Having the code impersonate Chayanne and Tallulah was absolutely perfect.
Nobody else would have called out the egg's weird mannerisms. They'd have noticed, but they would just assume their eggs were being played by someone else and made a mistake with their models.
When Phil told Forever, his immediate assumption was that the admins had made a mistake with their models. Fit was hesitant to believe it.
And even if Phil didn't know something was wrong, he would still know that Chayanne and Tallulah weren't themselves. 02 was the chef. He knew that wasn't Tallulah immediately, it took a little while before he realised that was bad. Even then, it wasn't that long. Tallulah didn't respond to him and he knew immediately.
And as soon as he knew, he was on edge. He knew something was going to happen and he was ready to react. If 'Chayanne' hit him, he hit back. He knew that wasn't his kid. He knew and he wasn't going to pretend,
I think this is something very unique to Phil but also, the code has definitely been targeting him and this confirms it. The code has it out for Phil and always has.
I think this also means that Phil will start to be more paranoid if the eggs are played by different admins. I can't imagine this not being one of those events. Phil will see any shift in behavior and be on edge until its confirmed everything is okay.
also kind of unrelated but Phil crashing the moment the eggs changed is absolutely amazing. Q!Phil passing out just as the fakes reveal themselves jsbdjsbsjsnjs
Thinking about that one post that tried to put all/most of the blame on Charlie for her strained relationship with her dad as if one of her lines in More Than Anything wasn’t “When I was young, I didn’t really know you at all” AND IN THE FLASHBACK SHE LOOKS LIKE FIVE LIKE ARE YOU TELLING ME A FIVE YEAR OKD STARTED BEING A BITCH TO HER FATHER FOR NO REASON 😭
Not to mention Lucifer LITERALLY forgot about her being at the hotel “where are you, these days” “you know where I am dad! I told you when you called me five months ago….”
Oh!! And she wasn’t mad about him being negative towards the hotel “for no reason” or “because she was fishing for a yes”, no no no!! She was mad that he was INSULTING HER GUESTS while the hotel was UNDER ATTACK
And finally, since apparently this needed to be said, when you call your child, you do not list the reason you are calling them as you being bored. My father is a raging narcissist and even he knows not to do that. If you want to spend time with them or talk to them, you say that.
So TLDR hi let’s not put all the blame on the child when they have a strained relationship with their parent
Sincerely, someone who has a strained relationship with their father
Bit of a (late) long-ass personal post, but this past year has been insanely monumental for me and a lot of it, if not almost all of it, was centered around this silly comedy show.
Starting the year adopting the most perfect cat in the world purely because he looked like Agent Jack Bauer, I've ended up meeting amazing people and making great friendships, both online and in person, I met Glenn and Charlie and MEE and Meg (and Humphrey) and Danny?? got my first tattoo, bought way too much whiskey, and I've just really, genuinely enjoyed my time posting on Tumblr, making shit, and writing fic more than I have in half a decade. It's stupid, and sappy, and probably pretty parasocial, but I owe so many of my best experiences this past year not only to the show, but to joining this community. Because I wouldn't have experienced much of any of this if I hadn't jumped the casual fan on r/IASIP ship and washed up ashore here. And being here has improved my life and my mental health in ways I can't even begin to properly express.
So here's a photo dump of what I have to dub "A Very Sunny 2023":
To everyone here, thank you for being a part of my 2023. I'm not sure what 2024 has in store, but I'm happy I'll be here, creating and experiencing whatever it is, through and beyond.
No because the thing that gets me most about Creature of Habit is the amount of insane things Charlie was willing to do before opening up emotionally. Hard drugs? Sure. Yelling at all your coworkers that you did their moms? Yeah why not. Recklessly endangering himself and others simply to see what might happen? Hell yeah. But GOD ABOVE FORBID that he may have to. Think about his feelings.
