Find A Song that delves into the depths of self-doubt
Clara Cloud - Weathervane
The second single of Clara Cloud’s highly anticipated visual album, "The Woods," a queer retelling of the Greek mythology story of Artemis, Apollo, and Orion, is here. “Weathervane” delves into the depths of self-doubt, portraying a landscape of emotional overwhelm with fluidity and grace. Clara Cloud, with her distinctive ethereal vocals, intertwines water and ocean imagery to create a parallel with the swirling, fluid emotions that characterize the human experience. The emotional violins weave seamlessly into the fabric of the song, enhancing the sense of introspection and internal struggle. Each note and lyric within "Weathervane" is carefully crafted to convey the essence of early winter — a season marked by the inevitable decay of nature, leaving behind a chilling sense of isolation. Clara Cloud's ability to infuse nature imagery with her indie pop sound sets her apart as a unique and powerful voice in the music industry.
Added to FAS Spotify playlist indie folk/country/americana.

Comin' back with another lyrics question. (Though hopefully, I'll get to answer this before vacay)
Imma be specific. Favorite song lyric from these Jason Isbell songs. Chosen completely randomly by Apple Music.
(Jolene - Ray LaMontagne is playing so I gotta finish this song first)
Dreamsicle Dress Blues If We Were Vampires Cast Iron Skillet Codeine
(Okay Apple Music, giving me fantastic Jason Isbell (and the 400 Unit) songs) 😍
Tumblr media
(I love when you search for Jason Isbell GIFS they're mostly Amanda/The Highwomen)
Yes 🙌🏻 on the gif search and these are great songs. But first, definitely finish listening to Ray LaMontagne. He’s so good. 😍
Dreamsicle- “Gotta break the news to all my friends but they won’t care, they’ll just find another face to fall behind, to take my place”. But it feels so true as a kid when your leaving all you know behind.
Dress Blues- this one won’t change from the previous ask- “Mamas and Grandmamas love you ‘cause that’s all they know how to do, you never planned on the bombs in the sand or sleeping in your dress blues.” 😍 absolutely seize the day. You never know what tomorrow will bring.
If We Were Vampires- okay the lyrics you chose on this one are really the best but to be different- “The fragile heart you’ve protected for so long” I just relate to that line so much. Sometimes, I think it would be nice to not feel so deeply so often.
Cast Iron Skillet- “Don’t walk where you can’t see your feet, don’t ask questions, just believe it” The whole tow the line vibe here. This message is just sad and I hate how many reflect it and pass it on to the next generation. 💔
Codeine- I haven’t listened to this one in forever- “You oughta come home tonight but you won’t. I wish we knew how to fight, but we don’t.” It’s just such a melancholy line with wishing things were different.
Tumblr media
I had to end with a smiling gif because the last few lyrics 💔

Tyler and Readers daughter seeing Tyler as the Hyde for the first time and instead of being scared she just calmly approaches him and offers him a goldfish 😭
pt. 2
tyler is the most loving father ever. even before his daughter was born, he already loved her unconditionally. he loves spending time with her, doing her two little piggy tails and choosing the cutest outfit before driving her to daycare, and then waiting for her outside with her afternoon snack and opening arms just for the baby to run stomping into them. that's why he's scared that someday his baby would grow enough to discover that he is a monster.
"it's not like that, tyler. she'll still love you the same."
but tyler shook his head every time and answered you "she will never want to hear from me again when she finds out that i am a monster." and it breaks you every time because you know that's not true. you were educating your daughter to respect everyone, why would it be any different with her father, one of the people she loves most in the world? besides, even if tyler didn't even want to think about it and that in most cases the children inherited the mother's condition, there was still a possibility of her being also a hyde.
you drove to the weathervane with your daughter sitting in the back of the car eating some snacks. once you arrived at the cafe shop, you noticed that the lights were on, and the door was open, but there was no one inside. "mommy will be here in a second, baby." and you played some soft music for her while she waited for you in the car. you got out of it and quickly approached the entrance to the cafeteria. you didn't need to go inside to know that tyler wasn't there and that something was wrong. there was a trail of blood leading from the door of the weathervane down the street a little way. "shit." you mumbled and quickly got into the car again.
"okay, baby, come here. daddy needs us." you left the car at the edge of the forest, you held your daughter in your arms and you went into the woods. he was most likely halfway through the transformation, that's why the blood. his wounds from the past transformation were not healed, so he would probably was badly injured.
your daughter was confused but she was still busy eating her cheddar goldfish. you walked a few meters with her in your arms until you found tyler's clothes ripped on the ground. "no, no, no, no." you knew what that meant. when you turned around to take your girl back to the car and drive her to bianca's, there he was, transformed into what he hated most. his breathing was heavy, his big eyes stared at you and your daughter, ready for your next move, and his fanged teeth were showing in an attempt to scare you both. his body was way bigger than yours, and it blocked your way back to the car. his long claws were digging into the ground, almost as if he was fighting against his nature.
"tyler–” you called him with a sigh.
"daddy?" your daughter called him. her green eyes were analyzing what she had in front of her. her small body was a little tense between your arms, but her face showed no fear. she tapped on your shoulder three times and you hesitated for a moment. tyler would never forgive himself if he hurt your daughter. you ended up leaving the girl on her feet, always behind her in case she fell. walking heavily she approached him, he didn't try to attack her nor he did try to avoid her. using her sticky little fingers, she pulled the last cheese goldfish that she had left, and then she held out her arm, offering it to his dad.
the hyde lifted one of his big arms off the ground, and you threatened to pull her away from him. being extremely careful and just by using the tip of his long claws, he took the goldfish from the girls' hand. after that, she returned to your side and asked you to pick her up again.
"i'll take her with bianca and xavier, and i'll be back." you didn't know if tyler was hearing you, but by the time he returned to his human form, he will be tired and hurt, with all of his past wounds open again and most likely with new ones. the hyde huffed and you guessed that he did hear you. he slowly moved out of your way and you started to walk to the car with your daughter in your arms again. her eyes never left tyler, she rested her head on your shoulder so she could keep looking at him for a little longer while you walked away from him. with her hand, she waved goodbye to him and he didn't move from there until you were both far away enough

“ Got the girl „
part 2 of “ La Seine and I „
Tumblr media Tumblr media
|Summary: Wednesday confesses her feelings for you. Turns out you did get the girl after all.
|Warnings: Wednesday taking a shot at actually expressing her feelings, sum fluff. a little angst only a bit.
|AN: Thanks for all the support on the last one!! It really means a lot.
|Heres Part 1!
Weeks had gone by. You still felt heartless. Heartbroken maybe. You tried to push past your feelings but it was no use. Everything reminded you of her.
She had tried to get your attention numerous times. Even if they were horrible poor attempts.
As much as you wanted to talk to her, you couldn’t even bring yourself to do anything.
So here you were now, in bed, staring at the ceiling. Thinking. Thinking about whether you were good enough for anybody, not just her, but whether anyone even saw you in a loving way.
Wednesday wasn’t your first crush, but she was sure the first one that batted an eye at you.
And you were stupid for even thinking you had a chance.
But it didn’t matter anymore. Not to her anyway. She’s gonna get on with her life, and you’d just be stuck with your stupid thoughts.
Shit.
You took a deep breath, and rolled your eyes.
You needed to get up.
Just suck it up and move on. That’s all.
Maybe you’d find someone better.
Hopefully.
Thankfully it was a Saturday so you didn’t have classes. Which meant you could go for a walk. Just you and your thoughts.
You groggily slipped on some sweats and a pull-over, and headed out of the door, slipping in your earphones in the process, putting some music on, and went about your way.
But you didn’t notice a certain raven-haired girl slowly trailing behind you.
“Thing. Stop. I know what I did was wrong, but it wasn’t my intention.” Wednesday said, looking at you walk away just a tad bit further so she could follow you some more.
She hadn’t meant for Tyler to kiss her. She didn’t even want to kiss him.
At all.
She loved liked you. Not him. He followed her there, and kissed her. She didn’t want that to happen.
Right after the kiss happened, she scolded him and he never talked to her again.
But she lost you. And she needed you back. So now, she was going to try.
Eventually she caught up to you.
For the first time ever she was hesitant to do something, but this was needed.
“Y/N!” She called out, hoping for you to stop.
You looked up, eyes widening. You turned around to see Wednesday standing there.
“Wednesday.” You said, in shock. “Were… were you following me?”
“I wanted to apologize.” She interrupted. “For what happened at the Weathervane. It wasn’t my intention to kiss Tyler, I swear. He kissed me, and-“
She paused.
She realized she was rambling. God, she never rambles she usually knows what to say and when.
“It’s okay.” You smiled. “It’s okay. I just - “
“Thank you for bow, and flowers by the way. They were lovely.” She interrupted you again.
“Y/N?” She questioned.
“Yeah?” You sighed. You were expecting something bad to come out of her mouth afterwards, but…
“I like you.” Wednesday said. “And not just, in a platonic way.. in a.. romantic way. I was definitely looking forward the date before Tyler ruined it, please believe me. I-“
You smiled, stepped forward, cupped her cheeks, and kissed her.
When you pulled away you could’ve sworn you saw some color come back into her life.
“If you do that again i’ll make sure there’s stitches on your lips.” She stammered. “But. I suppose you could.. maybe do that again.” She said afterwards.
You smiled and leaned in once more.
You finally got the girl.

