"The Vampire Chronicles characters are exercises in the cycle of trauma and abuse and how they are capable of complex emotions and receiving and giving love and empathy alongside all the horrible shit they do to one another" and "Anne Rice herself was a bigot and had some shitty personal beliefs and just because the genre is Gothic Horror doesn't mean you ignore the way those ideas bleed into the writing. Not all commentary is good commentary" are two sentiments that can and SHOULD co-exist, what the fuck are we doing.

seeing the collective psychosis that white women are going through on tiktok about this “ballerina farm” woman is so insane and infuriating because these people will claim to be feminists but it’s radio silence when there’s thousands of missing native american women and black women getting murdered by cops in their own homes everyday.
people saw this white woman who CHOSE not to go to julliard and instead chose to get married, have 8 children, and live a mormon lifestyle and lost their minds. you never hear them speak about any other social justice issues but as soon as this stay at home mom does an interview about the life she CHOSE to have it’s uproar and we all need to save her.
it’s commonplace in other countries for women to be literally forced into marriage and forced to bear that many children and you don’t hear ANYTHING about it. but this woman says that she wanted to be a ballerina and instead is now a stay at home mom married to a billionaire and i’m seeing thousands of videos about how “heartbreaking” her situation is.
and i’ve heard so much about how “you can care about two things at once” and yeah, that’s true but the thing is the people saying that could not give a shit less about the systemic oppression of women of color literally right in front of their faces.

Doctor Who report! We finished S8 and we loved it, Twelve is great! This season started really strong for us, we loved "Listen" and there were many fun episodes!! sadly the "kill the moon" episode also happened and it was such a mess that we are going to pretend it never did lmao I'd rather talk about what I loved instead and that is Missy!! HELLO?? I always enjoy The Master so this was such a treat!! I love her I hope she comes back next season!! Clara's and Danny's character development on the other hand we didn't enjoy as much and we felt it kind of went downhill since the moon episode but I'm curious to see where Clara's arc is going from here. I love Capaldi so damn much!! Also the 60 anniversary special is coming out tomorrow and we are so excited!! 😭 I need to draw so many things about this show already but things keep getting in the way AAA I have a ton of deadlines, a few events to attend to and a trip on top of it all next week so I'm losing my mind but I will have some art and stuff to share soon I promise!! I hope you are all doing well, I love reading your comments and opinions and I'm very grateful for the messages!!

I love how Fire and Blood shows time and time again how Targaryen women are passed over, usurped, abused, killed, raped, and slandered, all building to Daenerys, a Targaryen woman who rises to great power while seeking justice and salvation for all those crushed beneath the oppressive systems of her world... just to be usurped and killed so that we can place a man on the throne again.

Haunted holy and divine snippet
“I’ll bring you something,” Azriel murmured. Allow me, let me, my black stained hands were made for such work. He back away first, before standing, wings melting into shadow to allow her space. “You’re safe here. I promise.” An arched brow, her expression a wound long-festered. “What kind of safe, this time? Should I expect to be drowned, or beaten next?” Azriel had been made to kneel to lesser men his whole long life. There was no resemblance to the gesture when he slid to the ground at Nesta Archeron’s feet, Truthteller unsheathed. Pure and right darkness- it hurt, unexpectedly, her surprise. His blade did not bite, mournful. Azriel slowly, gently, wrangled her shocked still hands, until Nesta understood to wreath his grip in her own. Only then did star steel drink deep. “What are you”- She swallowed the sentence when Azriel raised his head. “I made my vows to Rhain. Rhysand inherited them. Yanked like they were leading strings my whole life. No vow is true without blood.” Black climbed through the silver of her eyes, pupils expanding. She could smell him bleeding. Not a monster, not a human, and not a faery either. “You will be safe,” Azriel whispered, drip of blood an echo, “I will keep you safe.” Nesta swallowed. “Why?” It was a question he deserved, though it made the sting no less. She let him meet her gaze. Stare. Morning skies and endless fire, corpse-pale dead and dreaming blue. Azriel told the truth. He would do nothing less, before her. “Because I cannot stand to do anything else.” “Fine,” Nesta exhaled, temper only in form, “Fine.” She pulled on his hands, as though to raise him. Nesta, who’d been a lady once- did those mortal lords render themselves supplicant for her favor? Had she ever accepted even one? “Rise.” She did not let go. Azriel could not stand without being near, so close the shadows hung still, silenced by Nesta’s gaze flickering over him. Her cold, brittle hands, hooked tight on his soul. A vow he had chosen. A vow he would keep.

