Today was a good day. Being busy enough to not have time to check this app is almost always good for my wellbeing. I promise I'm not a bag of misery, like I have a happy disposition and when I get to do fun things like go to the movies with a friend and play an informal jazz showcase with the sightreading big band I've been playing with this summer. I had a good time, felt good about my playing, everyone was so nice and I was in SUCH A GOOD MOOD after. We went out to dinner and I haven't been in such a good mood since after our Taiko concert at the start of summer. I like performing and playing and I wanna do it more. I wanna show up to more jam sessions - I'd really like to start singing at them too. I'm a capable jazz pianist, but I think I'd have a better time singing. Dare I say there are more good jazz pianists than jazz singers? Anyway yeah today was a good day I feel good and am excited for my visit home tomorrow!!

oh yeah, today is my bday

which whatever, hate my bday (not because of aging but bc of numerous other ~reasons~)

but decided to actually try celebrating it this year, just not on my actual bday

and it (friday) resulted in my roommates breaking up (yesterday)

bc i asked him if he could use a nicer tone with my dog, and he proceeded to belittle me, tear into me, tell me ima bad dog parent, bully me, and just straight be an asshole...

when he KNEW i hate my bday and celebrating it, and wanted to try this year, and he has yet to apologize for his treatment of me. he actually hasn't spoken to me since.

it's just like, wow, that boulder really always comes tumbling down during any bday celebration

(not as bad as the time i got a call my sister fell into a coma due to dr's negligence, flew down to see her with nothing on me other than my wallet and the clothes on my back, and then proceeded to watch her die in front of my eyes, as my dad collapsed on the ground and my mom shouted, "NO NO NO" over and over again) :-)