guitar practice
summary: wednesday always seems to put someone or something above you, luckily her roommate is always there to pick up the pieces
warnings: angst
a/n: i might make this into a series i’ve got some good ideas, thank you for all the support on my last post !
“wednesdays child is full of woe” you supposed that should be her mantra as you lock eyes over the top of your guitar, your not sure when your gothic girlfriend started pulling away but recently she’d been spending more and more time investigating with tyler galpin you haven’t spent time in your studio together in months her usually ditching your practice time in favour of gallivanting around the woods but not today.
today she sits dutifully at your side as you tune your beloved instrument, eyes never leaving the side of your face it’s starting to get difficult to hide the blush creeping up your neck so before you’ve even thought about what your doing you turn “do i have something on my face?” inwardly cringing as it comes out harsher than intended, she hums ignoring your last statement “would you accompany me to the weathervane after practice? i’d like to” she sucks air in through her teeth narrowing her eyes “i’d like to take you on, a date.” she nods her head seeming satisfied with herself.
you freeze a lopsided grin stretching across your face “id love to nes” she hums in response again stretching out her fingers to meet yours, still on the tuning pegs she ghosts her fingers up your arm and bumps your cheek with her knuckles affectionately “my investigation has hit a wall and i suppose it has been a while since we had some time together” you freeze again, but this time not in a good way heat and anger flush through you at the statement “ah so you only want to spend time with me when you’ve got nothing else to do?” she removes her hand quickly “y/n we have spoken about how important my investigation is, must you spend the time i give you acting like a spoilt child” you sit stunned at her words
anger.
betrayal?
hurt ?
they all blend together as you stand your guitar falling out of your lap and onto the floor with a painfully loud clatter, tears blur your vision as you look at her passive face unblinking, no, uncaring “really wednesday im a spoilt child for wanting you to spend time with your girlfriend? you think i enjoy you running off with tyler all the time? no. but i try to trust you no matter what my head tells me” your voice breaks and you take a sharp breath in refusing to let her see you break.
you take a step back not breaking eye contact with her
“must you be so dramatic y/n?”
you don’t dignify her with an answer taking another step, she still hasn’t moved you let out a dry chuckle “let me know when i move up your list of priorities” with that you turn on your heel and all but sprint from the room tears rolling down your cheeks.
your not sure where your legs are bringing you until your in front of a familiar dorm wednesday and enid’s room, enid. you knock quickly hearing the pop music pause the door swings open revealing the bubbly werwolf you watch her face brighten then fall at the sight of you, throwing yourself into her arms you choke out a sob her arms instantly coming around you rubbing soothing circles in your back “y/n what happened, talk to me comon let’s get you inside” walking backwards not breaking the hug she flings the door shut.
you rush though the explanation as she picks out one of her biggest hoodies for you to change into, your sat on her bed by the time she finally decides what clothes to give you “she doesn’t deserve you n/n” enid sighs as she pads over to you wiping at your tear stained cheeks with her thumbs “your staying with me tonight i don’t want you feeling like this alone get changed and get into bed” you comply happily and when you come out of the bathroom sporting the pink fluffy sweatshirt and pink mini shorts she cheers and opens her arms wide for you, you settle against her tucking your head under her chin and for a second you think maybe tyler can have wednesday if this is how it’s going to stay.

Turn It Off!
Gentle!Wednesday x Autistic!Male!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Wednesday comforts you after Enid almost sends you into sensory overload.
Words: 1076
Wednesday POV
Normally I would resent anyone who would even dare to think of asking me out, but that all changed when a particular psychic boy asked me to be his friend, and soon to be boyfriend.
Y/N L/N, a real gem among idiots.
I instantly took a liking to him, he's different from everything else and I soon came to find out why.
Y/N has autism spectrum disorder, which would be a valid explanation for some of his behaviour since coming to nevermore.
He's extremely shy, when he asked me to be his friend he almost broke at the seams. He's really nervous during any kind of social interaction with those he doesn't know.
Loud noises are especially irritable for him. Wolves howling in the quad would be torture for him, making him put his headphones on the second he sees them about to howl.
Meltdowns. Some imbecile thought it was funny to blast an air horn into his ears during lunch break, the result was Y/N having a meltdown with no one able to help him.
When we started talking I knew he felt a connection to me, he was a bit scared of me but also intrigued.
He's vastly intelligent, easily an IQ of 160. He's truly gifted with intelligence and that's coming from me. I'm not one to be humble.
When we started dating I took him to the weathervane, I didn't want to scare him like I did with everyone else. He's a fragile boy and didn't deserve that.
I wanted to protect him, to care for him and help where everyone elsen had failed him.
I love everything about him. I love the he'd hide his hands in his sleeves when he's shy. I love the way he talks about his favourite things in great detail. I love the way he could come to me when he's upset.
I love him, so very very much.
-
Me, Enid and Y/N are currently studying for our botany test next week. Enid, as usual, is procrastinating while me and Y/N have been studying since the test was announced.
We both go to reach for the eraser on the desk next to us, only for our hands to touch. I kissed the top of his hand making him blush madly, he really is cute; I hate myself for using that word.
Enid is dancing around her room being the foolish lycan that she is, she never ceases to amaze me how foolish she can be, its actually quite remarkable.
Suddenly, she decided it was a good idea to start blasting her incessant music out of her speakers, causing Y/N to cover his ears and whimper out of discomfort.
"Enid, turn it off" I said with a warning tone, though she only chose to ignore me and do her embarrassing dance moves in front of my face. Y/N began to whimper louder, making my anger with Enid rise to new heights.
"Enid turn it off!" I said louder; no effect was made.
"Why? It's getting boring in here, let's have some fun!" She said loudly, only adding to Y/N's discomfort. I was furious.
"ENID!" I shout, startling the both of them. "Can't you see that Y/N is getting upset because of your music blasting his ear drums apart, he's sensitive to noise you imbecile!" She looked over to Y/N to see him curled up in a ball with his hands over his ears, a guilty expression painting her face.
I point my finger to the door. "Get out" is all I say. She obeys and walks out with her head hung low. She knows about his noise sensitivity and yet she still does this, the audacity of some people.
Though my anger was strong and prevalent, I still heard faint whimpers from my side of the room. Y/N was still feeling uncomfortable after all that noise and was curled up in a ball on the floor by my desk. Thing was trying his best to comfort him, but nothing seemed to work.
I walk over to him and sit down opposite him with a gentle smile on my face. I patted my knees indicating for him to sit in my lap, he nodded and crawled into my lap and I hugged him tight, he preferred pressure over feather light touches.
He sniffled quietly, hoping I wouldn't notice. He looked away from so that I wouldn't see the tears streaming down his face like a river, as if I'd resent him for it. I pulled his face by his chin to look at me and offered a reassuring smile. I only ever smile for him.
"It's okay to cry in front of me, I won't be mad. Please don't be afraid to cry in front of me, I don't want you to be scared of me, darling." And with that he broke, he hid his face in my shoulder as I stroked his back, my blazer becoming wet with tears but I didn't care.
"I'm sorry Wednesday, I know you hate emotions." He said through his sobs. I felt my heart break a little, he thought I'd hate him for it.
"No it's okay, sweetheart, it's you so I don't mind at all. I would never be disappointed in you for being upset. Enid is the one I'm disappointed in, she should've been more mindful of your needs."
I pulled back from him. "Can I kiss you?" He nodded and I planted a gentle kiss to his lips. "Wanna cuddle for a bit?" He nodded again and I guided him to my bed.
We sat on the bed and I held him with a vice grip from behind. I wanted to reassure him that he's okay to be emotional around me. I had not realised he feared me so much.
"I won't leave you for being emotional Y/N, you know that right?" I whispered behind him. "I'm always here to listen you, I know it can be hard to operate somedays and it can be overwhelming for you, I'm hoping you'll let me in and help you and comfort you in any way I can." He turned around, he looked taken aback by what I said, I meant everything.
"You would do that? For me?" I smiled and nodded
"I'd do anything for you, mi amor." He leaned forward and kissed me gently, smiling against my lips which I happily returned.
Maybe I'm not unlike my mother and father after all...

it’s been 2 weeks since wednesday addams has arrived at nevermore and xavier hasn’t been talking to you since the mysterious wednesday addams has arrived, it really started to bother you.
it was a saturday, you and xavier always did something on a saturday, watch movies in his dorm, go to the carnival, go to an arcade and stuff, so you decided to text him if he wants to hang out.
y/n: hey, do you wanna hang out today? we haven’t hung out in the past 2 saturdays.
xavs: sorry no, i have plans with wednesday already. maybe next time?
you felt like your heart shattered as you read his message, so you left him on read.
you decided to go to the weathervane to clear your head.
-
you walked in and saw tyler,
“tyler! hi!”
“hey y/n, what would you like?”
“oh, i’ll just have a matcha”
“okay! coming right up”
he brought you your matcha to your table as you both saw xavier and wednesday walk in.
your smile faded as you saw them both together.
“woah, something going on between you guys?” tyler asks as he noticed that your smile faded
“nope, just jealousy i guess” you sigh
tyler sat with you and you drank your matcha.
you could feel xavier’s eyes on you, knowing he was so jealous right now.
you decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and continue this.
the rave’n was tomorrow, so you decided to ask tyler.

the night of the rave’n
you put on your dress and started doing your hair into a braided bun, and enid did your makeup.
you heard a knock on your door and opened it, revealing tyler in a white suit.
