Let's talk ships today.

I'm going to spit out some personal headcanons about them. Few inspired by cetaceans!

I believe that ships with their disadvantage of size and limitations to only being in water, in a hierarchy, they wouldn't be the 'dominating' vehicle. I feel like if there was like a hierarchy, cars would be on the top due to various advantages in terms of size and their build. I mean in WoC movies we've seen cars take up many jobs, and the buildings or the cities are usually to their liking and comfort of living. Anyway, back to ships!

-> First, Evolution and types: I imagine that ever since boats came into existence, they were relied on by other vehicles like cars and such. And that grew onto them and became their sole purpose. I believe they evolved according to the new demands to fulfill their purpose. Various ships developed, such as cargo, passenger, vehicle carrier, warships etc. The only change in them is how technological they are. Like sail-ships becoming ships operating with oil, which is a change they took in to keep up with the demands. Pretty much how oceanliners were quite literally forced to evolve into cruise ships. How do they evolve? Maybe for example changing their build, as we know vehicles can modernise themselves, and those genes being passed onto their offspring.

-> Adaptation & learning: They tend to adapt to changes quickly. They are made to resist all sorts of weather, adapt to new environments, and job changes (Like Langley being turned into an aircraft carrier from collier). In learning part, they have excellent memory and learn basics of anything if thought right. Their analytical skills and reasoning skills are pretty good in most ships.

- Most who are built are raised strictly to be best for their profession.

-> General view: Gentle giants! I love to think of ships being the utmost gentle, atleast most of them hah.

-> Eating habits; Ships can go on without eating for long periods, as long as they are regularly fueled. However they are capable of consuming most foods taken by smaller boats or vehicles which they could possibly enjoy after those long gaps of not eating lol.

-> Sleeping habits: Ships sleep for rather short intervals. Due to their work, they've adapted such habits. Most ships are capable of staying awake for days. Mainly due to the rough conditions at sea and such. In calm seas, i imagine ships taking short naps as the crew onboard monitor them. And with their extensive usage in war, some warships and other ships as well have been able to sleep with half their brain at rest (like dolphins and whales!).

-> Flexibility; ships are surprisingly flexible to a certain extent. Mainly in turning to their sides and their front have section up and down. Although they are quite slow when doing so lol.

-> Reproduction: While ships are built, they are capable of reproduction. How do they do the 'deed'? Well, male whales have quite the interesting member mechanism. The whale can literally control/guide it. So yeah, that concept but with ships lmao (I watched a documentary that's how I know 💀). The female's gestation period lasts 1 year.

-> Sensory organs; their sight and hearing is usually very sharp. Sense of touch is slightly poor due to their huge build and material. Sense of smell is the poorest of all sensory organs of theirs.

The thing that really doesn’t make sense about the “Jason and Piper were only together because of Hera” misconception, even if you take it out of the actual context of what happens in canon that gets forgotten, is… that Jason has amnesia?

He doesn’t get any of those false memories.

The plot hinges on him remembering next to nothing.

Hera never influenced him this way.

Piper and Leo are the only ones to remember that relationship.

Hera literally has no hand in half of this equation and honestly, she didn’t make Piper and Jason a couple in the Mist made memories either, Piper was seeing the possible love they could have.

i'm 1 episode out from the end of adults season 1, and i'll finish it later tonight but i did see some spoilers for the last episode, and i feel some type of way? but maybe i'm just projecting as a Brown Girl™

and this might honestly have more to do with what i've seen of the posts here on tumblr, but i feel weird about the way folks seem to be so heavily focusing on the paul/anton aspect and deciding issa will be sooo supportive, and how they'll be a throuple. and while i do think they'll probably end up in throuple territory eventually, something about the way issa's being sidelined from her own relationship and written off as already supportive and won't have any issues when she probably needs time to process her boyfriend and friend having feelings for each other.... it's weird to me!

Anyway it was an experimental try and uhh he looks a little off because I ended up making him tinier because i drew him in a horizontal way instead of vertical in the book lol. His nose was literally to long to fit

Anyway, here's some hcs about my boy since i dunno what else to say:

-Is always seen bright and fine. He hides his feelings for others. Is calm and composed during stressful situations lol.

-Is very protective of his class ships. Is a father-figure for all of them

-Outgoing, determined, courageous, supportive, still wise, overprotective sometimes.

-Goofy guy, is capable of being more annoying than the naughty ones in his crew

Since its hanami season in Japan, Shu and Michi are enjoying the sight of the sakura blossoms.

Raoul is also there, he's just sucking from Shu's frame and also enjoying the seasonally made sakura blossoms biofuel in Shu's hometown.

Already finished!

It was quite cute to make. Oh and yeah I couldn't quite get the shape to make Raoul biting Shu, so I opted to leave a few little bite marks on him.

They actually share a passion for the great outdoors. Although our girl is every inch a bookworm, she does enjoy going on the occasional hike. Which is perfect for a nomad like Ari, who gets a little twitchy if he's forced to stay indoors for too long.

He's actually trying to convince her to go camping with him. Bird is thisclose to saying yes. Her Beast has dreams of teaching her how to fish, before building her an amazing fire to make them dinner, and then make love to her under the stars.