Like he's well aware that nothing he does will have any consequences- it's kind of a staple of his mindset throughout the whole thing. Yet every time he has to face any sort of feelings, ESPECIALLY his own, he runs. Because HE will remember in the morning and he doesn't wanna have to think about it. He'd rather spend every day waking up alone, reliving the same thing over and over and over, than face the fact that maybe he does actually have Feelings and avoiding them is maybe Bad and does have Consequences
REQUESTING. GHOSTKICKS MORAILS... looking up at u with my big wet sopping creature eyes. alternately i would LOVE 2 see art of ur fish guy the way u have been talking about his biology is so compelling 2 me. OR tide with weird fish biology also.... ;---;

i think triton "hair" is not actually hair and is instead a form of algae . i was in the google doc trenches for like an hour last night about hair algae specifically i wrote 6 paragraphs about it and made up a fake scientific name for it and everything. when it's wet, freshly out of the water, it's slimy and straight and dark in color. after it dries (partially- the roots are still kept wet/alive at the scalp by a triton's natural moisture) it becomes lighter in color and behaves more like a humanoid creature's hair
ALSO TIIIIIDE. im a big "tide can breathe underwater" truther so. he gets 3 pairs of torso gills and one pair of neck gills. bc theyre cool. also partially webbed fingers and his canon ear fins except i made them Bigger :]
I wish Hazbin had more than 8 episodes this season bc 1) the pacing is all over the place (outside of episode 4) and 2) it would’ve been so nice to actually see when and why Alastor started to genuinely care about the hotel.
The pilot and the first episode of the show characterize him as sticking around for the entertainment because of how silly the idea of redeeming a sinner is to him but then episode 5 has him fully backing up Charlie’s wishes for the hotel and even tells Mimzy she’s welcomed to stay if she actually wants to try redemption and was upset she had put the hotel in danger with her presence.
I think that turnaround in Alastor’s perspective is so interesting but when did that happen? Why did that happen? How did that happen? What made him care?
He clearly still has ulterior motives, there’s 0 denying that given his scene with Husk in the same episode, but he does seem to actually care about Charlie and her hotel. Which can be connected to the leash Husk claimed Alastor is bound by but Alastor is also the most distant from the cast.
We never see him around everyone for more than a few minutes at a time. Everyone went out to the club in episode 6 but Alastor is nowhere to be found in the entire episode.
That bond with anyone in the hotel, even Charlie, that would explain Alastor’s sudden support in the hotel has not been shown on screen and I really wish the show had more time to do that.
That’s really what Hazbin lacks. Time. Time to slow down and just let the characters breathe. Everything is moving so fast because they probably didn’t know a second season was coming until later which I can understand but that also means the plot takes priority over the characters and a majority of the cast is suffering from it.
Angel’s the only character who’s gotten an episode solely about him and exploring, expanding, and developing his character and his bonds in the hotel are what we see the most. This makes sense given he’s the main guest in the hotel but no other character has been able to have their own character and arc be explored the way Angel has.
The show needed more episodes like Masquerade to explore the cast before diving headfirst into the Heaven vs. Hell redemption conflict. That was always going to be the direction the show went in but they needed so much more time to do it because there are so many characters to juggle and so much is happening. Big moments that are supposed to matter don’t hit as hard as they should bc the cast is overstuffed and everyone is fighting for screen time.
This isn’t the teams fault, they’re doing a decent job with the limit time they were given but 8 episodes is not enough time for a show this ambitious with everything it’s trying to do. Doubling the episode count to 16 would’ve done wonders for the pacing and the show could slow down and take its time.
A lot of what Hazbin presents are good ideas. It’s all interesting but none of it is given enough time because the big Heaven and Hell plot has to take a majority of the shows focus. I do hope season 2 fixes this but that’s also gonna depend where the show is going after season 1 is over. We’ll see next week.
My main wish for the show going forward is each character gets their chance to be explored just as Angel has.
what do you fucking mean that's how charlie dies. THAT'S HOW CHARLIE DIES??? i mean i know the show has a penchant for killing off every character who's not a winchester brother or an angel of thursday but good god. what the fuck. charlie was such a good and enjoyable recurring character, and she had such a fandom impact that i've seen, and she's only around for THREE SEASONS?? (sidebar: it's amazing she has the presence she does for only being around for a couple episodes in the long run!) but: was this necessary? and she just dies offscreen after her skills are utilized to progress the plot of decoding the book of the damned?? oh my god. what in the actual fuck. i'm finding myself getting genuinely very upset at her death. she did not fucking deserve that. and i can absolutely see why the fan response to her death is what it is now. completely fucking unjustified and throwaway and useless.
i need to start to live blog fucking bitb just to talk about whatever the fuck is kian doing right now. what the fuck. why is he jorking it from his sleep. what.
Aaron Judge is the first Yankee to get on base 54+ times in an 8 game span since 1939 when Charlie Keller did it. The only other two Yankees to accomplish this feat were Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth ❤️ that's some mighty fine company you're in, Aaron.... mighty fine.