“hey, ready to make xavier jealous?” he gave you a smirk
“damn right i am” you say
-
you two walked in and everyone was staring at you two.
xavier was with wednesday but he couldn’t keep his eyes off of you, and wednesday started to notice.
you and tyler went to get drinks, mostly vodka. you had 9 shots already and you were already drunk.
you and tyler went to the dance floor and started to dance to the music.
the music stopped and tyler went to get a drink from himself, you waited for him until you felt a hard grip pulling you outside.
“okay, y/n. can you tell me what’s going on? why’d you go with tyler?”
“and why’d you go with wednesday? stupid” you giggled and almost fell at his chest but he caught you
“are you drunk?” he furrowed his eyebrows
“no.. you are” you say
-
he took you to his dorm and laid you down on his bed
“okay, can you atleast tell me why you went with tyler?”
“i tried to make you jealous because you haven’t talked to me since wednesday has arrived”
“y/n, i was working on a case with her”
“well.. i didn’t know that”
“okay- i have liked you for about 2 years, or more, i want you to be mine only and i want to be yours only. i hate seeing you with other people and it drives me crazy” he rambled
“can i kiss you?” you ask
before he could answer you kissed him on the lips and he pulled you closer, the kiss felt so delicate, you have always wanted this and you finally got it.
you broke the kiss to catch breaths and smiled at him.

hii :) how are you? I hope well <3 I love the way you write so much :)
so, I had this idea in mind for a while, reader is a teacher and she and Larissa have been flirting for months, like there were times when they both wanted to confess their feelings but for fear of the other's rejection no one has ever taken the first move.
the Rave'n arrives and at a certain point the song "i wanna ruin our friendship" starts and reader and Larissa stare at each other from afar
larissa runs away to her office trying to figure out what to do and when she decides to go confess her feelings to reader, she opens the door and reader is standing in front of her
after that you can add whatever you want, possibly smut and fluff
thank you if you will write my request <3
Hello! thank you so much for your request, I truly adored writing it and thought it was an amazing idea - excellent song choice hehe <3 I hope you enjoy it!
Ruin Our Friendship
Larissa Weems x f!reader
words: ~4.4k | ao3 link in title
content/warnings: pining, flirting, fluff, nsfw (smut) - marking, cunnilingus (reader giving)
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
A crisp fall breeze blew your hair off your shoulders as you walked up to the doors of the Weathervane during your lunch break, excited to treat yourself to a coffee before the afternoon staff meeting.
As you entered the little café, you spied Larissa standing in line waiting to place her order. Your heart fluttered at the sight of her - you’d had a crush on your boss since starting at Nevermore the previous year (you couldn’t fathom how anyone couldn’t have a crush on the statuesque blonde), and you’d even managed to form a friendship with her, bonding over your shared love of music, old films and literary classics. As of late, though, you felt the lines of your friendship blurring more and more as the two of you had developed a teasing, flirty undertone to your conversations.
That fact thrilled you - flirting with Larissa was fun, exhilarating - as much as it terrified you. You were almost certain it was nothing more than a passing game for her; after all, she seemed to have a rather flirtatious nature in general. To you, though, it was much more. With doubts about her intentions at the back of your mind, you were hesitant to share your feelings with the blonde - surely being rejected by your boss wouldn't exactly be an ideal move for your career (or for your heart, for that matter).
You began to cross the café and make your way to the line to order, intent on engaging in conversation with Larissa, when a man who seemed to have similar intentions tapped Larissa on the shoulder.
Not recognizing him, you slowed your gait, curiosity getting the better of you. When the man placed his hand on Larissa’s arm, she pulled away instantly, looking visibly uncomfortable.
“Hey, baby, haven’t seen you around these parts.” His voice was so sleazy and, as his gaze traveled Larissa’s body, it lingered far too long on her long legs, then on her breasts, which he was almost face to face with at his height.
Without thinking, you sidled up to the taller woman and wrapped an arm possessively around her waist, ignoring the small squeak she let out and gazing up at her with the most lovey-dovey eyes you could muster (as if that were even hard).
“Hi, baby,” you purred, smiling coyly up at her. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting.”
You rose up on your toes a bit so you could reach her cheek, pressing your lips gently to her cheekbone, then turning your head away from the man’s view and whispering in her ear, “Follow my lead.”
You glanced over at the man who was watching you, his face slowly turning scarlet.
“And who might this be? Have we met before?” You offered him a sickly-sweet smile, waiting for a reply as his mouth opened and closed like a fish.
“Uh, sorry,” a voice interrupted timidly from behind the counter, and you turned to see Tyler’s eyes darting between the three of you. “Did you want to order something?”
With a final look of disdain towards the stranger, you turned your attention fully to Tyler, unaware of how your hand was gently stroking across the fabric of Larissa’s dress in a soothing pattern, even more unaware of how Larissa was desperately trying (and failing) to ignore the way this made heat pool in her core.
“Could I please get a latte to go? Honey, what would you like?” Larissa looked down at you with wide eyes, still processing her current situation. After what felt like an eternity she replied, “I’ll have the same,” her eyes still trained on you.
You briefly let go of Larissa in order to search your bag for your credit card to pay, then took her hand in your own and all but pulled her to the other end of the long counter to wait for your drinks. Her hand was warm and soft and your skin tingled where it met hers.
“Y/N?” Larissa whispered when you didn’t let go of her hand.
“He’s still watching,” you whispered back, all too aware of the man’s eyes boring a hole in the back of your skull.
And maybe you weren’t ready to let go, not yet - not now, when you knew how it felt to hold her hand.
~~~
The staff meeting that afternoon was, admittedly, a bit boring. But boring was just what Larissa needed to ground herself after your little stunt at the Weathervane had left her dazed and, if she was honest with herself, extremely aroused.
She found herself unable to focus on Coach Vlad’s proposal for a higher fencing budget and, instead, found her eyes drifting over to you. With each glance at you the heat in her core spread further, until it felt as though her entire body was ablaze. Her cheek still tingled from where you’d kissed her, her waist felt like you’d branded it with your hand.
You’d only been doing her a favor, she reminded herself. It didn’t mean anything - it was simply girl code. No one had ever done something like that for her, and she supposed she should be grateful - after all, you had saved her from having to have one of the worst possible conversations of her life.
When the meeting was over and the staff stood and began shuffling out, Larissa called your name and asked you to stay behind. She would simply thank you, that’s all.
“Yes, Larissa?” You smiled brightly at her and she felt her cheeks warm under your gaze as she struggled to find the right words.
“Thank you,” she said finally. “For what you did for me at the Weathervane - you saved me from an absolute headache of a conversation.” She paused. “And thank you for the coffee, I can pay you back,” she added, reaching for her purse.
“No, it’s fine,” you insisted. “You don’t have to pay me back, it’s just a coffee. And of course, what are friends for? I couldn’t just stand there and watch that slimy man throw himself at you.”
Friends. The word made Larissa’s stomach churn uncomfortably. If that’s all you saw her as…
“Yes, well, I appreciate it, nonetheless.” Larissa forced a smile to her lips.
A charged silence filled the air, both of you still thinking about the kiss you’d pressed to Larissa’s cheek, both of you too nervous to address it.
“Oh, I’ve been meaning to ask - will you be at the Rave’N?” Larissa asked, as nonchalantly as possible, subconsciously fidgeting with the sleeve of her blazer.
“Are you asking me as a girlfriend?” You giggled as you said it - Larissa could feel it was a joke but her entire body tensed up anyway.
“I-I was just finishing up the chaperone list, actually,” she stuttered out, not quite able to fully meet your gaze as she unconsciously straightened her posture.
“It was just a joke,” you said softly, offering the blonde a warm smile which she hesitantly returned. “In that case though, yeah, sign me up.”
Larissa nodded numbly.
“I should go though, my class is starting soon and I would hate for my boss to find out I was late.” You tossed Larissa a wink and left her in the staff room.
Larissa stood rooted to the spot, stunned and even more confused than before.
~~~
Stationing yourself on the end of the dance floor farthest from Larissa was for the best, really. At least that’s what you told yourself. From all the way across the room, you wouldn’t be tempted to shower her with compliments. You wouldn’t be tempted to wrap your arms around her waist. You wouldn’t be tempted to drag her onto the dance floor, or pull her close, or rise onto your toes to press your lips to hers. You wouldn’t be tempted to do something you’d surely regret, something that would ruin the beautiful friendship you’d developed over the past months.
The song changed and you tried to focus on the music to distract your wandering thoughts.
Jenny, darling, you're my best friend But there's a few things that you don't know of Why I borrow your lipstick so often I'm using your shirt as a pillow case
You recognized the song immediately. It always reminded you of a certain blonde principal who had caught your eye, though you would certainly never admit it. You took a sip of your Yeti-tini and allowed your eyes to wander the room, taking in the dancing students. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, even Wednesday Addams, and it made you smile into your drink.
Your gaze wandered further until you locked eyes with the one person you’d been mercilessly avoiding since your arrival. Larissa’s shining sapphires bore into your own, her expression wistful - God she looked so beautiful. Elegant, poised - the picture of grace. Then a blush colored her cheeks, embarrassment making itself known on her face as the two of you simultaneously registered the lyrics thumping out of the speaker.