Additionally, they also love watching documentaries. The next one on the docket is season two of The Jinx.

14. Do they enjoy PDA, or are they more private with affection?

It's taken some time, but Bird has grown increasingly more comfortable with public displays of affection. She still occasionally tenses up when they're in town, depending on where they are and the time of day.

If they're out grocery shopping at 5:00pm, Ari will settle for resting a hand on the small of her back or keeping a hold of one of her hands. But if it's later in the evening, say around 9:00pm, when the store is mostly empty, it's a different story.

The gentlemanly hand that is normally reserved for the small of her back now rests on her hip. And instead of lacing his fingers through hers, he uses his big body to trap her between himself and the cart as they shop. Meanwhile, she's too busy giggling and occasionally grinding her ass against him, to tell him to stop and sound like she means it.

That said, Ari and Bird are the most comfortable when they are hanging out just outside of town limits where nobody knows them. Now, when they're out exploring nearby fun, that same proprietary hand that was once reserved for Bird's lower back and hip can now be found tucked securely in the back pocket of her jeans.

When they feel free to be themselves, Bird has no problem pressing kisses to their clasped hands. The same way Ari has no problem sneaking up on his woman to nuzzle at the crook of her neck before whispering something dirty in ear.

In those moments, she doesn't ask him to stop - not even in jest. Instead Ari is treated to a soft, breathy moan followed by three little words: "tell me more."

“if you hide your conservative opinions on women in cute progressive aesthetic you'd get away with a lot”- from what I have seen in fandoms, doing the bare minimum of avoiding sexist bullcrap in interpreting white characters means you can then indulge in the exact same crap regarding poc female characters with so-called progressive fans applauding you for it. These people love calling out sexism and racism when its from stereotypical dudebros; but when its from them, then its a natural response

Oh yeah! It's kind of wild how branding is essentially everything lol. Supposedly progressive fans will eat up a really conservative take on Lois (not an accomplished career woman, infantilized, her best accomplishment according to ep 7 is "being a good girlfriend", also "worst Lois in the multiverse") if you shoot enough characters with the diversity beam you'll have fans defend it. I've wondered before if Snyder's take on Supes would have been better received if it was presented like MAWS (because MAWS has repeated many of Snyder's bad creative decisions with far less fandom criticism).

It's transparent how differently fandom treats white male characters compared to WOC. If a writer wrote a bad run on their favorite white boy it's "grr this writer doesn't understand him! I ignore that take" but if a WOC is written lazily by a white writer, it's "I hate her she's awful when I catch you girlie, etc" and so little criticism is made for the racism of the white author who wrote her. They'll hide it all under saying they care about representation or feminism but it's clear that white characters with flawed writing are given way more of a chance and lenience in comparison to a flawed WOC character.

note and disclaimer: if you don’t know i love the ship between clark kent and chloe sullivan in smallville. their relationship is so complex, yet it’s comforting and raw. i was having a conversation with @yugiohio, we agreed that if pete ross wasn’t casted as an african american, we thought that chloe’s role would’ve been filled with a poc actress to add ✨diversity✨. let me tell you chloe’s bob, clothing style, personality, and chemistry with clark were off the chain. i felt deep in my soul she would’ve been black (my opinion/head canon) and her character would’ve had some substance. so we came up with the hc for black!chloe.

even though chloe’s character is portrayed by a white actress and i love her too! she falls in that sad trope of (mostly poc) female best friend of a male mc that’s written to be undateable to him even though she’s known him for years and she falls for him because they have been through so much in life together as it is. with that type of friendship and trust, there’s gonna be some feelings that are beyond platonic! then that line is crossed and it fails miserably or that line is never thought of because the mc would be considered out of that female character’s league because she is a poc…that’s where the ball is dropped sadly.

so in conclusion:

this is a HEADCANON/AU/WHAT IF! if you don’t like it, get off my blog. i pay the bill on this phone and i’m gonna say what i’m going to say. ofc ik chloe sullivan isn’t black canonically, neither is pete ross in the comics, so i don’t wanna hear that shit. stay tuned because i got more ocs and hcs coming.

I'M ALIVE- AIRCRAFT CARRIERS JUST TAKE TOO MUCH TIME

This right here is USS George HW Bush, nicknamed "Avenger".

The name George exists because the US Navy gave it to her, kinda like a display name? Most ships have alternate names as well, and if you guys have ideas for it please tell I'm bad at making decisions aa

About her:- She's usually either grumpy or chill. She also has anger issues but ofc like most aircraft carriers has to keep control on those emotions. From the start she pushed herself to give everything her all, even though she despises being an aircraft carrier sometimes and nags about it.

She's sharp and quick to react. And she will go to any extent to keep those who she loves and her crew as safe as possible. She's also there for those who need her and can be real polite; showing her other side. She's usually chill with her crew and other ships and all, and just keeps a grumpy cat face.

She is in a current relationship with Gerald R Ford. She's a big softie around Gerald and often finds comfort with her. She's always there to boost up Gerald when it comes to her insecurities. She's also close to Flysenhower and shares him more things than she does with any other of her 'siblings'.
