my verdict on ur playlist btw is that it is very solid and cohesive a+, but *just* to the left of my tastes, largely because a lot of it skews 70s/80s which just by nature of the beast lacks the bass i like (because it was mixed entirely different compared to modern music, which is better suited for sounding big when played digitally through smaller speakers. ive heard some of these bands on big sound systems and theyre MUCH more in line with my tastes then lmao)

going to my dads house is difficult for multiple reasons, but one i don't often talk about is just how the environment is so uncomfortable compared to how it was when i lived there.

obviously almost all of my stuff is gone, and my dad's now-wife (i still can't call her my stepmom, its just a mental block for me) has moved in all her stuff, but it's just smaller things that get to me.

he changed the lightbulbs in my old room. it used to just be one orange bulb, because it was less harsh on my eyes, and now its two bright white ones. there's no little lamps or anything to turn on so i either have to sent in darkness or complete brightness, and its bothersome. its too much either way.

he likes to turn the a/c fan off now. it used to always be on, but now he says he likes the silence, so he keeps it off most of the time. i have to turn it on because, to me, the silence is stifling. it almost feels like that noise-cancelling pressure you get with nice headphones. not painful, but just heavy.

i don't know why i came back here for a whole week. i just wanted to see my friend a bit earlier, but i wish i had stayed home an extra day or two. i feel insane because i don't particularly mind staying here, but i just would rather be home, even if i'd be alone and maybe lonely there. im still lonely here, but that's just sadder.

ive only been home a day and my dad has (all jokingly, mind you, always joking) called my friend a slut because she was wearing a crop top, called my roommates mom a pedophile because she offered me a place to live after college if i needed it (which was incredibly kind because she knows my difficulties with my parents and hasn't even met me in person), made a joke about women belonging in the kitchen, and had an uncomfortable conversation when i opened up enough to tell him i was romantically talking to someone. not to mention the dozens of times so far he has outright ignored me or walked away while i was talking (even if i was answer a question that he asked in the first place).

this is all difficult to communicate with people because none of it is outright painful or mean, it's just uncomfortable. when im here, it feels like im having to parent my own dad like "is that a nice thing to say?" or "let's rephrase that" and having to be mature and put together because he's not. and his wife is nice, she asks how i am and what im doing but i don't think she really wants to know. she asks to be nice and because she likes me, but sometimes its just like talking to a wall who's smiling at me constantly.

the holidays are hard. im glad i have my own place now, and i wish i would've stayed there just a little longer. my sister isn't even coming to stay too, so i have no one to endure this with. sometimes its really exhausting just being home, where no one really listens and my bedsheets aren't my own and i have to dig thru the closet for musty blankets because i didn't bring any.

i brought my weighted dinosaur, which made me feel a bit silly carrying it out from the car, but he helps. even if it rubs me wrong when my dad throws him or punches his stomach or when my friend lets her dogs sniff and lick at him. it's sooo silly, i know this, but it's like it makes every inch of me be all spikey, child-like, saying "no, that's mine, don't hurt it, it's mine" over a dino.

SO BACKSTORY !! we have andrew: a complete weirdo but likeable abt it? just a chill dude doing his own thing while gaming. sometimes he codes too (here is a beloved fic with absolutely feral robot maker/youtuber!drew). his channel name is nyandrew, it never gets Big big but its stable enough that andrew can do it for fun. he has The Cat Ear Headphones which he never acknowledges the existence of but still wears every single stream. king knocked over his camera once and that 10 second clip became his channel trailer forevermore

there's always someone in the back of his streams just . sleeping?  it's kinda hard to see, no one knows who it is and andrew never addresses it so everyone just accepts it as another quirk of his lives... until one day andrew streams earlier than normal and halfway through the door creaks open and they hear "...babe? i couldn't-- oh. can i come in" cue absolute CHAOS within the chat bc WHO IS THIS !!!!

this person is the one and only kevin day. he's a college student but lives at the house and usually pops up in the other's vids. he was helping dan (who started this whole operation) with moving in. that day he hung out with the foxes, who convinced him to stay for their first day sleepover celebration and then he never left :]

neil is a faceless streamer and a generally funky dude . he started out with silent walkthroughs/speedruns of puzzle games, and now he plays whatever while keeping up the most bizarre and unrelated commentary. he also runs the foxes' podcast. his 'quiplash/jackbox with friends' vids (prompt game where everyone votes on their fav answer) are his most popular because he always has the most brutal and funny answers and he's in top 3 every single time

