t quite put your finger on. His voice was smooth, and his accent was thick. You found yourself hanging on every word that came out of his mouth. Aunt Pol was quick to notice your feelings toward Tommy, but she said nothing. She was curious how it would all play out. You were now in a pub, your system buzzing with cool liquor. You were no stranger to drinking. You had been drinking since far before the legal age of twenty-one. You were barely past twenty-one now, but that didn’t matter with Tommy, not with him, not within this pub. The legal drinking age was definitely lower, and no one even questioned your presence in the space. What you did notice people questioning was Tommy being seen with someone substantially younger than himself. You felt the creepy eyes of the older patrons of the pub tracing your curves. You grimaced and tried to drown the feeling in whiskey, something you learned from your dad, but it wasn’t really working this time. You and Tommy were standing at the countertop, receiving free drink after free drink from the barkeep. He was no fool. He also noticed the looks that you were attracting from around the bar. No one dared look at him the wrong way, but that didn’t mean they left his dates alone. Wordlessly, Tommy wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you into his side. He was almost using his body to block yours from view. His fingertips ever so slightly pressed into your skin. You felt heat rise to your cheeks but said nothing. Another drink was placed in your hand as soon as you finished the one you had.
“Tommy!” A voice cut through the crowd. “Who do you got here?” You turned your head to look at the person speaking, but Tommy’s arm kept you from fully turning around. Two men were looking between you and Tommy: a younger man with a cigarette in his mouth and a slightly older man with a thick mustache. “Does she have a name?” the younger one asked. He was the one who had originally called out to Tommy, too.
“Boys, this is Y/n. Y/n, these two are my brothers, Arthur and John,” he explained.
You smiled at them both. “Lovely to meet you.”
John grabbed the cigarette from between his teeth and grinned. “Where did you find a fast woman like her? Don’t see her type around the city often.”
Tommy’s eyes darted around. No one was paying much attention to the brothers’ conversation. “Would you believe the Men of Letters sent her?”
Arthur laughed. “Those bastards sent an angel like her? What changed?”
“New management,” you said with a smile.
“I’ll drink to that,” John replied.
Tommy gestured to a door off to the side of the bar. “Let’s take this somewhere more private.”
“Agreed. It’s crowded out here tonight,” Arthur started.
“Probably all the patrons staying extra long to gawk at your girl, Tommy,” John said with a laugh.
You felt Tommy’s fingers grip your hip a little bit tighter at John’s words. You were surprised by his interest in you. It was no surprise that you were interested in him– he was everything that a girl could dream about. Handsome, powerful, rich, and mysterious? Sign you up. However, you found his interest in you a little shocking. You didn’t know what he could possibly see in you. Still, you didn’t mind being the object of his affection for the time being. You were interested to see where it would lead you.

You and Tommy were the last ones in the pub. Even his brothers had long gone home. Tommy was behind the bar, pouring himself yet another glass of whiskey while you leaned on the countertop. Your whole body was fuzzy, and your heart felt like it was about to burst every time you made eye contact with Tommy. The alcohol in your system was not helping how much your little crush was affecting you. His eyes trailed up and down your form. “What? What are you staring at?” You asked.
He seemed slightly taken back by your boldness. “You’re the only thing to look at in here, love.” He took a small sip of the drink in his hand.
“It’s late,” you started, “I should be getting back home.”
Tommy shook his head. “No can do, Dove. Aunt Pol is definitely asleep by now. Your only option is to spend the night in Birmingham.”
“But where would I stay here?”
“Well, seeing as you are drunk and we’re the only ones left in the pub, you can spend the night at my house. I’m not letting you go anywhere else alone. It’s too dangerous,” He said. His mind was already made up.
“I guess I will accept your invitation then, Tommy. Lead the way whenever you’re ready,” you replied with a soft smile.

Tommy insisted that you take his bed, and he would take the couch, no matter how much you protested. He showed you to his room; it was quaint and quiet. The only noise that could be heard was a bit of movement from the world outside. You shrugged off the coat that you had stolen from Aunt Pol’s closet all those hours ago. You could feel Tommy’s eyes watching you closely. You didn’t feel like there was much to show– you were wearing a simple T-shirt and shorts with one of your dad’s flannels draped around your shoulders. Still, Tommy’s eyes searched the little bits of your skin that had been revealed. You pretended not to notice. “Thank you for giving me a place to stay. It’s very kind of you.”
“I wasn’t going to leave you out in the cold, Love.” His words were simple, but you could tell that he genuinely meant them.
“I’m not sure what exactly I’ll wear to bed. I didn’t plan on spending the night here,” you replied. Tommy had already put on a nightshirt while you used the bathroom when you first arrived at the house. His eyes flicked between you, and the shirt draped across his chest.
Without a word, he pulled the shirt up over his head. He held the fabric out to you, a small smile on his face. “This looks like it will fit you,” he said. You could feel the heat rising to your cheeks as your eyes scanned over his bare chest. His muscles were toned, and his skin was scarred and tattooed. A familiar warmth rushed to your core at the sight. Tommy’s appearance utterly took you. You didn’t know where to look as you took the shirt from his outstretched hand. Everywhere felt like too much, but your eyes settled on a tattoo on the upper part of his chest. “Oh, that? I have tattoos older than you, Love.”
You smiled at him. “I have one tattoo myself.”
“Really? Care to share?” He asked.
You, without much thought behind the action, pulled your shirt over your head, revealing the anti-possession tattoo that graced your chest. Every hunter needed one; you were no exception. That didn’t matter to Tommy, though. His eyes traced your newly exposed skin. With the hand that had the shirt in it, he reached out and traced the inner circle of the tattoo, taking a step closer to you. His breath was quiet and steady. Yours was louder and more breathy. This did not go unnoticed by Tommy. His hand moved from your tattoo to your upper arm, gently pulling you closer to him. “Tommy?” You questioned quietly.
“Hush, Love,” he replied. He brushed your hair out of your face with his hand and leaned in, firmly pressing his lips to yours. Your stomach was doing flips, but you chose to ignore it. You dropped the shirts in your hands and wrapped your hands around his neck, losing your fingers in his hair. Without breaking the kiss, Tommy slowly backed you up toward the bed. When your legs hit the edge, you squeaked in surprise. He chuckled lightly at your reaction. Tommy gently moved his hand to your back and guided you down onto the bed, only briefly breaking the kiss. Once you were properly on the bed, Tommy positioned himself over you and connected his lips to yours again, even more passionately than the first time. His hands were on either side of your body, trapping you on the mattress, but you didn’t really mind. You placed your hands back in his hair, ever so slightly pulling on the ends. He nearly growled at the contact, moving his lips from yours to leave a stream of kisses on your neck. “T… Tommy…” you moaned as he started nipping at the skin on your sweet spot.
He groaned at the sound of his name falling from your lips. He would do anything to hear it again and again and again. He continued his exploration of your upper body, biting not hard enough to leave marks but just enough to make you moan his name. He pulled away for a moment and sat up; you whimpered at the loss of contact. “You can’t be making pretty sounds like that, love… That’s dangerous…” He helped you sit up just enough that he could take off your bra. As soon as it was off, his eyes were exploring the newly exposed skin, hungry for more of you. “Fuck… You’re gorgeous…” The words rolled right off his tongue. He didn’t even think about it. You blushed slightly at the compliment. Suddenly feeling slightly exposed, you tried to cover your chest with your hands and arms. Tommy instantly wasn’t having that, he grabbed each of your arms and pinned them to the bed. “Don’t hide from me, Y/n… I want all of you.” His face was only a few centimeters from yours, the words hushed, almost just a breath that came out of his mouth.
“Okay…” You replied quietly, still feeling a little unsure.
Tommy caught on to your nervousness, moving his hands to be next to yours instead of pinning them. “You’re okay, Love. You tell me to stop, I’ll stop.”
You shook your head, “No. I want this. I want you…” Your blush grew, but you didn’t attempt to hide your face. You kept your eyes trained on Tommy’s.
He smiled softly, gently connecting his lips with yours again. One of his hands moved to your face, cupping your cheek. The kiss was passionate but gentle. You smiled into the kiss, hardly able to contain how happy you were to be experiencing this, to be experiencing Tommy. He broke the kiss and began working to unbuckle his pants. You blushed even redder at the idea of what was coming next, but you were thrilled. He threw his pants and boxers to the side, and the sight of him nearly took you out. His hands found their way to your hips, and he grabbed the waistband of your shorts, his eyes flicking up to yours. “Are you okay with this, Love?”
You nodded vigorously. “Yes.”
He made quick work of your shorts, pulling them down and throwing them somewhere else in the room that didn’t matter to either of you. He chuckled a little bit at the sight of your underwear. “My… Someone’s wet…” He teased, gently rubbing your core through the thin fabric. You couldn’t hold back a moan. “All this for me?”
He quickly maneuvered his fingers underneath the fabric, finally making contact with your dripping center. “Fuck Tommy…” you moaned as he began to move his fingers.
“Oh yeah? Does that feel good, Love?”
“You feel so good, Tommy…” You breathed.
“You are the prettiest woman I’ve ever seen… keep making those pretty little noises and saying my name, Love…”
“T… Tommy…” You mumbled. It was almost hard to hear you said it so under your breath.
“You can be louder than that, Love,” he stated.
“I need you… inside me…” you moaned. He pulled his fingers away almost instantly, and you whimpered again at the loss of contact. “Tommy…”
Without a word, he pulled your underwear down your legs and threw them into the dark abyss of a room. He lined himself up and looked you in the eye. “You’re sure?” He asked.
You nodded. “Yes, Tommy. Please… Please, for the love of God, fuck me…”
He chuckled lowly, almost growling. “I think God left us a long time ago, Love…” With that, he slowly pushed himself inside you. He gave you a couple of seconds to adjust before he began moving, but it felt so good it didn’t even matter once he started. Your moans quickly became louder and closer together. You couldn’t hold them back.
“Fuck fuck fuck… Tommy…” The words tumbled out of your mouth like a prayer.
He looked at you, his eyes dark. “You feel so fuckin’ good, Y/n…”
“Fuck… Tommy, I’m close…” You whispered, feeling your climax building.
“Me too,” he replied in a similar hushed tone. “Cum for me, Love.”
You moaned again at his words, feeling the knot inside your stomach build and then release into the best orgasm you think you’ve ever experienced. You were breathing hard, and Tommy wasn’t far behind you; you felt his cum enter you. After he finished, also breathing hard, he let himself drop down on top of you, laying his head on your chest. The room was quiet, and you felt at peace with Tommy lying on you. You ran your hands through his hair, and he wrapped his arms around your waist. You close your eyes, feeling the most relaxed that you think you’ve ever felt. There was just something about being with Tommy that made you feel safe. His breath slowed and steadied; yours did, too. You let yourself fall into a deep, peaceful sleep in Tommy’s arms.
| < ♥️ > |
The next morning, you awoke with Tommy’s arms wrapped protectively around you. He was still asleep when you woke up. The rise and fall of his chest was steady and soft. It was the first time that you had seen him look truly peaceful. You smiled at his resting form. He slowly opened his eyes, raking them over your exposed skin before meeting your eyes. He smiled back at you. You think it’s the first time you’ve seen him actually smile. “G’mornin’.” The word falls from his mouth. His accent was thick with his morning voice. God, this was a sound and sight you could get used to.
“Morning…” You replied, a soft look gracing your features.
“How are you, Love?” He asked.
“Good. I could stay like this forever.”
The idea brought that smile back to his face. You wanted to see it over and over again. “You’ll have to come back the next time the Men of Letters have business with us. I’d be happy to have you as my guest again.”
“That won’t be difficult… The Men of Letters like me a lot…” you lied through your teeth. You felt a small pang of guilt for lying to Tommy after you two had become so close, but you knew you couldn’t tell him the whole truth… there was no way he would believe you.
“I can see why,” He mused, gently playing with the tips of your fingers.
“All the screaming stops when I’m with you…” you said quietly.
He furrowed his eyebrows. “What screaming?”
“I’ve seen a lot,” you started. “I’ve seen a lot of people die. I’ve heard a lot of screams, a lot of death rattles. Normally, when I lay in bed and close my eyes, I hear the screams of all the people I couldn’t help or I couldn’t save, but… with you, the world is quiet. I don’t hear the screams anymore…”
You assumed Tommy continued to play with the tips of your fingers in an attempt to comfort you. It was a sweet gesture that made your heart go soft. “I can’t hear the shovels when I’m with you, so I guess we’re even.”
“The shovels?” You asked.
Tommy sighed. “Troubles from my time as a soldier… I always hear shovels coming against the far wall. Usually, they break through before the sun rises, and I am jolted from my sleep, but not last night… not with you.”
