I have spent so much time thinking about the miss holloway musical WHICH THEY HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN and I need to spill my thoughts about it

there is no point or end to this it’s just a brain fart of all the thoughts I’ve been having so enjoy I guess lmfao

“backstory”. it will be about her backstory. was she an 80’s music star who sold her mortal life for fame in a deal that backfired on her?? or was she a woman with the gift about to be hanged by the hatchet men who saved herself by making that same deal?? HOW FAR BACK DOES THIS GO IS WHAT IM ASKING WE KNOW FUCK ALL ABOUT THIS WOMAN

if it’s the former, I would love to maybe have mariah as casey (the girl with the gift in the witchwood who asked for her autograph) be an actual character who holloway maybe tries to help. also kim singing 80’s songs fuck yeah

and if it’s the latter then,,, oh wow. some heavy musical numbers, a shitload of hatchetmen / church of the starry children lore, and maybe another form of the lords in black (maybe the creepy hooded figures that we see drawn in the black book???)

also sorry EDIT I just looked at this picture again and the middle one (probably wiggly) is holding a knife. there’s no fucking way that’s not the black blade this is absolutely miss holloway guys omggggg

I would love to see this scene on stage with kim!!!! this would make 5 different forms of the LIB that we’ve seen / heard about (dolls, teens / humans, their true forms, wiggly in made in america, and whatever this is). I’m just imagining you see these black hooded figures, and then in the pro-shot you get a good look inside their hoods… and their faces are NOT human. like just imagine a massive purple eye staring out of one of those hoods, maybe even moving and blinking, a cool animatronic thing. SO CREEPY!! I also love the idea of switching up the actors again - I love jon so much as wiggly and I don’t think they would change him bc of his voice, but with the rest of them I think any actor can play a LIB which opens up so many possibilities…

I also would love to know how miss holloway met duke, and potentially even how many times they have met and then he had to forget her. considering the fact that we now have weird lore about his dad in 2005, did she know duke when he was younger?? did she help him out when he was a teenager, or help his dad?? is it a family thing, like she’s vowed to watch over the keane family or something??

duke’s dad is a big part of this tbh, because what a random insane lore / backstory drop, like WHAT? I genuinely have no idea what douglas keane sr’s murder could be about, except that it ties in to duke and to wilbur. and shows that 2005 is SO DAMN IMPORTANT

2005 was the year hannah was born, the year the portal to the black and white was created, the year wilbur cross went insane and became a disciple of the LIB, the year miss holloway took on the mantle of “miss holloway”, and (very likely) the year miss holloway and wilbur fought. so i think it’s safe to say that the musical itself will be set in 2005, which to me means macnamara and wilbur backstory alongside holloway and duke, which is very very fun

I like the idea that wilbur and macnamara were canonically together, and I really want to see pre-LIB wilbur. I also love the idea of macnamara and holloway working together or even becoming friends - despite being set a decade and a half before nightmare time, it would feel like the culmination of the two hanging plot threads / overarching arcs to me. also the idea that it was holloway who introduced macnamara to the paranormal and therefore essentially set up PEIP and doomed wiley is some juicy stuff that I would LOVE to see, especially if either macnamara or wiley lived in hatchetfield as kids and miss holloway helped them, inspiring whichever one of them to set up PEIP

ok so leading off of that I have a clear vision of a potential final scene that is driving me insane, and that’s the main reason why I patched together this post.

the final scene is the fight between miss holloway and wilbur, the one that happens in every single timeline.

and the basic idea is that we see both fights at once. there’s a song, and the stage is like black friday and spies are forever, with a level above the stage the actors can walk up to and stand on. joey and kim sing, and do their bit on the stage, but above the stage there are either doubles or a projection, mirroring the choreography. only in the pro-shot version, they would splice in joey and kim playing both pairs, which I just think would turn out looking really awesome despite being tricky to pull off live.

and yeah basically at the exact same time, one wilbur stabs holloway, and the other holloway stabs wilbur, creating a gorgeous visual representation of the newly splintered timelines.

