honestly i don't doubt i'll get shit for this but as i'm noting down thoughts for my aventurine portrayal i just can't help feeling disappointed that i know he's going to be another super interesting character watered down to a mlm ship lmao. it's such a recurring trend in hyv fans, looking at wrio and neuvi who were immediately thrown together in thirst when they were just leaked aesthetic concepts who we knew! nothing! about! bc lyney got the twink treatment (another thing altogether but i'm not getting into that right now kjfhg) and they were the only two attractive men left. finally showed up in the game and barely interacted for more than a minute and you absolutely cannot go through either tag on any platform without drowning in largely nsfw content lmao. idm the ship personally but they don't exactly have the substance many people act like they do. it just sucks that it's the main point of interest you tend to see for a lot of really complex and interesting characters, and knowing that aventurine / d ratio are probably going to be treated in the same way is sooo annoying to me