“I’m glad I could bring you a little bit of peace,” you replied, grabbing his hand and intertwining your fingers. “I could get used to waking up next to you…”
Yet again, Tommy flashed a smile at you. It made your heart swell. “We’ll have to do this again sometime soon.”
“I would love that,” you returned his smile. He gently placed a kiss on your forehead before pulling away from you and getting himself out of bed. The lack of warmth saddened you that this caused, but you were made curious by Tommy sticking his hand out toward you. You sat up in the bed and reached your hand out to his. He swiftly pulled you from the bed into a warm embrace, his arms draped around your midsection, his forehead leaning on yours.
“We should get you back to Aunt Pol’s house,” Tommy said in a hushed tone. “Get you home. You’ve already been here much longer than you originally planned. Someone on the other side of that door is bound to be worried about you.”
You sighed, leaning up, stopping just before your lips touched his. “Just one more kiss for the road… something to remember the night by…” you said before grabbing him by the back of his neck and smashing your lips onto his.

You hung the coat you had taken back up; you felt like it was only right. You could hear Aunt Pol and Tommy talking through the door. You couldn’t make out what exactly they were saying, but you could hear Tommy’s low, raspy tone through the wood. It made it so hard to leave. You let out a soft sigh. What was the harm in staying a little longer? You were about to walk back out into Aunt Pol’s sitting room when you heard voices on the other side of the Bunker’s door. Your heart nearly stopped. Your family must have gotten back from their hunt. You quickly opened the Bunker door and fled through it, fumbling to lock it behind you with the keys. “Y/n!” Your dad called, “Y/n, we’re home!”
Once the door was shut and locked, you brushed off your pants and briefly ran your fingers through your hair, trying to make sure that you looked presentable. When you felt ready, you ran down the hallway and made your way to the main area of the Bunker, a large smile on your face. Your dad and your Uncle Sam both were smiling brightly at you as they came down the stairs. “Oh, Y/n, there you are,” Sam said, still beaming.
“Sorry, I was all the way in my room… What’s got you two so happy?” you asked, genuinely curious about their current state.
“We have a surprise for you,” Dean replied.
“Oh?” You questioned.
“Come on in!” Dean called.
Suddenly, Cas was standing directly in front of you; his smile was also wide. “Castiel!!” You cheered, engulfing him in a hug. Since he and your dad started dating, he has become like a second father to you. You had been so worried about him since he had gone missing, and you were thrilled to have him back. He hugged you back tightly, his arms wrapped around your back, gently swinging you side to side.
“It’s good to see you, Y/n… I’ve missed you,” he said quietly.
“I’ve missed you too… so much… I know my dad has too…” You pulled back from the hug so you could look him in the eye. You couldn’t stop the huge grin on your face. “This is a huge win for us. We have to do something to celebrate having Cas back.”
“Drinks are on me tonight. Do we feel like going out, or do we just want to get something from the store and watch a movie or something?” Dean asked, rubbing his hands together.
You laughed. You knew his go-to was to get a drink, but he hardly ever bought you a round when he had one. “I’m included? I’m honored,” you teased.
Your dad rolled his eyes. “So what are we feeling?”
“Probably safer to just get something from the store and stay in,” Sam replied. His face looks a little more gloomy than it did before. “Going out would be fun, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk right now.”
Dean sighed. “I hate that you’re right.” Dean ran his hand through his hair. “Cas and I will run and get drinks from the local convenience store, and then we can all have some and pick a movie to watch together. Sound like a plan?”
“So I’m still trapped in the bunker?” You asked, crossing your arms over your chest.
Dean let out another sigh. “We’ve been over this–”
“You were just talking about going out to a bar, and now I can’t even go to the store?” You snapped back. “I am tired of being in here. These walls get boring after a while, Dad.”
“Guys, let’s not do this,” Sam intervened, “We just got Cas back. This is a happy moment. It’s safer for you to stay in the Bunker, Y/n, but I’ll stay here with you while Dean and Cas go get the drinks, so you're not alone this time, okay?”
It was your turn to sigh. “Fine, fine. I’ll stay here. You better bring back something good to drink.”
“I always pick the best drinks!” Dean replied.
“Untrue,” you responded, completely deadpan.
“Cold,” your dad answered. “Come on, Cas. Let’s go.”
| < ♥️ > |
You, Cas, Sam, and Dean drank mostly beer and sat around the Bunker’s TV, watching movies into the early hours of the morning. Things felt almost normal again. You missed this; you really missed Cas. Now that he was back, things were starting to look up again for Team Free Will. You waved goodnight to everyone around 3 am and headed for your room. It was about the same size as the other bedrooms in the bunker, but you had really taken the time to make it your own. You had painted the walls your favorite color; there were thrifted decorations lining the walls and a cozy comforter covering your bed. You turned off the overhead light and turned on your bedside table lamp as you got ready for bed. You changed yourself into your pajamas and decided you wanted to run to the kitchen for a glass of water.
On your way to the kitchen, you pass Tommy’s door. You stopped at it for a brief moment, thinking about the events of the last day, and you blushed. You missed Tommy already, but you knew it would probably be a while before you could see him again. Your family was all back in the bunker, and they were definitely going to notice if you disappeared for hours on end. What you weren’t expecting was a soft knock coming from the door. You almost thought you were mistaken, that the sound wasn’t real… but then it happened again. You sprinted down the hall, back to your room, and grabbed the keys to the door as quickly as you could without being too loud in your footsteps. You fumbled briefly with the keys as you tried to open the door but eventually managed to unlock it and quietly pulled it open. On the other side, you were surprised to see Tommy. He looked tired, slightly bruised, and bloodied, though you had no idea what from. “Sorry to bother you at home, Love,” he said, his voice deep and grainy.
You looked both ways down the hallway. There was no signs of life. No one else in the bunker seemed to have been stirred by the knocking. You were in the clear (at least for now). You grabbed Tommy’s hand and pulled him all the way into the hallway, your voice barely above a whisper. “You’re not a bother. Never will be. What happened to you?”
The door shut quietly, leaving you both standing in the bunker. Tommy looked out of place. He didn’t fit the aesthetics of the bunker at all, but that didn’t matter to you in the slightest. He was perfect in your eyes, even if he was from a different time. “Doesn’t matter,” he replied. “I just needed to see you after the day I’ve had.”
Without saying anything else, you pulled him along quickly, taking him to your room. You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding in when the door shut behind you both. Tommy chuckled. “Based on how you’re acting, I’m assuming we’re not alone in this place.”
“Far from it,” you replied. “My parents are here, as well as my uncle.”
“Oh Christ…” Tommy muttered. “So your whole family are Men of Letters then?”
You felt another pang of guilt, similar to the one you had felt last night. You hated that you had to lie to him, but you felt like it was the safest option. “Something like that.”
“We’ll just have to be extra quiet then…” Tommy said. He closed the gap between the two of you, resting his hands on your hips. He pulled you closer by your hips, his lips hovering over yours. The only sound that could be heard was the noise of you both breathing. You put your hands on either side of his face and took the plunge, connecting your lips to his. One of his hands instantly started to slip under your pajama bottoms, causing you to moan quietly against his lips. He pulled away slightly, putting the pointer finger of his free hand up to your lips. “Quiet Dove… Wouldn’t want anyone to hear us…”
Suddenly, there was a knock at your door. “Y/n?” A voice called through the heavy wood. It was your dad. Your eyes went wide.
“Fuck!” you whispered. “You have to hide.” Tommy pulled away from you, and you were so close to whimpering, but you did your best to hold it together. “Just a second!” you called through the door. You grabbed Tommy by the hand and led him over to your bathroom. “Go in and lock the door. Turn off the light.”
He didn’t argue with you, though you could tell by the look on his face that he had some thoughts about your plan. You shut the door behind him and watched the light turn off from the crack under the door. You did your best to straighten out your clothes and hair before putting a smile on your face. You walked back over to your door and opened it, greeting Dean with that smile. “Hey, what can I do for you?”
“Everything alright? I could have sworn that I heard someone else’s voice in here…”
You gulped. “What? No… There’s no one else here. Just me getting ready for bed. I did have my TV on, though. Maybe that’s what you heard?”
Dean’s eyes searched your face. You knew he was trying to read you to see if you were lying. You held your ground. “Yeah, maybe that’s all it was. Let me know if there’s any trouble though, alright, Y/n?”
“Of course, always…”
“Goodnight, Y/n,” Dean replied with a yawn.
“Goodnight!” You shut your door behind your dad and locked it, taking a big deep breath when you couldn’t hear his footsteps anymore. Tommy let himself out of the bathroom, chuckling softly at your performance.
“I can’t believe you would lie to him like that,” Tommy teased as he walked over to you, resting hands back on your hips. “Where were we?”
You cupped his cheek, smiling brightly at him. You hate that you had to hide something as big as a lover from your family, but there was something about Tommy that made you not care about any of that. When you were with him, you could just be you. Not a hunter, not a Winchester, just you. “I believe you were about to kiss me again, Tommy…”
You smiled before he leaned down, once again connecting your lips to his.

---
You flicked off the lights of the ensuite, throwing the towel into the hamper as you headed over to the floor length mirror in the corner of the bedroom, lotion in hand. It’s been a long week, culminating tonight with what felt like the longest work dinner of your life, capped off with desperately needed drinks with the only two coworkers who get it.
You barely saw Harry all week, two ships passing in the night as you dealt with extensive crises at work and he spent his days doing his unemployed side quests. He had texted you once the show was out, seeing if you wanted him to pick you up on his way back but you were already home by then, hopping in the shower to scrub the corporate small talk away. You tightened the rope on your robe and took a deep breath, more than ready to be in that bed and as far away from this week as possible.
You heard the front door open, immediately followed by his whistling. It was a tune you didn’t recognize but it still brought a smile to your face, the impact the show he just saw had on him seemingly immediate, even if he wasn’t conscious of it. His whistling is almost instantly drowned out by Sammy’s barks, and you can almost picture the scene as you hear it. Him crouching to greet the dog, his “‘s only me, Sammy! Just saw you a couple hours ago mate, ‘m not back from war” before a softer “yeah, yeah I missed you too.”
You place the lotion on the dresser, squirting it into your palm and rubbing it into your face and neck as you listen to him coo at the dog. It’s a few minutes before you hear his footsteps down the hallway, his knuckles on the door as he pushes it open and you look over at him, almost choking on air when you get a sight of him as he leans against the doorway, smiling over at you.
He looked good.
The beard and hair both growing in nicely, the mullet look you were tentative about at first really doing wonders on you now. And the fit?
The fit.
The blazer over the tight fitted tee, tucked into trousers that made his legs look like they went on for days. You couldn’t help gaping a bit, your eyes roaming up and down as you got a good look.
“Like the fit?” he asks with a laugh, your grin widening as you lock eyes.
“Love the fit.” you say, your eyes snagging on the words emblazoned across his chest, squinting as you try to read the lettering. “What’s the shirt say?”
He smirks, keeping his shoulder pressed against the doorframe as he uses his free hand to pull one of the lapels of the jacket open, helping you read the words 'I like to watch'.
You huff a laugh, smirking as you look back at his face, eyes staring back at you with a twinkle, a glint, and not an ounce of shame.
“Cheeky,” you murmur and if possible, his smirk only deepens, your stomach twisting. You just stand there, staring at each other for a few moments. “You look fucking fit.”
“So do you.” he says, eyes simmering as they sweep slowly down your body.
“Me?” you ask incredulously, looking down at yourself. “I’m wearing your old robe.”
“Meant what I said,” he shrugs, unbothered as he pushes off the doorframe and makes his way over to you.
His hands come up to frame your face as he leans in to kiss you, stealing a few in rapid succession before pulling away and wrapping his arms around you, pulling you close. You wind your arms around his neck, holding on as he rubs a hand up and down your back, pressing a kiss to your temple before pulling back to look at your face. “Hi.”
“Hi.” you say, leaning up to kiss him again. “Missed you this week.”
“Me too. You had a long week, huh? How was that dinner?” he asks, snorting a laugh when you make a face. “That bad?”
“Three of us immediately ran to a different pub the second it was over because we so desperately needed to talk shit,” you say, feeling warm down to your toes when he honks out a laugh. “The ballet was good?”
“So good,” he says, pulling a hand from your waist to brush a strand of hair behind your ear, brushing the backs of his fingers against your cheek before pressing a kiss there. “Really inspiring. The movement and the music - just the way they use their bodies to tell a story, express an emotion. Made me think about how much I need to stretch.”
You snort.
“Made me think about more than that, y’ ninny.” he says, pinching your chin between his index finger and thumb when you laugh. “‘M just saying, It really moved me in a way art hasn’t in a while, so I’m excited to see what comes from it.”
“Mmm, me too,” you say, leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek. “You haven’t called me a ninny since we were, like, 12.”
“Felt right in the moment,” he says with a smirk and you laugh, shaking your head before reaching for the lotion on the dresser and he whines when you move out of his embrace.
