Thoughts of being well read
Turned her all sorts of red
With a simple sinister look
She spreads like a book
Wanting her pages flipped
Nose deep I willing dipped

August reads.
Starship Troopers was quite different from what was depicted on film and though I enjoy the movie, I kind of wish Paul Verhoven stuck with the book in his adaptation. He found the book to be boring. I highly recommend the book.

Hello :) I found your blog a few weeks back and can I say - your advice is solid, and helpful. You being specific with your information is really appreciated. I work in a government / corporate / communications job so a lot of my work involves being organised and aware of current affairs. that being said, do you have a solid list of websites / platforms that one should read everyday? I think you mentioned Harvard Business Review and that’s on my list as well. Thank you :)
I’m assuming that you mean news here because I read the news everyday.
Personally I read:
- Bloomberg
- Wall Street journal
- Fox News
- CNN
- BBC
- CNA
- New York Times
- And a couple of others that are specific to my native language
I prefer a mix of right and left news because that’s the best way to form an opinion.
If you’re working in something specific, I’d recommend you signing up for those specific newsletter from the news apps. I know Bloomberg does that, the others must be as well.
Otherwise I’d recommend you go through this article.

My Eleven Favorite Books
The Color Purple - Alice Walker
The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinback
A Wrinkle in Time - Madeline L'Engle
Native Son - Richard Wright
The World According to Garp - John Irving
The Phantom Tollbooth - Norman Juster
Clan of the Cave Bears - Jean Auel
The Dark Tower: The Drawing of Three - Stephen King
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe - C.S. Lewis
The House of Spirits - Isabel Allende
Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keys
My born day was eleven so lets do eleven of my favorite books. Curiously I was bought back to this list after my Friday Night Movies selection bought me to re-watching Charly a film based on the Daniel Keys Flowers for Algernon. After reading comments on YouTube I didn't even know there was a short story before the novel which I read this morning in about forty minutes. I had recalled that I had started a list of my favorite books and I wanted to make sure that Flowers for Algernon was on this list and to my surprise it already was.
As I put a graphic together for this post I included the covers that I first encountered when I read these books. Even if I have lost the original version of the book I read I will purchase a replacement that has the same cover, that is my nostalgia kicking in big time. With the exception of Allende I currently have all of these books in my home.
