HERE IT IS!! after Many moons of chipping away at this OC song comic for my scifi-noir android character Whitney and his bodyguard Bast, it is finally as complete as it shall ever be;; I’m proud of the work I put into this one! Pretty niche, but maybe some folks out there will enjoy UuU

there is probably an entire essay i could write about how 'chuck dixon hates poor people' is very true but is a lot more nuanced in that 'chuck dixon hates poor people, but no, not those type of poor people, he thinks they deserve a helping hand actually' and 'don't mistake what's actually racism & sexism for what seems to be classism, because again, he doesn't hate that type of poor person, actually' & 'in order to understand this mindset of his you also need to understand 90s conservativism & how he can support some poor people and not others and how he can be inherently contradictory like that, the eras in which he grew up and shaped his worldview' & 'this mindset of his is so baked into the characters of tim and steph in different ways & while tim's is more overt and easy to see, it's also a little easier to divorce from his character because it's so overt and in your face, but steph's story is a lot more insidiously conservative and everything about his conservative mindset & conservativeness of her story is far more inherent and so baked into every formative and key aspect of her character it's actually harder to do with steph without completely changing her as a character'

⚖️ (Scales) - On the subject of a certain someone’s lengthy rant; is your OC moreso on the side of magic or science? Somewhere in-between? Do they incorporate the two together in some way?

🍅 (Tomato) - If Kirby absorbed them or their attacks, what Copy Ability [or Abilities] would he get? Alternatively, if they themselves are capable of using the Copy Ability, do they have a favourite?

Gracing this one with a bit more…elaborate answer because I May have gotten carried away asdkfjn

But Yes, Stell would pick the Horns of Hydra! I imagine the puzzle of amassing and assembling a legendary machine would tickle Stell’s fancy, though I Will include the disclaimer that this comic is largely non-canon, as should the two ever meet I imagine it’d go down more like:

If his aesthetic doesn’t say as such, Stell is wholly on the Tech side of beliefs! As a non-magic user, they can’t help but be a bit bitter about their supposed lack of innate magic abilities, and instead of stewing in such horrid horrid feelings, has chosen to shove it all aside and pretend magic doesn’t exist to cope asdfkjn. (It’s more complex than that) Listen, he’s so unbothered by it!!

That being said, it’s honestly pretty Impressive he’s gone this far with that mindset while living on a magic clockwork wishing star asdfkjgn

Phemus:

I actually drew this at the same time as Stell’s haha, but Phemus’s designated Kirby Cafe Treat is a parfait with chocolate cake layered with orange and mango mousse, topped with a generous layer of ganache! Very tasty :>

THIS WEEK IS GONNA BE A MON-WED-FRI UPDATE That is because this is the last update of the year - We normally do take some time off in December-January because this month is usually full of family holiday events and @alainaprana’s kids and nieces birthdays and all kinds of irl stuff.

However, we are taking much more time THIS year because the next update will be - and we stress - a massive bulk update. We’re getting to a part of the comic that we do not feel comfortable ‘drip feeding’ with slow updates, we want the entire context to be read at once so it will be a large - LARGE mass update that will happen all at once. So we need to prepare that + at least a couple weeks ahead of that to make sure when we start again we don’t slow down. we don’t have an exact date when that will happen, it will be done…when its done. With all that, I hope you guys have some LOVELY holidays!!

really want to write a post on minna sundberg's bizarre fluffy bunny calvinism autobio comic without going into a way too personal dive into my own mental illness and how insanely #relatable reading about her nihilism death spiral felt, and how surreal it felt to see that presented in a comic with anthropomorphic rabbits. except i didn't become a hardline calvinist about it and tell my readership that they were going to hell, i guess 👍 i stay winning..........

i love writing media metas, but i love writing specific character metas more, and i especially love going back and reading metas because then it truly gets highlighted, how much the process of understanding a character is a process of projection and understanding yourself by the proxy of a character. I fucking love it when i read through my character metas and can acutely see how much of it is me filling the empty spaces of a character with what i am because there's just enough shared ground between us for me to be able to fit the outline of the character and write into all the blank spaces in them.