either that or they do a trail to oregon and just do a different ending each night, and then splice them together in the pro-shot like I was saying. but I personally prefer the first one, if they’re able to pull it off and make it look good

and duke shows up just after that, having followed miss holloway throughout the story so far. and in the universe where wilbur’s dead, miss holloway makes him forget it all, hence this being the year that she takes on the new name and the fact that we know he has forgotten about her / her true past before. and then in the universe where holloway is dead, he holds her as she dies in his arms. bonus points if we get dying holloway saying “please don’t forget me” and living holloway saying “you have to forget me”. oh and just to be cruel, both dukes saying “I could never forget you” at the same time :) stew on that for a bit. yeah. fuck you I guess lol I woke up and chose violence today apparently

the idea of the two of them finding each other again after that in some timelines is just gorgeous to me, especially given the fact that NMT3 seems to suggest them finding each other AGAIN after she needs to make him forget. truly star crossed lovers they are so insane for this

in summary I guess what I’m trying to say is I think it will include miss holloway’s full backstory and then be mostly set in 2005, and centre around the opening of the black and white portal (macnamara and wilbur), miss holloway meeting duke (wilbur murdering duke’s dad, possibly something with lex and hannah if duke was already a social worker) and eventually the big fight between holloway and wilbur, ending in the audience seeing both potential endings. also obviously a reference to hannah’s birth because that seemed to be some kind of catalyst. thank you for coming to my utterly deranged ted talk goodbye

saw an older post from @golvio talking about miasma in totk (engl gloom..) and mentioned miasma RAIN

and it just kidna lead me to think up more stuff for the game that would have been so logical and cool as hell

if you have played kingdom two crowns, its basically about building a kingdom and defeating some weird goo monsters (idk the lore that well unfortunately) that spawn through portals each night, and once you destroy a portal there will be a bloodmoon night in which they attack wayy stronger

so what if instead of the bloodmoon being only that one cutscene to respawn enemies and clear cache, what if the whole night was coated in a red glow with the bloomoon looming over you the entire time and the cool ass cloud moving super fast effect from botw, with monsters spawning en masse, maybe even unique ones that arent seen anywhere else- or maybe rarely underground, this red night being the only time they will be able to spawn on the surface and the sky- NPCs running to hide and barricade themselves (so the outpost in front of hyrule castle actually has .. a function) and it beign an actual danger to you as well miasma rain being a possible special weather condition either happenign only during those bloodmoon nights or perhaps a few nights in advance to subtly warn you about whats to come soon, with the rains effects being that it slowly takes your health like acid rain if you stand in it for too long, and rarely a bloodmoon enemy spawning already, to give you a clear taste and warning of the coming night, they could form from the puddles building up from the rain!!

once the sun rises it will all calm down, maybe with a tiny cutscene using the good ol sunrise music from ww and showing people opening the gates of the towns again to transition the game from that event to a reset version again

it wouldnt just serve to make the gameplay and world more alive it would also help the narrative (not going into the HUGE problems i have with it in the canon game again) it would actually make it FEEL like you are living in a world on the brink of being swallowed by miasma and mosnters- botw was a looming threat in the background, with the security of zelda keeping it at bay but it still was there and in tone with the theme of the game (cough cough unlike some other newer game)- it would only make sense to then make totk be one where you actualy live through the catastrophe and try to find out its roots and help adress the core issue bC GODDAMN WHAT A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY IT WAS TO CONTINUE THE SUBLTE BUILD UP FROM BOTW INTO A MUCH MORE NUANCED AND INTERESTING STORY TO F-

I saw the idea of Mirabel joining the Owl House crew and I have few headcanons for it.

Pure Mirabel ones

Mirabel is the voice of reason between the adopted Clawthorne siblings, but it doesn't mean she doesn't have her crazy moments too.

She gets drawn into Luz's phone more than King because she's floored at what people can have outside Encanto.

Instead of using glyph paper like Luz Mirabel actually sews or puts glyphs into clothes or her shoes/slippers. When she dances with them on it is a terrifying display.

Mirabel is studying glyphs mainly so she can help lighten the load of her family, since she knows they're under a lot of stress.

Her Palisman is a Spectacled Bear, she calls Specs and she also carves him.

For Luz and Mirabel

Luz and Mirabel when planing something together will usually discuss the idea in Spanish so they don't have eavesdroppers.

