iirc ramshackle might be older than nrc? pomefiore's the oldest dorm, and snow white is the oldest disney movie, so we can assume that the dorms were founded in the order their respective movies were released. but the thru the mirror short is older than snow white
Yes, I mentioned Pomefiore's age in this post! Though it has yet to be confirmed in official materials, if we assume that the release date of the associated Disney animation represents the age of each dorm, that means the dorms, in order of youngest to oldest would be:
Ignihyde (Hercules, 1997)
Savanaclaw (The Lion King, 1994)
Scarabia (Aladdin, 1992)
Octavinelle (The Little Mermaid, 1989)
Heartslabyul (Alice in Wonderland, 1961)
Diasomnia (Sleeping Beauty, 1959)
Pomefiore (Snow White, 1937)
Ramshackle (Thru the Mirror, 1936)
What’s weird is that TWST tells us very explicitly that Pomefiore is the oldest dorm, even though Ramshackle is also said to be a dorm (there’s dialogue implying students used to be housed there). This results in a contradiction because if we assume the year the animation came out indicates how old the dorm is, Ramshackle should be considered the oldest, not Pomefiore.
So… either the animation year = age of the dorm assumption is incorrect (because, to be fair, this is a theory and not confirmed by the game), or there is a technicality in-universe which strikes Ramshackle from the running. Maybe Ramshackle didn’t start off as a dorm and only became one further down the line after Pomefiore was already established?? Or maybe since it fell into ruin it’s no longer a dorm to be compared to the other “active” 7??? There’s still a lot we don’t know about Ramshackle, so any of these ideas are equally as likely.

If you actually hate how Rachel Zegler disrespects the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, do not go see or stream the remake.
If you actually hate how Disney has turned the Lilo & Stitch live-action into a bad statement about race, do not go see or stream it.
If you actually believe that the original The Little Mermaid was perfect and needed no adjustments, and Eric was not a bland prince, do not go see or stream the remake.
If you actually thought that Emma Watson misread and mishandled the role of Belle, who, in the original, was expertly characterized, do not go see or stream the remake.
If you actually believe that the Genie wanted to be free, and Aladdin learned to trust, and Jasmine taught them both how, while the Live Action version ruined that, do not go see or stream the remake.
If you actually believe that the original Lion King movie was perfect and needed no bland NatGeoWild embellishment, do not go see or stream the remake.
If you actually believe that the Cinderella (2015) movie was a good remake, go out and buy the DVD—and then don’t go see and stream the other remakes.
Don’t do it. They don’t read our tumblr rants or watch our rage reels, but they count how many of us go see the new stuff. And they count our money as it goes into their bank account to fund the next one. And they count the time we spend on their streaming services. Teach them that we have standards, and the standards aren’t spectacle, and you can’t just buy us with soulless puppets of our favorite movies.
When you’re tempted to go hear the soundtrack play and listen to the dialogue you miss, just go watch the original. That’s what you really love.
#NotMyDisney alienated me with these last few movies, so I’m not playing the games anymore. Make movies for me, as if I’m the smart child you raised on good movies, or else I won’t go see them. If you guys want me, I’ll be waiting for the day that the Live Action Remake comes out, and then immediately streaming the original on Disney+.
Let ‘em measure how many seats are filled in their theaters, versus how many streams of the originals are playing on the same day.

Ok after that Lion King rant I'm here to add a part two of my Firstprince Simba Nala parallel because BOY DO I LOVE FINDING PARALLELS
We have the Bedroom Eyes TM
and then there's pouncing
(the lion king gif is a little slower than it actually is in the movie but you get the idea, also in the video Simba makes a ... sound when he hits the ground which baby me didn't not notice but 19.5 year old me noticed and ... doesn't know what to think)
And then we have... yeah I don't know how to name this one but you see the point
gif from tylerposey
Well I'm happy to know that my taste in ships has never ever changed 😂

I saw GIFs of Kovu and Kiara while scrolling for FirstPrince and my brain was like, “wait 🤔” and now I can’t unsee the similarities 😭
Just realized that Alex is even wearing a dark outfit in this last pair, like I can't
The Love Will Find A Way song/phrase is really fitting for FirstPrince too 🥹

Yknow i had some thoughts about this scene while rewatching the movie.
1. The whole movie Jadis had dreadlocks, and she still had them in the stone table scene, but now she doesn't. Does that mean before the battle, where everyone else is preparing and sharpening weapons and whatever, she spent the last hours before fighting with getting her hair right?
2. Look at that dress. Its a chainmail dress. Usually chainmail thingies for battles are formed like shirts, and they are hella heavy already. But this witch there decided that a shirt is not enough, she needs a dress made of chainmail which weights very very much, which makes her kinda badass and seem stronger than every human (cuz she is actually), and really, really dramatic.
3. Back to the hair. She has it open now, and together with the fur around her neck and the upper part of her dress it looks kinda like a mane. And the golden crown seems like it has fangs in the front and spikes that add to her mane in the back. My point is, i think her appearance here makes her look really much like a lion. Which is very interesting, considering that she set out to kill the lion.