“I’m almost done,” you say, “Just be two seconds.”
You lift your leg, resting it on the pouf beside you and you hear his sharp intake of breath when the sides of your robe fall back, revealing the skin of your naked thigh. You go to squirt the lotion onto your hands when his hand clasps around your wrist.
“Let me do that,” he says quietly, taking the lotion from your hands as he presses a slow, soft kiss to your cheek.
He sits down on the pouf, looking up at you with a warmth in his eyes, the promise of more. He taps his thigh, before curling his hand around your calf, bringing it up so your foot rests on his thigh, your knee in line with his shoulder. He smooths his hand over your skin, your breath catching in your throat as he leans in to press his lips to your thigh. He closes his eyes, taking a shuddering breath and losing himself in the moment, as he slowly drags his lips up along your skin.  He pulls back after pressing a kiss to your knee, squirting lotion on his hands before working them up your legs, rubbing it into the smooth skin, kneading the muscles. You have to reach out a hand to hold on to his shoulder for support as his hands move up under the robe, before sliding back out.
He places your foot on the floor and grabs the other, giving it the same treatment, taking his time to kiss up along your inner thigh before he works the lotion into your skin, fingers digging into the muscles until they loosen under his touch. You can’t take your eyes off him, feeling your breath quicken as he moves his hands over your skin, eyes not wavering from yours as he goes higher and higher, just shy of where you suddenly need him the most.
He smirks when you deflate slightly as he puts your other foot on the ground though he immediately makes up for it by wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you in between his legs, lips twitching at your sharp intake of breath. He rests his chin on your belly, looking up at you. You bring a hand up to drag through his hair and he leans into the touch, his hands holding you tight before loosening their hold, slowly moving up and down the robe, squeezing as he goes. He presses a kiss to the terry cloth fabric covering you before pulling at the tie, sighing happily when it comes undone, the robe falling open to reveal your naked body underneath.
He leans in slow, taking his time to kiss along your belly as his beard scratches your skin. His hand slides up to grope at your breast, arousal pooling in your stomach when you feel his tongue dart out against your stomach. He groans when your hand tightens in his hair as he switches hands, bringing one hand to grope at your bum while the other works over your other breast. Christ. You just stand there, practically panting as he makes you melt underneath his hands and mouth, taking his time to suck a mark by your ribs.
“Missed you so much this week,” he murmurs against your skin. “My hard working girl.”
He wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you down into this lap and burying his face into your neck, kissing a slow line up your neck.
“Smell so nice,” he murmurs, his hot breath making you squirm, your naked thighs sliding on his trousers. “Feel so soft and warm.”
His lips find their way up your jaw, nose brushing against your temple as he presses a slow kiss to your cheek, his hands slowly moving up and down your body, getting lower with each pass.
“Is this what the ballet inspired then?” you ask, breath catching when his hands knead your bum.
“No, this is all you, darling,” he murmurs against your cheek. “It’s always all you.”
His index finger draws back and forth on your jaw before turning your mouth towards his. He brushes his nose against yours, once, twice, wide grin breaking out when you let out a frustrated whine. His hand cups your face as he presses his lips to yours. It’s been mere minutes since he last kissed you, but it somehow feels like ages, both of you inhaling sharply at the contact before pressing in for more. Your hand sliding up into his hair as his mouth opens, his tongue rolling over yours in a smooth pass, making your thighs clench against his. Each kiss somehow deeper than the last, each of you pouring all you have into every kiss, every swipe of tongue, every lingering press of lips until you’re both gasping for breath.
“Need to touch you.” He pants against your cheek before taking your mouth again.
“Please - oh.” you gasp against his lips as his hands trail down your body, inching closer and closer to where you’re wet for him before he freezes, stopping suddenly.
“I - fuck. I’ve still got lotion on my hands.” he says breathlessly. “Trying to be sexy but don’t want to - like if I stick these inside you, I’m gonna give you an infection or summat.”
“Oh my god,” you laugh, feeling his stomach shake with laughter as he mutters apologies against your temple.
“Ruined the moment haven’t I?”
“A bit of a dip in the momentum, I’d say” you say and he sputters a laugh.
“Just let me - gonna wash my hands. Just don’t want to - feel like that would be itchy later on down the road.” he says and you groan before laughing again. “Sorry, darling - sorry  - just give me a mo.”
He kisses you quickly before sliding you off his lap and shuffling to the ensuite as you take a deep breath, the unexpected break making you aware of your racing heart, the ache between your thighs. You can hear the sink and his frantic scrubbing, shaking your head as you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, huffing a laugh as you take in the sight, the open robe, the messy hair, the sections of your neck where your skin’s been rubbed raw by his beard.
You hear the sink turn off, can hear his footsteps making their way back into the room and turn to face him. He stops in his tracks when you look at him, murmuring “wow” before shaking his head slightly and closing the distance between you, wrapping his arms around your waist once more.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to kill the vibe. But ‘m all clean now, ready to just -” he pauses, jabbing his two fingers in the air, his eyes twinkling with mirth, “get up inside you now.”
“Jesus Christ.” you honk out a laugh as he tightens his hold on you, giggling into your neck.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry” he apologizes through giggles. “Had y’ right where I wanted yeh a few minutes ago, let’s get back to that, yeah? Let me make you feel good.”
He leans in, lips brushing against yours as he mumbles “Back to our regularly scheduled programming” that has you laughing against his mouth.
“You are so stupid.” you say before he shushes you and quiets you with kisses, pressing his lips to yours firmly before sucking on your bottom lip. He dives back in for more, licking into your mouth slowly, letting you fall back into the rhythm you were in before only this time it's more charged somehow. He’s a man on a mission as he pulls away from your mouth, kissing down your neck, his tongue darting out for a taste.
“Yeah but y’ love me, right?” he murmurs, lips dragging against your skin. “Y’ think I’m funny? That I look nice?”
You hum noncommittally as he pulls you closer, though you find yourself taking in his outfit once more, eyes scanning him from top to bottom, snagging on the parts you like best. When you look back up at him, his eyes are dark, hungry, his jaw clenched as he brings a hand up to cup your face.
“Do y’ have any idea how you look at me when y’ like what I’m wearing?” he says, practically growling, his eyes lit up in the way they get when he’s got his mind set on something, a chill rushing down your spine at the thought of that something being you. “Not even sure if I can describe it…makes me feel like I’m on fire.”
He pinches your chin between his index finger and thumb, holding you in place as he claims your mouth, taking his time to kiss you so thoroughly your head spins.
“Sometimes when I’m, like, nervous about an outfit, I’ll picture your face seeing me in it,” he says when he pulls away. “The way you look at me - the way you devour me with your eyes. Makes me feel like I can do anything. Y’ make me feel so good about myself, the way you want me.”
“I do - I do want you” you say breathlessly, his confession making your heart race, the never ending pattern of his hands and mouth making arousal pool in your stomach. You’re needy and wet -
“Gonna show me?” he murmurs against your mouth, smirking when you nod. “Me too. Gonna show y’ how much I want you. How much I always want you. I always -”
You moan, cutting him off with a hard kiss, your tongue swiping over his in a way that has him groaning into your mouth. You pull him impossibly closer, your hands sliding up his blazer covered arms and over his shoulders, weaving your hand into his hair as you sink deeper into the kiss.
He pulls away slowly, panting as he kisses your jaw slowly, tongue darting out to taste your skin.
“Turn around,” he mutters lowly, spinning you in his hold until your back is against his chest, his hands splaying across your stomach. You look up to see that you’re both now facing the mirror.
Oh.
“Let’s get this off,” he murmurs, pulling the robe up and off your shoulders, letting it crumple in a pile at your feet. He pulls your body up against his as he hooks his chin over your shoulder, running his hands up and down your body. His eyes dragging up and down your reflection, feeling like molten lava as they take you in. “God, look at you.”
The momentary instinct to look away from the mirror, to hide from the reflection of your naked body is immediately overpowered by the sight you see, your naked body against him in his suit, his clutches turning white knuckled in desperation as he drags his mouth along your neck, mumbling praise into your skin without ever breaking eye contact with you. Where this should be a vulnerable situation, instead you feel dead sexy. Amost turned inside out with how much you want, how much you need him. You can feel how much he wants you, how he’s already hard for you, just from this. You can see it in his eyes, feel it in his touch. And fuck if it’s not the hottest thing you’ve ever experienced.
Your chest is heaving as he pauses his ministrations, resting his hands on your lower belly before bringing one up to clutch at your jaw, instantly covering your mouth with his. You wind your arm around his neck, hand grasping at the hair at the nape as he groans into your mouth, fingertips sinking into your skin.
He slides his hand down and you gasp against his mouth as you feel his fingers sliding through your folds.
“Fuck - feel that?” he groans as his fingers lightly circle your clit, your hips twitching towards his touch. “I know, I know. Gonna take care of you, baby.”
He kisses you deeply once more, before pulling away and guiding your head back to face the mirror.
“But I want you to watch.”
He hooks his chin over your shoulder, dark eyes never wavering from yours as he draws circles on your clit, kissing you on the shoulder when you moan.
“Yeah - let me hear you,” he groans as he continues to draw circles on your clit, increasing his pressure the more sounds you make.
Your stomach burns with arousal, feeling a deep ache in between your thighs as he teases his fingers over your entrance before bringing them back up to your clit. He does this over and over, smirking at you in the mirror before you finally break, a whimpered “please” that has him clenching his eyes shut for a moment. Seeing his reaction in the mirror makes you just about lose your mind. You slide your hand up his arm, clutching at the muscles that flex beneath your palm as the fire burns in your belly.
“‘M right here, baby. I got you.” he murmurs, resting his cheek against your temple, facial hair scratching into your skin as he dips his fingers lower, sliding two fingers into you with ease. “Fuck - all this for me?”
You nod, barely able to swallow back a moan as he works you over with his fingers, fucking them into you deeper before he reaches the spot that makes you cry out.
“Fuck, H -”
“That’s it,” he groans, his palm rubbing over your clit as he curls his fingers deeper. You’re practically soaking his hand but can’t bring yourself to care, not when he’s looking at you like that, not when he’s making you feel this good. You can feel your abdomen tighten, knees weakening as he brings you closer and closer to your high. He presses his palm down hard on one particular stroke that has you shutting your eyes and leaning your head back before he tuts.
“Eyes on me, baby. Want you to look at me when you come.” He smacks a kiss to your temple when you open your eyes. “‘S my girl.”
He doubles down on his efforts and what was once a slow burn is now a raging fire. Your eyes never waver from his as he murmurs endless streams of praise into your ear. You’ve never been so on display and you’ve never felt hotter as you hurtle closer and closer to the edge. You can barely make sense of the sounds you’re making, trying desperately to keep your eyes open, finding yourself transfixed by the way his brow is furrowed in concentration, his tongue darting out to lick his lips as his eyes never move from your reflection, sheer determination as he takes you apart.
Your chest heaves as you try to get a breath in but he’s overwhelming all your senses. You clench down on his fingers and it’s the guttural groan you get in response that sends your right over the edge with a curl of his wrist. You see stars as you come, hand sliding along his jacket sleeve as he mutters praise into your ear, working you through your high until you’re batting his hand away.
You watch breathlessly as he slides his fingers out and brings them up to his mouth, eyes locking with yours as he sucks, moaning at the taste. You spin in his hold, crashing your lips to his as you wrap your arms around your neck. His hands immediately adjust, big palms squeezing your bum as he kisses you deeper. You slide a hand up into his hair, pulling as he opens his mouth wider and you give as good as you’re getting. You pull your mouth away, moving to kiss along his jaw as you slide a hand down his front, fingers dancing over his pecs before sliding down his abs, smirking when the muscles jolt at your touch.
Without pulling your mouth away from his neck, you unbutton his trousers and slide your hand inside his briefs, sliding your hand along his length, gasping when you feel how hard he is for you. He grunts when you start to stroke him, fingers digging into your skin when you lean up to say in his ear, “Need this inside me.”
He moans, leaning down to capture your lips with his before walking you backward into the mirror, hand coming up to cradle your head from hitting it.
“Want it like this,” he mumbles against your mouth, hands coming to squeeze at your hips. “Want y’ against the mirror.”
He spins you around, your chest pressing against the cool glass as he takes a step back and pulls your hips flush against his so that only your hands touch the mirror, your back arching to put you back on complete display, giving you a vantage point of everything. His eyes sear through you as he drags them up and down your form, knuckles clutching and eyes darkening as he visually devours you.
He nudges your heels apart with his foot, spreading you wider as he pulls down his trousers and briefs, just enough to pull himself out. Making no moves to take off any of his clothes. The image alone sends a shiver down your spine.