he only shows up on camera in the other's streams as a hand or legs but once a week MINIMUM the mysterious neil comes into andrew's room and says "release the roombas" and then u hear meowing (this is also where the channel trailer comes from)

kev's always sleeping on lives because andrew streams at 2am (insomnia things)... kev has night terrors and sleeps better with someone else in the room, but andrew can't really sleep with another person on the bed so this system works 4 them

there's this mythical clip of neil coming in and like collapsing on top of kevin sleeping on the floor. they say something 2 each other and neil laughs and then leaves AND IT HAS TORN THE INTERNET APART FOR YEARRSSSSS nyandrew's biggest career drama is nobody knows what's happening between them

andrew is also generally such a gremlin about answering questions u will never get a straight answer from this man ever . and on this topic he is the Worst. in regards 2 ur post about lap sitting these 3 are EXACTLY like this tiktok. *caresses head* "can u stay for one game..." like !!!!!!!!!!!! i am gone i am deceased... it is them. kevin is the main lap stealer between them (imagining kev's 6'1 self curling into a ball 2 fit in the chair with either of them. sparks joy) and he is super clingy while andreil have little gestures like neil slinging his legs over andrew's on the couch. he sits upside down and andrew steadies him when neil starts to slide off. neil tries to go for a run at like 5am after staying up all night and andrew catches him in the kitchen, all bleary after a live and shoves him into a beanbag. (if he sits on top of him to make him stay and they have an intense mental conversation with unwavering eye contact then nobody's around to prove it)

at the end of the day (night? morning? what is time to them) they're tired and the walls and online personas are down. they stay up talking or sitting in silence, all squished together on a mattress or sprawled around the tv or listening to low music in the car.

Ever since you started keeping Kenma company while he was live streaming, he started enjoying work even more. Not that he ever disliked being a streamer, but having you in the room sitting next to him - far enough away that you weren’t in the camera shot, but close enough that he could reach over and put a hand on your knee - was comforting for him. Even after years of doing this, he still managed to have a bit of stage fright when the camera was on. You helped take that away. 

He was in the middle of a stream that was taking a lot out of him; he wasn’t doing particularly well at the game he was playing, and he didn’t really want to be playing it, either. His mind was elsewhere. 

While you were typically more of a security blanket, tonight you were a distraction.  

For some reason, he just couldn’t stop glancing over at you. You had your eyes glued to a book, so it wasn’t like you were doing anything purposely distracting. But you just looked cute with your bottom lip between your teeth and one of his beanies on your head and wearing a t-shirt that was hanging dangerously low, and he really didn’t want to take his eyes off of you. And your foot that was situated in his lap was only adding to his problems. He kept waiting for you to look up and catch him staring, but you never did. 

And he was going to use you as his excuse for losing again rather than his lack of skill at the game. 

Kenma rubbed his eyes and let out a deep sigh.

Someone asked, “is y/n with you?” Kenma read the comment out loud and then looked over at you, smirking. “Are you?” 

“I am,” you replied, smiling at him. 

He nodded, “yep,” as he sank a bit further down in his chair, getting more comfortable. He pulled his headphones off his head and sat them on his desk a bit too haphazardly - they were really starting to hurt his ears - and he found himself wishing you could come closer to him. 

Kenma was frustrated, to say the least. Tonight’s stream hadn’t gone even almost well - he swore this would be the last time he let his viewers vote for which game he played, and he was serious this time. Kenma hated playing games he was bad at, but his fans seemed to love to watch him lose. 

It was even worse that you were always in the corner of his eye and your foot was always sitting innocently in his lap. And it was innocent - you weren’t distracting him on purpose, and you definitely weren’t trying to get him all riled up. But your shirt was hanging so low, and every time he looked at you he could see the bite mark he’d left on your shoulder just the night before. A small part of him felt bad for leaving a mark like that - a bigger part of him wanted you to get on his lap again so he could give you another. 

He groaned before suddenly realizing he had been quiet for quite some time, but he was struggling to come up with anything to say. This wasn’t like him, he should be focusing on work. 

But the more he tried, the more he wanted to clock out early. 

“Okay,” he said with a sigh. “I think I’m gonna call it a night…” 

As usual, comments flooded in, everyone telling him not to go. He wasn’t going to listen to them. 

“We’ll make next time a longer stream to make up for it…” 

He really didn’t sound like he meant it - maybe because just the thought of streaming again any time soon tired him out.

While doing his typical sign off to the stream, he couldn’t stop thinking about how badly he just wanted the cameras to be turned off, and what he’d do after. He secretly hoped you’d pounce on him the moment the stream officially ended, because you could just tell how frustrated he was and you had the perfect thing to relax him. You’d straddle his lap and your hips would rut into his and you’d let him bite your neck as he moaned for you; all of the frustration that had been building up would just melt away, Kenma would finally feel better. 

