OH ARTHUR BENNETT.. such a gorgeous and intriguing character. terribly burdened by a GRUESOME set of crimes, his light suffocated by a HEAVY century of GUILT. so tragic, so dark and broody, and yet PAINFULLY awkward in any social setting ever
every time you post about modern au zuko you also just post a fact about my life (liberal arts student, jbrekkie enjoyer, shitty diaspora poetry writer). would you give him a tumblr blog. or a blog on any platform? either way your posts do not help me to avoid projecting onto fictional characters and my little sister called me an emo bitch over this. hope u are well
LMFAOO so true. I have talked before about zuko’s tumblr. his blog is borderline unreadable until he’s at least college-aged, and he thinks that it’s a well-kept secret, but unfortunately mai and ty lee do read it every day like it’s the morning paper. they’re gracious enough not to tell anyone else about it, though. if anyone asks, he claims he doesn’t go online unless you count jstor and poetry foundation, and that he would never use social media. and considering that he has like a total of 3 mutuals and never talks to any of them, he’s basically not even lying.
Hey y'all! The merry-go-round of doctors* I am on seems to be cycling back around towards an allergist again, and I have a question for y'all because idk how to word this for doctors:
How do you word "if it walks like and allergy and quacks like an allergy it's an allergy" to an allergist?
Less flippantly, I have allergy symptoms that multiple doctors have said allergies should not be able to cause. Mainly, my first allergy symptom is high blood pressure**, which if left untreated will progress to migraines, stomach issues, and eventually a bad blood pressure crash***. I have been told allergies do not raise blood pressure, but mine is caused by specific foods most of the time and taking a benadryl stops the reaction, so I have no idea what else it could be? But my main food allergy is acetic acid/vinegar, which I have also had multiple doctors tell me it is not possible to be allergic to

also also I know everyone likes to talk about how good of an archon Venti is because he left mondstadt to do its own thing and hey look Zhongli's doing the same now with his retirement but I also like how the story shows it isn't without flaws, with so much freedom in the city it's all too easy to take control with power, Mondstadt's people may be free but they also don't have a god to actually uphold the ideal they stand for and how personal freedoms conflict, discrimination(eg. against Eula and her clan) is allowed because the people are free to do whatever they want, the fatui really wormed their way into mondstadt during the webtoon + nearly did with Davalin bc the people of mondstadt do whatever they want so Jean is overworked and the knights are ineffective(according to Diluc), and how mondstadt might have been the least free place for the common people during the Lawrences rule despite being the region governed by the archon of freedom
Zhongli at least first tested his people were ready before retiring, Venti kinda acended, organized a bunch of celebrations for his people, then left them to have fun with their newfound freedom only interveining when things get really bad
i'm gonna start replying to people who say 11 is their favorite doctor with "oh the writing wasn't very good but matt smith did the best he could in the role" because i am tired of pretending i liked almost any of his seasons
it's what i have to hear about 13 all the time and i'm sick to the gills of it. sick of it i say!
i think after the manga link tends to zone out a lot in a way that he never did before the manga but it's just because his mind is trying to reconcile having four different memories and sensations of the same events (or different events happening at the same time depending on where the four links were at the time). and the EMOTIONAL aspect of it all too....sometimes the four of them all felt different things at the same time (i.e. when blue struck their father with the four sword) and jamming all four unique emotional responses back into one brain after a little while of them happening separately HAS to be jarring at the very least. so i think when he starts thinking about it his brain gets too caught up trying to wrangle everything together into something more cohesive to really pay attention to the rest of the world.
and i say this all because i think that in those moments when he temporarily checks out of existence, shadow will just start Doing random shit to him to see if he'll notice. like stack things on his head or draw on his face. he starts keeping paints on him for this specific purpose. but i also think as they grow closer and become better friends another part of him sticking around while this happens is because of his newfound guilt at being partly responsible for link zoning out now (since he was the one who forced link to draw the sword by kidnapping zelda) so he's also hovering just in case one of the criminals link loves fighting decides to try and get back at him or something (link WILL snap back to attention if jostled hard enough/enough shit starts happening around him). he does vehemently deny all accusations of actually caring though. he's standing there like How could i possibly be """looking out""" for him. I'm drawing a fucking deku nut on his face
On a serious note, I do feel mysterious case lotusbook has a lot of sincere themes about getting older, realities of responsibility and dreams realized, how it's difficult to succeed and not always the direct path one expects, how there's value in little aspects of life. Almost every li lianhua scene seems to be about that to some degree. The murder cases aren't particularly deep as far as super complicated to figure out or Able to be predicted super well (since they don't always give all the details in the initial setup), but the themes about who was killed and why do connect to li lianhuas situation.
there's something just so humiliating about having adhd to me, because someone asks you do a simple thing and you're faced with a) the challenge to remember it b) the challenge to actually do it c) the humiliation and self-loathing if you can't do a) and/or b).

“This is going to be an energetic program. Celtic dancing is all about endurance... as you can see, that sort of origin of music is playing very well here on the east coast of Canada.”
I just looked at the price on the back of a book I’ve had for a bit over a decade and it was four. fucking. dollars. Just four with no taxes. No extra 97cents or something before taxes. Just a round number that you would add taxes to.
I googled the price of a new edition and it was almost thirteen! Not an even thirteen, it was like 12.96 or something. Close enough that it’s basically thirteen but if you’re adding multiple items together to try and get the price on a purchase with more items it would add more confusion.
It's 100% true that the Roy siblings did not choose to be Logan's children and Tom and Greg and the old guard did choose to work for him so their relationships to Logan are fundamentally different, and the degree of culpability they bear for their own moral degradation is also wildly different. But workplace emotional abuse is also very real and omnipresent in the way Logan treats the people who work for him. And one of the impacts of workplace emotional abuse is creating an extreme attachment to the abuser and becoming less cognizant and even defensive of their abuse towards yourself and others, and in cases where the emotional abuse is institutionalized and systemic it can also create a strong aversion to leaving because your whole sense of personal identity becomes wrapped up in the organization and so being forced to leave can cause an intense psychological crisis. I don't think the situation of working for Logan is at all equivalent to being his child but I also think that it's a bit misguided to imply that Tom and Gerri and Frank and Karl are operating from a place of pure rationality without any undue psychological influences when they make the choice to stay with and support Logan