You’re so close together, you can feel when he strokes himself a few times, knuckles dragging against your bum. He looks up at you, shaking his head almost in disbelief before leaning in to press kisses along your spine, palms dragging up and down your spine.
“Look so hot like this,” he mutters, bringing one hand to rest on your hip while the other wraps around his cock, guiding it towards your core. You both moan when he slides the head against your entrance. He taps it against your clit, hand tightening on your hip when you gasp, eyes locking with yours.  “Ready?”
“Need you.” you moan out and he pushes into you in one swoop, sliding his hand up your back to wrap around your shoulder, pulling you back as he thrusts forward.
“Christ,” he groans, taking it slow as he thrusts into you steadily, letting you get used to the stretch. “Feel so fucking good.”
You lock eyes in the mirror as you push your hips back, meeting his thrust halfway, brow furrowing as his mouth drops open from the feel. His grip on your shoulder tightens and suddenly, It’s hard and fast instantly, the sound of your skin slapping against each other reverberating through the room. You can’t take your eyes off his reflection. The clench of his jaw, the vein in his neck bulging as he pulls you back onto his cock over and over.
Your hands slip on the glass with the force of his thrusts, fire licking up your spine at the reflection in front of you. The way his muscles bulge under his clothes, the way his clothes look against your naked body. The way every clash of your hips punches out a sound from him that makes your stomach twist, how a particular circle of your hips has his eyes rolling into the back of his head.
“Prettiest thing I’ve seen all night. Love watching you. ” he grunts out, brushing your hair away from your sweaty nape, letting the cool air hit it before wrapping his palm around the back of your neck, fingers digging into your skin. “Gonna make me come. Y’close?”
You nod, words failing as each drive of his hips brings you racing to your finish for the second time tonight.
“Touch yourself for me, baby. C’mon.” he murmurs. “Wanna watch you come on my cock.”
No sooner are the words out of his mouth than you’re bringing your hand to your clit, rubbing fast circles that have you practically whimpering. He’s muttering encouragement as you struggle to keep your eyes open. His hand slipping from the back of your neck to the front. One squeeze is all it takes for you to come, feeling your walls flutter around his cock as you moan.
“So good for me. Such a good girl.” he grunts, squeezing his hand around your neck once more as he pistons his hips, before moaning lowly, coming hard as you feel him spill inside you, squeezing your neck as he collapses onto your back. He places on hand next to yours on the mirror for support, panting against your head as he catches his breath. His hand not on the wall dragging up and down your spine, pressing kisses to your shoulder as you both come down from your high.
He squeezes your shoulder before pulling out, tucking himself back into his pants as you push off the mirror, turning to face him. You smile at each other, huffing out laughs before he pulls you towards him, cupping a hand under your jaw as he captures your lips in a kiss, tongue smoothing over yours.
“That was fucking hot,” he murmurs before claiming your mouth again. You hum in agreement, sliding your hand up and into his hair, fingers looping through sweaty strands as you kiss each other deeper.
The kisses slow, eventually. Your racing hearts returning to their normal pulses, hands grazing each other’s bodies slower until you both pull back.
“Do you think that’s how everyone else ended their night at the ballet?” you ask and he barks out a loud laugh, eyes crinkling around the edges as he tilts his head back.
“Reckon so.” he says, pulling you in closer and pressing a kiss to your cheek. “I gotta take Sammy out.”
“I’ll come with you,” you say, heart flipping when his grin widens. “Just gimme a sec.”
You kiss him quickly before heading off into the bathroom, cleaning yourself up and catching a glimpse of your reflection in the mirror. How well fucked you look.
You head back out, grabbing an old shirt of his and gym shorts from the dresser, feeling his eyes on you as you quickly get dressed.
“You’re not going to change?” you ask, looking over at him as he shrugs.
“My girl likes my fit. Trying to see if I can get lucky twice in one night,” he says, grin widening as he holds open the door for you, hand on your lower back as you make your way down the hallway. He wraps his arm around your waist, slipping his hand up under your t-shirt, splaying his hand against your belly.
And yeah, he probably will.

TIG HCSSSSS
hiii, this is my first hc post and im still a bit new to the all so pls ignore it if it is bad. some amazing tig hc creators are @x-liv25-jamieswife and @ilyiwdtpyiwmyhmtkys and i took some inspiration from them so pls check them out.
Jameson is a huge theatre nerd and he converted Avery so now they listen/watch/go to musicals together
they sing and quote them so often, everyone gets SOOOO annoyed
for Halloween, they went as pre say no to this Hamilton and Elliza one year and as jd and veronica another year and everyone LOST IT
Jameson even surprised her with Hamilton tickets but she had to solve a riddle to see where they were going
the riddle was a single letter that just said “My Dearest, Avery” and nothing else (iykyk)
Grayson has secretly watched every episode of Dance Moms and even memorized some of the dances
Avery one time did a spicy dance on TikTok and Jameson absolutely LOST HIS MIND
Alisa made her take the video down, because she said it was too “inappropriate” (even though it wasn’t even as bad as half of the other dances out there)
Jameson managed to save it beforehand and still has it to this day
Xander has read Avery’s diary and saw some THINGS things she wrote (especially about jamie (iykyk)) and he almost died but she just laughed it off
Libby often says stuff that sounds really dirty but she doesn’t mean it that way and gets very confused why everyone started laughing at what she was saying
Jameson played/plays hockey
Nash and Avery go on little outings every once and a while just for some bonding time (and a bit of lovingly trash talking Jamie)
Thea has MAD rbf like its not even ok
Rebecca can play guitar and sing and it sounds so soothing
Oren ugly cried at Avery and Jameson’s wedding
Jamie absolutely adores matching couples shirts but Avery hates them with a passion but she wears them sometimes to make him happy
Grayson loves picking flowers
Max and Avery one time pretended they were receiving awards (grammy’s, oscar’s, etc.) with the many awards the Hawthorne boys won (before javery was official) and Jameson was in a secret passage the whole time watching and they heard him giggling so she opened the passage to see him standing there and she just went beet red
he thought it was adorable and it just made him like her even more (can someone pls write a fic about this pls)
Nash is/was a barrel racer
Xander has the absolute dirtiest mind ever and can make anything he/you say sound dirty (a close second is Jameson)
but Xander is so clueless he sometimes says something that sounds so dirty and he doesn’t even realize
Max had to run a mile for school and almost died
Avery one time broke her arm while playing badminton (don’t ask me how but i can’t talk because i would too)
Jameson loves roller coasters but gets motion sick so he will ride the most intense roller coaster and immediately throw up after
Max and Avery threaten each other with telling embarrassing things they have done in the past to the others
Nash and Libby tease Avery and Jameson SO MUCH
they are always saying things like “leave some room for Jesus” and “get a room” when they show the slightest affection (out of love)
sometimes Nash will even come out of nowhere when they are watching a movie and say something like “what are we watching?” and just sit in the middle of them
Avery loved up cycling old and vintage thinga and Jameson will help
Rebecca loves to craft because it helps her relax
she even taught Libby how to crochet
after seeing the effects, no one lets Gigi have coffee
even though Savanna is cold at first, she really opens up to the group and they all love her though she thought they wouldn’t (ofcc)
Grayson and Avery once made a power point about skincare for Jamie after learning he just washes his face with body soap and cold water (*shutters*)
Avery calls Xander Xanny Poo or just Pookie but never his real name
when they were still in school, Xander made Avery a fake prom-posal after her, Xander, and Jamie had a conversation about how cringy they were
She almost murders him on the spot
Avery once threatened to slap Jameson because he was being annoyed and he said “is that a threat, or a promise? and she almost passed out
after that, Xander called Ave a sadist and Jamie a masochist for a month and a half
Grayson and Avery watch Bridgeton together
when he was younger, Jameson was absolutely OBSESSED with Gravity Falls, he would theorize about it and try to solve the mysteries (which he got most of them right)
he has the journal #3 with the invisible ink on his book shelf to this day
Jameson and Avery are always playing game pigeon
Avery and Libby bought dress-up dresses and have tea parties (sometimes Max joins)
Jameson loves to rub it in his brothers (especially Gray’s) faces that he is technically royalty
I hope you like this!!! please let me know how i can improve. all constructive criticism is highly appreciated and welcome. please give me suggestions on what i can do next. thank you so much!

so i'm reading The Invisible Life by Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab and it got me thinking about Simon and Johnny in that scenario.
at this point, you're centuries old, having made that pact with the dark gods a long time ago; all to escape a life that would've killed you. maybe not physically, you would've still been breathing but every day would've filled with agony, with the desperate wish to cease to exist, just so you could finally get a break.
the deal you made had saved you from that but the price you paid, now after having lived it for so long, almost didn't seem worth it. after all, what is a life if you cannot be remembered, if people forget the moment you're out of their sight, incapable of writing down the final letters of your name before the first ones were already disappearing, your name never to be spoken out loud, forever imprisoned within yourself.
you cross paths with Simon and Johnny because of the latter, an aspiring artist, and the loophole you've found yourself. You might never have a spotlight on you, but you could exist in a particular set of brushstrokes, exist as the missing notes to a masterpiece, exist as the muse of creative genius.
you knew Johnny would become big, had all the telltale signs of having his name spoken with all the other great minds. it just so happened that whenever you met up with him, a new name and reminder on how you met ready for him, Simon was also always there.
not that you minded it. Johnny was loud, filled with all the excitements life had to offer, it filled his veins and came as easy as breathing to him; like a sun you couldn't seem enough of after your lifetimes of darkness.
Simon was much quieter, didn't feel the need to fill silence unnecessarily but when he spoke his mind you were hanging onto every word he said; like the first rain after a drought, nourishing the wilted parts within you because as long as they both remembered you, you felt seen.
if you allowed yourself to dream, you could imagine being with one of them, maybe even both of them, but you knew it was a race against time. sooner or later, you'd be forgotten. your touches washed off their skins, your presence a phantom memory until even that would disappear into smoke as the hours ticked by.
you had made your peace with it.
so why had you been cornered by both of them in this bar, Johnny's hand gripping your wrist too tightly as they both watched you; Johnny with a haunted but desperate look in his eyes, mouth open to beg for something he failed to vocalize; Simon seemed just furious, as if you were a threat he had no clue how to defeat when he spoke, surprising not just you but also himself.
"We know you..."
It was unsure, more like a question, but seeing them both, seeing their confusion and the toll it's taking on them, you knew it to be true. Somehow they had managed to not fall victim to your curse.
They remembered you.

Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?
Tumblr media
Dbf Joel Miller x fem reader (previous) No apocalypse AU
Spencer Reid x reader
Based on Taylor Swifts song, who’s afraid of little old me.
Warnings- Angst! Lots of angst, reader has a breakdown. Arguments, Joel’s a dick!, cuss words, supportive parents, Spencer’s a sweetheart as always, mentions of infidelity, heartbreak, some suggestive thoughts, 18+, if you like a Dbf Joel happy ending don’t read this! Happy ending with Spencer though.
So this idea just kinda popped into my head after listening to the song over and over, so at 2am I hashed this out (probably terribly proof read), also I am nearly finished with Pretty little letters 2, which will be up in a few days :).
We’ve all had that one ex who lead us to temporary insanity during the break up. 💔
Word count- 3.4K
The scandal was contained
The bullet had just grazed
At all costs, keep your good name
You don't get to tell me you feel bad
… Is it a wonder I broke? Let's hear one more joke
Then we could all just laugh until I cry
… So I leap from the gallows and I levitate down your street
Crash the party like a record scratch as I scream
"Who's afraid of little old me?"
I was tame, I was gentle 'til the circus life made me mean
"Don't you worry, folks, we took out all her teeth"
Who's afraid of little old me?
Well, you should be
… You should be
(You should be) You should be
'Cause you lured me (you should be)
And you hurt me (you should be)
And you taught me
________________________________________
Numbness, the feeling you felt right now. He was explaining to you why it had to be this way, why he had to end everything you had built together. Your dads best friend, that’s who you’d fallen for, like an idiot you allowed yourself to be swept off your feet by this man. He initiated this, started this crazy love affair, yes you’d flirted with him but never in your wildest dreams did you think anyone would act on anything.
You’d told him as much when this first started, said this wasn’t a good idea, that you’d get caught, someone would end up hurt, or he’d lose his 11 year friendship with your dad. He assured you that you’d figure it out together, that he wanted you and he wasn’t going to let you go now he finally had you. He’d broken every promise.
Joel Miller, a man who was supposed to have honour, be someone you could trust in, he’d wrecked it all. “So that’s it? It’s over? You’re ending this now? After you promised we could work through anything?” You demanded.
“Yeah darlin, I’m sorry but it’s for the best, your dad is getting suspicious, and people in the community saw us together, we can’t keep givin’ them the grabbing somethin’ for your father crap y/n! This needs to end, I shouldn’t have let it go this far” Joel declares.
