oh sorry you’re right I forgot that an album specifically had to cater to everything you like and nothing can be different and it all has to be up to your crazy standards which you change everyday. and she better not put her real feelings on it because you don’t like what she feels. it can’t possibly be good because it’s not the one you imagined in your head so it objectively has to be horrible! And the rest of us can’t like it either we’re delusional!

and i won't confess that i waited but i let the lamp burn as the men masqueraded i hoped you'd return with your feet on the ground tell me all that you'd learned cause love's never lost when perspective is earned and you said you'd come and get me but you were 25 and the shelf life of those fantasies has expired lost to the lost boys chapter of your life forgive me peter, please know that i tried to hold onto the days when you were mine but the woman who sits by the window has turned out the light

I just finished season one episode 19 of Dungeons and Daddies (not a bdsm podcast) and it has me all kinds of messed up. To take Grant, who is such a sweet kid, and have him thrown into one of his favorite games, have his dad violently murder someone then lie about it, and then having to violently kill a creature in what may be the most gruesome and traumatic way just because his dad made a stupid pact is heartbreaking. I legitimately feel so sad for this character. I wonder how this will be addressed later in the season. If anyone who’s listened to the series reads this soon, does it get any better for Grant? Is there any chance things improve for him?

My head is truly so empty but I enjoy so much hitting play on a song and going "Jack!!!!" and then immediately on the next song going "Aaron!!!!!"

Related to what @cages-boxes-hunters-foxes has been saying about the way in which Joever happened - I think that this is what “I love you it’s ruining my life” is about. The “you” is Matty and the “life” is her life with Joe. Her and Joe weren’t going to work out, but Matty was the reason she stopped trying and didn’t end things in a respectful way.
And I’m sure she knows now that the end was inevitable, but I bet in the immediate aftermath of Matty she thought, “well why did I just break up with my boyfriend for?? Why did I leave my whole life in London behind?? Sure things weren’t perfect but at least he really loved me and it wasn’t all just lies.” I loved you, and it ruined my life.
And that’s the grace she gives Joe on this album - it didn’t work out but the foundation was one of real love and she knows that. She can hate Marty’s guts for real and not feel one ounce of compassion because their love was never true on either side.
Similarly I think this is why she’s presenting the story the way she is, as a file of evidence ready for a public autopsy. She knows she did Joe bad and she doesn't want to just play the victim. She’s sharing what he and Matty did but she’s also sharing what she did. She's saying, "Look at all the fucked up stuff i did! Are you really going to let me get away with this?"