Despite only being a year apart, Mirabel thinks of Luz of a little sister she never had. Despite the fact Luz is actually taller than her. Mirabel is five two while the Average 14 year old girl is five four

The two often trade art tips of their respective art talents, with Luz teaching Mirabel how to draw and sculpt, while Mirabel gives her sewing tips and teaches her to dance and sing.

She definitely did sew a witches hat for Luz.

For Mirabel and King

Mirabel will sew him new 'generals' for his army sometimes, many of them animals from Columbia.

When Mirabel first saw him, she picked up with spin and nearly called him cuter than Antonio

Whenever Mirabel sews King always ask if she can sew him a cape fit for the king of the demons.

Mirabel and Luz had to find a common Spanish ground because Columbian Spanish and Dominican Republican Spanish use different words in various things.

Since Mirabel is older and Hexside seems to be divided by age, she ends up in the Blight twins' and Viney's grade. She actually met Viney first.

Mirabel at first loathes the Golden Guard because he reminds her of Isabela, except actually willing to harm. Then she gets to know Hunter and then meets Terra, which causes her to switch her hatred.

Luz insisted on cutting the Palistrom wood in half so Mirabel could carve Specs.

They have to be careful not to open the portal in the Encanto bc Mirabel didn't have Vee to conveniently take her place. Antonio is on the lookout for that weird owl.

like i was walking around in it for the first time while playing totk and i was like 'huh the weapon mounts are gone that's weird' and then read the journal and saw it was zelda's and i was like "wait what??" and then saw there was only one bed and there is NO way they're sharing that single sized bed (which may be just me in denial but) and i was like HUH MY HOUSE NOOO

and then i found out you could build your own by tarrey town and i was like "oh wait... no wait wait my juices...my brain juices"

like imagine Sage being apart of the chain and already settled in with them before reader ever comes along, but then when he's away from the chain for whatever reason he comes across reader (probably someone that stumbled through a portal, like an isekai situation) and he instantly finds himself drawn to them

anyways yadda yadda plot but Sage uses the isolated plot of land as a place to take the reader away to, like a sort of getaway, promising them a quiet and comfortable life and really, its a blessing in disguise, because there, there's no one to bother them and Sage is far enough away that he won't even have to hear anyone utter the princess's filthy name, much less answer to her.

Are you kidding? They would be all over them and Sage doesn't share well. Plus there were nine others (More if we include First, Fierce, the cursed links, Calamity, etc.) There were not enough hours in the day for him to get the attention he requires. He's a needy bitch alright?

That being said, if the chain never knew about Reader? Now that is an idea. He could keep them away, all to himself, get all the attention he needs to function, and the chain would be none the wiser!

It was perfect really.

Besides, there's enough Links there, they probably don't need him. In fact, they could move on without him and he could stay here! With Reader! In a house of their own design without a care in the world. It's not like there weren't things to do! Reader could Garden (under sage's supervision), or have a horse in the pasture to take care of (It would have to be an old, nowhere near rideable horse), or maybe take up art (Which would-...Actually that seems relatively safe). He would be there for companionship!

And the best of all? You would never have to deal with Zelda (That wench) and neither would he! In fact, she wouldn't even be a breath of a thought. Not with Hateno and the castle so far. Tarrey Town didn't even have anything that would interest that fraud.

I think despite the hell Peppino went through, there are some levels/places that he actually enjoyed. Or at the very least, wouldnt mind visiting again. Off the top of my head, i am thinking of the saloon and the beach levels, but also the mini golf area 🥺

While i was playing the game (completely blind), I just assumed the tower was comparable to a real life train hub area; portals just led to different areas and districts. As in, these would be places you could visit outside of the tower if u had the means to take urself there. Its why despite the collapse, in the pepperman comic i did, he still offers to take Peppino to his villa. It still exists, its just that the shortcut the tower provided is gone. (This is also why Peppino and Gustavo can still do deliveries in the forest)

So like, now that the threat of losing his restaurant is gone, hes like. Some of those places looked Okay i guess 😒……. And Gustavo is like (prodding) ‘which places caught ur eye, then?’

