Hi, someone who works at a museum here. Look for different events that the city hosts. In Canada we have something called doors open where a bunch of museums are free and entry is cheaper.
A lot also have discounts for students, CAA (AAA for Americans), military, groups over a certain size, kids go in for free, etc…
Also, as of tomorrow the Canada strong pass will be starting that will reduce costs to go to a bunch of national parks and museums.
Go she was and explore :)

It always feels weird going back and looking at season one (especially the pilot) and seeing how happy and innocent the characters were. How they hadn’t caught on quite yet about the horrors that would come. And then to go and watch the most recent episode and getting whiplashed by these broken down angry versions of themselves that their former selves could never have imagined.

I go back and forth between the headcanon that Danny Fenton is a whopping 6’7” tank of a human being or a tiny 5’4” king who stopped growing after the portal.

“You could say I’m the queer-ent” Billy with all the jokes out here. Incredible. (Also Agatha’s “you want a straight answer ask a straight person” was amazing. 10/10 loved the gay jokes this episode)

Wake up Daniel. I’ve discovered the most incredible thing! It turns out you have many children and grandchildren. On youtube people have been commenting on the interviews you’ve been giving. They want to let you know that you are their father. I must say, I am quite impressed by the mobility of your sperm at your age-

So, weird thing I learned in my French literature class is that books were sometimes published more like fanfic back in the 1800s.
So this wasnt the case for all books that were published at the time but some of the biggest ones were published differently from how we publish them now.
One of the authors who did this the most was Alexandre Dumas (the one who wrote the three muskateers, le compte de monte Cristo, and over a hundred books (including the 5000 pages for the muskateers trilogy))
He would write for multiple different newspapers and publish a section of one of his stories in each.
So one would be the 3 muskateers, one would have the compte de monte cristo, one would have another, etc… (not to count the plays this absolute unit of a man wrote (he was the 1600s version of James Patterson I swear))
As an aside, apparently among academics it’s considered controversial to say that he wrote with others but we do know that some of his works were at least partially co-written.
Anywho, he would write an instalment that would be published each week and the newspapers would take comments and feedback from the public and that would affect how the stories would turn out.
Ppl would also often have someone reading the instalments out loud to the family (or coworkers) and they would all talk about the stories, kinda like having an audiobook.
It’s fascinating that they did much of what we do today but in a completely different context

This is a friendly reminder that libraries exist and that they have more than just books.
Now, some libraries have more services than others but even the most basic libraries will have shelves upon shelves of dvd, cd, books, games, etc… that you can borrow and use for free(!!!)
Some more bougie libraries will also have other awesome stuff.
For example, I once went to a library with a recording booth with a good quality mic, they had a green screen room, cameras that could be borrowed, computers with the Adobe suite to do editing, as well as a plethora of other resources and help from librarians.
Another thing, ask what your local librarians can do. They often are really good at researching and also might be able to borrow things from other libraries as well.
Also, once you get a library card you can sign up for Libby that has a ton of books and audio books (again) for free.
Personally I just borrowed the 4th series of doctor who and have been watching the episodes and extra content on the dvds. I’m having a blast!

Why is no one mentioning that Shauna still has the knife she used in the wilderness on top of the sheath that Melissa made for her? (Also the ending was filmed beautifully with the music)

The scene where Daniel asks Louis who Armand goes for when dumb exploitative assholes aren’t available and Louis responds with
“Someone half in love with an ease full death”
Just hits so hard. Like, look at this shit.
And tell me he’s not talking about Daniel here.
The ominous stare. The music. The pause. Daniel having
AND THEN
And then there’s the dialogue shortly after (same convo) where he quotes the same thing Armand says at the end of the episode.
I already kind of thought it was very likely that Louis and Daniel were having their memories messed with before this episode but damn.
This basically confirmed it.

As an Armenian person, I feel compelled every once in a while to Google things. And boy oh boy have I stumbled on something.
So as you may know (by scrolling through my blog) I’ve recently been obsessed with iwtv, where one of the main characters (Daniel molloy) is played by Armenian actor/writer Eric Bogosian.
And while having a shower I had a shower thought (shocker, I know) and it led to me going down a mental rabbit hole wondering if there was armenian folklore or vampires (there is) and it led to me writing this post at 1:02 am on a work night.
Armenian vampires (dakhanavar), are vampires that only attack travellers (not locals) and will stalk their prey until they rest for the night and will suck their blood from their feet.
Imagine if they make a foot fetish joke in the show. This is the perfect way to incorporate it.
Anyways, thanks for following along.
Also, other cool piece of armenian folklore is the dog god Aralez who licks fallen soldiers back to life. How cool is that!?

I am currently rewatching season 2 episode 5 of iwtv, and boy, Daniel really did run face first into that trap didn’t he. Straight up skipping towards the danger while twirling his pigtails.