I wanna ruin our friendship We should be lovers instead I don't know how to say this 'Cause you're really my dearest friend
It was as if everything around you was slowing down. You barely registered the thumping of the bass, the bodies of students swirling around you as you stood rooted to the spot, dumbstruck. The only thing you could focus on was the way Larissa’s eyes widened, the way her lips parted, the feeling of your own body coming to life as a buzzing spread throughout your limbs.
You took a step forward, your concentration momentarily broken when a student bumped into you, and you looked down to apologize profusely. When you looked up again, Larissa was gone.
~~~
It was only after she’d shut herself in her office that Larissa finally felt like she could breathe again. She leaned with her back against the door, tipping her head backwards and shutting her eyes, taking a moment to breathe deeply and to get her racing pulse under control.
Larissa was normally an expert at keeping her desires under wraps. She was nothing if not in control - when it came to everything except for you, apparently. You looked so enticing tonight, Larissa had noticed it the second you’d walked in. She hadn’t allowed her eyes to roam over your figure until you’d turned away, of course, but the second you had she’d traced your curves, the way your suit clung to your body and emphasized your figure in a way that left her mouth dry.
She’d wanted nothing more in that moment than to steal you away, to leave lingering kisses all over your body until you were whimpering with anticipation, until you were begging her to take you - and then she would. She would push you up against a wall and mark you hers, make you scream her name until the whole school could hear who you belonged to.
Did you feel the same way? she wondered, her heart racing as she considered your encounters over the past months. The sexual charge in the air when you were around was undeniable. Could you feel it, too? You’d seemed open to her advances, to her flirting, but she’d been too afraid to make a move - the last thing she’d wanted was to come on too strong if her feelings were not reciprocated.
The heavy throb between her legs was becoming too much to bear, and Larissa decided she needed to try. She would hate herself if she didn’t. With a steadying breath, she turned and opened the door - in an instant, she felt the air leave her lungs, frozen at the sight of you standing there, eyes wide.
~~~
It took you a few seconds to register that Larissa had left. You stood at the center of the dance floor, clutching your empty cup to your chest. Should you go after her? Would she want that? There had to have been a reason she’d left during that song, after seeing you. Surely it wasn’t a coincidence. Surely you weren’t delusional.
You didn’t realize you’d set into motion until you were halfway to Larissa’s office. You slowed as the door came into sight, a door that you’d knocked on and entered through a hundred times before but that suddenly seemed imposing - a door that taunted you.
Would Larissa even be in her office? What if she’d left because you’d made her uncomfortable, and she simply wanted to get away from you? What if-
Your ruminating was cut short by a loud creak as the very door you were staring at opened, revealing a shocked Larissa.
“Larissa,” you breathed out, suddenly feeling your heartbeat in your throat.
The blonde was seemingly frozen as she stared at you, mouth agape, until finally she croaked out, “I was just coming to find you.”
“Oh,” was all you could say in response.
“Would you like to come in?” She sounded almost timid, and that filled you with hope. You nodded and she stepped aside, allowing you to enter her office before shutting the door behind you.
The two of you stood in her office, a tense silence blanketing the room. There had to be a reason she was coming to find you, didn’t there? Your mind raced as you tried to come up with something, anything to say to stave off the awkwardness that surrounded you both.
“Larissa-”
“Y/N-”
You both spoke at the same time, and Larissa chuckled nervously while you felt a heat rise in your cheeks.
“Please,” she said, gesturing for you to speak.
“Larissa, I…” You searched her eyes, those icy blue irises that you would happily drown in. They stared back at you with an intensity that set you ablaze - you were suddenly warm, everything was warm as a heat radiated from your core. “Oh, for fucks sake.” You surged forward, bringing a hand to the back of Larissa’s head to pull her towards you as you captured her lips with your own.
You half expected the kiss to be hesitant, for Larissa to push you away - what you didn’t expect was the ferocity with which Larissa kissed you back. Her hands gripped at your waist, pulling you closer until you were flush against her as her tongue swiped at the seam of your lips.
Larissa licked into your mouth, letting out a soft whimper as your tongue slid against hers. Her lips felt heavenly against your own, warm and pillow-soft - eager. You slid one hand into her updo, tugging at the silky strands while your other hand cupped her cheek.
“Darling,” she whispered, pulling back ever so slightly. Her gaze lingered for a moment on your lips before flicking up to meet your eyes. “Why did you come to my office?”
There was uncertainty in her tone, but also hope, and your breath stuttered in your chest.
“I-” you struggled to get the words - any words - out. “I’m nervous,” you whispered hoarsely, searching Larissa’s face.
Her previously intense gaze softened slightly and she smiled timidly. “So am I,” she whispered back, her grip tightening imperceptibly on your waist.
“I kissed you on the cheek at the Weathervane.” You were still whispering, almost afraid to say the words out loud. “I couldn’t stop thinking about that.”
“Neither could I.” Larissa’s voice was low and breathy.
“I’m very attracted to you.” God, was that an understatement.
“I’m very attracted to you, too.” You could feel Larissa’s hot breath on your face as she spoke - it sent a shiver down your spine.
You leaned in slightly, your lips brushing faintly against hers - a question. Larissa responded by closing the remainder of the gap, pressing her lips firmly to yours.
“I would very much like to show you how beautiful you are,” you murmured between kisses.
“Far be it from me to stop you.” You could feel Larissa’s smirk against your lips and you dropped your hands to her hips, fisting at the fabric of her dress.
Larissa’s lips barely left your own as she guided you to her adjacent quarters, maneuvering around the small apartment until you reached the bedroom, the backs of your knees bumping into the edge of the bed.
The taller woman gently pushed your shoulders, causing you to fall back onto the bed. She stared hungrily down at you for a moment, cheeks flushed, pupils blown.
“Are you sure about this?” She sounded breathless.
You nodded fervently, earning you a raised eyebrow. “Words, darling,” Larissa all but pleaded.
“Yes, I’m sure.” That you were, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
A smile graced Larissa’s features, which quickly turned into a smirk as she towered over you. She set her hands on the bed, on either side of your hips, hovering over you. When she leaned in, you thought she might kiss you again, but she bypassed your lips and went straight for your throat, finding your pulse point within seconds and beginning to nibble and suck at the sensitive flesh.
“Larissa,” you moaned, heat pooling between your legs as you felt her warm, wet tongue soothe over the side of your neck, over the marks that would surely turn purple come morning.
You reached around her back, finding the zipper of her dress. “May I?”
Larissa hummed her consent and you dragged the zipper down as far as it would go, then helped Larissa push the sleeves of the dress down her arms. She stood again, a vision before you - her skin was milky white and dotted in tiny, pale freckles, breasts cupped by lacy white fabric, her dress pooling at her hips, the slight swell of her lower belly on display. You could feel your mouth go dry.
“You’re staring.” Larissa’s breathy voice forced your gaze upwards - her cheeks were pink, her eyes half-lidded as she looked down at you.
“You’re gorgeous.” You couldn’t help the emotional sincerity that laced your tone, and Larissa’s face flushed further.
You placed your hands on Larissa’s hips, holding her gaze as you leaned in slowly. You pressed your lips to her belly, the skin soft and warm against your mouth. A plethora of kisses was littered across the expanse of her stomach as you used your hands to push the dress over her hips and allow it to pool at her feet.
Then your hands came to the waistband of her panties, pulling them down slightly, revealing her mound, covered in a patch of neatly trimmed blonde curls. You allowed the panties to drop the rest of the way down Larissa’s legs as you focused your attention between her thighs, pressing a kiss to her mound then looking up in question.
“Would it be alright if I taste you?” you whispered, watching a visible shiver travel up Larissa’s spine.
“Yes,” came her soft reply.
You took her hands in your own, guiding her onto the bed. She leaned back against the pillows and spread her legs, watching you with parted lips as you shrugged off your suit jacket and slowly unbuttoned your shirt, tossing the clothes into a heap at the foot of the bed. Your pants came next, until you were left in only your bra and panties.
Settling between her legs, you began to cover every inch of her inner thighs with soft, barely there kisses, until Larissa’s hips were bucking towards your mouth.
The scent of her arousal hung heavy in the air already, her cunt glistening enticingly. The moment your tongue made contact with her slit, a loud moan tore from Larissa’s throat, the sound so erotic that you were certain your own panties were now drenched.
You dragged your tongue slowly through Larissa’s folds, letting out a moan of your own at the heavenly taste. Your tongue reached her swollen bundle of nerves and her hips twitched beneath you. Circling the sensitive bud with your tongue, you wrapped your arms around Larissa’s creamy thighs to steady yourself.
There was a flurry of movement and you looked up through your lashes, groaning as you saw that Larissa had removed her bra and was palming her breasts, rolling her own pert, pink nipples into hard peaks. Your groan seemed to send a shockwave of pleasure through the blonde as she let out a whimper and bucked her hips upwards.
Larissa rolled her hips against your face, finding a steady pace to match the ministrations of your tongue as you alternated between laving her folds and sucking her clit.
“You’re doing so well for me,” you murmured between licks, eyes trained on Larissa as she writhed against the sheets. She looked down at you, her gaze meeting yours, and a knot began to form in your belly. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, her chest flushed and heaving, her cheeks pink, her hair spilling out of its updo in messy waves.
Her lips parted and she looked like she was about to say something, but then you latched onto her clit and her head fell back onto the bed as she let out a guttural moan.
“Please, can you- inside,” Larissa panted, and you quickly obliged, pushing a finger into her dripping hole.