“Or we could just tell them we are together? That we care about each other?” You ask.
“No” he deadpans, “This ends now, I’m sorry y/n” then he walks away, leaving you to pick up the pieces of your shattered heart.
________________________________________
Days, you sat there in your window seat staring out into space, you went through everything over and over in your head, where you’d gone wrong, what had you done to cause him to break things off? He promised! Promised you’d get through it all, that you’d sort things out, and you believed him! How naive were you? You’d given yourself to him completely.
You felt ashamed, how did you let this happen? Surely you knew it could only lead to heartbreak. Memories of heated nights fill your mind, tender touches, deep kisses while he buried himself inside you. Tears sting your eyes once more, before you choked on full blown sobs. Burying your face into your hoodie sleeves you scream out in tearful frustration.
A week passes by in a blur, you decide to pull yourself out of this zombie state, deciding to go to the community BBQ this evening, you’d see him there and if you act like maybe nothings bothered you, he’d see his mistake and beg for you back? Or you’d at least get some closure.
You showered, put on your best little black sundress and gave yourself some Smokey eyes to complete your look. Heading down the stairs your dad seemed shocked to see that you were coming, “Hey kiddo! I didn’t think you’d be up for tonight, with how sad you’ve been. You ready to tell me what’s going on now?” He asks, “Boy trouble dad, I’ll be ok” you respond.
He pulls you into a tight dad hug, kissing the top of your head. “Well you know I’m always here for you kiddo right?” He asks, “Yeah dad I know, I’m fine I promise.” You try to assure him “Ok, come on then” he responds before motioning you out the door.
The BBQ was your typical neighbourhood party, people already drunk singing country anthems at the top of their lungs, kids running riot, their mothers trying to keep up. But there in the corner talking to his brother Tommy stood Joel, looking as handsome as ever as he was animatedly explaining something. You make your way over to him but stop dead in your tracks, his ex Tess walks out of the community hall and straight into Joel’s arms, he gives her a smile wrapping his arm around her shoulders, before continuing his story with Tommy.
You stood in absolute shock, it’s been 10 days! Just 10 mere days since he broke things off with you! The audacity! Was this already going on when you were together? You must have caught his attention in your current state, because he was now walking towards you, ‘fuck this!’ You think, before you turn around and run for the exit, shoving anyone in your way aside. “Y/N!” You heard Joel shout, “Y/N wait! Please let me explain” he continues, but all you can do is run! And before you know it you’d ran 6 streets over to your front door.
You slam the door closed behind you locking it and falling to the floor, as sobs wrecked through you, how could he do this? Was it all a lie?. You fell into your bed eventually, the tears wearing you out into a deep sleep.
________________________________________
You avoided him for days, he’d tried coming over several times while your dad was at work. You ignored every knock, every call, he’d even sent you a ton of messages.
Hey y/n
Please answer, we need to talk about this please!
Hey again
Look please I need to explain it all, please don’t tell your dad everything in spite. I know this has probably upset you, but I can’t have my name dragged through the mud here. I have a family, Sarah is your age, she can’t find out please.
And so they went on, you’d gone from sad to angry now, you allowed the burning embers of rage overtake you. How dare he! He should have thought of that before he started this, he doesn’t get to keep his good name, tell you he feels bad but to get on with it. No this wasn’t going to go down this way!
4th July celebrations were in progress, there was to be a whole day of it. Fireworks on the green, a community party, alcohol and EVERYONE would be there. It’s been two weeks since the BBQ, two weeks you’d ignored Joel and gathered up all your anger, tonight was the night you’d release it. To think you used to be so tame, so gentle and kind, he’d stomped it all out of you, you deserved closure. Was it closure though you seeked? Or was it revenge.
As you arrived at the party the sun was beginning to set, bright colours painting the sky. All eyes watched you as you walk through the crowds, most likely still wondering about your fast exit last time, or the determined look on your face making them all nervous. You make your way over to the bar ordering two whiskeys, you promptly neck one, letting the amber liquid burn your throat, before taking the other with you. Joel spots you instantly, leaving Tess’s side to come talk to you, panic written all over his face.
“Y/N hey, can we talk please? I need to explain things and then we can put this all behind us” Joel asks, you let out a humorous laugh “Put this behind us? You move on in mere days, and I’m to get over it? Did it begin before we ended?” You demand, “What! No! I bumped into her a couple of days after our conversation, look let’s move somewhere where less public people are watching” he offers.
“Ha! Why? Are you afraid of little old me?” You goad, while he stutters at your outspoken comment you declare,
“You should be”.
“What, y/n no come on we can sort it” he pleads, you hadn’t noticed your dad watching your exchange with worried eyes, nor had you seen him make his way over to you both “Hey guys is everything ok here?” Your dad asks, “Well maybe you should ask Joel that, how about it Joel? Is everything ok?” You sneer, “Buddy?” Your dad asks him, “Yeah everything’s fine, isn’t it y/n?” He asks imploring you to see reason.
“No, no it’s not, I’m sorry what did you think was going to happen Joel? I said at the start we shouldn’t have began this, you told me we’d sort through it. You made me fall for you, told me you fell for me too, then when things got hard you dumped me, moved on to her two days later!” You shout pointing at Tess, everyone was now watching you, hearing the raised voices. “Joel, please tell me this isn’t true” your dad implores, “I’m so sorry Dave, I’m so sorry, it just happened I never meant for it to go this far” Joel begs, a loud smack echos through the air, gasps heard from everyone as your dads fist connects with Joel’s jaw.
Tess comes running over now, and your dads loosing it with Joel “How could you! My daughter Joel! She’s the same age as Sarah!”
“I know buddy I know, I have no excuse, I ended things when I realised what I’d done, I didn’t mean to hurt her” Joel answers, “She’s only 20 Joel! You’re 48! Did you really think her emotionally mature enough to consent and then deal with the break up?” your dad bellows. Tess is the one standing in shock now, clearly she had no clue about you at all. “Well I didn’t think she’d act this crazy no!” Joel shouts, this time it’s your fist that connects with Joel’s face, his nose lets out a loud crack as your hand makes contact.
“Fuck you Joel! Never come near me again! Never call or message, stay the hell out of mine and my dads lives!” You state, “Dad can we go please?” You whimper “Yeah, of course darlin, come on let’s get out of here”. You turn to the crowd who are all still silent, staring at you in shock “What!” You shout, anger still filling you, your dad ushers you away from the crowds and into the car.
Once you’d arrived home your dad finally spoke to you, “Why didn’t you tell me?” Tears start falling again, “I thought he loved me dad, I though we’d work it out, then eventually tell you. I’m such an idiot!” You cry, he pulls you in tight “No sweetheart you’re not, you’re not. We will get though this, I’m here for you”.
________________________________________
That was six years ago now, you’d packed up and moved up north back in with your mother, both you and your dad decided it was for the best. He didn’t want to see you go, but you weren’t emotionally stable at that point and you needed to get away from the ‘Situation’.
So after a lot of therapy, comfort from your mum and your dad, some self reflection and some determination, you graduated medical school with honours. You’d completely turned your life around, joined an amazing team at the BAU (behavioural analysis unit) as their resident pathologist.
Which is where you met a wonderful man called Spencer Reid. He was everything you needed in a partner, he was kind, sweet, attentive and he showed you off as his proudly.
You loved this man immensely, you’d been completely honest about your past, about Joel, and your break down. He’d in turn told you about his mum, all her issues, and his sad childhood. He also told you about his addiction that he’s overcome, you became each others rocks, one another’s biggest supporters, but most of all you made the other whole again.
Your parents loved Spencer, they disagreed with most things, but they both agreed that Spencer was perfect for you, he brought out the best in you and they were so happy that you were happy.
Walking into your shared apartment after a long day at comic con, you took off your matching Dr Who scarfs and cuddled up on the couch. “That was great fun! We should make this an annual thing!” You declare, “Yeah absolutely, did you know that the first comic con began in 1970 when a small group of comic book, movie, and science fiction fans from San Diego put on an event, only 300 people attended! And since then, Comic-Cons grown into the global phenomenon that it is today” Spencer explained, you smiled along loving his info dumping. He always gets so excited, and you love watching his face light up as he tells you whatever fact is on his mind.
“That’s so interesting! Well I thank that group of fans then, because that was super fun!” You reply, Spencer smiles at you before pulling you into a sweet kiss. “Have you decided what you want to do this weekend? Did you want to go?” He asks, tentatively moving a strand of hair from your face. “I don’t know, it’s hard because Mrs Harris has been next door to me and my dad since forever, it’s her 80th birthday party and I should go. But part of me still worries about seeing him there” you explain.
“I know, and I understand. But I will be there with you the whole time holding your hand.” He offers, bringing your hand up to his lips, pressing a loving kiss to your palm. “Yeah, ok we will go, but if I get uncomfortable at any point….” “Then we will leave” he states, you nod “Ok”.
________________________________________
Arriving back in Austen Texas was nerve wrecking, your leg shakes in the cab back to your dads place. Spencer places his hand on your thigh to try and steady its shaking, “Hey, look at me baby, it’s going to be ok! You have me and your dad and we aren’t going to let anyone be mean to you” Spencer assures. Your sweet sweet man, if only it was that simple, you place your hand over his and give it a little squeeze, your way of saying I’m ok.
As you exit the car you take in the house you’d always called home, not much had changed. There was a new lick of paint on the exterior, some new plants out front, but all in all it was the same. You sigh, it was nice to be home again, for the last six years your dad had come to Virgina to see you, so you didn’t have any unwanted feelings arise, but now it was time. Time to put everything behind you, to get real closure and relinquish any power he still has over you.
The front door opens abruptly startling you, “There she is!!! My baby girl is home” your dad gushes as he pulls you into a big bear hug, “It’s great to see you again too Spencer” he adds. “Nice to see you again too sir” Spencer replies, “Please you don’t need to use sir it makes me feel old as hell” your dad laughs, causing Spencer to bashfully nod. “It’s great to see you dad, six months has been too long!” You admit, “It sure is baby girl! Ok let’s get you both settled in before the big event this evening” your dad says, grabbing your bag and heading inside. He was still a little worried about how you were going to get through today, even though you had assured him several times you were ok, that you needed to do this in order to fully move on from the situation.
Dressed up that evening you stared at yourself in your old bedroom mirror, flashbacks of this very same moment six years ago go through your mind, only this time you have Spencer holding your hand, the love of your life, your best friend. Also this time your dad knew what was going on, you had love and support, this time was different.
“You look beautiful” Spencer smiled, “I’m so lucky to call you as mine” he admits pulling you against him, hands cupping your face as his lips meet yours in a loving kiss. You shake your head, “No it’s me that’s lucky, because I have you” you whisper against his jaw, nuzzling your nose against his neck, letting his scent comfort you. “Come on then, let’s get this over with” you declare, “Ok baby, remember what we said?” He asks, “Yup three squeezes to your hand and we will leave right away” you recite, he nods at you guiding you out the room and down the stairs.
You arrive at the community centre and take it all in, the last time you were here your heart broke, but holding Spencer’s hand you actually felt ok, there were fairy lights webbed above your head, twinkling in the night air, lighting up the courtyard. Mrs Harris stood by food table helping herself to all the sweet treats, you huff a small laugh under your breath, some things never change. Walking up to her you see her face light up “y/n! It’s so good to see you dear, it’s been years! How are you? And who is this handsome young man?” She asks, causing Spencer to go a bright shade of pink, “Mrs Harris! Happy Birthday!” You say as you give her a warm hug, “This here is my boyfriend Spencer, we met at work. And yeah I’m good thank you! Life is really good actually” you smile.
“That’s great my dear, you deserve all the happiness you get, I hear you’re a Doctor now! What an achievement, your dad must be so proud!” She gushes, “Yeah bless him, I work for the FBI now as their pathologist” you explain, “Wow, that’s impressive, well done you! Well make sure you come say goodbye before you leave dear, maybe pop over mine for some tea too?” She asks, “Yeah I’d love that” you confirm.
Walking off you smile at Spencer, you hadn’t even noticed Joel yet, but he heard and witnessed the whole conversation, he’d heard you went to med school but didn’t know you had actually become a Doctor, nor that you had joined the FBI. That’s probably due to the loss of friendship with your father, he watched you with sad eyes, you hadn’t even noticed him yet, so swept up with this new love of yours.
You on the other hand had taken to the dance floor with Spencer, giggling as he twirled you around and pulled you in close. What had you done to deserve this wonderful sunshine of a man, he brightens up every dark corner of your mind, guiding you through and back into the light. You look over his shoulder and your eyes meet with Joel’s, you offer him a nod, one to say hey, and it’s ok I’m over it, I’ve moved on. This causes a searing pain in his chest, he hadn’t moved on, Tess left him that night after the truth came out. He’d realised he did still have feelings for you, he just got in his head and ran off like a scared little boy. A decision he bitterly regrets, looking at you now you’d truly gown up into a mature, brilliant and beautiful woman, despite the pain he’d caused you, you’d blossomed into a force to be reckoned with, a Doctor and an FBI agent.