Without the towers (pizzaheads) influence spawning in monsters to fight, the mini golf course is very fun. He gets to run Very Fast (already the best thing in the world) for very long periods of time, and smash into things to score goals. And if he wants to be Normal about it, he can just. Play golf the normal way lol (golf is also just a very calm sport to watch. He watches that shit all the time when hes home, and then passes out in his chair without realizing it)

The saloon is always nice to visit. It did blip on his radar as a place to try out, but he wasnt really incentivized to do so until vigilante started inviting him out. He doesnt go out often, but it is nice to have a little friend circle again :)

And the beach is like. Its a beach! Its weird for him; he probably didnt have any time or money to waste on shit like ‘visiting the beach’ before, so he feels out of place w all these people running around and having fun. He just likes to lay down and be in the sun :) He stays late into the evening, and drives back home in his shitty car 🧡 Everyone knows when he does his beach visit bc he tans so easily 😭

so Al claimed his name was actually Edward Cameron and to be one of the missing crewmen from “The Philadelphia Experiment” aka "Project Rainbow". here's some backstory:

so when this ship vanished it was said that a green or blue fog took it's place. which is so funny especially because what i believe the ST fog to be is a visual representation of when a timeline or dimension switch happens. and Al claimed he slipped through time at random and landed in 1983 at Camp Hero because of the vanishing ship.

like Vecna's victims get dragged to a different plane of existence or timeline when he has a hold on them (hence why they are no longer in their physical bodies) so cue the blue-green fog.

and at camp hero they did a lot of experiments with broadcasting to new alternate realities and time experiments. Duncan Cameron was used for these and they started to realize he could manifest objects outside the current time and they would appear hours or days later. which falls in line with ST. we see objects changing places especially right after some weird time-related thing just happened.

for example Joyce always "misplacing" her keys after shit happens to Will the night before, or Will's walkie falling in the bathroom but being right by his feet on the field.

eventually Duncan could open an aperture and they started abducting boys aged 10-16 to send through the portal (probably what Preston is talking about in that interview)

and their first training mission was always sending them way back in time to a world in ruins and without life.

grant: assassin rogue - the most sniper subclass to me, it’s all about killing as quick as you can unseen. Literally such a good subclass and I think grant deserves to slay like that

terry: conjuration wizard - so in tower of terry he’s very focused on creating a portal and teleportation and shit is conjuration magic and idk I like to think he internalized it. He had a sword in that one episode bc he likes to pretend he can be cool like that. He’s so cringefail to me. I have no opinions on the strength of this subclass bc I’ve never seen it played but wizards in general are cool and he’s a nerd

Nicky: cheating but fiend warlock - I think specifically warlock of like his dad bc every incarnation of him has been a daddy’s boy and you may ask which dad and to that I say both. Also he’s part of the blade bc of the big fuck you sword idk very basic very simple, warlocks are cool and I think he deserves the right to hurl someone through hell (though it’s weird I’ve always thought of Nicky being less of a classed character and more having like just a demon statblock like jodie)

sparrow: moon Druid - love wolf you know you know, moon druids are specifically ones who rely heavily on wild shape and I imagine sparrow just a wolf all the time, like that’s what he’s stated for and shit

okay @madnessmadness and anyone else within the venn diagram of ttrpgs and trigun: extremely long overdue explanation of how I accidentally made Knives in a Wizard Tower the big bad of my Dnd campaign:

So. I'll preface this by saying that I stumbled into Trigun after cooking up this particular guy. I saw the clip of baby Nai laughing as the ships fell and went Oh that's what I pictured for my campaign's backstory so I watched Tristamp and everything lined up a little too perfectly.

For starters, when my players and I sat down to start this campaign, we spent the first 6ish hours just building the world. They had a ton of input and came up with a few crazy things, like a giant desert filled with ancient tech that no one understands and some wild west towns; and the ancient tech was from a hypermagical society that mysteriously collapsed and there was genocide involved too? They basically set me up for this.