“So beautiful,” you said, breathless and in awe, before returning your mouth to her clit as you began to pump your finger in and out of her in a steady rhythm. Larissa matched the thrusts of your fingers, and as she seemed to get more comfortable, you pushed in a second finger. She groaned as her walls clenched slightly at the intrusion.
“Does this feel good?” You curled your fingers inside of her, finding her sweet spot, and Larissa let out a breathy, “Yes, God, yes.”
A few more thrusts of your fingers had Larissa arching her back off the mattress, her bucking hips struggling to keep your steady rhythm as you began to pump your fingers even faster.
You could feel her thighs begin to close around your head, trembling slightly, and you blindly reached out a hand, feeling the mattress next to her for her own hand. She grabbed it, intertwining your fingers with a firm grip while her other hand came to rest in your hair, gently but firmly tugging you closer.
“Good girl,” you said tenderly and Larissa whimpered, squeezing the life out of your hand as she teetered over the edge. You caught the arousal leaking from her core with your tongue, lapping happily away at her essence and allowing her to ride out her high on your fingers.
Once her breathing had slowed and her thighs had loosened their grip on your head, you pulled out of her and crawled up to hover over her, holding out your wet fingers for her to taste herself. Larissa’s eyes fluttered shut and she sucked the digits into her mouth, rosy cheeks hollowing out, moaning as she swirled her tongue around them.
She released your fingers with a pop, opening her eyes to meet your own. Her gaze was all-consuming - hunger and desire were reflected clearly in inky black pupils, but there was something else there, too, something that had your heart doing somersaults within your ribcage.
“Larissa?” you said softly, your voice cracking on the last syllable.
Larissa looked up at you, eyes wide and expectant.
“At the risk of-” your breath caught in your throat, your voice barely above a whisper. “At the risk of ruining everything-”
Your heart hammered in your chest as you searched Larissa’s face for any hint of emotion, but she had schooled her face into an impassive mask.
“I don’t just want this to be about sex…”
There was no going back now.
“I- I really like you, Larissa.”
You swallowed hard against the lump forming in your throat as Larissa’s eyes flicked between your own, the seconds ticking by.
“I really like you, too, Y/N,” she whispered finally, cupping your cheek with one hand as the other found the nape of your neck, pulling you slowly towards her until your lips met. The kiss was soft and emotional - it left you breathless.
“Larissa?”
“Yes?”
“Would you… would you like to go on a date with me?”
A soft smile broke out across Larissa’s face, her cheeks dusted pink. “I would love to, darling.”
Your stomach filled with warmth as you leaned in to press a bruising kiss to Larissa’s lips, which she quickly deepened with a soft moan. You could scarcely have imagined, even just last week, that your flirtations with the woman beneath you could lead to anything. Finally feeling her strong arms encircle your waist, feeling her tongue against yours, hearing confirmation that your feelings were returned, was more than you could have ever wished for.
~~~
Larissa stood in front of your fellow teachers at the staff meeting the following Thursday. Her gaze flicked over to you and you nodded encouragingly. She cleared her throat.
“Before we end the meeting, I have something I’d like to speak on. It appears a rumor has begun to spread around Nevermore that Ms. Y/L/N and I are dating. I wanted to address this rumor before it gets out of hand.” Larissa paused, taking a glance at you to ground herself.
“We have, in fact, begun seeing each other this past week. I want to make it perfectly clear, however, that this will not affect our professional relationship, nor will it affect my relationship with any member of our staff. I will not favor Ms. Y/L/N, and I would like to continue to foster an open, honest environment among our staff. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to come to me.”
Marilyn cleared her throat and raised her hand from the table to draw attention to herself. “I have a question.”
“Yes, Ms. Thornhill?” Larissa said with a hesitant smile.
“Were you guys seeing each other before the Rave’N, too?”
Larissa’s gaze flicked over to you, brow furrowing slightly. You shrugged and nodded your head once, gesturing for Larissa to answer the question how she saw fit.
“No, Ms. Thornhill. We began seeing each other after the Rave’N.”
A deafening silence filled the room. And then-
“Alright, pay up,” Marilyn said triumphantly, her lips forming into a smirk as she held her hand out on the table and wiggled her fingers. Several other teachers grumbled and dug around in their bags and pockets, tossing folded up bills in Marilyn’s direction - most notably Coach Vlad, who handed her a crumpled hundred-dollar bill with a huff and muttered “you sure you’re not a psychic, normie?”
Larissa looked at you with wide eyes, but from your puzzled expression, you seemed to be just as in the dark as she was.
“Ms. Thornhill, what is the meaning of this?”
“We made a bet on whether or not you two were already together. My colleagues seemed to think you’ve been together for quite some time now and have chosen to hide it from the rest of us.” Marilyn stated matter-of-factly.
“And you?”
Marilyn’s smirk grew. “I knew you didn’t have the guts to ask each other out.”
Happy One Year Anniversary
summary: it's your and Wednesday's anniversary
warning/s: not so angst(?)
a/n: I'm listening to from the dining table by Harry Styles while writing it and look what came out of my mind. i hate it
request from: @unforgettwble-sumii !! "Heyyy! could I pls request a Wednesday x fem reader where it's Wednesday and reader's one year anniversary but Wednesday forgot cuz she got busy with work? Thank you!! " thank you for requesting!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's our anniversary and I can't wait to hang out with Wednesday all day! I already had a list of our activities that i want to do. I texted Wednesday telling her to meet me at our usual spot in the weathervane, yet she haven't read it. Overthinking clouded my thoughts but I shooed it away and went with my morning routine.
It was 10:30 am yet still no response, I'm starting to feel that something ain't right. i tried to busy myself with anything; I cleaned the whole apartment, baked some cookies, do the laundry, empty the dishwasher, baked cookies again, sweep the floors, paint, take a bath, and now I'm currently listening to music.
I've been listening to music for hours now and i decided to take a walk around the block to ease my mind a bit. I went to different stores trying to find something that will catch my attention and let me forget this bubbling anxiety building up. I'm on my way back home and it was already 3:45 in the afternoon, I almost forgot about our anniversary date. I get on a bus and went home to prepare for our date, oblivious at the fact that my message are still on delivered.
I took a bath and dressed up not too fancy. I look at my watch and it reads 4:20 pm, I grabbed my keys and got out of our apartment and went to the cafe. I was skipping my way to the said cafe and stopped in my tracks when I saw something I'm not supposed to see.
There she is my girlfriend, Wednesday Addams, with her not so lovely partner, Tyler motherfucking Galpin. She's laughing about something he said, probably talking about their on going case. I've never seen her laughed like that with anyone, she only laugh like that when she's with me. I'm lost with my thoughts that I didn't notice that my feet are moving on it's own, then stopping right in front of them. She looks like a kid that has been caught stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. She opened her mouth to say something yet no words came out, she was dumbfounded like she doesn't know what am I doing here?
I smiled at her with a teary eyes, I don't know what to say. Should I say sorry? Should I ask for her forgiveness? Should I ask her if she remembered our anniversary? Then reality hit me like a ten wheeler truck. She fucking forgot our anniversary. "Happy one year anniversary, Wednesday" I smiled at her once again before I stormed out of the cafe.
Lights Out
Summary: You’re touring a haunted house with Matt, and the entire building loses power when a thunderstorm arrives. On the bright side, you’ve got Matt to lead you out (when he’s not taking advantage of your inability to see).
Pairing: Matt x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Creepy haunted house imagery, swears
Tumblr media
The sign for local attractions on the highway was battered and scratched, bearing the words HAUNTED HOUSE — EXIT 64. Rain pounded on the windshield as you drove; it was a long seven hours from the weekend holiday you’d taken with Matt back to Hell’s Kitchen, and you were only halfway done the drive. There was obviously no way for Matt to switch off with you, so instead he kept pushing for rest stops so that you could stretch your legs from the driving, despite your assurance to him that it was okay.
You pulled into a parking spot outside the attraction, mud and dirt grinding under the tires. Once the key was out of the ignition, the silence of the engine was eerily fitting for the view of the haunted mansion in front of you, especially with the pounding of the rain on the roof.
“Wow,” you said, peering up at it. “This thing’s actually pretty big. It looks Gothic — there’s a rounded tower-like part on the left, with bay windows, I think. In the center where the roof is highest, it’s pointy and there’s a weathervane with a skull on top. The outside is painted a really ugly purple. Oh, and the decorations are awesome. They look genuine, too; gravestones, a body sticking out of the chimney, blood splattered all over the front porch. Ha. There’s even a hearse parked next to us.”
“Scary or corny, overall?”
“It looks pretty good. I’d say it’s scary but you’re here with me,” you said, grabbing his hand. “Ready?”
You paid at the ticket booth and then entered the mansion. Only once you were safely inside, far from any of the workers, did Matt drop his hand from your arm. “There’s no one else here,” he said. “Just you and me.”
You nodded at a skeleton sitting at a piano. “And Mr. Bones right there.”
Matt tilted his head. “There’s a motion sensor ahead. Probably there’s going to be a jump scare.”
“Well, it’s not a jump scare anymore,” you said, rolling your eyes. “How much of this can you sense, anyway?”
“It’s... kind of a confusing influx of sensory details. Different machines behind the walls for all the animatronics and music, weird smells coming from everything, and I can feel the shifts in air pressure when something’s moving. It’s all kind of a... bonfire of input.”