Or maybe he’d be the one who pounces on you, kissing you as well as he knows how to before pulling you up from your seat and leading you to the bed. He’d settle between your legs while you undressed him and instead of thinking about the stress of winning a video game, he’d be thinking about nothing but his need for you, and maybe he wouldn’t even bother hiding his moans. Maybe he’d want you to hear them this time. 

Or maybe… 

“Kenma?” 

He looked up at you; your book was closed and your shirt was finally pulled up into place. He pouted a bit at the sight. 

“Hm?” 

Somehow in the midst of his daydreaming, he had managed to finish the stream and go offline. He wasn’t sure how he did it. 

“You okay? You had at least an hour left, babe.” 

He gave you a quiet nod, not knowing what else to say. 

Of course nothing he thought about was going to happen. It just wasn’t realistic, was it? Pouncing on each other wasn’t really something the two of you did - hell, you probably thought what the two of you did last night would hold Kenma over for the next month. 

“Kenma,” you hummed, poking his thigh with your toe. 

“What?” he sighed, and he’s sure he’d sound grumpy to anyone else but you. 

But he was right. Those things he’d spent the last few minutes fantasizing about weren’t going to happen tonight. And he knew it for a fact when you pulled your foot out of his lap, and then sank down onto your knees in front of him on the floor. 

“Let me help you feel better,” you said with your cheek resting against his knee; he shifted to sit even lower in his chair, eagerly waiting for what was to come - even if it was something he hadn’t thought about happening. “I can tell you need it...” 

Kenma was glad you knew him as well as you did.

i'm gonna rant about my job for a hot minute, so don't mind me.

the one manager that i work with the most went off on us today bc she got in trouble. the reason why she got in trouble was bc one of my coworkers reported her to the DM bc of her behavior towards all of us, but specifically stuff that happened on saturday.

i didn't realize how long this was gonna be, so i'm gonna put a divider.

that being said, if you wanna know the hot gossip about my work environment, come on in and read lol

i realize i need to name everyone, otherwise this might get confusing.

we got it? cool beans.

first off, i need you to understand why A is so terrible. it's not dumb stuff like 'she works us too hard' or whatever. there are legitimate reasons i, and everyone else at my store, dislike her.

here are some of the things my manager has done:

- made J have a panic attack and had to clock out early for break bc of it

- said to me 'oh, you must be in a better mood than yesterday. you're not as much of a smartass today.' (also, i literally wasn't a smartass to her at all the day before. i was in a pissed off mood bc i didn't want to be at work and i complained about the customers. i literally never spoke to her that day.)

- called K a bitch to her face

- has talked to all of my younger coworkers (most of which are only 20 max and younger than her oldest daughter) about her bf who is on the sex offender list

- she also sees no problem with it bc it happened back when he was in his 20s and she plays off why he's on the list as if it's not serious

- has also told us that cps has been called on her multiple times and she sees nothing wrong with that weirdly

- talks terribly about her own children. like, it's like she hates them the way she speaks of them.

- gave me corona (she got it first and we work the same shifts all the time)

- did not go thru the proper channels to tell corporate about her getting covid, and then on top of that came back earlier than suggested

- constantly undermines us by asking us if what we have as backstock can go out, as if we haven't spent our whole 8 hr shift doing just that

- now, since knowing J has anxiety, will constantly patronize him by saying 'i don't want to give you too much, i don't want to upset you'

- during the holidays when our new staff that came in, she never learned their names and called them all 'you' and when was called out about it shrugged it off

- sent one of them home bc they wanted to eat their noodles first (he was hungry bc he came from a different 8 hr shift) while being clocked in, even tho there are plenty of times i've eaten at the beginning of my shift and so have other managers as well

there's probably about a hundred other things i could tell you, but this is just some of the complaints i've heard or witnessed myself.

on saturday, the reason why X reported A to the DM was bc she told J to take out the trash instead of helping us with the palettes (we work freight in case you didn't know). when X complained about it, and questioned why J couldn't just do it later after the palettes, A wouldn't listen. eventually, when i stepped away, A came up to X and ripped the scanner away from her and told her 'i'll do the palettes since you won't stop bitching.' (and mind you, she should have been helping with the palettes, but she never really does unless direly necessary)

that was enough for X, who decided to leave and then report A to the DM. A got in trouble with our GM too.

now that you're caught up, let me tell you what A is now going to start enforcing (she claims these are corporate policies that we need to start following):

- no more headphones in before the store is open. if we listen to music it has to be all the same music and it must bc PG (bc we work at a toy store basically)

- no leggings, ripped jeans, sweatshirts, or anything that covers the logo on our uniforms.