it’s deeply funny to me that radfems are out there calling other people “libfems” when they’re lib as shit on every issue that’s not sexism and some issues that are like. bro the issue is that you are not radical enough y'all are milquetoast libs at best when it comes to any sort of activism that isn’t about cishet able bodied neurotypical white wealthy women. like bro you can't be demonising mental illness and saying mentally ill people should be locked up because they’re dangerous, or argue for the continued dehumanisation and objectification children face that contributes to severe abuse, or mock gay men as disgusting predators and pretend you’re much different from an enlightened centrist who thinks women complain too much you’re more progressive in exactly one aspect. and even in that you fucking suck you invented brand new insults for abuse victims bc women being victimised by men are just stupid handmaids who should have known better than to tempt him i mean should have known better than to trust a man like it’s just what were you wearing rhetoric but condescending instead of outright cruel. like y'all sound like conservative christians talking about how men can’t help it and if you’re raped it’s your fault but in a way that frames men as inherently bad for it without removing the idea that women are stupid temptresses that would have known better bc you’re still framing it as provoking an inherently dangerous creature and not. a person choosing to be shit in ways that are Influenced by culture but not inherent to anyone raised in any environment like abuse is an active choice men make and not the default. if every man chose it then the fault would be with women for trusting a wild animal to not act like a wild animal but this is somehow radical and feminist if we say we hate men too like no you’re not even lib you’re conservative at this point how do you get into a battle with fucking choice feminism and lose at respecting women like you got into a fight with a coughing baby and still lost how do you victim blame more than fucking choice feminism it’d be impressive if it wasn’t so mysogynistic

My personal feelings in the Fionna and Cake ending is that it was perfect.
The story showed about how we can only control what is in our very personal and small world and not worry about or take on the responsibilities of that outside ourself.
We will make mistakes and wish we could rewrite them over and over and over until it’s perfect but we can’t. We will hate aspects of our lives and adore aspects of lives we don’t know the intricacies or hardships of but we can not insert ourselves. We have our own lives to live and rather than define it by a given purpose let us define the purpose as we go along. Not everything is revealed when it’s over, you may not get the answers but it’s okay to go somewhere and not know.
Some endings are happy, some are sad and some are just that, endings. They don’t have neat little bows or a “The End” on the last page but they allow us to put the past down and move on to whatever else lies ahead.

I need to find someone who worded this better but. This is your friendly reminder that a woman can be as masculine as she wants. A man can be as feminine as he wants. A nonbinary person can be feminine and masculine and androgynous and whatever they want: everyone can! Your expression and appearance and hobbies etc do not have to conform within a box to be allowed to exist, do not have to match those rigid lines of societys expectation of gender roles in any way at all for you to Be the Gender you Are. You are the gender you feel you are. Your expression can be and is whatever you want, and does not have to match up to expectations.

I think I really hate the trend of bi women calling their boyfriends "fruity" to justify dating them/ bringing them to pride.
First of all, they usually equate their "fruitiness" with certain behaviors that you can clearly insinuate they interpret as feminine. Insisting that certain behaviors make straight men "kinda gay" is not helpful in dispelling the misogynistic idea that any behavior that falls outside of macho masculinity is effeminating and makes men gay.
But most importantly, Bi people don't need to justify their choice of partner. There is nothing wrong with dating a straight man. There is nothing wrong with loving straight men. There is nothing inherently wrong with being a straight man. Bi women aren't less valid for dating men. Stop criticizing bi women for their choices. Full stop.

what happened to butch + masc/gnc women taking testosterone with the understanding that it doesn't change your biological sex. what happened to lesbians who took T while occupying the butch role unapologetically. what happened to the women who were seen as men by everyone except other gnc women. what happened to those moments of tenderness in recognising another woman's femaleness, reconciling that with her masculinity, understanding the space she took up and why she did so. why does everyone use they/them pronouns. are there other people like me? am i setting a bad example? am i erasing a future little girl's role model by making the choices i do? will i inevitably be grouped in with the trans crowd? is it possible to be recognised as a woman who looks and sounds like a man anymore?

,,,,Bombshell my bbygirl,.
Tumblr media
#she is So fucking cute & as a standalone design i love her but#for WOYS2's main villain.. for WOY's MAIN CAST........ bro absolutely not this is literally just 'hrjfdf woman hot' villan and nothing else#swapping this out for manic hot topic gremlin bastard lesbian was where they struck gold like. ty god hrjbhsdjgfbng#not that the way they used dominator was /perfect/ by any means#bc believe you me there's a few things in the show that were ehghhghhh at best & stuff from the crew that pisst me AWFF at worst but#overall dom was really solid. the purpose her character served and the writing & character building choices for her were all *chef's kiss*#there was a lot about her whole vibe that was communicated REALLY WELL through her design alone imo#(and a lot about her personality and motivations that you could gleam from JUST her first out-of-suit appearance on its own#i just really wish they'd given WAY fewer fucks about her being pewtty or conventionally attractive or Whatever bRO IT'S HOLDING YOU BACK!!#i dont think Any of that stuff was prioritized when brainstorming for bombshell here 😭 maybe they hadn't fleshed out those ideas yet#bc with Bombshell? the only things her design communicate are that she's hot & apparently that's Important + she has a bug theme going on#& i GUESS that she's ostentatious & goes for v loud clothing. those pauldrons command a room#so you can get ''commandeering'' and MAYBE even ''powerful'' from that#but for a MAIN VILLAIN meant to majorly challenge the main cast & shake up the show‚ THat is extremely milquetoast!!!!!!#again there's rlly nothing here to take away from her design overall other than that she's sexy. why define her that way for being a her#it's such a big ''nah man''#it's tired it's been done to death#the read you get on her from Overall Vibes alone are very bland!!!#i have to wonder at what point they really started to get the ball rolling in the right direction w/ their S2 big bad to end up w dominator#wondering if maybe it was when they figured they should make her a punk to contrast wander being a hippie?#do you think maybe they just got input from women#grateful every day for the absolute bastard supreme we ended up with#finalhaunts