Sure enough, a vampire sprung out of a coffin moments later, and even with Matt’s warning you still flinched, heart skipping a beat when it shrieked at you. The layout of the mansion was narrow and winding; different hallways took you through a variety of different rooms and scares. Some of the sights were admittedly scary; an animatronic girl with stringy hair and an axe came flying out of the shadows, and even the floorboards and doors beside you would buckle unexpectedly as you passed by them. To your delight, one of the picture frames turned to life and even caught Matt off guard — you felt him stir slightly beside you. The path through the mansion took you up two flights of stairs, all the way to the top floor of the house.
“It’s a kitchen!” you said, admiring the decorations. “With — ew. Blood coming out of the faucet. And fingers baking in the oven.”
But Matt had his head tilted slightly towards the window. “Lightning’s about to strike,” he said suddenly, and true to his word, a massive flash lit up the entire room only a second later. The clap of thunder that followed was nearly simultaneous with the lightning, and rattled the mansion so hard that the window shook.
And that was when the mansion lost power. Everything, all at once, fell silent as though it had been muted, and you were plunged from shadowy, dim lighting into absolute pitch blackness.
“Matt?” you said uncertainly, reaching out for him and only finding empty space. The thought of all the things around you — amusing only moments ago — suddenly made your heart spike.
“Right here.” Matt grabbed your hand and squeezed it. “Any light coming in at all?”
You waved your hand in front of your eyes. “Nothing. It’s like a black hole in here. And of course we left our phones in the car,” you grumbled, shifting closer to Matt. “A flashlight would be nice.”
“No light is coming in through the window?”
“Only when there’s lightning. And I don’t think there are many windows in this labyrinth.” Gingerly you stepped forward. “This is... not fun.”
“I’m personally very offended by how opposed you are to being visually impaired.”
You frowned. “You make fun of my bad hearing all the time — which, by the way, is not bad hearing, it’s simply normal-person hearing.”
“I think it’s bad hearing.”
“We’re allowed to make fun of each other’s senses,” you continued. “That’s the most important tenet of dating someone.”
“Oh, really? Then I’m free to tell you that you’ve got absolutely terrible common sense?”
“Ha, ha. You’re so clever,” you deadpanned. “Are we out of the creepy kitchen yet?"
“Yeah.” Matt nudged you to the right. “This way.”
“Are we close to the exit?”
“No. It’s probably another ten minute walk, at the very least.”
“Lovely. Why doesn’t this place have a generator?”
“It should. This could be a huge liability. If someone got hurt and decided to sue, the owners could easily get in trouble.”
“Only someone who had to endure the trauma of a bar exam would think about liabilities when the power goes out,” you said appreciatively. “So... we’ve got two flights of stairs to go down?”
“Three. The exit’s in the basement,” Matt said. “Watch out. There’s fake cobwebs ahead of us.”
You were glad for the warning, because the revolting sensation of gossamer threads brushing against your face would have otherwise been disturbing. Lightning flashed again, illuminating the hallway, and for a moment you were face-to-face with a ghastly clown that was grinning beside you. You yelped, nearly falling backwards into Matt. Adrenaline soared through you, and you couldn’t help but squint through the darkness in an attempt to make sure the clown wasn’t moving. It was to no avail — when the lightning was gone, so was any visibility.
“Take a deep breath,” Matt said, nudging you with his shoulder. “Your heart’s going a hundred miles an hour.”
“There’s a clown, Matt.”
“And he’s made of rubber, wood, and plastic.”
Lightning flashed again, and you winced at the clown’s companion, a bloody jester gloating on your left. “Are the haunted house workers coming in to help?”
“No. There’s only one worker, and based on the way her heart jumped with the power going out, I highly doubt she’s going to walk alone into a haunted mansion with all the lights off. Careful, the hallway twists a bit right here.” Matt gently guided you to the left. You went forward reluctantly, feeling that you were about to walk into something at any second despite your trust in Matt. “And there are two steps down right here.”
“Right where?” you asked, slowing to a halt.
“Right here, in front of us.”
Anxiously you edged your toe forward, feeling for the drop of the step. “This is incredibly creepy.”
“I’ll tell you when to step. Just keep going, and step downward when I say.” Matt tugged you forward, and you resisted, moving as carefully as possible until you were down the steps.
“I don’t like this,” you informed him. “Because I know for a fact that there are probably zombies or vampires or something in here.”
“Dolls, actually.”
“Oh, God. Are you serious?”
Matt laughed. “At least, I think they’re dolls. Ceramic faces, stringy hair, small size.” He took your hand and guided it in front of you. “Here. Want to feel one?”
“No!”
“There are lots of dolls in here. And it feels... dark. Wait.” Matt’s hand suddenly held yours more tightly.
“Well, I could’ve told you it’s dark in here.”
“No. I mean... a different type of dark.” Matt was silent, and you imagined he was cocking his head.
“What is it?” you asked, squinting around as though it would suddenly help you to see the surroundings.
“Something’s moving,” he whispered. “One of the dolls.”
“What? What do you mean?”
“I mean a doll is moving,” he repeated. “Wait here—”
And then he pulled his hand away from yours, lost in the blackness of the house.
“Shit!” you yelped, hugging yourself. “Matt! Don’t leave me here!”
There was a small crash to your left, and then footsteps, slow and creaking, from behind you. Holy shit holy shit fuck fuck fuck fuckkkkk—
“Matt!” you shrieked. “Come back!”
And then, you felt something behind you, and the warm exhale of someone breathing near your ear. “Boo,” Matt said, in a low voice, and you automatically swung around so quickly with your fist that you would have socked him in the face, had he not caught your wrist first.
“Shit – sorry, I didn’t mean to almost punch you—” You stopped yourself, mid-apology. “What the hell, Matt? You’re awful! How could you do that to me?”
To your indignation, he actually chuckled, sounding so damn pleased with himself that you would’ve marched away and continued on your own if you could actually see. “You know, I think that’s the fastest I’ve ever heard your heart go.”
“Yeah, because you almost gave me a heart attack.”
“I’m sorry.” Matt wrapped an arm around you as he continued steering you forward. “But you must have known that this was coming, sweetheart.”
“Um, no, I didn’t think I had it ‘coming’ because I thought I could trust my boyfriend to lead me out of a freaking pitch-black haunted mansion without trying to prank me like a five-year-old—”
“I couldn’t resist.”
“You couldn’t resist. Oh, well, that justifies it,” you grumbled, pushing at him again. “How much longer until we’re out of here?”
“Stairs to the first floor are right in front of us. Then we’re almost to the basement.” Matt dropped one of his hands so that it was on your lower back. “Your eyes haven’t adjusted at all?”
“I think the clouds are too thick for any moonlight to come through. And, of course, the lightning now decides to not flash at all.” You wished you could simply sense your surroundings like Matt could. “You’re amazing.”
“Weren’t you just saying I was awful?”
“No, really. I mean, the fact that you’re able to do all that you do, considering you can’t see; and me, the second I can’t see, I’m completely useless. It just makes me admire so much more the way that—”
“Stairs,” Matt warned. “Thirteen steps.”
“Thanks. But it just makes me admire so much more the way you... honed your senses, I guess. I mean, how many girls can brag that their blind boyfriend easily led them out of a haunted house with the navigation skills of someone with night-vision goggles?”
“It’s easier than you’d think.” Matt stopped suddenly, his fingers lightly raising to brush your upper arm and spin you so that your back was pressed into his chest. “Listen.”
You obeyed, falling as quiet as possible. Even this close to Matt, though, you couldn’t hear his heartbeat. “Matt, I’m not going to magically have your ability to hear well—”
“You don’t need my level of hearing,” Matt said. “Sometimes you just need to listen more closely. Hear that whistling?”
You focused. It was faint, but audible. “Yeah.”
“What’s that coming from?”
“Sounds like the wind coming through a vent.” Realization dawned on you. “Which means that there’s a wall in front of us.”
“Exactly. And did you hear that scuffle above us?”
“Yeah, that thump?” You hadn’t even paid attention to it until now. “It was probably that worker, right? Which means... we’re in the back lefthand corner of the house.”
“See? Easier than it seems,” Matt said, leaning in and kissing your temple. “You’re a natural, sweetheart.”
You smiled, feeling heat rise up your neck. “That’s really nice of you, but I know what you’re up to. You feel guilty for scaring me earlier and now you’re trying to make up for it with flattery.”
“Floor gets squishy right here,” Matt said suddenly, and you were glad for the warning as the wooden floorboards beneath your feet unexpectedly transitioned to foam. “They really went all-out with this haunted house.”
“Too bad we’re missing most of it. And... Matt, I love you for guiding me, but can we please slow down?” you said, leaning backwards to reduce the speed Matt was leading you at. “I feel like I’m about to walk into a wall.”
“Sorry.” Matt slowed his pace. “We’re almost out. You know, I’ll miss this a bit.”
“What, me being temporarily blind?”
“Yeah. Because you can’t see things like this coming.”
“Things like what—?”
But then Matt’s lips were on yours, passionate and hard, as he pressed you backwards into what was presumably a normal wall and hopefully not an upright coffin or anything gory. You made a small sound of surprise and kissed him back, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. Matt’s left hand cupped the back of your head, and his right groped underneath your shirt on your lower back; goosebumps ran up and down your arms.
And then, without warning, the lights flooded on, machines and animatronics beside you whirring to life. You jumped, heart skipping at the massive demon leering on the ceiling above you. Painted flames danced on the walls and a horned mannequin, eyes blinking and head rotating back and forth, grinned at you deviously. “Oh, God. We’re in Hell, I think.”