You however felt closure, real closure this time, one that only develops after learning to love yourself, from realising you are enough and you can do anything you put your mind too, having a loving supportive partner helps too. You smile up at Spencer, resting your forehead against his, life has a funny way of working itself out to be the way it was always meant to be.

Chokehold: Pt. VII
Vessel x Reader x Noah Sebastian
Word Count: 2.8k
Content warning: drinking, tense situations, brief mention of intense situation
—————————
The fire crackled to your right as you watched Vessel carefully unwrap his last present from you. It was the smallest out of the bunch you got for him, each gift earned some protest from him as he realized you’d gone out while you were bored and spent maybe a little too much on his presents.
But did you really care? No.
Not when he did the exact same thing and overwhelmed you with presents as well.
The pile was off to your side and was almost as big as his, but you did have two presents left to unwrap to decide who was more overwhelming.
You had no control over your gift giving especially for Christmas. Each year you would blow so much money on gifts for your parents and friends that sometimes they’d get mad and threaten to take away your credit card. But that never stopped you.
His eyes lit up when he opened the small box that revealed a beautiful silver chain necklace. It was simple, but he loved simpler things. “This is so nice, Y/N.” He says as he examines the necklace.
“The shop owner said if you need any adjustments you can take it back and she’ll fix it for free.” You explained as he moved to test the length of it around his neck.
“You know what,” he says as he finished adjusting it and felt where it rested just at his collarbones. “I think this is good. What do you think?” You stared at him, noticing the necklace but becoming distracted by how good he looks, like really good. The warm light of the fire danced across his skin, the shadows enhancing his already sharp features and making his eyes seem even more blue. He was devastatingly beautiful.
“Earth to Y/N, hello?” He waved his hand in front of you and you blinked, realizing you had spaced out. “Where did you go?” He laughed.
“Was busy admiring you.” You give him a crooked smile as his eyes glimmer at your words.
He leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on your lips. “Now hurry up, open your last two so we can get to IV’s for his Christmas dinner.” You laughed at the slight worry wavering in his voice as he glanced at the time. Vessel did not like to be late to things, especially dinners where he was expected to help cook.
You delicately unlaced the ribbon that he’d tied on this present and tore away the wrapping paper. A gasp was the only way you could respond as you pulled out a book of all of Edgar Allen Poe’s greatest works, in fact this was the same book you grew up with back home.
“I-” you glanced at him and went back to the book. “How?” You frantically opened the book to the first page where that little note you loved so much still remained:
To our little love, the one we know will make such a big impact on the world some day. Our beautiful Y/N.
Love, Mommy and Daddy
A tear threatened to spill and drip onto the page as you smiled. “I may or may not have stolen your mum’s number from your phone and asked her if they still had it. It took her a little bit to find it, but when she did I had her ship it to II’s house to make sure you didn't find it.”
“I thought after all these years it was gone. I didn’t know they still had it.” You whispered as your fingers traced the book that began your love for reading. The poems in here were ones that you read at least one hundred times each, never being able to get enough of them. “Thank you, Ves.” You leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek, admiring the book once again before moving to the last present.
It was small and had the tiniest little bow on the top of it. You ripped the paper off and curiosity rippled through you as you stared at the small box. Jewelry box.
A smile tugged at your lips. “Did we have the same idea?”
“Open it to find out.” He watched patiently as you opened the box, revealing a beautiful bracelet that had a singular charm with the letter “V” on it.
“Ves..” Your words were so much as a gasp as you admired it. You went to clasp it around your wrist and it was the perfect fit, earning a nod of approval from Vessel. “I love it.”
He leans forward and pulls you effortlessly into his lap, wrapping his arms around your waist so his body is pressed against yours. You could not help but push the strands of hair that had fallen onto his face and covered his eyes. All you wanted to see were those damn eyes.
“Y/N?” He asked, his eyes sparkling with the firelight. You hummed a response. “I love you.”
You sat upright as the words processed in your head. “Y-You do?”
“Mmhm.” His fingers traced delicately along your back, mapping out figure 8s along the fabric of your sweater. “I think I knew it since that night at the club. Watching you dance… you were just so free and I found myself mesmerized by your smile. It lit up the entire room and I knew at that point I would do everything in my power for you to always have a smile on your face.”
A stray tear dropped from your eyes as the emotions ran rampant in your mind. You’d never seen such sincerity in his eyes before, the look that made you know he wasn’t bullshitting you and probably never will. You’ve known it for so long now but yet never had the proof you needed.
He gently wiped the tear away with his thumb. “You okay?”
“Mmhm.” You took a deep breath to control the tears that wanted to flow down your cheeks, the pressure of his hand against your lower back helping to distract you from the feeling. “This is just so new to me, that’s all.”
“What? What I just said?”
“Yeah…” you let out a shaky breath. “Nobody has ever confessed their love for me like that.” Your hands rested on his chest, the thumping of his heart grew stronger as the seconds ticked by. So many things you wanted to say but you just didn’t know how.
“Y/N.” His voice was soft, so soft you almost didn’t hear it above the crackling flames beside you. “Y/N…” He hooked his fingers beneath your chin and lifted it so your eyes were focused on his. “Don’t be pressured to tell me how you feel. I can see the wheels turning in your head.”
You let out a sigh and cupped his cheek with your hand. “I already know how I feel about you, Ves. I just don’t know how to say it.” He pushed his cheek more onto your palm and you embraced the warmth that circled through you.
“You could just show me rather than telling me.” His eyes lowered and focused on your lips, you smiled and closed the space between the two of you. It was gentle and warm as he kept one hand pressed against your back and the other holding the nape of your neck to deepen the kiss.
Your hands traveled along the hard grooves of his torso beneath his shirt, dragging the fabric up with your palms and pulling it off his body. He pushed himself off the floor and began adjusting the two of you to where you were laying on the floor, his body pressed to yours as you kissed.
His fingers were just hooking around the button of your jeans when his phone began to ring, sending you both jumping out of your skin at the sudden noise. You glanced at one another, breathless from the kisses that were being shared as he reached for his phone beside him. His brows furrowed as he read the caller ID and answered.
“What do you want?… No we were not-… Okay shut up III, I don’t need your commentary right now… Yes, yes we will be there Jesus Christ man.” Vessel sighed deeply after he hung up the call and tossed his phone onto the couch. You sat there with an amused expression on your face as he pushed his hair from his face.
“Did you forget about the dinner we have tonight? The one you were just rushing me ten minutes ago for?” You couldn’t help the smirk that was plastered on your face as he glared at you. You pushed yourself off the floor and offered a hand to him. “Just look on the bright side, Ves.” He grabbed your hand as he got off the floor. “We can just finish what we started later.” With a wink and a gentle pat on his chest you walked to where the bag of presents for all your friends were and grabbed your coat, watching as Vessel followed you after putting his shirt back on.
The drive to IV’s wasn’t long, especially at this time of day when most people were already at their destinations for the holiday. He wasn’t having many people over for dinner; just the band, you and some crew members who decided to stop by. The house wasn’t crowded and by the time you got settled in, the good wine had been brought out and the board games were being played.
You were tucked into the corner of the couch as you watched an intense uno match between II, III and Sam, the drum tech for II. Your cheeks were red from how hard you laughed every time III got hit with a “+4” card, his shock and muttering of many swear words is what got you each time.
You weren’t surprised when IV dragged Vessel into the kitchen when you both arrived, talking about how he had made the ham marinade exactly how the recipe called for but something was off… or whatever. When you walked in, III found you with a wine glass in his hand just for you and pulled you off to where the board games had been put. And now you were here, watching as Sam triumphantly won that round.
“I need another drink.” III said as he pushed himself off the couch and marched to the bar cart IV had set up.
“Someone’s a sore loser…” Sam laughed as he reshuffled the cards, earning a nod of agreement from II.
“I’m gonna get another one too. You boys want anything?” They both said no as you stood and walked to where III stood, pouring himself a glass of whiskey. “Not a fan of uno are you?”
He glanced over his shoulder to his former opponents. “Not when they’re playing against me.” You chuckled as you peered at the options on the cart, finally deciding to make yourself a simple vodka cran. “So… how are things with you and Mr. Muscles?” You stopped dead at the nickname and began pouring again as you laughed it off.
“We’re good.” Taking a sip to make sure you got the proportions of your drink just how you like it. “Why do you ask?”
III takes a long sip of his drink and glances around the room before settling his sight back on you. “Because I know how he feels about you. I mean, we all do, he’s good at spilling everything when he’s got a little alcohol in him. I’m only asking you how things are because I’m already aware of his perspective.”
“I feel like you’re interrogating me.”
“Do I need to be?” You felt the seriousness in his voice hit you like a brick, the look in his eyes gave it away as well.
You cocked your brow at him. “What are you implying, III?” He stared down at you and then glanced to the left where there was a clear view of Vessel and IV working in the kitchen, Ves laughing at something the other said while his hands worked on slicing the ham.
“I’m not implying anything, Y/N. I’m just looking out for my friend.” He paused and took another glance before leaning down so he was level with your ear, his voice a mere whisper. “And I remember the last time he’d felt the same way he does for you. The phone call I received was one that still haunts me to this day, so all I ask is for your intentions to be good ones.” He leaned back and gave you a small cheer with his drink, then walked back to where II and Sam still sat.
His words stunned you, leaving your feet glued to the floor as you stared at his back that faced you. He laughed at something II said and jokingly pushed the smaller man over.
Your attention was pulled away when IV came out from the kitchen to announce that dinner was served. Everyone muttered “finally” and filed into the dining room, where the aromas of food were overwhelmingly delicious. Vessel waved you over towards where he sat, pulling the chair out for you and pushing it in when you sat. You glanced to the right as II took the spot next to you, smiling as he patted your head as a way of saying hello.
IV gave a small toast to everyone, not really saying anything important, just a thanks to all of us being here and a major thanks to Vessel for saving his ass with dinner. He sat down and motioned for everyone to eat, which had already begun since we were all starving.
Dinner was full of laughter and stupid stories from the tour, which you listened to the ones involving Vessel thoroughly so you could tease him about it later. The party moved back into the front room where presents were stacked next to their rightful receiver. Somehow you ended up with a lot more gifts than you expected, quickly learning that II’s got the same spending issue as you do when it comes to Christmas.
It was fun to watch everyone’s reactions to each and every gift, especially when III had been chosen to receive the gag gift this year and blushed immensely when he pulled out a box for a blowup girlfriend.
After the conversation you and III had, it felt a little tense between the two of you and all you wanted was to be able to speak with him more clearly, rather than when the both of you had alcohol in your systems. And everything felt worse when he abruptly left before you could mention you'd like to speak about it again.
Eventually Vessel pulled you out of the house, literally having to drag you out because all you wanted to do was do your tenth round of Just Dance 2 with IV and not go home.
The drive home was filled with the two of you singing along to Christmas songs on the radio. Vessel sang beautifully while you screamed along like a banshee to each song, earning a laugh from him here and there. Then came the struggle of him attempting to lug your drunk ass out of the car and back into the house, making sure you didn't slip on any ice on the pathway.
As he has done a few times before, he carried you up the stairs to your bedroom and settled you down on the bed so he could remove the makeup from your face and help you change into something more comfortable.
Sleep was busy luring you in as Vessel finally turned off one of the lamps and climbed into bed next to you, his strong arms wrapping around you and pulling you to his chest. The steady rise and fall of his chest against your cheek was already making your inevitable sleep hard to fight off, but a small part of you still felt extremely restless. You knew exactly what it was and why it was leaving you in this position, you knew you had to speak about it with someone at some point.
You slowly moved to look at Vessel’s face. His eyes were shut tight and you could tell he’d already fallen asleep. Last thing you wanted to do was wake him up and drunkenly ramble about your interaction with III earlier. So, you snuggled back in against his chest and pressed a gentle kiss to his collarbone before closing your eyes and letting sleep sweep you away.

[Dr. Ratio: The esteemed University of Veritas Prime has once again commenced its enrollment proceedings. Do you, perchance, harbor aspirations for further refinements and scholarly pursuits?]
Tumblr media
i was so confused but also immediate 'NOOO' that it took me a few minutes to realize that this wasnt gibberish and i could actually understand what he was saying
[Dr. Ratio: Interstellar voyages necessitate a wealth of erudition, lest one may very well perish amidst perils unknown.]
Tumblr media
and then immediately gets hit with words i dont know
[Dr. Ratio: Are you privy to the demarcation between philosophy and science?]
[Dr. Ratio: I would not recommend this discipline to neophytes.]

[Trailblazer: Understood.
