I like how in this era of excellent queer TV to replace the SuperWhoLock era, each light hearted comedy show of the trio has a dark queer mirror. Black Sails is to Our Flag Means Death, as Interview With The Vampire is to What We Do In The Shadows, just as The Sandman is to Good Omens.
I do find it odd how in each pairing its the supposed light hearted comedy show that has emotionally devastated its audience so far though...

See, like, believe whatever you want to believe at this point. But I've gone through this show so many times that it's actually impossible for me to think the crew secretly hate Lunter.
Not because of all the Totally unintentional Caleb/Evelyn = Lunter parallels or the literal Lunter kiss in a spoiler episode. In TTT they intentionally make Hunter's favorite animals wolves... and Luz's school team is called Wolves. They also have the audacity to associate Luz with wolves twice in this episode...
Adults: Ugh. So unhygienic. That girl must've been raised by wolves.
Camila: Hey! Wolves are actually great parents, and-
So, how the hell do you explain this ON TOP of the Caleb/Evelyn stuff?
At this point, most people realize TOH is fanficy as hell... so why is it impossible to believe they wanted to add ship fuel even if they weren't going to commit to making Lunter a thing?

The RWRB movie may not have been the best adaptation of the book, but if you seperate the book from the movie it's still a good movie on it's own and I stand by that

It zooms in on El when Max says
"The day that he died. I think that's why I just stood there. Not because I was scared or weak but because...I didn't know if he deserved to be saved."

I don't want to speak too much on the "if Jack is portrayed as manipulative or otherwise Bad for Keeley it is problematic on part of the writers because they are our only wlw ship and that is bad queer rep" conversation, because while I definitely do have my own thoughts, I can also see both sides of the argument and at the end of the day, I think it's a very personal thing that is going to vary for each of us.
What I will say is that I both appreciated 1) the stark conversation between Rebecca and Keeley, particularly how real Rebecca's concerns felt and how respectfully she voiced them without it being "Jack is just as bad as Rupert and you need to stay away" and 2) That Keeley took that, thought about it, and made an effort to establish boundaries with Jack, who then agreed to take a step back. They had an open and productive conversation about it like adults.
Whether Jack will follow through on the stepping back...well, we'll find out. I will say the part that most concerned me was Jack telling Keeley she can be the jealous type, followed by Jack paying for Keeley & Rebecca's dinner. Keeley herself seemed visibly uncomfortable with this, but it was unclear if that was just because she could suddenly see what Rebecca was talking about, or perhaps had additional concerning realizations (Had Jack prodded Keeley for a bunch of information about this night out beforehand? Where she was going and when and who with etc.? Something Keeley might have taken as just general interest and conversation at the time, but now has different undertones?) Ultimately, it felt overbearing and possessive in a "I want to remind you I'm still here while you're out with a friend and that is why I will foot the bill" way.
It IS so early in the relationship and Jack IS coming on strong. It felt like planting the seeds for a quick break between them, to me. That said, I certainly don't think Jack is "Keeley's Rupert" like some people are saying. And I never know quite what this show is going to do, so I have no doubt there will be at least a few surprises along the way.

no bc they rlly got me with that “do you remember what he did to you? I was there” bc up to this point no one has been genuine about the abuse. They’ve used it in power plays, in weird psychosexual soliloquies, everytime someone else’s experience of abuse has been brought up it’s been transactional. Say sorry because you neglected Connor, feel an emotion because you hit Roman. But stewy… man! It was just this one last Hail Mary to get Kendal OUT. And the only way kendal knew how to respond to probably the only non-transactional ‘normal people’ exposition of abuse was trying to get his own transaction to go through while offering nothing in return because stewy showed his hand and Kendall knew he wanted Nothing but Him.

hi can I just say you seeing itsuomi as bi-coded is so big brained . we love bi itsuomi in this household <3 you're right and you SHOULD say it
All my current fav anime guys have had a Bisexual tone to them, it's only a given (just look at Fakir from Princess Tutu and Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket and Ryuuji Takasu from Toradora and-----).
But what sets Itsuomi so much from them all is not just how open he is about complimenting and joking with the people around him, it's that he is also so so so active about talking things out and starting up a conversation. He doesn't want any misgivings or misunderstanding, the man WANTS to communicate because he's always wanted to reach out to people and to understand them and likewise have them understand him when the topics arise.
Itsuomi is not only Bi and Acespec coded he is also SO open-minded and a natural at genuine human connection. He travels not just to help the people around him but to also understand them as well and he doesn't shy away from starting up a conversation with them.
Fuck I love him. I have to continue Yubisaki fan arts someday.....

One thing I've noticed in media is how when there's a nonbinary character most of the time they make a big deal of them being afab
I see nothing wrong with having afab nonbinary characters of course, but I just can't think of any nonbinary character where they mention their struggle from being amab and nonbinary, just afab enbys
If we see a queer amab person, the ones I've seen are usually gay men or trans woman
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing all queer content, no matter the agab, I'm so glad that queer representation is more common now, especially for nonbinary people
I just wish there was more media going into the struggles of being an amab enby, or more content on the struggles of queer amab, I feel like a lot of media makes it seem like queer people are afab trans men, lesbians, and gay men
There are so many more members of the lgbtqia+ and so many more struggles to convey
Again, do not twist my words, I am so glad of the good representation that we do have, whether they're amab or afab people. I am so thankful newer generations get that queer media and representation, this whole ramble is about having more kinds of representation out in the world. Amab people are affected negatively by the patriarchy too, women can get it worse and I know this, I am not trying to discredit anyone's struggles, all I ask is more some queer amab representation alongside the afab queer representation

I’ve thus far been really pleased with how OFMD handles disability, but I’m still just a little anxious about how Izzy’s amputation is gonna be handled. Like I trust DJenkins to treat this whole thing with kindness and compassion, but I’m just still a little nervous! Just 8 more hours until I can go home and watch!
