So, my favourite non musical theatre related artist is Hozier. Love his voice, love his aesthetic, love his "I grew up in an aggressively Catholic country" trauma (which I share, being Brazilian) and I think he's the greatest poet of our generation.

I love how Hozier-coded Fiyeraba is. Andrew talks about love that is bigger than life, about never having enough of the woman you love, about how sex is a religious experience when you are that in love, about how not even death could keep him away from his lover.... Because tell me why Fiyero dedicated his entire life to find her and keep her safe, ran away with her without her even having to ask him to, literally went on a suicide mission (because he knew what was going to happen to him) just so that Elphaba could have a chance to be free, died a horrific death, got brought back to life through his lover's power, love and need for him and immediately started crawling his way back to her, not even caring that he couldn't walk properly with his new body, and then sent her THIS NOTE:

"When my time comes around, lay me gently in the cold, dark, earth. No grave can hold my body down, I'll crawl home to her", anybody?!

Anyway, just me sharing some love for the greatest couple of all time, bare with me!

I am OBLITERATING that shit! I'm singing Elphaba, Glinda, the guards and even running against time to sing "let her go, she has nothing to do with it, I'm the one you want, it's me! (Elphie) IT'S ME!!!" in-between "I hope you're happy, my friend" and "so if you care to find me, look to the western sky...". I'm doing opt-ups and opt-downs, doing my own interpretation of it and putting my years of playing stand-and-bark mezzo characters while getting my Musical Theatre minor to good use!

finally got round to actually watching an obc wicked performance post movie and my life has been changed

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the movie and I'm not excited for Part II at all, but I have to give credit where credit is due, because tell me why since the new trailer came out I've been seeing die hard gelphie shippers say things like "oh my god, I never saw Fiyero through those eyes. Now I see why you guys ship Fiyeraba so much" excuse me?! This half ass movie did nothing to change the ElphabaXFiyero dynamic, they are exactly the same as they were on the original. Fiyero leaving everything behind and committing crimes to be with Elphaba is nothing new, Fiyero DYING (literally) to save the love of his life is nothing new, but you guys are just now realising that?

That genuinely makes me think if Gelphie shippers have ever seen Wicked at all before or if all you knew were the soundtrack, fanfictions, fanarts and Tumblr gifsets?

Also, despite hating how most of the characters were portrayed, I actually love Jonathan Bailey's take on Fiyero, I think he was spot on, and that helps a lot!

Also, we're probably not getting OG cameos on this one, which was the only reason why I saw Part I, in theatres on opening night, might I add (it's so easy to take money out of me, if Idina Menzel is there I'm paying anything to see it), so the only thing that could make me go see it is if they put Jonathan's resume and Bridgerton experience to good use and make ALAYM as porny as they can possibly get away with, and I have a feeling they might, because in case y'all didn't know, the original Brazilian Elphaba and Glinda are also the voice actresses for the movie, and starting from march this year they put up on a new non replica production here in São Paulo (which I'll see next week) and they have added a lot of things from the movie, because they dubbed both parts last year and know how the entire thing goes, and y'all have been obsessing over how horny their ALAYM is, and I suspect they might be trying to tell us that's how it's gonna be in the movie, so...