My big bad is a reflavored Karsus, the wizard in canon Forgotten Realms dnd lore who tried to become a god and fucked up magic for everyone else (Karsus's Folly -> the Spellplague). This also takes a lot of inspiration from Critical Role's Calamity, what with huge cities in the sky falling and the collapse of a hypermagical society thanks to drama between gods and mortals. I sprinkled in Prince of Egypt flavor and gave him a brother who tried to fix all the stuff Karsus fucked up. Said brother, Tarovir, was an accomplice to Karsus but tried to stop him when he realized how unethical Karsus' attempt at apotheosis was. This failed and Karsus essentially died horrifically, leaving Tarovir to wander a destroyed world and try to bury the essentially radioactive, corrupting magic unravelling around them. People distrusted him, knowing he had been on the Unethical Wizard Council and was Karsus's brother, but he keeps trying, fueled by guilt and shame. Some shit happens and Tarovir dies trying to send refugees through a portal to the feywild. Whoops.

Tarovir is reincarnated centuries later as our party's horizons walker ranger, who has no memory of his past life but is getting bits and pieces via weird portals back in time as the party travels around the map. This ranger is so fucking vash-coded. That was also unintentional. The player hasn't even seen Trigun, but she's playing a lonely half-orc who pushes people away and wields a gun and wanders the desert and has an inexplicable connection to the ancient tech that's being rediscovered from that era of High Magic... hm. Wait a sec.

Anyway. Karsus is back (party doesn't know yet) as what remained of him was discovered by a vampire (big bad #2, let's think of him as Legato but a male manipulator instead of a trafficking victim) who saw what was left of Karsus and went, yes, i'm imprinting on this guy like a baby bird, he was so powerful, let me resurrect him. This guy, Vaemyx... I'm just trying to say that he sucks (and not just bc he's a vampire). He has absolutely no empathy whatsoever and he's a little too obsessed with Karsus's delusions of power and his ex-girlfriend (the warlock's Feywild patron). Anyway. I think i got away from the point, which is that Karsus is now sitting around plotting how he's going to achieve apotheosis but better this time, and he's puppeting Vaemyx to do his bidding about it. Oh shit, I also just remembered that our paladin was a former paladin of the cult that Vaemyx also controls and she's in the weird process of breaking her oath but also kinda towing the line to avoid repercussions (this is about to fail spectacularly). That player has seen Trigun and already connected this girl to Wolfwood and his inner conflict. Yay.

I'll also say that Karsus' method of trying to achieve godhood kills a lot of people and fucks with necromancy (of course) (very FMAB style) and he has no qualms about this because, actually, non-magical and non-high wizards are scum to him. So he really doesn't give a fuck about collapsing society as he knew it except for the fact that his attempt didn't work the first time. And Vaemyx shares a similar hatred for people and wants to prove himself/also has some fucked up rejection dysmorphia and decides to make it everyone else's problem.

Y’all someone needs to tell me to try and open my eyes first before I just assume I’m in my OR still and try to shift again I’m so sick of myself. This has happened to many times 😭😭

To explain:

I’ve been sleeping practically all day cause I have a cold and I’ve been trying to sleep it off. I was dreaming and in my dream I realized it was a dream and started trying to make a portal. That never works for me though so I switched to affirming that I’d wake up in my DR. Now I always panic in lucid dreams cause I haven’t been able to reach rem state in sleep for a while so they never last but this one did (I’m gonna say it’s bc of the alpha waves I had on) so I quickly went to an elevator and got in and another girl came in too and some how I knew she was a shifter as well so I hope she made it alright. And I affirmed for my DR as the floors went down and then all of a sudden my vision went dark I felt like I was falling through the sky. I could hear wind whistling in my ears and ngl I was kinda freaking tf out 😭😭 but I kept calm and then it stopped and I felt like I wad coming to my senses again, like I was almost getting used to the position my body was in. I could feel that I was laying on my stomach, my head turned to the left, I wasn’t as propped up on pillows as I was in my OR (but again I didn’t really register that). Things were different is what I’m trying to say but all I could focus on was that I was still hearing the alpha waves I had on in my OR (which has happened when I’ve shifted before I still heard what my headphones were playing but it faded out eventually) and because of me hearing that I completely disregarded any other feeling of unfamiliarity and hyper focused on that. Because I did I assumed I was back in my OR and my affirming didn’t work so I didn’t try to ground myself instead I leaned in to the feeling of that in between state and felt my self sink into the surface I was on until I was falling again and I was back in my dream. This time I was less confident though; more desperate. So when affirming I was kinda unfocused, I was being quick and jittery; I was anxious. I felt myself falling again but this time it was nearly for as long. And my vision only blacked out for a moment before I looked like I was flying over a town but what I was seeing didn’t make sense which I now know means I had fallen back in to my unconscious dream. I kept affirming but it was unsteady and unsure. I woke up back in my bed in my OR and now I’m a little upset cause I’ve done this to myself too many times but I’m also very excited cause this was the first time I’ve genuinely tried shifted in awhile and it worked immediately. I felt myself there 😁😁😁😁 thank you to alpha waves 🙏🏾

