I don’t trust anyone who uses the phrase “female transformers” like……… they don’t have a different biological sex they just use different pronouns and arguably have - in some cases- distinct gender identity. But they’re not “females” …. Nor are any of them “male.”
But also it’s super annoying to have the contrast be “transformers” vs “FEMALE transformers”
I mean. C’mon.

Studying linguistics is actually so wonderful because when you explain youth slang to older professors, instead of complaining about how "your generation can't speak right/ you're butchering the language" they light up and go “really? That’s so wonderful! What an innovative construction! Isn't language wonderful?"

im watching a retrospective about Majora's Masks dungeon progression and realizing a little more every time he says "this game took a lot of very brave steps out to not be ocarina of time" that my disappointment with totk isn't out of place. I've been told "it's breath of the wild 2, why did you expect it to be different?" but like.. it's it's own game. why is it the exact same but with an arguably worse iteration of the story?

thinking about rosencrantz & guildenstern are dead again. i think one thing about it is that it's such an excellent example of the sort of thing you can do in a fanfiction/transformative work that you can't really do in an original work? there is no R&G without the greater context of hamlet: hamlet both as a play and a wider cultural phenomenon. we know how these characters' stories will end, not just because we've read the title of the play, but because their ending has been etched into the literary consciousness. the tragedy extends beyond the bounds of either play and seems simultaneously more massive and more absurd because of it

Artyom (you've been telling me your thoughts, but please share with the class)
Artyom Metro, my beloved silly guy
He's just such a fascinating silent protagonist to me. He has so much character. He's also a rare flavor of Blorbo for me
Bonus doodle of his face based entirely on hc

I really wish TMA AUs would be a common thing. Not like an au of TMA but using its setting as an au for a different fandom.
Instead of assigning a Hogwarts house or smth to a character we should assign them a fear god to serve
Bc using a setting from a specific fiction work feels like one of the highest compliments. And I feel like TMA deserves it

i think one of the things that makes toby fox's writing so great is his ability to tell a compelling narrative AND metanarrative at the same time. undertale isn't JUST about how people play games and the need for completionism, and it isn't JUST the main story that you play through. it's both! and both are equally important.
and i think the same will be true for deltarune. some people tend to think of it as black and white when theorizing, either focusing too much on the meta aspects without taking the actual plot and character arcs into account, or doing the opposite and saying that the meta aspects aren't important and won't end up being relevant to the story. it's both! it's always been both!!!

when the courier you shot in the fucking head rolls up and you’re terrified for your life but instead of killing you she has sex with you that is so good you nearly ascend to the heavens (and then you almost do, because you get kidnapped by the fucking Legion)

Do you ever listen to something relevant to your interests and you like it a lot, but you’re in a strange mindset so you feel restless while listening to it and almost want to save it for later?