Dr Ratio: You may need more time for careful consideration.
Beware of those who only extol the virtues of an academic discipline without candidly acknowledging its challenges.
I have met numerous students brimming with enthusiasm, only to witness their eventual departure, ensconced in disillusionment and despondency.
Hence, any academic decision should be approached with utmost caution.
Though it may sound harsh, not everyone is suited for the scholarly pursuit.]

Blossoming in Winter - Chapter Five || Read on AO3
For the amazing @witchlingsandwyverns - hopefully instead of late it is just the gift that keeps on giving! ❤️ I have had an amazing time writing this for you and getting to know you in the process. I hope that you like it as it was written with love!
Thanks to @witch-and-her-witcher @temperedink and @rosanna-writer for the beta reads and encouragement!
Summary:
“I do not think the Mother would have made us together only to tear us apart so soon after meeting. I do not think we two were sent here to wait at the end of things for nothing.”
Everything is on the line - there is nothing Rhysand wouldn't risk now, nothing he wouldn't lie freely at her feet. After all, what was the point of all that power, if he couldn't save his mate?
Read on AO3 and find a snippet under the cut!
Prince Rhysand had never been good at waiting.
Azriel could perch like a gargoyle on his missions, and even Cassian knew how to dig into a long camp with the soldiers, but Rhysand had always been restless.
A spoiled prince, some might say.
So to wait and do nothing but sit in bed and lurk at the edges of Feyre’s mind was slowly driving him insane.
She wouldn’t speak with him. He found her no more wandering the balconies or climbing to the gardens. The nurses that would speak with him told him she stuck to her room.
He told himself he listened to the hum of her mind, and nothing more, to simply make sure she was all right.
The Son of Night may wander the halls in a cloak of darkness, but Death enveloped Feyre like a heavy shroud. Sometimes he swore he could see it, a pale and misty face over her shoulder.
Feyre’s presence now felt as fluttery as her distant heartbeat. As her future. As his own. For he could no longer look to the days ahead without picturing her in them. All he did now was watch and hold his breath.
And hope.
Rhysand sat upon his bed, wings tied to that infernal brace along the headboard. Hair rumpled and a letter torn to pieces beneath his fingers. Words like amnesty and renewed peace he wanted to mist into fine dust.
Words he couldn’t concentrate on when he thought about Feyre Archeron.
He was young. He was being brash and impulsive. Those words echoed in his mind in his father’s voice. The High Lord would rage.
A strategic and advantageous marriage was one of the few ways he could be of use to his father, as he was often reminded. The words he had thrown at Feyre about the Prince of Spring were well-known to him as well.
Not that his own old male had ever done so himself. Eight hundred years of a cruel and lonely reign, until he had swept his mate away, covered in blood-mist, and decided her future in that final and self-possessive way of his, never asking, never doubting his choices for an instant.
Certainly not worried about politics or alliances or the lives of his own people.
Rhysand was sure it would never even occur to Emrys to consult his son on the matter of his own future and happiness.
The male sighed, shoving against his brooding thoughts, brushing pieces of torn paper to the ground. There was nothing in this room but his dark ruminations, his worry, his hopes and dreams, so wild as to be frightening. Pain when he pulled against his wing’s harness, fear when he pictured Feyre’s pale, papery skin and an empty place beside him on Dawn’s balconies.
His thoughts had raced ahead of him without caution or sanity. A furious and panicked fever dream of a future.
Feyre would live, somehow. He had all this power, all this magic - surely it was meant for something. Meant for this.
And they would take a place in Velaris. He would show her the forests in the steppes and the gardens in the city. They could go to the cabin for a few months, or maybe the countryside outside of Velaris, to allow her to heal. In his dreams she was healing but strong, always in his arms whenever he could help her, a new brightness in her eyes.
He would protect her from his father. He worried she didn’t want to be a princess. But he would teach her, with Mor, and she would be fierce but just. And when he pictured her in a crown, jewels and gems weaving through her braid…no longer a sad and wilting maiden fading from the world, but a Queen, with bravery and stubbornness and ferocity to help reshape their new world.
He hoped his mother would love her. He prayed to the Mother he would have a chance to see them meet.
He wanted to take her flying.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do Mordecai writing a love letter confessing his feelings to his love interest. I believe he wouldn’t be as poetic as Rocky, but since he is so into reading and talking with big words I do think it would be a little dramatic letter. Just a paroxysm of everything he may feel.
If you don’t like that idea, how about him as a secret admirer? (As you may have noticed, I am quite a big fan of love letters, lmao). How he would struggle to leave his letters without being seen and the way he would try to get his crush to say anything about it while not looking suspiciously involved.
Thank you very much. Your page is my favourite, so I hope you don’t mind taking one of my ideas.
Tumblr media
To Whom It May Concern,
I have admired you for some time now, and I must confess my feelings. Your presence captivates me, and I find myself thinking of you incessantly. I harbor a deep affection for you that cannot remain unspoken any longer.
Yours Truly,
A Secret Admirer
It takes him a while to actually place the letter somewhere you’ll find it
He’s so nervous to be this vulnerable about his emotions
When he finally posts the letter into your letterbox, in the dead of night, fully decked out in black so no one- not even you would be unable to spot him
The next night he’ll come back and see the letter is gone- now he knows the waiting game is afoot
He won’t have to ask you if you’ve received any weird mail because you’ll come straight to him
(He’s very happy that you depend on him for help with simple things)
“Mordecai! I got this letter and I realllllly want to know who it is- can you help me draw up a systematic chart of likely to unlikely?”
The strong urge to tell you it’s him starts there
But he is flattered when you write his name down first out of anyone-
If you don’t figure it out after the first letter, he’ll send you another
To Whom It May Concern
It is with a trembling hand and an eager heart that I pen these words to you. The world around us is a tempest of change and noise, yet in your presence, I find a sanctuary of calm. The bustle of the city, the clamor of the jazz bands, all fade into a distant murmur when I am with you. It is as if time itself pauses, granting us a stolen moment of eternity.
How I wish I could express these feelings openly, but alas, the constraints of our world bind me to the shadows.
Yet, let this letter serve as a beacon of my affection, a silent testimony to the depths of my devotion. Until the day we can walk freely under the sun, I shall remain, faithfully and fervently,
Yours, in silence and in longing.
He’s a bit worried about what your reaction will be when you figure out it’s him
If you figure out it’s him-
You definitely know
You snuck into his office and checked the penmanship, the speech pattern was the same as Mordecai’s and he’d started to get increasingly nervous around you
One day a letter is slid under Mordecai’s office door whilst he’s working
To my Longing Admirer
Your letter found its way to my heart as surely as a sunbeam pierces through the morning mist. Your words, so tender and earnest, have stirred within me a curiosity and a longing I can scarcely describe.
It is with a blend of trepidation and exhilaration that I respond to your heartfelt confession. The sentiments you have shared resonate deeply with my own unspoken dreams and desires. Though the world may impose its boundaries upon us, I find myself yearning to transcend them, if only for a moment.
Might we dare to meet, and allow our hearts the luxury of true connection? If it pleases you, let us rendezvous at the Serendipity Tearoom on the corner of Elm and Rose, this Saturday at three o'clock. There, amidst the soft murmur of whispered secrets and the delicate clink of teacups, we may find solace in each other's company.
I shall be the one with a single gardenia, tucked gently in the folds of my dress. Until then, I remain,
Yours in hopeful anticipation,
An Enchanted Soul

Ammon's Birthday Card 2024 Translation.
Tumblr media
Part 1.
Now is the time when it is getting warmer and the flowers in the garden are starting to bloom beautifully. Tomorrow will be Ammon's birthday. Birthdays this year... I've already decided what I'll give to the butlers. A ring that can be worn on the pinky. Wearing this ring... They say that the meaning of it is to “prevent happiness from leaving.” Having learned this meaning, I immediately went to Ammon, preparing a small rose quartz ring. Wanting to prepare a special atmosphere for presenting a gift, I wrote a letter to Ammon.
"Let's have dinner together on your birthday."
After the butlers fell asleep... I left a letter under the door to the butlers' room on the second floor.
Looking forward to Ammon's reaction to the letter, I fell asleep that day...
*Knock Knock*
Ammon: Master. Can i come in?
You: Of course.
Come in.
Ammon: Good morning, master.
You: Good morning, Ammon.
Ammon: A love letter from master. I got it right ♪
You: Lo-love letter?
Ammon took my letter out of his pocket.

Ammon: According to the letter, master wants to have dinner with me...
Ammon: What you meant is... That you're going on a date with me today, right?
You: Um...
I explained the situation to him. Today is Ammon's day... I want us to go somewhere together and enjoy the atmosphere of this day to the fullest. At the end I would like to enjoy dinner together... And at dinner we will decide where to go next. I told him that since it is his birthday, I want him to enjoy the day without any hesitation.
Ammon: Hehe. It's not a date after all~
Ammon: I'm very glad that the master loves me so much ♪
You: "Love you", you say...
Glad you liked it.
Ammon: Nooo~ Anyway, I'm glad we cleared up this misunderstanding.
Ammon: After reading this letter... I was so carried away that I thought about a date with the master.
You: Have you thought about a date?
Ammon: And I still think about it.
Ammon: Although, it’s probably better not to get too carried away.
Ammon: Having received such a letter from master... I am sure that there is no one who wouldn't be worried.
You: Fufu, right?
Ammon: Of course.
You: Have you already decided where you want to go?
Ammon: I have.
Ammon: Wherever master wants, I will go there too. What would you like to do?
You: I will go wherever Ammon wants.
Ammon: Hehe. I understand, master.
Ammon: Master, who prepared such an important day for me... I'll definitely have fun today ♪
Ammon: Then, rely on me today.
Ammon: Now that we've decided on today's schedule...
Ammon: I still have unfinished business. I'll come pick you up as soon as I'm ready.
And so... We decided to split up and get ready for the walk.
*Knock Knock*
Ammon: Master, I'm ready.
Ammon: Can I come in?
You: Yes.
Come in.
Ammon: Excuse me, Master.
Ammon came into my room again, only in a different suit.
You: This suit...
Ammon: Hehe. Does it suit me?
Ammon: This suit... I think it suits me.
Ammon: From master's point of view... Does it?
You: That's a nice suit.
It suits you.
Ammon: I'm glad. Fleure made this suit for me.
Ammon: The way I look in this suit... I'll definitely make sure you don't forget ♪
Ammon: Well, then... Let's go.
Ammon: There's a carriage waiting outside.
You: Understood.

And so... We got into the carriage that Ammon had prepared.
After a few minutes of rocking in the carriage... We were in front of a cafe in Espoir.
Ammon: So, master. Come in.
Ammon: This is the cafe for today.
Ammon: By the way, this is my favorite cafe.
Ammon: The owner of this cafe is a rare person who treats devil butlers well... I'm sure we'll have a good time.
You: Right.
Owner: I was waiting for you. I will now take you to your table.
It looks like Ammon had reserved a table in advance... As soon as we entered the cafe... The owner took us to a place where we would be hard to notice.
Ammon: Master...
Ammon: Since we have a date today... Is it okay if I sit with you?
You: Certainly.
Ammon: Thank you, master.
Ammon: Then, excuse me.
Ammon pulled out a chair for me to sit... After that he sat down on the opposite side from me.
Ammon: Master, is it okay if I choose our lunch...? I have one recommendation.
Ammon: I'm sure, master will like it too.
You: Then please.
Ammon: Got it.
Then Ammon called the owner... Soon they brought us lunch.
Ammon and I were quite pleased with our lunch. After this we enjoyed tea.
Ammon: Well, I think now is the time...
Ammon called the owner over and whispered something in his ear.
You: What did you say?
Ammon: Eh? Nothing.
Ammon: Well, master... How about a dessert?
Ammon: The desserts in this cafe are very tasty. I hope the master will like it too.
You: Fine.
Okay.
Ammon: Hehe... Got it.
Ammon: Then.... Mhm?
Suddenly Ammon... As if he realized something, his face became serious.
You: What happened, Ammon?
When I looked in the direction where Ammon was looking... I saw several well-built men approaching me.
You: These people..?
Ammon: Uh. I do not know either.
Ammon: But they give off a strange aura.
Ammon: If they talk to you, I will answer... So please don't go anywhere.
Man A: ...You two. The devil butler and his master.
Ammon: Right... Who are you?
Man A: By order of Finlay-sama... We were sent by the Grobaner family.
Man A: Master of the Devil Butlers... We will take you to the Grobaner Mansion.
You: Eh? Me?
Man A: Also note that no chaperone is required. The order is that only master is needed.
Ammon: Are you saying... Only master is called to the Grobaner mansion?
Ammon: This is bad...
Ammon: I can’t just entrust a precious master to strangers like that.
Ammon: If you take the master, I'm going with you. This is the final decision.