P.S- forgot to mention this all happened within the span of 30-45 mins (???) cause I had woken up to go to the bathroom and then went back to sleep but I had checked the time before hand. Weird.

as you guys know, ive been super determined to shift recently and YALL I SWEAR I GOT SO CLOSE THIS MORNING !!!!

i had three very lucid dreams, so lucid in fact, that it felt like i had shifted until everything started going hazy and i failed a reality check ! ANYWAY LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THEM BC I FEEL LIKE IM GONNA SHIFT ANY MINUTE NOW FR FR

so it started with me waking up at 7am and then trying to sleep but failing so i decided to go on tiktok for a bit and then did an alunir julia method awake meditation which didnt work as an awake method so i rolled over and decided to try and get some sleep and then i had this random dream and i think i woke up and tried to get back into the dream but visualising it and then i felt myself begin to fall through my bed which is how ik im about to lucid dream, so i started affirming that i was in my dr and YALL THE SYMPTOMS WERE INSANEEE ! as i was falling through my bed i felt something wrap around my waist and it wasnt painful but it was quite tight and not exactly comfy but i powered through and it felt like my entire body was contorting like yk in stranger things s4 when vecna strikes his victims, THAT is what it felt like but not painful, just uncomfortable and weird. im shifting to my tsitp dr right, and after that weird contortionist shit was over, i heard waves crashing, birds chirping and people talking in the distance it was unreal but silly old me thought i had gone to sleep with audios playing (i hadnt) so i didnt realise i could’ve potentially mini shifted !?!? anyway, i woke up in this room and immediately knew something was off because i was in this really dull dark grey room that just had a double bed in it where i was sleeping. i got dragged out of bed by my feet by this kid and i was so confused and i somehow knew jeremiah was there and i called to him but he looked awful idk why but it was like walmart jeremiah and i did a reality check and didnt pass so i knew i was dreaming. i was like okay i have to go but can i have the jacket youre wearing rn and he was like um and i was like ok nvm can i just have a hoodie of yours and he went to get me one and then i was like actually im trying to shift, can you help me make a portal and he was like yeah sure so we made a portal together and i affirmed to activate shift this time and walked through it and then i ended up in this other reality which was like a wr but in my dream and i got a random witch from hp to help me make a portal and i kept trying to go through it except it was flying away ? eventually i did go through it and ended up in another reality similar to my dr, all the characters were there but something felt off again bc we were in this random house with all our suitcases ? and jeremiah walked through the door and he looked weird again so i did a reality check and my finger went straight through my palm so i laughed and then i lost lucidity and woke up but what a whirlwind. also there’s literally no way shifting is lucid dreaming lmfao get that idea out of your head fr

EPISODE REVIEW TIME:

SOOOO, not a whole lot to say about this episode. i'm super happy that morty was more involved!! it was kind of a weird plot that felt out-of-place for the season, but i guess that was the point.

a little list of my thoughts:

-RICK DRIVING MORTY TO SCHOOL. RICK DRIVING MORTY TO SCHOOL. so sweet. he's becoming a staple parental figure in the smith household.

-ANYONE ELSE PICKING UP ON THAT TENSION BETWEEN RICK AND CURTIS??? (i was hoping for a BP moment this ep but... when curtis paged him i was thinking "your crush will call you" and... uh... yeah, the shoe kinda fits...). honestly, i feel like their tension has shifted a bit from sexual to romantic, too???

