I couldn’t pick just 1 gif so good luck picking just 5 lyrics 🤷🏼‍♀️

I said this was going to take a long time, but in a million years I couldn't ever pick 5 top lyrics. Every time I listen to a song I hear it completely differently. I also could've chosen all lyrics from one song on Weathervanes let alone all of his music. But here we are 5 lyrics that struck me in this moment.

"I ain't use to this seeing everybody's hand. I was raised to be a strong and silent southern man" Middle of the Morning- Weathervanes This hits me so freakin' hard every time. Because I can't help but think where we could be as a country if we didn't raise kids (especially boys) to be strong and silent.

"Can't say I love her, but she's someone to talk to" Volunteer - Weathervanes I'm so taken by this, because I know he's talking about a relationship but this is so human.

"Maybe we'll get 40 years together but one day I'll be gone and one day you'll be gone" If We Were Vampires - The Nashville Sound It makes me sad, but reminds you to cherish every moment.

Dress Blues- this one won’t change from the previous ask- “Mamas and Grandmamas love you ‘cause that’s all they know how to do, you never planned on the bombs in the sand or sleeping in your dress blues.” 😍 absolutely seize the day. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

If We Were Vampires- okay the lyrics you chose on this one are really the best but to be different- “The fragile heart you’ve protected for so long” I just relate to that line so much. Sometimes, I think it would be nice to not feel so deeply so often.

Cast Iron Skillet- “Don’t walk where you can’t see your feet, don’t ask questions, just believe it” The whole tow the line vibe here. This message is just sad and I hate how many reflect it and pass it on to the next generation. 💔

Codeine- I haven’t listened to this one in forever- “You oughta come home tonight but you won’t. I wish we knew how to fight, but we don’t.” It’s just such a melancholy line with wishing things were different.

deeply refreshing to see someone critical of Swift who also like, genuinely likes her. Like i'm neutral to positive on her, but the online discourse has been absolutely rancid. flipping between "Taylor Swift has never done anything wrong ever and she's a fucking genius" and "Taylor Swift is the worst lyricist of all time and also a bad person" is exhausting, so thank you for like. nuance or something lmao

not to make it serious for a sec but i genuinely think that being able to like things that are bad is really important. like I think that it's an important skill to be able to look at something and see what you personally enjoy about it and then take a step back and acknowledge that objectively it's flawed. and to also be able to acknowledge that liking something isn't necessarily an identity or a moral stance. and i think that fandom space in general could really benefit from more people taking the time to learn how to do that. it's okay to like things that are bad

#people ask me sometimes why ill occasionally talk about something i like and then go 'but it's bad' and the answer is usually because it is #i love teen wolf. i love genshin impact. i love detective conan. and i fucking LOVE taylor swift. that doesnt mean theyre good #it just means i like them. and recognizing their flaws actually helps me better identify what i like about them!#it's like. in my mind bad > good is the x axis and i like it > i dont like it is the y axis yk. they're not mutually exclusive #tldr it's not that serious. we can all relax a little #irt taylor swift i do also think she has done some real harm to her fans in enabling them to deflect all criticism of her as misogyny #and i don't think it's fully the fault of these people who are parroting that response bc so much of her marketing has deliberately #reinforced this idea that to be a swiftie is to be a part of a sisterhood and that any attack on taylor is an attack on all of those women #who are in that in-group. when that's obviously not the case. but she's marketed herself as. for lack of a better term. i will say with my whole chest that i hate what is happening with music marketing right now. i hate that a song needs to be a tiktok trend. i hate that one album is being released in 23 ways to trick people into buying multiple albums because there are different covers and different photos inside. i hate that one album is being rereleased multiple times as deluxe and then the super deluxe and then super secret version with one additional song just to make the numbers!!!!!! i hate that people without vinyl players buy multiple vinyls of the same album just to own them and collect them. i know no one is making anyone buy multiple versions of the same fucking album by putting a gun to their head BUT COME ONNNNN its all about the money and people and just giving into that!!!!!!!!

#like i said. no one is making anyone do anything HOWEVER this is all a TRICK #7 different covers and 7 different covers of one album in the economy of undecided people #of course officially its so you can choose the onw you like the most #but truth is. there are thousands of people who will buy all the versions just to own them and they male the numbers #i HATE IT #with a burning passion #THIS IS NOT ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT SPECIFICALLY BUT IT ALSO APPLIES #its brought to you by me working at a place where we (among other things) sell vinyls and a 12 year old bought 4 versions of one album #on vinyl and said with their whole chest they are doing it for tiktok views #LIKE DUDEEEEEEE #I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE OLD MAN SHOUTING AT A CLOUD MEME BUT COME ON #I CAN NOT BE THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS AND I CRAVE TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHO THINKS THE SAME #tell me i am not crazy #music