- if we take out trash, we all collectively go out together

- we will go together and do each section in our store instead of being separated and doing each section on our own

- if we are going to have a phone convo, if it is longer than 5 mins, we must clock out and take our break

and if we don't listen to what she says, we will get written up.

now, the only reason she is laying into these """rules""" now is bc she got in trouble and she's being spiteful.

do you wanna know what that got her? K and J left at the same time this morning and then K quit. i and X stayed bc we want the hours.

she's gonna make everyone leave a store that we've all been working at for years. the other managers have heard our complaints and have even complained along with us and... they don't care. they just want us to keep the peace, even at our own expense of dignity and respect.

so... i'm gonna be looking for a new job (with benefits) asap bc... fuck this place. i've had my own problems before with here but decided to stick them out, but i'm not gonna deal with a women who literally has a sexual offender as a bf degrade me bc she likes a power trip for whatever reason. i'm not her child and i will not handle her like i am one, if you know what i'm saying.

does each subject on his own for 20-40 min each day. he’s really good at self discipline

makes sure sugawara and asahi are up to date on school work and will gladly help.

sadly can’t help the first years (and probably second years) because that info is deep in his brain and basically forgot how to do it after a year or two of not using it.

VERY VERY VERY sad that volleyball nationals are cut off. this is his last year and for it to be??? gone??? just because of some flu?!?! hates it.

he wishes school to go back and still has hope that school will go back to normal in a couple of weeks (even though it’s a slim chance).

asks the teacher questions whenever he has questions. He’s also vv considerate so he’ll ask questions he knows the answer to but asks them for anyone who’s confused ab it/wants to ask but is too shy. (literally i lov daichi sm)

Eats a healthy amount of everything

asks asahi for any updates on corona even though he’s quite up to date himself. he just wanna make sure he didn’t miss anything.

also doesn’t mind being around his family. he’ll do more chores around the house to help his parents out :> he’s literally perfect wtf

def does worry about everyone in the volleyball gc and anyone else he has contact with. Will also email classmates and ask if they’re doing all right. Even away from volleyball he’s a team player ☺️✌️

Yeah. Even when they aren’t at school, he’s still the same as always.

He takes extra care of his family and always stays in touch with other relatives. Especially grandpa and grandma. THE SECOND he learned elderly people are at more risk you bet your ass he’s calling them making sure they’re okay. He checks up on them everyday now.

He peobably practices volleyball a little, too. He’s more focused on schoolwork though.

Always tries to lighten the mood when all the students are on the online call. Maybe crack some joke or innocently play around with the effects.

He still pays close attention in class and does quite well on his own. No help from his parents! He can do everything on his own! He a big boi!

Does homework really well, too. Probably does extra work or more work than needed just because it makes him feel good afterwords.

Honestly i can see him cooking in his free time. If he doesnt feel like reading or scrolling mindlessly through his phone, he gonna cook.

Still! Playing! Volleyball! I mean by now every boy is practicing at least a little bit. He would probably be in his backyard playing volleyball with his family. Theyy’d set up a net and everythin! They’re all rookies at it but he still cherishes the moments with them.

The Kombat Kast and their guilty pleasures;

Here, have some fluff, I’m so tired, so the NSFW post is coming tomorrow! I’m adding loads of people to it!  GIFS don’t belong to me/ I didn’t make them!

·         Kabal; Bubble Baths. He will never admit that he actually likes bubble baths and reading a trashy magazine. Can you believe this guy married a pasty from Greggs, type trashy magazine. The man likes to be pampered, but like don’t tell anyone. After a day of working at HQ, in such proximity of Kano, he feels like he needs to bathe in bleach. So yeah, LUSH is his favourite store, he has so many bath bombs, soaps, bubble baths etc. He’ll lay back, relax and listen to some trashy music. Indie music is also his Guilty pleasure. He loves him some Lumineers… don’t tell anyone. He likes Trashy TV but that ain’t no secret. He’ll love it if you share his bath with him, even though the tub may not be big enough, he’ll love it when you stroke his hair and help massage lotion into him. Nothing more has to be done, he just loves feeling close to you.

