No cause nowadays fandom culture is sooo sensitive like i just saw someone asking why huskerdust from hazbin hotel is such a famous ship if they're a drug addict and an alcoholic so it doesnt seem very healthy...... BABES back in my day if a ship wasnt between a minor and a 30+ year old it was considered a win

i have, by no will of my own, become a Burn fan. and a burn/scarlet fan. not because they’d actually be good or healthy for each other, but because the idea of that dynamic- the idea of Scarlet already having been queen for ten years prior to oasis’s death, the idea of Burn immediately allying with a SkyWing queen after her sisters declared war, the idea of them being interwoven for twenty years whilst a war of succession raged on around them- is so GREAT
very much a midnight rant here, but man!!
I would LOVE to explore Burn’s relationship with Oasis too. The books imply (especially in TBN prologue & Six-Claws’ winglet) that Burn was her mother’s favorite. And the fact that Burn expanded an entire fucking palace to create a central memorial for her mother is so!!! Like she definitely had a fucked up relationship with Oasis. Like considering Oasis had been so obsessive over heirs and had been so afraid of her daughters it would be difficult for there to be any actual relationship in the SandWing Royal Family. But there was some kind of bond between Oasis and Burn, whether because Oasis didn’t truly fear Burn- not because Burn wasn’t a danger, but because Burn was honorable- or because she genuinely cared, just a little, about one of her daughters.
And the fact Scarlet was a queen during this! The thought that Scarlet and the SkyWings could have been minor allies in the years prior to Oasis’s death (which would make sense in the fact that Burn’s first ally was the Sky Kingdom, because she would be in the best position to utilize the Sand Kingdom’s original allies before the succession crisis)
like I can’t stop thinking about a twenty-one y/o Burn being her mother’s not-so-subtle chosen heir and attending diplomatic meetings and Scarlet, a fresh queen with such a dramatic flair, meeting.

I think another reason why I prefer rogue’s hair to be huge and untamed is because I think it fits her a lot more personality wise. rogue might be southern, but she’s never fit into that southern belle type of box. she was born into a cult, and then she was raised by terrorists, and that made a major impact on the way she deals with her feelings and surroundings. rogue can be incredibly violent and aggressive. whether it be threatening remarks or just actual violence she struggles a lot with having a proper response to certain situations. she has very extreme reactions, like her commitment to being self sacrificial to those who show her kindness, or the fact that a small disagreement can lead to her beating the shit out of someone

Hi, I've been rereading Falling Falling Stars and appreciating the nuanced way you represent issues in the kink community. I was at a very M/f-biased party recently and remembering the things Efnisien says about how some kink spaces can feel very sexist. While also noting that it doesn't mean any individual is bad! I also like the aspect of Ef being triggered by aspects of kink and some kinky characters being insensitive to that, but not malicious. I like having a story that shows these things!
Hi anon!
Oh man I loved being able to write about this. Especially because Efnisien was so fresh to kink at the time so it was all very obviously misogynist to him (which...some of it really is!) and Arden I think managed to explain pretty well that sometimes people have fantasies around this stuff that they feel ashamed of and they have a right not to feel shamed for exploring something in ideally a safe kinky space.
But at the same time I think there's also a big difference in feeling between majority-queer kinky spaces and majority-cishet kinky spaces, and most queer folk who have been in these kinky spaces know exactly what I mean when I say this. Not everyone has the privilege to experience both. Sometimes you just get the latter and make do. And there's often more 'queer' in those spaces than folks realise anyway, it just tends to be a bit more hidden, depending.
So I just liked the ability to talk about it actually! To have Efnisien talk about it, and Arden, and Kadek a little bit, and get the different perspectives. I loved writing Efnisien standing up for himself on the collar situation (to this day he doesn't wear a collar), and challenging things that become easy to take for granted in kink spaces because everyone is taking it for granted/not talking about it.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it, anon! :D

A couple of times recently I have mentioned my love for Emet-selch and had people call me an "Emet fucker"
This is incorrect.
Not only do I not particularly find the man attractive (I'm ace as fuck, when I like a character it has nothing to do with wanting them), I would never shorten his name that way. He is Emet-selch, not Emet, and that matters at least as much as my not wanting to fuck him 😅

so how bout this vice article huh
(screenshotted excerpt under the cut)
Ilagan said that what you do with the hate also matters. Are you self-aware enough to admit that you’re just feeling a little bad about yourself and need something to feel better, or are you going to set out to cancel this person?
Hating becomes unhealthy once it turns you into a hateful person, like if you start seeing disingenuity in other people even when it’s not presenting itself, or you begin spewing hateful comments when it’s totally unwarranted. If that’s the case, maybe a social media break isn’t a bad idea.

Fucked up that you can realize a thought/feeling is unhealthy and yet that doesn't shut it down. Like, jealousy, or feeling inadequate when seeing other people's achievements, etc... you can be like "hey this thought pattern actually isn't very healthy" but that doesn't do shit for making you stop feeling it. Unfair as all hell