You: Ammon...
And for some time the men shouted that they would only take me... But in the end, they allowed Ammon to accompany me.
Ammon: Master... I'm really sorry we're wasting our time on this.
You: It's okay.
Don't worry.
Ammon: Let's quickly deal with these people... And then we will continue our date.
Ammon and I followed the men's instructions and left the cafe... We got into the prepared carriage.
Part 2.
Besides me and Ammon, there were other men in the carriage... Tension was in the air.
Ammon: (This... This is not the road to the Grobaner mansion. At the end of this road... There is a forest and... An unused warehouse. If I remember correctly, this warehouse, according to the latest rumors, is used for kidnappings. You can't believe the rumors, but this is definitely an unsafe place. But I still can’t say that the Grobaner family has nothing to do with these men. Let’s wait a little longer and see how things turn out.)
Ammon: (Besides... If these guys were kidnappers... If it was for money, they would have immediately attacked... As long as there is no danger to master, I will collect information.)
Considering the atmosphere in the carriage and the serious expression on Ammon's face, I became increasingly agitated.
You: (Is everything really okay...)
Ammon then noticed my condition and whispered to me.
Ammon: Master, everything is fine. While I'm here, don't worry about anything.
Ammon: No matter what happens, I will definitely protect master.
Ammon: However, if you are still worried... Would you like to hold my hand?
Ammon: Here you are, master.
The previous expression disappeared from Ammon's face as he extended his hand to me. Ammon looked like he was having fun waiting for me to take his hand. Feeling that he was the same as always, I felt relieved. I took his hand and smiled back.
You: Thank you, Ammon.
Ammon: Hehe. My pleasure.
Ammon: I would be happy if master could rely on me.
Ammon: .....U~m. And yes, master...
Ammon: Since when is your face so red?
Ammon: Maybe... Are you impressed by my cool speeches?
You: D-Don't tease me in this situation.
Ammon: Hehe. Cute ♪
Ammon: I'm glad I made master's heart flutter.
Ammon: Our date may have been interrupted... But my plan will now be even more successful ♪
You: Yeah...
Looking at Ammon's contented face... I feel safe. I waited patiently for the carriage to stop...
........
You: Oh, has the carriage arrived?
Ammon: Oh, looks like we've arrived at our destination.
Ammon: Judging by the distance, we are not that far from the city...
Ammon: ...This... There is no doubt that this is the same warehouse....
You: Eh? Warehouse?
Ammon: Ah~ No, no. These are just rumors.
At the same time... The man who was traveling with us forcefully opened the carriage door.
Man A: Well, we've arrived. Come out.
You: Eh?
Man A: Didn't you hear? Come out quickly!
The arrival point was not Grobaner Mansion... I was surprised to hear the man's harsh words... I suddenly lost the ability to move.
Man A: Tch. Don't you understand?
The man got angry... He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the carriage. I get up in a hurry, but the man's pull causes me to lose my balance on the stairs.
You: Whoa..!
( I'm falling...!)
Ammon: Master..!
At that moment, Ammon grabbed my hand and pulled me closer.
Ammon: Ha... That was dangerous. I was scared for a moment.
Ammon's hand hugged my waist tightly... He supports me so that I don't fall. His hands were much more masculine than I imagined.
You: T-thank you, Ammon.
Ammon: Sorry for catching you so late. I was surprised you were captured so suddenly.
Ammon: Are you okay?
You: Yes, thanks to Ammon.
Ammon: I'm really glad...
Ammon: And by the way... Guys, you've had enough...
Man A: Hee...!
Ammon stares at the man who grabbed my arm earlier. The man got scared and took a step back.
Ammon: Master, let's go out.
You: Mm.
As Ammon carefully led me out of the carriage... He took out his whip.
Ammon: So...
Ammon: It takes a lot of courage to be so cruel to my master.
Ammon: First of all... Who said you can touch master?
Ammon: No one, except me, can touch master without permission.
Unlike the relaxed voice before... Ammon's voice was now filled with anger.
Man A: Hee...!
Man B: Don't be afraid..!
Man B: Even if it's the devil's butler... We have a numerical advantage..!
Man B: This will be an easy win..!
Men: Ooh!
Ammon: .....
Ammon: Master, please watch carefully. Ammon: Bad people, frightening master... I will punish them all ♪
You: Ammon...
And hearing these lines of Ammon... The enraged people immediately rushed to attack.
Ammon: Master, don't look away from me.
Ammon: Master's passionate gaze... I want you to look only at me.
Ammon: Everything cool that is in me... Don't miss a second!
At this moment everything looked like it was on the stage of a play. Ammon successfully defeated the enemies with his whip. Every time he moved his hand... I heard the sound of the wind and the screams of the kidnappers.
*Phew!*
Men: Gha!
Ammon: Hey hey, what's wrong~?
Ammon: Such slow attacks... No matter how hard you try, you cannot defeat me.
It seems that the place where we stopped was an enemy shelter. Enemies appeared one after another. But they immediately fall to the ground.
Ammon: It doesn't matter how many of you there are. I trained hard to protect my master.
Ammon: Today is my birthday... I will do you a special favor.
Ammon: I will make you feel the full force of my whip.
As if to confirm this... His whip never stopped swinging at his enemies.
Ammon: Even if you give up now, it's too late...!
*Whoosh!*
Before we knew it, all the kidnappers had disappeared. Sometimes we could hear groans... It seems that now it is very difficult for them to move.
Ammon: So, this is the end.
Ammon: Hehe. Wasn't it a little overwhelming~?
Ammon: But maybe... The Master will understand how reliable I am.
Ammon: Master, don't you think I was cool?
You: Very cool.
Ammon: Hehe. Thank you.
Ammon: ... By the way... I was with you the whole time, so I think everything is fine, but...
Ammon: Master, are you not injured?
You: I'm fine.
Everything is fine.
Ammon: Yes? That's good...
Ammon: However... When we were riding in the carriage, you were roughly grabbed by the arm...
Ammon: Can I have a look?
You: Fine.
I extended my right hand to Ammon. He looked closely and finally smiled softly, feeling relieved.
Ammon: Okay... It's really okay.
Ammon: From the moment the master was pulled by the hand...
Ammon: I was a little worried that master might have hurt themselves or damaged their arm.
You: I'm sorry to trouble you.
Thank you for worrying about me.
Ammon: Ha... Anyway, I'm glad you're okay. Ammon: So, when everything is calm... Let's take a rest, and then go back to that cafe.
You: Yes.
Ammon: There is still a carriage left here... Ammon: But right now I want to take a walk with master.
Ammon: The cafe is not far from here... Ammon: Maybe master would also like to go for a walk?
You: Fine.
Let's go.
Ammon: Thank you ♪
Ammon: Then...
Ammon: Take my hand, master.
You: Thank you.
Ammon is kind and accompanies me. I remember the feeling of his hand when he held me earlier... The feeling of his strong, courageous hands returned.
Having reported the location of the kidnappers, we returned to the cafe.
Ammon: So, master. A lot has happened...
Ammon: The walk made me hungry.
You: That's for sure.
Ammon: Would you like to try the dessert I was talking about earlier?
You: Yes.
Ammon: Hehe.
Ammon: Then, get ready...
Ammon turned to the owner, who was observing the situation, and gave him a signal with his fingers.
You: Ammon, what is it?
Ammon: This... There will be dessert soon.
You: Eh? But you haven't ordered anything yet.
Ammon: It's okay~
Hearing footsteps, I saw a smiling waitress carrying a large plate. There is a magnificent cake on the plate. The red and pink cream decorations are so cute.
You: In-incredible...
Ammon: Hehe... Are you amazed by this cake?
You: Yes.
Ammon: Actually, this is the first time I've seen this cake up close. He is as beautiful as a bouquet of flowers.
You: Why this particular cake?
Ammon: Because... It was baked by my request.
Ammon: Because only a few cakes are baked per day. I'm glad I managed to order it.
Ammon: Thanks to the master’s letter yesterday, I managed to place my order on time.
You: Is that so?
Several cakes a day... Ammon must have placed the order early in the morning. He ordered this cake after reading my letter... I felt happy, knowing that Ammon was trying to please me.
You: Thank you, Ammon.
Ammon: Hehe. My pleasure.
Ammon: To tell the truth, I was so excited to see the letter that I couldn't even sit still.
Ammon: What would we do with master? What kind of master would I see?
Ammon: I've thought about this a lot.
Ammon: I wanted to see master’s beloved smile.
Ammon: That's why... I prepared such a surprise.
You: Right...?
I'm so embarrassed...
Ammon: Well~ Some troubles happened, so I was wondering what would happen next.... But I'm glad that everything turned out okay.
Ammon: Master, thank you for inviting me today.
You: Thank you.
Ammon: I was able to see master's smile... I'm really happy.
And then we ate cake together. Ammon's look was so kind... And the cake, and Ammon's look... It was all so sweet.
After drinking tea and relaxing...We left the cafe.
And during sunset... We visited a luxurious restaurant to have dinner.
Ammon booked a remote location. We were able to enjoy our dinner without worrying about our surroundings.
Ammon: Phew~ It was very tasty.
You: It was delicious.
Ammon: Hehe. I'm glad master is happy.
Ammon: Master... Today was a busy day..
Ammon: At least for a moment... Did your heart flutter?
You: Yes.
It was trembling.
Ammon: Hehe, right?
Ammon: Well, I shouldn't ask that...
Ammon: Master was so happy with me... I immediately understood everything.
You: Wha-What?
Ammon: Watching master... I understood everything.
Ammon: Master had it all written all over their face.
Ammon: After all, I can watch master all day and not get tired.
You: .....Ugh.
Ammon: But, master, is it possible to stay like this?
You: Eh? What do you mean?
Ammon: If this continues... I will begin to disturb the master's heart again.
Ammon: Are you alright with me constantly flattering you?
Ammon: Hey hey. Next time, make my heart flutter.
Ammon looks at me with a provoking look. Today he made my heart beat faster... In the end, I want to repay him with the same coin. I got a present for his birthday.
You: Ammon, take this.
In that small box that I took out... Of course, there was a small ring in it.
Ammon: Eh? This..
You: A birthday gift.
Ammon: Ahaha... Exactly.
Ammon: I knew master would prepare something... But I didn't think you would hand it to me right now.
You: Open it.
Ammon: Right.
Hearing my words, Ammon carefully opened the box. Inside, rose quartz emitted a gentle and gentle light. And I told Ammon everything. As a birthday present for Ammon, I decided to make a small ring... It meant: “I want Ammon to always be happy.” Therefore, I chose a ring with rose quartz. Rose quartz is considered a talisman in love. Looking at this pink pebble... It reminded me of Ammon, who makes my heart beat faster with his words. Having said this, I carefully placed the ring on Ammon's little finger.
Ammon: Thank you, master...
Ammon: I have long been familiar with the meaning of rose quartz...
Ammon: But I never expected to receive something like this from master. This is really unexpected.
Ammon: Suddenly my heart beats faster.
You: Is it true?
I'm glad.
Ammon: Making my heart flutter like that... As expected of master.
Ammon: Hehe... By the way...
Ammon: I can't believe master is expressing their love with rose quartz on my birthday...
Ammon: In other words... Does this mean that the master looks at me in a special way?
You: Um...
In a special way...
Ammon: Oh, no need to be embarrassed. I know how the master feelings.
Ammon: In other words... It's true, right?
Ammon: Hehe. I'm the master's butler, so I won't say anything more...
Ammon: What kind of relationship does master want to have with me? I understand everything perfectly ♪
You: A-Ammon...
Ammon: Teasing master at such moments... It feels a little different.
Ammon: Master... I always try to make your heart flutter...
Ammon: But feeling how your heart is pounding...
Ammon: My heart also beats for master.
Ammon: It's not cool to say this, but...
Ammon: Even now... My heart is beating rapidly.
Ammon: Hehe. I wonder why I said something like this...
Ammon: Now I'm feeling like I'm flying.
Ammon: But today is my birthday. It's okay if I'm more frank.
Ammon looks at the ring with sincere joy.
Ammon: Thank you very much. This gift exceeds all my expectations.
Ammon: Master... I feel like master is taking care of me...
Ammon: No... Besides...
Ammon: I'm also excited talking about my master.
Ammon: Of course, as a butler...
Ammon: And as a man.
Ammon: When the master’s heart trembles... Mine trembles too...
Ammon: I'm not alone.
Ammon: Such possessiveness... Maybe it's not like me...
Ammon: I always want to be with my master and be special to them.
You: Ammon...
Ammon always acts like a little devil. But only today he made me bashful even more. But even though it touches my heart so much... I can't say that I don't like it. Rather... These conservations with him are somewhat comforting... Today I felt my heart beating faster so often... From the bottom of my heart I was glad that I could spend time with him like this.
THE END.