·         Sub Zero (Kuai Liang); Whilst he pretends that he doesn’t have time for himself/ does not have guilty pleasures. He does have one prominent one; our man Kuai, likes to read a lot of fiction. Whilst he may not have seen Game of Thrones, he’s read it, the same with the Witcher Series. He loves fantasy fiction, would not object to playing dungeons and dragons. Bi-Han always winds him up about it. You’ll catch him reading, pretending its some ancient tome, and he’s actually reading Lord of the Rings. He has like the face of the shocked Pikachu meme. You won’t let him live it down, will you?

·         Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi); He loves to watch trashy TV with you. Once you introduce him to something like, Sex and the City, My strange Addiction or Desperate Housewives. He fucking lives for the drama, because it doesn’t involve him. He’s sat smirking, eating some popcorn, thanking everything under the sun, this doesn’t involve him. Please, do not, tell anyone. Also, makes him feel better about himself. He’s also amazed at the trivial problems of others. If anyone found out about this, it would take away from his “I am fucking grumpy” attitude, he’s spent years procuring.

·         Kenshi; Is it a guilty pleasure to like comfort? It is when you live for fluffy socks and Pjs. He loves nothing more than to sit there, pjs on, fluffy blanket wrapped around him, you tucked under his arm. The pair of you watching/listening to a nature documentary, which neither of you particular care for, just shitting you, you’re both really into it. David Attenborough is everyone’s Grandad. Plus, his voice is really soothing, so Kenshi likes to listen to it. Takeda gets embarrassed when he catches you like this, quickly exits the room, pretending he hasn’t just seen you both. You’re both secretly really old at heart. He also loves the sound of the ocean, it soothes him, but he doesn’t want to admit that he’s got that playing in his headphones.

·         Cassie Cage; Do not tell anyone. But she actually loves shopping and doing semi-normal things. She’s never had a normal life, by far, between being Sonya Blades daughter and Johnny Cages daughter; her life has always been hectic. So being able to go shopping with you makes her feel normal. She also loves spending a night in, letting you do each other’s hair, face masks and trying out new makeup looks. Sharing a giant pizza and laughing way too loudly. She loves spending time with you, because with you, she just has to be herself. She’s just Cassie in moments like this, she’s not a Cage or a Blade. Just herself.

·         Erron Black; His guilty pleasure is he actually likes to drink wine. Not even red, fucking rose. You heard me guys. Erron Fucking Black, likes to drink Rose wine to relax and un-wind. It started as you two running out of Whisky and drinking whatever was left, which was Rose. To him actually liking it. He begs you not to tell, because that would ruin his image, it’s all playful though. He’ll love letting you curl up with him, both sharing a bottle, surrounded by candles and listening to country music. Another Guilty Pleasure is he actually likes modern music. Not good modern music either, trashy modern music. Kabal has rubbed off on him. His and Kabal’s stakeout song, was totally ‘Unwritten’ By Natasha Bedingfield.

·         Raiden; No pleasure to a God is guilty. He’s not sure what a guilty pleasure is to be honest with you. Should he feel guilty about enjoying somethings? Bless him. He’s trying to understand Mortals, but we are a weird fucking lot. Every time he thinks he’s figured out, there’s always something else. So, he doesn’t see it as a Guilty Pleasure. But he loves Red Pandas. He’s not sure why he loves them. He just does. Could it be, that they look shocked and surprised all the time? Or their tails and how they use it as a blanket sometimes? He’s not sure, but when he sees them, he smiles.

·         Johnny Cage; He likes to watch soppy films and cry. He doesn’t want to admit it, but he does love a good Rom-Com, one that would make him tear up. You have to endure all the shit classics, like Titanic, god does he get crying at Titanic. You don’t understand it. Anything in which a dog is in danger, gets him going to. Like you understand the dog thing. But crying at Romeo and Juliet, the modern one (We had to study this in English Language, it is fucking ridiculous) whilst eating Ice Cream is his Guilty pleasure. You’re there for support, you have to tell him that there was room for two on that door. It’s sort of cute and endearing. He also likes to go to Taco Bell at fucking midnight. Neither of you have to get dressed, just get in the car, he’ll go through the Drive Thru. All is good in the world.

·         Bi-Han; He has a soft spot for hot chocolate with marshmallows in them. He’d like to drink them with you, whilst listening to some music, talking about absolute shit. Don’t tell Kuai, but he believes in Aliens. He fucking knows there’s something else out there. Don’t even fucking start. Don’t laugh. He remembers watching ET, that freaky fucking thing creeped him the fuck out. He’s got to be prepared. Introduce him to X-Files and he’ll be so happy. But yeah, late night hot chocolate, talking about rubbish till 2 in the morning. Both in matching navy pjs. Engraved, matching pjs.