“We are? I wasn’t really paying attention.” Matt leaned in and kissed you one more time. “Your body was just a bit distracting.”
“Okay. New idea, Matt,” you said, staring at the fiery devil as it continued to sneer at you. “I see a really, really, really amazing photo opportunity. If the attendant lets me, I’m going to run and get my phone from the car quickly, then I’ll be back.”
“You’re going to abandon a blind man in a haunted mansion? How will I ever know where to go if you’re not allowed back inside to guide me?”
You laughed. “I’ll convince her to let me back in.”
And that was how, a week later, you happily received a photo print in the mail: Matt standing beside an animatronic devil, pointing at it with his thumb and smiling widely.
A/N: This is based off of a really neat haunted mansion that I visited on Prince Edward Island awhile back. Happy almost Halloween, everyone!
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
Music.
It's coming from outside your window.
You strain your ears, and they manage to catch the all-too-familiar tune. It's frickin' Aerosmith blasting in the middle of the night.
Great. Now you look like an idiot from some cliche romantic comedy movie—tears streaming down your cheeks with snotty tissue papers scattered about your bedsheets, a pathetic teenager bawling their eyes out with a love song playing in the background.
Wednesday, the girl of your dreams, was never yours.
It feels funny. How you thought that after leaving Wednesday yet again for the second time that evening, you would finally find peace in the four walls of your dorm space. But instead, here you are, throat hoarse, eyes stinging, chest ragged, nose sniffling, and some psycho has decided to interrupt your much-needed de-stressing session.
The universe must hate you.
You plop down your bed while your eyelids close, drowning in the all-consuming black void while the faint chord of music continues to play. A sound escaped your lips. A defeated chortle. It sounded so weak that you were almost sure it hadn't come out of you, the voice so uncharacteristic of your usual relaxed, carefree laughter.
Memories of your latest cafe commotion flash through your mind, and you feel your heart sinks and touch your diaphragm.
Is this it? Have you been reduced to a heartbroken pathetic fool? The obnoxious images assault your brain, and you scream into your pillow as you give in to the torture, mind re-living the appalling incident at Weathervane.
"Whoa, who are you?" the man across from you and Wednesday asked, his trunk no longer attached to the sofa booth, legs standing up hurriedly at Wednesday's intimidating display.
Wednesday pulls the side of your body closer, both your hips bruisingly pressed to each other as she speaks, "I believe I should ask you the same question."
You squirm under Wednesday's tight grip, unable to decide if you should break free or admit defeat and stay at your place. You chose the latter, partly to assess the situation but also because you've stupidly missed her touch, despite how much you wish to smack the face of the girl standing beside you.
The man's face contorts into confusion before his brows shoot up and his mouth gapes, finally coming to an irksome realization.
"You- you're that outcast from the freak school, right?"
Wednesday, a freak, though she wasn't the only one.
"Your obviously puny brain might want to try coming up with something a little more descriptive than that."
The man ignored Wednesday's insult, finger now raised to point at the raven-haired girl. "No, yeah, I remember you. You're that crazy girl who played cello while the ceremony caught fire."
He takes a small step back from the two of you, the tissue paper in his hand now crumpled. "They said you were the one who staged it all."
"I have to say, the town's people here might not be too dense after all," came Wednesday's haughty reply, and you're starting to get sick of the pointless banter displayed.
The man turns his face to you, "We should go, like now."
You didn't move from your spot—or rather you can't. Wednesday's arm wraps around you more firmly, and you don't know if you hate the feeling of it; the hint of possessiveness in the gesture offers sweet promises and false hope.
Wednesday, the black dahlia that will be the death of you.
It doesn't take a genius to find out, so the next words that come out of the man's mouth are no surprise.
"Wait, you know this girl?" the person you've yet to learn their name asked, and when you didn't answer, he took another step back, his hands now coming up to pull on the base of his hair in horror.
"I can't believe you're friends with this psychopath," and you feel your stomach churn at the man's words. Not at his obviously condescending tone or the sudden behavior change but at the word he chose to use.
Wednesday, a friend. Is that how he sees the two of you?
Even a stranger seems to think this, so could it be true? Oh, how you want to say no because friends don't act this way. They don't get upset about dates; they don't go on those. The romantic kinds, at least.
Their hearts don't hammer against their chests, not when they hold each other's hands so tight they can feel the blood rush under their skin.
They don't swap spit and shove their tounges down each other's throats, and they won't get upset if one of them says that it's all that is. A kiss. After all, friends can kiss each other, right?
But most importantly, they don't get upset when strangers think they're indeed friends.
Wednesday now feels like a foe, and you know you've lost.
"But we're not friends, are we?" You finally turn your head to look at Wednesday's face, and when you see whatever cryptic expression she's got on her front, you lose all hope.
"We're nothing," your voice shakes in defeat, and your free hand tries to pry Wednesday's arm off you, "so I shouldn't have been upset."
"We're nothing," you lift the fingers gripping your hips tightly one by one, "you were right, and I was wrong."
"We're nothing," you look at her previously cold hand that now desperately holds yours, and you wonder if this may be the last time you'll ever get the chance to touch her, "so you should let me go."
You pull your hand to your side forcefully. The cold and the warmth were no more; it was just you.
"So I should go."
The cafe's doorbell chimes, and you leave Wednesday and the stranger behind you, not daring to look back at them, at her.
Because maybe if you do, you'll see that tears have stained her face just like yours have, and you don't know if you'll survive with the sight burned to your brain.
Wednesday, now a ripped page of the book you wish you could burn.
You open your eyes, and the light frays them, making your brows furrow as you groan into the room. The music was no longer there. Gone. Only deafening silence kills your heart and robs your soul. You feel so painfully alone.
Breathing in the air, you look up and see spiders making webs on your ceiling. They dance, weaving more web out, painting beautifully intricate patterns bit by bit.
Your mind calms down, the bitter thoughts now replaced with a name, and your mind holds to it and repeats it like a mantra.
Wednesday
Wednesday
Wednesday
Wednesday
Wednesday
You want to see her.
Wednesday
Wednesday
Wednesday
You want to feel her.
Wednesday
Wednesday
Wednesday
Your heart calls out her name.
Wednesday
Oh, you miss her.
"Wednesday." Your voice calls out her name; a knock answers.
Spring Break. (Larissa Weems X Reader.) SFW.
Part 2 here.
Summary: Reader stays at Nevermore during Spring Break. Feeling lonely, she decides to have a drink. Little did she know, Larissa would be back at Nevermore in time to catch her in the act.
Warnings: Alcohol, R being drunk & feeling lonely, glass smashing, platonic Larissa X Reader (friends,, with maybe something there ☕️) sad ish comfort fic <3.
Tumblr media
Spring break meant that, as a teacher at Nevermore, you would be free of all responsibilities for a week. Or almost a week, give or take a few days which you usually spent planning lessons before the students arrived back in time for classes.
And considering the old building happened to also be your only home, which also happened to be in the middle of nowhere, it was fair to say that you didn't have much to do during your time off. Sure, you did all you could for the first three days: visits to Jericho, checking out the Spring Markets, endless coffee runs to the Weathervane. You met up with a friend on one occasion and attended a few fitness classes on another. Anything to curb the boredom of living in a tiny town where everyone kept to themselves when it came to Outcasts and all those associated with them — that included you.
Mostly, you just missed the students. And of course, you missed your colleagues. Marilyn had gone out of state to visit family. Larissa on the other hand, ever the hard worker, was on yet another 'work related trip', which meant... Well, you didn't exactly know what it meant. You didn't necessarily care to ask. After all, she was still your boss who deserved to have her privacy, even if you deemed her as one of your closest friends.
In conclusion, you were beginning to feel quite lonely. And feeling lonely meant you'd be needing something to numb that feeling down, at least momentarily.
Alcohol was the perfect solution.
You had risen early on a Thursday morning. Basic chores were completed in efficient timing, leaving you with an entire day to spare once again. The drive down to Jericho was brisk and you were strolling through the sunny streets in record-breaking time. There was no such thing as 'brunch' around Nevermore and not for another one hundred miles out, so your best bet was buying a sad bottle of wine for you to drink all by yourself back at home.
Which is what you were currently occupied with as you swayed your hips to a Jazz song, feeling the alcohol rush to your head as the music spun along the record player. Your grip on the bottle of scarlet liquor was tight, your thumb sealing the lid as to not spill a drop whilst you danced the afternoon away.
By the time the sun began to retire, the straps of your floral mini dress were hanging off your shoulders and the days choice of drink was on its last few inches.
One song began morphing into another, until you couldn't hear lyrics and it was only the instrumental that was running through your bones. You took a swift swig from the glass bottle still in your hand, feeling the sweetness linger on your tongue.
Your clarity was evidently gone as you stumbled into your bathroom, hardly knowing how you had gotten there in the first place, or where the wine that had been in your possession all night had disappeared but you weren't going to fuss over it for long. You'd just have to find another bottle elsewhere, which wouldn't be difficult considering most of the teachers at the school had their own stash of prohibited items hidden away in the teachers lounge, or in their rooms. Hell, even Principal Weems owned a generous selection of alcohol which she confidently kept in her office.
You blew out a weak chuckle. Principal Weems most definitely had wine.