-i thought it was kinda cute that rick was so interested in hosting the oscars.

-MORTY IS SO DAMN CUTE OH MY GOD. when he said "clever girl" i literally said "AWWW" out loud lmao.

-i really really loved the detail of rick drinking wine with beth. i know it's something small and silly, but i've really been waiting for a moment where rick drinks "beth's poison" while they have a drink together (since we know they often go "tie one on" etc.)

-THE BETHS IN THEIR OSCAR GOWNS??? AFLASGAHG

-morty was so cute in his little suit. (it gave me campain manager morty flashbacks to that scene after the debate in "the ricklantis mixup")

-i also loved the part where rick hit the mic with the oscar. that was so cutie.

-RICK THINKING HE'D IMMEDIATELY BE GOOD AT SKATING BC HE PLAYED PRO SKATER 3- i loved that. all of the details that he's essentially a teen boy.

-I LOVE THAT THEY'RE NOT REVERTING BACK TO RICK BEING A DICK TO MORTY. they have such a cutesy, domestic, and sweet type of relationship now. sure, there was the moment where he said calling morty a "genius" was ironic, but he tussled morty's hair and actually offered to take him to boob world. i think it was so fucking sweet for him to be like "figured my guy deserved a vacation!" truly some grandpa and grandson wholesomeness.

-i think that was kind of a cheap way to solve the whole portal travel/rift issue, though.

overall, i liked the episode. it was more of an adventure-type deal, and it brought back some more of the "rick and morty" dynamic the show has been lacking.

i have to say that it did feel sliiiightly more geared towards the "bro" side of the fandom this go around, which is a switch-up from this season so far- BUT, i feel like the teaser after the episode definitely left the door open for MORE serialization. that to build suspense coupled with the month hiatus has me thinking that this was more of a one-off episodic fakeout before they get a little deeper into the heavy stuff, but we'll see. the fact that they mentioned prime again in the season synopsis DEFINITELY had me thinking that he's gonna be relevant again.

i also feel like there wasn't enough of rick being an asshole to morty (quite the opposite, actually) and a little too much homosexual tension between rick and the president for this to be too much of a dudebro-centric episode lol. PLUS the "poor people" commentary in the beginning was definitely shitting on the top 1%.

(i feel like the elon musk mention was kind of confirmation that rick couldn't give two-shits about elon lmao).

so. number 36, for the readers, is one that i cannot tell to this friend bc it has spoilers. for something i want them to watch. so instead. theyre getting 38.

apocalyptic broadcast au!!!!! my beloved. its a little convoluted but.

jeremy's in a zombie apocalypse setting. and just general apocalypse. very welcome to nightvale "everythings going to shit its so weird here" vibes, complete with the fact that jeremy's one oddity is carrying around a microphone to record stuff and try to broadcast it to other survivors. he records everything, he tries to describe it, very podcasty. like an audio diary.

he keeps running into people and they keep dying. michael, christine, jenna, brooke, chloe, rich, jake. each and every single one of them dies in an apocalyptic way. the only people that stay alive are him and his sister. which is weird, right?

weirder is the fact that, in a totally normal parallel universe, jake's picking up this broadcast in his car.

jake dillinger's living out of his car, after his house burned down in a weird freak accident, and no one knows. the only reliable radio station is one where this kid, jeremy, is talking about his batshit sounding life. its weird to begin with. but its even weirder because he's saying the names of all these people that jake knows. michael mell, rich goranski, christine canigula. he knows these people.

but who the fuck is jeremy heere? no one like that exists.

he starts looking it up, and the only result is a forum about a character named that in a game that no one else's game seems to have.

and he reaches out to the guy, who ends up being michael mell, who sees this character in his copy of a video game, but no one elses saves have him. he's just a mysterious mod or something.

and shit gets even fucking weirder when jake himself appears in the radio show, which only plays when he's there alone. and he seems to have a crush on this guy before he dies in a horrible way.

and then theres some sort of weird portal thing, and a storm, and these two kids crash into the back of jake's truck, somehow falling from the sky.

and one kid is a girl around the age of 13. and the other is a gangly teenage boy with a radio microphone, wearing a faded varsity jacket with jake's last name on it.