Both of your hands locked firmly onto the bathroom sink as you absentmindedly rocked side to side, trying to focus your glossy eyes onto your reflection in the mirror. God, you'd ridden yourself into a mess of a person — there were remnants of mascara under your eyes, your once perfectly-curled hair now hand-brushed back into what resembled a lions mane. You bit your lip to suppress a stupid giggle.
You didn't care to drink often but when you did drink, you didn't shy away from the alcohol. And once you passed the point of tipsy, there was no telling how far you'd take it before someone had to physically stop you.
Thankfully, no one was around.
Time escaped you once again as you suddenly found yourself in the shadows of the empty Nevermore halls, your journey a blur. You tiptoed (or so you thought) barefoot across the smooth, frigid tile, Larissa's office being your one and only destination.
If you weren't so inebriated, you would've noticed the chill that had your teeth clattering together as you snuck into the tall blonde's office. And maybe, just maybe, you would've noticed the fact that Larissa's fireplace, which hadn't been lit in days, was now blazing hot, casting a warm glow upon the room.
You closed Principle Weems' door with a relieved sigh as the heat of the room engulfed you, bringing life back into your cold skin. Focus, focus, focus, you whisper-chanted to yourself, eyes now dragging along the expanse of the neat room. Larissa had invited you over for drinks in her office many times throughout the year, so it wasn't hard for you to find exactly what you were looking for. And once you held one of the older woman's finer wines in between your fingers, you felt accomplished and greatly amused with yourself for pulling off such a stunt.
That was, up until that same bottle of wine slipped through your clumsy fingers, shattering at your feet as a pool of crimson spread across the hardwood floor, glass shards scattering around your vicinity.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," expletives fell from your pink lips as you ran your fingers through your hair in frustration.
"Oh, goodness! Don't move, [y/n]!"
The sound of Larissa's voice startled you enough for a hiccup to escape your mouth as you wobbled in place, "I-I'm soo sorry," you slurred and Larissa was darting out of her sleeping quarters and behind you in a flash.
You heard the crunch of the glass under her heels, the sound echoing in your head as you sobered up slightly in the critical situation. Before you could hurt yourself, Larissa lifted you bridal-style and you clung onto her grey wool jacket in disorientation.
"Where on Earth are your shoes, [y/n]?!" The Principal questioned as she carried you over to her desk, gently setting you down onto her leather office chair.
"I..." you thought for a second, "I don't know."
Larissa's eyebrows furrowed. She pressed her index finger under your chin before adding pressure, lifting your head so she could see into your eyes.
"Are you drunk?"
You couldn't help but giggle. In retrospect, that was a poor time to do so, considering you'd just wreaked havoc in your boss' office. But in your woozy mind, you thought Larissa was being hilarious.
"All right," the Principal took a deep breath. She scanned the room, eyes landing on the disaster in the far end of her office. She looked back at you. "Stay here. I'm going to bring you some water and something to clean you up, darling. Don't move a muscle. Do you understand, [y/n]?"
You blinked a few times, trying your hardest to understand Larissa's words. After a few confused seconds, you nodded.
"Yes? Then what did I just say?" Larissa asked, raising an eyebrow as she tested your ability to communicate.
"Uhhhm," you looked around the room as if the answer to her question would appear in writing on the walls, until you spotted the huge splatter of liquid on the floor, "There's be-been an accident?"
The Principal muttered something under her breath as she pulled away from you, realising this would be more difficult than she had imagined — you were completely out of it, she'd had a long day of travel, and the past few days had been full of stressful events. The poor woman had barely entered the building before another issue arose. She hadn't even had the time to take off her coat.
Larissa rubbed at her temples. She thought for a second as she watched you spin around in her office chair, surely rendering yourself nauseas. The tall blonde shimmied out of her jacket before clasping onto the arm of the chair, halting your movements. Your head rolled as the world spun and Larissa waited for you to regain focus, leaning down to make sure you could clearly look into her eyes.
"I need you to do me a huge favour, darling," the Principal spoke in seriousness, gaining your full attention as you glanced up at her with glossy doe-eyes, "I'm going to leave the room for one minute and I need you to stay here and take care of my coat, can you do that for me? You have to try your hardest."
You froze as you allowed yourself time for Larissa's words to sink in and she patiently awaited your response.
"I can, I can do that."
"Good girl."
The Principal handed you her jacket and you eagerly wrapped your arms around it, pulling it into your chest as you fell back into the leather seat. Your eyes closed in content as you breathed in her scent and Larissa smiled nervously, taking one last longing look at you before scurrying away.
Luckily, she managed to find cleaning supplies and two bottles of water before your intoxicated mind could even wander towards the possibility of leaving your seat, despite the fact that you had most certainly forgotten her order before she had even stepped foot outside of the office.
By the time that Larissa had cleaned the blood-red droplets from your legs and had finished picking up every little shard of glass from the ground, you had been lulled half asleep and the bottle of water that you'd been given had been abandoned in your coat-clad lap. The Principal took the opportunity to go through her nighttime routine, only this time she completed it in just minutes, too worried that you'd wake up and somehow injure yourself.
When Larissa strolled back into her office, she had a hot cup of tea between her slender fingers and soft, brown slippers on her feet. A silk, long-sleeve pyjama shirt draped around her upper body, with matching pyjama pants covering her toned legs. Larissa would've never thought she'd be able to dress-down like this in front of you, but she was confident you weren't going to remember the night at all by the time tomorrows sun lit up the sky.
She remained wedged against the doorway to her sleeping quarters for a while, sipping gradually on her steamy beverage, awaiting the moment her eyelids began getting heavy.
You shuffled on the chair in your dream-like state, the bottle in your lap rolling off your thighs and onto the floor with a thud, making you flinch awake. Your eyebrows furrowed deeply in annoyance and you heard a gentle chuckle coming from somewhere on your right.
Your eyes met Larissa's and you would've blushed if you hadn't downed almost a litre of liquid courage.
"Shut up."
The Principal's face adorned a playful look as her laughter died down. She knew you weren't serious, no matter how angry you looked.
Larissa raised an eyebrow, "What were you even doing in my office, besides trying to steal my beloved bottles of red?"
You shrugged, "Jus' wanted a drink."
"Is that so? You seem like you've had more than enough, darling. I'm worried about you," the tall blonde spoke sincerely, the importance of the conversation being evident in her voice and on her face.
"Was feeling lonely," you admitted, focusing deeply on the hem of Larissa's jacket all of a sudden, picking at the fuzzy material. You did not want to cry while intoxicated — there was nothing worse than a sobbing, inconsolable, sad drunk.
"Oh, darling," Larissa cooed, immediately dropping the unimpressed-mother act that she was fully intending to make a deal of, and rushing over to set her tea on top of her desk. She knelt in front of you, warm hands reaching up to caress yours, smoothing over your cool skin in a comforting manner. "You could have called me, [y/n]. In fact, you should have—"
"Didn't wanna bother you."
"You're not a bother, darling. Never. Not to me."
There was a pause — a moment where Larissa realised the vulnerable path she was heading down.
She cleared her throat, grabbing the bottle of water that was by her foot before twisting the cap off and handing you the drink. "Here, finish this for me, darling. I'd absolutely despise for you to be hungover tomorrow."
You mumbled a 'thank you', hesitantly taking your first sip. Something about drinking water after consuming alcohol just made you hate the taste of it. But when it was Larissa asking, you couldn't really say no.
The Principal had plenty to say to you, though she didn't believe you were in the right frame of mind to hear any of it, so she swallowed those words and instead opted for something more time appropriate. Like sleep. Which you desperately needed.
"Let's get you back to your room, darling. You need rest."
"Noo!" You suddenly whined, taking the blonde by surprise, yet she remained understanding and patient, listening even as your voice turned to a whisper, "Don't wanna be alone again..."
Larissa's left hand cupped your right knee quickly, "Right, yes. Of course. Sorry, darling. You're more than welcome to stay here tonight, if that makes you feel more comfortable."
You nodded as your eyes felt droopy, still cradling Larissa's clothing in your arms, which didn't at all help raise your energy levels.
"Come on, sweet girl."
The Principal helped you stand, grasping your hand as you wavered. She never once let go, holding you firmly as she guided you towards her bedroom. And once your body had nested into the mattress, there was no chance you'd be getting back up, so Larissa swiftly set up a bottle of water and some pain relief on the bedside table.
Finally, when the blonde was truly convinced that you had been tucked in properly, a soft kiss punctuated onto your forehead, she turned to leave the room, only to be stopped by your slurred, sleepy voice.
"Stay."
A wave of surprise jolted through Larissa as her heart sped up, despite her freezing in place. The older woman suddenly felt conflicted. She didn't want to take advantage of the moment in fear that you'd regret the entire night as soon as you woke in the morning.
Your eyes fluttered open tiredly, "Please stay," you looked in the woman's direction with a pitiful pout.
Larissa's face softened. She didn't have the heart to turn you down, slowly sauntering over before climbing under the covers beside you. The Principal was comfortable on her back for only a few short seconds before you tiredly curled into her warm body in search of heat, making her breath hitch in her throat. She was definitely going to overthink the entire night away.
"Mmm... warm," you sleepily mumbled and the threads of tension snapped under the tall blonde's skin, allowing her to relax into your touch, feeling more at ease knowing that you were innocently enjoying her comfort.
"Sleep well, darling," Larissa hushed.
And before she could even get a response out of you, the bedroom filled with the sound of your soft snores, making the older woman breathe out in amusement.
